Everyone asking about the Royal Gay au meanwhile I'm just gremlining in the corner waiting for anything related to Re8:TRP bc I don wanna ask about it and potentially annoy you

Hmm, okay I've got a particular scenario in my mind:

Okay, imagine post re8, when Ethan forgot about saving reader, died, then came back to life with realisation that he forgot about you, so he "saves" you but you're too pissed at him (rightfully) and tell him that as soon you get out of the village, you're moving out because you can't be around him and Mia since Rose will always be a priority for them and you can't risk losing more of your sanity and self respect.

To which Ethan says "Oh... request denied😃" and then proceeds to kidnap you and take you home, where Mia has started to realise how important you are to the smooth functioning of this dysfunctional family and agrees with Ethan about keeping you locked up in your room.

They both think that you're just acting this way because you're "a little jealous" of the attention they've been giving to Rose. And you're being "totally unreasonable" because Rose is a baby, she needs them more than you do.

It never even occurs to them that you hate them because of all the abuse they've subjected you to all these years.

They don't understand why you're being so rebellious right now? Throwing away the food they cook for you, refusing to eat anything, screaming at them to let you go, trying to break the chains around your feet.

When will this "phase" of yours end?

Mia thinks it'd be rather better if they gave you silent treatment and ignored you and your basic human needs- yeah, that'll teach you to not bite the hand that feeds you.

Ethan on the other hand, doesn't agree with that (mostly because he's incapable of ignoring you now that he's become a yandere). He thinks you just need to remember all the good times. So he goes to the store to look through some very old boxes to find your old journals. He remembers seeing you writing in them as a kid, and if memory serves him right, you still used to write in them.

Pulling out the dusty old box with your name on it, he picked out a journal and began flipping through them.

Hours later, Mia entered the house, only to find Ethan in the store room, absolutely bawling his eyes out.

"Ethan? Hun? What's wrong? Is Rose okay?" Mia asked, immeadiately crouching down to hold him.

Ethan just hugged hia wife, crying into her shoulder. "S-she hates us, Mia."

"What?"

"She hates us! Y/n hates us!" Ethan cried out, pointing at all the journals. Picking one up, Mia began reading them.

I hate mom. I hate her. I hate her. I hate her. I hate her-

The words continued for several pages, before moving onto Ethan.

Dad- I never thought I'd hate him, but I hate him even more than mom. How could he- how could he ignore my croes for help? Am I that unimportant to them? Or just unlovable?

I hate dad, I hate him so much.

I wish he was dead. Wish they were both dead.

Mia's mouth fell open, completely in disbelief that you would say something like that. And more than one time. In fact, several of your notebooks were just filled with words of hatred for your parents.

Ethan went out for a walk, telling Mia he just cant be around all of this right now, asking her to get rid of all the journals for him. Mia just nods, her mind somewhere else.

While Ethan is taking a walk in the park, wondering how to change your mind about him and Mia, his wife has decided to take a different strategy to make you regret those words.

Currently, your head is being held under water as Mia flushed the toilet bowl once again.

You gasped for her air as she yanked your head up again. "You un-fucking-grateful brat! How fucking dare you wish death upon your own parents?! I'm gonna make you wish you were dead-!" She screamed as she pushed your head back in the water.

"MIA!" Ethan yelled, pulling his wife off you, as you came up, coughing up the water that got in your lungs. "What the fuck?!"

You're wrapped up in a towel, sitting in your room, a chain still around your foot, as you hear Ethan and Mia arguing downstairs.

Arguing over their "parental strategies" for you.

Arguing over you.

You smiled a little. You never imagined they'd ever take the time to argue or even talk about you.

And all it took was your sanity.

I just know this how they be arguing:

Mia: What the hell, Ethan?! You said you wanted to try the "good cop. Bad cop."thing!

so wait. the whole point of utena is what womanhood is and queering that gender for the sake of lesbian/sapphic love. in your transmasc AU, do you just make utena a man? because i feel like that fundamentally detracts from the OG themes. i think utena is definitely some flavor of transmasc personally — utena uses masculine pronouns in the show — but it reads as butch rather than manhood, and i think that’s intentional. not mad or trying to insult you — we need more trans rgu takes! — i would just be curious about your takes in regards to how that au meshes/does not mesh with the original work

I knew this was gonna take a longer response when I saw the "so wait." / light hearted

to get this out of the way, in canon I'd say utena was a nonbinary/genderfluid lesbian,, I don't mind if people see her as cis, that's just the vibe I get from what she expresses in the show. All interpretations are correct 👍

So the transmasc au is a purely self indulgent thing, it's influenced exclusively from my own experiences and feelings.

The main question of this idea comes from rgus probably most used line, "if a girl cannot become a princess she's destined to become a witch." We kind of get the answer for that one. But if a boy can't become a prince? If that boy was a girl who's now completely failed to become a princess?

I'd say the themes stay the same, becoming princesses or rose brides is still forced onto utenanthy despite them being boys now. They still experience what they would if they were girls, it just cuts deeper because they know it's because they're being seen as girls.

Despite being transmasculine they're still forced into feminine roles. For anthy the whole time, even by utena, and for utena by akio who essentially would try to detransition him.

