AN: I was rereading Tokyo revengers because I just love it so much and this scene was literally so beautiful. Like imagine being with Mikey watching the sunrise. I wish he was real bruh I would’ve married him LMAO.

The last flashback Draken remembered was on January 1st, 2005. Toman’s founding members with the addition to Angry and Smiley with Chifuyu and Pey-Yan, and of course you, was riding their bikes to the beach, yelling at each other their excitement. Of course you were right behind Mikey, holding onto the seat, too shy to hold onto his waist but he’s wishing you’d just hold a hand on him. You had a heavy backpack filled with your bendable microscope, notebooks, maps, etc. you were the one who suggested this since you had such a passion for the stars.

TINY FLASHBACK

“We should watch the stars and sunrise before the the new year! It’d be so pretty, I’ll bring my stuff so we can watch the stars.” You beamed to Mikey as he was sucking on his usual teriyaki. “Ooh! Sounds fun. Where?” He said tilting his head. “The beach! I heard the sky will be really clear, and the sunrise is gonna be bright, it’d be so pretty.” You said filling your cup of water. “Toman would really enjoy it!” You smiled innocently, he pouted thinking it was just gonna be the two of you. “Oh. Sure, sure~” He said continuing to pout.

END OF FLASHBACK

“Baji!! How did the Olympus incident go?!” Draken yelled through all the harsh, loud sounds of the motor bikes speeding up.

“Those punks were just the first squad, so we beat them up easily!” Baji said, pretending he wasn’t proud of himself.

They were talking amongst themselves on their bikes, while you and Mikey had your own conversation.

“Wow, it’s chillier than I’d thought it’d be, and I brought multiple blankets and layers.” You said, holding back your shaking, keeping your hair from blowing all over the place.”

“Sounds like you need more body heat..” Mikey said, he knew what he was doing. “I have a jacket in my backpack but it’s too dangerous to take it out..” you said looking over his shoulder.

“Hold on to me then…” he finally bursted out. Shutting his mouth before he said anything else. You slightly flushed, feeling a bit giddy holding on to him. He was always physically affectionate but you were never the one to initiate it. “Oh..yeah sure.” You shyly said, holding onto his shoulder. Mikey had to stop himself from rolling his eyes teasingly.

“Silly girl, you’re not gonna get any warmth like that. Don’t be all shy now~” he teased, smiling.

“W-well I thought it would be uncomfortable for you! Since your driving and all!” You panicked. He let out a hearty laugh. “Just do it, [Name]!”

You gulped before finally wrapping your arms around his waist, he felt shivers down his spine, but not from the crisp, cold air blowing through your faces. Dammit [Name] you’re so…oblivious! He thought.

You guys parked your bikes and walked to the shore of the beach, you flattened a large fluffy blanket on the ground, preparing your microscope. The others were laughing and running. Obviously getting adrenaline from the scene in front of them. Who wouldn’t? The air was crisp, the wind slightly blowing, the moon was shining bright, slowly going down. It wasn’t snowy but it sure was cold, you spotted Mikey heading to the edge of the bridge and tilted your head in confusion. -I wonder what he’s thinking about- You thought.

“Of course you brought your microscope, you damn dork.” A raspy low voice startled you. Turning around you saw Baji smirking, sitting down with Chifuyu next to him. “Of course I did! I told you I was gonna bring it.” You puffed, he laughed while Chifuyu was looking at your notes. “Damn [Name], are you ever gonna major in Astronomy? These are some intelligent notes.” Chifuyu praised and you smiled.

“No, it’s just a hobby for me. Making something I enjoy so much into work would be so depressing.” You laughed. He nodded, agreeing. Mitsuya, Pah-chin, and Pey-yan joined looking at your notes as well, making fun of each other saying that they’d never be able to be as knowledgeable as you were. Draken praised at how you were always the brains of the group and you laughed, enjoying this moment. This was definitely gonna be a core memory for you.

You looked at Mikey at the bridge, -he’s been there for a long time- you thought. You got up, patting your clothes. “I’ll be right back guys, they nodded, still talking among themselves. You walked to where Mikey was. The wind was blowing through his tied half up hair, the last moments of the moonlight shining on him, making him look majestic. You smiled as you inched closer to him.

