As a lesbian, it’s happened twice already that one “guy” stands out to me and I think “huh maybe they’re kinda cute and interesting, I wanna get to know them” and then I get to know them better and it’s a closeted trans girl who I somehow sniffed with my little nonbinary lesbian nose

hi jeanie!! i was wondering if u had any thoughts on what the quarry counselors' favorite nintendo franchises might me?
-cas @chrashley :)
Hi Cas! 🥰 Ooh I love this question! I tried to stick with games I’m familiar with but there's a couple I've never played myself. That being said I'd be interested to hear what other's think in case I missed anything 👀
Abi - Animal Crossing, she enjoys more cozy games and it would bring out her artistic side, creating her own clothes and decorating her house/town/island. She doesn’t do anything extravagant but she plays a fair amount, she enjoys bug catching and visiting her favorite neighbors with gifts.
Dylan - The Legend of Zelda, nice mix of puzzles, action, and music depending on the game. He gets really into the new mechanics in BOTW and TOTK, going from creating really intricate mechanics to designing dick shaped machines. Perhaps projecting but I’d say he’d have a soft spot for Twilight Princess (you can hold and talk to cats!)
Kaitlyn - Splatoon, the shooter of the Nintendo franchises. She meticulously goes through all the weapons in order to pick the best one depending on specials and sub weapons (she strikes me as a sniper). She also loves the idols and music and designing her squid with all the fresh fashion choices. She definitely makes it to ruler rank whenever she participates in Splatfests (and claims bullshit if her team loses).
Ryan - Pokemon, perhaps inspired by Justice being in Detective Pikachu, but as an aspiring animator he’d be interested in all the different Pokemon designs. When Ryan builds his team he gets really attached to them. He’d never attempt a nuzlocke, he’s sticking with his whole team til the end. He of course loves the ghost types, but I think he’d also have something like Loudred or Golbat, something audio/sound related. He definitely plays a lot with Sarah.
Emma - Metroid, Emma is resourceful, working well under pressure and able to adapt to situations quickly, so when she takes the controller for Metroid she effortlessly switches from platforming to shooting, completely tearing the alien enemies to shreds. She loves Samus and probably got into the series for the leading lady. One of her favorite elements is the morph ball, but the arm canon might have it beat.
Jacob - WarioWare, while a more competitive game may seem like Jacob’s first choice I think if he had to choose a favorite he’d prefer the quick micro games that WarioWare has to offer. It’s fun, fast, no time to think just DO. He also really enjoys the zany humor and eccentric characters. It’s also a plus to play with others and can somehow still turn competitive, especially when playing with Nick.
Nick - Pikmin, Nick likes to go with the flow so he'd like something less fast paced but still something with some strategy. I think he'd find assigning Pikmin with their different abilities to various tasks satisfying. Since he also loves nature he'd enjoy the exploration element, as well. And really he just thinks the Pikmin are cute.
Laura - Animal Crossing, since she’s interested in veterinary science she’d probably enjoy the animal characters, Max most likely introduces her to the game for that reason. However, unlike Abi she plays it more seriously. She has to complete every task, pop every balloon, and fill the entire museum with every collectible. She has to stop playing when it cuts time into her personal productivity. She has a 5 star island.
Max - Yoshi, Max is definitely not a competitive player, he plays games that are more chill. He enjoys the straightforward mechanics of swallow enemies, throw eggs/yarn, with nothing too punishable or frustrating like with other tenser games. The vibrant, colorful world definitely doesn’t hurt with all the cute smiling flowers, shy guys on stilts, and most importantly: Poochy.
All the counselors love Mario Party and Mario Kart, some less so than others as the game progresses and they continue to lose (Jacob).

What made Rhaenyra x Alicent so popular when it's very badly written and don't make sense story-wise?
To oversimplify it, and there is a lot of overlap:
A)
Because they don’t know the actual canon story.
Some believe that because Ryan Condal and some of the show writers read Fire and Blood, they know what they are doing and what’s presented on screen is what happened in canon. (This is dependent on them not caring to engage more and/or not being people who care to think more about what they are consuming).
B)
Because wish fulfillment.
These two women in canon lore where 9 years apart in age with Alicent being the older and hated each other. Because we have:
two women hating each other and fighting for power
the use of the evil stepmother trope
we have some people think these in of themselves indicate sexist writing. A case of women fighting each other because their womenhood makes them vulnerable to competing for scarce resources that men determine for them.
And many people feel that they could have been friends if only the men around them didn’t force them into it. (Meanwhile, this was not the case at all and an extreme misunderstanding of medieval society.)
C)
Because misunderstanding feminism.
Some think that female friendships, by themselves, are enough to gainsay male aggression on a systematic level. Thus they find the relationship inspirational and ignore details or inconsistencies.
Despite the fact that Rhaenyra and Laena Velayron had a deep friendship in the canon lore. Maybe even a romantic connection. They connected after Laena and Daemon came back from Pentos to birth her last child. Gyldayn writes that:
Whilst Princess Rhaenyra misliked her stepmother, Queen Alicent, she [Rhaenyra] became fond and more than fond of her good-sister Lady Laena. With Driftmark and Dragonstone so close, Daemon and Laena oft visited with the princess, and her with them. Many a time they flew together on their dragons, and the princess’s she-dragon Syrax produced several clutches of eggs. In 118 AC, with the blessing of King Viserys, Rhaenyra announced the betrothal of her two eldest sons to the daughters of Prince Daemon and Lady Laena. Jacaerys was four and Lucerys three, the girls two. And in 119 AC, when Laena found she was with child again, Rhaenyra flew to Driftmark to attend her during the birth.
(Fire and Blood; A Question of Succession)
This is our canon female friendship of the Dance, which makes so much more sense with their shared personality trait -- daring -- and genuine love for dragonriding.
I do not want to say that the people who do ship Rhaenyra and Alicent -- or the actors who played them who acted as if these two characters did have some sort of pseudo-romance -- are all brainless. I mean to say that some don’t bother to actually get to know, analyze, or read between the lines of the text for the sake of shipping and superficial enjoyment from seeing two women share intimacy where before, in the canon, they were enemies since Rhaenyra was 10.
They see women-as-enemies as unrealistic or simplistic when the story and context is anything but. If anything, the story shows us the multiplicity of women...you know because they are human. Who want power and still be flawed (Rhaenyra) or evil (Alicent).
