okay okay queerness in the get down let's fuckn goooo

disclaimer: I havent watched this show in full for like 5 months at least, probably gonna get something wrong and/or forget some more important bits. also this wasnt proof read I just word vomited

tws: period typical homophobia, abuse mention, f slur use, bury your gays trope, overdose mention, mention of a creepy possible age gap (the age gap hasnt been confirmed so that's why its possible), cops

going from least to most prominent queer characters, let's start with mylene cruz!

so, from the beginning of this show she has an established romantic relationship with ezekiel (although the status of their actual relationship changes frequently throughout the show) and though this was a relationship she was hesitant to pursue, it is clear that she does have romantic feelings for him and if not for them both having growing careers in very different music genres (zeke specifically working in a genre that she repeatedly labels as bad because she thinks they're ruining records + that it isnt real music because they're using someone elses piece and rapping over it, that's not really important here tho lol) they probably wouldve had a much healthier, smooth sailing romance. that being said theres a few things that happen in the show that, while not explicitly clear, or even really good coding at that—to the point where you wont catch if you really arent looking for it (and trust me, I always look for coding, hers was just so little that it flew over my head until I saw someone else mention it)—are still cool to think about!

so, for starters, I wanna mention the toy box performance, which was performed by mylene and regina, who are best friends. that's all cool and shit, and you dont really think much about it...until you hear about the fact that the show runners purposely colored a lot of the scenes in that performance with the bi colors. like. the writers after the show ended basically said "oh yeah there was plans to make her coding more explicit, but our shit got cancelled soooo" and then dropped the fact that she was gonna be bi (or at least implies bi) in the series, which puts a new twist on a few things.

now, besides the bi coloring in the background of the toy box performance (which was mostly on scenes with her and regina, which involved a lot of uh,, lowkey lewd dancing. with each other. in very revealing outfits. wooooo), there's her music! I dont tend to read too much into this one bc, like I said before, her coding is fucking light and the writers themselves said they didnt really get to do much with it, but I think some stuff with her music is interesting. specifically how her, yolanda and regina's song set me free blew up because dizzee, resident (lowkey enby coded) bicon, got their song played in a queer club. also that the song was majorly important to dizzee and started playing literally right as he kissed a boy for the first time and realized "oh shit I like boys that's bonkers". also that the song can be taken in a gay way since literally the entire thing is about becoming your true self, fully and unapologetically, which is what both dizzee and mylene's entire character arcs are about. dizzee (and a lot of other queer people, apparently), heard this song about being set free and it resonated with them so much that they got that shit most of its popularity.

speaking of dizzee and mylene, they parallel each other a lot in the way that their arcs are about them realizing who they are, coming into themselves and no longer just letting people treat them like shit in a sense (dizzee starting to tell people essentially that they can call him weird all they want, they can make fun of how he acts, what he likes, how he dresses, etc. but he likes how he is and quite literally saying "it's okay to be an alien" as he has consistently compared himself to one throughout the show vs mylene learning that if she wants to be a disco singer she needs to put her foot down, not let anyone, not even the love of her life, not even her abusive father, stop her from achieving her dreams, etc. and continuing to pursue her career with or without their support). one more little parallel that I think is interesting is during I think s2 towards the end of the show is when dizzee and thor are shown together having fun with each other, painting all over the building and each other and are basically just being happy and in love together and then they have these clips of them being interspersed with clips of mylene at a party where she is starting to realize that if she wants to get anywhere she needs to be her own main priority and that she needs to put her career and her dream, which is what makes her the happiest, above all else if she wants to succeed. idk I just think how the show made these two into a weird parallel, accidental or not, is neat. maybe not an explicitly queer parallel, but I think at least how her music and whatnot helped dizzee, the main queer character in this show, blossom, is important.

moving on we got shaolin fantastic also known as "oh no your internalized homophobia is showing-"

so, heres a quick list of...interesting shao facts:

Consistently referred to as fag/faggot (shaolin fanfaggot is my personal favorite); he gets really defensive about this despite nobody actually thinking he's queer, it's just people being assholes to be assholes, and he is the only character consistently referred to using a slur, especially a homophobic one, especially for a "straight" character. dizzee, a canonically queer character, is called a fag less than shaolin is even though dizzee actively goes to gay clubs, has a not so secret dude he "hangs out with" and wont let anyone properly meet, paints his nails, wears less than straight clothes even by the 70s standards and is just all around the definition of fucking queer (and I mean like in the weird way, not the gay way). in fact theres only like once I can remember him being called a fag and it had nothing to do with him actually being gay it was literally just like thrown out there the same way you would call someone a bitch.

Has only shown sexual interest in women, yet refuses to have deeper relationships with women in general (possibly because of trauma but who knows) but takes his relationships with his "brothers", specifically zeke, very seriously

Tells zeke and zeke ONLY his real name when zeke was planning to stop being his friend bc shao more or less got boo boo, a like 14 year old black kid, arrested for selling hard drugs; he was clearly scared and trying to do anything to keep zeke around, literally chasing him down the street and hounding him until he got zeke to stop and argue with him

Kept threatening to beat up zeke in the end but couldn't actually bring himself to do so, instead saying that zeke is "fucking lucky" before walking away

Let's zeke get away with things that nobody else can, in general just has a weird soft spot for ezekiel that he shows with nobody else

when shao found dizzee with thor in a vaguely compromising situation (like they were just shirtless covered in paint sleeping next to each other but shao had also seen everything they painted on the walls ((which some of it was sus)), it was clear they had painted on each others bodies and dizzee had been routinely disappearing with this guy for weeks now yet not producing nearly as much art, at least, as far as we audience members know) he didnt judge him but instead, waited for him to get cleaned up and then told him something along the lines of "theres a reason why im so secretive blah blah blah [not everyone needs to know everything about me]", which, in context, kinda implies that he might be a lil. a lil homiesexual. jus a lil.

whenever even the possibility of zeke leaving him comes up he absolutely loses it. he has literally cost ezekiel life changing opportunities because he thought zeke would just up and leave him for them. this could be abandonment issues bc he's a severely traumatized character, and that probably does contribute to it, but it also is just not a reaction he has to any of their other friends just randomly dipping in and out of his life soooooo

generally speaking, this mfer has got either bisexual with a big hard on for zeke coding or homosexual with terrible internalized homophobia and still a hard on for zeke coding. either fucking way, that nigga gay. he gay as hell. gay as fuck man. there wasn't really much to analyze here tbh bc the coding is just so fucking obvious if you look for it or you are/have been a gay person who's dealt with at least a little bit of internalized homophobia.

also, just a sidenote, idk how fucking old shao, but I'm praying hes like at max 19 bc I'm pretty sure zeke is a minor in this show and shao definetly is not so the whole him being heavily implied to have a crush on ezekiel thing is kinda. oof. not oof if zeke is like 17 but any younger than that? OOF.

edit: apparently the characters are only supposed to be a year apart in age but i had no clue about that before writing this post and since shaos age was never actually stated in the show i naturally assumed he was an adult since his actor Looks Like An Adult. this is definetly on me to a certain extent, but i also never saw anything about this when trying to find our their ages so 🤷‍♀️ maybe i just didnt look deep enough, sorry!

now moving on to the main event...marcus dizzee kipling :]

so, first things first, let's talk enby coding bc him being bisexual was already confirmed!

um, to start off, I just wanna say I dont think this enby coding was intentional or even really coding, it's just moreso me being a dizzee kin on main and knowing as a transmasc enby he has very transmasc enby vibes. for example:

cool, gender neutral nickname that everyone calls him

paints nails various different colors

the whole wardrobe is just a transmasc enby heaven...fishnet shirts, jean overalls, jackets and cuffed pants galore, the big colorful pins, etc

gender neutral hairstyle (when I had my fro it was very sexy and made it easy to transition between hyper masc and vaguely fem, which is pog)

comparing himself to/representing himself consistently with an alien character (though this is meant to represent his sexuality, it could also double as a gender thing too, not neccesarily bc of the whole nonbinary alien trope but bc an enby who likes aliens might heavily identify or compare themselves to whatever their idea of an alien is, whether that just be a genderless entity or a motherfucker with fly style and no need to be perceived as anything other Wacky As Hell)

moving on from there, let's talk about how his queerness is presented to us and how, while it may be a really good piece of representation, especially coming from netflix, it still lacks in A Lot of places.

so, let's start with good things!

