Hi, for the biker gang kid pirates, I can see them gathering at an habitual club for having beers all together (beers and liquors would be a lot in their style). They know very well the owner (or he/she can be one of them) and they do reunite for many parties or just for spending the night. I think it could be the perfect place to get to know them better and get closer to them (in every sense 😏) because when they go there, they drink and have fun so they're more laid back than usual. The place would play rock and heavy metal music and the parking lot is full with their motorcycles. Everyone in town know that is "their place" so if someone is up for trouble, they think twice before going there. I think, as you said before, that a lot of their groupies and suitors would follow them. Some of the members of the gang had also create a little band and they sing original songs or covers of their favourite songs. In those nights they do have like little concerts with a good crowd cheering them and having mosh pits in the most dynamic moments. If you want to catch their attention, go in their club and be bold enough!

i can see the owner of the club belonging to the s/o of one of the members (probably Reck's girlfriend) but some members like Reck and Emma work there instead of in Kid's mechanic business. the club is owned by Reck's girlfriend but the gang often regularly help to pay the bills and fix up faulty sections for her. all renovations are down by the crew personally for free because they don't trust anyone else to be as careful with the club.

it usually opens as Kid's mechanic shop closes and stays open until the sun comes up. however, they're not always at the club and not all members are there same time unless it's an event, celebration or a meeting. the club is definitely their go to place for business meetings with other gangs since it's in the middle of their territory and the staff are almost all in their gang or support them, although there are a couple of regular people on the bar staff and technical support crew for the stage. when they are there, their bikes are locked up outside in a custom built bike rack (made by Kid) and they can be spotted in the VIP section of the club taking up all of the seats.

i feel like the band that you mentioned would likely consist of Killer on the drums, Boogie as the vocalist, Papas as the keyboard player, Moai on bassist and Heat on guitar. however, the band probably switches members depending on who is available that night and what songs they're playing. the mentioned members above are the founding members of the band.

but the band is incredibly popular, especially with people who are considered outcasts or with queer youth. Reck's girlfriend advertises the band by putting up fliers on bulletin boards and attached to the windows of shops that approve of the gang. the fliers are often collected by groupies to the band since each week's is different (courtesy of Heat's photoshop skills).

Modern AU Buggy headcanons/ideas(?)

warnings: SFW, mentions of drug use

a/n: I’m surprised I haven’t seen a lot modern x reader AUs with Buggy, so I decided to jot down some ideas I had!! This is also just an excuse for me to imagine Jeff Ward bc the brainrot is consuming me he’s so hot.

• Off the bat the first thing people notice about him is his nose; it’s not a ridiculously large, red clown nose, but the tip of his nose is abnormally rounded; after a few seconds of looking at it, it goes relatively unnoticeable once you get used to it but he is still VERY insecure about it.

• “Buggy” is probably a nickname he got from either playing on a football team as a kid, or a username for some video game. His real name is something he’s embarrassed about like Benjamin or something.

• I imagine that instead of pirates and pirate crews, these people are bikers with biker gangs. Idk it sounds hot to me.

• Sorry not sorry but I can’t see a modern Buggy who isn’t a stoner.

• I don’t see Buggy having a clown persona in a modern AU since he doesn’t have the nose for him to wanna cope with it, BUT he seems like a guy who can do some pretty rad sketches and he often just draws creepy clowns.

• Still has his luscious long blue hair of course, I imagine he uses box dye and usually keeps it in a pony tail or a man bun. It’s super soft and fluffy bc men just have a natural talent of having healthy hair without doing anything to take care of it for some reason.

Modern au trans Ace has been consuming my mind lately so I thought I'll just share all of my headcanons or else I'll explode:

• Sabo was the first person he had come out to. It happened when they were around 9. Ace had always felt that something was "wrong" about him. That the way he acted, his interests and past times, and just how he would do things were "unnatural" or wierd". Once Ace became familiar with the conspet of transgenderism he just opened up to him, and was met with instant support.

• Immediately after this, Sabo gave Ace his (trademark) transgender haircut in the bathroom of Dadan's house. She actually entered it while they were there and upon seeing it she cried out of happyness. (Mothers know everything)

• Coming out to Garp was a bit harder for Ace since he wasn't sure how an older person would have reacted, I mean Garp just left there his grand"daughter" and came back to a grandson after all. But we all know that Garp would never discriminate, and plus now he has another grandson to train.

• Luffy arrived in his life after a full year after he had transitioned, so at first Ace wasn't sure how to exacly explain this to Luffy, but he did manage to open up to him after they officially became brothers. Luffy wasn't just an innocent kid, while he didn't fully understood concepts like transphobia, to him Ace is just his brother so if anyone is mean to him or calls him names he'll just kick their asses.

• Ace had been homeschooled for the 5 years that would have been him attending elementary school. Middle school was the first time he attended an actual school and at first he wasn't open or confident at all and was ready to just beat up anyone who tried to shit talk him.

• Surprisingly he made a few friends. They were mostly just Luffy's friends who were older than him or his friends's siblings, but he appreciated it anyway. His absolute best friend ever tho is Kuina. I hd her as non binary using she/they so its just trans supporting trans, and they also have like a million of other reasons to be friends but those were already pointed out.

• His top surgery was payed by none other than his father Newgate. The Whitebeards pirates would be just this one tatoo shop Ace works at that Newgate he opened after "retiring" from biker gangs and stuff.

• Obbligatory T4T Yamace, but we all already knew this, didn't we?

• Ace gets the best older trans guy advice from Franky. Because to me, he is just what every trans guy aspires to be, cool and hardboiled. And who wouldn't want to get advice from the dude who did his own top surgery in his father's mechanic shop at 15?

These are all from me, but feel free to add your own or elaborate on the ones you like.

