(inspired by this twitter post)

not 100% sure how we got here, but was talking about trying to relay that quote in the post ("you will always need to leave and i will never let you go.") to aziraphale and crowley, and i was told to post my thoughts on it on here

to aziraphale, crowley is the one who seems to need to leave. he has been trying to escape, from heaven and from their responsibilities and from the plan. crowley, in aziraphale's mind, is trying to escape, but aziraphale is clinging to both him and heaven, not wanting to let him go

to crowley, aziraphale is the one trying to leave. he's trying to abandon crowley, leave and go to heaven where crowley cannot follow, and all crowley can do is beg for him to stay and hope he isn't abandoned once again

but in reality, neither of them can see the truth of the situation because both of them are too clouded by their perceptions

crowley is incapable of returning to heaven, just as aziraphale is incapable of leaving

the bird tries to fly away, desperately wanting the dog to fly with him but not understanding that the dog does not have the wings to follow. the dog does not understand that the bird is waiting for him to follow, and all he perceives is the bird flying away from him as he struggles to make him stay

they are both in each role, equally the same yet more different than they can comprehend

Me: *practically vibrating with excitement* So two of my favourite shows are basically very gay Bible fanfictions where demons are dicks but the Angels are even bigger dicks. Except there is one Demon and one Angel that are almost always good. The Angels in both of them are autistic coded. And their love interests probably, very likely have ADHD. But that's not important. Both of them are biblical satire and did I mention they are Gay? Because they are! Very much so. Also, another one I Iike is about an Alien who travels in a blue telephone box....

Ok so this is probably a coincidence but i thought it was interesting nonetheless

So i was rewatching s1 and there's this scene where Death is playing a general knowledge quiz in one of these arcade game machines, and i was curious to see the different questions so:

Excuse the quality but the question is "Which animal typically has the longest lifespan?" and one of the (wrong) answers is "aardvark"

Which, well

Yeah, Crowley, i very much hope for yourwell being that you're NOT an aardvark

As i've said, this is probably a coincidence, but why an aardvark?? Why such a specific animal??

I mean, good omens isn't gonna end badly (right? ha. haha. ha). Buuut, i'd very much love a s3 scene where Azi believes Crowley's dead. ...So? Foreshadowing? Maybe? Probably not, but cool anyways

Things would probably be easier for both of them if Aziraphale didn't keep showing up on Earth, or if Crowley didn't love him so much, or if his touch didn't burn like holy water, but they try to figure out how to fix things anyway. It doesn't go as well as it maybe could.

Content warnings for references to shakespeare, some sexual content, and character death.

First chapter is up now, second is in progress, and I aim to finish the third tomorrow so I can post it friday.

What if Aziraphale knew Crowley before the Fall? What if in Heaven, the two of them were inseparable, never leaving each other's side?

But Crowley wanted more. He wanted to create, to know God's Plan. And Heaven could not allow it. So he fell, and as punishment Heaven made Aziraphale forget him... Eons of memories gone in a day.

The excommunication process proceeded without objection. And Crowley was damned to remember every second he'd loved the man that was now a stranger.

Crowley wept, but not for himself. He wept for what they had lost. One day without Aziraphale would hurt more than an eternity in Hell.

Slowly but surely, Crowley grew used to damnation. But he was never far away from his angel. He looked after Aziraphale, longing for what they once had, but still he kept his distance, ashamed of what he'd become.

No one could love a demon. Not even Aziraphale.

Centuries came and went, along with all the qualities that Crowley believed had once made him holy. He rebranded, even changing his name, and tried to forget all that came before. But he couldn't. He didn't want to.

There came a time that a snake was stationed in Eden, as was a certain Angel of the Eastern Gate. After a hard day's work of tempting, the snake spotted the angel's solitary form at the crest of the wall, against the backdrop of the coming storm. The snake knew this was his one chance to salvage something from their past lives. So he slithered up the stone steps and introduced himself as Crowley.

Aziraphale hadn't recognized him, of course, but Crowley was received with more warmth than he would have expected. The angel didn't turn him away or cast him out like the rest of his kind. He treated him with respect.

Crowley fell for the second time that day. He hadn't thought his love for the angel could grow any deeper. But it had.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

These little clandestine meetings continued throughout the ages, with Crowley hoping against hope that something in his face or in his voice would trigger a memory of a forgotten time. But it never did.

Crowley refused to give up hope, for even a blind man could see that their love was alive. All it would take is one spark to rekindle the flame, one breath to fan the flames of passion lying dormant just below the surface.

There would never be another angel like Aziraphale. And some things were worth waiting an eternity for. So Crowley gave Aziraphale the time and space he needed to think it over, trusting that in the end, their love would outlast even an angel's faith.

Hey can we talk about the fact that episode 5 literally physically showed us how Aziraphale and Crowley dance around issues or problems until they become incredibly dangerous or threatening to one or both of them

Like Crowley was desperately trying to tell Aziraphale what he'd seen but Aziraphale didn't listen until a fucking rock flew threw his window

Oh, and then there was the whole Metatron bullshit

Like neither of them are 100% at fault for it obviously

And yeah it's really easy to blame Aziraphale for leaving

BUT IF CROWLEY HAD TOLD HIM WHAT HE'D SEEN IN HEAVEN AT LITERALLY ANY FUCKING POINT DURING THE CONFESSION, IF HE HAD TOLD AZIRAPHALE "HEY THEY'RE PLANNING A PART TWO TO ARMAGEDDON, LIKE THE BIG ONE IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN WITHIN AT MOST A FEW YEARS" LIKE MAYBE THINGS WOULD HAVE PLAYED OUT DIFFERENTLY I DONT FUCKING KNOW

And again this isn't their fault cuz Heaven's shitty and there were a lot of other factors and shit but like

Fucking Hell they'd better learn to communicate in Season 3

Maggie and Nina need to lock those two in a room and not let them out until they fucking learn how to TALK TO EACH OTHER
