#as such a lot of survivors follow this account

Okay guys, I'll leave you tonight with this:
Reminder that whatever I post may be triggering, especially to RAMCOA victims, especially Monarch victims (just about anything could be one). In this case, this piece is meant to be set in a club.
Tumblr media
Smile For Me, Will Ya?
Some notes:
He looks like his brother. This is partially because of the perspective inconsistencies, but I think that making his head smaller will help me see it better.
For reference:
Tumblr media
(I drew this in like 15 minutes and I'm severely put of practice, especially for Fritz (right) )
The stretched out hand is jank (tis but a sketch) - the reason the pinky is curled in is because it was originally below the bottom.
The glass took a while (I don't normally draw cups let alone champagne glasses), still haven't decided what to do with the liquid.
I just realized that, while here's smoke comming out of his mouth, there's no tobacco to be found.
Background is bit weak
Take this as a sketch - I'm thinking of something a lot more vibrant, especially with the background. The figure is meant to be "Samuel" from someone else's perspective (likely someone he's harassing, thus the title "Smile For Me, Will Ya?"). This is meant to be a callback to the days when The Monarch Effect was still a Smiler fanfic. I want clear contrast with light/dark, since duality is a motif I want to explore.
When I get it done, I will post here and on DA @ NoOnesNormal.

TLDR: Yes!
Part 1 of a learning series with @Se3raj.0 and Sky from Rebirth Garments about the current conditions in Gah-zah . If you learn something today please consider supporting Seraj at
bit.ly/serajfund
You can also read the full interview I did in the feb 25th GFM update!
@hibiscusly and I have been fundraising for Seraj for a month now! We have noticed that as soon as Ramadan started , support for many Gah-zahn’s GFM’s have gotten stagnant, our friends in Pal-eh-stein need consistent ongoing support in order to survive!
[Image descriptions: text graphics made by @love-notes-to-survivors adapted from my interview with @Se3raj.0 !
Image 1: text reads “Can people in Gah-zah receive money?” On top of a photo from the news of people standing on top of rubble
All of the other text graphics are in pink and black text on an ombre yellow to pink background with text that says “Dough-nate to Seraj: bit.ly/serajfund “ at the bottom of each slide.
Image 2: A few weeks ago, we connected with Seraj, a 20-year old IT student currently in the displacement tents with his family in Gah-zah, taking care of his family unit of nine and his extended family. We were able to confirm this via video calls with Seraj.
We learned the following information as to whether people in Gah-zah can receive funds and how from Seraj:
Image 3: There is only one ATM available in all of Gah-zah
In the whole of Gah-zah, there is only one ATM, which is in Rafah. There are no other banking facilities available, and there is a lot of crowding around this one ATM.
Image 4: People in Gah-zah who have money, such as merchants and somewhat rich people, deposit their cash into the bank in case an emergency happens, such as being displaced again, and their money is taken by the soldiers. This way, their money is in their accounts, rather than being on their person.
Image 5: How do they receive funds?
When Seraj and others receive money from a payment processer, like PayPal, they transfer it to the bank.
Image 6:
How do they receive funds?
They then go to these merchants or the other people who have money, and transfer the money to their bank accounts. Then they receive the money from them in cash.
Image 7:
Seraj is currently fuhnd-raizing for food, water, medication and supplies for warmth and cooking. If you’re able to, please contribute to his survival fund:

Gareth didn’t know who had “almost running over a bloodied and very clearly drugged survivor of--if said survivor could be believed-- a mall fire” on their 1985 bingo card, but he’d like a fucking word.
Particularly considering Steve Harrington kept panicking anytime either he or Eddie even hinted at taking him to a hospital.
Instead he insisted, like some kind of bad action movie hero, that he was “perfectly fine” and that it was “not nearly as bad as it looked.”
Both of which might have been believable had he not twice gotten distracted by Gareth’s drums (sitting next to them both, on account of Corroded Coffin having played at the Hideout that night) asking rambling questions that constantly outed him as being high as hell.
Nevermind the fact that Gareth kept finding more blood.
“Really, it’s--mm.” Steve said, wincing as Gareth found yet another wound. “Not bad.”
“I don’t know how a fire even did this.” Gareth shot back, trying to figure out what stain he needed to press on without taking Steve’s shirt off.
Harrington raised a hand. “Service elevator.” He identified.
He made a whooshing noise, following his hand as it dropped back to his chest. “Slammed right into the floor.”
Gareth winced.
“There was a lot of shit in that elevator besides us.” Steve added, and it was moments like this where Gareth could almost believe the guy was sober, until Harrington followed it up with yet another rant about Russians and Russian Truth Serum.
Right as Gareth found another wet spot.
“Fuck the speed limit, Harrington’s bleeding out on me back here!" Gareth called, voice loud and frantic.
Sure that might have been dramatic but then, so were Steve’s injuries.
"Sorry babe." Brown eyes, pupils blown wide from drugs stared up at him with an easy smile, at odds with his beaten face.
In a tone so unimpressed, a middle school teacher would have envied him, Gareth said; "That is not my name."
Harrington didn't even blink. "I know. It's Gareth."
That took him aback.
"I really don't know how to feel about you knowing that." He admitted, half to keep Steve talking, and half as a distraction when he finally figured out which wound needed pressure the most (and then pressed on it.)
Apparently whatever the hell made up “Russian truth serum” was some strong shit, because in a tone so utterly honest (and thus entirely unlike the Steve Harrington that had ruled Hawkins High halls) Harrington said; "Good things, I hope."
Then winked.
What the fuck.
"Eddie drive faster!" Gareth yelled over his shoulder. “I think he’s dying!”
(He wasn’t, but given the flirting, Gareth wasn’t taking any chances.)