Trans Ace is so real to me that I quite literally can't imagine him being cis. It's just so,,, Weird to me. And I absolutely love everything you said. I definitely think Sabo was the first one to know and the one who helped Ace the most with his transition, also telling Garp, who actually is way better (if you can say 'better' when something isn't even 'good' but yeah) at raising boys. At least he understands them better. So I think he wouldn't have a problem with it at all even if he's more on the "I don't really get it that much, kid, but as long as you're happy" type of vibe. I agree with everything,, When he was younger he really didn't interact with many people and usually preferred to be alone. Teachers considered him more of a problematic kid than anything, and always compared him to Sabo with the typical "how are you like this when your brother is just so polite and smart!?" but then Sabo always ends up fighting the teachers for saying that shit in front of the class and Sabo stops being so perfect in their eyes (also he starts rebelling himself a lot against the educational system lmao). And not to talk shit about Garp, but talking shit about Garp I'm sure Ace would get in trouble a lot and Garp wouldn't show up to the meetings with Ace's teachers. That only makes Ace feel lonelier and everyone thinks he's extremely troubled. When he's literally a sweetheart to both Sabo and Luffy,, When he meets Luffy's friends, he starts to open up to people. He still gets in a lot of trouble, honestly, but that's just him. I think his classmates find out about him being trans, of course, and not a lot of people are okay with that. He truly wants to fight them but he knows that if he keeps going like this he'll get expelled and he doesn't like the idea of leaving Sabo and Luffy alone ('doesn't like the idea' meaning he almost gets expelled and Sabo had to scold him and tell him that even though he has his own friends he doesn't know what he would do without him in school), so Luffy and Sabo are usually the one defending him a lot of the time since the teachers, even though they're chaotic, don't really hate them (because look at those cutie patooties how could you hate Luffy???? He gets along even with teachers). The Whitebeard pirates accept him with open arms and he finally feels he has a place to belong to. Newgate doesn't even offer to pay for the surgery, he just pays without telling him first because he knows Ace wouldn't have let him do it otherwise. He's so so grateful for them. And his brothers. And his friends. And everybody that has ever supported him. I think that he has lots of issues with depression and self-image and he often has a hard time when he acts impulsively, but Newgate always helps him. He grounds him. Gives him something to focus on. And Franky is soooo fun to be around. Newgate tells him to go see Franky and give him the money he owes him, and that's how they meet, basically. It's obvious he's trans because he goes shirtless all the time and scars are there and everything... And Ace just has to ask about his experience. Franky helps him gladly. And it's not only cathartic but also very comforting. He also meets Robin there!!!! Because married Frobin in this one. And I think Ace would absolutely love her because she keeps being oh so nice to him. She kind of reminds him of Makino, and it's extremely sweet. I think Ace now goes to help Franky from time to time when the Tattoo shop doesn't really need him there or, well, whenever he wants to because he also is extremely interested in bikes.

T4T Yamace my beloved.... Guys being guys. Dudes being dudes. I think they meet because Newgate tells Ace something about this man Kaido (leader of a gang) who owes him lots of money or something or did something very nasty to him yadda yadda Maybe they just have beef from when Newgate was into the gang stuff. And Ace keeps saying he should go and settle things with Kaido and beat him up for that, but Newgate is retired and he really, really doesn't give a single fuck about it. Lmao. Ace says he could take down Kaido himself. Newgate laughs. Ace is too proud. So he ends up looking for Kaido and fighting Yamato late at night in the street and,, Well. You know how it goes. They become daddy issues besties and turns out Yamato does not want to follow his dad's steps. Ace is curious about Yamato's experience because he doesn't seem to want to have surgery or anything, and they keep bonding over their pasts and family and Yamato ends up joining the friend group. And it's so cute. Newgate can see the kid is in love because every day he waits for Yamato to come pick him up to hang out. Or maybe he begs to get out earlier to go see Yamato. He keeps talking about Yamato,,, All the time. Even Sabo and Luffy are done with him. It's endearing.

TGIFF – thank goodness its fuckin Friday! A long and exhausting week now behind you after a delicious late-afternoon nap, you can finally get your weekend going! First things first, phone. No better feeling than laying snug in bed and scrolling. Snug as a bug in a rug, want a hug?

Laughing to yourself at the internal rhyme, your carefree tone drops as anguish roils in your stomach. There are several notifications on your screen banner. But the one that makes you feel like you’re going to scream is the notification for KillerCook going live.

An hour and a half ago.

You take measured breaths as you robotically punch in your passcode and open the app, praying to any deity willing to help to keep you from missing a chance at seeing them.

Your reasons for breathing.

For going on each grueling day.

You suck in air as the app connects to your internet, only to let out a whimpering sigh of relief when you see the live is still going.

‘KillerCook is live: Kid Pirates BACA it up!!’

“GODS THEY’RE SO FUCKING COOL AND AMAZING!!!!” you squeal into your pillows. Giddily kicking your feet into the rumpled sheets, you press the volume button to its highest setting.

“Gang, thanks so much, take a moment and give yourself a shoulder pat. We’ve been live for nearly two hours and we met the donation goal in the first 50 minutes. I’ve never had to improv so much in my [redacted] life!!” the head chef gushed to the camera. “We really appreciate the enthusiasm to see us strip down and crush things in support of our biker crew chapter. Each donation means a lot not only to us but to the people its going to help.”

“Now the finale you’ve all been waiting for,” Killer teased as he and the others began to dress down into the dangerously skin tight swim trunks they wore under their respective pants.

“The big squeeze! To recap, our highest donors would get the privilege of having their user name on the melon as we squeeze them between our thighs. Who should start?”

The app notifications were pinging so fast that it sounded like the alarm itself was having a stroke.

“You can’t vote for me all 4 times,” Kid rolled his eyes, “Try again and actually follow directions!”

After an unsatisfactory stalemate, Kid made the executive decision to direct the line up. Wire was the first man to squeeze his melon.

