THE CHASE

This is the story I was hinting at. I promised this a long time ago, I have no idea if anyone is even interested in this story anymore or with all the new people they have any idea who or what this it but- here’s some angsty lore

I also haven’t written in months so please don’t judge lol

Pixie was having some trouble, they didn’t know what was up with Blue. She had been acting weird all week. Blue mostly stayed locked up in her room and avoided Pixie at all costs. Which was very weird because Blue would normally drag Pixie to the nest every night to sleep. But Pixie hadn’t even seen Blue in days. They where worried about her.

See Pixie and Blue got along great, hell they where married. But Pixie had never seen Blue act so distant. Like she was hiding from them. And it scared then a bit. What if Blue regretted saving them? Or finally got sick of them? Everyone else in Pixies life had left them. So of course Pixie was scared Blue would do the same.

So Pixie decided enough was enough. They made some food and went up to the room Blue had been hiding in. They would figure out what was wrong. No matter what it was even if Blue said she never wanted to see Pixie again, they wanted a answer.

“Hey, can you let me in?” Pixie asked knocking on the door. There was no answer.

“You know I’ll pick the lock open, just open it. Please.” They begged. Still no answer.

Now Pixie was really worried. Was Blue ok? Did she get hurt? Or was she really sick? Blue had a habit of hiding her pain from Pixie. Pixie set the food down and picked the lock with some pins.

Slowly they opened the door. It was dark, the windows where covered with thick curtains. They stepped in looking for Blue. Pixie tripped over something. They looked down and saw it was broken wood, from the bed. As Pixie’s eyes adjusted to the darkness they realized everything was destroyed.

Pixie gasped looking around the room. The mattress was ripped to shreds and all furniture had been broken and thrown across the room. They had been hearing a lot of noise coming from in the room, but Pixie hadn’t imagined this. And they still didn’t see Blue.

“H-hello? Blue? Are you ok?” They called out now getting nervous. What had happened to cause Blue to do all this damage?

Pixie felt all the hair on their body stand up as they felt something behind them. They wiped around to see Blue crouched there. Even crouched over Blue was still a little taller. Pixie meet Blues eyes and they knew that Blue wasn’t in there. Blues normally calm red eyes now glowed a blood red.

“B-Blue?” Pixie stuttered as they backed away slowly to the door. Whatever was happening that wasn’t their wife right now.

Blue crept forward growling as Pixie backed away. Pixie had never felt threatened by Blue before. Even with the hight difference and Blues more predatory features. But now? Yeah Pixie was terrified.

Pixie saw that Blue was about to jump them, so before Blue could they ran. Pixie ran down the stairs and out of the cottage they lived in with Blue. Pixie could hear Blue running after them. They didn’t dare turn back to see.

Pixie ran into the woods because there was no where else to go. As Pixie ducked through the trees running they realized this was not a good place to get hunted. Pixie hadn’t lived in the woods for as long as Blue. So they had no idea where they where going, this was Blues territory now.

Pixie couldn’t stop though. There was no way they could fight Blue. And Pixie couldn’t out run Blue ether. They panted breathing heavy from all the running and adrenaline. The trees and thorns scraped their skin but they kept running.

Pixie couldn’t run much more they had to try and hid. But as Pixie was looking for a place to hide they forgot to look where they where running. Pixie cried out as they fell down a steep hill. Pixie rolled all the way down hitting their head on a rock. They laid there as the bottom stunned and out of breath.

As Pixie blinked open their eyes and they saw Blue creeping down the hill heading straight for them. Pixie groaned as they pushed themselves up. They stumbled away but Pixie was too dizzy to run. They fell back down watching as Blue came closer. Pixie didn’t know why Blue was hunting them, or what had happened. Because the Blue Pixie knew would never do this.

Pixie pushed themselves back up against a tree as Blue got even closer, she was at arms length now. Pixie felt tears run down their face feeling betrayed. Blue had saved them from their awful life and had been their only friend. Why Blue would suddenly attack them didn’t make any sense.

“Blue, p-please. Don’t do this! I don’t want to fight you.” Pixie begged. They couldn’t win a fight against Blue even when they played around. Pixie was hopelessly out matched.