“It’s pretty right? I knew you’d like it~” you said proudly, crossing your arms with your chin up in the air. He chuckled as looked over at you. Moments like this made you feel so attached to Mikey, and likewise to him. You’ve guys known each other since you were young, way before Emma joined his family. You were the only person who understood him, who he could be vulnerable to, who he could always count on. When his mom died, you were the first person he ran to, he didn’t want to cry, but you had this effect on people where they could be open to you. Your warm heart touching many people, your ambitions, your sense of understanding in peoples feelings and thoughts. It’s what attracted him the most. When Shinichiro died, the same thing, you hugged him, as he sobbed to your neck. You felt so terrible for him. Why was so many awful things happen to such a good kid? You always saw stories about how bad things happen to the best people. Mikey was another victim.

Something in his heart was telling him to tell you everything about how he feels about you.

“..[Name]…” he started, it was too late to stop himself now.

“Hmm?” You softly replied. Still admiring last bit of the moonlight.

“No matter what happens, with Toman or anything else, you’ll be with me forever right?”

You looked at him finally, and found he was already staring at you. He was admiring you while you were admiring the moon. You flushed lightly, feeling shy under his gaze but unable to look away. “Of course I will. I’m willing to be with you through every trial in your life. Like always.” You smiled lovingly. His dark onyx staring into yours, you could almost see your reflection in them. His eyes shined brightly at your answer

“Then please stay with me…….forever, okay? Don’t leave me.” He said. You smiled and shook your head. “I’m not gonna go anywhere, Mikey…”

He smiled as the sun rose, the light shining on both you and Mikey as he admired your beauty.

“Oh shoot, I brought my stuff all for nothing!!” You pouted as Mikey laughed.

“Aww poor [Nickname]~~” he teased as you puffed. He smiled at your pouting face, cooing at how cute you were.

“Next time, we’ll go again. Just the two of us.” he smiled at you, a loving look in your eyes. People cool assume you guys were lovers from how he was looking at you.

You smiled yourself, looking at the sunrise. The two of you watching it together.

……

Draken smiled, remembering the moment before closing his eyes, death blurring his vision, thinking of walking with Emma. He just wished Mikey came back. It probably would have stopped you from leaving..

do you make your bed? Usually, yeah, unless I'm in a hell of a hurry.

what’s your favourite number? Probably a common answer, but 7!

what is your job? I like to describe it as wandering around a mystical maze and fulfilling people's wishes. 😉

if you could go back to school would you? Honestly? Yeah. I have huge gaps in my formal education due to neuromutant/mental health nonsense, and I'd love to remedy that.

can you parallel park? Baby, I can't even drive.

a job you had that would surprise people? I worked in a biolab assembling COVID tests for hospital use for a bit, airlocks and coveralls and all.

do you think aliens are real? You know, out of all the stories about paranormal experiences and the like, alien abduction stories are always the scariest, honestly. So while space is vast and I kinda think it's arrogant to think we're alone, so to speak... the idea is a little scary if it means those stories are all true. can you drive a manual car? Again, can't drive at all.

what’s your guilty pleasure? Honestly, I don't really feel guilty about anything that isn't actually harmful to someone. Maybe eating way too unhealthily, if anything.

tattoos? One day, I hope.

favourite colour? Deep olive green.

favourite type of music? I have a really wide taste in music, ranging from jazz to metal. Good music is good music, genre is largely irrelevant to me.

do you like puzzles? It's not something I do often, but I do like them, especially assembling those huge table-size ones with friends.

any phobias? Not any crippling ones, no. Okay, I lied, I just had a panic attack when our cabin didn't have a window when crossing over from Sweden (though to be fair anything might have triggered it at that point, I was Not Having A Good Time that day). So I might say claustrophobia. Funnily enough too open spaces also make me anxious.

favourite childhood sport? Did I even have one? I don't think so. I wasn't much of a sports person.

do you talk to yourself? Hah, yes.

what movie(s) do you adore? "Adore" is a really specific word, hmmm... Before Sunrise, for one. And now that we started with the Vienna theme, The Illusionist. Pride & Prejudice (2005) would work, too,

coffee or tea? Tea. I've never, quite literally, been able to stomach coffee.

first thing you wanted to be growing up? The very first one was probably something silly in a typical kid fashion, but the first serious ones were all in the archaeology/anthropology/history field.