Basically, they think that making a saint or pacifying women is feminism. When it’s actually pedestalizing them and making men “natural” aggressors. And making women into passion-less, ambitious-less pawns for men to use AND assigning their worth to how and when they have sex.
This idea of men-evil-and-women-helpless/pacifists is prevalent in our current society (consider this POST by @rhaenyragendereuphoria).
D)
Because some are very anti-intellectual and anti-feminism. Misgoynists.
They hate that their idea of femininity is being criticized. This ideal of women-want-power instead of simply being a good wife, mother, “soft”, etc.
E)
Because there are those who genuinely just find both Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke are very attractive and see the show as just something to be apart of the zeitgeist of.
They don’t want to engage any deeper than that.
Some might feel “attacked” and dig in their heels and try to find justification to keep shipping the two. Pride then may come into it.
F)
Because performative activism, capitalism and marketing.
This POST by @brideoffires. Quote:
It’s all part of this phenomenon of liberal identity politics oriented fandom “activism” which takes “critical capitalist consumption” as a form of ethical social justice. Capitalist consumption is rendered acceptable under neoliberalism if it conforms to specific parameters, such as identity and representation politics, so nowadays everyone can’t read literature or watch film without looking for ways that they are problematic on an individual level (without looking at, for example, how these books or shows may be written by people funded by imperialist weapons manufacturing companies or finance capital companies).
But by all means, use this as a place to begin to learn more about performative activism. Come to your own conclusions and be open to discussion.

So I vaguely remember reading in the book ages ago that they assume a dragon to be male if it never lays eggs. Does that mean the dragons are just arbitrarily assigned a gender when they're hatched or is someone risking life and limb to find out for sure knowing that they could be wrong? lol
See also : "Questions Corlys asks at 3am staring at the ceiling and making Rhaenys laugh"
Ahahahahaha oh you know he'd ask her so many weird questions about dragons, or she'd casually drop some random info and his head would explode attempting to process it 🤯
I believe that dragon gender is a HOTLY contested subject. On one hand, yes the default seems to be to regard them as male unless they've been shown to lay a clutch of eggs (I SO BADLY want to know if/when Meleys laid a clutch of eggs). But there's another school of thought that dragon gender is very different from humans, and they can kinda flip back and forth at will, or maybe cycle like certain fish? So none of it truly matters?
Granted, the info we do have from the books is a bunch of maesters yelling opinions at one another. 🤣 We'd be better off asking GRRM or even Ryan Condal how it works.

Look at you, asking for inspiration and drive to finish you assignment. And then immediately after asking for distractions from your assignment. HMMMM
In other news, what's your favourite song or singer/group? 🎶
heyyyy look i’m doing my best 🙃
hmm, i’d say sleeping at last because ryan o’neal is a lot like me and I feel really inspired by his lust for life and learning, and deep introspection. plus, learning about all of the easter eggs and sound bites in his podcast makes me so happy. his atlas series based on the enneagram is my favourite 🤍 (atlas: nine is my soul in a song)
this is a great question, thank you! really need to get back into listening to singers and bands more (I’m more of a single song per artist playlist person tbh)
please let me know if you have any song/band/singer recs! 😍😍
maybe i’ll even add to my character playlists on spotify 👀 hehe

Normal Midnight Chaos
I am sitting in my dusty bed under my dusty mosquito net in my dusty town which I at once adore and is the bain of my existence. I am listening to my host mom softly snore from across the hallway (our bedrooms have windows to the inside of the house so you can always hear everyone). I am surfing youtube and happily settle on 1989 - Taylor’s Version she announced today comes out in October. I am so excited, i can remember so clearly blaring every song with Julia Cunniffe and Antonia Campagna, we just graduated high school and thought we were so cool.
Tumblr media
Haven’t seen these two in a while but just know if you were once my good friend - you hold a special place in my heart. Also this Newhall race was awesome it was so rainy and so many varsity girls fell down the hill. Then they made the course easier for varsity boys xD (losers)
Today was a strange day, although not unusual. All in all a typical Peace Corps day. Unlike most midnights, I am enjoying my 25 gigabytes a month to listen to 1989 and type up a hopefully-quality-blogpost. I can’t sleep. Possibly because of the brownies I made today with Ryan. Usually sugar doesn’t affect my body but I guess I ate too many (just 5?) brownies. I’ll blame the “chocolate-flavored chips” that we use for their cheap price. Who knows what those are made of. Or maybe it’s because I drank one teaspoon of instant coffee today. Or maybe it’s because there are so many striking, beautiful moments in my days, and also so many startling, uncomfortable moments. In addition recently we had a tragedy over here in Peru.
First I’ll tell you about my day. I woke up took out my retainers and opened my door… there was my 5-month old teenage kitten meowing at me right away. Michicucho followed me as I drank some boiled water - there was no milk :/ and ate a piece of french bread with REAL BUTTER!! I made my bed (wow!) and got out some baking items. Ryan Reynolds (I recently turned in a report and didn’t realize I referred to my site partner as Ryan Reynolds in it. His last name in Lenhart.) Ryan Reynolds showed up at 9:45 am to bake some brownies - despite being in Calango almost a full year this is probably only the second time we hang out just the two of us outside of work. So we talked about Peru and Peace Corps and our expectations vs reality. We are both happy to be growing as people and learning new perspectives and ways of life. Ryan’s a great person. Despite not hanging out, I did already know that. Now Peruvian ovens are tricky - they usually don’t reach as high temperatures so you need to bake your goods for a long time. Once they were finally done it was lunch time! After I ate 5 brownies and Ryan licked the bowl, he left with most of the brownies. My host mom came home with rice, mashed potatoes, and chicken soup from the comedor popular (like a soup kitchen). I made a lemonade - I can never get the lemon to sugar ratio perfect enough for my host brother! At this point I just try my best, there isn’t more I can do. And my host mom made me a fried egg to eat with the rice and potatoes. I’ve changed in a year because I did enjoy this lunch.