Blue ether didn’t care or didn’t hear them, because the next thing Pixie knew was Blue was pouncing. Pixie screamed and threw up their arms to protect their face. Pixie cried out as a burning pain spread over their arm. Pixie tried to push Blue off but the taller was too strong. Blue pinned Pixie against the tree and bit into their shoulder. Pixie screamed in pain pushing more forcibly. Panicking Pixie scrambled and somehow kicked Blue off.

Pixie looked at their arm seeing three deep cuts wrapping around their arm. Blues claws has caused a lot of damage. They glanced at the bite on their shoulder that was dripping blood. It wasn’t as deep but it hurt. They held their arm close keeping pressure on the cuts trying to stop the bleeding. But there was already a lot of blood from both wounds.

Pixie looked back up at Blue meeting her eyes. And they had stopped glowing. Blue looked from Pixie to the blood on her hand and licking at the blood on her teeth. Blue seemed to put things together. Two terrified faces stared at the other. It seemed Blue and snapped out of whatever had taken over.

“Blue? Is that you?” They asked nervously.

“I- y-yeah…” Blue finally spoke.

“What happened?” Pixie asked still scared. They had just been chased into the middle of the woods. They couldn’t not be scared.

“It- you where supposed to stay away.” Blue said backing away.

“I hurt you…” She said looking at Pixies bleeding arm.

“It’s not that bad..” Pixie lied. They wanted to know what happened but Blue looked ready to run.

“No, I have to go. I-I can’t hurt you again.” And with that Blue turned and ran off into the woods.

“Blue!” Pixie screamed after her. But she was already gone.

And that was part one! Mostly because I don’t want to make this too long and there will be another part soon I promise. And again I have no idea if anyone remembers the lore but- this is how c!Pixie got their scars. This takes place only a few months after Pixie escaped the cult they lived in. I Wrote a 160k+ Word Explorers of Sky Fanfiction

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Paradoxical Light is a personal reimagining of Explorers of Sky making use of modern day Pokemon Lore, incorporating and exploring elements presented in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, featuring a number of divergences from the original story.

It's a culmination of all the hyperfixations and obsessions I've found myself gravitating towards over the last decade, so while it does mostly follow the events of the Explorers of Sky story, there are a number of different elements from outside sources included.

Let's go ahead and meet the main cast, shall we?~

Lexxi and Rickety!

Our Hero and Partner for the story! Lexxi, a human turned Pokemon with no memory of who she was before, and Rickety, a Riolu with a passion for exploring, neither of whom know they're about to become entangled in something far beyond anything they could've imagined.

Glyph and Pixie!

A robotic Grovyle from the distant future and a Celebi from the ancient past. What's a machine doing in the past? And what's such an ancient Pokemon from a time long gone doing in such a far-off future?

Different nonnie, but Liiri always looked like a cute but bland little nugget to me, so I totally get liking Ying Ying’s character design better. The red-and-yellow glowing color palette that all the Renlings have made it harder to appreciate square-on, so I’m glad you’re switching the colors up too.

Your full answer to that ask reminds me, concerning which of your Miraculous WIPs you’d want to use this three-tier Miraculous setup on, you could honestly just have the Wish made by someone using the canon Ladybug and Black Cat in any of the MULTIPLE in-show close calls up to this point and then just alter and/or rewind reality from there, because SCREW all the unnecessary changes, additions, and retcons that this show’s lore has pulled over the last five seasons. The Prodigious, Order of the Guardians, Native American Miraculous, Miraculous potions, time travel, and so on were obviously far too complex ideas for the ML crew to handle properly, and now they’ve decided to delve even further into the idea of alternate universes for the upcoming Miraculous Paris special on top of all of that, so forget it, might as well use the one still-useful canon-established setup of a Wish to clean it all up so you can use your new lineup in any idea you want. After Wish AU? An accidental dual-Wish is already built into the premise, with Adrien wanting things to be different and Marinette rejecting that, and you get to play with the PV world’s interesting plot setups, a main cast whose characters are slightly to-the-left in terms of personality and looks, and a Marinette who remembers everything contrasting an Adrien who remembers nothing. Off to Italy AU? Maybe it’s later in Season 4 or 5 where Marinette is just tired and she Wishes she had gotten the chance to be a hero with actual support and/or really live her life with trustworthy friends and family at the start of it all, with both the Miraculous powers and her grandmother’s availability to take her to live in Milan with her shifting accordingly. Fortune Favors the Brave AU? Maybe Alya swipes Chat Noir’s Miraculous in Hack-san during their brief introduction-tussle and has the “bright” idea of making the Wish to make herself the Ladybug hero from the beginning only to find that a) main hero life is a lot harder than it’s cracked up to be, b) she’s now one of the five most powerful instead of the two most powerful as Karma for making the Wish without considering others, pressing the importance of teamwork in this new life even more than in the old one, and c) her new kwami is understandably NOT happy about how Alya not only betrayed her former owner’s trust but also reset the universe’s established power balances due to her Wish being too broad. And these are just three examples off the top of my head. All this to say that you’ve been a wonderful part of the fandom even if you don’t interact with it as much anymore, and I don’t think you’ll have to worry too much about which idea to fit your new Miraculous system into when the time comes given your writing track record. With all the grief that the canon plot has given you and everyone else, it’s only fair that you get to use its built-in Deus ex machina to your advantage.