i personally really like the get down's queer rep with dizzee bc it's (for the most part) nonsexualized and very very soft, about dizzee figuring himself out and realizing there is a place where he fits in, and about two teenagers in the 70s falling in love over their shared passion for street art. it also features an interracial couple where both boys challenge stereotypes both about queer men and men of color, which is epic poggers and very sexy. this piece of rep specifically is very important to me bc I am a queer black person and even tho interracial relationships are mostly normalized now, I've still had people give me shit for primarily dating white people in a town that is...primarily white lol

mm anyways, I can also appreciate how in the get down, dizzee being represented by rumi the alien is not a thing specifically related to gender (as it often is) and instead is about his sexuality and just in general weirdness and how it has led to him being alienated amongst his peers, poc or otherwise. him seeing himself as an alien is not about just his queerness, which is important, it is about him being a queer black man who talks different, acts different, dresses different and is "soft"—he isnt a walking black male stereotype and he wouldnt have been seen as masculine back in the 70s by any stretch of the imagination. this can be relatable to a wide spectrum of queer poc, from queer black men currently who still have to deal with this shit or to people like myself who are afab neurodivergent mixed race enbies that have always been signaled out as weird and alienated for it. dizzee is god rep bc while he has a small part in this show, his parts are very impactful, hard hitting and show queer poc of all ages that they arent alone and that it's okay to "weird", you just need to embrace it because somebody will love you for you, as thor did for dizzee.

that being said theres um. some minor problemas here,,,

namely:

dizzee and thors first kiss

the lack of development this pairing got

the way dizzee was confirmed bisexual off screen, he never said the words himself, just showed interest in both genders

the way dizzee and thor were never even confirmed boyfriends or just fwb so most of the fandom just calls them boyfriends bc Why Not

dizzee was implied fucking DEAD??? AT THE END OF THE SERIES?????? AND THOR WAS IMPLIED ARRESTED?????????????

now, these might have been things that wouldve been fine had the show been given it's full run but it wasnt which is why we are now left with probelms.

so, from the top, let's go over these: dizzee and thor's first (and only "on screen") kiss was one that was shown in a montage of other queer people making over and doing other vaguely romantic/sexual things, one of those things being a whole ass naked titty being mouthed at, but the actual kiss...was just not shown? like they really did just say "yes they kissed <3 you know this from the context clues of it being in a montage with kissing, hickey giving and titty sucking <3 but no we will not show it <3" LIKE HELLO? I SAW A NAKED BOOBIE BUT NOT TWO MEN KISS??? HUH????????

also, dizzee and thor were both fucking high as hell during this bit like this isnt a terrible thing but it's also like sometimes you do shit when you're high that you wouldnt do sober and they just never kissed again on screen so like?? like idk that's not that bad but it does kinda irk me since they deadass got no other on screen intimacy after that unless you including painting on eacher other or sleeping next to each other on a shitty mattress but not touching at all during it bc they were both at opposite ends of the mattress like half way off it

so yeah, that was trash. then we got lack of development, which kinda goes with the "dizzee being a bisexual but he never says it in canon" thing cause like...okay dizzee was already sort of a side character from the get go like he wasnt the mc by any means, but he became way more of a background character as things continued until we basically only saw him for performances or when he was with thor, yet they got no fucking development as a pairing other than "dizzee realize he gay, he like thor, he and thor spend time together and ig probably do some gay stuff but we dont really know bc we only ever see them do graffiti together now" like?? tf am I supposed to do with that shit. answer. quickly. and then theres dizzee not being confirmed bisexual, which is just a running problem with shows literally doing everything to say a character is bi except for having the character just...say they're bi? which would be so easy? like a good way dizzee and thor couldve had some development is by thor teaching dizzee things about the queer community that he didnt even know existed, thor couldve helped him understand what being bi meant and helped him label himself and whatnot but instead we got an off screen confirmation that the writers had bisexual in mind when writing him. which is garbagé.

the whole thor and dizzee never having a confirmed relationship status is also a development problem cause like literally nobody knows if they were just friends who made out, maybe fucked, who knows, or if they were dating bc dizzee does give a love confession but a love confession doesn't mean there is a relationship, especially since thor didn't say he was in love either (as far as I remember, I could be wrong, plus whether or not that really happened or was apart of dizzee literally overdosing during a performance is unclear so 🤪)

and now for the biggest issue...bury your gays trope.

during the season 2 finale, dizzee and thor are chased by cops after they are found doing graffiti, one of the cops is able to catch thor while the other chases dizzee into a train tunnel and there is a train seen headed straight for him before the show cuts to black on a train horn. the show writers claim that if they had gotten another season, dizzee wouldve been alive but since they didnt and since that's essentially super fan trivia knowledge, most people dont fucking know that and instead had to watch a black queer teenager chose death over being fucking arrested by a white cop. on top of that, thor didnt see any of that shit because he was caught and the cop started hauling him off while dizzee was still being chased so thor literally has no clue where his friend/possible boyfriend fucking is or that he's likely dead in a goddamn tunnel all alone, unless you count the fucking pig that chased him in there who wouldve died too. this shows rep was so fucking good as far as most shows go on not having major fucking problems, on not being toxic and over sexualized, etc, etc. and then they just. killed a black queer teenager for no fucking reason. like it was literally the last episode ever, it would add nothing to the plot, it would just devastate fans and devastate it fucking did. I dont cry easy but seeing a character I identified with, who I had hyperfixated on, die because he'd rather that than be arrested is terrible. it fucking sucked.

so yeah. that's my all too extensive thoughts/analysis on the get down's queerness. theres definitely stuff I missed, or misinterpreted, or looked too much into, etc, etc., but this was a fun thing to spend time writing sooo yeah!! thanks for the ask anon, sorry this was just a big rambley info dump, but hopefully you get some enjoyment out of it since it took like 3 hours at least 😭😭 feel free to ask clarifying questions lol

Life After Snowpiercer: First Order of Business

Summary- 6.6k Curtis x Y/N. Dealing with the captured front enders, it's time for Curtis to make a choice in how to combine the people. You begin helping the Doctor, and discuss what options are available to you. Warnings- Mentions of death, assault, rape, abortion.

Chapter 9 / Masterlist

“Okay, explain it to me.” Curtis had his arms folded over his chest and a brow raised, trying to make sense with what the trains engineer was saying. The engineer opened his mouth to start again. “There is a battery that's been charging on the train, as the train moved it built up a charge and was stored. It's been going... what 17 years now?” The engineer shrugged his answer. “I can't begin to tell you how long it will last, but Im gonna guess a damn long while.”

“Why? Why would Wilford have a back up plan built on the train?” John asked from nearby, Curtis waiting on an answer. The engineer turned his gaze away from the imposing man in front of him to the other.

“Cause if the train ever had to stop Wilford needed a way to keep things going. There was emergency switches to turn off certain sections from receiving power and water, make it last longer. So you get to that box, and you can still control that.”

“Where is that?” Curtis questioned, thinking of all the times Wilford could have just cut the power on them. In fact he probably had a few times, recalling the blackouts in the tail end. If the train ever stopped, they would have been dead in days, frozen and starvation, dehydration. They would have just cut the tail end off and continued. “Your going to show John and cut off any cars still attached that were not currently using.” He instructed, and as they left, Curtis turned to the rest of the front enders waiting for his next move.

So far going through the surviving front enders was a bit tedious and Curtis could feel a headache coming on, a press of his fingers to the bridge of his nose did little to help his headache behind his eyes. He had been interviewing them all night, with questions like “What did you do before the crash, what skills can you provide.” General questions to how they could help the survivors, gauge where their loyalties lay. John and Johanna joined him in this, a sharp nod or shake no as to what they thought of the individual.

So far most seemed generally harmless. Scared, wide eyed, just looking for someone to tell them what to do. Curtis was pleased to find that it wasn't just the 'high class' front enders he had here for the most part. No, he actually got lucky enough to find some that had skills. People who knew how to work the plants in the greenhouse, some that cared for the animals that had actually survived, that in itself was a blessing Curtis never even suspected would have actually survived the derail.

A Doctor was next, a medical professional in the train that survived, and once he stepped forward for his questioning and revealed what he did, Curtis sighed internally with relief. “Doctor you say... good, we have immediate need for you right now.” He stated, turning to Edgar instructing him to bring the doctor to the injured when Dr.Price pulled up short. “Im not going anywhere with you.”