throughout the morning I was also checking in with my host mom and counterparts, because I had a meeting with the mayor at 12, but he was at a reservoir inauguration so i had to wait for him and my counterparts to return. After lunch (2 pm) I went to the municipality to wait for them. Finally I was able to present my community project at about 4 or 4:30 pm. Unfortunately, they are stressed, busy, and understaffed, so I was rushed through my presentation. My counterparts weren’t able to come because they had other work to do, in the room nextdoor, as well as because the timing was so impromptu. But the project was accepted. I mean, I’ll be applying to a Peace Corps grant, so who wouldn’t accept free outside money.  Then I tried to have a small meeting with my counterparts to assign some responsibilities in the project and agree on a timeline. But it’s pretty much iMPOSSIBLE to get even 3 of them in the same room for more than 7 minutes. Then I walked 30 seconds to one of my friends house’s to bs about work and life. We walked up towards a bakery by my house to drown my sorrows in some warm french bread. Then I came home, managed to open my front door with the key - We recently changed the lock and I haven’t been able to open it all week. I shared brownies with my host mom and brother, held my crazy cat, and watched my favorite tv show Al Fondo Hay Sitio. But in Al Fondo Hay Sitio there are some really idiotic characters, and today showcased characters who were racist or classist. So it was making me angry. Then I spoke with my creative and lovely friends Alex and Carmen on googlemeet (weird), and finally to my parents! Even though family can be so frustrating sometimes, FaceTiming my parents always brings me joy. Thanks guys, I miss you.
I put my laptop and myself under my thick blankets in case my typing is bothering my host mom. It’s now 12:41 am. Fortunately most people in Peru are very used to loud noise all over the place. So I’m probably fine. Actually the difference in acceptable public loudness in Peru is one thing that I … hate.
Everything I did today was pretty trivial, so why did I bother sharing it? Well, it just had so many moments of joy and hope. and so many moments of frustration, sadness, or anger. I think it all felt exaggerated in my mind due to the fake-chocolate-drugged brownies (am I old or allergic?)  Regardless, I finally felt today that my community project makes sense. All of the puzzle pieces came together. But there is also so little support for it. The people I am looking for don’t have a lot of time to give me. I can’t blame them for not wanting to do extra work which isn’t even in their job description.
I was going to talk about TRAGEDY in this post but it’s already a post on it’s own! Looks like that’ll be coming up. Don’t worry, I’m perfectly okay. And so is everyone I love.
12:57 am. Hopefully now I can sleep deeply.

(Valentina's POV)(Summary: Valentina is the 2nd oldest of Claire and Ryan's 10 children. She's married to Eric Townsend and they have 4 children, and she's currently pregnant)
Tumblr media
This pregnancy has been flying by! I'm now in my second trimester, at the end of my first trimester we had a heartbeat scan and were told by the nurse that I'm pregnant with twins! When they did the first scan the position of the babies meant that they only caught one heartbeat, so it was a pleasant surprise when they did that second scan and found 2. This being my second twin pregnancy back to back means that I've already experienced the usual growing pains that come with being pregnant with twins. I always wonder whether they'll be identical or not, my mother had 2 pairs of twins and both sets were identical. Abbott and Asher are identical, so I wonder if these two will also be identical or fraternal, I also wonder what the gender combination will be. I'd love to have girls for Aria to have younger sisters, two girls would take us to 3 girls and 3 boys which would also be great purely for the satisfaction of having even numbers of both. Whatever these babies are, as long as they're happy and healthy, I shall be grateful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the twins get older, I've been working to incorporate more school into their day so that they can start their school day with Aria and Ansel as they get older. Whilst the older two kids are doing their focused reading time or doing work that they don't need help with, I focus on reading to the toddlers to get them where I need them to be before the toddlers come and things get a bit more chaotic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We've recently got chickens and everyone is delighted! Before we got the chickens we had the kids study chickens in their science classes, and both Ansel and Aria helped build the chicken coop with Eric. Having the chickens will give us fresh eggs, right now we have two hens, one rooster, and a chick. We're hoping that to get hatchable eggs so we can increase the number of chickens without having to buy them. It'll also be a great opportunity to teach the kids science as to how animals reproduce and the different kinds of reproduction in animals. They will also teach the children responsibility, Aria and Ansel take turns waking up early and collecting eggs from the coop before they start their morning chores and breakfast. Eric is responsible for cleaning the coop due to the amount of effort it takes, and as the children grow older they can have more of an active part in chicken care.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's great to be able to go out and bond with the chickens, sometimes I'll go in and find some eggs that the kids might have missed. Other times I head out and bond with the animals, I recently read a book that said that the quality of eggs will increase as you bond with your chickens. The hens are a lot friendlier than the rooster, but we're hoping he'll come round. We haven't named them yet, but that's something we're assigning the children as a project to name the chickens we currently have.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Madelynn is the furthest in her pregnancy out of her, Sabrina, and me. Recently she had a baby shower, she and Carter chose to find out that they were having earlier on in her pregnancy. So when they found out they were having a girl, the ladies at their church hosted a baby shower for her as due to her first two children being boys, she had no girls clothes. My mother as well as Madelynn's mother were able to attend the baby shower which is such a blessing for her, this baby is my parent's 10th grandchild, and the 4th girl to be born into the family.
Tumblr media
She and Carter are so excited to have a baby girl, someone joked that Carter should start preparing his shotgun now for when the boys start to come calling for her a few years down the line. Madelynn is excited to have a little girl to dress up in frilly dresses and all the hairbows and hair ties that come with having a little girl. The boys are also excited to have a little sister, Lester has promised that he'll be her protector forever, which just melts my heart with how cute it is. Since the Crawford's are still in town, Sabrina and I are having our baby showers as a joint party in a few weeks. It's so exciting being pregnant at the same time!

Call Me By Your Name: Chapter 1
“Mommy.” Isabella’s small voice rang through the one bedroom apartment. Isabella was Amelia’s daughter. Ryan had passed but he had left Amelia with a daughter.
Isabella had Ryan’s dark hair but Amelia’s natural beach waves, with a perfect mix of bright and light blue eyes from both her parents.
Amelia had lost her job due to her drug habits with Ryan years before. She lived in a small one bedroom apartment with Isabella, no matter how hard it got Amelia made sure Isabella had food and clothes.
The clothes were mainly hand me downs and the food was not as great as it could be. Isabella being young still did not mind. Deep down Amelia wished she had been careful and cared more so that Isabella could everything that Henry or Zola and Bailey had.
“What do you want for breakfast beauty?” Amelia asked as she picked Isabella up.