I think about anthy the most tbh bc as soon as he thinks he's free from being the rose bride he's forced into another role that's just as constricting. (Being a prince) does also apply to utena

Utenanthy would still be a very queer relationship, I'd maybe still call it sapphic idk I can't see them being attracted to other men. guys who are lesbians. T4T relationships are unidentifiable. <3

I personally like when Curt is one of Peter's profs in college, which I was kinda expecting in the Insomniac game. It was mentioned in the first game that Peter was a teacher assistant at the ESU and I thought it was for Curt's classes. I think it would've added more emotional weight in Peter's quest to cure Curt in the second game, and would make players more invested if they've had some history together besides the Lizard thing. They didn't need to be super close, but Curt could've been someone that Peter respected and was familiar with.

I'm very happy overall with what we did get in the Insomniac sequel game with Curt and he's definitely one of my favourite versions, but I was also disappointed when his intro scene at the EMF seemed to confirm that he and Peter don't have a relationship between their civilian identities, regardless of whether Curt knows he's Spider-Man or not; like you, I also thought that given Peter having been a TA, the official blurb for the Lizard on the PlayStation site saying they had first met in college (which could be interpreted in a few different ways), and how Peter obviously really cares about him in the gameplay preview that we were going to get them being close outside of Spider-Man things and that Curt was one of his ESU professors, but I guess not; it's also weird bc there was a post-release interview where they talked about how what makes the Spider-Man villains great is their personal relationships with Peter, and they specifically cited how Connors has that element of oh, he's not just a monster to beat up, but also Peter's professor whom he really likes and doesn't want to hurt, though I guess they were speaking more generally there.

At the very least, I think it would have been helpful to have a character bio provide more background information bc we really don't know much about their history and relationship, and every cut scene they had was focused on advancing the plot rather than developing their relationship - which is fine, but I do think it's part of a broader issue with the game feeling rushed and underdeveloped at times, especially in the third act, and I would have loved if they had some more personal scenes together outside of the Lizard campaign.

Something else that felt a little muddled was how there were moments where I wasn't sure if Peter actually cared about Curt for Curt's sake bc Peter does see him as a friend (beyond Peter being a hero who helps everyone) or if he only cared about him as a means to an end to help Harry, if that makes sense? Like in the church scene when he says, 'I'm just here to save my friend', it makes the most direct sense for him to mean Curt, but then I was like, wait, does Peter even see him as a friend in this universe, and if not, does he mean he's just here for his actual friend Harry and the serum only matters in the sense of bringing Curt back to help him? Especially considering how after the failed zoo rescue, the trio doesn't seem too concerned about Curt being stuck as the Lizard until they realize they need him to help Harry, which is weird writing, now that I think about it.

Anyway, I wonder how much of the seeming lack of closeness may be due to the fact that they didn't want to repeat a mentor relationship like the one the first game had between Peter and Otto, with the irony being that the Peter and Otto relationship in the Insomniac games is just like the Peter and Curt one in the 616 comics and some adaptations, namely the 90s animated series; I think it's completely possible for Peter to have two mentors in different areas though, instead of only one or the other - but I also wonder how much was also bc they had him be an Oscorp scientist involved with the symbiote, possibly with a previous day job as a medical doctor until the Lizard thing, and couldn't have him be a professor as well; I'd love to know at what point they decided to have him tied to that plot bc the symbiote was obviously there all along, and it's common in adaptations for Connors to be the symbiote expert, but I can't tell if he was linked to it from the start or if they had other possible ideas for him until deciding on that one.

hi🥰 i'm actually new to the HPI fandom and i wanted to say that i really love your profile (esp. karadec x morgane stuff bc reasons). i wanted to talk about THAT scene™ in 207 when morgane, after the dance, left her finger prints on the wall as a direct parallel to something clearly sexual. it's probably the only thing i'm gonna talk abt for the rest of my life so thank you. anyhow, during the dance scene we can all see there was a light above them and afterwards when karadec leaves the house, in both scenes morgane and karadec are left in the dark (ex. m'house and k'car). could this be a sign that these two when together bring light (happiness) to each other and when they are apart are left alone in the dark? plus: when morgane is in the dark while writing karadec's card she is holding her phone with the flashlight on and she said (for the first time) out loud "je t'aime karadec". i'd like to read your opinion. sorry abt the long ass rent🥺

I really like your theory about lights and how it symbolizes the way Morgane and Karadec feel around each other! 😍😍 It clearly makes no sense for Morgane to be plunged in the dark after the dancing, so yeah, I dig the idea it’s here to emphasize her loneliness and isolation with respect to the rest of the team (whose names are already all on the card while her isn’t yet? Idk), so the fact that she confesses “Adam je t’aime” under the flashlight is sort of a lifeline for her? A tiny sliver of hope and light in her surroundings of darkness, and I --

And as for Karadec, yes, he goes back to the dark morosity of his car, and I LOVE that we get to see his POV of the aftermath as well 😍

Although I don’t know if you noticed how the floor lamp just magically dimmed out by itself when they started dancing, so perhaps it’s not so much the light in itself rather than the fact that they’re in it? The ceiling’s lightbulb bathes them both in its warm light while the flashlight is projected onto something else, you know?

