What a February

2/6/24: Harry catches a last-minute flight to London. Clarence House puts out a story "business as usual, nothing to worry about, King can still work and he is still working" (i.e., Harry go home).

2/7/24: Harry arrives in London. He goes directly to Charles, who is delaying travel to Sandringham to see him. Harry's PR says they met for an hour, Meghan wanted to say hello/wish him well via Facetime but Charles declined, and Harry went to BP for the evening. The Daily Mail tracked the comings and goings from Clarence House and realized the meeting lasted less than 15 minutes, from the time of Harry's convoy entering the grounds to Charles's helicopter leaving. It is further revealed that Harry spent the night in a hotel, William didn't return Harry's calls, Harry didn't want Camilla involved in the meeting, and none of Harry's "friends" offered to host him for the night. Also, William makes his first public engagements since mid-January when Kate's treatment began; Tom Cruise is there.

2/8/24: Harry flies home. He's papped at Heathrow entering the VVIP suite (as one does). Wait, Harry's not at home! He's in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl (or the Superb Owl) and makes a surprise appearance to present the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award. Sussex PR immediately begins telling everyone that Harry and Meghan will be attending the Super Bowl.

2/9/24: Lambrook School begins half-term break and the Wales family travels to Anmer Hall/Sandringham estate. Harry's appearance in Vegas gets picked up by the media.

2/10/24: Meghan's PR starts walking back their own rumors that they'll be in Vegas for the Super Bowl, citing the need to prepare for their Canada IG trip.

2/11/24: Super Bowl Sunday. No Harry and Meghan to be seen.

2/12/24: Meghan's PR reveals she spent the weekend cooking with Afghan immigrants in an Archewell initiative.

2/13/24: Harry and Meghan launch their newest rebranding effort with their new Sussex website with Meghan's coat of arms (rather than their joint coat of arms). Meghan announces a new podcast deal with someone no one has really heard of.

2/14/24: Harry and Meghan arrive in Vancouver for the "one year to 2025 Invictus Games." Meghan coordinates a photoshoot with outdoor activities; merches two outfits; and virtue-signals their "we're still royal" demands with Kate cosplay, a coat called Kensington, and a 'you can call us Sir/Ma'am' exchange caught on camera. In the evening they're papped going to a super-romantic Valentine's Day dinner date.

2/15/24: Day 2 of the Vancouver IG kickoff visit. They visit wheelchair basketball. Meghan gives her signature full-body contact-hugs. Sussex PR announce that the family has changed their surname to Sussex (from Mountbatten-Windsor) and this is the first time all family members have the same surname. Meghan also claps back at mounting criticism by saying "We will not be broken."

2/16/24: Day 3 of the Vancouver IG kickoff visit. Harry gives an interview to GMA's Will Reeve (son of the late Superman actor Christopher Reeve and his wife, Dana) in which he blabs about Charles's cancer and reiterates how much he loves his family, hinting that he's available to come back. Sussex PR also drops an article in the afternoon (with BP collaboration) announcing Harry and Meghan's plan to return with half in/half out; this is very clearly one of Charles's trial balloons from Clarence House.

(Today) 2/17/24: Backlash to the trial balloon is swift, so Clarence House backtracks immediately and does damage control. Kensington Palace announces that William will attend the 2024 BAFTAs tomorrow. Half-term break for Lambrook School ends on February 19th so the Waleses are traveling back to London/Windsor this weekend. And Hollywood has fought back by leaking about their Netflix deal, which contradicts a ton of Meghan's PR from 2020/2021.

Since some of you have asked for my thoughts, here you go. I am warning you now it's probably going to be my usual essay.

On the new website:

The new Sussex website is a problem. It conveys a legitimacy to the public that Harry and Meghan do not have, which The Queen and Edward Young made very sure was publicly known back in 2020. In particular, it's the use of Meghan's coat of arms, which signals palace support or endorsement. IMO, Buckingham needs to force them to take the coat of arms down.

I suspect they are using Meghan's coat of arms because a) Meghan believes it was personally awarded to her and is hers to use as she wants, whereas Harry's coat of arms probably comes with strings from the BRF and b) it's CYA if ever there's a divorce - if you look at it from a business standpoint, this is nothing more than Meghan branding the company with her name so she can prove ownership when they're splitting assets in a divorce, increasing her chances of getting the "company."

What about Archewell?

They're probably phasing out Archewell. It doesn't have the same visual connection to Harry and Meghan that Sussex does. I think they struggled so much with Archewell and were never able to get it off the ground in terms of a brand or an identity, in part due to the COVID-era launch. Sussex is a much stronger association for them and connects them more tightly to the royal identity. Archewell will probably be either their nonprofit arm or their content creator arm but it won't be as important going forward as it's been in the past.

Frankly, I would be surprised if Archewell v Sussex branding didn't come up in the brand analysis that WME did when Meghan first signed with them. We know they did a brand analysis because there was a ton of PR in August 2023 about Harry and Meghan becoming separate brands, which didn't work at all and they were back together as a "Sussex" brand in September 2023 with Dusseldorf Invictus Games. Seeing the success of "Team Sussex" in Dusseldorf definitely informed the website and the rebranding attempt.

What about the timing of all this?

They're taking advantage of the quietness from the royal family. They do this every year like clockwork when 1) the BRF is on summer holidays (July through early September) and 2) the BRF is on winter holidays (late December through early February). What is unusual about this timing is that it's taking place in mid-February and possibly well into March, which is a clear signal that it's the Sussexes taking advantage of Kate's absence to draw attention to themselves because Kate isn't there to steal their headlines.

And that it was a whole week of Sussex PR is not unusual either. It's their usual pattern when they have something big they want to promote and dominate the news with. It's cyclical at this point: first is a reminder of their royal status (Harry flying to Charles's bedside), then it's a reminder of their celebrity status (the Super Bowl appearance), then it's a big announcement (Sussex website), culminating in a set of public engagements/appearances (Invictus Games) with media attention. And to keep the attention coming, they drop breadcrumbs about the royal family to look like they're still "in," which buys them a few extra days of coverage because Charles falls for the bait every time.

The more interesting bit of timing in all of this is the Netflix article. Netflix wouldn't randomly give comments like this, so something must have happened behind the scenes for them to be pushed to this particular breaking point. I feel like perhaps the Sussexes may be trying to renegotiate their deals - maybe they asked for more money or maybe Meghan is trying to get more out of this 'Meet Me at the Lake' production than was agreed - and this is Netflix making it clear that it's over and done. I also have a niggling feeling that it might be connected to the upcoming film awards (BAFTA Film Awards tomorrow, Oscars on March 10th) - maybe they're trying to score tickets to parties using Netflix's name?

Are they really going to come back? Will Charles let them work again?

Analytically, the evidence points to 'no.' The trial balloon failed quickly faster than any other I've seen recently, which is and isn't surprising. It's surprising how quickly Charles backtracked since it had his implicit endorsement. It's not surprising that Charles pulled it down - he's as thin-skinned as Harry and Meghan both are when it comes to criticism.

But it's also more than just the trial balloon. It's everything else.

Charles wants them back on the family side. That's always been pretty clear. I think he waffles on having them back on the "work" side: on the one hand, the BRF needs the help since 10 of The Queen's 14 working royals are elderly (all 5 Kents, the 2 Gloucesters, Charles and Camilla, and Anne) and 2 of the remaining 4 are dealing with a signficant health issue and are temporarily out of commission - in the business sense, this is unsustainable and untenable succession planning. But on the other hand, no one wants Harry and Meghan back, for a litany of reasons including how much shit they've talked about the family (collectively and individually), the petty PR games they play for attention, and the Sussexes' general toxicity. And by 'no one,' I mean family members, courtiers/staff, others in the aristocracy (not getting invites to the Grosvenor wedding is a huge reflection of what "their kind" thinks of teh Sussexes), and the at-large general public.