Summer is for golden hour… with Barbara Segal’s “Muhheakantuck (The River that Flows Two Ways)” (2005) at MNR Yonkers station. The artwork is composed of two cast aluminum sculptures located on the face of the bridge below the tracks. “Muhheakantuck” is the Lenape name for the Hudson River. Translated into English, it means “the river that flows two ways.” Segal, a Yonkers resident, consulted both art-historical and scientific sources to evoke the river's past. During her research, Segal was taken by the fact that the river in this area can actually flow up and downstream, depending on tidal conditions. Segal explained to the Westchester Times, "The work is an abstract representation of the river... The sun and moon will constantly change the lighting on the sculpture, and the shadows will change with the sunrise and sunset." Segal’s research found that the sculpture is installed at a spot where the river's original shoreline was situated before landfill and development of the riverfront.

Romance February: Omnibus

As I prepare for the future of this blog (and there is a future, if anybody's wondering), I find myself looking back at the good times, when I had the time to watch a movie a day and write a blog about it, which...yeah, wasn't even sustainable for me in 2021, so make of that what you will. ANYWAY, I decided that I would bring all of these posts together in an omnibus of sorts, so anybody that wanted to read these posts could find them all easily in one place. This, alongside other archives, are going to be pinned to the top of my page, and will serve as a long index of the films in the appropriate genres. The goal? To extend these archives as I go along, and have this running index for my blog. And again...there will be additions...

SO! With that, feel free to check out these films in the romance genre, which is somewhat...difficult to define, honestly. Romance overlaps with a bunch of other genres, so even films that put the love story at the center of the narrative have more to them by necessity. So, just figure these as films whose narrative is driven primarily by romantic tension and motivation. Any films you'd like to see in this list? Comment, reblog, message me, whatever! Summary:

Jack is scared of the dark. (or: Lucifer proves that lightbringer is a very literal title. Sam is here for emotional support.)

Sam doesn’t startle awake anymore. He’s pretty sure that’s a side effect of the whole ‘sleeping with an archangel thing.’ There are very few things in the universe that could sneak past Lucifer undetected, and if those things happen to get into Sam’s bedroom, he’s already screwed. He might as well enjoy his ability to actually get some good sleep in the meantime, even if that comes at the cost of Lucifer inevitably sprawling out on top of him in a way that should probably feel like he’s crushing Sam. (Only, the weight of him inside his vessel, that unnatural angel density that Cas has tried and failed to explain, is nice. It’s grounding. Sam’s had few enough things in his life that make him feel safe, and it’s taken him a long time to accept that Lucifer can be one of them.)

He wakes slowly, even with the sound at the edge of his hearing becoming impossible to ignore. He blinks up into the darkness once, twice, then fumbles for his phone. He manages to knock it to the floor. He curses. He’s about to get out of bed before Lucifer makes a funny noise like a cat that doesn’t want to be picked up, and Sam’s phone is suddenly in his hand.

“Thanks,” he says. Lucifer squirms closer and presses his face against Sam’s shoulder. Lucifer seems to take offense at the idea of Sam’s personal space. Sam doesn’t think he’d be able to breathe in that position if he were human. Perks of being an angel. Sam looks at the clock on his phone. 3 AM. Witching hour. The noise that woke him rings out again, and he can tell that it’s coming from the door to his room this time. No one other than family would come knocking this late. He runs down the mental list. Dean doesn’t bother with knocking most of the time, and it’s a little too quick to be Mom or Cas. Which leaves- “Your son is here.”

“Before sunrise, he’s Castiel’s son,” Lucifer mutters. Sam lets out a tired huff of laughter. Jack has recently discovered Disney movies, and Sam has since repeatedly caught Lucifer humming songs about animated lions. (And on one particularly rough night, singing to Sam to comfort him with what he only later realized was Can You Feel the Love Tonight.) The knocking comes a third time, this time accompanied by a small voice.