The ultimate shadow ban survivor guide
I've seen multiple people I follow, or their mutuals affected by shadow bans lately (makes me wonder if it's @staff's attempts to fight bots going totally haywire). As someone who survived a 2-month-long shadow ban on my main this winter, I thought I'd make a post.
First step of being shadow banned: calm down and take a breath. A shadow ban is just a stupid glitch in tumblr's anti-spam system. You're not losing your blog. You're gonna need a whole lot of patience, and deal with inconveniences, but it's fixable.
Read the incredibly useful post All About Shadowban by @that-damn-girl. It outlines the symptoms quite well. The only thing I'd point out is "your original posts won’t be visible to your followers either" - afaik that doesn't happen. Everything you post and reblog will still be visible to your followers, and also they can interact with your posts - like them, reblog them, reply to them.
Just like the post says, contact support. I recommend using a different email than what your banned blog is registered to; not because your ticket won't go through (mine actually did, as I found out when they finally replied), but because you might not receive an email confirmation for your ticket (it's somehow tied to the anti-spam thing, I think), and you're going to worry and try to send more tickets, like I did.
Now wait. And wait, and wait, and wait. They are SLOW. I've seen some miraculous 1-day unbans in the #shadow ban tag, but most people, like me, wait around a month for support to reply. Those are the same guys going through thousands of bot reports every day in addition to user tickets.
If you're going to wait, might as well keep blogging. Now if this is your sideblog that's shadow banned, consider yourself lucky. Make a new temporary sideblog, use it to post your original stuff so it goes into tags (mind that it might take a few days for a new blog to start showing up in tags). Reblog everything to your shadow banned blog so you still have all content in one place and your followers see it. If it's your main that's banned, you can still do that, but there's the extra pain of not being able to reply to posts or send non-anon Asks, since that is only done from main. Might need to register a separate account for that.
Some more fun facts under readmore.
Fun fact #1
Trying to send support follow-up emails in the request confirmation email isn't going to do anything to speed up the process. But I did tweet at them using this tumblr support summoning picture by @cornmayor and offered a raccoon blood sacrifice to resolve my issue when it was like a month with no response. This is what they replied.
Tumblr media
3 hours later I got an email that my shadowban was lifted. I honestly don't know if it was a coincidence, but I mean, this is tumblr staff. Maybe they do accept blood sacrifices.
Fun fact #2
If you're wondering why my shadow ban lasted 2 months if I got a support reply after 1 month, well. It's hard to say exactly how their ban/unban system works bc support replies exclusively with pre-written template sentences, but basically they fucked up. The first time they told me my blog has been restored, I gained pretty much all functions back, except that my posts were still not appearing in tags. Which means probably that being hidden from tags is some kind of different flag on your blog that they forgot to remove. So I had to send a follow-up ticket and wait another month.
My advice is, when they tell you it's fixed, don't take that at face value, go and check all the functions you'd lost (replies, messaging, asks, tagging, appearing in notes, getting mentioned by others).

before this goes any further, I want it on the record that you all asked for this.
my first and most petty point: Midnight Mass gets basic details about Catholicism wrong, such that even I (not a Catholic) twigged them. The big one is that Catholics DON'T HAVE MIDNIGHT MASS FOR EASTER - it's a Christmas thing - but since the priest holding the mass is also a vampire, I can accept that he's going off-book. I have a harder time with them holding a PICNIC for ASH WEDNESDAY, aka THE DAY LENT STARTS, aka the day everyone starts fasting and are therefore not snacking on a potluck. It's a minor thing, and normally I wouldn't pick at it, but since this show ostensibly revolves around Catholic doctrine, it bears mentioning.
on a writing level, not one single character in this show talks like a human being. or acts like one. I couldn't give you any information about who these characters are as people, because they're not people, they're mouthpieces for Flanagan to impart his ideas to the audience. He is both deeply in love with his own writing and entirely unconvinced that his audience is smart enough to Get It, so he has his actors turn to the audience and lay it all out. Not only is this bad writing on a character level, it brings all plot and tension to a screeching halt whenever it happens. The most unintentionally hilarious instance of this has to be when Annabeth Gish comes to the sheriff to tell him that the church is being run by a vampire and her mother is aging in reverse, and his response is to start rambling about where he was on 9/11. Like. Nothing about this makes sense, and also why should we care when it has fuckall to do with the story?
(as regards the sheriff character: I, a white Quaker, am not the person to critique this show's handling of Islam. But I will say that Flanagan doesn't seem to have a clear idea what he wants to communicate: the overarching plot is antitheistic, in a very r/atheism sort of way ("WHAT IF THE SACRAMENT WAS VAMPIRE BLOOD" ooh wow didja cut yourself on that edge there, buddy) but Flanagan has no idea how to balance that with the precepts of any religion that isn't Christianity while also maintaining his broadly liberal bona fides, so it all sits very uneasily next to the church plot. I'm not advocating for the show to go full Christopher Hitchens, but I am saying that if Flanagan wants to posit that faith is a mass delusion and a net detriment to any community formed around it . . . he needs to either focus only on Christian characters or be willing to engage with how other religions function in society, because as is, the storyline with the sheriff and his son just peters out into nothing.)
but the thing that made me angriest - that took me from "this is so boring and pretentious and badly written" to "oh FUCK this guy and the horse he rode in on -" was the titular midnight mass. It is very overtly inspired by the Jonestown massacre, which a lot of horror media does, but what it fails to account for is that the members of the People's Temple did not voluntarily kill themselves. I know "drink the kool-aid" has entered the popular lexicon as shorthand for "blindly following a leader," but extensive testimony from Jonestown survivors - not to mention the death tape, which is available online if you really want to ruin your day - all confirms that the people who died that day were forced to drink poison at gunpoint, after years of brutal abuse from Jones and his inner circle. And even after all of that, people fought back. And not outsiders - people who had been in the Temple for years and wholeheartedly believed in the mission that had lead them to Guyana in the first place. (Christine Miller was a fucking hero and she deserves to be remembered for it.) Jonestown was not lemmings going off a cliff, and any serious take on the story would involve reckoning with that - that these people believed in a higher power and also believed that they had a right to live despite what Jones told them. But that would contradict Flanagan's point of "religion is dumb, WAKE UP SHEEPLE," so instead he borrows the iconography of a truly horrific tragedy and disrespects the victims by implicitly representing them as dumb, brainwashed cult members who eagerly toss back poison because they think sky daddy wants them to. He has so little respect for the subjects he's portraying, and the real people whose deaths he is copying for shock value, that he doesn't care about the inner lives of anyone whose beliefs might demonstrate that faith is more nuanced than his screed would have you believe.
There are good horror properties out there that are critical of religion and society - The Medium, which we posted about a few days ago, is one. The Witch is another. So is The Sudbury Devil. Hell, you could go back to the sixties with Witchfinder General. Religion - especially socially dominant religions like Christianity in the west - can and should be critiqued. But Midnight Mass is too sloppily written to be a critique of anything besides, accidentally, how far Mike Flanagan's head is shoved up his ass.
Anyway, that's why mod L doesn't like Midnight Mass. I did warn you.