“Pancakes.” Isabella gave Amelia a big smile, no matter how stressed, tired or worried Amelia got about their financial situation, looking at Isabella’s face gave her a reason to keep going.
She reminded her, Isabella was her baby and deserved the whole world. Isabella hadn’t asked for any of this and she wanted to be able to give her the world.
Amelia made pancakes as Isabella watched her, Isabella being young had no idea what kind of stress Amelia carried on herself.
Addison offered to let them stay at her house, Amelia did not want to admit defeat- but mostly didn’t want Isabella to grow up hating her for not being able to give her everything that Henry had.
“Mommy, we have to do this assignment for school so where did my name come from?” Isabella asked as she poured the syrup onto her pancakes.
“Well you first name is Isabella and I thought it was very pretty, then Ryan was your daddy’s name. I wanted you to have that as a part of yours.” Amelia smiled as she watched Isabella eat.
As Isabella ate, Amelia flipped through the pile of mail. Her heart raced and her palms sweat as she saw the amount of bills she had to pay.
She had a job as a waitress but that was barely putting food on the table and Amelia did not want to have to admit defeat.
In Amelia’s mind- she was a grown up with a child. She should be able to give Isabella the world.
-
Amelia quickly tied her apron onto her waist and grabbed her notepad. The worst part of this job was that sometimes people she knew would come and she would have to be their waitress.
A man with sandy blonde hair, ocean blue eyes and in a dress shirt and pants sat in the booth.
“Hi I’m Amelia, what can I get you to drink?” Amelia asked putting on her best smile, the nicer you were the better the tips.
“Hi Amelia, I’ll take just a coffee. Decaf please.” The man smiled, setting his menu down.
“Coming right up.” Amelia said as she mentally took note of his drink order before walking to the kitchen to grab it for him.
Amelia came back and slid the cup to him. He looked up and gave her a small smile, his blue eyes glistening when he did.
“What can I get for you?” Amelia asked as she took out her pen, clicking it so she could write.
“The pancakes and eggs. Eggs over-light please.” The man smiled closing his menu, handing it to Amelia.
“Coming right up-“ Amelia said pausing, realizing she didn’t catch his name.
“Atticus Lincoln, but you can call me Link.” Link said as he clasped his hands together.
“Nice to meet you Link. That will be right out.” Amelia said before sticking her notebook into her pocket and walking away.
As Link was getting ready to leave, he waved to Amelia and flashed her a smile.
Nice eyes, good hair, not that any of that mattered obviously. Amelia was trying to be present for Isabella.
“Bye Amelia.” Link called as he walked out the restaurant.
“Bye Link.” Amelia said quietly as the door shut.
It was late when Amelia got home, she hated late nights. They made her feel like she was missing Isabella’s life.
“Thank you. I’ll pay you back.” Amelia said as she sat her purse onto the small table.
“Don’t mention it. I love you guys.” Addison said pulling Amelia into a hug.
“Thank you still.” Amelia said.
“I’m out. She’s asleep.” Addison smiled, picking her purse up.
“Bye.” Amelia waved, walking to the bedroom. To see Isabella’s tiny chest fall and rise.
“I love you baby girl.” Amelia whispered, pushing a piece of hair out of Isabella’s face.
Amelia kissed Isabella’s cheek, before getting in the shower. Afterwards Amelia sat on the couch, trying to figure out how she was going to make it work this month.
Amelia felt tears roll down her face. She wanted to give Isabella the entire world. But she could barely keep food on the table and a roof over their heads.
“Mommy?” Isabella’s voice said as she clutched her teddy bear.
“Hi baby girl.” Amelia quickly wiped her tears.
“I missed you.” Isabella said crawling into Amelia’s lap, wrapping her small arms around Amelia’s neck.
“I missed you too baby. Mommy’s home now.” Amelia said running her fingers through Isabella’s beach waves.
“I love you Mommy. So much.” Isabella said sleepily.
“I love you more my Isabella.” Amelia kissed her cheek.

A Family Wedding - Part 4
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
Rating: Teen
Summary: Jenny meets her mums’ friends and the wedding is drawing to an end
Warnings: Some innuendo and the dagger makes another appearance, also consummation of alcohol
Words: ~3000
AO3
Tumblr media
Eventually, they made their way back to the party. The Doctor wanted to introduce her daughter to some of her friends and the Ponds had agreed that her and River couldn’t completely ignore their duty as hosts. Thus, Jenny spent the rest of the very long night talking to an endless number of people who were important to her mum in one way or another.
__
Bill and Heather immediately decided they were basically cousins and had to get together for space trips some time. Bill wrote her number onto a napkin and made Jenny promise she would get a phone so they could stay in contact. She also talked a lot about the eyebrows-version of her mum, saying it was a shame Jenny missed him. But at least now she got two badass mums and according to Bill, that was pretty perfect when it came to parents.
__
Missy, her mum’s best woman, casually mentioned she should abduct Jenny, as it would be the perfect leverage over her mum. This remark made Amy threaten her with the cake knife while Rory protectively put his arms around Jenny. Missy made a point of ignoring Jenny’s grandparents, promising Jenny would meet one of her regenerations again soon.
“Your mum is obsessed with me, Honeybunch” she said, trailing her nails over the blade of Amy’s knife thoughtfully, “I’m sure she will come running again with you in tow to foil my next brilliant plan. She can’t let me be on my own for a second. It’s quite embarrassing, really.”
She gave a little dramatic sigh at this, pushing the knife away to move past Jenny. “She just loves me so much.”
__
Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Petronella Osgood were luckily part of an earlier version of UNIT than the one, Jenny had enraged. They were fascinated by her and she had to describe in great detail how the machine worked that had birthed her.
“Now, Kate” the Doctor warned her when she walked by and overheard, “Don’t you dare try building that device. I will come and destroy it, I promise you.”
Prompted by Jenny’s heartbroken gaze she explained why she was against the machine, recounting how it had been used to produce soldiers, dispensable to die in a day.
“Maybe I should build one then, the next time you are not traceable, Doctor” Kate joked to the Doctor’s affront, “Just so you’ll come running.”
__
Clara tried teaching Jenny the names of her Gallifreyan relatives. Apparently, she had met some of the Doctor’s family when she had been something she called an ‘echo’. It was quite confusing, really, because the Doctor kept contradicting her and neither of them were really sure how many siblings, nieces and nephews Jenny had in total. It was still great fun to see them argue whether the people they remembered actually existed and how they were related to her.