Wire’s swim pants left nothing to the imagination, probably a bit more than he intended as he wrapped his towel around his pelvis and lower stomach.

A round, plump watermelon sat snug in his lap, the lucky patron – NightmareBeforeAugust.

“Hope your head doesn’t pop for realsies,” Wire winked before making overdramatic stretching motions. Properly limber, he adjusted his seat crossing his calves over each other as the melon began to develop bumps and tears on the skin.

Clasping his hands shut and locking his ankles tight, Wire squeezed his thighs again causing the watermelon to split vertically. Juice sprayed and splattered across his lap and chest, little chunks of melon lightly hit his face from the force.

“Juicy,” Wire laughed.

Heat was the next victim. He wore slightly looser fitting swim trunks that came down mid-thigh. His toned legs were still visible exposing his thorny vine tattoos extended down his thighs stopping at the knee.

Pulling his hair back in a loose bun, Heat lowered safety glasses over his eyes and pulled a travel-sized bottle of tajín from his pocket.

“Really, Heat?”

“What? A man has needs.”

Doing a quick stretch routine, Heat nestled the watermelon in between his thighs. The patron, SlapMyMass_ND_CallMe, was inked across the fruit with bright silver marker.

“Hey is it cheating if I’m holding it with my hands? I just wanna make sure it doesn’t slide out or anything,” Heat asked.

“Heat is weak you heard it here first folks!” Kid crowed in the background, the sunny rays bouncing off his aviator sunglasses. Heat threw a bottle of sun lotion at the redhead.

“Only if you don’t use your hands to actually break it. I don’t know, I would say its fine but we’d need to see your watermelon up close and personal.”

Moving the camera so it was right in front of Heat, “Ok viewers, call his ass out if he cheats!”

Wire was barking with laughter, “OI! JaneyM1098 says: ‘If I’m seeing his ass I’m staying friggin silent, no one snitch!!!!’”

That made Kid and Killer roar with laughter. Heat looked unimpressed with everyone.

Clearing his throat, Heat adjusted himself until he was seated in a yoga position, commonly known as the boat pose. Balancing on his sitting bones, Heat clasped the watermelon vertically in his hands, bringing them to the upper part of his thighs just before the knees.

 Hooking his ankles together quickly, Heat applied an immense amount of pressure that made the watermelon practically crumble between his thighs. Pulp and juice coats his hands and thighs – to which he grabbed his tajín powder and started lightly coating his hands.

“Heat not on camera Jesus!” Kid grimaced as the bluette licked his hands clean.

“Eat my shorts.”

“No [redacted] thanks.”

“Kid you’re up,” Killer threw a towel at the redhead’s face.

Eustass Kid has muscles for days.

His body a never ending river of waves, channels, and dips from the contours of his physique. The perfect amount of muscle to body fat ratio, a near perfect human specimen. Wearing a deep red bathing suit that really should be considered just briefs – they were a snug fit.

“I’ll bust this melon in less than 30 seconds,” Kid proudly boasted, lightly tossing his watermelon in the air. “Hey CraftyBitchNextDoor, I last way longer than that,” he winked at the camera, making the others groan.

Dropping to the ground, Kid leaned at an incline while raising his legs in the air. Putting the melon between his thighs, Kid put his arms behind his head and stuck his tongue out at the camera.

The watermelon put up no resistance as Kid’s thighs squished it, making the melon pop as the red flesh oozed from the rind and all over his body. Juice squirted out and hit his chest, running down to his lap and red chunks of flesh pooled with it as he laid back, proud of his accomplishment.

“That was 8 seconds babe!” Kid his hand up with the sign of the horns, waving it back and forth.

The notifications were beginning to buzz over the music.

“Ok these comments are way too horny for chat, you’re all perverts!” Wire admonished the viewers. “Killer let’s wrap this up, I can’t even say the things I want to say without your audience going [redacted] feral. Suffice to say, I want to shower up and clean this juice off me!”

“Oi don’t rush me, this is my show!” the blonde scoffed, peeling off his sweaty white stringer tank top. Sitting on the floor, Killer rolled the watermelon between his palms as if he was checking to find the fruit’s weak point.

Facing the melon forward so the top donator’s name was easy to see, “- _LickMeImUrLollipop thank you for being one of the most generous people that’s supported this channel. You’re donation was so large I almost wanted to deny it. I feel like I need to pay you back or something,” he chuckled.

“Ohh shit she answered!” Heat called out excitedly. “If you wanna make me dinner as thanks I wouldn’t be opposed.” Letting out a wolf howl, “Killer’s got a hot date!”

“Shut up Heat!” Killer’s neck was flushed red. “Hmmm we’ll talk Lollipop. For now, I’m gonna squish your melon. In the name of Bikers Against Child Abuse!” Killer placed the melon between his thighs.

“I hope you join us for another charity stream in the future y’all. You’ve impressed us so much and we know of a ton of places that can use help from people like you.”

Without further flair, Killer slammed his thighs together making the watermelon burst and fly apart. As red juice and flesh rained around the TikTok influencer, he took a moment to flex his biceps for the camera.

“Yeah, I did that. I slayed that!” Killer chuckled again. “Ok, I’ve getting too silly which means its time to say goodbye,” he stood up with his friends surrounding him.