Charles probably has entertained the idea of half in/half out now that he's in charge and the Sussexes are now lovebombing him (vs in 2020 when they were lovebombing The Queen) but his biggest opposition is public support - it took Charles 30 years and 4 significant deaths (Diana, Queen Mother, Philip, and her own forthcoming death) to get The Queen's support for Camilla to become 'Queen Camilla and, in turn, the public's support or the public's indifference.

Charles doesn't have that kind of time to get the institutional and public support to bring Harry back. He's got 10 years at best, which is now handicapped by a cancer diagnosis.

Beyond that, he doesn't even have Harry and Meghan's cooperation the same way he had Camilla's cooperation. Camilla cooperated with a 10-year wait to be liked well enough that no one would object to her marrying Charles. Camilla then cooperated with a further 17-year wait to be liked well enough that the institution would support her becoming Queen.

Can Harry and Meghan wait that long? No. They can't. They couldn't wait an extra year to get engaged. They couldn't wait to have their first child. They couldn't wait out the criticism from Fall 2018. They couldn't wait out the criticism from Summer 2019. Harry couldn't wait for the phone-hacking settlement. When they want something, they want it now. They buy completed projects and slap their branding on it vs. developing their own programs.

Can Harry and Meghan cooperate with anyone? No. They can't. They couldn't cooperate with William and Kate on the Royal Foundation. They couldn't cooperate with the courtiers for Archie's birth. They couldn't cooperate with the family on Megxit. They couldn't cooperate with the rota for tour coverage. They need to be totally and fully in control of absolutely everything. Their idea of cooperation is 'I tell you what to do, you do it.'

And because they're too impatient and because they refuse to cooperate, there's no way they'll support a 10-years long PR drive for Charles to rehabilitate their public image and get William's support. Heck, they can't even last a 3-month media rebrand. Charles knows that, which I suspect is why he may be trying to fast-track it but 1) when has fast-tracking something ever gone well for the BRF and 2) William is the linchpin holding it all together. Charles can't do anything without William's support. Yes, William is that powerful now - the public does pay attention to what he and Kate signal and the public would support them more than they would support Charles. Charles can't risk losing William's favor any more than he already has.

The third reason stopping Charles from taking Harry and Meghan back as working royals is Camilla and that Harry doesn't want her involved. He admitted it last week when he didn't contradict her leak about it. IMO, this reveals Harry's hand: he wants to position himself (or Meghan and himself) as Camilla's alternate, the way Charles often stood in as Philip's alternate. They want Camilla to retire so they can take her place in prestige, wealth, and attention. It's the only way they can "be better" than William and Kate, and they probably think it's how they can get "more" in the inheritance than William. Unfortunately for them, Camilla is Charles's line in the sand so no way will Charles let that happen after he spent 30 years getting Camilla to be able to sit next to him, and on top of all that, Camilla herself didn't wait 30 years to be Queen just for a pair of narcisstic glassbowl shitheads to usurp her at the last second.

That's the "working royal" side of it.

When you look at the "family" side of it, we know that Charles is more accepting of allowing the Sussexes back as family members, albeit with two strict rules:

No Meghan

No royal work

We know these are Charles's rules because it's already been communicated to us, most especially in the events around the Queen's funeral and his own coronation.

We also know these are Charles's' terms because Harry is publicly fighting against them this week, which suggests that these may have been reiterated (or relitgated, perhaps) during the <15-minute visit on February 7th.

"We all finally have the same surname for the first time as a family" and "maybe I'll become an American' is Harry's way of telling Charles and the courtiers that all four of them are a package deal and they all move together (like Archie's salt and pepper shakers). Meaning that if Charles wants Harry back, Charles must also take Meghan, Archie, and Lili too.

The Vancouver trip being such a royal rip-off is Harry's way of demanding royal work. His position is that he and Meghan must have the exact same lifestyle now that they had back in 2018: a palace residence, glamorous patronages, military honors, gushy praising media coverage, carriage processions, and equal precedence to the entire Wales family.

All this to illustrate that the dividing line is over the work aspect.

On one side is everyone saying "no, they can't work, they're just family." On the other side is Harry and Meghan saying "we're not just family, we're also working royals." And Charles is there smack in the middle saying "don't make my last years miserable" begging someone to give in. It's clear that Charles hopes it will be the institution (i.e. William) that gives in so he can fast-track the rehabilitation.

So no, I don't think Charles and the Sussexes will succeed in being part-time working royals. I think we'll see a lot of negotiating in the coming weeks and months (like Sussex demands for Trooping) and it may get loud and it may look frighteningly real, but that's only because William and Kate are on leave from work and their absence lets Harry and Meghan play offense. Once the Waleses are working again, or a new picture of Kate is released (I'm still hedging my bets for something celebrating Mother's Day next month), the Sussexes go back to playing on defense, and playing poorly.

We only need to worry if William, Kate, and Camilla appear to be changing their minds. They represent "the institution" to Charles, as well as public support (William) and establishment media (Camilla). William continues to tell everyone he isn't speaking to Harry. Kate's body language at the Windsor Walkabout keeps resurfacing. Camilla has leaked that Harry doesn't want to see her when he visits Charles and that she doesn't support the Sussexes coming back. There's nothing to worry about for now.

OKAY, I think I'm done for now.

@electrozeistyking and I a little while ago talked about how GD!N would react to DAS!Cyn. They went on about in a reblog but basically he would be extremely happy bc DAS!Cyn is a separate entity to the Absolute Solver, therefore meaning she's not the one behind everything.

So at first they probably both would be extremely happy. DAS!Cyn in her own AU upon meeting N first is absolutely terrified that he might hate her after everything the AS made her do. So the fact GD!N would react very positively to her presence would be a huge a relief to her.

Now, the issue is that the "Dormant" in "Dormant" Absolute Solver is in quotations for a reason. It simply lost interest in her as a main host / had no need for her anymore. It still has admin rights over DAS!Cyn and she still has a Solver Form. Though she doesn't use it by choice bc of PTSD triggers (until possibly a specific point in Ep7 but I'm waiting for ep8 to decide).

So yeah I think that would make both GD!N and DAS!Cyn kinda anxious to put it lightly.

Well funny story.

DAS!Cyn always was comforted by her brothers core back at the manor, when they first reuite at the start of Ep6 and she sees DAS!Uzi summon her Solver wings and tail, her instinct is pressing closer to DAS!Ns chest for comfort. Her memories of the Solver features are very very blurry, but she is triggered by seeing them regardless.

I thought It was cute the girls have that in common, so I decided to draw them and GD!N sleeping with the girls having their heads close to his core :3

The first two are based on Zeisty saying GD!N would probably pick DAS!Cyn up and spin her around. Also you probably noticed between this doodle, the first drawing & the Tiny!N & DAS crossover post, but DAS!Cyn displays flowers on her visor to emote happiness!

The 3rd and 4th are just random interactions between the kiddos lol. I feel like Beanie probably would be happy to have another Auntie, not to mention one closer to her age so they can do silly kid stuff together. DAS!Cyn... oh boy

She would feel a whole range of emotions; grief about missing so much of her brothers life (like he has a kid ffs), guilt and self blame after finding out what happened to Uzi (she blames herself for everything the AS caused, even tho she never agreed to it) which might end up in a "slight" breakdown, anger at the AS for causing GD!N that kind of pain and eventually once she processed all those emotions she probably would be excited to get to know Beanie. Like!! Imagine finding out you have a little Niece!!

She probably would struggle to easily keep up with Beanie bc she still has motor issues like in canonverse so she's a little slower, so it'd be mostly her trying not to fall over her own feet whilst being dragged around by an excited toddler who probably even with child lock is stronger than her lmao.

Also I drew DAS!Cyn in an alternate outfit bc I wanted to actually kinda show the oil reserve canister,,,

Yeah, DAS!Cyn kinda didn't take it well either when she first realized the AS technically can still take over if it really wanted to after she transferred bodies in an attempt to escape. Damn that's not fair the kid nearly fucking died trying to break free!!!