__
Captain Jack Harkness got as far as introducing himself to Jenny, when the Doctor already shot in between them.
“Back off my daughter, Jack” she growled, pressing both her palms into his chest to physically keep him from touching Jenny.
“Your daughter?” Jack asked, his eyebrows wandering up to his hairline.
“My daughter, Jenny” her mum presented proudly, just to return to her strict voice the next second, “And you are not to flirt with her.”
“I was just saying ‘hello’!” Jack complained which made her almost strangle him.
“Ianto Jones” the man next to Jack presented himself to Jenny very softly, considering the wrestling couple with quiet confusion and some distress, “His boyfriend.”
“Ah” Jenny said, grimacing, “So sorry for this.”
That made Ianto smile.
“Right back at you” he murmured.
__
Martha and Mickey found Jenny, when she was sharing a piece of wedding cake with River, expressing their relief that Jenny seemed welcome in the family. They talked about Donna for a while and Jenny learned that their friend had lost her memories after saving the Earth from Daleks.
Her mum recounted how when the Doctor first met her, Donna had been there, too. They exchanged a few stories about her, unanimously deciding they would have loved to know her better. Martha and Mickey said they sometimes checked up on her.
"Only from afar, though" Martha sighed. "She can't see us or else her memories might get triggered."
She and Mickey then told Jenny about their job, how they were freelancers now, hunting hostile aliens.
"Sounds fun" River commented and Jenny had to agree.
"You could join us some time" Martha offered, "Both of you."
"Really?" Jenny asked delightedly, grabbing River's arm in excitement.
"Of course" Mickey grinned, "It always pays to have some backup."
They added their phone number to Bill’s on the napkin and promised to let Jenny know the next time they had an interesting assignment.
__
“How is everyone immediately adopting me?” Jenny asked Yaz, Ryan and Graham, when they had proclaimed her part of the ‘fam’ as soon as they heard she was the Doctor’s daughter.
She had already gotten the invite to travel with Bill and Heather, Clara and Me and to live with her grandparents, Martha and Mickey, Jack and Ianto, Sarah Jane Smith and even the Paternoster Gang, although she had tried to avoid them after the pudding incident.
"The Doctor is family" Ryan shrugged. "Which means you're family, too."
The other two nodded in agreement.
“And we all know you can use the support with her being your mother” Ryan continued with a low chuckle, and Jenny stared at him with wide eyes.
“It’s nothing bad” he hurried to appease, “The Doctor’s great, she’s just…”
“The Doctor” Graham finished, and Ryan nodded as if all was said now.
“She’s a little chaotic” Yaz tried to explain.
Graham snorted, “Yeah, right, a little.”
“And irresponsible” Yaz added, “And most of the time you can’t understand a thing of what she’s doing or saying. And the things she does…they tend to go wrong.”
“But she’s wonderful” Ryan said and the other two nodded again.
“‘Brilliant’” Graham said with a low chuckle.
“She’s the best person I know” Yaz ended with a smile and Jenny found herself returning it.
“And you’ll have River and me travelling with you” Yaz concluded, gently nudging her with her elbow, “We’ll take care of you and among the three of us, we’ll also manage to take care of her.”
__
Jenny was just talking to a head in a box and a nice couple owning an antiquarian bookstore, when her mums approached her. They were exchanging conspirative glances and the Doctor was hiding her hands behind her back, so Jenny immediately decided whatever they were up to was more interesting than the blonde guy’s obsession with easter eggs. She excused herself and made her way over to her mums.
“River said you might still feel insecure about whether the TARDIS is your home” the Doctor said without greeting, “So, I got you a gift.”
She revealed a tiny package from behind her back with great flourish. It wasn’t much bigger than her thumb, obviously wrapped in leftovers from her own wedding gifts. Without knowing what was inside, Jenny decided it couldn’t have been more perfect.
“Thank you” she beamed and hurried to open her present.
Unfortunately, that was almost impossible for the amount of tape her mum had used. Now that she paid attention to it, it became apparent the Doctor had fought quite the fight against the tape - strips of it were also sticking to her suit jacket and her forearms. One even made its way into River’s hair and Jenny dreaded the moment she would find out about it. Luckily, she missed it when she wordlessly reached into her hairdo upon seeing Jenny struggling. She pulled out the mini dagger again, handing it over to her. With its help, the tape and wrapping paper soon were torn, and a silver key fell into Jenny’s hand.
“It’s for the TARDIS” the Doctor explained. “Now you can come and go whenever you like and stay as long as you like.”
“And once I’ve shown you how to fly her you can also use it to take the TARDIS out on your own whenever you like” River supplemented, and the Doctor glared at her.
“Don’t you dare encourage Jenny to steal my TARDIS!” she grumbled, “It’s bad enough when you do it.”
Then she turned and beamed at Jenny again. “But yeah, pretty much: Welcome to the TARDIS!”
Jenny felt herself tear up a little, clutching the key tightly. It was real! She had a family and a home and she was welcome.
She pulled both her mums into a hug, smiling when they embraced her tightly.
“Thank you so much” she murmured.
Suddenly, an aggressive flash blinded her.
“Oops, sorry” Bill said, lowering a vintage looking camera from her face. “It wasn’t supposed to do that.”
She fumbled with the flash a little bit until Heather took over and switched it off. When Bill raised her gaze again and noticed the whole family was still staring at her, she blushed.
“Don’t mind me”, she said. “I’m just repaying a favour. Have been taking pictures all night. You will want something to remember this day by, Doctor. And yeah, I recalled what you did for me with my mum and thought…I should do that for you, too.”
She smiled sheepishly and the Doctor looked like she was about to melt.
“That is a lovely idea, Bill” River found, pulling Jenny and the Doctor close again to pose for another shot, “You know what? We should get my parents and do a proper family photo!”
“Did I hear family photo?” Jack said, miraculously turning up behind Bill with Ianto in tow. “Can’t do that without uncle Jack!”
“Oh, they most definitely can” Missy chuckled, appearing next to him. “This is not about you, puppy. It’s just for real family members. Like me.”
She pushed past him, positioning herself next to the Doctor and facing the camera with a thin but content smile. “I’m ready when you are, Loves.”
