There has been severe acid rain ravaging the world for roughly a week now. You’re a high level circuit trainer, but you’re out with the flu. Few days in, the rain comes to your region. You’re staying with your cousin, whom you’re very close with. They have gone out to find their Pokemon during the rain.
You go to find your cousin, only to find them fighting a Shadow Starmie alone. You can see where the acid has burned to the bone. It is not you who saves them, but their Reuniclus who saves you both.
Your cousin is in the hospital. They read and research things you know nothing about. It’s an old legend that catches their attention. A place beyond places, connected to a world of dreams. Their fascination makes you uneasy.
They have left the hospital. They say “escaped.” The hospital says “released.” Either way, you and your cousin go to your homes. They send pictures of pink jars. Some of them go to an acquaintance in Johto. They have a jar themselves.
You get texts and calls from your cousin. They’re alive, but in a place of complete solitude. You worry they will forget to eat. Their Pokemon seem unconcerned. Bizarre, you think, as you’ve seen their Reuniclus punch the Starmie through a cliff.
Then, there is a man at your door. He knocks thrice, almost exactly timed from each other. The man is tall, but not too tall and wearing all black. You let him in. Your Gallade does not. You talk in your doorway, your Pokemon crowding behind you. When the man tells you your cousin is dead, your Pokemon catch you.
You ask to see the proof. The man has a death certificate, but no body. Not yet, he says.
A day later, the man knocks again. You open the door. He tells you that you can see your cousin’s body. He tells you to come alone.
You go with the man, alone. He shows you the body. It is a woman, blue-gray lips defining her face. She is dark-haired and pale. She is short and fat and pretty. She lacks any scars on her face, along her jawline.
You leave. The man nods at you, understanding. You nod back.
The man leaves missing an eye and several teeth. You leave missing a cousin. You wonder if he understands what you do.
That’s how my whole godsdamn week has been!

[Image Description: Misty, the second Gym Leader of the Kanto-based Pokemon games, with her Starmie beside her. She is a young woman with light skin, orange hair in a side ponytail, and teal eyes. She is wearing a blue two-piece swimsuit with a grey Pokeball logo on the top, black wristbands with silver raindrop-shaped logos, and red and white shoes with black soles. She has a red and white Pokeball in her hand and is holding onto a red swim towel with a pale Pokeball logo that is slung over her shoulder. The Starmie is a purple star-shaped Pokemon with anoter purple star-shape attached to its back, a red octagonal gemstone core inlaid in gold on its front. The background is the central area of Cerulean Gym. Misty is standing on a platform in the center of a pool, with a blue athletic pedestal labeled "1" set up behind her. The floor outside the pool is a light bluish-grey, and the wall in the back is beige with brown circular windows that resemble portholes on a ship. End ID.]

“Hi, you're a new face! Only those Trainers who have a policy about Pokémon can turn pro. What is your approach when you catch and train Pokémon? My policy is an all out offensive with Water-type Pokémon!”
More Kanto Gym Leaders! ...Is it weird that I don't really remember how I feel about Misty in general? Like yeah, I got into Pokemon in the gen 1 days and therefore got to know Misty real well cuz I was watching the anime a lot in those days (it was what got me into Pokemon after all, as I assume was the case for a lot of kids), but I don't actually...remember how I felt about her. At least I know her battle's not too terribly difficult for my typical Kanto team, as I have a Pikachu by this point and my Squirtle-or-Wartortle will probably know Bite to give myself a second tactic against that Starmie hehe.

After replaying red and blue (skipped yellow because I didn't feel like it) and having played so many other rpgs and games in general, I can confidently say that they are fantastic games that hold up really well after 28(!) years.
---
Not without flaws obviously. Major glitches aside, there are some odd design choices. Crit rate being tied to speed means that high crit rate moves eventually crit every time (slash, razor leaf and karate chop, maybe something else?). Some pokemon have terrible movesets for the stats they have; thinking of Flareon or Rapidash with their high attack stat and they have nothing to use it with. Some other minor things that are not a big deal and other limitations of the time, such as the UI, lack of information, weird menu oddities and occasional visual bug.
BUT! The progression is excellent. Brock feels like the first challenge, as he should be. Geodude at 12 and Onix at 14 means that any pokemon you catch can't do effective damage due to being normal/poison moves. Your starter will be the one to do best there due to water/grass being effective and even Charmander with ember does decent damage. After that you have all the trainers before and during mt moon and before Misty you can go check Bill and do the second (or third) Gary fight. He's not really dangerous at that point and after that you get another batch of trainers.
At that point you can go Misty, SS Anne or go east for more trainers. There's a couple stand out battles so far: Rocket with Raticate at 16, a menace; Youngster with a Slowpoke at 17, confusion can hit hard; and some dude with a Magneton at 18(?) with thundershock. Those are foes with concerning STAB moves, but you get plenty of room for leveling and team building.
Dig is pretty strong and many pokemon can learn it. After Misty you get bubblebeam and after Surge thunderbolt. Strong moves that you could give to someone for STAB or type coverage.
Misty has Staryu at 18 and Starmie at 21. They both have water moves but at that point you can have a solid level advantage if you've skipped her for a bit. No great pokemon for type advantage other that Oddish/Bellsprout but it should be enough.
Surge has Voltorb at 21, Pikachu at 18 and Raichu at 24. Ground immunity is broken here due to low attack on Voltorb and Pikachu and Raichu's lack of nonelectrical attacks. Sonic boom is somewhat dangerous but not a big problem.
You could skip Surge and through dark cave (more trainers) into Lavender. More trainers west and then Celadon. You could go Erika or rocket hideout. Through all of this your team would be high 20s low 30s. Maybe you don't grind anything and your team is a bit lower. You also get Eevee and/or whatever prices in the game center: Abra, Clefairy, Dratini and Porygon on both and Nidorino/Nidorina and Pinsir/Scyther depending on version.
Erika's Victreebel and Vileplume are 29, Tangela is 24. You have lots of options here and I found her slightly too easy for this point in time.
You could go Saffron but Rockets block the gym and Silph buildings. After you get the Silph scope you can go pokemon tower, fourth Gary fight and eventually get the pokeflute that grants access to Fuchsia.
Once you can get past the Snorlaxes there are dozens of trainers to get levels on both sides, whether you go east, west or do both. Silph building is open now, with another bunch of rockets and the fifth Gary fight. You can do the Safari Zone for more pokemon (and strength/surf for progression).
This is the one point where it feels off for the first time. You get access to a lot of places but at the same time Gary's starter (40), Giovanni's Nidoqueen (41), Koga's Weezing (43) and Sabrina's Alakazam (43) are much higher level than Erika's aces. For the first time you must take some time to get levels before continuing. Before this point you could skip trainers and not grind and you would be roughly the same level as your opponents. Not the case anymore as the jump from 29 to low 40s is a bit too high.