DAS!Cyn definitely would want to spare Beanie the horrors too. DAS!Cyn herself is mentally like 7-10/11 at best 6-9 at worst -- despite kids usually just saying whatever comes to mind, she repressed most AS related stuff for a reason, she definitely wouldn't share what she knows with her newfound niece

I feel things would be either super great and happy or super traumatizing depending on when in the timeline we throw DAS!Cyn at them. If she's there during ep 6-7? Oh boy. Oh no. DAS!Cyn & DAS!N have an exchange during Ep7 that would not go over so well if it was GD!N in DAS!Ns place, because it would be awfully similar to GD!Uzis death -- she doesn't die, because DAS!N can't get himself to shoot with her being so close to the AS, despite her literally shouting at him to do it and that she won't be angry, that'll be fine. -- yeah I don't think GD!N would handle that well 😭 Zeisty feel free to get the angst train rolling if you wanna add your two cents on how that'd go over -- any point before that? Probably fine. Post S1? I'd imagine also fine depending on what Ep8 throws at us (except like... look at ideas list for more info*)

I'll assume that'd be Beanie reacting to seeing DAS!Cyn having the Solver tail and possibly the glitching Solver symbol in her visor. Yeah she definitely would try to play it off and go try and hide somewhere until she can get it under control again. High stress or negative emotions causes her Solver to act up (unrelated to the AS, just her own Solver form without the entity controlling anything!!) So what I said above to her reaction to the news of GD!Uzi being dead? And possibly finding out the reason why? Yeah that might trigger her tail and wings to pop out and her to basically be reduced to a hyperventilating ball on the floor because of proceeding to blame herself for all of GD!Ns suffering due to thinking the AS actions & it being a danger are her fault

Other things I kinda wanted to doodle but didn't for now, might do at a later point;

Cyn still has a Solver Core, which is the same as a DD core (except smaller lol). So I was playing with the idea of Beanie noticing that her core sounds different from GD!Ns due to hers being severely damaged and actively leaking after the AS attempted to crush it during the body transfer. DAS!Cyn then trying to play it off

Some kind of acknowledgement of the Oil reserve canister on DAS!Cyns back, it was made by Tessa before the AS did the medurder and stuff. It's supposed to help keep the Solver in check by preventing overheating, hence why its directly connected to her chest where her core is

There was something else but it slipped my mind

Smth I'm not gonna say publicly for now until Zeisty posts something about it and/or eventually posts the chapters bc I don't want to spoil esp not bc it isn't my place to :" (if you're curious, Zeisty, lmk I can tell you in VC or DMs lol) but it partly would possibly be related to the 1st idea listed

* I have an idea for what happens to Cyns original body (the one the AS uses & that wears Tessa) post Ep8 IF Ep8 let's me do it that is. Idk why but I feel the need to rant about trolls band together so here's a warning for SPOILERS.

TL;DR I'll be talking shit about major conflict parts in the movie that I wished were handled differently >:((((

Please take caution (and a deep breath) reading this because I'm very bad at making sense when I ramble ok? Ok les go

OK SO.

The movie was great, loved the songs and I enjoyed branches family shenanigans, including supportive girlfriend poppy I've been WAITING FOR THIS (ifykyk)

But here are some things that bothered me that they could've definitely done differently

1. JOHN DORYS ENTIRE CHARACTER ARC- jd is great. He's actually my favorite! He's a cringefail boyfailiure and I love him for it. In the movie, his whole thing was that he was basically an ass who didn't listen to his siblings and always pressured and bossed them around. Cool, that's established. What's not is, Why??? It's really the whole "perfect family harmony" thing I guess.

Because later in the conflict he says that it was "hard being responsible for four younger siblings" (which bitch me too were litteraly the same) and that all they needed to be was perfect. what I don't understand is why? Why the whole perfect harmony? Where did it come from? They didn't say it was a big thing or that other bands did it? Would it get them more fame? Would it mean that they're perceived as the perfect brothers or something?? Also, why wasn't the grandmother more involved with the kids?? Did she pressure him to care for his siblings because their parents weren't involved or something? That's just one thing that's not really explained to me ig 🤔

And the whole thing that bothers me with jd is that he doesn't do the cliché "branch I'm sorry I was an asshole brother, and I wanna be a better troll to you and our bros. And blah blah blah" like they skip that entire potential jd apology??? I was expecting that with a hug?? I WANTED A HUG WITH BRANCH AND JD OK. He genuinely cares about him!!! You can see it, he really does. He's just bad at communicating. Like extremely - so they skipped that and just made him go, "We'll follow ur lead branch," and that's it.😐 no apology. No proper character development. Just him going "ok yeah I'll follow u one time." LIKE HUH. (This also includes the other siblings cuz they dipped on branch the same, and none of them said sorry!!)

OH and another thing. WHY WERE CLAY AND BRUCE SUCH ASSHOLES TO JD. ESPECIALLY CLAY. like I completely get it, he was an asshole, he pressured and bossed you around, we know that. But that was 20 PLUS YEARS AGO??? Like no you don't have to hug him but damn why r yall so cold???

I'm thinking that because I'm p sure they went no contact at all after they broke up. So how r they so sure he's still the way he was before?? (I mean they were kinda right but still) like you could've been super happy and then get disappointed later when trying to practice hitting the note. It would've made more sense to me idk. Like it just bothers me that they straight up ignore him- it's mean! (But I can't be too mad I mean they all have their reasons ig 🙄)

While we're on the topic of the family, on to my next point.

2. ROSIEPUFF AND HER DEATH. I think it was handled HORRIBLY. Like the whole movie I was just like "plz don't skip over it plz don't skip over it." And then branch drops the bomb on them right (which still caught me off guard like damn) and THEYRE DUMBFOUNDED, GREAT. And then after that there's NOTHING. NOTHING!?!??!?!?!? they don't mention it they don't apologize to branch for what he went through they don't take two seconds to mourn her they're just like "wait she dead?" And then fucking move on like. Why???? they don't question how, they don't question when branch was living in solidarity for 20 years, nothing. and I'm mad as fuck because that was part of Branches entire CHARACTER ARC in the first movie!! They don't mention he was gray they don't mention he didn't sing they don't mention anything. He went through that for 20 YEARS, ALONE. and they don't mention it. I rlly hated that- like they rlly didn't care.

Anyway.

Third smaller topic that I thought was gonna happen

3. I thought clay was gonna end up going, "actually yknow what, I AM fun" and then embrace himself because hes most definitely goofy. But nah they left him trying so hard to convince himself he's serious, and tbh he just came across as branch 2.0.

Alright moving on!!

4. I'm mad they didn't include a little flashback of viva and poppy being inseparable until the escape happened. Like I know popps was an infant but at the same time troll kids talk the day they're born, so it would've been nice to see them be together at least once before they separated.

Also.

I WANNA DECK PEPPY IN THE FACE. you lost your daughter and instead of MOURNING her and spreading her memory you decided to act like she didn't EXIST. WHY. like he was obviously depressed and sad but why didn't you tell poppy stories of her when she was a kid or something? And keep her memory alive??

(And sure. There's the thing with "They weren't gonna give poppy a sister until now" but I feel like they could've at least made poppy remember a small flashback is what I'm saying.)

Idk. I just wish it was handled differently like why is peppy keeping so much shit to himself lmao.

Anyway, yeah! I think this is just what mainly bothers me about the movie. I just feel like the conflict was handled poorly. But either than that it's still a good watch. I like it a lot :D

Autumn was looking at Andre and his wife like she was about to kill someone with the lyrics.

Andre and his wife have both been wearing masks long before the pandemic. Andre was selling a lie, a fantasy he thought she wanted and she wanted to believe it instead of unveiling the man behind. Why did Andre wait all these years before being honest about his reasons for marrying his wife?

I loved the scene with Lil Murda in the fragmented glass and removing his gold teeth. It was an unveiling of his mask. We see the different men that make up Lil' Murda, the scared, the fearless, the famous, the one looking for validation and more. And he can choose which one to present at any given time.