“Dad?” Despite his protest, Lucifer rolls off of Sam, but then he freezes. He just stares at the door that Jack is on the other side of. Sam’s brain goes straight to old studies of dogs being shocked until they stopped struggling. Sam tells his brain to shut up.

He puts a hand on Lucifer’s shoulder, squeezes once, and then gets up and walks past him to open the door. Jack’s there, looking small and scared and every bit the child they sometimes forget he is when discussing the nuclear bomb of power he has inside him. Sam’s not sure how Jack knew to come to his room when looking for Lucifer, (he’d thought they were keeping things well under wraps, enough to not freak Dean out, at least) but he chalks it up to some kind of latent angel instinct the kid has.

“I woke you up,” Jack says, as though that possibility hadn’t crossed his mind until he was looking at Sam, who was still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Jack ducks his head. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s alright,” Sam says. “Come in.” He opens the door wider. Jack peeks inside, still hesitant. When he sees that yes, Lucifer is actually there, he looks a little relieved. “So, what happened?” The lamp on Sam’s beside table flickers to life without anyone touching it to replace the light from the hallway as Sam closes the door. The bulb whines in protest like it’s considering bursting when it does so, and Sam frowns at Lucifer. The archangel does not meet his eyes, trying to watch Jack, and then failing to watch Jack, and finally letting his gaze settle off towards the opposite wall. Jack doesn’t notice, at least. He’s looking back at Sam again.

“Dean doesn’t like being woken up in the middle of the night,” he informs Sam, and Sam nods his most understanding nod, “so I couldn’t go to Cas, because he’s sleeping in Dean’s room.” Sam manages another understanding nod. He won’t say he’s surprised, because he’s not, he is so far from surprised, but this is still information that he wasn’t expecting to receive from his sort-of adopted son at three in the morning. “And I thought...” Jack trails off.

“Why did you want to get Cas?” Jack shifts his feet awkwardly. He’s not meeting Sam’s eyes, but that’s not a product of nerves. He never looks directly at anyone, opting to stare at their shoulder or behind them instead. Dean says it’s unnerving. Sam just files it next to other things, like Jack’s hands flapping when he’s excited or how he’d probably only eat one thing for a month if they let him, and saves the information for later discussion.

“I had a nightmare,” Jack says, quietly, “and my room is very dark.” Sam opens his arms up in invitation. Jack brightens, just a little, and accepts the hug. Sam catches Lucifer’s eyes (he’s looking back at them, expression a mixture of uncertainty and surprise) and tries to convey ‘he’s your son and he’s upset, say something.’ Lucifer makes a face back that roughly translates to ‘I spent most of my life in the Cage or ending the world, I don’t know how to deal with a child.’ He relents at Sam’s puppy-dog eyes.

“Jack. Come here.” Sam can tell he’s trying for warmth. It comes out stilted. Jack wiggles his way out of Sam’s arms anyway and makes his way over to the bed. Lucifer pats the spot in front of him, and though Jack does sit there, neither of them look entirely comfortable. Jack rocks back and forth slightly. Sam comes over as well. It’s not that he thinks Lucifer will do anything intentionally bad, it’s just... There’s a reason Jack’s first instinct was to go looking for Cas and not him. Lucifer’s been routinely terrible at this whole parenting thing. It’s not for lack of trying, but he doesn’t know what he’s doing and next to Cas, who took to this whole situation like a duck to water?

Lucifer might be Jack’s dad and nothing will change that, but Cas is Jack’s dad too and nothing can change that either.

“You’re one of the nephilim. You shouldn’t be scared of the dark.” Jack curls in on himself a little. Sam makes a cutting motion with his hand near his mouth. Lucifer tries to course-correct. “You don’t have to be. You can make your own light.” Jack tilts his head, shoulders still drawn.

“I can?”

“Of course you can, you’re my-” Lucifer’s voice stops before he can finish the sentence like he’s been muted. He recovers quickly. “You’re half angel. It’s easy.”