I don’t know, I guess at this point I’m just a garbling pile of goo who’s tring to recover from getting hit in my own inbox by sentences like “these two when together bring light (happiness) to each other and when they are apart are left alone in the dark” 💔

i've spent so much of my life giving chance after chance, letting myself feel neglected bc i convinced myself i was asking for too much and being too needy. but i'm not. and i've just...run out of patience. i could die tomorrow and i'd have spent my whole life waiting to feel loved bc i never asked for more, never set standards for myself. i let myself be used emotionally by ppl who take but never bring that energy back around. when it's my turn to be taken care of, i'm always on my own. i don't want to be anymore.

i can't keep begging ppl to consider me worth the effort. i can't keep holding ppl's hands and walking them through the process of giving a shit, esp when i know that they know, see them doing it with others. i'm not talking about communication. i'm talking about begging. when you've stated, plainly, many times, that you need help during an extremely difficult time, when you've voiced exactly what kind of support you need, and no one steps up...i've kept up my end of the bargain, i've reached out. there were so many times where someone grabbing a prescription for me, or spending a little time on a call with me would have meant the world. this wasn't a secret. at a certain point the only conclusion anyone can make is that people just don't care. at a certain point your needs aren't being met and you've been neglected. i don't want to feel this way anymore, so i'm moving away from people who make me feel that way.

ever since i stopped begging for love i've found it in places i didn't expect. i've taken note of who listens, who takes me seriously and seems to enjoy my company, who follows through rather than doing the bare minimum and treating me like a chore or a background character in their own story, who doesn't respect my time or how it might feel to be stood up or rejected again and again...and i found that there are people out there who give enough of a fuck about me to show it, and i had been ignoring them focusing so much on the people who didn't. and i've been so, so much happier since i stopped focusing on what i didn't have, and invested energy in the friendships that feel the most fulfilling. it was hard for a bit, but i don't feel alone for the first time in like a year.

Obsessed with the possible dynamics that the West Country princess that got teased might have with Arthur. There's so much potential there. Like Arthur basically doesn't have anyone in the plot who's truly his equal in both status and age, so I DESPERATELY want the princess to have SOME interesting thing going on with Arthur. Like. They could be rivals? Since their countries are on very tenuous terms right now, that would be interesting--maybe the princess believes in the currently-en-vogue idea of wizard obsolescence, and so is indifferent or dismissive of Arthur's aims for wizard integration. She could hate wizards outright, altho I think that would be boring lol and doesn't reeeaaally fit West Country, since they tend to have more multifaceted ideas about wizards that depend a lot on both the person and wizard in question. It would be really interesting if she was like, interested in wizards--in, you know, that kind of, fetishizing? Maybe that's an apt term? attitude that we've seen Westerners have in the past. To the point that she didn't really respect Arthur as fellow royalty, but rather saw him as sort of a cute mascot, with Vincent being the true head of Central Country.

And whatever her attitude towards wizards is (cause you know she's gonna have SOMETHIN), I hope that she's able to get over it and have some sort of positive relationship with Arthur. Like. Like ok I want them to be besties, I think Arthur deserves a fellow royalty bestie, I think that would be so cute and fun. I want them to gossip together just a little. But it would ALSO be very interesting to see them have some sort of friendly rivalry where they're both trying to grow into capable rulers alongside each other? BC I don't think they can really forget about the dynamics between their countries of course but I'd love to see them respect each other nonetheless. There's soooo much potential there and I can't wait to see what they do with it. I just hope it's more multifaceted than like, Arthur Puts Up With Frivolous Princess or something

hxh headcanon/imagine.

again... still about hisoillu but about their engagement instead of illu's influenced fashion choice.

also this is more of... idk it gave reason why they chose to marry instead of uh other ways i guess??

i've seen so many fanarts where illu would break the news to the zoldycks or how killu would react to having hisoka as his brother in law- like srsly it's meme worthy at this point- and lotsa ones that showed how hisoka proposed as a joke or smtg but... I've been overthinking abt it these past few days sO i present to you how i think "the big question aka the proposal" happened... (manga spoilers??)

it's after hisoka resurrected himself obviously, and def after he killed kortopi and shalnark (so he knew there was gonna be empty slots in the spiders' lineup)

i imagine illu went back to the zoldyck estate after the whole fiasco and only heard of hisoka's "death" from rumors while he was on a mission

and then when he was idk maybe contemplating on whether or not he should visit the body(?) to pay respects or something, he gets a text message from the devil himself

their text went like this probably:

hisoka: hey~ where are you right now?♠️ (and no u can't tell me hisoka doesn't text w card suits u just can't-)

illumi: who are you and how did you get the phone you are currently using?

hisoka: ooh~ illu~ i feel betrayed, did you delete my number?♣️

illumi: hisoka is dead

hisoka: *image attached*

illumi: oh

illumi: hello hisoka, how are you still alive?

hisoka: you sound disappointed~♦️

illumi: i kind of am...