And the variations of his memories flashing through his mind from his pride when he came to the Pynk to the first time he heard his song being played there and his entire journey to where he was now performing in the Pynk.

I remember when Keyshawn was helping him with overcoming his stage fright and told him to try performing nude and he was uncomfortable initially in season 1 episode 7.

"The same way you strip yourself naked on that track, you gotta strip yourself naked on the stage. See the crowd, that's who you are rapping to — now tell em' what you got to say."

But now, look who was performing shirtless and could look into the eyes of his audience saying the lyrics with confidence, no beat in the background. I love that scene because it really shows how he has evolved from the insecure rapper who wanted his beats to be good enough and now that they're slapping, he could just let the lyrics sink in even though that was also a testament of what he did and a threat to whom it may concern (Maine) in the audience.

And the whole scene came full circle with a collabo of the Mercedes Experience (the last show) and Lil' Murda when you remember their initial meeting of her disapproval to his bars to their reflection last episode and bringing that collaboration to life. They sure is fire!

The moment the beat dropped and Mercedes jumped down the pole straight to sitting and bouncing on the floor, damn!

I loved The Mayor Bishop Woodbine reveal. The way the scenes were edited, the montages from the performance at the club to Mayor Woodbine in some serious prayer sessions to Andre Watkins recieving a call from Wayne Kyle saying congratulations making it seem Andre won until we hear the reporter asking if he has heard from the Mayor Elect.

When Mayor Bishop Woodbine was doing environment inspection of the mayor's office and fell off the chair I was dying laughing.

I also loved the reveal of the Corbin deal with the front page news of the waterfront property deal coming to fruition. Corbin sure brought the water to him literally after all, he followed Uncle Clifford's advice. Uncle Clifford I see what you did there boo!

Keyshawn and Lil Murda hugging with the sunset lighting up their beautiful black skin under the clear blue skies. They've been through so much together. I wish she could have made it out. There was no investigation whatsoever. What happened to due process? So neighbors report a noise and automatically it's the black mom that's the abuser? Sigh... Derrick's got to go!

Someone needed to call out Autumn on all her shit. While she didn't force anyone to catch a body, still it was like she completely absolved herself and blamed them. Talking about interest after all them bodies, okay just one body but still.

I understand she ain't trusting, and she has a lot of trauma she is working through. I got where she was coming from business wise in regards to selling the club but as Uncle Clifford said, they was family and Pynk was home. I wish they could have come to a compromise though because I care about her character. You know what they say, hurting people hurt others. And say what you will, she made and took practical steps to help Keyshawn

Mayor Bishop finally did one thing right, handing Terricka over to Mercedes. It was fitting to see Mercedes finally in her gym and her baby with Sam Cooke Bring it on home to me. It was a breath of fresh air. Freedom at last! Old dreams were fulfilled and birthed the opportunity to dream new dreams.

Uncle Clifford letting Mercedes go reminds me of this quote.

Sadly, in this finale, some people got their dreams and some didn't.

Request: saw a post regarding this and now i can't get this out of my mind: how about a teen!cousin sister!reader x ag!peter parker fic where she's may and ben's daughter so they're basically raised together and one day she finds out about him being spidey and then starts helping him out with little stuff (like making silly excuses for his absence at home and patching him up)?

Summary: Y/N helps Peter keep his secret identity.

Y/N was the closest thing that Peter had to a sibling. She was only four years old when Peter's parents left, only two years younger than him. Even before he had to move in with them, they were still very close and each other's best friends.

After Peter's parents disappeared and he permanently moved in, they ended up growing closer and they did practically everything together. They were there for each other through all of the hard times.

When Ben died, it destroyed both of them. For the first few days, they comforted each other, but after that Peter started getting distant and he was almost never home.

Currently, Y/N is lying on Peter's bed, her hair hanging off the end of it. She's on her phone, waiting for him to get home, though she doesn't really expect him to get back.

The window opens and Y/N looks over, watching as Spider-Man climbs in the window. Her eyes widen and her jaw drops as she watches him come through the window. Spider-Man drops to his feet and takes the mask off only to reveal Peter making Y/N's eyes practically pop out of her socket.

"Oh, my God!" She yells, sitting up. Peter jumps about a foot in the air, finally noticing her.

"Y/N." Peter says heavily. "He-- uh, hey. What's, uh... what's up, sis-cuz?" He awkwardly laughs.

"You're Spider-Man!" Y/N gasps.

"What?!" Peter's voice raises a few octaves. "I-- no. No, no, I... I'm not."

"Then what the hell are you wearing?" Y/N asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Uh..." Peter looks down at the suit. "Um... I... school play?"

"You go to a science school, genius." Y/N remarks.

"Uh... well, what the hell are you doing in my room anyway?" Peter asks, locking his bedroom door.

"You promised we'd watch Harry Potter, remember? And despite you not keeping a single promise the past couple of weeks, I was still holding out a little hope." Y/N explains.

"Okay. Right. We can watch it now." Peter says.

"Oh, who cares about wizard children right now. You're Spider-Man." Y/N states.

"Okay, okay, fine! Yes! I am Spider-Man!" Peter hisses.

"What the hell?" Y/N asks.

"I-- it's a long story." Peter says.

"What, because I'm so busy?" Y/N scoffs.

"Look, you... you can't tell anybody. All right, nobody. Not a single soul. Not even Aunt May." Peter says.

"You want me to lie to my mom?" Y/N asks.

"Like you've never lied to her before?" Peter retorts, knowing full well that she has.

"Well, yeah, on my own accord." Y/N says. "Why can't I tell anybody?" Y/N asks.

"Because then they know who it is, and I... I don't want that. Who knows what kind of attention or-or danger that could bring." Peter says.

"Danger to who?" Y/N asks.

"Me. Us." Peter says.

"When did this happen?" Y/N asks.

"I... I might've snuck into Oscorp one day... trying to find stuff out about my parents. I snuck into a lab that had genetically altered spiders and one kind of, you know, bit me. And I woke up and could do stuff."

"When did you decide to start using the powers?" Y/N asks. "Once you learned how to control them, at least. Assuming you didn't have instant control."

"Look, can we just talk about this later? I don't... I'm not in the mood." Peter says.

"Oh, come on. I just found out you've been Spider-Man, you're gonna make me lie to everybody, you've been keeping this secret and God knows how many more from me, and you want me to let it go?"

"Okay, okay. After... after Uncle Ben, I... I started to look for the robber who-- who, you know..." He doesn't really want to say it.

"Who killed my father, yeah." Y/N forces a pained smile. "Go on."

"I... and I started trying to find the one that did it. And at some point I made the suit and-and the web shooters and I became Spider-Man and... well, I'm still looking for the robber, but I'm also now Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Fighting crime. With no true identity."

"You know my dad wasn't your fault, right?" Y/N asks.

"He was out looking for me, so--"

"Pete..."

"Rather it was my fault or not, I'm finding the guy that killed him, okay?!" Peter snaps.

"You're also putting yourself in danger. Especially going after the guy." Y/N argues.

"Well, you and Aunt May were pretty broken up that night. I can't... I can't just let him live with it." Peter says.

"You're gonna kill him?" Y/N asks.

"I'll probably just turn him in." Peter says.

"You're a dumbass." Y/N says.

"Just promise me you won't tell anybody." Peter pleads.

"Fine. I promise." Y/N says.

"Pinky." Peter holds his pinky out.

"Really?" She asks.

"You're the one who started it." Peter counters. Y/N rolls her eyes, but links her pinky with his. "Just don't die on me, please."

"I won't." Peter assures. "So... Harry Potter?"

"No. No, uh... I think I'm just gonna... stay in my room tonight. See you tomorrow... or whenever." Y/N says, unlocking the door and leaving.

A few days later, Peter gets home from school, immediately greeted by May.

"Where were you last night?" She asks.

"Wha-- where was I?" Peter asks.

"Yes. Yes, where were you?" May repeats the question.

"I, um... I, uh--"

"He was up on the roof. You know, how we always used to sneak up there as kids." Y/N says, quickly walking up.