“Okay,” Jack says, “but how?” Lucifer opens his mouth to answer and then shuts it again, frowning. “...Dad?”

“Give me a minute. It’s been a very long time since I taught anyone how to do this.” He shuts his eyes for a moment. Sam wonders how much of that hesitation is him actually trying to recollect and how much of it is him trying to push down the fact that the last time he did this was probably before he got thrown into the Cage. “Alright, let’s see.” Lucifer reaches forward and takes Jack’s hands in his own. Jack jolts back in surprise, but then he leans forward again, curiosity overriding his shock. Lucifer has him cup his hands like he’s trying to hold water in them. “This is all about intention and will, so focus.” Jack’s brow furrows in concentration.

Nothing happens.

Lucifer sighs, says under his breath, “Michael always was a better teacher than me.”

“I don’t get what I’m supposed to focus on.” Jack breaks his position, shaking his hands out nervously. He puts them back in place when he’s done. Sam would love to help, but it’s been a long time since he had any sort of psychic power and that’s not exactly a time in his life he wants to revisit.

“It’s... How do I explain this to you.” Lucifer rubs at his forehead. “No. I can’t. It’ll be easier this way.” He gestures towards Sam’s lamp, and the light dies. Jack inhales sharply, and Sam steps forward, reaching out in the dark to try and comfort the kid. Only, Sam blinks, and there is light. It’s not coming from his bedside table or even the light above him. It’s coming from Lucifer’s outstretched palm. It’s not a hovering ball of light like the cheap effects of some fantasy movie. Lucifer’s skin glows from the inside out. It grows and dims in a rhythm not unlike a heartbeat, but never once does it waver. Jack stares, transfixed. Sam can’t help but feel the same way. Lucifer glances up at him and preens under the attention. He reaches forward again to take Jack’s hands.

“Does it make more sense now?” Jack nods.

“I think so.” This time, as Jack concentrates, light does begin to flicker between his fingertips. “Is that right?”

“Yes. Keep going.” Jack wiggles, all barely contained excitement, and Sam finds himself smiling. The light Jack produces is not as steady as Lucifer’s, nor as bright, but still, Sam’s room looks like it did before Lucifer turned the lamp back off. “Very good. I told you it was easy.” Jack beams.

“It looks like Sam!” he says. Sam raises an eyebrow. Lucifer just nods.

“It does, doesn’t it?” Sam’s eyebrow creeps up higher.

“What looks like me, exactly?” Jack turns to face him, and Lucifer tilts his head. They’re both grinning, and all of a sudden, the family resemblance is obvious.

“You’re shiny!” Jack says.

“I’m what.”

“We have always been mirrors, Sam. Are you really that surprised that your soul reflects how radiant I once was?” And Sam can’t exactly say that he is, that he’s spent his entire life thinking that he was sullied, not when Jack’s right there. Lucifer smiles like he knows that, and he has so much trouble getting Sam to accept compliments normally that Sam’s sure he’s doing it on purpose. Sam counters. Turnabout is fair play.

“Mirrors only reflect what’s still there, Lucifer.” Lucifer pretends to take his words in stride, but Sam can see the few moments where he’s caught off-guard by that. Jack looks between them, and then he ducks his head and bites his lip like he’s trying to keep an even bigger grin from spreading over his face.

“Thank you,” he says, “for teaching me how to do that.” He rubs his hands together. “I can go back to my room now, I think.” Sam looks at his bed (well, their bed, really. It’s not like Lucifer ever really uses the one in his room.) It’s pretty big.

“You know, when I was a kid and I had nightmares,” Sam says, “Dean used to let me sleep in his bed.” He’s not sure if angels have childhood nightmares or beds to climb into, but from the way Lucifer’s expression goes quiet and sad, Sam thinks he might have stirred up some kind of memory. “So, I guess, if you wanted to stay-”

“Can I?” It all but leaps out of Jack. He repeats himself a second later, softer, glancing over at Lucifer. “Can I?” Lucifer blinks, shakes whatever he was thinking of off, and nods.

“If it’ll help.”

Which is how Sam learns that Jack? Is even worse about personal space than Lucifer.