...and that's how they met up?? ngl i think illu has a know-it-all syndrome where he just has to,,, k n o w everything

he's curious so he agrees to the meetup ofc

he's also surprised when he sees hisoka is in good shape when they meet (idk at a bar in an unknown city?)

they drink whiskey on the rocks because... you know...

hisoka explains how he survived and his next plan of action (which is terminate the spiders)

illumi makes a mental note of nen after death bc he's heard and seen it all before but... not to this extent,

this is gonna be,,, bland but i think this is the logic behind why hisoka chose to get married/engaged instead of just paying up front (reference to the ten dons' commission to get chrollo killed and chrollo's commission to get the ten dons killed)--

anyways here's how their conversation goes:

i: "why did you want to talk in person?"

h: "oh y'know, for old times sake."

i: "...right"

hisoka laughs, "okay so maybe i want to ask you for a favor..?"

confused, illumi asks, "why could you not have just texted if you wanted me to kill someone for you?"

h: "no, no- wait, actually, you're not too far off."

i: ~mOrE cOnfUsiOn~ "huh?"

h: "how do contracts for assassination work in your... family business?"

i: "half the promised pay before, the remaining half afterwards. should the target be eliminated by a third party, the assigned zoldyck still gets the pay and should the employer die, then the contract is terminated and the zoldyck will report back immediately."

h: "and has anyone made a contract to have themselves terminated?"

i: "i beg your pardon?"

h: "what complications will arise should your employer's target be... themselves?"

i: "i believe... i have never encountered such circumstance before. the people who hire us are those who have enough money and resource to have their enemies killed quickly. no one's tried to test the zoldyck assassination prowess."

h: "so... how will that work?"

i: "are you implying this is the reason why you have contacted me today?"

h: "yes~ ♥️" (how he said a heart emoji out loud is up to you, reader)

i: "it will be a pointless paradox. logically, the zoldyck will only get the employment bill. and i, myself, do not find pleasure in going for the kill like you lest i get my reward, so you will not get a contract out of me, hisoka."

h: "is there no leeway?"

i: "a zoldyck stands up to their word. so no."

h: "even for a friend?~ ♦️"

i: "we are not friends, hisoka-"

hisoka raises his glass of whiskey along with his eyebrow.

i: "oh..."

h: "didn't you tell dear killua that a zoldyck didn't need friends?"

i: "you... are an associate, someone reliable in the killing world. it's different."

h: "hypocrite"

i: "i ask you for favors and you make me return them. it is not like we spend our time together leisurely like killu with that island boy..."

hisoka clinks their matching glasses of whiskey even though his is already empty, a shit-eating grin on his lips.

i: "you suggested we meet here."

h: "this isn't the first time we went out to drink, right illu?"

i: "regardless!! i will not kill you just for half the money. i do not like wasting efforts on fruitless missions."

h: "as i said, is there no exception, to make sure you get my money if you were to succeed in killing me?"

i: "are you doubting my skill, hisoka?"

h: "that's not the point right now~ ♠️"

i: "wait, why do you want me to get all of your money?"

h: "haven't we just gotten over this subject? because you're my friend, of course."

i: "i... we are not friends, hisoka."

hisoka claps, "that's it! illumi!! ♣️"

i: "eh?"

h: "marry me! that way in our prenup I'll make sure you get all of my money, and even without a prenup you'll still get it since you'll be my only relative! that solves it!"

i: "hisoka, are you sure death did not took a toll on your brain? you did say you used Bungee Gum only on your heart and lungs..."

h: "i'm being serious, illumi!! and doesn't this solve your earlier conflict? we don't have to be friends, we'll be husbands!"

i: "do not use that tactic with me, you manipulative bastard. stop joking."

h: "this is purely beneficial for you, honestly i don't get why you just won't accept it."

i: "then humor me this first, why now?"

h: "dear illu, i've been to literal hell and back. i think it's time to leave my mark in case i fail to escape death again."

i: "was it that bad?"

h: "you'll love it there, illu~ ♥️"

h: "on a more serious note, though, i do plan to marry you. out of everyone i've encountered, you're the most eligible candidate. you're powerful, fully capable and extremely pretty to boot! you're the ideal husband!"

(blushing obviously, illumi downs the remaining whiskey in his glass) i: "death has changed you, hisoka."

h: "so?"

i: "fine."

h: "excellent!"

and in one fell swoop, illumi has a pin against the curve of hisoka's jugular, wrist held tightly by hisoka- a card matching against his own neck.

"not yet, dear husband." hisoka whispered into his ear, "we have to manage the papers first. and i've a request before you do."

they let each other go at the same time, not even breathing an unnecessary breath in the other's personal space (well, they're nearly pressed thigh to thigh anyways, what's the point of personal space anymore-)

"a condition rather than a request, really."

"what?" hisoka orders them refills, and downs his when it arrives.

"join the ryodan first."

glass already pressed on thin lips, illumi's confused hum resonates softly into the concave utensil. "why?"

"so things can get more interesting. i assume you know of the dark continent expedition that's soon to take place?"

"father has advised i take part on it, since kalluto told me the ryodan plans to rob some cliches who'll join the expedition- to look after him. you want me to join them?"

"yes, and i plan to board as well, don't fret."

illumi's eyes turn to slits, "how should i know you would be there? i can't take your word when you might just disappear when we've all boarded."

hisoka grins, wide then wider, "you should know by now illu, i plan to avenge my wounded pride. that damned chrollo didn't even fight me properly."

tilting his head, illumi stared at the man beside him, "is that not contradictory? i thought you did not mind your opponent using whatever means necessary to win?"

"magicians use tricks and misdirection to awe the audience," hisoka says almost thoughtlessly, "chrollo's a narcissistic hypnotist who used the audience as a damned shield because he knew he couldn't handle me face-to-face."

he groans, tinged in regret. "i shouldn't have picked heaven's arena, if i'd chosen a more discreet location then maybe the damage won't be this bad."

