wow. WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW. i cannot believe what i have just watched. i genuinely think that might be my favourite movie of all time

there was SO much i liked about it like the animation, the music, the character arcs, the design and a lot more

idk i can't properly word my thoughts bc i feel like everyone else said all the important deep thought-provoking stuff i can just say it was such a needed movie

like... THE ORIGIN OF LOUISE'S BUNNY EARS!!! wdym bob's mum used to wear a pink hat and he got inspired by that to make it for her i'm in tears tf (also she's absolutely swana fight me on this) and her whole thing in general about being brave!!! she rllt got hurt by being called a baby and tried to prove herself in any means possible

and tina!! her summer-boyfriend thing was actually cute (despite it being j*mmy jr) and her actually having doubts and second thoughts omg that made me so happy

gene my musical son!!!! he was so worried abt his musical talent and it made me so sad tbh :^(

GROVERRRRRRR is an icon is a legend is the moment sorry not sorry he ate-- like the animation (don't get me wrong it popped off the entire time) just was SO GOOD whenever he was onscreen it made me so unreasonably happy

so so so aesthetically pleasing i tell you. my favourite locations have to be felix's house (not the treehouse, the actual house) and the fancy bar/hideout place

the scene underground when they were being buried alive in the clam car made my heart WRENCH like when bob was talking about not giving up and louise was feeling bad abt herself and the hat thing

AND!!!! when redoing the banner on the restaurant and u cld hear a slowed version of the theme song i teared up a little--

“Rosebud. . . is that S'more's shirt?” Prismarine grunted, looking the pale yellow anthro-mare up and down disapprovingly.

Rosebud hugged the soft sky blue "Dog Dad" t-shirt to her defiantly, it was far too short and thus overlapping her slim black turtleneck, but wearing it felt like Toasted Marshmallow was there with her, wrapping her in a warm hug.

“It's warm and comfy like his hugs, and he hardly wears it anymore, which I think is a shame, but at least that means I get privilege to it.” The truth was that she had privilege to any of his shirts or jackets that she fancied, this one she just had the most access to, but such wasn't worth mentioning.

Of course knowing only of what she'd just told them, all present could accurately guess that for themselves, S'more was amazingly tolerant and no doubt didn't mind one bit her flaunting his appearal for herself.

“So you do this often, huh?” Diamond Crest smirked. Rosebud shrugged. “Usually at home. . .at night - it's amazing to sleep in, believe me. I just decided not to bother with fashion for once, I think I can put comfort before beauty every once in awhile, don't you?” She asked almost challengingly, plopping down into her seat.

Prismarine, Blossom, and Diamond each made little noises of agreement, ranging from indiffrent to very adamant. “I think it's adorable.” Blossom practically purred after a moment.

Diamond Crest nodded, crossing her arms. “Does this happen the other way around?” She asked teasingly, making Blossom and Prismarine choke on nothing but spit.

Rosebud blushed softly and snorted a laugh. “Yes actually, I mean sometimes he'll sleep in mine too, with my more neutral shirts of course, and they're way too big on him, but ohhh-” Her heart hitched as she remembered how cute she thought he had been all those nights, balling her hands and flapping them girlishly against her cheeks. “-its the cutest thing!”

She sat in fluttery lovestruck while two out of the other three mares tried to ward off what was to them, uncomfortable mental images.

“She's still got it bad.” Enchanted Blossom teased, unfazed towards such things unlike the easily flustered unicorn and the pastel pegasus who was uncomfortable with anything pertaining to romance.

Everyone suspected the couple would act like newlyweds even when they were old and grey, a prospect that Rosebud wouldn't mind coming true.

From then on the group of mares moved on to talk of other things, moving about Ponyville in a happy quartet well versed in the work of blazing every creatures trail.

"S'more. . .is that Rosebud's shirt?"

"So what if it is?" Toasted Marshmallow S'more asked, answering Strawberry Sundae's exasperated question, glancing at the hot pink turtleneck that was too long on him, but luckily not baggy.

"Because it's bright pink." Meteor Star huffed, face planting into his hand and glancing around as if hoping no one walking along noticed his association with this neon abomination before him.

"So am I." S'more pointed out with a cheeky grin, flicking his two-toned pink forelock.

Strawberry could only sigh, shaking his head and sharing an eye-roll with Meteor. "You weirdo. . ."

joshua frowns at your words, turning to face you with indignant hands placed on his hips. you’re paused in the doorway, cradling two mugs of hot chocolate and extra marshmallows, and he’s standing in front of a heaped pile of… bedding.

“you can tell i’ve never done this before, huh?” he sighs, accepting defeat. you smile, and pick your way through the pillows strewn over the living room floor, setting the mugs on the coffee table.

“it’s a little obvious,” you agree, already reaching for the pillows and the blankets, arranging them so swiftly that joshua can barely keep up with what you’re doing. “my older sister used to help us make them,” you continue, the faintest of smiles pulling at your lips, tinged with nostalgia. “taking it down was like, the worst thing ever.”

joshua can’t help but grin at the thought of a tiny you, scrambling under blankets with your siblings and clutching the childhood teddy you’d shown him once. he likes it when you talk about yourself — whether it’s memories or hopes or the coffee you ordered this morning. he wants to know it all; he can’t get enough of you. he doesn’t think he’ll ever get enough.

before he can slip too deep, he’s jolted out of his reverie by you calling his name, and to his surprise, you’re finished; already crawling into the blanket fort and gesturing for him to join you.

he doesn’t, though. he looks at you first — a long moment, the smallest of smiles curving his lips, his head tilting sideways. if this was a cartoon, he thinks to himself, i’d have hearts in my eyes.

“what?” you say, suddenly growing shy and swiping at your upper lip. “is there hot chocolate on my face?”

“no,” joshua says, finally sitting next to you. he doesn’t explain. just smiles and cups your face in his hands — and kisses you, firm and gentle all at once.

and then he pulls away, lips drifting to a satisfied smirk; like he hasn’t just left you breathless in the space of a minute. “i love you,” he says, to your slightly stunned features. “and you taste like hot chocolate.”