Still, even if he spends the rest of the night squished between the archangel he loves more than he’s ready to admit and his son who’s being collectively raised by the village of Winchester, it’s worth it. Sam’s happy. He’s really, truly happy.

This chapter goes along with my "For You, I'll Do Anything" square.

Night Two

Back when they’d travelled together, the Doctor hardly ever seemed to sleep. Although, at the time, he’d insisted it was because of his “superior physiology,” Rose had wondered if he’d been afraid of what he might dream. Even in Pete’s World, the Doctor tended to stay up late and wake up early, although he told her it was because he was keen to pack as much into his one remaining life as he possibly could.

So, when she woke up to find he was still sleeping, curled up against her, Rose smiled. It had been a long night. She wasn’t quite sure how much time she’d spent napping on the ship, but she’d held out ‘til after midnight. Knowing him, the Doctor had kept working until he could barely keep his eyes open. And, since she knew he’d want to get started fixing the ship as soon as he was awake, Rose decided she’d go get all the remaining materials that he’d asked for before Zeni had her perception filter malfunction.

Rose started to get out of bed, tensing for a moment as he moved, afraid she’d woken him up, but he just rolled over with a mumble–it sounded like gibberish to her, although she smiled as she realised it was probably some alien language he knew. Once Rose was out of bed, it didn’t take long to get dressed. She carefully closed the door behind her as she left their cabin.

The sun wasn’t up yet, the winter sunrise in Lapland hours later than she was used to in London, but the sky was starting to get lighter. Rose could see her breath in the cold morning air. She shivered, shoving her hands deeper into her pockets. Despite the cold, as she looked around at the cabins and snow covered landscape, Rose had to admit Saariselka was stunningly pretty.

She set off after the aluminium cans first. It wasn’t particularly early, so there were several other guests on their way to the restaurant as well. The building was all rustic chic, with light-coloured wood panelling and reindeer antlers affixed to the chandelier at the front. “Can I have a seat over by the bar?” Rose asked, to the hostess’ nod.

The hostess walked her over to a table that gave Rose a good view of the well-stocked bar. She perused the menu, grateful to see there were plenty of beverages on it that would come in cans. If she went around the back after getting some breakfast, she could nick several from the bin.

She’d just tracked down some tea and decided against trying the herring at the buffet, instead scooping up a generous helping of bacon and eggs to go with her toast. Then she sat back down. As soon as she took a bite, the Doctor slid into the seat across from hers. He was dressed in a dark green sweater her mum had bought for him over the holiday. His hair was still mussed from sleep.

“I woke up and you were gone,” he said, absently tapping the table with his fingers. And, although his tone was light, the look in his eyes was worried.

Rose leaned over to her hand on his. “Sorry. I hoped I’d be back before you woke up. I wanted to get the rest of the materials you needed.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Got peckish, did you?”

Rose grinned. “One thing I learned from travelling with you is to eat whenever you can. Never know when you’ll have to run. Besides, it would look a bit suspicious if I poked around in the bins instead of going inside. Now at least I can pretend to be looking for something.”

“Good plan.” He patted his pocket. “And I found some lubricant.” A hotel guest walking by their table shot him a dirty look as she heard that last sentence, pulling her child’s hand as they walked away. The Doctor’s cheeks turned pink. “Not that kind of…oh, never mind.”

Rose couldn’t help but laugh at his expression. For all that he was brilliant, he could say all manner of daft things without realising how they’d sound to anyone else. She patted his hand again. “Bet they think we’re going to have a very different sort of day than we are.”

The look he gave her was full of heat. “Well, maybe not a completely different sort of day. Not if I can get Zeni’s transportation sorted out, that is. Speaking of,” he said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the sonic screwdriver below the table, “suppose I should run a scan, see if there’s any trace of what shorted out her communicator.”

Rose nodded. “Oh, did I tell you about Jake’s latest date?” she asked before launching into a story about their Torchwood colleague’s most recent dating escapade so nobody would notice the sound of the sonic. The Doctor gave her an easy smile as he ran the scan, then squeezed her hand when he’d finished.