“I love you all, catch you next time! This has been Faffaffaffa-Food with Killer.”

me: so the kragdu break up in vol 2 literally happened because kraglin's the stepdad who always felt like he had to compete with the kid and he was just sick of it and he has a really interesting fraught but loving relationship with peter that's sort of fatherly and sort of weird-uncle-y, where they both really care about each other but struggle to define it. whereas yondu laid eyes on that kid and was like. full momma-duck mode. I am a parent now. I am going to do an absolutely AWFUL job of this because I have processed precisely 0 of my trauma and I think hitting a kid to teach him how to fight and keeping him in fear by threatening to eat him at every opportunity is what Good Pirate Parenting looks like because hey, it's better than selling your baby into slavery, right!!!! :DDDD and the two of them are trying to keep this fragile sack of human (or... potentially...... HALF GOD) flesh alive and THE FUCK AWAY from his Evil Child-Murdering Sperm Donor while pretending they just fucking kidnapped him on. a literal whim. for the funsies (and to stop him chasing down the truth, but where Yondu 'babytalks as a really weird power move' Udonta's involved, let's be honest.... it's mostly for the funsies). All while babysitting their ultraviolent gang of leather-clad space-biker-pirates who will MUTINY AND SLAUGHTER ALL OF THEM if they show Peter any overt affection or favouritism. meanwhile Peter LITERALLY JUST LOST HIS MOM and was KIDNAPPED UNDER EXTREMELY TRAUMATIC CIRCUMSTANCES FROM HIS HOME PLANET AND HIS WHOLE FAMILY. Sure, he's an excited and adventurous kid by nature who loooooves space and exploring new worlds (what kid DOESN'T want to be a space pirate???) but the realities of Ravagering are rough and bloody even if they're sometimes fun. He's desperately trying to keep hold of the little boy his mom loved, the boy who got beat up by the bullies at the river trying to protect a helpless little frog. Trying to preserve something of her - of himself - through a lifeline of seventies/eighties bops. And against all the odds, IT WORKS! Peter finally flies the nest, goes his own way and gets his own crew, and hasn't absorbed that cycle of abuse!! he is a GOOD DAD to groot!!!! he is.... recovering from alcoholism and a WHOLE lot of grief, but in the end, he comes home to Earth, changed in so many ways, some for the worse but most for the better -

2022 Fic Recap

While I didn’t write as many words in 2022 as in 2021, I had some accomplishments that I’m proud of. First, I finished my tentpole fic, “Lead Me Back to Suffering.” I also wrote quite a few one-shots, participated in several events, and joined a couple of zines (though those fics didn’t make it onto my 2022 recap since they won’t appear until 2023). 

Overall, I wrote 95K+ words in 2022. Here is my year in writing review:

One-Shots

“Underneath the Shadow (of Mistakes I’ve Made)” (Gen | PG-13 | 4,307 words): The Heart Pirates are ambushed during a resupply run, and their captors use them as bait for their captain—the newest Warlord, Trafalgar Law.

“Misery Weightless as a Stone” (Dubcon DofLaw | Explicit | 4,100 words): Three months after Shachi lost his arm in the Colosseum, Doflamingo took Law to his bed for the first time.

“Among Our Enemies” (Gen | PG-13 | 5,658 words): In the city of Dressrosa, med student Trafalgar Law runs an underground clinic for the down and out. Monkey D. Luffy leads a group of self-styled vigilantes called the Straw Hats. Eustass Kid studies mechanical engineering by day and leads a biker gang by night. Their paths cross when a new drug called Smile hits the streets. Shenanigans ensue.

“Consequences” (Gen | PG-13 | 2,165 words): The night before Luffy and Law face Doflamingo, Luffy grapples with the sacrifices Law has made to protect his nakama from Doflamingo after saving him at Marineford.

“Coming Home (To Breathe Again, To Start Again)” (Lawlu | PG | 2,010 words): Law had a… complicated relationship with the concept of home.But here on the beach of Wano with Luffy looking at him with such fondness that Law wanted to squirm, he thought that maybe home could be another person.

“Floriography” (Gen | PG | 4,095 words): Five times Rosinante taught Law to communicate through the language of flowers, and one where Law turned the lesson on Rosinante.:

“Your Needs Answered” (Pre-Relationship Lawlu | PG | 2,276 words) To be fair, Law supposed, he had been warned. 

For Luffy, an alliance meant friendship. And for Luffy, friendship meant everything. Once Luffy, in his idiotic wisdom, had decided someone was his friend, he would do anything for them. He had taken one look at Law’s plans, thrown them away, and somehow still gotten to the core of what Law had wanted all along.

“I Want Your Laughter (Like The Flower I Was Waiting For)” (Lawlu | PG-13 | 3,213 words): Luffy notices Law doesn't smile or laugh much and decides to do something about it—and falls in love along the way.

“Memoriam” (Lawlu | PG | 1,250 words): “You do,” Luffy said after a quiet moment.

Torao blinked. “What?”

“Have something of Cora-san’s,” Luffy clarified. Torao frowned and opened his mouth to argue, but Luffy slipped his hand into Torao’s and pressed their linked hands to Torao’s bandaged chest. “Right here. His memory. His love.”

• ok i haven’t even started the episode I’ve only read the description but I remember some of this bomb plot. I vaguely remember somebody weevil knows (whether someone in his biker gang or an enemy I don’t remember) being chained or something in the school by weevil, and then the school explodes or has to be demolished or something and he’s trapped in there and dies?? I’m definitely getting some details wrong but I definitely remember their being a bombing and somebody dying

• lol ok so my first thought was yes bomb threats should be taken seriously, but wow everyone is freaking out. and then I realized I was looking at this from a 2024 perspective. bomb threats were the norm when I was in high school, particularly 2013-2014. not like an insane amount but I do remember a few. We also had “bomb threat Tuesdays” where high schools in my district would try and make bomb threats on Tuesdays. (Very aptly named). Whenever there was a threat we would leave the school, literally sit in the parking lot (which also confused the fuck out of me, cause if there actually was a bomb and it went off we’d probably be injured or dead) and then it’d be cleared and we’d go back inside. But I guess in 2004 it was not the norm, plus this is a TV show so also added dramatic effect?