"Right. Right. Yeah... yeah, I was... I was there." Peter nods.

"Wha-- why?" May asks.

"He got too hot in his room. And he lost track of time and fell asleep." Y/N says.

"I-- just don't do it again." May says.

"Got it." Peter says.

May looks between the two before just sighing and leaving, shaking her head muttering under her breath.

"The roof?" Peter mumbles.

"What, because it's too much of a lie? We used to do that all the time." Y/N says.

"Yeah, but... still, really?" Peter asks.

"Come on." Y/N grabs his arm, dragging him to his room. Y/N shuts and locks the door. "Okay, so I've been thinking and I'm gonna help you."

"help me with what?" Peter asks.

"Being Spider-Man." Y/n says.

"What?" Peter chuckles.

"Yeah." Y/N nods.

"No. No, no. I'm... you don't have any, you know, powers or anything." Peter says. "And I'm not taking you straight into danger."

"Not like that. Just like... you know, I can lie for you. Make up excuses when mom asks where you are. Or-or help you with injuries. Surely, you get hurt... which makes me feel worse about this whole Spider-Man thing, but, uh, you know. Or if you need help figuring something out."

"I can make my own excuses." Peter says.

"Yeah, but you suck at them." Y/N says.

"Wha-- no I don't." Peter frowns.

"You told mom you were fixing my bike one time." Y/N says.

"Yeah, and?" Peter asks, not seeing the issue.

"I haven't had a bike since I was twelve." Y/N says.

"I thought it was good." Peter mumbles.

"Yeah, maybe if I still had a bike." Y/N says. "Oh! And I can help you make more web fluid shooting things."

"You're failing science." Peter reminds.

"Because you have no time to help me and the tutors at my school are assholes." Y/N retorts. "And fine, not that, but everything else."

"Y/N..." Peter sighs.

"Oh, come on. I wouldn't even have to leave my room for any of it. It's like... like I'm your, uh... oh! Your girl in the chair." Y/N grins.

"Girl in the chair?" Peter echoes.

"Yeah!" Y/N nods.

"Okay, if it's... just stuff like that... which can be done from inside the house... then, fine." Peter agrees making Y/N grin.

As time went on, Y/N continued to make up excuses for why Peter wouldn't be somewhere, but always making sure they were excuses that didn't sound dangerous. She helped him with whatever injuries he got, quickly becoming skilled in the patching up process.

Y/N is sitting in her room and staring at her science homework with the most confused expression on her face.

"Y/N? Honey?" Her mother knocks on the door before opening it. "Sweetie, do you know where Peter is?"

"Oh, he's, um... he's... I wanted some ice cream. So I made him go get it." Y/N says.

"You made him get it?" May asks.

"Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I am a teenage girl in the 21st century. It's... it's dangerous out there. He offered, as well." Y/N says.

"Oh... okay. Just... let me know when he gets back. I'll be in my room." May says.

"Got it." Y/N nods, smiling at her mom. May softly smiles at her before leaving, shutting the door behind her.

"That one was actually pretty good." Y/N mutters.

A few minutes later, there's a knock on Y/N's window. She looks over, finding Peter in his Spider-Man suit, but she can see his face, able to spot the multiple cuts on his face.

"Oh, my God!" She exclaims, rushing to the window. She unlocks it, pushing it open. "What the hell happened to your face?" She asks as he climbs in.

"Nice to see you, too." Peter sarcastically smiles.

"Your chest is bleeding." Y/N points out.

"Yeah. Yeah, I know." Peter says.

"Y/N?" They hear May call out. "Honey, you all right?"

"Yes!" Y/N yells, rushing to the door. Peter hides in the closet as the door starts to open, Y/N quickly getting there, stopping her mom from opening it any further. "Yeah. Yes. I'm... I'm great."

"Why were you yelling?" May asks.

"Oh, I was just... I finally understood something in science." Y/N says.

"Oh. That's great, darling." May smiles.

"Yep." Y/N smiles.

"Okay. Keep it up." May says.

"Will do." Y/N says, watching her mom walk off. She sighs, shutting the door and putting a chair in front of it to block it. She turns to Peter who walks out of the closet.

"That might be your stupidest lie yet." Peter teases.

"You know, disinfectant stings. And I'm gonna be the one holding it." Y/N says.

"Sorry." Peter quickly says.

"Yeah." Y/N nods. "Bed." Peter sits on her bed and Y/N gets the first aid kit out of her desk. Y/N grabs her desk chair and puts it in front of Peter and sits on it. She puts the kit next to him and starts cleaning up the injuries on his face. She finishes with his face.

"Okay... take the top part of your suit off." Y/N orders.

"What?" Peter asks.

"I need to clean the wound on your chest. Unless you'd like to continue bleeding." Y/N says.

"I... it'll heal soon. What's the point?" Peter says.

"Pete, I'm your cousin, I've seen you shirtless before." Y/N says. "it's not a big deal."

"Fine." Peter grumbles, taking the top part of his suit off, letting it fall onto the bed. Y/N starts to clean the cut, Peter hissing in pain at the disinfectant. He squirms a little in discomfort.

"Stop being a baby." Y/N chides. Peter quietly mocks her. Y/N presses the cloth with disinfectant harder on his chest, making him let out a quiet cry of pain.

"Ow! God, Y/N. Jesus!" He whispers, pushing her hand away.

"I warned you to watch what you say." Y/N says. She continues to clean his wound.

"I have a question." Peter says.

"What?" Y/N asks.

"Why do you do this?" Peter asks.

"Do what?" Y/N asks.

"Help me." Peter says.

"Why would I not?" Y/N asks.

"You just didn't seem... you know, super supportive of the whole thing." Peter says.

"Well... I figured if you're gonna be brave and stupid, I'd be stupid with you." Y/N says.

"Cool." Peter mumbles. "You're brave, too."

"Well, I'm not the one fighting crime, am I?" Y/N retorts.

"Yeah, but you don't have to be... you know, a cop or-or another sort of crime fighter or something to be brave." Peter says.

"Well, thanks." Y/N mumbles. "There. Done."

"Thank you." Peter tells her.

"Help me with science homework?" Y/N hopefully asks.

"Fine." Peter lightly rolls his eyes.

Peter went to change into pajamas while Y/N sits back at her desk and puts the first aid kit up. Peter soon returns and grabs a chair, sitting next to her.

"What do you not get?" Peter asks.

Allie nooo, 3 hours isn't enough, I should know! 😭 You better sleep better tonight!! I finally got 7 hours last night and it's so different not feeling like I'm dying immediately after waking up lol.

I thought it was normal that Chan had been following Y/n's account but he was blocked? 🤔 They were dating before and Bai even assumed he saw the photos until he reminded her he was blocked (which meant even Bai assumed Chan was still following Y/n). You also mentioned it before that only Chan and Y/n followed Bai on ig but she followed everyone, so I assumed it meant everyone else also followed each other (including Chan and Y/n).

You better not go the A.Ham route, he was too busy for his own life and DIED (arguably in part because of his writing) lmao. Maybe pick up other chiller hobbies so you can rotate between writing and other stuff so you don't burn out but you're still doing something?? That's what happened with me and assembling lego/mini block plants and flowers. I made so much in my spare time when I just had to do something that I ended up giving a bunch a gifts to friends, family, and coworkers, and my room is still full of them 😅

I will get some sleep tonight! I promise. If I go to sleep now though I'm waking up at 3 so I'm waiting until it's a bit later, lol. I just forgot that they asked me to come into work today as a favor at 7. Normally when I worked Saturdays (I decided that I deserve a weekend and took Saturdays off of my availability) I would go in at 9 so I would have gotten at least 5 hours if I remembered.

I think Bai knows that Chan would follow Y/n or at the very least stalk her account bc he feels the need to [REDACTED]. But also Bai was being two faced and showed him the pictures anyway despite him telling her no. I also forgot to mention this but Hyunjin, being the true ride or die for Y/n that he is, also has Chan blocked (I literally couldn't remember if I had him follow Chan but I just double checked).