"damage?" illumi rests his chin on his palm, facing his husband.

hisoka swipes a hand over his face, and the glamour comes off. the picture he sent illumi now present in front of him. he was missing a nose, his left hand didn't have any finger left and dried blood chipped on his white skin. "oh."

with another swipe, everything's made correct again. hisoka was grinning again. he downs the remaining alcohol and leaves jenny bills under the emptied glass.

"come, lovely husband. we're to elope and legalize our union!"

illumi follows suit after downing his own glass, "i think there might be another loop hole, if you were to join the family. zoldycks do not kill family."

"so if i were to wed you, here and now, you'd think me more of a family than alluka?"

"alluka is not family."

"are those your words, illumi? or silva's?"

"i..."

"wow, you're really just as fucked up as i am."

"where do you plan to take me? i've just said i cannot kill family."

hisoka chuckles, "then you're the one to take my name, of course."

"preposterous!"

"who the hell still uses that word?"

"i am and will always be a zoldyck-"

"exactly. it's just legal papers, if you kill me then you'll just be a widow and even get your name back! see how everything'll work out in the end?"

"hisoka-"

"are you doubting your skill of assassination, my dearest husband?"

"... i better get the most expensive ring in this damned city."

"that's the spirit! now let's go get married!"

"wait, hisoka. what is your last name?"

later that night, when they leave a chapel, something gold glimmers on hisoka's bungee gum/texture surprise ring finger. a matching one around illumi's finger.

unlike hisoka, though, illumi had an extra red glimmer right under that gold, in the dead center of a silver band of intricately designed pattern. hisoka had foregone the traditional diamond in favor of a 16 carat ruby engagement ring, such a curious choice but illumi accepted it all the same...

(much later on, hisoka took both rings as collateral and reminded illumi that he would get them back even if he died bc it was in their damn prenup- and bc it was technically bought under illumis name and that's how hisoka assured illu that he'd be on that black whale,,, bc he had the rings and planned to give them back to him there)

"I thought a red gemstone was better suited for the rather bloody and murderous ending that our relationship will inevitably come to, wouldn't you agree?"

-Hisoka Morow whenever someone mentions his preference of proposal ring...

"I disagree with most of his ideals, our relationship has always had a fragile foundation, and I knew from the start that we'd eventually end up killing each other."

danny phantom 14-20 thoughts!! I finished up s1 :D these last few eps were actually really really good!!!

-did. did tucker really just say esperanto was a dead language only spoken as a secret code between geeks. google says around 100,000 people actively speak it. oh my god...it being an auxiliary language doesn't mean its 'just for geeks to speak in code' ...it helps bridge gaps between people who don't have a language in common...

-danny really isn't pulling punches when it comes to fighting the ghost-cop possessed people huh. like he SLAMMED KWAN INTO THE CONCRETE SO HARD. HE THREW PAULINA INTO A BILLBOARD. will that...I mean it WOULD carry over to their bodies non-possessed, right? like if the ghost piloting their bodies gets hurt?? itd be so upsetting to be possessed, lose time, then wake up covered in bruises (and possibly, broken bones??) real horror movie stuff im sure wont be addressed in any way

-tuckers parents seem nice! I like them :)

-WULF IS CUTE AND I FEEL BAD. im so glad the gang realized he was only causing trouble bc of the shock collar walker put on him and helped. also, him wearing that big hoodie with the hood on, and thinking its subtle. we can tell youre still a giant wolfie :) THEN GETTING SUCKED INTO THE PORTAL AAAAH :( anxiously waiting to see Him Again....

-DANNY BLASTING HIS PARENTS THINKING THEY WERE OVERSHADOWED LMFAO GET THEIR ASSES. maddie marking how many ghosts she gets with lipstick tallies on the side of her portal gun? kindaaa iconic tho. (ALSO, SHE WAS LIKE, 2 FT AWAY FROM HIM RIGHT AFTER SHE TRIED TO SHOOT HIM. HOW DO YOU NOT RECONINZE YOUR OWN SON??? like sure, he might have diff hair/eye colors. but like, if one of my family members dyed their hair, and was wearing contacts, its not like id be like 'wHO IS THIS STRANGER!!!' ...he still has all his facial features!! same everything!!! I hate it here)

-paulina being #1 girl realizing danny's a friendly ghost immediately. smart queen. lancer and kwan ran away right after he made this sweet baby face at them:

-ok. im not saying his bullying is JUSTIFIED, but. dash looked so pleased with the (cute!) poster he just painted, and danny comes thru the wall and spills paint on his nice letterman jacket. his anger is justified maybe 65% of the time so far...(not the way he handles it, but STILL.) at least lancer is stepping in!! and them making a silly little bet was...cute?? until dash pulled out his GROSS UNDERWEAR AND SAID DANNY WOULD HAVE TO EAT THEM???? WHAT THE FUCK MAN. TUCKER WAS SO RIGHT ITS FUCKING WEIRD TO CARRY THOSE AROUND EWWW. THIS KID IS UNWELL. lancer was right, his animatronic setup was SUPER IMPRESSIVE?? hes actually pretty creative. danny meanwhile is stealing the fright knight's design...I hope dash is taking art classes or smth with his sports

-fright knight is the most bestest ghost so far i LOVE THAT DESIGN. I am biased towards knights, and characters with swords, but he fucks so severely. and should sue danny for copyright infringement for stealing his design for his haunted house. if some 14 yr old broke into MY house and stole MY sword, id also be pissed. his evil winged unicorn rules too with its FANGS. and he just CAN SHOVE THE PORTAL OPEN WITH HIS HANDS??? is he the strongest ghost weve seen so far? idk but hes my fav. SOUL SHREDDER IS SUCH A COOL SWORD NAME TOO. ANY NAMED SWORD ALSO FUCKS. 'flaming bedsheets of DEATH' funny king. ALSO he was polite to dash and tucker when just asking for directions and telling tucker 'oh maybe, just a suggestion, maybe be nicer to me and be more respectful :)' I LOOOVE HIM.