The leader of the infamous Final Fantasy 7 cult (content warning for ableist language from many of the survivors, plus a lot of really triggering cult abuse in general) is a great example of what the cult leader you're most likely to actually run into looks like.
For all appearances, Jen was a pretty ordinary young adult, constant wearing of a purple skirt like a dress aside. She liked fantasy media and collecting shiny trinkets, as many young adults do. She was a far cry from the popular image of a creepy old guy in dark robes.
The first thing to notice here is how Jen constructed this incredibly grandiose narrative around herself. She presented herself as this powerful spiritual teacher who knew better than everybody else. She claimed she had a number of important roles, including stalking and watching vampires and being the queen of the fairies. She even claimed that she was the embodiment of the archangel Uriel, and that she was married to Metatron.
The next thing to notice in the survivors' accounts is how Jen worked to pull others into her narrative. They talk about how she'd find other people and decide that they were the reincarnations of various Final Fantasy 7 characters, and try and help them supposedly remember their past life memories.
And then there's the entitlement. According to survivors' accounts, Jen spent tens of thousands of other people's dollars, very often on nonessential items for herself. When things didn't go her way, she reportedly screamed at people and even physically assaulted them.
From these reports, we see a picture of someone who needed to be powerful and in control, who needed everything to revolve around her. She exploited vulnerable people around her own age - people who weren't in good states of mind, didn't have good boundaries, and didn't recognize the red flags.
A cult leader can be someone your own age. A cult leader can look like an ordinary person. A cult leader can live in an apartment building. A cult leader can be someone you meet on the Internet who introduces you to ideas like multiverse theory or tries to convince you that you had a past life.
What really defines a cult leader is the way they try to pull people into a reality of their own creating and make themselves dominant over others with it, and leverage that dominance to disrespect, hurt, and exploit people. Jen didn't have millions of followers or a ranch in the middle of nowhere to take those who did follow her. Based on survivors' accounts, she was capable of manipulating a number of young adults she met, and used that to take advantage of them and abuse them. That was what made her a cult leader.

Have you ever heard of the phrase "Every Zionist accusation is a confession” because that story about eviiiiil Palestinian putting an innocent Israeli baby in an oven, just like the story about eviiiiiil Islamic jihadist Palestinians beheading 40 Israeli babies, is a fake propaganda stories with absolutely no real proof beside Zionists saying its true, but you know what is a real story? Israeli soldiers ordering Hussein al-Shareed to throw his own son in a burning oven then throwing that baby in the oven themselves after his father refused to do it closely followed by throwing Hussein behind his son.
And this doesn't of course take into account how a huge portion of the 4000 Palestinian children Israel killed in "self-defense" this month were babies or the other babies that they killed in prior years, but why would a fascist scum like you bother showing sympathy to thousands of systematically murdered Palestinian babies when you can save all that energy toward a fake proof-less story about one dead Israeli baby?
Ps: I know you will not actually answer this and would instead make a post about "omg anti-semites in my inbox are wishing death on me simply because I'm Jewish AGAIN! :/ " but Idc I just wanted to remind scum like you that literally no one is falling for your old Zionist tactic of victimizing yourself and demonizing Palestinians (at least normal people, I'm sure fellow White Supremacists would be with you)
And good morning to you too. This is a taste of the delightful antisemitism clogging up my inbox
any ways this is pretty classic of how holocaust denial works, ie "It didn't happen! but you totally deserved it!"
of course there's lots of proof of what Hamas did on October 7th, they filmed a lot of it, if any one wants to traumatize themselves they can hear it all in the survivor's own words here
but the real reason I want to publish this is when you google the name "Hussein al-Shareed" you know what you find? nothing. After assuring google that no I didn't mean Hussein bin Ali, King of Hejaz died 1931, the closest match to "Hussein al-Shareed" was from Linkedin Pakistan. I've even put in a good faith effort to google the story without the name, and couldn't find anything that matched. Not a crappy story from some troll farm, not a tweet by someone who pays for twitter, nothing, nothing at all. So this person came into my inbox, made up a story, made up a name, all to prove "the evil dirty Jews Zionists lie!" truly every accusation is a confession my friend.
Am Yisrael Chai.