More fun lore: Hyunjin immediately blocked and dropped Chan after everything. Y/n followed him until he posted a picture of him and Bair and decided that enough was enough, but she did mute Bai as soon as everything happened. Ji and Bin still follow and talk to everyone from the other group but choose to stick by Chan. Same goes for Innie and Minnie but they're on Y/n's side. They're mad at Chan too (more on at soon). Minho didn't want to choose sides, opting to be Switzerland most of the time, but he doesn't approve of what Chan did so he mostly only interacts with the main group.

Oh yeah, I definitely don't look up to A.Ham as a role model, lol. I do have other hobbies! I game, draw, learn languages, and read a lot. I've had a really rough 7 months and writing has been helping me the most (not to trauma dump on the internet to a total stranger but let's just say that one of the story lines for one of my posts was directly pulled from that). Gaming hurts my hands and eyes after a while. Drawing will mess with my wrist, which I learned the hard way after drawing for 6 hours straight one day. And I read too fast so I'm constantly out of books. I also did legos and I have so many around my room, I have no more space for them 😭

Daisy Jones & The Six - An Honest Review

As an avid follower of Reese's Book Club, when Daisy Jones & The Six was announced as the March '19 pick, I was intrigued. I'm always down for a fictional band to follow and fall in love with. If you've seen it, you'll understand why That Thing You Do! holds a very special place in my heart. So when I read that Taylor Jenkins Reid's latest book was inspired by Fleetwood Mac, that was all I needed to be hooked in and ready to invite The Six into my groupie scrapbook.

After another read-through of the book, and diving into the series the moment it dropped, I have a few thoughts to share.

I noticed a few comments on the Hello Sunshine IG page about the format of the paperback being hard to engage with. So I bought the audiobook before the original print version.

I feel it works better as an audiobook - after all, it's an oral history of the band. And I have to give major credit to the voice acting - it was a fun listen, with Jennifer Beals giving Daisy (inevitably) a Stevie Nicks rasp. But Miss Nicks she is not.

Daisy Jones is a precocious, headstrong character whose groovy chick persona gets lost in being repeatedly defined by her red hair and 'stunning big blue eyes - dark, cobalt blue'. No wonder she wants to break out of the box everyone puts her in. In true rock 'n' roll style, she goes off the rails, spiraling into a destructively hedonistic lifestyle with the unstoppable force of a tornado. In the Amazon Prime adaptation, the foundations are laid, but it looks like they're building something entirely different.

A review of the series by Collider calls it 'serviceable as a decent binge for people who get off on reading about how much Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham hated each other[...]' and I have to agree.

From book to screen, the journey back to the 70s is loosely translated. Sure, there are a few references to the Whiskey and the Plaster Casters in TJR's book, giving us just enough of a glimpse into the groupie scene - but this isn't the inner circle. Daisy exists on the fringe of it all, desperate to be one of the It Girls. The first episode's cinematography and costume choices are clearly influenced by Pamela Des Barres' memoir and Almost Famous, with a little bit of Ali McGraw Love Story styling for Camila Morrone thrown in for good measure.

But it falls short in a few places. For starters, the talking heads feel a little disjointed. They're supposed to take place 20 years later, yet the clothes look a little too modern. They haven't aged enough. Although, I have to say Timothy Olyphant is serving some Cougs (John Cougar Mellencamp, for the uninitiated) realness in those later interviews.

When spliced in between the main body of the story, we see nothing of the individual recollections of the characters. It's one singular objective truth. Perhaps that's the nature of the adaptations that get churned out by streaming platforms - keep it simple. Because in terms of storytelling, simplicity equates to watchable, binge-worthy television.

The story of a rock band is always anything but simple.

Maybe we'll see a little more complexity in future episodes. The story so far unfolds slowly, with only a few memorable lines. Tightening the dialogue seems to have been a slight challenge for the writers - at times it feels a little contrived. When you're working with original material that's almost entirely comprised of dialogue, it should lend itself to the screen almost verbatim with relative ease. The changes to the plot seem to have been made in order to accommodate the 10 episode format. As a result, it dulls a little of its glam rock shine.

That being said, props to Hello Sunshine and Amazon for including TJR in the writing process. It gives me a little more faith in the show, just as it did with the production company's previous hits Big Little Lies (still waiting on that third season!) and Little Fires Everywhere.

Amazon's Daisy Jones & The Six may not be as engaging as the book, but I'm still along for the ride.

But on Simone’s most recent post only Jonny commented. It makes me sad to think she was even a bit isolated on that cast. Also C gets hyped up from Hollywood Indians and not just on her desi posts but they’re silent for Simone-these are the people that should have her back

Hey anon, thanks for waiting! It's been an exciting weekend but also a lot of incredibly heavy stuff has come up and I realised I was pretty mentally exhausted. I still am to be honest so I apologise for not delivering on my usual essays and am going to keep this fairly shorter than my usual asks!

So first off I want to direct you to this post of mine because it's the same tone I want to take with this ask. That I hear you and its okay to be upset. It really does seem unfair.

That being said, I have said time and time again I really do not like pitting these two women. [Ik you aren't doing that anon but just constantly comparing them can get tiring and like you said its sad to see!]

Yes, while I disagree with CC's Bridgerton opinions and how she has conducted herself on her solo press tour, I still do enjoy her as an actress and am looking forward to her next project! However, since her Bridgerton press has made me uncomfortable and view her in a less than great light *to me*, I have created a boundary not to engage in any of her press tours or interviews in the future. And hopefully no one will send me asks about it anymore because the interviews won't be for Bridgerton!

Anyways all that said, and while we are talking about personal boundaries with yourself: my advice to everyone who does keep checking these things (which I understand can be addictive and you want to see our girl supported but not at the expense of your own mental health!) is to set that boundary not to check. I never check these things, hell I don't even read or watch press and my peace of mind has been better for it! The only time I hear about this is from anons on here or, one or two friends who happen to notice these things sometimes.

If you all choose to do this, great I'm happy for you to have more peace of mind in an already chaotic fandom with drama every day ahahah. Now, its time to reflect on how this behaviour from the cast is not on us or Simone. It's a reflection of the cast and it's their own damn problem. It's none of our business and they're just showing themselves, to be honest. [We can't even use the algorithm excuse to brush them off anymore, it takes less than 5 seconds to search up Simone's name and drop a like/comment. But whatever, their devices, their choices. I do not care anymore.]

We LOVE our girl, like/comment on her IG and hype her up enough and she knows and sees all of them. I think we can also take comfort in the fact that Simone probably does not care for these things (who in the cast is commenting or liking) and knows her worth so we shouldn't care too imo! We get back a lot of our power and control over how we feel when we just choose not to care honestly.

All that matters is our favourite IG grandpa got so excited he commented twice on our ViscountYES's post!!

Dude I just finished watching Black Panther Wakanda Forever and I am going to share my freshly baked scattered thoughts with any unlucky onlookers that might pass by.

First and foremost.. Oh my god. That end fight scene. I couldn't tell who I wanted on top of me more. I mean. Like, Shuri and Namor were beating the shit out of eachother which isn't ideal but can they like beat the shit out of me?

With the previous point being made, I think its notable that Namor/Kukulkan's thunder thighs had me in a chokehold the whole movie. This is important information to the plot.

On a more serious tone, I wish they would've displayed more political conflict within the movie and elders. I feel like given how much their politics were involved with the previous movie, we should've seen more conflict. I mean like, Shuri basically dropped down from the sky at one point and decided to declare war on Talokan and with the exception of whats-his-name, everyone seemed pretty damn chill with it. You'd think that after the last guy they'd show some resistance. But I suppose that would take up too much screen time? Idk man I feel like that was one of my biggest qualms with the realism of the writing.

