One of my favorite things that happened during my last mage Hawke playthrough was during the final battle against Meredith. Everything's going well. We're kicking her ass, she's got just this much health left, we're so close... but then everyone gets stunned dizzy.

Hawke is stumbling around all confused, seeing stars. The rest of his companions are stunned. I'm annoyed because I just want to end this fight. Don't know how or who did it, probably Meredith, but the situation's dire.

Meredith's standing by herself at the center of the Gallows, shouting nonsense and smugly believing the Maker's going to come down and make her his new bride after she murdered a bunch of innocent people.

Truly, this is the part of the story where Varric says they all thought hope was lost, that in the end, Meredith would pull a fast one on us and claim victory...

Until the REAL hero of dragon age 2 comes storming at her. I don't know why Carver was the only one to not be affected, but he literally jumped out of no where and just started bashing Meredith with his sword while everyone else was too dizzy to do anything until she was dead and the cutscene played.

"Hawke defeated Meredith-" LIES, VARRIC. I know the truth! I was there! Hawke didn't do shit! Carver Hawke was the main character all along! He got shit done and Varric gave Hawke all the credit!

I bring this up because last night I finished my warrior Hawke run and when we got to the fight with Meredith, I kind of hoped the same thing would happen where Bethany dashed in all heroic and got the killing blow on Meredith.

She did not.

She got squished by a statue.

But it's fine, Bethany Hawke was the true main character in my heart.

#the boy and the heron was good! visually stunning #however. I think it falls into the same trap that everything since ponyo and arietty has fallen into #which is too many elements. the ‘rock’ was unnecessary. it should have just been more of a… crazy wizard guy found some way to alter the spo #spirit world/afterlife on his own? I think the element of accepting new family members was a bit lost. #the heron wanting to bring him to the spirit world would have been a bit more impactful if he had been the g.grand uncle in disguise? #parrots were a really fun element but using them as the end-villain was not satisfying #there was a chance to have the main character decide the end of the plot but that was just taken away from him #cursed with never remembering character names. but the plot I was expecting was a bit more mature with the pregnant aunt being asked to give #up her child to be the next wizard or something. like that’s why she was brought there. because the main character resisted so much so they #took the next youngest of kin to raise in the spirit world #man. that said the scenery surrounding the first pelican scene until they get the fish is like. directly from many dreams I’ve had

Idk if ppl have been discussing this about the new Percy Jackson show (I've been taking a break from socials).... But who braids Annabeth's hair? And who taught her to take care of her hair? Because Annabeth ran away really young and I doubt her step-mother taught her. Was it the Aphrodite kids? Do they have like big pamper parties where they have wash days and braiding days for all the kids at camp who need help?

I think Michael would get really into it, (as described by the script, "Jeremy's music obsessed friend" lmao) but I think he's more of the kind of guy to jam out casually and alone than in front of other people. He'd reluctantly accept the battle and absolutely crush it, but i think ultimately Jenna would win. She thrives whenever she's the center of attention, and would try to keep all eyes on her. She's tried hard to be noticed for so long, so I wouldn't be surprised if she practiced in her spare time or something to be seen at Jake's parties or something. Michael would probably falter under that attention, leaving Jenna as the winner.

"It's just about to start, I think," he commented as he checked his watch; after that, it looked like there'd be a variety of other horror movies scattered between the next marathon, the Creature From The Black Lagoon trilogy. "How does that sound?"

ur post abt the roommate. wow the audacity of white ppl never fails to amaze me. they rlly only perceive the world through their lens and think if someone hasn’t established themselves in their community they’re a nobody. u had to find out abt kanye west due to a white woman prevalent in ur community? what does that say abt u more than anything? it’s so funny how they rlly think poc success relies on whether they’re relevant enough to white ppl. it makes me understand now why a lot of them will be obsessed with and hype up artists like tyler the creator, since 90% of his audience are white. i experienced this first hand at one of his concerts earlier this year.

It def changes the narrative a lot, but I'm also white and I was really shocked, too. I knew it was possible, but I never really thought someone would be so blatant (and intentional, too) in their cultural deafness and blindness about a topic that's not only easy to understand but also... important?

Like... idek know what to say. The fact that there are (white) people out there who have never had to challenge their worldview, even with different styles of art and music... to the point where distinct history, at the very least, isn't even remotely important? Or considered at all?

Not only does it touch upon what you say about it reflecting poorly on them (which, BIG FACTS) but also... you wonder how that's something to even defend or take pride in. It's pure stupidity... and overall just hard to watch, someone having the nerve to so wrongly but confidently have opinions about a topic they never even bothered to learn about.

And exactly as you say about TTC, too. We were just talking in one of my education classes, about how culture can be alienated at the exact same time society starts to accept it. Like, who is truly benefitting from making something mainstream? Not that this is inherently/automatically bad, per se, but when art, music, food, etc, becomes popular at the expense of the people who made it and who it was made FOR... what's really going on? Definitely nothing mutually beneficial, that's for sure... and ESPECIALLY not if this version is the only thing shared, valued, and understood of the culture.

I'm getting into traditional menswear (in an unmistakably queer and transgender way) and now every time I see a weird suit jacket I want it. I keep scrolling past Benny from FNV (a game I never played) and I want that jacket. I could make it out of flannel cotton and it would go with my pyjama pants that I want to alter.

i want kuki shinobu so bad but…i’ll have to fight spectres (which i hate) and the ruin serpent (which i also hate) to level her up… do you have any tips for fighting them

Yeah same I dislike fighting the spectres, but the tip i can give you is that if you have a built catalyst characters they can fight pretty great against them, unless you're fighting one with the same element as your character (yanfei=pyro spectre). Just make sure there's a backup person to murder those floaty little bastards

As for the Ruin Serpent.. in my opinion I think fighting them is a bit more tedious than say, a Hypostasis, but I do have a tip that may or may not be useful:

When the Ruin Serpent releases those oozing concretion/black mud things, only take out three with your lumenstone and leave out one so you can easily stun the serpent when it tries to absorb it.

#fish asks #genshin impact #although i think the reason why i find the ruin serpent tedious to fight is because im too used to yanfei doing inhuman amounts of damage #she shreds the hypostases like paper #and i think its stun is too short i think? #i dunno i might not just be skilled with fighting it compared to other bosses #like all ruin machines it has a pretty high resistance to physical attacks so also keep that in mind #ive never farmed spectres so perhaps look up a farming route for them? #or maybe just mark places where a lot of them spawn so you can go there easily #thats what i did with my fatui murder spree for ningguang