I understand this to be intentional (might not be, unlikely) so the player takes the time to explore, battle and build their team before the "second" part of the game. If you don't take the time to level, once past Koga and Sabrina, Blaine's Arcanine and 47 and Giovanni's Rhydon at 50 will be too far ahead. One or two pokemon could almost catch up, but not your entire team.
Since after Koga you can surf, the whole map (except Victory Road and Cerulean Cave) is open now. You can go anywhere and (almost) complete your ideal team. If any of your new pokemon needs to be leveled you are going to spend a bit just grinding for the last gyms.
After that, the sixth Gary fight (levels 47/45/45/47/50/53) is not that big of a jump. All trainers in Victory Road have lower levels.
Then the elite 4: Lorelei (54/53/54/56/56), Bruno (53/55/55/56/58), Agatha (56/56/55/58/60) and Lance (58/56/56/60/62). It's balanced and gets higher without any huge jumps. For the final Gary fight (61/59/61/61/63/65) there's a tiny increase in levels but not too noticeable so far into the game.
---
There's a massive unbalance when it comes to types. Ghost, bug, rock and dragon have very few and weak moves. Psychic type is also immune to ghost due to a bug when it should be weak to it. Poison types are also the most used by trainers making ground/psychic moves extremely strong. Dig and earthquake can be taught, Cubone/Marowak get the other 2 damaging moves for ground; psychic can be taught, almost all psychic types and Butterfree, Venonat line and Psyduck line learn confusion.
The physical/special divide being tied to type also makes certain pokemon weaker or stronger than they should be. Repeating the previous example, Flareon or Rapidash having high attack makes STAB fire moves not benefit from it. Many fighting or normal pokemon having very low special stat makes them susceptible to fire/water/electric/grass/ice moves even without type disadvantage.
---
Despite all of these issues I think they are games worth playing, specially for younger people that might be familiar with newer titles or perhaps the remakes but didn't get to experience the originals.

the gen 1 monotype teams I was talking about a little while ago:
Although these were made with Gen 1 in mind (specifically, the movesets are gen 1), these could also be used in FRLG or LGPE.
POISON:
Venusaur - Leech Seed - Toxic - Growth - Solarbeam
Gengar - Confuse Ray - Psychic - Thunderbolt - Toxic
Tentacruel - Surf - Ice Beam - Mega Drain - Toxic
Nidoking - Fire Blast - Body Slam - Earthquake - Toxic
Golbat - Confuse Ray - Double Team - Wing Attack - Toxic
Arbok - Glare - Acid - Body Slam - Toxic
*Note that every one of them knows Toxic (TM06) (achievable in-game through item duplication)
*Venusaur can alternatively have Growth replaced with Double Team and Solar Beam replaced with Rest, if you're feeling daring & want to try and survive off Toxic Leech Seed alone. (I'm actually probably going to do that instead)
*Just noticed I didn't build a lot of HM coverage into this team. Well Nidoking could probably have Body Slam replaced with Strength or something if necessary, but there's not much else that can be done with the rest.
*Because of Arbok, this team can only be made in-game in Red. If necessary, it could probably be swapped with Grimer or Koffing, though.
*This is also the team I actually started a playthrough with several months ago. Because it's epic.
WATER:
Blastoise - Surf - Earthquake - Ice Beam - Body Slam
Lapras - Confuse Ray - Body Slam - Ice Beam - Mist
Kingler - Crabhammer - Stomp - Strength - Body Slam
Kabutops
Starmie
Poliwrath
*Not a lot of these are available early-game, I think the thought process was that with a water monotype it's easy enough to catch temporary teammates to switch out overtime
*Kingler's moveset is actually kinda messed up... 3 normal-type moves. But if I remember right I set it up like that because the poor thing has higher attack than special (meaning water-type moves are not a good fit for it)
GROUND:
Nidoqueen
Dugtrio
Rhydon
Sandslash
Marowak
Golem
*Nidoqueen fills the role of the "starter" here since it can be caught very early.
*Overall it's a delightful team. I kinda wanna start a playthrough with this one too...
NORMAL:
Raticate
Snorlax
Dodrio
Porygon
Clefable
Persian
*Raticate fills the role of the "starter" here.
*This particular team is made for Blue, since Persian is a version-exclusive
*Like with the water-type team, the relative abundance of normal-types means more accessible teammates could be caught and then switched out with the later game ones over time.
PSYCHIC:
Alakazam
Hypno
Exeggcutor
Slowbro
Jynx
Mr. Mime
*To note is that this team would probably be better in LGPE, due to the fact that you can actually catch Jynx and Mr. Mime (They're only available through in-game trades in Gen 1) and that it would give Mr. Mime the Fairy-type.
*Jynx is there for more type coverage, except I'm realizing I'm not actually sure what ice is supposed to cover (I guess it would make fighting Lance easier?)

@lvsamine (full post from here!!)
Tumblr media
"You may not have meant any harm," Lusamine retorts. "But 'exploring a rad place' without permission is intruding, sir. The conservation area is a safe space for Pokemon to recover from injuries and other trauma they experienced out in the wild, and unless you're a trained staff member, swimming there is strictly off-limits." Her voice is firm, and his carefree attitude didn't seem to be working on her.
"If you want to check it out so badly, you can come back with your wallet and pay for a tour, like everyone else. What made you think that swimming in the Pokemon reservation center without permission would be a good idea?"
Tumblr media
Marlon’s enthusiastic defense doesn’t seem to have worked--Lusamine holds steadfast, icy gaze boring into the Unovan visitor as her stern tone shuts him down. Oof...no dice, huh? Marlon can’t help but shiver slightly, as if the room temperature just dropped thirty degrees. It’s clear that the razor-sharp Aether President means serious business, and serious business has never been Marlon’s strong suit.
The Gym Leader senses the security guards shuffling behind him and clenches his fists with determination. No...his plea isn’t close to over yet!
“Nah, you gotta believe me on this one, Prez: I ended up in the conservation area by total accident, straight up!” he declares, jabbing a finger back towards the office doors. “Like I had said, I was keepin’ my head down, crushin’ a couple swim sprints, and then bang!” (Marlon claps his hands for emphasis.) “I almost totally biffed it on your place’s dock! Like, a total wipeout! I catch myself in time and pull myself outta the drag, but then, like, I’m absolutely lost and nobody’s downstairs by the docks. Sooo...I just start walkin’, climbin’ stairs...and then, boom!” (Another clap.) “Conservation area outta nowhere! Your water setup is tight, so I had to check it out by divin’ in...I was playin’ nice with Corsola and Starmie before your suits started chasin’ me out.” Marlon takes a breath. He knows that he’s rambling at this point, but he needs to make sure wrongs are righted here.