-I noticed this in the Ember ep, but jazz has an electric guitar in her room!! talent musical queen!! its cool to see hobbies just in the bg.

-fright knight's murder castle reminds me of the booby trapped murder castle in zexal!! another supposedly 'for kids' show with murder/trap castles! we love that. if you are a dp fan reading this, give yugioh zexal a try. its also got 13-14 year old protags and involves (alien) ghosts. the cardgame is just a vessel for the plot, which is really good. (I just want more people to watch my fav yugioh, man)

-danny. with a SWORD.

-danny doesnt NEED TO WIN this contest, dash didnt STEAL HIS DESIGNS AND STEAL A SWORD. he also got excited to hear lancer got sent to a dimension with his worst fears too just so he could win the contest? DANNY WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!! BRO MAYBE YOURE 14 AND HAVENT FULLY DEVOLPED YOUR WHOLE BRAIN YET, BUT...THATS FUCKED. this kid casually says the most deranged things, I do worry for my spooky son. once again, therapy needed. that judo toss was great tho. I wonder if he actually did pick up some martial arts stuff from his mom?

-danny can fly 112 mph!!! thats so fast! I love the lil montage of him and his friends testing his abilities and stuff, very cute and a good way to showcase what he can do by now and how much more proficient he's gotten from ep 1!!! I'm sure he's going to get more abilities :)

-im glad...maddie's at least TRYING this ep. I do feel for her because her husband is a man baby. but the fact it took 16 episodes to get a kinda semblance of any kind of real concern or attempts at bonding. hmm. jack's 'BACK OFF SHES A MINOR' @ the ghost trying to attack jazz. also was very funny. and him wanting to make an action figure of her? are the parents redeeming themselves to me? slightly. they gotta Work Harder

-fenton machete. but she doesnt carry a PHONE??? ???

-I mean I expected vlad when you namedrop him earlier in the ep, and also the title card picture, and dalv corp being fucking vlad backwards. but seeing him just pull up on a golf cart made me bust out laughing. WITH the gift baskets prepared. why wouldnt you at least be suspicious. also, if he wants danny to be his lil sonboy, why is he so fucking malicious?? dude you are going about this in such a bad way. stop it. get some help.

-maddie not even hesitating to drag danny out. fucking good. danny is so right, go on the internet to date. get a cat. how do you spend...how many years?? has it been since college?? at least 20, right, since the parents/vlad are in their 40s? hung up on ONE girl. my god, man. incel drama queen. her kung fu IS impressive, but dude. 'we both know hes a creep' SO right. it sucks but they do need a phone and shit being in the middle of NOWHERE. also, just stealing his helicopter was great. <3

-kitty just piloting paulina around makes me feel SO bad tho, paulina's gonna wake up and be like 'wtf do you mean I was dating this rando' like youre leading danny on to make johnny jealous, and also just POSSESSING POOR PAULINA. dude take your relationship problems ELSEWHERE. last time we saw them, they seemed like such a cute couple!! wtf johnny!! I mean, she sucks for trying to make him jealous, he sucks for looking at other girls...maybe they need a break, but Not Like This. or, you know, just. better communication...

-and the A-listers having a full packet and a stamp system. who organizes this. kwan fucking owning being the new danny though, this is hysterical. THE TUCKER/KWAN FLOWER FIELD TWIRL. UNIRONICALLY ADORABLE. and him giving it his all for the poetry slam. bless his HEARTTTT.

-Star owns. actually, all of the extra characters are shining this ep and I love it.

-johnny and danny bein friends and staging a fake fight (which danny takes too seriously, once again this child has aggression he NEEDS TO WORK OUT) I hope these three stay friends, I said it before but danny needs more friendly ghosts to hang with.

-at this point, Danny's ghost enemies are a lot like, I dunno, batman's rouge gallery is the first thing that comes to mind. they all have their own gimmick and unique designs, but most of them are easy to beat after learning the Moral Lesson. I still get excited when any of them show up again, though. 18 is another valerie episode!!!! :D skulker really said you two will get along if I have to handcuff you together <3 and the gym teacher really said, youre married now, have a flour baby! ngl, I'm not really watching this show for the shipping stuff (which I am very scared to look at the fandom for after I finish this watch through- I feel like there's probably discourse/arguing about ships...) but. I'm gonna put my opinion out there. valerie/danny > sam/danny. maybe I just really love the enemies to lovers trope. And the secret identity stuff adds Extra Flavor.