‘What’s the worst that can happen?” That is what Georgia Harrison asked herself one Sunday morning in August 2020 when Stephen Bear, who lived opposite, invited her over for a cup of tea. They knew each other through the reality television and influencer circuits. She had been on The Only Way Is Essex (Towie) and Love Island; he had done Shipwrecked, Ex on the Beach, then won Celebrity Big Brother. They had hooked up before and he hadn’t treated her well.
“We’d been in lockdown and I was definitely quite lonely, feeling quite rubbish about myself,” says Harrison, 28. “I knew that going to Bear’s was a bad idea – there were two voices in my head. In the end, I thought: what’s the worst that could happen? Well, now we know.”
What happened was this: the morning cup of tea stretched into a long lunch washed down by tequila, followed by drunken sex in Bear’s back garden. The sex was different from how it had been in the past – more performative, with Bear carefully positioning Harrison in various locations. “It was more dramatic and lasted longer,” says Harrison. “I just thought he was having a good day.” Afterwards, to Harrison’s horror, Bear mentioned casually that it might have been caught on his CCTV system. When he showed her the footage and she began to cry (“I’ll die if anyone sees it,” she said), he promised to delete the video. Instead, three months later, Bear posted the footage on his verified Only Fans account. Within days, it was all over the internet, including the website Pornhub. “Georgia Harrison sex tape” had become a top search on Google.
Harrison found out when a fan in the US sent her a screenshot asking: “Have you seen this?” Her reaction was to gag. But she picked herself up and went to the police. Bear was arrested, charged and convicted. In March 2023, he was sentenced to 21 months in prison for voyeurism and sharing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress. Now, she has written a memoir about it, Taking Back My Power.
It is hard to overstate the impact of this case. Most victims of intimate image abuse never report the crime. They are teenagers too terrified of their parents’ reactions, professionals who fear for their careers, parents who don’t want their children or partner to know, or anyone else who can’t face walking into a police station armed with a link to Pornhub. Of those who do come forward, only about 4% will ever see a charge; a prison sentence is rarer still.
Bear’s case – on the news, in headlines, all over social media – sent a message of hope to victims of this sort of abuse and a warning shot to potential perpetrators. There was a 56% rise in calls to the government’s “revenge porn” helpline in the month he was sentenced. Harrison didn’t stop there, though. She lobbied parliament to demand better laws around “revenge porn” and helped to secure amendments to the online safety bill that make the crime easier to prosecute. She is still campaigning for platforms that carry the footage of her and Bear to be held criminally accountable.
It is certainly not the life or career she had in mind when she left school at 16, the only child of a single mother, already intent on reality TV stardom. “I grew up in Essex and a lot of my friends were on Towie, so that’s what I wanted to reach for,” she says. “It was the idea of literally getting paid for doing photoshoots, partying and having some fun in all these mad countries and bars.” At 19, she did get on Towie; a few years later, she was on Love Island. She built a career as an influencer and was able to buy a flat in Essex at 21. Was it all she had hoped for? “Actually, it was even better,” she says.
Although she and Bear were neighbours, Harrison didn’t get to know him until October 2018, when they were cast in The Challenge, an MTV reality show. By then, the former roofer had built a TV reputation as a bit of a player, a “lovable rogue”. They got together during filming, but when the show finished, Bear went back to womanising. Shortly afterwards, they starred in the sequel and got together again. This time, though, Harrison says, he locked her out of their hotel room to sleep with someone else.
The next time Harrison saw Bear was in August 2020, when he invited her over for that cup of tea and secretly filmed them having sex. Afterwards, she felt certain he had planned it. “We’d been in every angle that his CCTV covered,” she says. “He’d made sure we were never outside the lines.” Even so, she didn’t see what lay ahead. “I was really upset and he seemed to understand. I never for a second thought he’d be stupid enough to send it to people. I hoped he had some form of respect for me, but I also thought he wouldn’t want to ruin his entire career or end up in prison. I just didn’t think he was capable of what he was capable of.”
In the days after, Harrison messaged Bear asking him to promise he wouldn’t do anything with the video. He assured her that he had deleted it. It was December when she received the screenshot from a fan in the US. “That’s when I knew it was global,” she says. “One of my first thoughts was: it’s time to tell my family. My mum knew already, but I needed to have the conversations with my dad, my uncle – the male figures, I guess – so they knew it was coming.” In fact, her uncle knew already; he had been sent the video by someone who didn’t realise Harrison was his niece. “They were all horrified, but supportive,” she says. “I was an adult having sex – they told me I’d done nothing to be ashamed of.”
She knew that, but shame still hit in waves. “It went so horrifically viral; my postman’s probably seen it,” she says. “It’s that feeling that I’d let myself down, let my family down, that I should have seen it coming and how could I have been so stupid?” Her influencer work went into freefall. Any post on any product would be flooded with comments about the video (“Congrats hon, you’re a porn star now!”). “There were so many other influencers – same amount of followers, been on Love Island, same calibre – who didn’t have a sex scandal. Why put me next to their brand?” She rented out her flat – for income and because she was terrified of seeing Bear – and moved in with her mum.
“I don’t think I’ve admitted to myself how bad my anxiety was until now,” she says. “I wouldn’t be able to go to the gym on my own, or I’d get in and feel everyone was looking at me and have to leave. I barely left the house and when I did it was really hard not to panic. It got to the point where I only wanted to be around my closest friends.”