This set Curtis off, quick to cross the small space between him and the doctor, his eyes snapping at the man. “You will do as we say. We have a people in the medical rooms all needing attention now. We never had a doctor to care for us. The Nurses we did have no equipment to try and keep us alive. Wilford shot them both.” Curtis all but snarled out, his hand coming out to fist in the doctors shirt pulling him close, face to face. “Leaving behind there untrained daughter to keep us alive. So when I say go help the people in the medical car... I wasn't asking you, I was telling you Dr. to go treat the remaining people.”

Dr.Pierce’s eyes widened and he shook his head, not fighting Curtis, but still not willing to make the effort to follow through with his commands. “Listen, we have plenty of wounded as well, who Im currently helping.” Curtis looked over his shoulder at the frightened people cowering, just as they used to do in the tail end. Yes, these people weren’t filthy in the way they were, but the same fear rolled through the crowd, the same defiant eyes hating him just as he had hated Wilford. He loosened his grip and stepped back from the Doctor. Was he being no better then WIlford right now?

It wasn't easy to trust any of them with the remaining people, but they were now in his charge as well, this wasn't what he was supposed to be, another Wilford. Curtis set out to set the tail end free, not cage the front end. “How many are wounded?”

The Doctor was quick with his response. “There’s two with some serious injuries and minor stuff. I'm okay with helping those in the medical car, it's an oath I took before we lived like this. But I'm not abandoning them either.” Curtis looked over his shoulder, motioning for Johanna to join him.

“Get some people to move the injured into the medical area, along with anyone else Dr...?” Curtis arched a brow and Pierce filled in the question. “Pierce says need to go with him. Then ask everyone to meet me outside where camps set up.” They nodded and Johanna went to get a couple more people to help with the severely injured, another splitting off to help Dr.Pierce prepare the patients. Curtis turned away from the rest of the group, stepping out of the cart, leaving the rest behind for now. The sun just started to come up, and stretch it's light in haze's of pink and oranges across the sky, lighting up the sky. Would he ever get tired of this sight? No.

“What are you thinking Curtis?” Edgar came up next to him, the younger man was surveying the camps set up around the train, a bit anxious at what Curtis was possibly considering.

“We can't just keep them locked up Edgar... I’m going to talk to everyone at once, we have to give them a chance right? Fucking hell if I know, but you saw them. There's hardly any fight there at all. They are just as blindsided as the rest of us.”

Edgar didn't seem to fully support what Curtis was saying, his hand coming up to the back of his neck and rubbing at it, wincing from the pain in his back, it was hard to forget it was the front enders that had tried to kill him, another part of his mind that it was Curtis who turned away to continue forward. “They are from the front end, you saw what happened when Matt put some rifles in their hands Curtis. They were ready to kill us.”

“Its not like we came up with fucking picnic baskets wanting to be friends Edgar. They were just as scared we were going to attack as we were. Go let people know.” Curtis shut down the conversation for now, nodding to the man guarding the door as he swung down the train. Edgar did as he was asked, going to gather people up from the camp. Curtis went to go see where you were, and then meet up with everyone. Things we're going to be changing again. He prayed for the better.

You woke with a start, shooting straight up in bed to the barely there light streaming through the window behind your head. A glance around the small room let you know you were alone, and you twisted yourself to sit up. Already you felt better then you had yesterday, and curious as to where Curtis was, you started pulling clothes on, the last was his beanie he must have forgotten. Stuffing that on your head as well, planning on bringing it to him. Making your way out, you caught sight of Yona up ahead, the teenager picking her way towards you with a smile. “Curtis is coming up to get us.”

You hadn't really gotten to know the girl yet, but her eyes and smile were warm, and from the bit Curtis told you, he highly valued her opinion. Smiling at her in greeting “well then, let's go see what he wants, shall we?” the two of you heading off together, and once out of the sleeping section the train hollowed out for more people to be gathered. You found Curtis talking to individuals in passing. A wave of your hand caught his attention, and he finished up a conversation he was having and met you halfway. “I was just coming to find you.”

“Oh Yona said you already were... ?” You questioned with a look to the girl, who just smiled knowingly and gave a shrug.

“I’m gathering people outside... “ Hearing that Yona took her leave to go with the others. And Curtis led you away from prying ears. “The prisoners, you were right.They are just looking for someone to tell them what to do. I'm not going to hold them hostage, would make us no better then Wilford. I will make the consequences clear and any will be free to try there luck out on the ice.” You nodded slightly, looking up at him. You could see the worry in his eyes, the way it lined his features. Hard set in stone resolve, that stiffened his back. You pressed your hand against his clenched tension filled fist, and worked your fingers to weave with his. His hand finally released and relaxed in yours.

“Were not like Wilford, and we won't ever be that way.” Your hand squeezed in support and he visibly relaxed, some of the tension easing from his features. He had your support, it was all he needed. Reaching up to yank off his beanie from your head, you let his hand go with your other and leaned up to tip toes to put it on his head, giving him a peck on his lips. “Your a better man then Wilford ever was, we will get through this.”

Curtis gaze softened as he reached up to readjust his beanie, and dropping to run his fingers along your cheek. “You seem pretty sure of me Babygirl.”

“Of course I am Handsome, come on.”

Together you two went out to where everyone was gathered now, waiting to see what was next. Was it good news? Bad? It had them all on edge, unsure of what to expect anymore. Your hand rest against his back, and Curtis looked over familiar faces and unfamiliar ones.

“So you all know we have a car full of people, from the front end. Workers mostly, they tended to the people in the front, maintenance and such. We can't just keep them locked up, and forgotten. So those that want to stay with us can, they will help rebuild.” Even as Curtis got the words out, there was resistance, protests being thrown out. “What they ever do for us?” “Left us in the tail end to rot.” “say we just get rid of them.” Curtis’s brow furrowed and he shouted out “Enough! Does anyone have anything beneficial to say or is it how they were just from the front end and we should kill them?”

There was a sort of hush, then someone did step forward, a man you didn't recognize and suspected he was from another car. “Say we let them disperse amongst us back end people. Who's to say were not in danger from them? You going to excuse them or let us actually defend ourselves? They did just try to kill us yesterday.” You resisted the urge to roll your eyes but Curtis remained calm.

“They were following Matts orders and were afraid for there lives. Would any of you had reacted any different if roles were reversed?” He pointedly stopped and waited before continuing. “Were not going to tolerate any danger to ourselves... Or them, should anyone of us survivors kill one another, they are done. We're all that's left. There's no tolerance for murders, rapists or thieves.”

“And who decides? You? Are you taking over as 'Leader'?”

Curtis shook his head. “No, Im not labeling myself as leader, in fact I have given some thought, and a Leader just is like when Wilford ran the train.” You were curious, having not heard anything further on how they would proceed forward. “And if you all agree, along with the others, we will make a council. Someone from all the sections left.” Your hand rubbed assuring against his back, and there was a visual shift in the crowd, some who agreed, and some who didn’t. The rise in vocal yays and nays started to pick up, and somewhere in the back a argument broke out.

Edgar cussed out loud as he pushed through the group to reach where people started getting a bit physical, and Curtis hopped down to help break it up. You shared a look with Johanna who was next to you, and you decided enough was enough. “HEY!” you shouted in a sharp demand, and everyone stopped, looking up at you in surprise. “Cut the crap, alright? None of you can see the benefits of what Curtis is saying. Those people, y'all hate so much can keep us the fuck alive.” They looked doubtful, arms crossing over chests in defiance. “Can any of you properly grow food in a enclosed ecosystem, understand how this train works. Any of you know why the train is still running electricity or water? Fix up our people with actual medicine? Cause I sure as hell don’t. Hmm? Who knows what else. We're guessing here people, all of it. We've been stuck for the past 17 years scraping to just survive. How about we expand from that and start fucking living.” Johanna and John both came up side you for show of support.

“Curtis already explained the council, so everyone has fair representation, were not going to make them into anything less then equals, cause fuck they are just trying to survive as well. No, they didn't struggle like we did, they might have been given better accommodations from Wilford, can we blame them for what they have had to do to survive? Any one of us might have done the same thing given the chance back then if we knew.” Your eyes searched over the faces to see if anyone would disagree with you.