179. The Secret History of Georgian London, by Dan Cruickshank

Owned: No, library Page count: 568 My summary: Sex work is the 'oldest profession', an institution that has been around, legally or illegally, since the idea of work began. In Georgian London, sex work was particularly prolific, and Dan Cruickshank is here to explore exactly what impact it had on the city. My rating: 4/5 My commentary:

This is so, so very me. I have a fascination with English history, but in particular I like periods that aren't the two most commonly discussed in this country - namely, the Victorians and the Tudors. Sure, it's not like the Georgians are the most obscure period of history or anything, but as part of my love of pirates and the golden age of piracy, the 1700s is a particular focus of mine. And I particularly love working-class histories, histories that show parts of the world that aren't full of rich people being rich and influential. And, well, working-class histories are pretty much the opposite of that as you can get. Hence my excitment when I saw this book in the reserve at work. And this book does not disappoint!

One thing that I particularly liked about this book is that it takes both the broad strokes of sex work in Georgian London and the more specific, personal histories and talks about them equally. As well as talking about how much a sex worker might earn based on averages and evidence at the time, the book talks about the lives of specific sex workers and what we can know about their histories and personalities. It also covers as much of the sex industry as possible from the street-level sex workers to the bawds and pimps at the top of the chain, from high-class courtesans to people dabbling in sex work to make ends meet. And that includes molly houses and male sex workers! A fair amount of the book talks about the entrapment involved in people's investigations into male sex work and the brief rise of homophobic attacks on molly houses and male sex workers which led to executions. I really enjoyed reading about the lives of specific sex workers, like the woman who reportedly measured her lovers' penises and charged them a guinea extra for each inch under ten they were, or the woman who purportedly (Cruickshank finds a few conflicting sources on this) ate a substantial amount of money because it wasn't enough for her services.

The book talks about culture and attitudes towards sex work too - the idea of the poor, innocent country woman seduced and used by the city's rakes and bawds, in particular with reference to the series of paintings called the Harlot's Progress and the Beggar's Opera. They're a good look at the contradictions of Georgian thinking about sex work. Sex workers can be innocent and pitiable, but only to a point. A non-exploited sex worker, or a sex worker who enjoys her profession, was anathema to Georgian thinking. Bawds who enticed others into sex work were reviled. Male sex workers were unnatural. But rakes who exploited young women could be given a bit more of a free pass than the women they exploited were - it's highly situational, of course, but generally speaking women got most of the ire of the general public for being sexually active or engaging in sex work. Obviously.

Overall, this is a really comprehensive look at sex work in Georgian London, and if this is the kind of thing you're interested in I'd really recommend it.

I can’t help seeing Stede Bonnet as a basic, sheltered, suburban, upper class dad, who did what the world asked of him: got married, had a couple of kids and tried his hardest to hide the fact that he’s gay, even from himself. He keeps telling himself he’s happy, that this is what he’s supposed to do with his life. Keeps telling himself he’s attracted to women. 

Then, when he breaks away from the suffocating (if well meaning) embrace of his suburban family, and makes his way into the world, doing something he’s always dreamed of doing, (even if he’s very bad at it) he still can’t quite admit to himself that he’s deeply attracted to men.

Until of course he sees Ed for the first time. Sees that leather clad swagger and that long, rippling hair and handsome face. Men don’t look like this where Stede comes from. They look perfumed and powdered, quaffed and bewigged. They look soft and pampered. Meanwhile, Ed looks like some sort of feral jungle cat who could rip Stede’s face off if he’s not careful and he is INCREDIBLY TURNED ON BY THIS. 

Ed is the motorbike riding, death metal listening, pot smoking, crime doing bad boy that Stede has very carefully fantasized about in his most private moments, and the minute he sees Ed, he’s a gonner. Just massively in love from day one. From moment one. All of a sudden he realizes that he’s very, very gay and newly in love with an infamous pirate captain. The sheltered suburban dad falls for the ex con leader of a biker gang. How perfect is that?

Biker AU The Introduction/Background story

22 y.o. Luka Couffaine runs his own motorbike mechanic shop. Everybody in this district of the city knows him as the leader of a motorcycle gang named: “the Pirates” (in honor of his mother who used to call herself a captain of the pirate ship). Xavier Ives Roth a.k.a. XY is a spoiled son of a gangster boss - Bob Roth. He is also the leader of the XY's - the enemy gang. Not that long ago the two motorbike gangs started a war. Without a break the XY's were fighting the Pirates for control over the territory in the city. Luka, the leader of the Pirates, hadn't started this conflict. His gang has been formed only to protect everyone from aggressive XY's delinquents who were attacking and robbing innocent people. It turned out that they were strong enough to fight them back. Their conflict escalated even more when the newcomer, Adrien, joined the Pirates…

A rich kid, Adrien Agreste, who was hidden from the outside world for 20 years. He unwillingly started studying law as his father ordered him to. Some time passed and the young man started to feel burdened with his father's pressure and his decisions about his life. He rebelled against him and ran away from home. Not knowing where to go he just kept walking ahead. He stepped on the gang's territory and he got mugged by XY's people. Luckily Luka's gang was there and came to the rescue. Adrien, seeing hopes for himself, asked their leader to join them. Luka agreed. The young rebel finally felt the freedom he desired. He met friends who warmly greeted him and accepted him into their “family”.

One month passed and the rumors finally reached Gabriel Agreste who, being afraid of his reputation, hadn't revealed to the world that his son was gone. He was afraid that Adrien's escape would throw a dark light on him and his business. Gabriel learned from rumours that Adrien may hide in the streets. That made him contact Bob Roth - the main gang boss - and paid him to find and bring his son home. Roth used his minor gang - his son's - to spread around the city's streets for the research. Any tropes were ending at Pirates' territory, where their appearance was forbidden… Wanting to earn big money from Gabriel the XY's, despite their war, carefully started to venture into Luka's area. 