Harrison reported Bear, who was arrested in January 2021 and charged four months later. There was an 18-month wait for the trial. Harrison’s life was on hold. She knew she had a strong case – she had been filmed without her knowledge and had sent multiple messages to Bear begging him not to share it – but she dreaded a “not guilty” verdict. The Bear she knew, the Bear who had won Celebrity Big Brother, was a charmer. He could win hearts, talk you round.
“If he was found not guilty, I think I would have had to shave my head and move to Bolivia or something,” she says. “The career I love would have been over – that’s definite. But aside from that, my faith in the universe would have been so shattered. It would have drained all the hope and faith and love and life out of me. To see someone act in such an awful, evil, manipulative way and then walk away … I felt it might just ruin me – and it seemed possible. Bear could play things so brilliantly. I don’t know why he decided not to.”
Bear’s behaviour before and during the trial probably sealed his sentence. He uploaded X-rated videos of him and his girlfriend to the internet, captioning one: “At least she knows I’m filming her.” In another video posted just before the trial, the couple cavorted in orange prison jumpsuits. He ran a Twitter poll on what colour of suit he should wear to court – and turned up in a rented Rolls-Royce, dressed in pink and a huge fur coat, carrying a cane topped with a gold snake’s head. In court, he interrupted the judge and waved away the barrister. He pleaded not guilty, but his defence was nonsensical. At times, he claimed that Harrison wasn’t the woman in the video, or that she didn’t mind it being filmed, or that there was no proof that he had uploaded the images – it might have been his assistant, it could have been a hacker.
Had he pleaded guilty and expressed remorse, he would almost certainly have been handed a community sentence. Harrison still can’t understand it. “The Bear I first met was funny and cheeky, but also really charming – he could be kind,” she says. “That person in court seemed possessed. I feel like every show he went on, he was praised for being ‘the villain’ – and the worse he was, the more attention he got. At some point, the lines blurred. That role took over.” A reality TV monster? “That’s how it seemed.”
Giving evidence was excruciating for Harrison. She sat in the witness box as the jury (nine men, three women) looked through pages and pages of video stills, having to confirm that each one featured her. “I could tell the jury was absolutely cringing,” she says. “I was in a private garden in a private moment that I thought was between me and one other person. To know people have seen it is hard. To see people seeing it while they can see you is harder.
“As someone in the public eye, used to public speaking, it was still hard to get my words out. You don’t know where to look, who to talk to. You feel you’ve done something wrong when you haven’t. I dread to think what it’s like for a vulnerable young woman who isn’t used to addressing a room. I think it would be near enough impossible.” She hopes her case might make it a little easier. “Women come up to me all the time, crying, saying they’ve been through this horrible situation and never spoken to anyone about it before. They message me on a daily basis. Intimate-image abuse happens so much more than people think.”
After the trial, Harrison continued campaigning, initially to make cases easier to prosecute. At present, the sharing of intimate images without consent is not illegal – unless done “with intent to cause distress”, however hard that is to prove. In June, the government announced amendments to the online safety bill that will remove this requirement if the law is passed. This will mean that sharing intimate images without consent, whatever the motive, would become a criminal act.
But Harrison wants more.
“If you go to court for this and get a criminal conviction, that content should become illegal and any platforms that still show it and fail to take it down should become criminally accountable,” she says. “It’s crazy. If someone gets caught with drugs, those drugs are seized and disposed of. Why should this footage stay up there? A change like that isn’t hard to make and it would make a huge difference. Far more victims would come forward, because they’d know it will be possible to make all that footage disappear at the end.”
The video of Harrison and Bear is still out there. “I worry that one day I’ll have kids and it will be accessible to them,” she says. “I just hope that by that time, society may have got on top of this and it will be too risky and expensive for platforms to carry it.” She expects that finding a partner she trusts will take time. “As I get to the point where I am trying to have relationships, I’ve realised that I do have trust issues, but that’s not a bad thing. I’ve been burned so badly. I won’t accept anything that might be a red flag or makes me feel vulnerable. If someone really cares about me, they’ll just have to help me get past that.”
Meanwhile, she is busy again. There is a TV show coming up that she can’t talk about yet. The brands are back. Harrison has written Taking Back My Power. She would like to present daytime TV: “You literally get paid to have a natter!” She is also happy to be known for the court case. “I’ll never, ever lose the stigma of being all over those porn platforms,” she says. “But if I’m known as the person who stood up and fought back – I’d be proud of that.”