“So, what I’m tryin’ to say is: I didn’t know the conservation spot was off-limits, or closed or whatever. An’ I didn’t see any tour desk ‘cause I was cruisin’ up the back stairs,” he finishes with another winning (and earnest) grin. “See, Prez? This is just a gnarly misunderstandin’. I’ll for sure pay the tour fee next time when I’ve got my cash on me--shoots, was swimmin’ with light pockets today...”
“Oh! You should check this too, Prez: name’s Marlon! Alola’s Expert Mantine surf grinder and Unova’s Water Gym Leader!” he announces proudly, planting his hands on Lusamine’s desk again as his blue eyes twinkle away. “I’m not just some nobody rookie, I’m a legendary master of the sea!” He winks. “Sooo...lemme make this whole thing up to ya by offerin’ some tips on your awesome lil’ conservation pool--you down, dude? My excellent advice is on the house, as always!”

Hehe. This is the reason why I overhaul or update the girls’ teams. And I was real disappointed when Shield got Stunfisk again too. If it wasn’t good the first time, why the hell would it be good now?
Tumblr media
... Doesn’t explain why Shield got Stunfisk again, but... hey, that’s just more reason to have her team updated for that one not-so-short story.
Blue is one of the strongest Dex Holders! ... Has an absolute sh*tsack team for some reason. So... overhaul! Her whole shtick was lulling the opponent into a false sense of security with weak looking stuff and then blasting them. She can’t blast them if her Pokemon are sh*t!
Yellow... well, f*ck Yellow (I still remember this!). She relies on bullsh*t powers anyways, and never trains. Only relies on abilities and powers? ... Core Enforcer, Gastro Acid, Worry Seed, Simple Beam... EMP... Hehe. Enemy used Skill Swap on Yellow!
Crystal sucks at fighting, but she’s supposed to be a capture professional. Her team does not reflect that. Parasect (Spore)? Really? Cubone (False Swipe)? Hitmonchan (???)? Though to be fair... Generation I and II didn’t really have a lot of good stuff among the random Pokemon. This was before power creep, after all. So... update! Still though. A Scyther would’ve been better for False Swipe than Cubone. But the star theme~ Get a Starmie then! Or a bunch of star stickers!
Sapphire has a decent team. Certainly the best among the girls (until Shield and her power creep), but that’s not saying much. Her team isn’t good. It’s not terrible, but... not good. Ironically, because she had the best team among the girls, she’s the only real one to not get any updates or overhauls, which then makes her team the worst among the girls! Other than Yellow, but once again, f*ck Yellow.
Platinum... ugh. Sure, she didn’t get a Bidoof. But half of her team is temporary. And among that half is a Cherrim that no one ever uses, and a Pachirisu because... who the f*ck knows. Even Lopunny at the time was absolute sh*t. So... overhaul! The very first one!
White. Ah, the one with the crappiest team. Even Yellow has a better team. And that’s saying something! So... overhaul!
Faitsu... um... team? Anything at all? ... Delete.
Y. Flying types? Anything with Levitate? Anything that flies or hovers? She has a Rhyhorn that’s not even hers? F*cking bullsh*t. Overhaul! And now I tipped the scale in the other direction!
Moon. Doesn’t even fully evolve her team. Or catches anything. Or has a reason for anything that she has. The f*ck. Overhaul.
Shield. Finally, a decent(ish) team! But Stunfisk didn’t learn its lesson and came back with a new camouflage, hoping to go unnoticed. Well, it got noticed, and was not-so-respectfully told to leave. “We don’t take kindly to your type around here!” “But my type changes depending on terrain!” “Get the f*ck out of here!” But that + stupid ass penguin = update!
So, all in all, among 23 Dex Holders that exist, 10 are girls. And of those 10, I’ve overhauled or updated 7 of them. 70%. Of the 13 male Dex Holders, I’ve updated or overhauled... 6 (updated: Red, Diamond, Black, overhauled: Gold, Emerald, Pearl). 46%. But 3/13 overhauls for the guys but 5/10 for the girls. Yikes.

The Phantoms, Triple Threat, Nick, & Caleb Covington as Pokemon trainers
Julie’s Pokemon: Sawsbuck (Bambi), Lurantis (Bloom), Mismagius (Magician), Pikachu (Sparkler), Solrock (Sunshine), Meganium (Long-Neck)
Julie’s a loving, gentle trainer that gives every Pokemon that comes her way a nickname and lets them out every once in a while to relax and play in a forest but goes hard in battles. She never loses. Her Pokemon never lose.
She’s good friends with every nurse Joy and officer Jenny and loves meeting new friends along the way to becoming a real Pokemon master. She never forgets her daily check-in calls with Ray and Carlos. She also keeps in touch with her best friend, Flynn, and loves the pictures she gets from her.
She likes to give her updates on “that cute but mischievous boy with the Gyarados and the Charizard“ that she’s pretty sure has a thing for her but she’s too shy to ask. Even if he seems to just “pop up“ wherever she goes after they met outside of a gym.
She genuinely laughed in Caleb Covington’s face when he tried, and failed epicly, to intimidate her. She thought it was the funniest thing she’d ever heard. Then she proceeded to beat him in battle. In public. Humiliating him. She hates him, and Team Rocket, and everything they stand for.
Bloom and Magician usually prefer to be out of their balls and walk and float around with her. She likes that about them. Sunshine and Lon-Neck seem to be closest with each other, but love the rest of the team as well. And they never run low on food or berries to munch on while they make pit stops on their journey.
Julie usually likes to wear a purple t shirt or sweater, a matching purple headband, white pants and sneakers and a black jacket. She always has a charm bracelet with 6 charms: A Poke Ball, a Great Ball, an Ultra Ball, a Master Ball, a Love Ball and a Friend Ball.
Luke’s Pokemon: Jolteon (Bolt), Charizard (Blaze), Gyarados (Bayou), Poliwrath (Polly), Zapdos (Tazer), Beedrill (Honey)
Yeah, Luke’s a bit of a genwunner. What’s it to ya? He knows what he likes and he knows what’s good. And yeah, he might have gotten himself in trouble with more than one officer Jenny more than twice for trying to steal a potion or two. (Nurse Joys always hate him so he’s learned to stay away from centers.) So he’s a rebel. Sue him. At least he cares enough to get them for his team.
Unlike those awful Team Rocket people that, rather than loving and caring for Pokemon like the epic, amazing, awesome creatures they are, they hurt them. Luke hates Team Rocket with all of his heart and he makes that fact known. He’s only ever met two, and they both sucked. One yelled at a kid’s Geodude and the other made a Togepi cry. Hard. He took it upon himself to comfort the little Togepi and feed him some (stolen) Pokemon food until he smiled and skipped away like nothing had happened.