Then she caught sight of someone walking by the window and went very still.

As soon as Rose’s hand tightened on his, the Doctor sat up in his chair. He fought the urge to turn around. “What is it?” he asked, keeping his voice low.

“It’s the same man from yesterday. The shifty one. He saw me with Zeni.”

“Has he noticed you, do you think?”

Rose shook her head.

The Doctor looked down at the sonic, thinking. From his scan, it was clear Zeni’s perception filter had gotten ‘help’ shorting out. And he wasn’t familiar with the tech that had caused the malfunction. That was the trouble with a brand new universe–he’d told Rose once that parallel worlds were like a gingerbread house, full of traps you didn’t see until it was too late. And yet, given the choice between his life with Rose in this strange new world and living on his own in his home universe, he had to admit he’d choose the gingerbread house every time.

“What do you think is going on?” Rose asked, voice low.

“I don’t know. And I really hate not knowing. Should we ask him, do you think?”

Rose’s hand tightened on his. “No. He hasn’t seen you yet. I’ll follow him while you go help Zeni. Maybe it’s nothing; he could look shifty because he’s stepping out on his partner or about to cheat on his diet. But, if it is something, then you need to help Zeni get away.”

“Rose….”

She gave him a look he knew well. It meant he was about to lose whatever argument they were having. “I’m trained for this. Torchwood, remember? And I know you could do it too, but I can’t help Zeni get home. She needs you.”

“And I need you,” he reminded her, threading his fingers through hers. This was supposed to be simple; answering a distress call, just the two of them, just like old times. He hadn’t wanted to get Torchwood or UNIT involved for once; he’d just wanted to help someone fix their spaceship and then have a romantic weekend with his wife. Splitting up like characters in a horror movie? That wasn’t supposed to happen.

“Recon only, Sarge,” Rose swore, saluting him with her free hand. Then she lowered her voice again. “Remember the dimension cannon? You should know by now I’d do anything to get back to you,” she said before smiling at him with her tongue between her teeth. “Besides, we still haven’t tried out that bed.”

“I’ll hold you to that.”

“Promise?” Rose asked, smiling wider.

“Oh, yes.”

Trying not to draw attention to themselves, Rose finished up her food before they left the table. When they passed by the buffet, the Doctor grabbed some sausages and toast as well, reflecting that Rose was right about it being a good idea to eat whenever the opportunity came up. They walked out hand-in-hand. As soon as they were out the door, he tugged her to the side of the building, heading for the bins.

Luckily, the recyclables were separated already. It was the work of a moment to get the amount of aluminium he needed. He safely stowed them in the pockets of his coat. Then he heard a noise and, suddenly, Rose was kissing him.

As soon as the back door of the restaurant had opened, Rose had acted reflexively and launched herself at the Doctor, kissing him for all she was worth. She buried her hands in his hair, making it even messier than it had been before. And, as surprised as the Doctor was by the sudden kiss, he was clearly willing to follow her lead, opening his mouth under hers almost instantly, pulling her closer with an arm around her waist.

The staff member had to cough for a second time before Rose and the Doctor broke apart. “This area is off limits to guests,” the young man said, sounding torn between annoyance and laughter. He had a full bin bag at his feet.

“Sorry. Won’t happen again,” Rose promised breathlessly, grabbing onto the Doctor’s hand and pulling him away with her. He had that glazed look she loved, the one that told her she’d succeeded in kissing him senseless. It didn’t happen often–he almost never stopped thinking with that Time Lord mind of his–but she’d figured out a few ways that always seemed to do it.

They left the restaurant area, heading back to their cabin through the trees when the Doctor laughed. “You know, if you wanted a genetic transfer so you’d have some alien DNA on you to confuse any sensors the man might have, all you had to do was ask,” he said with an exaggerated wink.

Rose rolled her eyes. “Ta. And I still can’t believe you kissed Martha and told her it was a ‘genetic transfer’ that meant nothing. King of mixed bloody signals, you are.”

He frowned. “A kiss seemed like the best option at the time, considering the Judoon and the hospital full of people running out of air. Do you think it would have been better if I’d licked her face?”