if they were on survivor-
Scout
would probably get screwed over by the edit and get portrayed as a moron who annoys everyone and is only ok at challenges. but in reality he'd be pretty tight with the rest of his tribe.
totally hogs confessionals (on purpose) and talks over people a lot at tribal council (on accident)
might not make it all the way to merge, but would absolutely be invited back for an All Stars season.
Soldier
 medically evacuated.
he’ll get brought back for another season to redeem himself and get medically evacuated a second time.
Pyro
no social game, no game plan, just came to have a good time.
better than people would think at challenges, but wouldn’t do well at tribal council and could easily be one of the first voted out.
but if by some chance they made it to the merge, in theory, they would dominate endurance challenges by just entering their happy place and vibing out until everyone else breaks concentration.
Heavy
challenge beast, no question.
great at catching food for the tribe, and will take the greatest share of the food every meal. (no one would dare try to stop him.)
great at challenges, and is liked by the rest of his tribe, but not the best social game. (not too talkative and wouldn’t really understand when he’s being manipulated and by extension, can’t manipulate others)
would likely be blindsided before he could make it far past the merge.
would get pretty teary-eyed if he made it to the message from home/family visit episode.
Demo
fan favorite, no question
a total wild card when it comes to challenges, and wins a lot of individual immunities
mostly here for comic relief, but would have tons of people rooting for him to make it to the end. just like scout, he would for sure be wanted back for an all stars season.
can be a little lazy about helping out around camp, but people don’t really care since he’s so fun to have around.
loves to fight dirty during physical challenges and probably will return home with a bunch of parasites.
engineer
he is the greatest at solving challenge puzzles, but can’t keep up in water challenges for the life of him.
very likeable to audience and other players. unfortunately would have a major target on his back during the late-merge on account of having many friends on the jury.
other than heavy, he’s one of the best hunters and a great provider for the rest of the team.
would look like a completely different person by the end of the game vs when he started on account of losing like 25 pounds, borderline sun-poisoning, bug bites, and growing an entire beard.
medic
agent of chaos and constantly getting in fights with the other members of the tribe (for funsies).
can make allies just as easily as he can backstab them (also for funsies).
gets on people’s nerves a lot at camp, but his smooth-talking give him a HELL of a social game.
the most insane confessionals, no one knows what he’s on about, but he’s got spirit
on the better side of average for challenges, stronger than most in water and at solving puzzles, even if he’s not great at obstacle courses or other pure brute strength challenges.
i feel like he’d also be pretty good at finding immunity idols. would have a huge fan cult-following.
sniper
remember that one guy unnerved the rest of the tribe by spending an uncomfortable amount of time sharpening his machete while staring at the other people on his tribe eerily? that be him.
alright at challenges, but very weak in the water. would do well trying to keep a low-profile and keep a target off his back.
also would probably have a considerable cult-following.
spy
just here to blindside people and betray his allies, he doesn’t care about the money.
does not help out at ALL around camp. really annoying and smug monologs during his confessionals.
he could get pretty far in the game, but even if he were to make it all the way to the final 3, no one would vote for him after playing such a cheap, backstab-y game.
he would be very good at challenge puzzles, and deciphering messages. also great at finding immunity idols, and uses them just right. ( which is to say, right away because everyone wants him gone so fucking bad)
miss pauling
hot take, but i think she’d be most likely to win.
she can read people so well, is underestimated by others and would also be great at pitting people against each other without them finding out she was behind it all.
a decent fisher and could be counted on to bring food home for the rest of the tribe and wouldn’t require as much food as others.
would get and underdog storyline
saxton hale
can’t really see him as a player, more likely he’d be jeff probst.
administrator
originally part of the game-designers, but got banned after her “challenges” kept killing people

UPDATE 9/2/23
Wow, it's almost fall and I'm still kickin', so here's a proper update about what's been going on with me. I do feel great most days, and with Halloween in season around the US, it makes me very happy. As far as stroke recovery goes, my leg has a newly made brace and my walking in general has greatly improved the past few months. I really don't roll my left foot anymore, in other words, my foot can go flat instead of landing on the ankle and possibly causing injury.
My arm is still mostly nothing but a couple weeks back I was able to move my shoulder again so there's hope. I also got a home electrical stimulation device so I give my arm and hand a jolt for an hour everyday. With time, I feel confident i'll recover.
A great help with my recovery has been the amazing @dagdasgoddess , a fellow young stroke survivor who has been watching out for me and offering encouragement every day for a couple months now, exactly when I needed it. Mentally, stroke recovery is pretty damn tough but most days I feel positive about it, with great thanks to her.
And now on to some business. Shortly before my stroke I was planning on celebrating the 10th anniversary of my blog (which would have been in December of last year, but I was still in the hospital, obviously...) And one of the things I was going to do was photograph and review all the smt demon figures I have, using my special diorama table. I got around to starting the project a couple weeks before the stroke, naturally starting with the Leonard figure. Here's one of the pics:
Tumblr media
I also made something of an anniversary banner, just because, I guess:
Tumblr media
I also want to talk about some milestones reached, starting with some follower counts. By December last year I finally surpassed 2k followers, so thank you so very much. This is after Kanekos Crib Notes quickly dwarfed my own blog followers shortly after its establishment in like 2014. But now my own blog is even ahead of kcn, as undoubtedly its current annual schedule limits its growth and reach. (But hey, it's almost October, aka KCN MONTH)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last milestone is above: my Stealing Knowledge blogger has reached half a million views! Unbelievable, thanks for reading and sharing over the years! Identity crisis part 3 remains the most viewed, with over 50k on its own.
Finally, I want to talk about the future. Another 10th anniversary plan was to try and monetize the blog somehow, probably via a Patreon for new articles and such and many other ideas, maybe even doing YouTube videos to answer asks instead of them being all text. I have lots of other ideas too, but they'll have to wait until my arm works again. So instead of monetizing the future, for now I'm just going to ask y'all kindly to chip in for the blog's past. I'm amazed at how much activity the blog still generates from--let's call it "legacy content".
Tumblr media
To that end, I have set myself up a kofi account where you can show your appreciation for that "legacy", kuwabara, kuwabara, if you'd like. All money earned will go towards paying down bills accrued during my recovery, like my hyperbaric treatments. In perfect honesty, it's been around 3000 US dollars so far. Don't feel obligated to contribute and thank you all for still sticking around with me despite my relative inactivity. And if course, continue keeping @sorenblr busy if you wish.
I would also not expect my own recovery before next year, that's just stroke for you. Thank you all!!!!!
p.s. I was featured as a stroke survivor again on another therapy facebook post:

I've spent alot of time in sparkledog scenecore type places and 90% of those weird posts seem to just be CSA victims trying to make sense of their own trauma
I'm sympathetic and understanding but also worry about the way that CSA really is a cycle, not just something enacted by evil people with bad intentions. I've become a lot more critical after a friend who framed this stuff as coping became a perpetrator. On the other hand you cannot tell who is an abuser only by red flags, and you can't cast everyone who posts controversial content as a pedophile. I also know how painful it is as a survivor to be accused of being a pedophile just because you have weird fetishes or just for existing.
I'm so harsh in my joke post because it's the community I've seen the most amount of active negligence and weird, libertarian ideas about sexuality and free speech absolutism. I've gone through following accounts for people I'm blocking and actually find people following multiple "No contact map" and other forms of literal self identified pedophiles that are also in that sparkledog community. I see people in this community make fun of the idea of blocking minors from nsfw accounts. I see them laughing at teenagers who don't want to be exposed to pornography and citing their own childhood exposure to sexual content the same way boomers talk about getting beat and shit. There's a huge reactionary strain to that community that has formed that genuinely concerns me.