And now comes Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a young woman who just a week ago rented a place for her first atelier. She hasn't expected it to be placed in the district where motorbike gangs rule. She ended up finding herself right in the middle of their conflict and finding love at the most unexpected moment. That night when she met Luka, changed everything...

the first time Kid enters his sanriohoe! girlfriend's room he definitely recoils and makes a big (fake) show of being all disgusted at the amount of stuffed animals there are everywhere. he'll make some snarky comment about how they have too many stuffed animals there and ask if they're still a child.

his sanriohoe! girlfriend just completely ignores him and goes across the room to tidy up a little, leaving Kid to stand there. he has no idea how to proceed with the room and eventually takes a small seat on the edge of the bed but the mattress is so comfy he just sinks down with him.

before meeting his girlfriend i can see Kid having a mattress that felt like a brick and was insanely stiff. it was giving him bad backaches and he was always moody because of it. so this super comfortable mattress from his girlfriend's room takes him by surprise and he just lies back on it with his head falling amongst a pile of Sanrio plushes and soft pillows.

by the time his sanriohoe! gf comes over to the bed to cuddle Kid is fast asleep and snoring quietly. upon waking up several hours later Kid is telling his girlfriend all about the spiritual awakening he had whilst he slept in their super comfy room. he was also insanely relaxed and calm for the next few days which lead the crew to think he had been replaced by a clone.

from that day onwards, Kid views the room as heavenly and sacred. it's not rare to find him inside the room working on designing new mechanic projects with his sanriohoe! girlfriend curled up next to him and a Sanrio plushie under his arm. (the plushie is of Badtz-maru and Kid calls him their son.)

yes..the star wars sequels. i didnt like them but i feel like theres a lot of potential between what they made and the things that exist in Legends

anyways like okay listen. look at me. this is mostly about Rey and Kylo Ren/Jacen Solo. other characters coming soon once i figure out what to do with them.

rey first of all. was raised by shitty but great pirate Hondo Ohnaka because i love him he found her when she was very small. that's why she has his coat. when she was about 9 when hondo was likely killed, and has been on her own doing the whole pirate/scavenger thing on some mid and outer rim planets. thats most of her backstory summed up. this post is long enough already.

she wakes up and chooses violence every day. she's not cruel, and won't attack unprovoked, but once provoked she's not quick to settle down. she doesn't act out of blind rage, but her emotions get to her sometimes. her journey is generally going from violence to choosing peace (most of the time. a little bit of violence is ok.)

she has a very strong affinity to the living force- her ability to connect with people is unmatched...when she wants to use it (which isn't often.) i think she realizes she has the force when she heals a mortal wound Finn receives (he stays nearly the same btw i like john boyega). it's kind of an "oh fuck fr?" moment between them. one of her passive abilities is to see the dead...she can see force ghost of jedi past, who are simply imprints in the force of what once was. they don't speak or do anything, really, but it freaked her out as a kid. as an adult she doesn't care much really, but tries to ignore it.

while transporting Finn and BB-8 to the rebel base as a job, they get shot down and crash land on Yavin 4, where Rey has a fucked up moment of seeing rubble with many roaming, directionless force ghosts.. who turn to face her. and they lead her in the direction of Jaina Solo's double bladed lightsaber, now overtaken by plants and roots. Rey frees it, and feels the overwhelming emotion of everyone who had trained at the Jedi Academy.. before pure silence. peace, almost. all the ghosts have vanished. (She is all the Jedi, as you may remember.)

Kylo Ren (born Jacen Solo) is NOT a neonazi this time. he doesn't genocide people and doesn't idolize Vader. he admires Anakin, but understands his faults. i'm not into this sort of like. way they excuse the very typical neonazi "broken young man" bitchy white male rage thing. irl that shit gets excused all the time and it annoyed me that they tried to forgive this nazi cunt. maybe i can make a kylo that can be enjoyable and not annoying to watch.

he and his twin sister Jaina were often left to their own devices and were usually inseparable. as they grew older and joined their Luke's Jedi Academy, they began to drift apart. Jaina's fascination with Jedi of Old who were seen as heroes for a greater part of the old republic's history conflicted with Jacen's obsession with his grandfather, Anakin. Though most know him as a jedi who fell to the dark side, Luke told Jacen how Anakin had walked the path of the light and the dark, but it corrupted him. Determined to do what his grandfather could not, Jacen decided to find balance between the dark and the light.

Luke worried for him. he didn't know how to deal with this (but didnt try and kill him lol?) and would ask jaina to keep an eye on jacen. Jacen confided in Jaina about the power he was gaining from the dark side, and out of her own fear, decided to try and strike him down. convinced Luke had manipulated her out of fear that Jacen would surpass him, he killed her and destroyed the Jedi Academy, killing nearly everyond inside, and blaming Luke for it all

He joined the Knights of Ren as a teenager, and it was kind of like a biker gang who did viglante justice (according to Kylo and his definition of "justice", which usually meant "things the jedi were too scared to do". the rest of the group thinks like Deathwatch from the Clone Wars type morals) until the First Order reaches out to them. they need people like them. the new republic was built of shaky legs and didn't stick around. the First Order would bring, well, order to the Galaxy. and Kylo Ren would be their poster boy.

He's leading Military Occupations, invasions of "insurgent systems" all while putting on a pretty smile and waving for the HoloNet. he genuinely thinks he's doing good- that he's makikg a real, better change for the galaxy, that his parents would be proud of him for using the politics and the whole "smile and wave" regality he learned from his mother. He's beloved by many despite the destruction he's caused. kind of like justin trudeau. sorry that's the best analogy i can come up with.

Rey and Kylo are eachother's foil. a no-bullshit type learning to choose the lives of others over her own and learning empathy, and a misguided fool who thinks he's choosing the greater good who must learn to listen to other's needs and stop being arrogant.