-SKULKER JUST HAVING THE BOX GHOST AND DANGLING HIM BY A STRING. HILARIOUS. and him watching them with binoculars and making his silly little commentary. AND MAKING THE SACK BABY CRY. LMAO. THIS DUDE IS A BABY KIDNAPPER. skulker is super fun

-danny, you just...collapsed the water tower. and then attacked the nasty burger machine...mascot thingy...out of anger..I KEEP SAYING HE'S GOT ANGER ISSUES BUT. HE REALLY NEEDS A LESSON IN MANAGING COLLATERAL DAMAGE!!! So does valerie!! They're both pretty focused on each other. I mean it's good of Danny to say he's trying to make sure PEOPLE don't get hurt, but... (I mean I guess it's not something 14 year olds WOULD worry about, but as an adult im like, who's going to fix that? how much money will that take??)

-TUCKER MAKING BANK. and sam and tucker being super emotionally attached to their flour baby and being pretty good parents. that's cute...also him just straight kissing her and being like. WAIT. O_O JDSKAFHD. his mom baking them into cookies was the funniest possible result. tbh I dont feel like this is on tucker, if anything the other kid's shouldve been more responsible! He was just taking an opportunity to get that $$ which I respect

-Danny being more understanding of Valerie's situation in the end (helping her at her job, too, and trying to keep that a secret for her!!!) And seeing them work together this ep, and also her letting phantom get her out of the ghost zone...was very sweet. LOVE that. more valerie eps pls

-me when I realize vlad's big stupid house exploded because of his own carelessness with changing the ghost portal ectofiltrator or whatever: *pointing and laughing*

-me when I realize it means he's gonna go make danny's life hell for it somehow: >:(

-SCOOBY PARODY!!! I feel like there's gotta be some scooby doo/danny phantom crossover stuff, right? also, 'guys in white' men in black wishes

-'oh, that's right! dad married the love of your life! you're bitter and alone!' DANNNNNYY GET HIS ASS ONCE AGAIN WE ARE POINTING AND LAUGHING AT VLAD

-'jack, you captured the ghost boy!!' UMM. he did nothing <3 'we have a weapon's vault??' YOU HAVE A WEAPONS VAULT??? and jack didnt put a handle on the inside. of fucking course he didnt! why would you leave that to your son!! or expect him to clean YOUR LAB when its where you work with probably dangerous chemicals and weapons and hes 14!! give him normal chores, like, I dunno, vacuuming, laundry, dishes...CMON. I hate it here. But I'm glad Jack is more chill about danny while he's a ghost, and willing to work with him for this ep. AND. I DID ENJOY JACK PUNCHING VLAD IN THE FACE. AND GENERALLY JUST OWNING HIM. the ghost punchy fists are actually amazing. like yeah, just punch a ghost in the face. that rules.

-ep 20 opens with the coolest fucking ghost lady design. her tattoos can come off and fight. MA'AM. I like ur nose ring and your cape maam hello 👉👈😳

-sam's grandma is hilarious and the most valid member of her family and I love her. thats my grandma now. and tucker covering for sam by dressing as her. thats true friendship <3 also skipping school to go to a goth circus. just bestie things! sam's parents are haters but for all the wrong reasons.

-'my family has controlled ghosts with this for generations!' WAIT. WAIT FREAKSHOW /ISNT/ A GHOST? I didn't expect that...he's just a fucked up guy controlling ghosts? anyway watching danny shoot at police cars and rob banks while mind controlled. its like, the most stereotypical 'bad' things lmao. (tbh an evil ghost circus troupe is a sick concept)

(I'm going to assume evil circus reaper danny has a lot of fan content. people love an edgy au, except this one is canon (even tho its via mind control...having the protag go evil otherwise might be hard, I guess?) but au where he stays with the troupe...that has to exist, right?)

ANYWAY. excited to start s2!! lowkey surprised by how many notes some of these posts have gotten. wait what happened with snap trap?

a brief summary

at the beginning of quarantine he and the girl he was seeing didn't work out

he came crawling back to me like always and started flirting w me

we did that all summer and it got like super suggestive?? like him referencing the future and joking that i'd be his wife and just super super flirty more so than usual when he's single and blah blah blah

about a month ago we had a random convo about our feelings for each other bc i joked i'd scoop him up eventually, and he said why does it have to be eventually, and we were like yeah it'd be a lot easier if we were closer so i said eventually as in when it makes more sense and he said "maybe sooner rather than later"

the next day he coincidentally asks if he can come see me on his random day off during the week (a 4 hour drive for him both ways just to spend barely 12 hours here)

he gets here and it's great we are flirty and physically affectionate all night and then he wants to cuddle so we do and we fall asleep cuddling 20 minutes into a movie

we cuddle all night we hit every mf position he's doing that guy thing where they like caress u and play w ur hair and he at some point started holding my hand and then from that point on we held hands for the rest of the night too, he leaves at 6am and kisses me w a stuffed animal (????)

for the week after it's fine and normal, we don't talk about anything that happened but we're still flirty

a week later i notice he stops flirting and like...initiating/responding to conversation and i immediately know this is his same bullshit pattern

2 days later i ask him straight up if he wants me to be taking him seriously bc i feel like it's a game or a joke to him and that i need clarity, he says we should just be friends bc distance (didn't acknowledge the part about the mind game tho lmaoooo)

we went like another week and a half just sending bland snaps to each other, and i noticed he was clearly at a new place and it was clearly a girl's lmao

i started distancing myself from him bc now the whole picture is coming together....he used me as an emotional rebound again but led me on to a new level of fucked up and cruel all while having a new girl already lined up and didn't even have the balls or respect for me as a friend to be upfront and honest about his intentions or have the balls to tell me what the fuck was up after he visited

i broke our 1000 something day snap streak and he hasn't reached out ever since and that was over 2 weeks ago

he definitely isn't gonna even try and reach out until things go to shit w his new girl bc he never gave a fuck about me even as a friend and only uses me for emotional support when he needs validation and attention ❤️

In hand with that I'd the fact that my main, is my main, it is my private blog for me. Not you, not debi, no one but me. So yeah, you're not going to be getting a reply from it.