We have alters from problematic sources, if you don't like this go away
We like problematic media but we don't support their creators or the media itself (like buying the games or watching the show on the legal sites). We don't mind syscourse neutrals following us, if you're endo neutral in the sense that you think they're valid in some way, don't interact with us (we understand thinking they're traumagenic but don't remember their trauma, some of us think like that too, so if this is your case you're good)
Sometimes we reblog stuff about the yandere stereotypy, we have bpd and we use the term for ourselves
Know that if we follow you is because we want to be friends so feel free to DM us (we are too scared to dm first dnjakckwkd)
We are a questioning OEA system, meaning that the signs are there and we choose to ignore them /cj. We are mainly questioning because we can't accept that we went through that trauma but maybe interacting with other programmed/ramcoa survivors can help us with this /lh
We call ourselves freaks (because we can and we want), if you don't like this fuck off, we don't care
Our DNI here doesn't apply to our other blogs (just to the sideblogs of this account which are the hoard and alter ones)

Inmate Crucifixion Day!!!
So it's no big surprise that the QSMP has some religious imagery going on, and today's supposed conclusion to the Prison Arc is no exception. Today, the inmates are going to be crucified, and we all know what that is.
Right?
Well, hi, I'm A.D., I'm a historian, and today I'm going to teach you all about crucifixion!
Tumblr media
Now, crucifixion is a longstanding execution method that dates back way before Jesus was even thought of. We've got accounts of crucifixions dating back to the Persians under Darius I, and we've got even more accounts from all over the place in the ancient world.
Now, let's go over some history real quick, shall we?
~522 BCE: Polycrates, the tyrant of Samos, is crucified postmortem by some pissed-off Persians. Maybe.
We don't actually know if this one happened or not, but we do know that he was assassinated. That much is true. The crucifixion part is what's up for debate, but, if it is true, then Polycrates here has the privilege of being the first ever victim of crucifixion. Lucky him!
~519 BCE: Darius I orders the crucifixion of something approximating 3,000 political opponents in Babylon
Tumblr media
See, the thing about Persian crucifixions is that the prisoners weren't usually nailed to the cross shape we all know. Nah, they were tied up with their hands above their heads, strung up on a single pole. This way, their death would take a lot longer, and the prisoner would suffocate under their own weight. This would last for days, usually with the prisoner being left up to be humiliated even after their death.
~417 BCE: Persian general and tyrant Artaÿctes is crucified by Athenians in a rather uncharacteristic act
But also take this with a grain of salt because this account comes from Herodotus, and I don't trust that dude with much more than a fun story.
The Greeks didn't really think much of crucifixion. They were like, "We're above this. We are civilized", but also. They did not like the whole "Persian Invasion" thing, and so sometimes they ended up resorting to measures they weren't too happy with. Such is war!
~332 BCE: Speaking of war, Alexander the Great supposedly had 2,000 survivors of his siege of Tyre crucified.
The thing with Alexander is that a lot of what people say about him is probably bullshit.
~88 BCE: Ancient Judean king Alexander Jannaeus supposedly had 800 Pharisees-slash-rebels crucified in the middle of Jerusalem
And now we get to the Romans, who kinda perfected the whole thing. They were super into crucifixion. They were so into it that they had a bunch of different ways of doing it!
Getting impaled on a stake
Getting tied to a tree
Getting tied to a crux simplex (see image below)
Getting stuck to a cross
Tumblr media
The whole crucifixion thing was seen as a way to deter people from doing the same crimes that the crucified people did. It was all about torture and humiliation. We have reports of people being crucified for days, and of people having to carry their own crucifixes (see: Jesus Christ.)
Sometimes people were tied to their crucifixes. Sometimes they were nailed to them. It varied by region and by criminal and by executor. Criminals were generally stripped completely naked (again, humiliation), though, again, the position depended on the region, criminal, and executor. The way Jewish people were executed was different than how, say, slaves or renegade gladiators were executed.
I'm not going to get into the whole process because that's very long and yucky. But I will repeat just how popular it was! Because MAN, the Romans LOVED it! Crassus ordered the crucifixion of at least 6,000 rebels and followers of Spartacus after the Third Servile War (but, then again, he was a piece of shit.)
Of course, we can't forget about the most famous crucifixion of all:
Tumblr media
~32 CE: Jesus.
Jesus of Nazareth remains the most famous victim of crucifixion, and it's because of the nature of his particular crucifixion that everybody thinks of crucifixion as The Thing With The Cross.
And this is probably what everybody's thinking of when they're talking about the QSMP inmates being crucified today.
But he wasn't the only religious figure to be crucified!
Cut to:
Either 274 CE or 277 CE: Mani, the Parthian Prophet and the founder of Manichaeism, is crucified in a way super similar to Jesus
Tbh we don't know when he died, but his followers purposefully compared his death to Jesus' despite there possibly being literally no crucifixion involved at all.
Tumblr media
But, you know what? Crucifixion happened all over the place!
Islamic territories had crucifixion going on simply because they lived where crucifixion had been taking place for centuries, and there was a lot of debate surrounding crucifixion in relation to the various rules and regulations surrounding criminality and the potential justification of execution.
Japan, interestingly enough, also has a pretty long history of crucifixion. Supposedly, it was introduced in the 15th century by pesky Christian missionaries, but the Japanese had had a similar tradition going on before that. But Japanese crucifixion, called haritsuke wasn't really like the kind we're familiar with. There was water crucifixion (mizuharitsuke) reserved for Christians, and there was upside-down crucifixion (sakasaharitsuke.) Fun!
(There is photo evidence of this even up on the Wikipedia page, but you can find that on your own. I'm not putting that on my blog, thanks.)
As the years continued, crucifixion became a bit less widespread, though there is photo evidence of its use in Japan up through the 19th century, and then reports of it being used in World War One by the Germans and then in World War Two against the Germans.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, it's still a practiced tradition in a few parts of the world. Saudi Arabia and Sudan still have crucifixion as an execution method, and it's still a reported method being used by certain extremist factions in Syria, Iran and Myanmar.
So... yeah! That's crucifixion for you! It's a truly terrible fate, but not an overtly religious one. It only really became religious when Jesus ended up getting killed, and, even then, it's only seen as such by groups of people steeped in Christian culture (such as many countries and cultures living in what people call "The West".)
I can only imagine that the religious aspect is what's going to come into play on the QSMP, because I doubt that this literal Minecraft Roleplay Series will employ actual literal torture and execution methods live on Twitch.