“And what about Matt? You just letting him go?” Someone asked. Your head shook out a no. “Right now, probably not. Not for a damn long time at least. Not till we're all sure he can be trusted. That would be a matter something like a council would weigh together and decide after discussing it with the group, that means all of us.” you breathed out, feeling the tightness in your chest just discussing your brother. “Curtis... I will be in the medical car if you need me.” Ending with having your say, Curtis nodded at you, his eyes flashing with worry for a moment, before turning back to the crowd. “Any more questions?”

You made your way through the cars, passing kids playing, older couples settling into new accommodations that didn't feel the need to attend the meeting, they would accept whatever at this point. And you finally came into what looked almost like a waiting room from your childhood, at the far end a curtain was pulled shut, just the shadows of people stretched in it's fabric. Working through the crowd, you poked your head around with a ''hey to see a Doctor working on Sara. Sara whom you tried hard to help, but now she was laid out, not in pain, she looked almost in bliss as the doctor looked up, his brows coming together. “If you have something urgent...you got to wait.”

“I was just coming to see if you needed help Dr. I have some training and I know a lot of the patients out there, my name is Y/N by the way.”

“Dr.Price, and I’m certainly not gonna turn you down on the offer. Go scrub up, and we will get started.” His eyes warmed when he smiled, and you immediately started to do as he asked, relieved to be of use again.

Curtis went to talk with the front enders, which it went a lot smoother then his previous chat went, all of them agreeing with the terms, and conditions. The people who ran the industrious food giving cars immediately went to there posts, along with handfuls of tail enders to help them clean up the mess the derailing caused, Curtis, John and Edgar organized teams to do some of the harder work. They had to get the dead removed, at least as quickly as possible from the liveable cars. It was something they had all avoided discussing, going car thru car to find the dead.

“What are we uh... going to do with them?” Edgar asked as the opened another door and looked in, looking at little green. Curtis was having a hard time with it, the heaviness of knowing these people would still be alive if he hadn't shoved his hand into the gears. The ache in his arm he figured was the least he deserved, his tone was clipped when he spoke. “Were going to have to burn them, it's the only way to get through this many people. If we just bury them under the snow, and it ever melts, they will just rot.” Having a plan in place, they got to work, dragging bodies wrapped in blankets away, someone finding gasoline and matches to light them on fire. It made for a long day. As it turned dark, the fire glowed bright as a beacon should there be any other people out there.

The lights flickered on in the doctors office as Price hit the switch, and looked in the waiting area. “Think were done for the night.” It was just the two of you left, and you perched against the examination table. “Not quite, Curtis should be by soon, and I really need you to look at his arm. Then there's me.” You admitted, your arm going around your midsection in a defensive way, and the doctor arched a brow. “Okay, what's going on with you?” He asked kindly, his voice made you relax a little.

“I might be pregnant, and I’m not sure if you happen to have anything for me, and some other women who might be in the same situation I am.” Your nose wrinkled to keep from letting yourself get to worked up, doing your best to keep this from turning into you crying in frustration, fear and trauma.

“Unfortunately Child, Tests went extinct a few years ago. But the best way to tell now is waiting for your cycle to happen. Do you have a estimate of when you start?”

You gave a shake of your head, time had been impossible to follow in the tail end. “No no... but I haven't ever missed before that I know of .”

“It’s the best way now, although not entirely reliable. If you don’t, then in the future I can do an exam for a fetus. Does the potential father know?”

Here is where your tears spilled and you covered your face in your shame, shaking your head. “There isn't a father, it wasn't consensual...” And suddenly Curtis came around the curtain, having heard part of the conversation, his arms immediately coming around you, rubbing along your back as you went from crying in your hands to his chest. His hand moved along the back of your head, holding you close as he spoke to Dr.Price, who just observed the interaction. “If she's pregnant and she decides to continue, then I would be the father.”

“Okay, if you happen to be Y/N, we are equipped to handle it in the way you should so choose.” Dr.Price started once you had calmed down, still tucked up against Curtis, but able to stay calm. “There are risks with either choice, so that's something you two will have to discuss. You should have any others come see me to, so I can talk to them.” Both you and Curtis nodded at him, and he reached down taking your hand in the very same way you had take his earlier, giving a light squeeze. “And for those interested... “ He looked directly at Curtis. “If you don’t mind spreading the word that I can do vasectomies to any that don’t want to risk it.”

“Yea, I will be sure to start letting people know. “ Curtis assured Dr.Price, rubbing the small of your back and on your hand you could feel him feathering his thumb back and forth over your knuckles. Dr.Price gave a reassuring smile to the both of them. He turned to a closet, and opened the door, stepping inside, and came back out with box of condoms, handing it over. “Use these for now. We do have limited amount of birth control supplies.” Your eyes widened as you took the box. “Like... actual prevention.” stunned as you turned the box over in your hands.

“Yes, I will only be giving it out to dedicated couples for now. There just isn't enough otherwise to go around unfortunately. Wilford had extreme rules for the front end. Every family was only allowed to have one child.” He said with some regret as he closed the door behind him, not offering more of an explanation as to what would happen should an unexpected pregnancy happen. “And they are damn old, so it's a risk, m'kay? Use with extreme caution.” You gave them to Curtis, nodding with understanding what he was saying. “So Y/N, just wait to see when your cycle comes, okay? We will know soon and you can decide where you would like to do from there. Try not to stress yourself sick over it. Now, I have an arm to look at?”

You tilted your head to look at Curtis. “It really needs to be looked at and cleaned up Curtis.” You move away while he went to shrug off his coat, and you took it from him. You bit your lip with a bit of anxiety while Curtis also reached over his shoulder and tugged off his shirt. “Just easier than trying to roll a sleeve up over it.” He remarked as he held his arm out. Standing behind Curtis, this had to be the first time you’ve seen him in bright light like this. And all over his back were little marks like scars. Nothing serious, but pale pink marks scattered across the spanse of his shoulders, and down. It tighten your chest seeing the struggles of their survival, how many times had Curtis been in pain and never said a word.

You really couldn't help in, your hand braced against his back and he stiffined a moment while the doctor looked over his arm. He glanced over his shoulder to see you sliding your hand, across his upper back, the tip of your finger tracing some of the bigger ones. He couldn't help the ripple of muscle that followed your touch and you pulled away, mouthing sorry. Curtis gave a light shake of his head. I missed your touch Babygirl, flashing you a smile before he turned back to the doctor finishing up.

“Let me tell you, your damn lucky. The scabs are keeping everything sealed up from infection. If any of them come off and it's an open wound, you haul ass here to me. You got it? No waiting. If any kind of infection settles in, you can easily loose your arm.” He twisted it a bit, and frowned at a few bright red spots that had some heat lining around the jagged cuts. “But just to be safe, Im giving you a shot to deal with any infection. I'm sure your white blood count is off right now dealing with this.” He prepped a shot for Curtis and you came around to see what his arm looked like. It looked so angry to you, all of it even hid his old scar from years ago. Dr.Pierce swabbed at Curtis upper arm and promptly gave the shot, without Curtis even paying attention. “well that finished that up, unless you two got more to fill me in on tonight?”

“No... I think that's everything I can think of.” You say and Curtis agrees with a subtle 'all good’ while putting his shirt back on, and taking his jacket from you, to drap over his arm. Dr.Price held out his hand, giving a firm shake to each of you. “Then I'm bidding you two good night, I'm exhausted and will be back in the morning. Y/N, if you got no other plans, I could use your help again. Curtis, I respect what your trying to do here. Good night.”

“Good Night Dr. Pierce, I will stop by tomorrow.” You assured him and all together you left, he turned one way, you two turned another. Curtis kept his arm around your shoulder, checking in on Yona. You leaned against the doorframe while Curtis made sure the girl was all set up, she had found a book somewhere and was struggling to read it to herself. It occurred to you she might only know the basics, making a mental note about seeing if she could help you with the orphans once you started to get in a routine. She would benefit from the lessons. “Night Yona" you waved your fingers at her and the girl did the same in a friendly manner.

Once you two reached the room, Curtis growled going in, rubbing at his face. “tomorrow I'm really switching our room for one with a bed.” You chuckle as you shuck off the outer clothing, and sitting on the edge of the couch to remove your boots. “Did everything else go okay?” You ask while toeing your boots off and leaned back against your hands, watching Curtis dig out his pockets. Apparently he brought a few cans with him. Dinner for the night to pair off with the jar of peanut butter Tam brought the night before. “It was... long. But everyone seemed on board after what you said, and let's just cross our fingers nothing happens tonight with anyone.” Using a knife, he started to pry off the top of a jar of fruit, and peeled off the top to set it aside. “We also started taking care of the dead, burning them several miles away.” His jaw tensed as he glanced out the window to see the red glow a ways in the distance, of it dying down.