Anyway, he loves being a trainer and exploring places with his Pokemon and he loves forest picnics (of stolen food, usually) and watching his Gyarados hide in waterfalls to jump out and scare people off. He also likes to keep tabs on “that girl that gives her Pokemon nicknames like a (pretty) dork” (Which is a thing he totally didn’t steal from her. He was already calling his team those names.) and tell the few friends he has about her.
Charizard and Jolteon have been with him since the very beginning of his journey, as a little but strong Charmander and Eevee and he loves them (and everyone else) like crazy. Zapdos tends to come out of his Ultra Ball without warning to spread his wings. Poliwrath is a big fan of swimming in lakes when they find them.
Luke generally wears a blue tank top with a black vest hoodie, jeans and black boots. He’s never seen without his blue knitted beanie (”My mom knitted this, so I’m wearing it forever.”) or the pink, red and blue friendship bracelet Reggie had gifted both him and Alex with before they went on their journeys. (”Reggie and Alex are my best friends, so I’m wearing it forever.”) Luke’s bracelet has a Master Ball charm and he loves it.
Reggie’s Pokemon: Eevee (Foxy), Braixen (Fire-Starter), Vulpix (Curly Top), Cyndaquil (Volcano), Teddiursa (Baby Bear), Togetic (Angel)
Reggie’s not necessarily too concerned with being a Pokemon master. You see, he’s more inclined to just have a good time and explore and let his Pokemon just be and give them all nicknames. He’ll sometimes pop into a Poke Mart just to say hi and grab a potion or two, mostly to not have to bother nurse Joy about his Eevee, who prefers to be carried around like a baby, (And who he doesn’t want to evolve into anything. Same with the rest of them. He’s very content with his “baby” team, thank you.), or his other Pokemon, again.
He likes hearing about his friends crazy adventures, though! And he likes hearing about their love lives, even if they’re both too shy to do much about anything. He likes telling his friends about all the stuff he sees in his town, like the old guy selling Pokemon food and the little girl that “just has an Arcanine, a Flareon, and an Infernape already! How did one little girl manage that?”
Reggie thinks he’s really lucky he’s never met a Team Rocket member, considering everything he’s heard about them from Luke, they suck. He’s honestly started to genuinely hate them by emotional osmosis at this point.
Reggie likes to dress in red and black flannels, white or grey t shirts, black jeans, black sandals, his own friendship bracelet that has an Eevee charm and a black jacket when the weather calls for it.
Alex’s Pokemon team: Sobble, Psyduck, Entei, Rapidash, Lapras, Starmie
So catching the Entei was kind of an accident. He’d just been exploring around a volcano looking to try and catch a Rapidash (he got it) when the volcano erupted and Entei appeared. He had (somehow) managed to calm the rather disgruntled Pokemon and catch it with a Poke Ball and Entei loves being part of Alex’s team, as do the rest of them. The Lapras was an accident, too, but that’s another story for another day. It involves a very grumpy, greedy hunter and Psyduck’s chronic headache.
Sobble, Starmie and Psyduck all just kind of felt drawn to him. He wasn’t going to question why an anxious duck with a permanent headache, a water lizard that always looked distressed and a star felt like sticking around him, but he loved them all equally. He loves updating his friends, Luke and Reggie on his adventures and catches (and the cute boy with the Blissey and Bellossom he met in a Poke Mart and keeps bumping into “on accident”*) or just calling to talk about nothing when he misses them.
(*It’s so not an accident.)
Alex likes to wear pink t shirts with a grey or black jean jacket, blue jeans, a white snapback and black sneakers. He never takes off his friendship bracelet and is very careful to not snag it on a twig or door handle or lose the Starmie charm.
Willie’s Pokemon: Blissey, Bellossom, Slowbro, Snorlax, Garchomp, Aromatisse
Earlier on in life, Willie had been pretty certain he wanted to be like his dad and become a real gym leader, but over time, he grew to like the idea of being a Pokemon doctor. His parents were a bit surprised by the news of their boy wanting to be a doctor, but they wholeheartedly supported his dreams and let him go to school to be a doctor, getting semi-regular updates from him.
Now, he’s often seen picking berries from trees and walking into Poke Marts to grab whatever he’d run out of that week, always happy to see the store clerks or say hi to a friend whose Pokemon he helped heal. (He especially liked when he ran into that Cute Blond Boy and he sometimes walks into stores just to talk to him even if he bought supplies just the day before, but shh. Cute Blond Boy doesn’t need to know that.) He also liked to offer grumpy, angry people a couple bites of Blissey egg to make them happy just because.
Willie usually likes to be comfortable and wear orange and white tie dye t shirts or orange and yellow floral t shirts, blue jeans, white sandals, and his hair loosely tied in a bun. After meeting Cute Blonde Boy, though, he started incorporating snapbacks and sneakers into his wardrobe. He liked how they looked on Cute Blond Boy better, though.
Flynn’s Pokemon: Liepard, Torracat, Delcatty, Pyroar, Lillipup, Persian
Flynn is honestly more of a Pokemon photographer than anything. She likes to hang around fields and forests to see the Pokemon roam free and take pictures or just watch while her big and little wildcats (Her favorites.) and her puppy (Accident. She doesn’t know how she fell so hard for the little pup.) either play or lie next to her and nap. She sends her favorites to her best friend, Julie and talks to her over the phone all the time. She likes hearing about her adventures and her cute boy and give advice on how to talk to him.
Flynn has only ever encountered Caleb, Dante and Fuego twice and she hated him instantly. The first time, she saw him snap at a little boy holding a Growlithe plushie. She had instinctively sicced her Pyroar’s flamethrower on him, yelling at him to leave the kid alone. The second time, she saw him physically grab a girl’s Hoppip and stomped toward him, commanding her Liepard to use Fury Swipes on him. She watched him struggle to walk away afterwards, gently handing the Hoppip back to the little girl and pointing in the direction of a Pokemon center just in case “her little friend got hurt when the mean guy grabbed her”.
Flynn is always seen wearing some kind of wildcat print in her outfits. Whether it’s the orange tiger t shirt and blue jeans combo with matching tiger boots she loved to put together, or the leopard print dress she saved for special occasions. She and Julie have always worn their matching charm bracelets with nothing but pride and love.
Carrie’s Pokemon: Mew, Sylveon, Dragonair (Shiny), Alomomola, Clefable, Audino
Listen, Carrie Wilson may be a pink princess, but don’t mistake her love of girly, glittery clothes and only having pink Pokemon on her team as her being weak. It’s not “she loves pink and glitter, but she’s strong and smart“, it’s “she loves pink and glitter AND she’s strong and smart“.