“Uh, yeah, that’s not happening” Jack decided, joining River’s side and slinging his arm around her waist, pulling Ianto with him into the frame.
While Bill shot the photo, Jenny could see more guests taking notice, some approaching them fairly quickly.
“Seems like everybody wants to have their picture taken with you” River whispered to her and Jenny chuckled.
“I am 100% certain it’s about you and mum” she answered although she couldn’t deny she felt important in the middle of the frame that more and more people crowded into.
“You should be in the picture, Bill” the Doctor called out when Sarah Jane was ushering a couple of teenagers and a metal dog to sit down in front of them. “If anyone’s family, it’s you! Just give the camera to Nardole.”
“Yeah, thank you, Ma’am” Nardole frowned. “Always a pleasure to know how much you appreciate me.”
He still took the camera from Bill and she and Heather hurried to the space the Doctor and Jenny cleared between them. It was a little tight now as Missy refused to budge but Jenny just threw one arm around River and the other around Bill and smiled for the photo Nardole shot of them.
It took a while until everybody who wanted to be in the photo had found their place and someone had tracked down a waitress to take the picture. In the meantime, a lot of quirky photos were shot by and of various combinations of the Doctor’s friends. Later they would be glued to the walls of the TARDIS hallways and Jenny would come back to them often to trail the faces of her mums’ loved ones and remember the night.
There would be a picture of Mickey and Martha kissing with Amy photobombing behind them, a picture of Wilf and Rory having exchanged their suit jackets and beaming like idiots and a picture of Jenny, Bill, Heather, Nardole, Yaz and Ryan in a group hug that Graham took as a very blurry selfie. There would be a picture of when Jack had decided to hoist Jenny onto his shoulders and another one of when Clara, Ryan and Yaz had followed suit, respectively carrying the Doctor, Graham and Bill on their backs with varying degrees of success.
Then there would be a picture of Jenny with her namesake which had made them giggle way too much, and another picture that the other Jenny had taken of her with Vastra and Strax, because ‘no-one would see the difference’. Which was an even sillier joke but made Jenny understand how much she liked the Paternoster gang after all. Especially because Vastra and Jenny had promised her fencing lessons between the shots.
There would be a picture of her mums kissing both of Missy’s cheeks simultaneously while Missy wore a decidedly unimpressed expression, a picture of Kate, Osgood, Martha and the Doctor trying to evoke an air of semi-professionalism as ‘UNIT-representatives’ that was completely ruined by the mess of people goofing around behind them and finally the Pond family picture River had asked for. They had to take three versions: one featuring Missy, one Jack and one on which both had begrudgingly left them alone.
But Jenny’s favourite photo would always be the one they took in the end, before everybody dispersed and went on to enjoy the party. The big group photo, with her mums in the focus and everyone surrounding them. The photo they took while she was standing right beside them, between her grandparents, Rory’s arm around her shoulder and Amy’s hand in hers and the happiest smiles possible on all their faces.
__
Then it was finally time to leave. Almost all the guests had gone and Clara and Ashildr were collecting the last of them in their diner-shaped TARDIS. All that was left now were Jenny, her parents and her grandparents.
“We’re taking…the kid…with us” Amy said. She was slurring and Jenny presumed she had found another bottle of vodka.
“No, why?” the Doctor complained, clutching at Jenny’s arm. She seemed a little drunk as well, although Jenny couldn’t fathom how. There had been next to no alcohol in the pink drinks. “I’ve let you have her the whole evening already.”
“Jenny will come visit us soon” Rory tried to reassure Amy. His ductus was considerably clearer than hers, but he was swaying a little as well. “She has promised, remember?”
Jenny’s hearts swell a little when she understood Amy must have recounted their discussion on the balcony to him. They’d been talking about her!
“We’re still -taking her” Amy decided, “Or do I needo…- do I need to remind you …what happened in our wedding night?”
“I did” River supplemented smirking. Rory went very pale while Jenny shrieked, hiding her face in River’s shoulder.
Her mum chuckled, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
“Go with your grandparents, Love” she advised, pulling her into a hug and kissing her cheek, when Jenny looked up at her, “Have a splendid night at their place and we’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Thanks, mum” she grinned, returning the kiss to the cheek. Then she turned around to the Doctor.
“We’ll come pick you up first thing in the morning” her mum said, holding her tightly, “I promise.”
“I know” Jenny murmured, amazed by how sure she was of that now, “Have a good night, mum.”
“Oh, she will” River said. The Doctror spluttered and Jenny tensed.
“Mu-um!” she complained, giving her a stern glance. Still, she couldn’t help smiling, when she added: “I hate you!”
River threw her head back laughing.
“No, you don’t” she said.
“We’ll be there tomorrow” the Doctor repeated when she let Jenny go.
“For once…-I am hoping, sh-she will be a month late” Amy murmured, pressing Jenny to her side and thus swaying her lightly.
“How about breakfast at the Ponds together? As a compromise?” the Doctor offered, and Jenny nodded quickly.
“That sounds perfect” she said, and her mum beamed at her.
“Breakfast it is, then” she decided, “Don’t you lot worry, I can bring the custard creams.”
“Yeah, give us till noon, though, Doctor” Rory mumbled, “I’ll need a lot of sleep now.”
“We’re not goingdo - going to sleep” Amy complained, “We’ll have an afda-afterparty. Movies,… facemasks, goss-gosspip.”
She pulled a face at her own slurring which made Jenny chuckle.
“Yeah, you don’t really b-believe that either” Rory commented, gently taking her arm and steering her towards Clara’s TARDIS. He stopped himself to yawn loudly and reach for Jenny’s hand. “Let’s get all of us to bed.”
They waved goodbye and then Jenny took Rory’s hand and followed her grandparents to the diner. Before they passed the TARDIS, she turned around one last time, seeing her mums standing in the ever-setting sun on Darillium. They were facing each other, River’s hand cupping the Doctor’s cheek, the Doctor’s hands on her shoulders and talking in quiet voices. They seemed perfectly comfortable with each other, exhausted, but happy, like they had finally arrived home after a very long journey.
‘We all have’ Jenny thought, when they started slowly kissing and she turned around to her grandparents again, ‘We’ve all come home now.’