Flicking his knife closed, he put it back in his pocket, and fingers closed around the box the doctor had given them. Taking it out and flipping it in his fingers looking at it. You had dipped your finger into the peanut butter jar when you saw it, unfolding off the couch and approaching him, biting your lip. “Did you ever use one before Curtis?” His brows arched at your question and gave a bit of a chuckle and quirk of a grin. “Yes, before the train I had, not a lot, I was just 17, but enough. They are not hard to use.” Curtis studied your face, the look of curiosity as well as tension and hints of fear. Giving a shake of his head, Curtis opened a drawer and tossing them in to shut them out of sight. “And you don't have to fret about them Babygirl, your not ready.”

You dropped your face to look down, picking at your fingers, Curtis slid his fingers underneath your chin to lift it to have you look at him, cupping your face in between his hands. “There's no rush Babygirl, whenever it happens for us again, it's because you want to and were ready to.”

You couldn't help the irrational thoughts swirling through your mind, and even though Curtis has already assured you that it wasn't the case, there was always that dark part saying you were ruined for him. “Its not because you don’t-" Curtis cut you off right there dropping a kiss on your lips, and leaning his forehead against yours.

“Not at all Babygirl, it wasn't your fault. I wouldn’t ever look at you any differently. Your still as beautiful to me as when we first got to know each other. Come on, get ready for bed Sweetness.” He said softly, and the two of you got comfortable for the night, Curtis turning you two to easier converstaions.

Weeks passed and just a few mishaps had happened, but nothing serious. There was still some tension between the tail end people and the front end, but much to Curtis pleasure, there were more people actually trying than not. A council did get made after some time, a fair representation of all the people. Curtis was chosen to represent the tail end, even though he encouraged others, you had found it quite amusing how shocked he was about the whole ordeal. John was the second tail enders choice, Dr.Price and a woman named Madison was chosen to represent the front end. So far the first order of business was what to do about Matt. And it was unanimous that he was kept locked up.

You became a permanent resident working with Dr.Price, seeing how the tail enders were still nervous about the doctor, and there health issues were various. You had convinced the other women who were in the end car during the revolt to see the doctor and talk about the attacks. Like you, it was all a waiting game, and it was a heavy knot in your stomach most days. Curtis would check in several times a day, pulling you aside as his eyes searched yours, and you would smile, tilting up to kiss him and assure him you were fine. That day you were cleaning up a scraped knee, the little boy sniffling as you rolled up his pants leg. “my name is Y/N” You tell him as you set your stool in front of him and pour some cleaner on a cloth. You didn't know him, so you figured he must be one of the other car residents. “Whats your name?”

A couple sniffles as he looks at his knee and a little miserable voice finally answered. “Tommy... but you can call me Tom. I'm getting to old for Tommy.” He said, trying to sound a bit tougher, and you were very gentle, dabbing at his knee to clean up the blood. It was certainly not as worse as it seemed, but you praised Tommy up. “Well Tom, this was a nasty fall. Your really tough.” You put on some antiseptic cream, remembering not to long ago you couldn't do this much, and here you were getting ready to put a bandage on a scrape, if only to make a little boy feel better. Tommy wiped at his eyes to get rid of the tears. “Really? I tripped when playing tag with the other kids.”

“Oh certainly Kiddo.” You heard Curtis voice behind you and a glance over your shoulder showed him coming around the curtain. “You heard Curtis.” You agree turning back to Tommy while un peeling a band-aid from the wrapper. Curtis heavy hands came to rest on your shoulders, massaging them while you attended to your patient. “In fact, tougher than Curtis.” You whispered to him, and Tommy’s eyes widened as they looked from you to the tall man standing behind you, in which Curtis was nodding in agreement.

“Yup, and you have the best nurse there is. She fixes me up all the time, and everything is all better afterwards.” You couldn't help but smile to yourself hearing him, sticking the bandage on his knee and rolling down his pants leg. “Okay Tom. You are all set to go.” You moved to a stand, to feel Curtis hand slide down your back to curve around your waist as Tommy said a quick thank you, and raced off, all fixed and ready to play again. Curtis chuckled watching the boy duck out of the car into the next. “Good job Nurse Y/N.” and you winked up at him, rubbing his chest as you leaned in his side. “I had a little help, what are you doing here though? I thought you were helping out with clean up.”

“Ahhh, I was, but I have a surprise for you. I came down to see if you were busy.”

“No, Dr.Price is doing some rounds on the train doing check ups, I was about to head into the kitchen to help out. But for you, I can spare... 3 minutes.” You teased as Curtis led you out. “Where we going?”

“Well Babygirl... A surprise means I can't tell you.” He smirked at you, his arms circled your waist from behind and he tipped his head to place a soft kiss just below your ear. You whined a bit to play back, reaching for his hands and taking them in your own, palms pressed to the tops of his hands, and weaving your fingers with his own.

“You can give me a hint Curtis.” you ask hopefully, just maybe he would give some clue as to what he had.

“Okay... Your going to really like it.” He teased as the two of you went down another walkway, and he pulled you two to a stop.

“You know, that isn't much of a clue Handsome.” You look up at him while turning to face him, your hands releasing his to cross over your chest, He looked so damn excited, that you couldn't help but bite your lip at the anticipation.

“Well close your eyes and I can get you ready.” He grasps your shoulders and turns you to face a closed door, making you snap your eyes shut and a hand went over your eyes. The click of the door sounded and his breath was warm when he whispered in your ear. “Okay take five steps forward and stop.”

You took five tentative steps like he asked, and the click sounded again. He removed his hand and said from behind you. “Okay... Open them.” When you did, you were greeted with a new live in room, so much larger then the last one, it was still all one room, but this had a large bed, with a window that stretched the length of the room giving a wall length view outside, and you spun on your heels to continue looking around. An easy chair that was for relaxing next to a table, nearby a door going into what you assumed was the bathroom, which you stepped into, your jaw dropping just a bit. “That’s an actual tub... not a shower.” You stepped back out, Curtis tilting his head with arched brows.

“You like this room? If you don't I can switch us back, we just finished going through this car and I thought that this would be a better-” he was rambling and you caught him by surprise, tugging on his shirt to drag him down, and your lips met his with excitement and happiness. You pressed him to back up to the easy chair which he fell back into and you straddled his lap, to cup his face and feather soft kisses across his face. “Its perfect, really. More than I could have asked for Curtis.” His hands rested on your thighs on either side of him, sliding his hands along the tops and over to your waist, holding you while his blue eyes for the first time in weeks seemed content and relaxed.

Your arms slid around his neck, and you leaned into his chest with your head tilting to rest on his shoulder. Curtis slid his hands just under your shirt, rubbing small circles along your hips and lower back. He was content, the best hes felt since that day of the Revolt. Besides sleeping at night, this was the most intimate you've been with him, and he wouldn't look a gift in the mouth. These moments Curtis had long ago learned to appreciate. His head dropped and kissed the hollow between your shoulder and neck. “I love you Babygirl.”

Your arms tightened around his neck a bit more when he said that. “I love you to Handsome.”

Cars away Edgar made his way towards where they were keeping the prisoner. His memories of Matt were few and far between. A boy who would play with him, doing races or climbing the bunks in a hide and seek with Y/N. It upset Edgar deep down that Matt no longer seemed to be his friend that he remembered. Now, he was just a tyrannical man, bent on bringing his friends to an end. He held up the bag of food to show the guard, and by passed the man standing at the entrance, flicking on a light to show Mat laying on his side, situated in a pallet Curtis had made for him. Heavy chain with a cuff circling his foot. They had come across the equipment in the livestock car, if it was good enough to keep an animal in it's place, it was good enough for a prisoner.

“Got yer food...” Edgar approached cautiously, and set it down, nudging it closer with his foot. Matt looked over his shoulder and pushed to sit up, pulling the bag closer and looking in. “Is there gonna come a day you all give me something real?” He pulled out some heels of bread, and chewed on it while Edgar sat away from him, working on opening a can.

“Until we are better situated, this is what we got for you. If you look there is some chicken in there to.” Edgar pried off the lid and was sure to set it further away, knowing it could easily cut someone should Matt get ahold of it. “Be fucking thankful, would ya? We don't have to give you anything. Let you starve.”