I demanded sources you claimed you had, which you have provided and I am reading. But alas I can't just spend all day reading. I have to work. I have bills, animals to care for and a life full of people who do care. And my spoons are constantly low. So reading is going to be slower than either of us would like.

That's not me staying "all exclus are terfs" it's me saying "exclus who use xyz argument should be aware it comes from a terf space and be aware they can draw terfs to them bc of it" that's me trying to guide people who regularly threaten me, hurt me, anx oh yeah disrespect me, because I know many are minors anx many are likely trans. And they even when they are ahistorical shits who know no better, don't deserve to be hurt or accidentally draw the wrong crowd so stfu and actually read what I type and think critically about it.

As for when I'm going back, when again I can format actual better replies for most of these anf probably at the same time as I'm grabbing sources and formating that post to my standards. I wanted sources, I have them but I'm not going to blindly respond until I read all of them so fucking be patient.

Not hate, genuine question: do you not like mistakes in your writing to be pointed out? Bc I know I'd prefer people point out when my writing doesn't make sense just bc it'll improve the writing

alright, i’ll try to explain this in better detail here:

i don’t mind people pointing out my mistakes. im often very impatient and don’t like waiting on betas to return work to me, so if i have time i’ll usually do quick read throughs myself. im human, i inevitably miss things, so i encourage people to tell me where mistakes come in.

now that being said: i don’t like it when it’s the sole purpose of the comment

bc at that point, you’re not acting like a reader, you’re acting like my line editor. that’s like reading a published book, making a list of all the typos, and sending it back to the author. it gives me the impression that you didn’t really engage with the content of the story but rather decided to take the time to give me line edits on the story. and while it may be well intentioned, the way i take that is “hey read your story, but i was more concerned with all the mistakes you made as opposed to what you did well.”

if you’re going to be concerned with helping a writer get better, then in addition to pointing out things that a writer did wrong or made unclear, it’s common courtesy to point out places where the writer excelled and showed strength. that’s basic decorum for critiques. when you’re in workshops, it’s really rude to focus only on the mistakes that the writer made, as well intentioned as your efforts are. no creative being enjoys seeing people engage with their work for the sole purpose of correcting it. we put hard work in the things that we do, and it’s just common courtesy to tell us positive impressions of the work.

so my personal rules of thumb:

1) if you’re going to draw attention to the fact that there are mistakes in a piece of writing lead it up with a compliment/impression of the actual content. it’s the classic “state a strength, state a weakness” format. “hey i really liked your characterization in this piece, it was really strong. but a quick thing i noticed was that this sentence made your writing unclear for a moment, just so that you’re aware.” that’s a perfectly pleasant review, and i will and have responded positively to reviews like that. but, i say this while stressing that i personally believe mistakes should only be called out in this format if it detracts from the meaning/clarity of the writing. that being said…

2) (personally) don’t give me a laundry list of my typos. chances are if there’s one place where i said “it’s” instead of “its,” there are about ten other places where i used the word correctly. that should tell you that it’s a typo and not a poor grasp of grammar. so to give people grammar lessons in the comments section of someone’s fic is frankly a little patronizing and i would avoid it. now, a better way to approach this situation is to say something like this: “hey i enjoyed x, y, z about your fic. however, i noticed that you’ve got a few minor typos here and there in the work. i know it’s hard to catch all those things by yourself, so maybe a beta reader would help? i can offer to beta for you/know where you can find a beta/, etc.”

at that point you’re not dwelling on their mistakes, but are rather trying to give the writer help in improving their writing. when you see typos in a fic, chances are it’s not an issue of a poor grasp of grammar. it’s an issue of missing mistakes during proofreading and probably not having a beta.

another general rule: never tell people “you need a beta” or “you need to start proofreading your work.” fic writers are not entitled to follow your demands, so for readers to be demanding they do things is rude. easy way around this is to gently point these out through offers: “are you looking for a beta?” or “do you need help proofreading?” are both much more polite ways of saying the initial two statements.

this isn’t a matter of fic writers not enjoying critique (we’re all writers, we want to improve and be better), but there’s an etiquette to critique that any professional writer will tell you. especially when it comes to fanwork done for fun, also understand that, for some people, they don’t want your critiques and instead just want their pieces considered for content only. if you point our grammar errors and an author tells you “i’d prefer if you didn’t read my fics for errors” then listen to them. don’t tell them that you’re doing them a favor. just leave it be, apologize, and move on.

tl;dr: be nice. preface negatives with positives when you leave comments. if a writer asks you not to engage with their writing in a certain way, respect their wishes. at the end of the day, it’s their content and they have a say in how it’s treated
