Hey everyone, if you haven't played Murder by Numbers yet, now is the time to do so, as it's currently free on the Epic Games Store until July 27th

Described as a "weird little camp love-letter to 90s detective shows, Picross, and Phoenix Wright", this game has you solve Picross puzzles to find clues that you use to solve murders, with an adorable robot by your side

IMPORTANT EDIT: Massive photosensitivity warning for this game. It frequently uses an effect where the entire screen flashes white for just a second. There's no way to turn it off, or avoid it, and it happens very, very frequently (maybe once every five to ten seconds of dialogue), so please be extra cautious if you have migraines, epilepsy, anything that could be triggered by it, and I'd recommend that absolutely nobody plays in a dark room even if they aren't sensitive to flashing.

I had a feeling that today's chapter was gonna be a Short Mission, and...

...IT WAS SO MUCH FUN...!! 😆

Today's Mission may be short, but we still have a lot of things to talk about, so let's get into, shall we...? 😉

Today's Short Mission takes place before the Gala at Eden (Mission 95), where Anya and Becky are going dress shopping...!! 😆

This part was "killing" me...!!: 🤣🤣🤣

GODDAMNIT BECKY, WATCH YOUR PHRASING WHEN YOU'RE AROUND ANYA GIRL...!!! 👏🤣👏🤣👏🤣

After that, we see Anya find and pick out the dress that she wore in Mission 95 and 96...:

But, what she says in the next panel made my heart MELT!! 💗

SHE PICKED THE DRESS BECAUSE IT REMINDED HER OF YOR'S DRESS!! 💗😍💗

And sure, it's mostly because of all the killing things that Becky was saying earlier... BUT, THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT HOW ADORABLE IT IS THAT ANYA PICKED THE DRESS SHE DID BECAUSE OF HER MAMA'S ASSASSIN ATTIRE...!! 💗😆💗

Back at home, Twilight nearly dies from seeing how much the dress that Anya chose costs...! 🤣 But instead of completely sulking about it, Twilight is gonna teach Anya how to DANCE!! (As mentioned in Mission 96):

WHAT'S WITH THAT FACE MY GUY!? 😵🤣

Anyway, Twilight began teaching Anya how to dance and... It went how I expected it would go...! 😌:

Twilight was all about giving up on teaching Anya, but then:

Anya tells her papa tha she doesn't want to give up yet, and...

...Twilight agrees to continue to teach her! 💗

But, at school the next day...THIS HAPPENS:

So, when Anya is back at home and Twilight is ready teach her some more, this happens:

I need everyone to go and read A Psalm For The Wild Built by Becky Chambers for a comforting, cosy and hopeful science fiction story. It's one of my absolute favourite books and it's wonderful.

The main character is also agender and uses they/them pronouns!

I love the fact that they let you pick extra pet names for every guy once you reached a certain affinity level with them. Especially since you never know when they'll use it and then bam! You get hit with it out of nowhere xD

mha is like an estranged awkward father to me. i try not to make my connection to it obvious but i secretly care a lot about it (sometimes against what i desire) and when ppl talk serious shit about it i get defensive. like yea i understand that it's not the best series writing-wise, it's got a good amount of problems and that its mere connection to me makes me cringefail ... but i'll always find some sort of unexplainable comfort in its arms despite its flaws bc there's still a good amount of it to genuinely enjoy without a constantly ironic state of mind that all media must be critiqued with nowadays and i don't expect anyone to understand this odd relationship but myself

#every time i hear that mha fans are cringe and have bad taste i'm like well yeah. but also hey. watch it #like protecting my pathetic father who does not need protecting but i'll do it anyway bc it just feels like i should #it's not at all a horrible series the way everyone labels it and i think its popularity caused such a societal whiplash #like oh it's mainstream now! time to pick on every flaw it has and reduce it to typical shounen shit #without addressing its actually decent and sometimes stellar aspects #it is not as overwhelmingly enjoyed like certain anime i've gotten into lately but that's ok. i'm fine with that #it's a mid to mid-good series with good characters (with exceptions) and great artwork and ok storytelling #i remember when mha was super praised and considered incredible like 5 years ago .. lol how times change #anyway. just wanted to type this out bc i think mha fans get an unfairly bad rep sometimes for doing nothing all that out of the ordinary #just for having an interest in a not-very-enlightening piece of media #and that kinda sucks #also bc i started watching mob psycho and it's really fucking good LMFAOOOO #bnha #mha #becki rambles about stuff

Thanks for answering my ask before. If you don't mind me asking (again), can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......

Hello again - thanks so much for all of these questions!