“My sister would never allow that.” Matt said with confidence, digging out the chicken leg and peeling the flesh off to pop it into his mouth. “Curtis though... Given the chance, he would. Y'all think I'm cold hearted. Well...” He shrugged, and Edgar frowned as he harshly pushed the can of vegetable over to him.

“Shut your fucking mouth, ya don't know what your talking about.”

“Oh don't I Edgar?” He quickly snatched the can before it could be taken away, Scooping out mixed veggies and shoving them in his mouth like he was starving. “How much do you really know about your precious 'leader of the tail end' ?”

Edgar snarled in anger, using the knife to press against Matt's throat and took back the can that was mostly gone and the bag that was almost empty now. “You don't even deserve to talk about him, after what you did. Helping Wilford, all those innocent kids y'all took.” Pulling away, Matt leaned back against the metal wall.

“What... just trying to survive? Cause none of us done that.” Watching closely, he could see he got Edgar flustered, the way he was picking up the stuff he brought and shoving it into the bag, his actions were more like jerks in agitation. Matt hid a smirk, having just laid his foundation in the young man's mind. As Edgar went to stomp out, Matt said calmly. “See you around Edgar... Tell Curtis and Y/N I said 'Hi’. “ Edgar shot a look at him, and the steel door slammed shut, leaving Matt whistling a child hood uplifted tune in the dark, waiting for his moment.

partially because it’s important to evaluate them and their knowledge

relied on jun a lot in terms of adjustment here in korea, and he’s probably closest to him in the ed

has jun scrub in with him for surgeries sometimes

as a side note, i think it rly shows the strength of the writing that the feeling of the narrative can change so much, esp when u take into consideration that we jump between the points of view of TWO characters? like with cinder we’ve gone from sheer fury to gruesome sickness, and with glynda we’ve gone from Complete Dissociation to this gentle and soft morning and you can feel it absolutely fluffing up in every word! still love how good the writing in this fic is its NUTS

Cinder shrugged. Her usual clothes were still in the wash; right now, she was wearing high-waisted black pants and a loose top tucked in.

Cinder touched the matching one hanging from her own neck, almost in surprise. She cleared her throat. Her tone was very deliberately mocking: “Cute.”

Why is Roxy praying? That’s such a weird thing to drop as a small detail, who would she even be praying too?

“What’s bugging him about it is that Roxy didn’t seem to have any suggestions of her own.”

Yeah relationships built on social chameleon-ing aren’t happy for the chameleon either

Yeah John, little bit late to be having this sudden realization that you didn’t actually solve the problem (LE) by running away from it, even if everyone else has accepted that version of events

Wait, is that what Rose said at the beginning? No it isn’t, I remember the bit about John has to go back inside canon and defeat Lord English, I don’t think the method was ever fully explained though, nor the idea that he had to defeat him as a kid, it was never said he had to go back in time, just go back to canon

and that’s not what happened in the Meat timeline either! Nobody went back in time to defeat Caliborn when he was a kid, they just had the big showdown with LE exactly the way Rose is describing that went horribly wrong

this is practically screaming NEITHER Meat or Candy is the true version of events

Actually yeah, defeating Caliborn really IS the way this should be settled, because it’s also the way that Dirk get saved as well, can’t get his ultimate self tainted if the taint is destroyed before it ever comes into contact with him

also im rereading the prologue now, it’s is NEVER explicitly said that John has to go and defeat lord english’s child form!

She said “you have to go back to canon to defeat LE” NOT go back in time to defeat caliborn

and “you can’t recklessly attack his hulking adult form without the house juju”

not “you can’t attack him as an adult at all” but “you can do that WITHOUT the juju” and describes it being used in the same way that Vriska ended up doing in Meat

yeah, she never mentions any plan to defeat him as a child in the prologue, which probably means Rose only saw a vision of his defeat as an adult as well

It’s gonna be JOHN who gets the idea to go back and kill him as a kid, because that’s how he understood Rose’s instructions!

But this is great, everything is vaguely worded enough that it COULD be applied to a fight against a young caliborn too! but just hasn’t yet!

What if you take the empty cursor and fill it with a young caliborn? instead of unleashing a full one against an adult LE? which proves to be pretty useless in the long run despite Rose’s apparent clouded vision?

Rose even says herself its only purpose is as an empty vessel meant to be filled by something, talk about totally understanding yet missing the point, this is probably what she meant by being unable to see any path beyond the meat or candy routes, she couldnt see the possibility of using the juju on caliborn before everything goes down just like how it was used on John and friends to trap them in there in Meat!

It’s Caliborn’s destined time out spot! Removing him from Canon and from being able to influence it without needing to kill someone who technically hasnt done bad things yet but absolutely will in the future solving the baby adolf problem with Caliborn

Oh man, what if they even trick Caliborn on using it against himself? talk about an earthbound reference, defeat Gigyas (LE) by tricking Pokey (Caliborn) to trap himself in the "Absolutely Safe Capsule” (House JuJu)

Oh man back on the Candy train though John’s having an absolute breakdown, being infused with that canon retcon power seems to be the only thing preserving his ability to care about stuff beyond this happy drugged up paradise

Earth C has become Homestuck’s Ba Sing Se

8. Oldest WIP

now? probably the becoming, my obligatory gears reimagining tale. i started thinking about writing it in high school, but couldn’t settle on an exact version of gears to write. in college i’m still bothered by it, like it’s something i need to write but i just dont know how. i have a good plot set up now involving gears and mann in hong kong in the 80s that deals a lot with some mekhane cults and stuff, but it just….doesnt feel right yet. so that one’s like…..4 years old now lol

11. Books and/or authors who influenced you the most

amazingly- and this kind of sounds like it’s coming out of left field knowing the kind of stuff i read these days- gary pulsen. when i was in 6th grade i read a ton of his shit, and i remember a very specific moment where i was reading Winterdance. i remember one day, i loved what he had written for a scene so much i decided to go back and ‘figure out’ for myself how he made it feel so exciting using the words like that; it was the first time i ever closely examined someone’s actual writing technique. my 11 year old self observed that he used run on sentences in the areas where it got really exciting, and i started experimenting with it myself, and as you can see some eight years later…..i should have never done it. it’s now like, a hallmark of my writing style. if i would have never read that goddamn dog book we wouldnt be in this mess

as for more specific recent influences…..i stumbled across off-site access to a few obscure ancient ess see pee works over the winter. the story was…dazzling, and reawakened some of the awe and ‘fuck it, let’s write a wild ass story’ attitude i had when i was a newbie on the site. as of right now i keep them in a folder on my desktop for when i need to remind myself that nothing matters and its more fun not to care

17. What writing habits or rituals do you have?

i get awful writers’ cramp writing on paper. like, when i took my AP exams at the end of high school, i went out and bought an arthritic pen to write the essays with (it worked, and that pen is the most comfortable motherfucker ive ever used). i have no idea if i grip my pen/pencil too hard or if i fucked it up as a kid or what’s going on in there, but it means that i write almost everything on my laptop. this is unfortunate because i also do a lot of other things on my laptop, and my little gremlin brain gets distracted by them in .3 seconds. of course, once i get writing, i get writing and can go for hours, but it makes it hard to start.

this means that i have a separate writing program i keep up in full screen in another window 24/7. whenever i write, i go there. its great because it’s so fucking barren. look at this shit.

aside from that, i always find my voice a little easier if i read a page or two of something else before i start in on a session, even if it’s an old piece of my own shit or something. i dont always do it, because my writing schedule and mannerisms are chaotic as hell, but yeah.

20. How many WIPs and story ideas do you have?

i’m on a pattern where i randomly cling to a certain idea and spend months to a year on a huge piece for it before shitting it out onto the internet. the two biggest pieces that have come as a product of this are Major Tom and ess see pee-4231, taking me 8 months and a year, respectively. i write other things, too, obviously, but i usually end up unable to shake a few very choice ideas, and those are the ones that get the most blood, sweat, and tears put into them. usually they’re larger ideas with a big scope to work with.