Van der Linde Modern AU Costumes

So I feel like any Halloween event with the Van der Linde gang would be chaotic. People trying to make plans for costumes only for it to fail or people saying “I wanted to be that costume!” Hence why there are so many back up plans and almosts. lol

Arthur Morgan – He originally was going to be a lumberjack – He heard John talking about it, and quickly claimed it so John couldn’t have it. The gang felt he should have dressed as a Viking.

Charles –A pirate. He originally wanted to grab Arthur and John and be the ghostbusters, but they forget. He was kind of bummed. He found a white shirt, some dark pants and a few odds and ends. Why not be comfortable? He found a jacket to go with it. 

Javier – a vampire, but a modern one like maybe the Lost Boys or something similar. He has yellow contacts and fangs.Does his own hair so he doesn’t have to be blonde.

John Marston – He does NOT want to dress up. If he has too, he’d be either a biker or Daryl Dixon. Daryl because Jack loves him and John really wants Jack to think he’s cool. Either way, he looks basically no different from what he wears every day. He just gets a fake cross bow and goes. (Lame inside joke because Norman Reedus is one of my face claims for John).

Abigail Marston – She felt a little shy about dressing up, but she had a pretty red and black jacket, she decided to add a gold trim and be circus ringleader. Part of her wanted to be Little Red Riding Hood and have John be the wolf man, but he stopped that real fast.

Jack  - Spiderman, complete with web shooters.

Amelia - Marston Daughter – a ladybug because John said “Because we’re so lucky to have her”. Aweee

Rufus – He was dressed up as a slice of pizza because he likes to steal pizza slices. The costume didn’t stay on for very long.

Hosea – Tim Curry’s Butler from Clue. (I admit I’m watching it right now and I’m obsessed with Tim Curry, but Hosea would love to troll everyone like that.) The gang thought he was Alfred Pennyworth the whole time.

Dutch –  Gomez Adams. He originally wanted Dracula, but was jealous Javier was going to be a vampire. When he saw Javier was going to be a modern vampire, he showed up as Gomez and then quickly shifted his costume to fit Dracula.

Molly – Morticia Adams, but she refused to wear the wig. When Dutch changed his costume, she just shrugged and laughed saying she was now one of Dracula’s Brides.

Tilly Jackson –  a gorgeous silver flapper outfit with a head piece, cigarette holder and heels. She added extra beads to the dress to make it really pop. She received tons of compliments and was encouraged to open an etsy shop as her side gig.

Karen – Harley Quinn – Suicide Squad version.  Sean wanted her to be a sexy maid.

Sean – He wanted to be the Joker, but couldn’t get the make up right. He dressed up Deadpool instead.  Arthur just rolled his eyes as Sean couldn’t quit shouting loud jokes.

Lenny – Michael Jackson’s Thriller costume complete with dance. Bill, Sean and Javier join in, but only Javier is able to get the dance right. Bill is surprisingly okay and Sean just...failed. Prince was his second choice.

Mary-Beth – Nancy Drew, but as Nancy in the books. She uses a 1960’s outfit for this. She originally wanted Charles’ angels with Tilly and Karen, but they already had costumes planned.

Micah – Last year, he was Joe Exotic. It didn’t take that long to pull off the look. This year he’s Kid Rock. Still didn’t take long for him to pull off the look. 

Bill – a scarecrow -  he already has plaid, get a mask and he’s good to go. He is NOT allowed to wear the mask around Jack or Amelia.

Mr. Pearson -Also a pirate, He was more of the “jolly pirate” from the original Disney ride where as Charles looks like a gorgeous 19th century pirate with his coat.

Miss Grimshaw -A nun. She finds the irony hilarious.

Kieran: He overheard Charles’ plans to dress up as the ghost busters and tries to surprise them by dressing up as one of them. He’s the only one dressed up :(

Josiah Trelawny - Sherlock Holmes. He loves to “find” leads and find trouble. He liked the Benedict Cumberbatch version, too, but he didn’t think anyone would get the costume if he went that route 

Reverend Swanson - A knight! He finds their history interesting if not controversial and their presence in fairy tales reminds him of the good parts of his childhood. 

Leopold Strauss - He does not dress up.

Westember The Adventures of Brisco County Jr

This Westember review is going to be diffrent from my others cause....Well this is a whole TV show ,that I have been watching all through the month . Brisco County Jr is a cult classic TV show from 1993-1994 ,that sadly lasted only one season of 27 episodes

Premise: After the death of his father Brisco County (R Lee Ermy) ,bounty hunter Brisco County Jr (Bruce Campbell) is appointed by Robber Barons to hunt down John Bly (Billy Drago ) and his henchmen,the men responsible for killing his father . Brisco discovers John Bly is after a mysterious object known as the orb which has vague powers .Along the way Brisco is joined by rival bounty hunter Lord Bowler (Julius Carry ) and lawyer Socrates Poole (Christian Clemenson ) ,as well as other colorful characters as he takes on new bad guys each week

So I like the show ,its a solid show that part of me is very sad it didnt last longer....But I'd be lying if I said I dont understand why it was cancelled ,cause this show is designed to be a cult favorite .The show is primarily a western ,the show is hodge podge of diffrent genres ,notably Sci Fi and comedy ....And I am just gonna say it,the sci fi elements are kind of weak,they dont go far enough with them . The main Sci Fi element is the Orb ,and it is infuriatingly vague what this thing is ,just that the bad guy wants it and it gives ya powers ,but not always .It is a total Mcguffin.....Thing is the writers knew this and this is written out before the finale,and constantly joke about the orb .In fact the sci fi stuff is pretty much phased out before the end

Where the show shines is the comedy .Now humor is subjective ,but for me the humor works . The show takes place in the 1890's but is intentionally anachronistic ,leading to some out there insanity : This can be minor jokes (My favorite being a young kid named Duncan who invents these things called Doughnuts ) to biker gangs,Elvis's ancestor and LAND PIRATES .ITs a very out there show and that is part of the appeal

