It's so hard to do things you like or find them when you come from a home with no financial stability. Like my entire career and degree is because I am afraid of being like my parents, financially unstable and illiterate. I do not like auditing and neither did I like my degree in finance, it was the easiest course I could do and still be able to find a plethora of jobs. I cried yesterday before going to work unprompted, tears just fell involuntarily. I used to dream of doing nothing but travelling the world but I am aware that in this economy that is not viable and I need to have a career that would allow for that financially and that I enjoy but all remote finance jobs require 10 years of experience and I am still a child.

It is never talked about how coming from affluent families gives you the freedom of choice, if I came from an affluent family I would never do a degree in finance, unless I was interested, I would do whichever degree or choose any career journey I was interested in.

I am grateful of my big 4 audit job, do not get me wrong, but I am miserable because I am doing something I do not love everyday and I will probably keep doing something I do not enjoy for money and financial stability for the rest of my life.