32. Most difficult character to write

right now? i have a main character named rowan in a big original project i have going on, and i just….haven’t decided on the kind of person he is yet. i have a good chunk of his backstory worked out, but he also ends up getting regularly drugged with heavy horse tranquilizers and reshaping his entire childhood with a few main events warped to reveal possible traumas, so you know how it is. he’s obviously very unreliable as a narrator, but i’m not sure what kind of person he is to be an unreliable narrator. like, the horse tranquilizers definitely helped it along, but there’s also a lot of…wild shit going on in there. he might just be being unreliable out of cowardice, because hes fully aware and conscious of the role he played in several murders, including those of a few of his close friends and collaborators. so who knows

36. Last sentence you wrote

40. Share some backstory for one of your characters

kilroy fisher’s mom really wanted him to be a web developer, and kilroy was pretty eager to please her until a couple things happened:

1. when he was ten, he was enrolled in a foundation research program doing brain scans of young technopaths with hopes to create an AI system to repel their specific psychic influence. part of the test involved kilroy being exposed to a prototype of this AI, written in an extraordinarily complex unique coding language. how he was able to interact with it and how the code felt to him when he was around it was like nothing he had ever experienced before. he was fascinated. the AI was set to be used, at least at first, around the most secure Foundation databases. the heart of the AI was strongly implied to be centered in the databases themselves. he’d only seen the skin of it.

2. he read william gibson’s neuromancer, and very quickly became a cyberpunk technopath hacker kid, to his mother’s horror.

Kilroy ended up obsessed with this. like, absolutely off the shits, increasingly lost in the sauce as his teenaged years wore on. he quickly discovered that if technopaths work with this coding language for like, more than an hour in their unique psychic state- which is the most effective way to go about it due to the complexity of the code- it starts manifesting in bleeding from various areas of the head (ears, nose, teeth) and eventually leads to seizures and really intense migraines. this makes sense because like….its literally used as an anti-technopath code for anti-technopath interests, but kilroy, who at this point was severely depressed and bordering on suicidal, became addicted to working with it as a means of regular self harm.

Kilroy ended up writing a bootleg terminal program for the language, which would theoretically allow people to more easily work with the code and even eventually break into that all-important foundation defense AI that was now his sole reason to live. after a fight with his girlfriend resulted in her calling him ‘a fucking ruthless pig’ for being literally obsessed with it to the point of regular physical collapse, he deemed it RUTHLESS.exe and started going with the handle ‘Gip’ online, especially in circles where the program was in high demand for Criminal Actions™ and he was seen as a fucking godsend to working with this thing.

this eventually culminated in some attempted hacking of the actual AI itself, quickly followed by an intense hospitalization while he recovered and had surgery to remove the traumatic cataracts in both eyes, subsequently followed by being shipped off to containment. technopath containment is literally just….a setting with no technology. in his case, this meant that he has since lived alone in a specially built little house on a foundation-owned little farm in the middle of nowhere.

he gets visits from foundation agents twice a week that bring him food and supplies, because he’s not allowed off the premises. he takes care of his sheep (or at least like, the sheep the foundation has put him in charge of as part of his ‘rehabilitation’ or whatever). he’s bordering on suicidal again, and they put him on some heavy medication that leaves him feeling numb most of the time. he wears bifocals because of the permanent damage to his vision. he lives without electricity. he reads a lot. he reads and rereads neuromancer a lot, and after a few years of this he decides that he needs to reach a decision on the whole ‘suicide’ thing, because this is really getting ridiculous.

and that’s where the story finds him. i have no idea how im gonna write all that backstory coherently. im probably gonna binge read more william gibson stuff and pray.

If only people knew where i came from. They would listen, awaken, broken and beaten.

You'd think that I’d be sitting here thinking about everything, but my head is filled with holes, life with no meaning.

All that people have ever said to me, but their words don't even matter, you can only learn so much from an idiot, when you think that you know the world as much as the world did.

When you sit there thinking about all of the things that you believe, knowing that life is futile, alone and at ease.

And thinking about whether you're right or wrong, thinking that you have it all. for me, it's more about morality, it's not perfect, but it works, because its raw..

Morality is a non-arguable stance, you can't make’em shift, you can't make em dance. you can't change their mind unless they themselves choose to do so, and experience something that makes the colors change.

Your mind is only something that you choose to change, no one else can do that unless faced with the brave, the active decision to have a discussion is there in one single place. Yet you all argue over the same tired talking points. racism, sexisim, gender, and choice.

when you wake up in the morning, is the first thing you do is think about what you might argue today? Do you think about who you are going to piss off, or hurt, harass, embarrass, or shame?

Do you even consider for one second how your actions can affect someone?

I really doubt it, because you only think of yourself and what you want, and then some.

What's really funny to me is that there are people who exist that try to do the right thing, saying wise things, yet have all the wrong knowledge. What an anomaly, special, but pointless.

Can you really live with yourself knowing that you believed in lies, and tried to use the past to justify your retarded guise? the past is a poor argument. yet People sit there and say, the past is in the past, and we need to focus on change. the world isn't so black and white and blue and gray.

With today's social climate, i hate that people use the past to attack others, yet they never grasp, using insults to tear someone down mentally and emotionally, how do you live, knowing that damage is overkill?

I'm so happy to hear the kids abducted to Hong Kong got to hear and see and talk to their hero that saved them today through Zoom in Brian's phone!!!

It was so lucky and such perfect timing that he called me today while the military crews were still resting in China and Wendy was able to pinpoint their locations directly!!

The companies we have left is 642 to check out as they hadn't had yet done any bad and no dreams or any thing has came up since...

Which isn't happy, we now know, but good news is whatever bad has happened we can fix is super special and magical ways.

So we have Thorn, CIA, Military, some FBI and some others to check what's been going on and see.

So that's about 8 Trillion that have been affected. But at least 6 Trillion have already been retrieved.