gentle reminder that assignedmale's creator, Sophie Labelle, was caught using the picture of a irl baby as tracing material for furry diaper art. labelle had a whole patreon with that kind of art. she deleted all the artworks on that account as soon it was found out. because of this it's believed that she had done the same thing for other pieces, but unfortunately they were all deleted before people could verify. that one picture was no doubt traced over that irl baby picture, they both matched perfectly. none of this is speculation or hearsay. she admitted that she was the owner of that account (which was easy to see anyway because the artstyle is the same, but still nice to have confirmation), and yet, when people (especially trans survivors) started calling her out for this, labelle lied that she was "exercizing her kink responsibly" while completely ommiting the involvement of a irl baby. a irl baby, someone's child, who had no way to consent to being used for porn. LO, who is under the impression that somehow this is all fake or never cared because it was the same thing with her sankaku account, she never really said, has defended labelle in the past as one of those trans women who never did anything wrong and yet it's injustly targetted. for the record, labelle has a lot of underage fans. parents of underage people follow her, take her as a role model. unlike LO, labelle does enjoy a certain level of respect on the trans community online and therefore her influence is a lot more insidious. the fact that not only she used a irl picture as tracing material, but also blatantly lied about it despite being confronted with the evidence, should make anyone at the very least concerned and think twice before promoting her work again.
(LO also has literally said that Israel and Palestine should fight each other to the death so... )

Hi there! So, I sent a similar concept to some other account (different writing styles,) but I’ve followed you for awhile and thought I’d ask you too! If your uncomfortable it’s totally ok 😅 But I was wondering how you think Ghostface, Frank, and maybe the Trapper react to a new survivor that turns out to be blind? How would they treat the survivor in the long run? (It can be the degree of seeing absolutely nothing or just faint colours)
Oh I really like this one! I’ll just make the reader completely blind. Thank you so much for the request Anon! :)
Cw: Frank is a bit of a dick, of course violence, and fluff.
I’m so sorry for the wait Anon. :(
Tumblr media
Ghostface:
Oh this might be interesting?
He noticed you just sitting there you looked incredibly panicked and confused.
He’d walk up to you and kinda just stand there watching you.
When he does decide to talk to you he’ll be extremely delicate.
He lets you hold on to him while you explain that your completely blind.
He would explain and let you live for that trial. He’s not sure how your going to work on a generator but he thinks you can manage.
Honestly very excited you were new and different from the others. What more could he ask for?
He can’t help himself but scare you sometimes. He knows it’s rude and you always smack him for it but the cute face you make is priceless.
He helps you find stuff all the time.
If this man finds out that anyone was being extra harsh to you. He’s kicking their ass.
He finds himself being more protective over you.
Overall he is a very sweet boy to you and will hurt people to protect you. :)
Tumblr media
Frank:
He’s a little shit.
He’s just mean to you and more than he usually is.
When he first found you were blind it was like a drug. A new exciting play thing for him!
Though when the initial excitement wore off he just felt empty. It’s more guilt but he can’t admit it.
He’s a lot more nicer to you after. The change was very off putting for you.
He’ll leave you stuff trying to not let you know it was him. You could tell by his walking pattern.
When you do confront him about his behavior he acts like he doesn’t know what your talking about.
Turns out you are surprisingly intimidating to him and he cracks very easily.
He’s still a brat when admitting it.
“I’m not being nice to you I’m just pitying you is all.” Mhm yeah sure Frank.
You just let him do his thing with being nice to you. Sometimes you laugh because of how dumb he is about it.
He knows he can’t make up for the way he treated you. He just wants to make things easier for you.
Tumblr media
Trapper:
He’s the nicest out of the three.
When he meets you he could see how scared you were.
He kinda just picks you up and puts you somewhere probably with a fellow survivor.
Giving you special treatment is his favorite activity at this point. He gets to piss of the entity and help you.
Out of the three he would fall for you. He likes that you can’t really tell he’s a brute.
He lets you escape even lets you stun him at times.
He visits you outside of trials to hang out and to check in on you.
He knows how the other killers treat you and beats the shit out of them.
He gives you gifts like flashlights or med kits. Yes they are stolen off of corpses.
He didn’t expect you to give him anything back though. He has a very hard time accepting the gifts.
One day you just asked if you could feel his face. He nearly cried when you said you thought he was pretty.
This man would and has killed for you and would happily do it again. :)