I'll say that chances are I wouldn't do an After Wish au for a lot of the ideas, cause most I want to work off starting off fresh and no one having any recollection of a previous timeline and acting like this is the norm.

Like, the Off to series would have this set up since "Lady Lion" would be a character for Off to Milan, and Pixie Girl or Butterfly Girl will have Mantis. And Off to London, Sebastian the waiter is planned to have Songbird.

So Off to series will either be splitting up the Bagua set or it'll be all randomized on where Miraculous are, and Fu only has a few.

But After Wish au could happen for some ideas, especially since I do like @nobodyfamousposts Lament ideas and their take on the Wish. How the new reality deals with you can depend on your actions, where fighting against the new setting and not liking the changes makes things worse for you, and how rough a set up you'll have can depend on how selfish or selfless a Wish is. It's a fun set up and scenario to think about.

And oh yeah, full agree with all the choices and directions the show went. I'm certain a lot of it came down to doing what other superhero studios were doing. Like Marvel is trying to get the multiverse going and DC dabbled in it with that Flash movie, so clearly ML has to do it too! Which, I will say, there is potential in playing with the multiverse. Back when the show just started, this was the show for aus. Any au you could think of existed. ML being a tv show and the cast are all actors, kwami swap au, inverse/pastel au that just swapped or changed up their colors, personality swaps, life swaps, reverse love square, enemies to lovers, rivals to lovers, ect..

So Ml could work off the multiverse and have fun with it, but that does require creativity and a passion for the show, which given their lazy or odd choices, you got to wonder how invested they are.

hello! okay as a teenage smiths fanatic(tm)/lifelong fan even i can't claim that morrissey/marr can beat john and paul in that department. once i got to learn about the basic details of their relationship something changed irrevocably in me and well. here i am (my personal beatles fandom history is very interesting btw. mostly because it took me until watching get back last year to get into the relationship dynamics even though i'd been a fan of the music for years lol. anyway) but yes the smiths! a brief summary: morrissey was a very isolated and insecure but also annoying and intellectual teenager who basically rotted inside his depressing manchester house for years until in his early 20s he met the brilliant guitar wizard&pixie johnny marr. together they realised that they are fucking GENIUSES and changed each other's lives and subsequently and more importantly mine.....i could go on but i honestly don't know how to answer this question without going into personal details. they were absolutely besotted with each other, their talent and like jp they kind of felt superior to the other members of the band at times. it was an incredibly messy divorce. they actually ended up in court (there are pictures). it looked like during the early 90s moz was eager to reunite but once his solo career took off and he became very successful (his early albums are i n c r e d i b l e ) that was no longer possible. but yeah long story short both of them are very much alive and seemingly well but they will NEVER reunite for a variety of reasons. we will always have the extremely beautiful songs morrissey wrote for his ex bestie/songwriting soulmate though ('i won't share you' u will always be famous)

Some thoughts about my Minecraft world's lore / aka: me rambling about worldbuilding into the aether (note: this is the lore for my MC YouTube series, the channels called PixPickle if you wanna see, but this is NOT my headcanon for all worlds. Purely mine.)

Hidden under a read more so this Long Post does not take up Too Much Space

The Overworld is not a peaceful, idyllic, safe place to live. This is obvious because of the monsters and the lava on the surface and the water that can kill you. However, it is the most hospitable place for Players, Passive and Friendly Creatures and Villagers.

