Just complaining about health stuff

So: Last Monday night my chest and pulse were both doing weird simultaneous things, so I went to the ER. After ekgs and blood tests and a CT scan they decided my heart was fine and I did not have any blood clots.

They did, however, say I had pneumonia. Which even the ER doc seemed confused by, since I had not had a fever and my lungs had been okay until actually after I arrived at the hospital, when they started feeling tight. They gave me some doxycycline, and when I said um I’m not sure I buy it’s pneumonia, a referral for a pulmonologist.

Because, see, the last time I had an ER Dr tell me I had pneumonia I was in the hospital for a week only to two month later have a lymphoma specialist take one look at my scan from the ER and say “oh that’s not pneumonia, that’s bleo (one of the chemotherapy drugs I was on) damage.” So I don’t really trust non-specialists to have any clue about my lung damage.

Since then, I’ve been up and down. A day later I had the cold my kid had had the weekend before. The weird thing that sent to the ER in the first place has come back every now and then, randomly. And my lungs have been fine half the time and Bad half the time. I’m used to having bad lung days now and then but tonight for example it’s worse than usual. They feel tight no matter what I do, and I’m intermittently dizzy like I’m not breathing enough despite my blood oxygen level being 98-100.

So I’d been looking forward to seeing the pulmonologist on Friday to find out a) if it’s actually random freak pneumonia (I’ve been taking the doxy just in case and b) if it’s not, is it my same old lung damage or something new, possibly as a result of covid this summer.

Unfortunately, in order to determine b they will need my last set of scans, from like a decade ago in Chicago. And they have no way to receive these scans electronically. (Today I spent most of my energy in the phone with them until they understood that no, I don’t mean the scans from last week in the hospital down the street and no, the fax number is not useful because you can’t fax radiological scans!) So they will have to be snail-mailed. So I had to reschedule my appt for the 28th because there is no way the scans will be there by Friday.

So I am very unhappy because I do not really want my lungs to keep this up for another two weeks. I was really looking forward to getting some answers on Friday.

Like I said, I have been up and down. Tonight my lungs are the worst they’ve been in a while so I don’t think they’ll be this bad for two straight weeks. They’ll likely be fine 75% of the time. But I do not like them being this bad at all.

Let's be honest here, Disney isn't helping themselves by cancelling a show at its peak just because of "creative differences". They cancelled a shows that was raking in audiences and money, they just lost a golden ticket basically...

Disney has made good and bad choices before, but this was probably it's worst so far. Dana wanted so much more! She and the team had so much more ideas to add and offer, all our questions were going to be answered. I believe that they had plans to explore more on each characters lore, they were gonna show about Caleb and his backstory, Alador and Darius, the past golden guards..... But of course it got cancelled, right when it was at its peak.

Somehow, when Titan Luz screamed "Now Eat This SUCKAAAHH!!" at Bleos while riping him apart, I can't help but feel like it was directed at Disney... They had to fight in order to air and even work on three more episodes!! 3 episodes that they worked so hard on, to fill with as much information and easter eggs as much as possible. They poured their heart out on these episodes.

I hope the next time, Dana and her team gets to have what they did not here, because what they did was amazing and simply groundbreaking.