The show is really inspired by old school film serials so its full of some pretty great action and exciting cliff hangers before commercial breaks

The characters are my favorite part of the show :

Brisco is played by legendery cult movie icon ,Bruce Campbell,in probably one of his best roles ,as a intelligent lawyer turned bounty hunter,focused on the "coming thing" as the world is changing and he feels something special is coming round the corner

My favorite character is Lord Bowler played by the late Julius Carry , a rival bounty hunter,who by the end of the show is Brisco's best friend and companion (Which came about as the writers noticed the real friendship between Campbell and Julius Carry ), he is both tough and hilarious ,but the moments I love are where he shows his softer side (My two favorite scenes in the show are both Bowler Moments ,one from the Orb Scholar and another from the finale High Treason )

Socrates ,played brillaintly by Christain Clemonson,is the exposition man and a source of comic relief,as he is a high strung contrast to our rough heroes

Recurring characters include Kelley Rutherford as Briscos primary love interest Dixie Cousins(Who was supposed to be a one off character but Rutherfords chemistry with Campbell was so on point they kept bringing her back ) , the legendary John Astin as the wacky inventor Professor Wickwire ,John Pyper Ferguson as incompetent criminal Pete Hutter who is the shows funniest character (And Pyper-Ferguson's performance was so good they brought him back after KILLING him in the pilot and making him surviving improbable circumstances a running gag ) and Jeff Phillips as hot shot Whip Morgan (Who of the main cast is my least favorite ,but I feel he had potential )

The main villain of the show is John Bly played by the late Billy Drago ,a gang leader who acts like a cult leader.....Who is one of the best villains I have seen on TV .This guy is CREEPY and any time he shows up its an event (Lot of my favorite episodes have him )

Show is chock full of great guest stars (Favorites being Denise Crosby as a sheriff ,David Warner as an assassin , Tony Jay as a judge,Xander Berkley as a gambler,and Andrew Divoff as a pirate ) ,most of them character actors (Robert Picardoas a henchman ,Jason Marsden as a kidnapped kid ,and John P Ryan as an old friend of Brisco's father ) .....However there are two oddball ones:Football player Terry Bradshaw as a villainous military man in the finale and Timothy Leary ,a psychologist known for his advocacy of psychedelics as a stage coach passenger .They both do good performances but its very odd to see them in this show

OVerall I personally love this show,it is a fun western romp ,but it might have been too out there for audiences at the time . If you want a enjoyable western adventure ,with great characters I highly reccomend it

Random Personal Ego Head Canons Part 4

~ When the Jims aren’t on the hunt for demons, they LOVE playing board games and they always manage to rope in at least one other ego to play with them. Though, if they lose, they will probably think the other ego is a demon for like a week.

~ For a while now Henrik has been studying Wilford’s brain activity in order to understand how he works. He hasn’t gotten very far. But if he has to listen to Wilford sing “this is the song that never ends” in his head one more time, he may just become even madder than he already is.

~ Actor Mark lovessss being pampered, praised, and doted upon. Whether that means going to a spa, getting a mani-pedi, or just paying an ego to shower him in compliments--- it’s one of his ultimate weaknesses. Flattery will get you EVERYWHERE with this man.

~ Illinois sleeps most comfortably in uncomfy places. Since he’s almost always out on an adventure, he may sleep against an unsturdy boulder, in a bat infested cave, or in a hammock suspended over a cliff. Point is: he lives for danger, so he may as well sleep for it too.

~ JJ often volunteers at his local library. He enjoys putting the books in their rightful place. He loves how quiet it is and the whisper policy. And when someone needs help, he can easily do it without needing to talk! Not to mention how there is a monthly puppet show for the kids that he is a part of.

~ Chase is either an insomniac or a hypersomniac---there is no in between. He goes through bouts of both at different times, it depends on how he’s doing mentally/emotionally and how that manifests in his psyche.

~ Derek is not allowed within the Iplier Manor. While Dark does typically invite most egos to live there, Derek is an abusive piece of shit and doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near Eric or any other ego he could potentially abuse. Sorry not sorry, we do not stan Derek here.

~ Sometimes Marvin loses control of his powers. He tries his best not to let it get out of hand too often, but sometimes he just can’t help it. He doesn’t always have the best grasp on them and he’s a lot more powerful than most of the egos know cause of how much he tries to keep things in check. His power is definitely a point of pride of his but he will never let on just how much he still doesn’t know about his magic. 

~  Yancy is a really great pool player. While he enjoys playing poker in prison, pool is one of the games he always misses most when he’s not free. So whenever he comes back to the manor after a long stay in Happy Trails Penitentiary, it’s best to expect a huge pool match to go on between all the egos. Yancy almost always wins.

~ Thanks to Bing’s excellent technological structure, whenever he’s out doing sickkkkk skateboarding tricks and falls, he doesn’t bruise or appear hurt. He can also turn his pain sensors on or off. Sometimes he leaves it on, though, during his tricks just so he can see how much he can take. Masochism---a curse by which all the Ipliers fall.

~ Dark, just like anyone else, gets stressed out. Considering how much responsibility is on his shoulders, it makes sense. He’s the unofficial leader of the Ipliers and that is no small task. Add on the fact that he is always at war with Actor Mark, even if it’s only on the down low. It’s a lot to ask of someone, even if that someone isn’t completely human--things aren’t always as they appear.

~ Magnum and Yancy made their own biker gang called the “Cell Matey’s”. Basically all they do is ride their motorcycles around on random nights outside the manor, waking up the whole house while trying their best to avoid running over Eric’s flower garden. Yancy’s got a classic red 1950′s greaser motorcycle and Magnum has an epic HONKIN’ HUGE wood textured chopper with a pirate flag hanging off the end.