There is a distinction between Players and Villagers, not just because Villagers are AI. Villagers are humans, people who live in, well, a village. Players are more shapeshifters, with more advanced thinking. This is an Idea I'm fleshing out still so if you're reading this and have ideas lmk!

Zombies and Zombie Villagers are also different species. Zombies are, and always have been, zombies. Zombie Villagers are villagers turned zombie (wow, who'd have thought!) (Such an original idea ik don't murder me I'm making a semi comprehensive list)

Ancient cities and Nether Portals. Oooh this is Fun. So in my world, c!Pixie (my character) is alone, a lone Player. But there are shipwrecks, ruined nether Portals, buried treasure, and the Ancient Cities. Plus, there are Explorer's Guides. Any other book written is by the Villagers, but not the Explorer's Guides. The Ancient Cities used to be filled with Players. They built... Everything. So why are they gone?

The Explorer's Guides are still relevant, as the world hasn't changed much. The mechanics of the world haven't, at least. Ancient Cities didn't used to be underground, and the skulk really hadn't invaded so much.

Onto my favourite bit of worldbuilding so far, The Nether. The portals aren't safe methods of transport, they're tears in reality. The larger a portal is, the more unstable it is (yes, this includes the weird portal in the ancient city). The larger a Nether portal, the more Nether creeps in. This only works for activated portals.

The Nether wasn't always red and corrupted. But, as time wore on, it became hostile to people from the Overworld, with Insane temperatures, both hot and cold (only in Soul Valleys). Likewise, the atmosphere is so different that the Overworld is hostile to Nether creatures.

Wither Skeletons are corrupted skellies, and Piglins & Hoglins are mutated pigs, with Piglins evolving first. Magma are slimes adapting to the hot environment, while blazes and ghasts evolved naturally.

Endermen. They are the only creature who can safely inhabit all 3 dimensions. (Second place is skellies who can safely inhabit 2 dimensions!). I dunno what to do about endermen lore-wise so. That's all for now.

The End!!! Strongholds were made by the Old Players in order to access the End dimension. Some people decided to move to the end, and created the Giant Cities and Boats. They evolved to be able to inhabit the End, but now they're gone and only the shulkers remain :( (shulkers evolved naturally, and were there before the End Players, only recently moved into the empty cities tho)

The dragon was an egg left to hatch in order to guard the End. Had the Old Players (inc. End Players) not disappeared, the Dragon would have been tamed to guard the End on their behalf.

C!Pixie has a basic knowledge of how things work, she's just stumbling around this crazy world they've found herself in. They're not really sure how she got here too, and neither am I (hope this helps)

Skulk!!! Is like the Nether!!! Both are corruption!!! Fun!!!

Except Skulk infects internally, so you don't notice it's infected until you cut it open and oh god it's dead, while Nether corruption is Very Visible on the outside (skulk blocks visible show Very Corrupted skulk things)

I haven't even got on to the topic of Wardens or Withers huh.

Wardens are skulk-corrupted Advanced Iron Golems. How much was the Old Players experimenting with Iron Golems to make a Very Powerful security system, and how much was the skulk? Ig we'll never know.

Soul sand. Skulk having souls in them. Those souls in the shriekers. All the same thing yep.

The Wither!!! I have no thoughts so come back to me later.

happy sunday, let's talk about the curators / m.asters of the b.azaar / kindred elders ! bc man there is SO MUCH to know about them when it comes to shipping / n.s.fw contexts.

for starters, it's important to know some of their like ... actual lore for their species / what they are as a society {in this case with my blog lore, they are vampires, but they ARE still vampires.... from space! so.} all curators are intersex{***} to some degree. most of them have both male/female binary sexual anatomy, the {***}exception being runts who are born on one strict side of the sex binary.

