I think Lancelot would be the only knight to immediately protect Merlin when his magic was revealed if he was around in s5. Gwaine and Merlin friendship seems strained he seems to hate magic and all the other knights also hunt magic users with no problem

Yepp, I wholeheartedly agree, Lancelot would either go all out, or he'd try to make them see reason...depends on which way it'd go(or which way it'd have gone, only if writers were brave enough, but damn! I can just imagine Arthur, his wife loves this man, his best friend told him his biggest secret, uh uhh, Lancelot bro, I'd run!)

But others, in Disir episode, Percival was making fun of all the hangings, and people write him as sympathetic, same goes for elyan...

So two people who'd support Merlin are Lancelot (if he didn't die) and Mordred, both would hesitate to draw their weapon, of that I have no doubt. But they'd support Merlin.

I'm obsessed with this so I need to write it down : AU where merlin has to reveal his magic to save them all but it's very very likely he will die so he turns to Lancelot and says "My name, can you remember my name? ". Arthur & the others knights are confuse but Lancelot understand what it means. Sorcerer aren't allowed to have a burial, they never even get a trial. Thus their name are never written down, forgotten like their ashes in the wind.

"I will"

He will, he will speak of it and one thousand years later no one will remember the greatest sorcerer to ever walk the earth by the name Emrys. They will only know Merlin.

Lancelot and Merlin is the healthiest relationship on the show. Seeing Merlin so unafraid to be around Lancelot and be able to show his true self is a beautiful thing. He even hid stuff from Gaius all the time. When Merlin was with Lancelot, it always seemed like that huge load on his shoulders disappeared. This friendship was so refreshing.

Lancelot accepted every part of him and he died for him. Lancelot didn't want Merlin to sacrifice his life for Arthur so he chose to take his place. HE DID IT FOR HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH MERLIN AND THAT IS WHAT MAKES HIS DEATH SO MUCH WORSE.