Hey :) Thank you so much for reading this series! This is the end, at least of the wedding and of the story, but I’m sure Jenny is about to have many adventures with her mums. Thank you so much to everyone who has left comments, you are all incredibly kind! <3
And thank you so much @elsaistherelifeonmars for letting me play with your story! <3
This fic is inspired by ‘The Wedding of River Song’. Go, check it out, if you haven’t already :)

Batwoman has already covered quite a lot of ground in its second season, both through the introduction of Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), and the further expansion of the show's Gotham City mythos. In the first three episodes of the season, fans have seen that manifest in some epic Easter eggs and character introductions -- and it looks like that will soon come to a head in a major way. The CW has released a new synopsis for "Gore on Canvas", the fifth episode of Batwoman's second season. The synopsis, which you can check out below, hints at an ongoing storyline tied to the painting discovered on the cell phone of Kate Kane (Ruby Rose), which seems to have some sort of tie to Safiyah Sohail (Shivaani Ghai) and the pirate nation of Coryana. Interestingly, that painting was seemingly created by Jack Napier, also known as the Arrowverse's version of The Joker.
"THE SECRETS UNDERNEATH - Batwoman (Javicia Leslie) is approached by Commander Kane (Dougray Scott) and Agent Moore (Meagan Tandy) to boost an infamous work of art that reveals the way to Coryana - and Kate. Despite her reservations, Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Mary (Nicole Kang) convince Ryan to take the assignment, causing tensions within the Bat-team to escalate. Meanwhile, as Alice (Rachel Skarsten) attempts to fulfill Safiyah's (guest star Shivaani Ghai) insidious request, she slowly discovers that she may not remember everything about her time on Coryana. Norma Bailey directed the episode written by Daniel Thomsen."
The idea of Ryan's Batwoman having to work with The Crows is definitely interesting, especially considering the fact that the corruption within their organization is what led to Ryan being sent to prison years ago. That -- combined with the expectations The Crows might have of Batwoman, especially now that Jacob and Sophie know Kate previously served in the role, could lead to some messy dynamics.
"She's head-first at everything, and I actually love that about her," Leslie told reporters during a recent virtual press conference for the season. "I love how messy that can come across, because she has to find a way to hone it. She has to find a way to focus. But I think that that's what makes her so special, because she's very authentic. She's very raw. She's very grounded in her beliefs. And really, it's going to take root. It's going to take Mary to show her there's a bigger picture, and sometimes that bigger picture will not involve getting justice for your mother. That's the journey that she has to go on, to be able to forgive, or maybe she doesn't."

Red Notice Film Review of a Noob
(don't be harsh just an opinionated review and I just wanted to review it for the sake of broadening my vocabulary, welcoming criticism)
This film review is about the movie Red Notice it was released last year 2021. It is a 2021 American action-comedy film written, directed, and produced by Rawson Marshall Thurder and starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and miss Gal Gadot. Producer/Director Rawson Marshall Thurder who also directed many hit films or movies has come back with a new action-comedy film Red Notice acquired and distributed by Netflix.
Red Notice started in the year 2021, Special Agent John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson), a criminal profiler for the FBI’s is assigned to assist in the investigation for the potential theft of one of the eggs which was kept on display at the Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome. In the Museum Hartley revealed that it was a fake egg, and the real one has stolen already and before the room was sealed the number 1 art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) manages to steal the egg and escapes to his home in Bali but finds Hartley along with Interpol agent Das with his team there. They arrested him and took the egg in their custody but soon to realized that the egg was again stolen by another international thief who was also eyeing the eggs in the beginning. This international thief was called Sarah Black as The Bishop (Gal Gadot) who was disguised as one of the strike team members when they pursue thief Nolan Booth. With this incident Interpol Agent Das had Agent Hartley incarcerated in the remote Russian prison with Booth, which she believed that it is agent Hartley’s fault for this incident. And there started thief Nolan Booth and agent Hartley’s partnership in finding the rest of the eggs before Sarah Black wherein they have encountered several downfalls but, in the end, they have found the last egg but have been followed by agent Das and Sarah Black, and here thief Nolan Booth have found out that agent Hartley is not what he supposed to be but actually is also the Bishop who is a partner of Sarah Black.
In this movie there are ups, and downs just like in our world today it depicts how a person trusts and distrusts someone so fast. With the world that is full of doubts within you and outside of yourself. As I said there are ups and downs in this movie the struggle of the adventure of thief Nolan Booth and agent Hartley in finding the rest of the eggs. In this world nothing in life is easy, every person struggles it might be physical, emotional, spiritual, and many more these days it might be agricultural, economical, and it might be death itself but yeah, every person struggling to get by each day. Morally instated in this movie that every action has a consequence, and every action must be thought through don’t rush to do anything but the plan so you wouldn’t lose time by making one mistake and risk time if it matters. In the case of social issues in the movie, there is gender inequality, bullying, and poor leadership, and many others. I wanted to focus on this kind of social issue for this are the basic and everyone seems to know this kind of social issue. First is gender inequality in the past women are neglected by men, women are deprived of learning, working, and just always dependent on the men of the house. Here in the movie, it showed that it’s not that Sarah Black is being neglected or being looked down on by men. But for me, it seemed like men are still looking highly of themselves and not thinking that a girl can be badass or a fighter too. It showed here when Sarah Black got the information from the office worker or an officer. Second is bullying, anywhere or anyplace you can think of there is any kind of bullying like on the internet there is cyberbullying, in the workplace, there is bullying, for example, someone is being cornered to do something for him and he will take the credit for the work of his workmate that is one kind of bullying in the workplace. Here in the movie, it showed when Nolan and Hartley are eating in the cafeteria of the prison when Nolan keeps on cornering Hartley by saying that he is a cop when he is surrounded by enemies and they literally heard and someone comes forward to them and provokes him by throwing his food in front of him and Nolan gave his food to Hartley and the prisoner once again throw his food in front of Hartley then when Hartley stands up and calms the guy up the prisoner throws a punch at him. So, by the looks of this, it’s literally everywhere you go there is bullying. One thing I’ve learned in this movie is that even if you face many difficulties in life, the road is long. There will always be someone who will turn your world upside down and will hurt your self-esteem but always stand up whenever you go down. Even if life is full of challenges and struggles just know that there will always be someone who really cares about you and is willing to be there for you or to be with you.