Hmmmm, I have so many favourite things across so many different forms of media that choosing a top 7/10 is super hard. I've gone with my gut of the first things I thought of that I love, but the list could easily be wayyyyyy longer. I'm sorry - I tried to keep this as short as I could... In no particular order:

My Hero Academia (anime + manga) MHA is the first anime that I think I ever really properly enjoyed. I watched it in 2021/2022, immediately fell in love with it, and proceeded to devour both the anime and almost all of the manga. I obviously adore all of the characters, but I also love the way that MHA portrays superpowers - both in terms of how they function (w/ there being unique limitations to them) as well as how it depicts/explores superhero society. I don't normally go in for superhero type media anymore, but the combination of all of the above (plus literally the sickest soundtrack from Yuki Hayashi) easily makes it one of my fave ever things

The Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers (books) I could write an entire dissertation on why this is one of my favourite series of all time, and why Becky Chambers is one of my favourite authors. But the shorter answer is: literally everything about them. Chambers' writing is beautiful, her narratives are full of love, hope and community, and her characters are incredibly diverse and well written. My fave book from the series is Record of a Spaceborn Few.

Dragon Age series (video games) I first came across Dragon Age at a fan convention back in 2016/2017 during a panel on queer media (I think). In addition to the panel discussing the general queer relationships/characters in the series, they specifically highlighted Dorian and Krem in DA: Inquisition. The following day I went out, purchased all the games, and then played them through from the first game. IThe games are super fun to play, the writing is *chefs kiss*, and I love the themes that the games explore. I love them so much I've even written an article and done a podcast episode about them!

Jurassic Park franchise (films, books, games) Jurassic Park is one of the franchises that I was raised on (along with Star Wars) and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I've seen all the films (up to Jurassic World), read the books, own books about JP, played a bunch of the games, and even have a poster map of Isla Nublar on my wall. Dinosaurs are one of the big reasons I love them, but also I think the films have always been very interesting to me for how they give us a lens in which to think about animal rights + conservation in a science fictional setting (something else I have also done a paper on!)

Final Fantasy XV (video game) I'll keep this one short and sweet: best boys on a roadtrip that will both make your heart full of joy but will ultimately leave you a sobbing mess on the floor (Honestly I didn't play FFXV until the end of 2022 and I am still !!!!!!! over it)

Haikyuu!! (anime) sksalkkljsa. I don't even know what to say about this. HQ is just the fucking best.

I Was a Teenage Exocolonist (video game) I don't talk about it so much anymore, but Exocolonist is still one of my favourite games and it makes my heart feel so much whenever I think about it. I love the entire aesthetic of it. I love how impactful your choices feel and how many different routes you can go down. I love how inclusive the game is, not just in terms of gender, race and sexuality but also with polyamoury + family/community dynamics. The worldbuilding is beautiful, the soundtrack is *cries*. Just...it's such a wonderful game.

Manic (film) There are a lot of films I could choose for this list, but if I can only choose one (bc space) then I think Manic is a good pick. It's the 2001 indie film with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zooey Deschanel, Don Cheadle, etc, and is set in an adolescent psychiatric ward. This film means a lot to me personally, I'll just leave it at that.

Xandri Corelel series (books) I spoke a bit about why I love the series so much in response to your favourite characters question but to summarise: cool as fuck science fiction series where cool as fuck autistic bisexual polyam protagonist, Xandri, is the head of the xeno-liaisons team. It's got stellar worldbuilding, excellent characters, and explores lots of interesting issues. Also, my favourite book is Tone of Voice (2nd in the series) partly bc its got space whales in it.

Mass Effect (video games) I think by now its pretty clear I love science fiction, so Mass Effect was always gonna be a big hit with me. I actually played Dragon Age first, and then a friend told me I had to play ME. The entire series is just sooooo good for very similar reasons to a lot of my other favourites: well-written, beloved characters, cool ass narrative/s, choice-based, fun FPS moments, cool worldbuilding, sick soundtrack!

oh speaking of the yt series, there's the hc of Duck having some sort of resentment towards Yellow because his actions indirectly lead to his death (plus being "canned"). Also would explain why he favors Red, bcs he never got to answer that call.

Also Yellow (slightly) favoring Duck might be bcs Duck was the one who stayed with him for who knows how long, Duck may have looked after him for a while. There's a loss of "innocence" after the Food episode after all, Yellow is scared from the teachers and the song from the get go. Guilt too, oof

Yeah there's some posts floating around about the (canon) relationships between Duck/Red/Yellow and how they seem to each have separate favorites that don't like them back (SO fucking tragic my god) and the relationship between Duck and Yellow is so interesting. Duck is harsher with Yellow, he berates him more, laughs at his rashes, tells him he's weak, bites him, makes fun of him, and is generally kind of a huge asshole (he still likes him! He's just kind of a dick) Yellow on the other hand clearly likes duck, spends time with him asking about the military (something Duck loves) sits closest to him both in the sitting room, the table, and the car, AND likes to sit on Duck's bed enough that Duck yelling at him to get off his a recurring theme.

I like the idea that it could be subliminal on both their behalfs, with Duck resenting Yellow for eating him and Yellow liking Duck more than Red because Duck stuck around and Red didn't.

first thing that popped into my head was the entirety of monsam’s wedding. had me SO EMOTIONAL when i was never even into weddings