even then, their physicality doesn't define their gender identities, although it may influence it for each individual depending on their own sense of identity. the m.asters of the b.azaar and curators themselves view themselves as entirely genderless {the most common pronouns for their people are it/its, with occasional deviations, such as mr ca.ndles who, as a runt, identified more with male pronouns.}

that said, their concept of gender itself as humanity knows it is loose if not nonexistent. they have some preferences here and there {say, some prefer being referred to as a husband or just spouse over wife, or may present more masc over femme / vice versa, etc}, but mostly just simply do not care how people perceive them. {a great deal of london referred to the masters with he / him until time went on and they correctly fell into the habit of calling them it / its whilst the society changed with its new setting.}

sexually, most of the masters utilize every advantage they have in a physical sense for encounters, some being kinder than others, more dominant than others, etc, etc. whilst personality traits ofc vary depending on the individual, the curator species as a whole is......................... horny. like EGREGIOUSLY horny, like INSANELY multiple times a day multiple days a week just for funsies horny. 🤡 with very few exceptions, there are outright some masters who are incapable of forming a romantic relationship with individuals who AREN'T interested in sex bc it's such a huge, huge HUGE part of their bonding / relationship process.

there ARE exceptions, though, such as mr p.ages who, while still ^ in that category to some degree, is more entranced by the concept of romance and more than capable of finding alternatives with a partner who ISN'T interested in sex. pa.ges is, however, an outlier in its society.

they have near endless stamina compared to people of earth / the neath, additionally. they can go for an inhuman amount of time wrt sex and as such, often will prob have to stop at some point for their partner unless expressly permissed not to or if dealing w someone who can match that energy.

curators rly have no sense of shame, they don't view sex in a prudish light {*minus mr p.ages, who has a reputation for BEING a prude, which is ironic! bc it certainly is not! but it has a reputation to uphold you see :)} nor do they see any issue in exploring every potential sexual avenue. that said, they tend to adhere to their partner's boundaries bc they simply don't have any themselves (largely) {this assumes the presence of consent with moral partners, btw. common sense.}

things outside of this depend on the master themselves, ie / their personality during and how they interact with their partners / what kinds of things they're into {vei.ls is unhingedly rough / dominating / mind break-y, p.ages is a manic pixie fae nympho, virtues is outright religious blasphemy, wi.nes is a hopeless romantic, etc, etc, etc, so on, so forth.} but as a baseline, the masters are loudly sexual creatures, genderless, vampiric, extremely open-minded and liberal freaks (affectionate)

Arcane Review

Ok I know it’s been a while since the show came out but this has been on my mind recently so I wanted to get some thoughts out. 

Premise: 

Arcane is a tale of two cities, but more than that it’s a tale of two sisters. Violet and Powder (later called Vi and Jinx) were orphans in one of the many civil wars between Piltover, the shining city on the hill, and Zaun, its irradiated underbelly. Both sides of the city are technological marvels in their own right. We even see innovations in this technology when Violet and Powder steal from a young Piltover man, Jace, who seeks to combine technology with magic. The ensuing devastation leads both cities as well as both sisters into a new conflict with no clear heroes. 

Overview:

  Arcane is a beautifully animated series based on the League of Legends video game. Don’t worry if haven’t played the games, I haven’t either. And as expansive as the world of Runeterra is, Arcane made the smart decision to go deep instead of wide. Almost all the action takes place in the split city of Piltover/Zaun and the show serves as a prequel to their conflict that happens in the games. It only ever starts to mention one other location in the latter half of the show, which we gradually learn more about through a handful of secondary characters. 

There were very few times I actually felt like I had to look up background knowledge from the games to understand the show. Even then it was mostly cameo appearances or hints certain characters may not be who they seem. The vast majority of the lore is exposited through the character of Heimerdinger, a two foot tall furry immortal who helped found the city of Piltover. As strange as he is, it’s clear that Heimerdinger and his history is meant to be as distant to us as the audience he is to the other characters, making it easy for them to dismiss his council to ill effects. 

Characters:

The team behind Arcane instead decided to focus on a deep character-centric story and was able to balance fleshing out many familiar faces from the games as well as adding new ones that are central to the story. The focus characters are of course Vi and League of Legend’s flagship character, Jinx. Despite their popularity, their in-game lore was largely left open to interpretation. The fact that they’re sisters was only speculation before Arcane came out. Both also underwent overhauls to their designs and story. 