The struggle

Apparently there are things that I can do to get free from my torture. Im not sure what exactly but My life is like a continued subliminal message. I think there is a list of goals from years ago that i must complete. I always make a list of goals its just something that i did since i can remember. it became a habit it helped me stay focus at times i would use a list of goals to escape reality and imagine . There nothing wrong with a 17 or 18 year old boy shooting for the stars. But i dont think i should be tortured for setting goals that generally take people there entire life to achieve , that was something i did to keep myself driven rather i obtained it or not i programed myself to keep my motor running so even if i accomplish a small goal then ill never settle and get content. As long as youre chasing something then you will always have a reason to grind. I have a chip on my shoulder i know noone thinks i can achieve most things that i desire but its not about them its about me. I hate to be doubted i enjoy proving people wrong. But as far as what i personally write down thats between me myself and god. That not for anyone else , the torture deprives you of having a personal relationship with yourself. I think i can obtain a certain amount of money to be free but being 21 years old living with my mom and no car. Life is forcing me to grow up and how can you exceed under these conditions. Life is hard as is but everyone you know being able to read your thoughts and see your actions multiple personalities giving you signs not knowing whos trying to help you or whos trying to hurt you .... trust me they will force your family to advise you wrongly. Electronicaly they will harras you they will make your card decline when you having money in your account they will torture using social media netflix vedio games .......How can you get anything done??? Mental toughness is a must. Im under the impression that you can get free by doing some gay shit , not gonna happen ... Or maybe i can get free by Having sex with someone ugly and or Fat. Im not sure some of these things may be a set up to make my conditions worser. Oh yeah im pretty sure i can get free by getting someone pregnant but in my opinion thats simply just not a good choice due too my life conditions .... basically they are trying to force me to do a bunch things that i wouldnt and its weird and unreasonable I dont feel i deserve any of this. Oh yeah and i think like females get points or paid when i look at there butt or if i think they are cute or like any positive thoughts about there apperance Im under the impression that they will get paid or get points if i have sex, or approach them in any kind of way. I think my evil ex is out to make me have a baby and is like paying or bribing females large amounts of money. I dont want any kids at this moment in my life. Ive been extremely lonesome and i really want people to talk to that cant read my thoughts or see my actions i want genuine relationships with people i want people to be real actually get to know me grow a bond with me rather if it is a relationship or not. There is a piece of me that wants to have a girlfriend but there is also a piece of me that want to figure out what i like in women. My variety in taste varies im not the kind of guy that is 1 dimensional, i like women of every race as far as lust and attraction. I don't know how to explain it but i like what i like when i like it. I feel like the attribute that i am mostly attracted to is the way a woman carries herself more than that i love being able to communicate and also being able to learn from someone that i could also teach or help. I mean we all have desires im not really sure but thats why i want to live more so i can experience more. there are some things that i may like but i dont know that i like because i havent encountered a woman that will show me. I want more experience with dealing with women and people in general. The crazy ex was my first love and because of that i dont really seek for love or havent really ill be honest im afraid of getting attached so i wanna learn more about me i dont want to be tide down to one girl unless she made me feel that way. How a female acts and how she makes me feel when I'm alone with her will determine our future. I dont ever want to fall in love with a thot or even be serious with a women with no morals. Sometimes people fall in love with the presence of someone while they are blind to who they really are. If a women wants me to be with her, i need to know that she respects herself and that shes loyal. Ive never cheated on anyone so its only fair that if im going to be willing to curve someone , i need the girl that im in a relationship with to have the same energy when i say im serious about an individual then i mean it. My reputation reflects that. I dont see myself being in a relationship anytime soon but once i gain more experience figure myself out then ill set out for a women but i wanna be sure. Right now im young only 21 years old i just want to kick it. I dont want a bunch of people spying on my life and judging me. I just want the torture to be over with i want to have fun and enjoy life . I dont want to change who i am for anyone i want to be around people who will except me for me I want to be able to change my mind i dont want to be mentaly enslaved. I wonder who was this punishment meant for and are they running around freely happily living life while im forced to go through things i dont deserve. I know alotta people had to betray me for me to get in this position . If they had plans of killing me they might as well let me live a happy life .... its not like i deserve to die as it is. Ive been praying and i truly think there is way i can overcome this i just have to remain faithful to god and be strong. Its possible that if i get a car and find my own place that i could possibly get free. I dont know for sure im trying to figure it out . My evil ex wants me to marry her i think thats a way to get free as well but i dont think i would ever do that i have my reasons ... more than enough . she continues to torture me everyday for years i guess she wanted me dead she really is obsessed with torturing me. Theres really nothing i can do so i try not to think about how my ex and all my friends betrayed me. Ive talked to god about all of them and i let go of all that anger .... i still dont trust any of them i as i shouldnt they are responsible for what im going through if i act like they are worthy of my trust that would be dumbest shit in the world. They know if it were vise versa i would have never did anything of this nature im not perfect but im loyal. Real niggas are at a All time low ... if i come accross a Real women there is no doubt that ill be a real nigga to her. I know nowadays everybody faking like they real I truly believe fake bitches deserve fake niggas. The closest association I ever had with constance was us two being on the same cast reveal post. And I'm far more than content with that interaction. He's from facebook, and that means he is going to stir the pot when there isn't any stirring necessary. He is going to make a move just to make a move, and if I cut him earlier the better. But if I can work with him, and test and experience how he plays this game. I do think it would be more entertaining Drew: I have good relations with him but really havent played an org with him. I have no intentions on backstabbing him especially in this cast. I do think he will either slide into the shadows, or emerge as the person calling the shots for this tribe. Jay: Same as Drew tbh. My tribe is probably going to be useless. Which means that we have to turn it OUT for immunity. Randy, Roxy and I are all attempting to make flags. I have faith in Randy's abilities... roxy, not so much. But she does have a good artistic ability, so I hope she turns it out for this. We can hope. We can hope.

I really don't like my tribe but I think I like the other tribe even less just from the few people I've encountered before or at the very least heard about. If anything though that's great for me because I have all of two or three people I remotely care about so I have no issues with taking people out.

Anyway. Here's some tea. Roxy thinks I talk too much about being in the hospital. Sorry sweaty, I'm disabled, I'm gonna be in the hospital. And I have the right to talk about whatever I want. ANYWAY, Constance, the literal loml, gave me this tea so that's great. I LOVE HIM. So we made an alliance of me and drew, because drew has a "bad reputation" (sweetie, you were the one making tasteless comments night one, let's not get it twisted here!!) We talk a bunch, we have good laughs, and we head to bed. I went into this round wanting to target Roxy anyway, but she just went painted a bullseye on her back for me!

This first round felt so nostalgic to me, in the sense that being gone from these games for a while allowed me to step back and revitalize the way that I play games. In the beginning of the game, I felt an immediate connection with Cameron. He is someone who has a really nice, personable outlook as a person and I could see myself becoming really good allies and friends outside of this game. I also really enjoy Drew, Sam and Jill. Drew: I was excited to see him in this game because we just met a few days before the game started because he flirted with me a little and I thought he was a nice guy in general. I haven't had the chance of getting to know him all that well yet, though he stated to me that he will not write my name down throughout the game when we were first added to the tribe, so I hope that stays as promised. Sam: We both come from the same community but we both individually transferred to Tumblr at different points in time. I don't know him well enough to say he could be someone I stay with for the long run, but I have had a few calls with him and he seems pretty straightforward about what he wants in this game and where he wants to go. I'll leave it at that for now. Jill: She is literally everything that is me. "I'm going to see my sugar daddy," "I am eating a whole barbecque chicken pizza to myself," "I need money" I LOVE THIS CHICK! We need to align and become friends for sure because I can't see myself without her! One smaller relationship I have is with Chrissa and that will require some work on my part, both game wise and friend wise included. We had a rough past on a personal note but we are working our ways around it to become friends again on a personal level, not even on a game level. I feel like if Chrissa is able to handle herself in this game with me the way she did in Arrakis ages ago, she should be good to go with me! The people I really don't talk with or connect with right now are Jay, Roxy, Randy and Regan. - Jay just hasn't spoken a lot, but that may be subject to change? - Regan has this huge negative perception that everyone has given about her and I'm honestly not about holding past games or whatnot against anyone. If she is as crazy or as ballistic as people say she is then that will happen on it's own accord. - Randy is..Randy. I'm not really putting a whole lot here. He comes off extremely weird to me and I'm not feeling it. - Roxy and Randy both share the same trait they don't mind expressing: their messy players. I'm not one to want to play with people who are going to knowingly make things difficult for me in this game moving forward. I feel like getting out people who tend to be wildcards for my individual game will boost my ability to better know the personalities I surround myself with. Intended Target: Roxy Reason: I had a call with Sam and discussed some feelings about the challenge for the flag that had taken place. In my individual opinion, expressing the idea of putting in effort for a challenge and then doing the opposite of what you said you would do, shows a false sense of sportsmanship and that bothers me. Roxy said she would make a temporary flag as a concept, but never did and constantly said "I'm lazy, so I don't want to do it." Adding on to the reason above, I was asked if I wanted to be added to a call with Sam by Roxy as they were both speaking with each other and I said I wouldn't mind joining. We both tried asking Roxy about potential ideas for the vote off and Roxy made it clear that Regan would be too easy to get rid of. Then came the critical point of the conversation where Roxy would bring up Cameron and Drew's names, stating that Drew apparently has a bad or weird reputation in the Tumblr community of games, but this is COSTA RICA not any other game. She also stated in regards to Cameron word for word that, "I just think Cameron talks about themselves too much in the main chat, and that brings people to feel for them more, and that makes them look bad" and this was in relation to when Cameron stated he was in the hospital. I found that to be extremely bothersome because otherwise, Cameron has never talked about himself constantly or anything like that. My intentions are to pull myself, Drew, Cameron, Jill, Sam and Jay to vote out Roxy. I started the idea when I asked Sam on call blatantly and he agreed and I calmly took it by step. That's all I have folks! I hope this works out and if for some odd reason I go home first, well then it was fun while it lasted!

Okay so I need to catch yall up on how shit can turn into bliss SO reward I literally ate shit in. i scored to lowest out of everybody in the whole cast. Making myself inferior to competition flops like Chrissa. So that wasnt really well. However my soccial game has been stepping up. Even though im lacking a little bit in the pm part of my game. I have been having good chemistry with literally everybody in the tribe chat. I have also led us in the flag immunity. So me and Cameron made a flag. And the tribe had to pick which one, and it was pretty set even. I do think the end result wouldve been the same but it was nice to see people on my side and supporting me. So then we lose the tribal flag, and im literally yeeted away from the tribe. Which is really good since with this tribal vote i wouldve been thrown under the bus. allegedely roxy has been throwing names around, and had i stayed in the tribe it might of been my name that was thrown around since it was my flag that lost. so im happy to avoid the drama of the first vote. but now that people have bonded since roxy's polarization im starting to become more outcasted. I just need go stronger for immunities and amp up my social game even more. Since ive been to the other tribe I have a feeling on whats happening. Cole is aligned with all them bitches. Literally Madison Louise are people he's played with before, and when we talked in pms he said this tribe is full of his friends. He is very safe in his tribe which is really nice. Since the League of Gays need to work together at the merge : ~)