She simply has an aesthetic and an image to maintain and she maintains it, while having a team of strong fighters. She caught her Mew when all she had was a Sylveon and a couple of Pokeballs (What, like it’s hard?) and she’s proud to have a Mew, who prefers to float around her or piggyback her rather than be stuck in a ball, on her team.
She thinks it’s hilarious that Caleb assumed she would be at all scared of him. And assumed that she would lose to him. Carrie Wilson never loses a battle and she doesn’t plan to make that a habit of hers anytime soon. It’s simply not what Carrie Wilson does. Carrie Wilson instills fear into the hearts of weak little men, and has fun doing it.
But she’s always nice to little girls like her who love pink and love to beat boys in battle. She even gives girls strategic advice and runs into stores to buy them potions, poison heals and more just because. Little girls love her for it and she loves the little girls she comes across like her sisters.
Carrie wears a bedazzled white t shirt with a picture of a Love Ball on the front, a pink (faux, of course) fur coat, a sparkly pink tiered skirt with matching pink high heels. She saves her favorite pink and silver crystal dress for only the most special occasions.
Nick’s Pokemon: Cubone, Elekid, Wartortle, Chimchar, Pidgey, Butterfree
Nick is an aspiring baseball player, just like his dad. He’s not the best in battle, and he has to make quite a few emergency trips to Pokemon centers or clinics when he’s out of potions, but his team still loves him and fiercely (Well, as fierce as a tiny dinosaur, a ball of electricity, a turtle, a chimp, a pidgeon, and a butterfly can be.) protects him from danger.
Like that time when he accidentally angered a flock of Zubat by kicking a rock a little too hard and startling them awake. Emolga and Chimchar had to come to his rescue and they managed to get away relatively unscathed. Or that time he’d been found by a sweet old couple that offered him a warm meal, some Pokemon food and a bed for the night. After he’d been ambushed by a massive colony of angry Beedrill for walking too close to Beedrill territory.
Nick liked to wear a yellow t shirt with his dad’s baseball team, The Electabuzz, white shorts, black sandals and a white vest. He was always in either that or a regular white t shirt with a Poke Ball, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
Caleb’s Pokemon: Seviper, Grimmsnarl, Gengar, Skarmory, Umbreon, Spectrier
Caleb’s a member of Team Rocket. No one there really likes him or takes him seriously except Dante and Fuego, but he’s convinced himself they all do. No one, not even Dante and Fuego, is really sure how he managed to catch the Spectrier (or any of his team, because they don’t really like him much, either), but they also haven’t bothered to ask and he can’t really be bothered to tell.
He’s totally not friends with Dante and Fuego (yes, he is) and he totally doesn’t love them like sons, what? He doesn’t have a heart. (Except for Dante and Fuego.) He steals from stores and scares kids just by existing near them. Except Julie, Flynn, Carrie, and Luke. They’re not scared of anything. He’s more scared of them.
He hates the standard “bland, boring and ugly” Team Rocket uniform. With a burning passion. So naturally, he decided to dye the white parts of his uniform purple and cover it in glitter, replacing the hat with a much more his style top hat. He had gotten in trouble for the modifications to the outfit initially, but he didn’t care much. He was evil, but he wasn’t boring. And his boss had just sighed and decided he could get used to the non-regulation uniform after all.

All-Glitch Pokemon Blue Run Pt4: Missing Numbers
Tumblr media
The reports I've received are that very, very strange pokemon have been spotted on or around Nugget Bridge. They only seem to appear for trainers very rarely. I need you to investigate this in detail. What glitchmon species are we dealing with here? Where exactly are they hiding and how can we coax them out of hiding? Use whatever means at your disposal to learn more.
-Professor Gingko
---
Professor,
I sure have a report for you.
So, I spent some time at Nugget bridge, wandering around, checking the grass right next to it, so on. I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, but I did notice some Abra in the grass. I decided to catch one. I know you said don't put normal pokemon on my team, but don't worry. I won't be using this Abra at all, except for emergencies for when I want to Teleport. It's just too handy a thing to pass up, especially when the place is crawling with trainers. Heck, right after I caught an Abra he became immediately useful-- helped me Teleport away right when some annoying trainer wanted to battle me.
I hadn't been making any progress so far, so I decided to visit the local gym and ask the people in there if  they'd seen anything suspicious at Nugget Bridge. All I wanted to do was talk to them, but everyone leapt on me in there like a pack of hyenas, looking for battles. Even Misty was all battle, no talk. I accomplished nothing in there, unfortunately, except wipe out my pokemon.
But something incredible happened when I returned to Nugget Bridge later. Professor, I found it! The glitch pokemon! It just suddenly popped up, right in front of me! My Glitchdex said it's called "Missingno."
Tumblr media
I can't really describe it. I think it's some kind of bird, because it was fluttering around, but it looks so . . . distorted. It had a shrill, high-pitched cry and kept spitting water at me. I captured one, but here's the weird part . . . when I let it out of its pokeball, it wasn't there anymore. It had turned into a Rhydon.
That makes zero sense, but I swear, that's what happened. Did the pokeball, like, mess up and reassemble it into a different species or something? I don't really know how pokeball technology works, so maybe it's like a transporter accident in Star Trek. Anyway, I was really disappointed after capturing it to learn it was now a Rhydon.
Lucky for me, after hanging around long enough, I came across another one. I captured this one too, and this time, it remained as a Missingno. I named it Fractal, because the weird patterns reminded me of one.
Tumblr media
The Glitchdex shows that its stats aren’t exactly amazing, but it knows Sky Attack, so that’s pretty cool.
Oh, another thing. Uh, this might sound crazy, but after capturing this ‘lil fella, I opened up my bag and there were about a ZILLION rare candies in there. I know I had literally only one before. So, I have no clue what that’s all about.

What’s up Pokefans?! Welcome back to the wonderful world of Pokemon! Specifically, bug type Pokemon as we continue our bug monotype run of Pokemon red version. This time we will be covering Misty and the battle against Blue at the foot of Nugget Bridge in Cerulean City. I’ve got to tell you I am TERRIFIED of Misty’s Starmie. I usually either catch an Oddish and train it to evolve it into Gloom before the gym, or I'd have started with Bulbasaur and already have it evolved into Ivysaur. As I can do neither, and Paras doesn’t learn any grass type attacking moves without a TM, I'm left with one option: taking out Starmie using bug type moves to bust it’s secondary psychic typing.