Personally I don't have a problem with it, but my brother is like rlly upset and feels like it was poor writing to put Riri in an Ironman like suit. I actually liked it. I liked how they introduced the idea of her wearing a suit like that WITH Ironman actually. When we saw the suit in the garage, I can't remember if it was mentioned that Riri took inspiration from Stark or not, but I feel like it was implied bc of the studies she had been doing on Stark tech. And I think that was so cool to throw in there! It makes sense for a second generation of heroes to be inspired and making their own suits and stuff out of the previous Avengers. Think about all the scenes and headcannons we used to see of Thor or smth waving to a little girl on the bus. Those kids are going to start being the next generation of heroes so I'm really excited to see how Marvel incorporates the inspiration factor. Think like Peter Parker interning for Stark, I can't wait to see some other young hero who is just like oddly obsessed with Banner or smth bc they had a Hulk Stretch Armstrong toy or smth when they were six.

The costume design!! Oh God! Loved it!! I'm kind of a nerd for Art History and as many know, Hollywood usually does not get it right. I'll admit, I had high standards for Marvel on this one because they did so good with the first Black Panther design of masks and materials used for costuming, incorporating bits and pieces from other various individual African or Sub Saharan art styles, even researching into color meaning and representation. And I was overjoyed to see that Marvel had met my standard in the design of mourning garments and masks among other details. Not to mention the research done into hair styles and material use when they designed the Talokans (Talokanians? Idk dude I can't remember.) I also loved the war headdress Namor addressed everyone with, and I'm infinitely more glad that he didn't wear it into battle. I do think that given the Mayan roots of Talokan, the place they had Namor standing over did look uncannily like the Aztec Templo Mayor but yknow it still looked cool ig. Anyways. Kudos to Marvel, they're clearly doing their research and have an Art Historian somewhere on the team. I really can't wait to see what they do next keeping up the good work.

"rise and shine, y/n!" you hear an annoying voice sing just as the lights flickered on. you grumbled something inaudible, hiding underneath your blanket to shield yourself from the brightness that steve just brought upon your room.

"y/n/n, come on. wakey-wakey!" you groan, feeling super unmotivated to train today. you even felt like punching steve in his perfect-looking face just for waking you up at the crack ass of dawn. this was unusual because you loved jogs before the sun came up and trainings before it hit noon.

"steve, if you don't shut the hell up right now, i'm gonna push you into that lake beside our usual jogging route."

"jeez, y/n, woke up on the wrong side or what?" he teases, finally leaving once he saw you were already sitting up. you groggily walked to the bathroom to wash your face and brush your teeth before changing into your workout clothes.

"no!" you whine when you saw that you were on your period. that's why you were in a crappy mood when steve woke you up. you begrudgingly dressed up after putting on a pad, grabbing a small towel on the way out.

like you did every morning, you were gonna go on a run with steve, bucky and sam. while you loved running, you hated how steve and bucky "cheated" —as you and sam liked to call it— with their super soldier staminas. that was why you loved having sam there. not only was he great company but he was also moral support because you two would always be hilariously overtook by steve and bucky multiple times. but that didn't matter because you two would always be completely immersed in your conversations every time.

but not today though. you already knew today was going to be different. you had gotten a bad start to the day with steve's and your usual morning routine which somehow annoyed you this one time. and having to run around with your cramps definitely didn't help lighten your mood.

"kid, you okay?" sam asks from your right side. you'd been silent throughout the whole run and sam knew something was up when you didn't laugh at his jokes like how you usually would. "just cramps. they're hurting a lot so i'm probably gonna skip training today." you explain and he slowed down his pace causing you to slow down too since you always had to run side by side.

"y/n/n, you should probably stop now if you're having cramps. it might make it worse—i think? i don't know, actually. i don't know how periods work but i know cramps hurt a lot so i think you should stop. yeah, you should stop." his rambling speech made you feel a bit better now knowing he wants you to take care of yourself. "you know what? yeah, i think i'm gonna go. sorry i have to leave you with the two cheaters."

he smiled at you, telling you not to worry about it. you were touched and your mood significantly brightened but before you could reply him, rhythmic footsteps echoed from a distance from behind you two and you knew what was coming.

"on your left."

before steve and bucky could just pass by peacefully like they did the past nine times, you managed to throw a punch to steve's side, effectively slowing him down when he stumbled and then completely stopped. "what gives, y/n?!" bucky then stopped too, wanting to know what was up.

"that's for this morning." you glared at him and he looked at you in confusion, holding onto his side where you punched him. though you were significantly smaller than he was—than any of them were, really—, you could definitely throw a punch. speaking of punch, you gave him another on his other side and he flinched, giving you an incredulous look, one that resembled betrayal.

"and that's for being a cheater." you narrowed your eyes at him. "oN yOuR LeFt." you mocked him, rolling your eyes before ultimately leaving the trio to walk back to the tower. they looked at your fading figure and exchanged looks with each other in confusion. "what...what just happened?"

"y/n's on her period so we gotta be careful with her." sam explained and steve being steve, his cheeks tinted slight pink as the thought slightly embarrassed him.

"period? you mean the niagra falls of blood," bucky states, taking a long sip out his water bottle. sam rolled his eyes at this but nodded anyways. "also, she doesn't want training today so unless any of you have a death wish, don't call her down for anything other than for food, got it?"

"yes, sir."

"got it."

"you do it,"

"i don't want to, you do it."

"can one of you just do it? why don't you guys want to wake y/n up?" nat stopped bucky and steve's little argument as she turned away from the stove for a bit. "you two love waking her up and carrying her down to eat. what happened?"

"womanhood happened," steve mumbled bitterly, rubbing his sides where you hit him this morning. apparently you had hit him hard enough to bruise a little. nat rolled her eyes in realisation. "period?"

"no, no, not period. satan's montly ritual inside of y/n. you should've seen her this morning, nat. it was like she was possessed!" steve exaggerates. "okay, let's not be dramatic here," bucky rolls his eyes at his best friend. steve only looked at him with fear in his eyes and bucky sighs. "fine, i'll do it. but if i don't return, tell sam he still can't have my snacks. no one can have my snacks."

nat only shakes her head before turning back to the stove to finish cooking lunch.

meanwhile, bucky was making his way up to your room. deep down he was scared to face you after your episode in the morning. "y/n/n? doll, it's lunch." he spoke when he entered your room. he melted when he saw you all snuggled up in bed, asleep, hugging your life-sized teddy bear that tony gifted you last christmas.

"doll? time to eat," he whispered, gently shaking you awake. you slowly opened your eyes to see bucky sitting on your bed, trying to wake you up from your nap. "what time is it?" you asked, rubbing your eyes, your lips jutting out subconsciously. bucky internally cooed at how adorable you looked. "it's afternoon, you skipped breakfast so nat wants you to eat lunch." he tells you.

"tell her i'm sleepy," you said, adjusting yourself back under the blanket. "y/n/n, you gotta eat. nat's gonna kill me if i go back down there without you." he shakes you again and you look up at him with you doe eyes. "then don't go back down. cuddle me, jamesie!" you pouted, giving him your best sad puppy look.

he had a brief internal battle with himself before losing and giving in, slipping next to you and hugging you, providing you warmth that even your blanket couldn't provide. bucky knew nat would have his head but how could he say no to that adorable face? and you using his real name? ultimate weakness.

soon, you were back asleep, cuddling up to him. he smiled down at you, loving how peaceful you seemed when you were sleeping. and before he knew it, he too fell asleep.

"what's taking him so long?" nat huffed and steve's jaw dropped slightly, looking at her in worry. "who's telling sam he can't have bucky's snacks?"

"don't be ridiculous, steve. go get them or i'm telling sam he can't have your snacks too." steve sighs, getting up from the barstool and making his way up to your room.

safe to say he was expecting pretty much anything but the sight of you and bucky asleep, cuddled up to each other. steve's lips jutted out and he cooed at you both. he snapped a quick picture before approaching you two, sitting on your bed beside your sleeping figure.

"y/n/n? sweetie, you need to eat." he says softly as he shook you awake. the shaking seemed to wake bucky up too and when your eyes fluttered open, steve smiled down at you. "bubba? it's lunch," he looks over at bucky in disappointment for having fallen asleep when he had a task. bucky only shrugs his shoulders as if saying 'hey man, i had no choice'.