Rose gave him a look. “Licking her face would’ve been confusing in an entirely different way. Still, don’t think you’d have survived without Martha, so maybe a kiss was the right option. I just hope other you gives her one hell of an apology.”

“Yeah,” the Doctor said, tugging at his earlobe. Rose rolled her eyes again. She loved the man with all her heart, but Martha had made the right choice, leaving when she did. He hadn’t treated Martha well at all. And the fact that the Doctor had been acting like that because he’d been grieving losing her at Canary Wharf…well, Rose wished she could apologise to Martha too. And thank her. Because, without Martha, without Donna, the Doctor wouldn’t be here.

Rose swung their hands together as they trudged through the snow. For the moment, they were just newlyweds, walking through a snowy forest together on a glamorous mini-break. Which they were, of course, although her husband was planning to spend the day fixing a spaceship with a gorgeous bird-like alien at the same time Rose followed someone who might be dangerous. Just like old times: danger, exotic locations, aliens.

And Rose wouldn’t have it any other way. Especially because, unlike old times, there was the promise of sex later.

They were nearly to their cabin when Rose spoke up again. “Can you fix the ship by tonight, do you think?”

“Well,” he drawled, “I am a genius.”

“I dunno, I remember what you did to the toaster last week,” she teased.

“I made it more efficient!”

“You made it launch the toast across the room.”

“Exactly! No need to get up again to fetch the toast.”

“Good job my mum wasn’t there. Would’ve scared her half to death.”

“Nah, Jackie’s made of sterner stuff than that,” he said easily, then came to a halt in the snow with mounting horror as he realised the words that had just come out of his mouth. “Don’t tell her I said that.”

Rose grinned. “Don’t worry…I’ll save it for her birthday.”

He tugged her against his side and she laughed. “Anyway, now that I have the aluminium–”

“--and lubricant,” Rose supplied brightly, patting at his pocket, but mostly just patting his bum.

“Yes, that too,” he said, raising an eyebrow as he looked down at her, trying for a stern expression that quickly became a grin when she patted his bum again. “I’ll be able to fix the ship the rest of the way, as long as whatever took out her perception filter stays well clear.”

“And I’ll keep an eye on things here. Make sure nobody follows you.”

“You’ll call if you get into trouble?”

Rose raised her eyebrows. “Ta very much. Trained agent, remember? What are you planning to do if I call?”

“For you, I’ll do anything.” He’d loved Rose so much, he hadn’t regenerated after that Dalek had shot him when they’d found each other again–that choice was why this version of him existed at all, why he’d been able to save all of reality with Donna. And, although he hadn’t thought it was possible, he loved Rose even more now than he had back then. What would he do for her? Wrong question. What wouldn’t he do for her?

She looked up at him, eyes shining. “I’ll call if I need to,” she promised. Then she stood up on tiptoe and pressed a kiss against his cheek. “But I won’t need to.”

Title: Cuteness Member - [Cude's Alter Ego] Decu

This is "Decu" 🐰🤖😈, Cude's alter devilish ego; With his uniform changes to black, gray and red, his shirt was gray and black, his boots turn grey with bend pointy to the end and all of his fur, his cotton hair into spike black , his buck tooth become devil sharpened with additional razor-edge teeth even his paws too, and finally his eyes are now red and black pupil. Thus, Cude's alter ago!

And his custom "Cuteness Mecha Armor" with his main weapon custom scythe and shield, he called it the armored "MADNUG".😈 A spell backward for "GUNDAM".

You know, I've watched "SD Gundam Force" aired on Toonami, back in 2005. It was underwhelming show to celebrate the Gundam franchise, back then to say the least. But, I decided to put that name for his armor sake. 😉

BTW:

No. 1: His alter ego was only appeared in Halloween 🎃, every year. So, you won't see Decu and his devil pet Haro, daily. (For now...)

And No.2: In French 🇫🇷 - the word "déçu" means Frustrate, Disappointed and Crestfallen. And also this is the only word that I could fit in for Cude's alter ego... Also the "RD" stands for "Rabbit Devil" and the "06" just little touch of the devil "666".