So on paper that sounds reasonable, however, Paras only learns leech life and it has to hit level 20 to earn it, and Beedrill learns twineedle, but again it has to be level 20. None of the other members of my team learn ANY bug type moves in generation one. I don’t think I need to tell you the huge amount grinding I did in Mount Moon, fighting Zubat’s which could confuse me and drain their health back to full and Geodude’s which only Butterfree could hit. Thank Arceus for the speed multiplier option. Anyway, I left Mount Moon with Paras knowing leech life and Beedrill in the spotlight for training (I picked the dome fossil in case anyone wants to know).
When I got to Cerulean I knew I still wouldn’t be strong enough to battle Misty as Beedrill was still really low levelled. So I decided to take on Nugget Bridge and visit Bill before making an attempt on that Starmie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our second battle against Blue started as soon as I stepped foot on the bridge. He sent out Pidgeotto and I seriously misjudged the level of his team at this point. Scyther didn’t do too badly actually and would’ve won but Pidgeotto spammed sand attack so I couldn’t hit it and Scyther went down.
Tumblr media
I sent out Paras who quickly finished Pidgeotto thanks to the grinding for leech life and then it almost OHKO’d Abra. See all that levelling paid off in the end.
Tumblr media
Next up was Rattata, I sent out Beedrill to try and get it some EXP. There was only one level between them but Rattata absolutely trashed my Beedrill with hyper fang. I swapped out for Butterfree and finished the job with confusion.
Tumblr media
Finally Blue sent out his last Pokemon: Squirtle. I chose Pinisr to give it some much needed EXP. It took three vice grips but Squirtle went down fairly easily, spending its turns tail whipping.
Its probably worth mentioning that Pinisr is awesomely powerful despite only knowing one move. I tried to teach it mega punch to at least give it a second move. I can’t learn it. Of course not.
Anyway, after battling some trainers and rescuing Bill from a fate worse that death (or not, I'd like to be a Nidorino) Beedrill hit level 20 and learnt twineedle. It was finally time to take on Misty and earn the second badge.
Gym battle two: Misty
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First up, Staryu. Go Beedrill. Misty used her first turn to use an x-defence. Beedrill used twineedle and OHKO’d Staryu.
Tumblr media
Next up - the dreaded Starmie. I flopped up the first turn and hit fury attack instead of twineedle. Starmie took practically no damage from a three hit attack and countered with tackle which took off a third of Beedrill’s health. Next turn I actually managed to do what I was supposed too and Beedrill hit for just over half of Starmie’s health. It didn't manage to get off the poison though. Next turn, Misty used an x-defence which meant twineedle didn't hit as hard. Misty countered with tackle again and in the last turn Beedrill managed to take down the legendary beast with poison sting.
Tumblr media
All that training Paras and I didn’t even need it. We score the Cascade Badge and a TM for bubble beam (which is going straight in the bin/PC). I’m seriously proud of my Beedrill for taking out one of my worst childhood fears with relative ease. Good going buddy! Only six gyms to go!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So here’s a real quick recap of my team so far. Honestly, the bug type isn’t too bad when pitched against the major battles of the story so far, its the long routes and especially the dungeons where we struggle due to a serious lack of moves and coverage. Venonat is the only Pokemon I haven’t paid much attention to just yet as its pretty weak, doesn't evolve until level 31 and only knows tackles and disable but I need to spend a bit of time grinding again before taking on the next gym. I wonder if Paras can learn dig...

Pokemon Next Gen (Competition Kids): Coast Suiren
Tumblr media
Coast is the older twin son of Lana. He’s known as the ‘Evil Twin’ and his sister Minuet is known as the ‘Good Twin’. Coast and Minuet had inherited different traits from their mother, Coast had inherited Lana’s “Battle Mode” as Kiawe calls it, being serious and sometimes violent especially when he’s in a Pokemon battle. Despite how he may act, he’s still protective of his Pokemon and his younger sister, he’ll often speak in a hushed, icy tone should someone bad mouth his sister or either of their Pokemon. Like his mother and sister, he’s a very strong swimmer and is a great fisherman, also being able to fish up Water-types and befriending them easily. He can be a bit more sadistic when it comes to telling outrageous jokes, unlike his sister he doesn’t give anyone a hint that he’s joking, he’ll say “I’m joking” but then he’ll add an “Or am I~?” when others let their guards down and give a sadistic grin, which freaks out a lot of people. Coast isn’t afraid of much and can approach violent Pokemon with no fear in his eyes, a trait he got from his mom. He’s also athletic and has a lot of stamina, being able to swim for a long time without getting tired. Unlike his sister, he’s more interested in competitions, mostly those that deal with water or using Water-type Pokemon. He competes in competitions like the Whirl Cup, fishing contests and water races, he became friends with Acorn, Riley, Zach, and Mary and supports them with their respective competitions, as well as helping them with any training they might need.
His main colors are blue and black. From blue, he’s caring and expresses a lot of concern for his Pokemon and his sister. He’s also loyal to his friends and is very perseverance and reliable (mostly to anyone he’s close to). He can, however, be deceitful if you get on his bad side, as well as spiteful and unforgiving if he sees anyone messing with Pokemon or his younger sister. But he’s still helpful and happy to help anyone who needs his help. Blue also represents how he’s devoted to what he does and how he has a lot of spirit when it comes to the competitions he competes in. Black represents how he’s protective of Pokemon and his sister and friends, as well as how he can be mysterious as well as how it represents how he can be intimidating and strong. Black also gives him a bit of power and radiates authority that can at times cause fear into anyone who gets on his bad side.
His Pokemon:
Feraligatr- Coast had caught Totodile while he was fishing, after a while of just spending time with him and fishing up other Pokemon, Coast had decided to keep Totodile and caught him. With Totodile by his side, Coast went to catch and train other Water-type Pokemon so he could compete in different water-based competitions. Totodile had eventually evolved into Croconaw during training and evolved again into Feraligatr during a battle in the Whirl Cup. As a Totodile, Feraligatr was very playful, but as time went on he had adapted a bit of Coast’s protective and even a bit of his violent side and would often bite anyone who would insult him or bring harm to other Pokemon. When he evolved into Croconaw, he gained some more of Coast’s sadistic nature, often taking pride when he bites someone and sometimes grinning sadistically alongside his trainer. As a Feraligatr, he still retains some violence and sadistic behavior but he does know how to hold back and will only cause actual harm to someone who deserves it, he isn’t disobedient either and will always listen when Coast tells him to hold back and he’ll only actually attack someone if Coast tells him to. He can be a gentle giant at times, mostly when he’s around people or Pokemon that Coast doesn’t seem to have an issue with.
Caught in a Dive Ball.
Ability is Torrent.
Moves are Aqua Tail, Hydro Pump, Ice Fang, Dragon Dance, Hydro Cannon, Focus Punch, Seismic Toss, Dive, Liquidation, and Crunch.