"stevie?" you groaned out and he smiled. "come on, let's go have lunch, nat is waiting downstairs." he tries to get you to sit up but you resist. "come sleep, stevie," you pulled the same trick you did with bucky and it's no surprise the blond super-soldier fell for it too. everyone had a soft spot for you.

steve laid next to you and you're then sandwiched between two super-soldiers, already falling back asleep in just seconds.

"you know nat's gonna kill us, right buck?"

"then let her try. we can use y/n/n to get out of it. i mean, can you even recall the last time anyone said no to that adorable face?"

"sam says no to her sometimes."

"yeah but he always ends up feeling bad so,"

"okay yeah, you're right."

"that's exactly why we're stuck in this situation, right dear ol' stevie? so i say we just sleep and if nat tries to scold us, we'll technically be under y/n/n's protection because nat won't scream in our faces in front of her."

"good call. night, buck."

"night, steve."

"i can't believe i sent two super-soldier idiots to go wake up y/n on her period. i didn't think they meant it literally when they were afraid they weren't gonna come back." nat paces around the kitchen and wanda watches in amusement. it had been almost a whole hour since bucky was sent to get you and thirty minutes since steve was sent to do so too and both men hadn't returned with you for lunch.

"do you really think y/n/n is having a temper tantrum or something and those idiots are caught in the middle of it?" nat asks and wanda shook her head. "i doubt. y/n can get a little cranky but only if provoked. y/n on her period is overall a sweetheart like she always is. maybe steve was being annoying this morning. i mean, he always is annoying during morning jogs because he always has to announce when he overtakes us." wanda rolls her eyes at the fact.

"okay, you know what? come with me to get them. i mean with our joint forces, there's no way we're going to get sucked into whatever those idiots did. let's go,"

nat didn't give the younger woman a chance to reply before she's storming upstairs to your room and wanda had no choice but to rush along.

"well? are we going to wake them up or what?" wanda asks nat, not taking her eyes off the adorable sight she was met with right as she entered your room.

"i want to get mad at steve and bucky for not waking her up because she hasn't eaten yet but somehow i can't." nat states, looking like she's having an existential crisis.

"well, no lunch for these three, i guess. they better have dinner though or i'm actually going to get mad. let's go, wands." nat closes your door, but not before snapping a pic of you three cuddled up and sending it to the group chat.

"look who finally decided to show." you hear tony tease when you finally came down to dinner.

after waking up an hour prior, you woke up the two super-soldiers sandwiching you by pushing them off your bed. they couldn't even be mad at you when you had burst out in contagious laughter at your own stunt, before leaving to let you wash up.

"how are you feeling, sweetie?" bruce asks you as you sat in between him and tony on the dining table. "i'm good, bruce, why do you ask?"

"we've been hearin' a lot about you today, cupcake." tony winks at you before continuing to eat his food. you pout at him. "bad things?"

"no, no, no, not bad things, never bad things. you're the sweetest little cupcake and everyone loves you. now eat your food," tony pretends to make an angry face at you and you listen to him, smiling as you do so.

after dinner, you decided to lounge in the common room for a bit to watch tv and thor, clint, wanda and sam decide to join you.

"what are we watching?" sam asks as he plops down next to you on the couch. "i don't know, i'm kinda in the mood to watch my little pony." you quipped happily. "my little pony? that stupid ponies cartoon where the purple unicorn has magic and becomes a princess?"

"it's not stupid," you muttered under your breath, suddenly getting upset that he thought my little pony was stupid. "if you guys don't want to watch, i guess we can watch whatever you want." you told the rest who were already seated, a sad expression on your face.

"bubs! of course we want to watch it! right, sam?" wanda glares at sam as she asked him through gritted teeth. "y–yes! yes, we'll watch my little pony!" he replies quickly. "okay!" you cheer, leaning back against the couch as you turned the show on.

after an episode was done, you seemed to have gotten the others hooked on it because they asked for another episode. well, except for sam because he decided one episode was enough and it was time to sleep so he left.

"okay," you giggled, happy that they liked the show. "but i'm going to go get my snacks first." you walked to the kitchen to quickly get your bag of pretzels from the pantry. you were pretty sure it was the period moodswings that were causing your emotions to be all over the place because you cried. you cried because you were so excited to go get your snacks, only to find that it had been stolen.

you trudged back into the living room with a tear-stained face and wanda immediately stands up. "bubs, what's wrong?" she held both your shoulders as she looked down at you. you hiccup. "i'll kill him," clint stands up, hands held out in a fighting stance. "how dare he steal y/n/n's snacks." wanda rolls her eyes at his antics and gives him a look that tells him to back down.

"lady y/n," thor calls from his spot on the couch. you turn to him. "i have a stash of poptarts if you want?" he offered and as kind as his intentions were, you only wanted your pretzel sticks. you dropped down to the floor, staring silently into nothing.

"y/n," clint places a hand on your shoulder, trying to get you to get up but you didn't. you looked up at him with a small pout and glossy eyes and he cracked. "alright, thor, come with me to the grocery store. we're getting y/n/n's snacks,"

thor immediately gets up, following clint out the door. you couldn't believe that the avengers' own archer and god of thunder were willing to go out just to buy you snacks.

twenty minutes later, they came back with bags of different snacks but most importantly, your pretzel sticks. you ran to them, giving them the biggest hug you could give, prompting chuckles and hair ruffles from them. "anything for you, kiddo."

despite having just gotten your snack, you fell asleep ten minutes into the next episode and thor goes to carry you back to your room. he sets you down gently on your bed, pulling your blanket up so that you were warm.

"sleep well, lady y/n." he kisses the side of your head before leaving. and sleep well you did because you had an awesome family take care of you.

I’ m sorry… CHRISHELL WHAT NOW?? please tell me everything

oh my god, okay. So on Friday, Netflix dropped the reunion for season 5. And I was like a kid on Christmas morning, I got up early to watch it before work because they'd never done a reunion before.

I follow Chrishell on Instagram so I knew she had said she was nervous going into filming the reunion and then that the experience was really draining. But Christine didn't go to the reunion, no FaceTime appearance even, so I had wondered what was so draining because Christine brings the drama. When they got to the part of the episode where they talked about the Chrishell/Jason breakup, it was clearly very emotional – Jason AND Brett cried, okay? So I thought, oh, duh, of course that was nerve-wracking and draining.

BUT THEN.

wait, let me back up. Around the beginning of April, I think, Chrishell posted a slideshow of photos to her IG feed with a caption about being grateful for the people in the pics. I saw this photo:

and I was like, wow that's hot, but I figured there was no way it was anything. But someone commented something like "fell in love with an emo girl" and Chrishell REPLIED and said that should have been the caption!!!! Then I saw a TikTok about whether or not they were dating and points were made! but I just kind of figured I'm not that lucky, that will never happen.

So Tan France from Queer Eye was the host and he asked Chrishell if she was dating anyone. And she was kind of flustered and then I realized she seemed really nervous.

And he pushed her a little, which I guess because he knew she had something she was planning to say, and she said she'd been spending time with someone who is very important to her, their name is G Flip, and they're non binary so they use them/them pronouns.

I'm assuming if you know who Chrishell is, you know that Selling Sunset is not exactly a queer space, yeah? I could be wrong but I don't think there's been any LGBTQ+ representation really. I was so floored and elated, like good for her!!!!!!!!!! I felt for her a lot in that moment, because she must have known that there was no guarantee that people were going to understand or be accepting and she shared her truth anyway. (And just as a side note, a lot of people thought the Jason relationship was fake for PR, so that must have been on her mind too, are people going to think this is fake? which must be so fucking hard) And she said that she's still figuring things out, this is all very new to her, but she's drawn to people's energy and she's really happy right now.

in the afternoon, she posted to her IG story and it was like an update on how the renovation of her closet is going and I was like come on, really Chrishell, BUT THEN. She was like "so yeah, this is the closet and I'm going to come out of it now"