Jinx has been the go-to mascot of League of Legends since her creation in 2013. In that time she had largely been a one-note manic pixie nightmare girl who takes Harley Quinn-esque glee from her explosions and the other pranks we see her play around Piltover. Her official bio hints at some dark tragedy in her past that drove her mad, it’s not until Arcane that we see her mental illness treated with respect and tgravity, especially as we learn what the tragedy was that caused it. Yes she still does grow up to be the manic explosives expert we see in the games, but there’s a lot more beneath that which she tries to hide. To see the difference in her character look no further than the 2013 Music video “Get Jinxed” and compare it to the promo-video put up just before the release of Arcane, “Enemy” which features Imagine Dragons.

Obviously not every character from the games can make it in the show, even those native to Piltover/ Zaun. However almost every character who does make it in are amazing in their own right and I can’t go into them all. Vi is one of the simplest as the archetypal big sister who retains her “punch first, ask questions later attitude” from the games, but now must balance that out as she’s put into a buddy-cop romance with the well-born enforcer, Caitlyn. The scientists that the sisters stole from, Jace and Victor, mirror much of Vi’s and Jinx’s relationship as the application of their technology and Jace’s new-found fame also push them apart. The show also features several new characters such as Vander, Silco, and Mel; all of whom give us more insight into the political turmoil that dual city is in, while protecting their own more personal interests. 

A few minor characters do stand out as  weaknesses in the writing though only by comparison to how well-developed the other characters get. Another fan-favorite from the games, Ekko, gets very little exploration despite one of the best fight scenes in the show. There is also one clear incident of fridgeing in this show, which is a low point in otherwise seamless writing. A good number of mysteries are left unanswered and which I hope to see better down in season two. 

Art and Music 

The French studio, Fortiche, did an amazing job with this series. The stylized 3D animation blends quite well with the the limited 2D animation used for the many explosions and other effects, helping to give the series that comic book/ video game look. Piltover and Zaun and very visually distinctive with the former being bathed in sunlight in almost all the shots and covered in gold and royal blue. Zaun by contrast gets almost no natural light, so it is instead bathed in the artificial green or bisexual lighting that helps display the irradiated nature as well as contribute to the feeling of a shunned society looking up to heaven. 

Bisexual lighting is hugely important as it also matches the cotton-candy blue and pink hair colors of Vi and Jinx. Most notably, the main two novums of this world are also colored blue and pink. By the end of the series the pink-haired Vi relies on hex-tech power sources made in Piltover which are colored blue. Meanwhile the blue haired Jinx gets deeper and deeper invested in the Zaunite drug, Shimmer, which is colored pink. 

I’ve already pointed out the fantastic music video prepared by Imagine Dragons, but sound track has plenty of other bops as well. “Playground” is great backdrop to our introduction to Zaun that makes us see the protagonists’ love for it despite all it’s flaws. “Snake” is a wicked action scene that furthers the since of paranoia and betrayal central to the series, and “Misfit Toys” is a departure that nonetheless reinforces the alternate views and the plurality of the series. 

Final thoughts: 

Watch this show. I don’t care what you think of League of Legend or arcano-punk settings. It’s a unique and visibly distinct world with very real characters leading it. The art is beautiful and the team did an amazing job balancing the huge cast into a comprehensive and satisfying character work even if it does leave a lot unanswered. Just be prepared for the darker tone and reinterpretation of traditionally more light hearted characters. There’s a lot of places season two can go, whether if it’s continuing the Piltover Zaun conflict or bringing in the Noxus setting we learned about near the end of last season. There’s so many more stories to tell.

the tidbit of information i have to share about aem today is that i recently decided that ae end up spending a considerable chunk of time in the fae realm (against their will) as a pixie being babysat by another pixie named konce. for reasons idk if i have spoiled/want to spoil yet.

this idea started because i had a 'what if camilla was raised in the fae realm as a pixie' au. and then i figured out how to make some of those misadventures canon when i was plotting :))

camilla is the type of fae that can change their size (like they can be pixie-sized or human-sized, basically) and ae have golden butterfly wings as a pixie.

while i am on the fae realm train of thought, camilla wasn't raised in the fae realm. (also realm is a really loose term for it b/c the fae realm is just the area of astelle where the fae live, on the same plane as the 'mortal realm'.) she was swapped with a changeling at birth and stolen from the fae realm by an elf, her later adoptive father, riven alderbranch. the reasons for that a spoilers but justified so dw about it. (the swap w/ a changeling was intentionally ironic and a 'fuck you' to camilla's biological parent.)

anyway camilla in the fae realm is entertaining because it's an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar customs for her and it's fun to explore. also because i get to come up with lore about when fae come of age and pixie dust and pixies' attitudes toward insects (because they are literally insect-sized!).