Swanna- Coast caught Swanna when he was a Ducklett. As a Ducklett, Swanna was shy and didn’t enjoy battling as much, however with training and some encouragement from Coast and his other Pokemon he slowly got more courageous and was more okay with battling alongside the others. He soon evolved into Swanna and when he did, he developed a bit more of a temper problem, mostly when someone would think he was a girl or that he was weak, which caused him to lash out by spraying them or pecking their heads in retaliation. Like his trainer, he can be a bit sadistic if he gets pushed hard enough and he’s protective of other Pokemon, rushing to protect them should something happen. He isn’t afraid of Electric types and will often come up with ways to counter them, he also fully trusts Coast.
Caught in a Net Ball.
Ability is Hydration.
Moves are Rain Dance, Aqua Ring, Hurricane, Air Slash, Brave Bird, Scald, Steel Wing, Mud Sport, Water Pulse, and Brine.
Crawdaunt- Coast had found out about Crawdaunt causing trouble nearby and decided to go on a trip to find it and try to catch it when he found the wild Crawdaunt, he battled it and after a hard battle, he managed to catch it. Most found it surprising that Crawdaunt had warmed up to Coast so quickly as they’re known to being difficult to raise, some still don’t know how he was able to get Crawdaunt to follow him. Crawdaunt is as violent and battle-hungry as the next Crawdaunt, but he’s even more so, always wanting to find more Pokemon to battle against and getting excited every time he battles against another Pokemon. He does have to be told to hold back at times due to how strong he is, it annoys him sometimes but he still follows through with his orders of needing to hold back.
Caught in a Dive Ball.
Ability is Hyper Cutter.
Moves are Hone Claws, Razor Shell, Crabhammer, Crunch, Dive, Metal Claw, Night Slash, Guillotine, Lash Out, and X-Scissor.
Quagsire- Coast fished Quagsire up when he was a Wooper and Coast had him join the team given how Wooper is part Ground-type which he could use to counter Electric-type Pokemon should he ever face one. Wooper had evolved into Quagisre during a battle in the Whirl Cup. Quagsire often reminds Coast of his mother, as Quagsire has two personalities one being his carefree and almost dopey side when he’s out of battle and his more serious side when he’s in battle. Quagsire is also known to be very spacey and quirky when he’s not in a battle, Coast often uses some of Quagsire’s quirks to his advantage during battles or in any kind of competition. Quagsire does enjoy battling, but he also enjoys a nice swim and is a very strong swimmer, he doesn’t mind either pulling Coast around or having Coast ride on his back. He also gets along with children and enjoys playing with them when he’s around them.
Caught in a Lure Ball.
Ability is Water Absorb.
Moves are Aqua Tail, Earthquake, Ice Punch, Dig, Water Pulse, Muddy Water, Waterfall, Headbutt, Mist, and Yawn.
Poliwrath- Coast had caught Poliwrath when she was a Poliwhirl along with his sister’s Poliwhirl, who she evolved into a Politoed when she had gotten a King’s Rock. Coast had evolved his Poliwhirl into a Poliwrath when he had found a Water stone for her. Poliwrath is a fierce and tough Pokemon, she enjoys a good swim and a good battle with anyone. Poliwrath enjoys battling and is proud to show off her skills in battle, as such she enjoys participating in the Whirl Cup the most. Poliwrath likes to spar with her teammates and she helps them with training, acting as the coach of the team and Coast himself. She enjoys helping them with any kind of training, be it swimming for Coast or battling for her teammates.
Caught in a Lure Ball.
Ability is Swift Swim.
Moves are Rain Dance, Submission, Dynamic Punch, Coaching, Ice Punch, Superpower, Liquidation, Scald, Waterfall, and Darkest Lariat.
Starmie- Coast caught Starmie back when they were a Staryu, he wanted to evolve them into Starmie as he thought that Starmie could provide some good coverage to his team so, after a lot of training, he gave Staryu a Water stone and had them evolve. Starmie is a pretty laid back Pokemon, they have a special ability to change the color of their gem to express how they’re feeling, they also will flash their gem to try to talk to the others. Starmie has a surprisingly loose body, making them able to get out of moves like Wrap and Bind easily unlike other Starmie. While Starmie does like to relax, they still battle when they need to but they honestly prefer being ridden on or surfing through the water in water races. They’re still loyal to Coast and will always assist him should he need help.
Caught in a Dive Ball.
Ability is Analytic.
Moves are Rapid Spin, Confuse Ray, Recover, Hydro Pump, Surf, Psychic, Power Gem, Psyshock, Scald, and Water Pulse.

MY TOP 10 FAVORITE POKEMON OF ALL TIME
Pokemon has been my childhood favorite, including the anime and games themselves. I don't know how I am so enticed by the mere idea of having buddies that have super powers that can battle other pokemon or even people and other stuff. That's so dope! So here are my top 10 favorite pocket monsters from Pokemon.
10. Kingdra
- Kingdra is a Water-Dragon type seahorse or seadragon. Kingdra's stats in competitive battle is amazing, but also the design of it looks tough and great. It is not a pokemon that you could joke about once you've encountered it in battle.
9. Metagross
- Metagross is kinda like a steel robot that has a very tough design. It starts out as a cute Beldum, and evolves into a Metang that already looks amazing, but then it evolves into something tougher. Metagross in battle is amazing, and in Pokemon Emerald, Steven even calls it as his favorite pokemon (although it was a Beldum in the beginning).
8. Starmie
- Starmie is one of those 1st Generation pokemon that I loved since I was a kid. Starmie's design is so simple but I've always used in battle with my Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen (also in Pokemon Red and Blue). Though Staryu is relatively rare, it is such a joy for me to catch it mainly because it is a wonderful and powerful water pokemon to be added on my team.
7. Dragonair
- Dragonair reminds me of a serpent-dragon, well, because it is. But its design is more dragon-like and not serpent-like. Its design is mythical and its stats are amazingly good. Dragonite, its final evolution is more powerful though, but its design for me makes it less to look like the pseudo-legendary it is, and the design for Dragonair is better and more adorable.
6. Gardevoir and Gallade
- They share the same spot on this list because they root from the same evolutionary line: Ralts. Gardevoir and Gallade have a typing difference, with Gallade being a Psychic-Fighting type and Gardevoir being a Psychic-Fairy type. Both are strong in competitive battle and designwise, Gardevoir has curves that is graceful and feminine (which is appropriate for its typing) and Gallade has a sporty, sharp, edgy and masculine nature to its design.
5. The Squirtle Line
- Squirtle to Wartortle to Blastoise. This evolutionary line is so close to my heart as this is the starter line that I would pick in Generation 1 games of Pokemon. Squirtle is cute, Wartortle is a cutesy competitive turtle-pokemon, and Blastoise with his Hydro Blasters are just dope.