Contrasting Roommates: Chapter 1
Contrasting Roommates
Chapter 1
Adam, Taylor, and I have been close since freshman year of college. Adam was my randomly-assigned roommate and Taylor lived one dorm over. After our first year of living so close, hanging out every night getting drunk on cheap vodka and hard seltzers, and playing dumb video games, there was no question that we had to get a place together sophomore year.
Being the mildly anxious and somewhat secretive person that I am, I still hadn’t come out to them by then and I still haven’t. For whatever reason, Adam and Taylor don’t question my lack of girlfriends or hookups and I’m glad for their aloofness. They, on the other hand, haven’t had any problems slinging all the pussy they desired. This wasn’t unexpected, given their good looks and toned, sculpted bodies. There was Adam: the tall, blonde, outgoing one, and then there was Taylor: the tall, brunette, also-outgoing one. It’s been difficult to not outwardly show my incredible lust for them these past couple years, but somehow, I’ve managed. I wouldn’t want to ruin such a close friendship.
At the start of sophomore year, the three of us finally started to move into our new apartment. Three bedrooms, a spacious living room, and a big kitchen. There were too many boxes to move and too much heavy furniture to maneuver up the stairwells; it was a difficult job, but we got it done. It was a scorching hot day and subsequently we were all dripping with sweat by the end of the move. As is tradition, all three of us decided to go shirtless to cool off. This wasn’t at all uncommon, as we were usually shirtless back in our dorm days anyway and of course I would never contest to it.
Adam looked at me up and down. “Lookin’ good Ryan.” He gave my side a little squeeze.
Taylor looked at me up and down. “Yeah man, looks like you had a good summer.” He gave my nipple a little squeeze (although he does that to everyone because he’s an idiot).
I couldn’t help but think about this interaction for the rest of the night. Were they implying that I gained weight? I thought I was still as toned as Adam and Taylor. I went into my new bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror after our first night of drinking and eating too much pizza. It dawned on me that I had in fact gained weight over the summer, although the pizza and beers didn’t help. 10 pounds? 15? I didn’t own a scale, although my parent’s scale last clocked me at 165. I guess that’s what a lazy summer can do to you, whatever. I’m not the type of guy that would let it get to me.
The next morning, I woke up and walked next door to McDonald’s for a couple of sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits and a couple of hashbrowns, a habit I had started at the beginning of summer. I arrived back to the apartment only to be greeted by Taylor eating his morning granola bar. Sad.
“Whatcha got there Ryan?”
“Food,” I said.
I sat down and enjoyed my first breakfast in our new apartment. Adam emerged from his room, shirtless like the usual, and went into the pantry for a bagel. He, like Taylor, noticed my McDonald’s.
“Ah, that explains it,” Adam said as I finished my last hashbrown.
Of course, there was evidence of two breakfast sandwich wrappers and two more for the hashbrowns.
“Mmmhmm,” I responded while chewing.
I went back to my room to take a shower. Bloated from breakfast, I again noticed my newly forming beer belly and gave it a pinch. I never had the freshman fifteen so who cares, this could be my sophomore fifteen.
After the shower, I went back to the living room shirtless, as is the norm with my two friends, and Adam and Taylor gave me the same looks that they did the day before. Adam, sitting on the couch, laughed as Taylor came up behind me and jiggled my belly.
“Hey big boy,” Taylor said jokingly.
I laughed along as my body shivered with desire from Taylor’s touch.

folklore: a gathering of Taylor’s narrative threads
Taylor uses callbacks, iterations, and echoes of imagery, characters, melodies, ideas, and language from across her work throughout folklore as a way to bring her entire history, career, and catalog into focus.
folklore is a gathering of narrative threads that traverses the genres, motifs, and themes of Taylor’s oeuvre, personal history, and the reputation and rumors both self-created and not. From familiarity and home, referenced in clothing, porches, towns and cities, to the exile and banishment of lost crowns, fallen kingdoms, and burials, Taylor maps a search for belonging, safety, and acceptance that began in childhood. With wishes and what-ifs in the form of pennies, movies never made or all too familiar, and hauntings, she wages war with weaponized tears, ships sunk by loose lips, and desperate dreams of epiphanies that will somehow make the stones and burdens gathered worthwhile or worth bearing. She has always known everything about her essential self from when she was young, despite people assuming she couldn’t possibly; her fight is for that self.
The love triangle highlights a career of constant relocation of narrative and perspective, shifting protagonists, subjects and pronouns. The names of characters appear designed to inspire literal connections to Taylor’s life yet defy autobiographical assignment; listeners are clearly meant to associate Betty with the infamous heiress Rebekah “Betty” Harkness who owned the Watch Hill house as well as Karlie Elizabeth Kloss, known baker and keeper of an edenic gated garden. Taylor is known to be named for James Taylor, and over the years allusion to an invisible, fated thread to Kloss, whose namesake is James Taylor’s lover Carly Simon, and whom industry contacts long said had much in common with Swift. Inez only makes sense when fans and a flurry of publications remind us that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have named two of their daughters James and Inez... which ultimately does seem intentional because Lively and Reynolds have been fixtures in Taylor’s public live and Easter Eggs. TLDR; “betty” is from James’s perspective when James addresses Betty while "standing in your cardigan." This makes “cardigan” told from Betty’s perspective; James returned to put her on like an old cardigan just when she was feeling her lowest - and James has returned to tell Betty that Betty is James’s favorite. Who puts the cardigan on in the music video? Taylor.
Talks of illicit affairs, dying in secret for love, and infidelity are given a layer of protection by the album concept; allusions to Scooter Braun cheating on his wife, a woman resembling Kloss who chooses not to wear the perfume for her man when she meets for secret trysts for her lover, and more skirt any violations of Non-Disclosure Agreements, libel, and the like. For those who believe Taylor’s years of singing about a secret love not accepted by society for which she is willing to die is tied to her public statement that she and her lover decided to keep their love private and is at odds with the parade of very public boyfriends, folklore is a reclamation of her narrative. Whether you believe she has been in a closeted relationship with Karlie Kloss since 2013 or that the two were star-crossed lovers torn asunder, there is room for both interpretations in Swift’s music.
folklore is Taylor refusing to have her reputation write her narrative. Instead, she takes the rumors and gossip, the whisper networks of those Othered and oppressed, and enshrines them in a web of truth and fantasy, the ultimate act of feminist reclamation.