Burdock

Coarse perennial herbs with large floppy leaves and purple flowers, widespread on waysides, rough pastures and waste ground throughout lowland Britain.  The characteristic stiff hooks on burdock’s flower buds, flowers and seedheads, were, in the 1950s, the inspiration for Velcro.

Local names contributed to Plant-lore Archive include:

Bardog [Lerwick, Shetland, March 1994] Beggar’s buttons in Dorset [Martinstown, May1991] Clingers [Thorncombe, Dorset, April 1991] Sticky buds [Martinstown, Dorset, May 1991]. Sticky willow [Glencruitten, Argyllshire, October 1990].

Folklore associated with burdock includes:

[Cornwall] ‘piskies’ or ‘pixies’ a race of fairies or ‘small people’ are said to amuse themselves at night by riding colts furiously around the fields and plaiting their manes, or tangling them with ‘Billy buttons’ [i.e. the burrs] of burdock [1].

As children in Essex we threw the burrs of burdock on to the backs of unsuspecting friends – if they stuck you had a sweetheart; if they fell off after a short while their affection would not be reciprocated.  I lived in the then countryside of Chigwell/Hainault area, but my children played the same game 20 years later at Witham, Essex [Yafforth, North Yorkshire, January 1990].

Burdock burrs are an essential decoration of the costume of the Burry Man who appears at South Queensferry, West Lothian, on the second Friday in August each year, when he ‘perambulates the town visiting the houses and receiving cheerful greeting and gifts of money from householders’ [2]. Burrs are collected in sacks the week before, dried and cleaned then assembled into square or rectangular patches each comprising around 500 burrs.  On the Bury Man’s Day, he starts dressing at 7 a.m., first putting on a set of long underwear and hood, then standing patiently while the patches are pressed on and individual burrs are carefully placed in sensitive areas, such as the oxters (armpits) and crotch.  It takes two hours until all the burrs, plus flowers at the shoulders, hips and knees and a flowery hat are in place.  Two men support the Burry Man, who walks slowly and stiffly around the town from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., able to see a little through peepholes in his face mask and drink through a straw, neat whisky being his traditional tipple [3].

Gypsies used burdock to prevent or cure rheumatism: Infusion of leaves or flowers, or better still of crushed seeds, relieves and will cure rheumatism …  Some gypsies carry the seeds in a little bag slung round the neck as a preventative of rheumatism [4]

There are rare records of burdock being eaten as a vegetable: I had a great-aunt who had done this in c.1895-1910 in the Chesham area of Buckinghamshire.  I have recollections of reading that burdock ‘greens’, which were unpleasantly glutinous, were one of the disadvantages of life in the workhouse [Union Mills, Isle of Man, February 1995].

anyways, the ocs i have currently compiled do not belong to any set fandom as of now and only exist as characters i may use for roleplays, lore building, practice, etc etc. i did use to have ocs belonging to fandoms but i've grown out of them since their creation and have since moved on to making my own original content <3

the ocs i did used to have in fandoms were most of the time cringey and embarrassing to look at; the memories i had with them weren't embarrassing however but anybody who makes ocs can mostly agree with me here when i say, old ocs... some— no. correction: most of them are bad. if not all of them. and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

moving on, i have no idea which oc to go first but i might as well just describe some of them in the simplest format possible to save everyone some time (disclaimer: most of them need therapy):

first off we have a zombie guy with amnesia who does stand-up comedy sometimes (he's like a sona-oc-whatever the fuck hybrid i draw sometimes. he's great. don't have a name for him yet but i just call him c for simplicity.)

a token white man vampire hottie (marshall) with daddy issues and an unchecked superiority complex he needs to work on. yes, i know he has the same name as marshall lee from adventure time, who did you think i based him off of?

the little mermaid's long lost australian danish sister (cecile/cecilia) but instead of daddy issues she has stepmommy problems! and... a manic pixie dream girl/"i can fix him" complex she needs to get checked on...

a literal god trapped in the body of a dorky highschool boy (blake) as punishment for being an absolute diva in heaven. i detest him very much (affectionately).