4. Umbreon
- Eevee is cute and great because it can evolve into so many optional types to whichever the trainer likes. However, Umbreon is my favorite Eeveelution because of its dark and mysterious nature. Its design is so simple and sleek yet it remains so cute. Its prowess in battle is evident as well, as it is strong against psychic and ghost types, which sounds so epic.
3. Milotic
- Feebas is such an ugly pokemon. It is like the Magikarp of Generation 3 of pokemon, but nasty-looking. This is a literal manifestation of the story similar to the ugly duckling in pokemon, but with a fish. A trainer's patience will be tested on how far would he/she go to train Feebas into what would I believe as the most majestic looking pokemon out there.
2. Victreebel
- I had a good laugh everytime that James' Victreebel from the Pokemon Anime appears, not just because of its nature, but because of its cry. It sounds like literally a screaming girl. I used it frequently in the Generation 1 games and it sticks to my team mainly because of its typing similar to Venusaur, but also its flexibility and power in battle. Venusaur may be competitively better, but my memories with the Victreebel in the anime make it as a much better choice for me for a Grass-Poison type pokemon.
1. The Mudkip Line
- Mudkip is my favorite Hoenn starter and has always been. It is the best choice for the first four gyms in the Hoenn Region, as Mudkip and Marshtomp are strong against Roxanne's Rock types, neutral against Brawly, strong and immune to Watson's Electric types (with Marshtomp's Ground typing coverage) and Flannery's Fire types. Mudkip is superbly cute, Marshtomp is a jolly happy pokemon, and Swampert is the most intimidating and OP-looking mudfish pokemon.

Tumblr media
Those Pokémon are Tentacool!
Tumblr media
And those Pokémon are trash!
Combee my friend, I’ve got more to say!
And if we Diglett-le deeper we can learn today!
So why not get Comfey? Don’t be Krabby or blue
Here are some lessons and I Rotom 4 U!
If you Muk around in class, you’ll be distraught!
Don’t Bidoof-us, just study a lot!
If you’re Slaking in school, you’ll drop out sooner!
And abstinence is key, or you’ll get a Mime Jr.
Swanna grab some candy for a sweet treat?
Amaura-mazing snack is a Pichu can eat!
Bewear of Shiftry strangers who offer you hugs
And don’t stick forks into Eelectrik plugs!
Wear a Shelmet when you Rhydon bikes
Keep a well-stocked Bagon extra-long hikes!
Make sure to stay away from that Ferroseed
And that’s just one name people have for weed!
There’s Pansage and Slowbro, Oddish and Bonsly
Tropius, Seedot, Nuzleaf and Stunky!
And Blissey, Loudred, Dewgong and Goodra
Bounsweet, Bayleaf, Hypno and Munna!
You’ll be Drowzee if you Swellow that Tangrowth smoke!
Also Koffing and Weezing, hey, you might Machoke!
So if someone says “hey, want some dank Lombre?”
Look ‘em Dedenne the eye and say NO WAY!
I tell you Natu do drugs, but if someone’s smoking Treecko, does that make them a bad person?
DEFINITELY NO!
I don’t mean to carr-Yanma point in this verse is that alienating drug users makes things worse
Don’t lock someone up if they take a Hitmonchan
And criminalizing addicts is a really bad plan
BIG PHARMA IS THE ROOT OF OUR COUNTRY’S PROBLEM WITH OPIATE ADDICTION.
Golem.
Gastly, Horsea, Chansea, Burmy
Clefairy, Mankey, Klefki, Goomy
Hoo! Rapping’s hard, let me catch my breath
Might as well check how many we’ve got left
There’s less than 150 left.
Can I really do this?
I used to have this dream
Back when I was a child
I’d make the PokéRap listenable
And everybody called me reckless and wild
But I never gave up
I kept at it every day
And with Pikachu beside me and my ‘dex to guide me
I knew that there’d be a way
To ignore all of the naysayers I’d need a thicker skin than Metapod
Why not leave my comfort zone, jump in the Unown?
Maybe someday everyone will applaud
It’s Absol-utely worth taking a risk
Plusle make a few friends as I try
Seaking how to be strong as I Raichu a song
Though I still don’t know where to put Mr. Mime
But who cares if I couldn’t find a good place to put
Togedmaru, Pyukumuku, Mawile, Sceptile, Sandile, Helioptile, Leafon, Gengar, Malamar, Marshtomp, Chatot, Simipour, Ferrothorn, Toxicroak, Minccino, Cinccino, Azumarill, Tranquill, Excadrill, Marill, Beedrill…
And Togetic, Basculin, Gigalith, Crabominable, Kingdra, Ambipom, Gastrodon, Bastiodon, Hippowdon, Vivillon, Bisharp, Liepard, Dunsparce, Aipom, Slakoth, Ralts and Dustox
I still found a way to put ‘em in there!
No matter the Scizor the scope of the task,
I don’t need a Magikarp-et ride
I’Machamp-ion hero, there’s nothing to Fearow
My true power comes from inside
And that brings us all of the way to the top
I’ve said every name I can say
I’ll let my body confess the names that I can’t express
Yes, it’s time for the dream ballet!
(Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, Ho-Oh, Tapu Fini, Latias, Latios, Lugia, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Nihilego, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Celesteela, Kartana, Guzzlord, Poipole, Stakataka, Blacephalon, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regigigas, Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Mew, Mewtwo, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Type: Null, Silvally, Reshiram, Zekrom, Manaphy, Phione, Celebi, Jirachi, Victini, Shaymin, Marshadow, Darkrai, Magearna, Necrozma, Melmetal, Meltan, Diancie, Hoopa, Meloetta, Cresselia, Healtran, Kyurem, Keldeo, Deoxys, Genesect, Volcanion, Zeraora, Arceus)
But there’s one Pokémon, my own holy grail
That I gave Kevin Punt; I hope that bastard’s in jail
‘Cause of all Tangelas, Terry is the apex
And I gave him up for my ‘dex
When you love Terry terribly and then Terry is gone
What’s the point of having every other Pokémon?
There’s a wound in my heart that I can’t get rid of
How can I find joy without my tangly boy?
Why catch them all if you can’t keep the ones that you love?
Terryyyyyy!!!!!!!
Oh Terryyyyyyyyyy!

Hello~ I’m not sure if I’ve already said this, but to anyone reading, I just want to let you know that often times my teams/partners won’t have the most in depth reasoning! Sometimes I just go with what I think just fits. I still give a description on each Pokemon as if the reader doesn’t know anything, though!
But anyways, I think I have a nice team for you!
♡ Your partner would be Snivy! Snivy’s entire evolutionary line shares many of your good/bad traits. They can be stubborn, easily bored & prone to pushing everything off until they -have- to do it. However, this line is surprisingly patient & understanding with others. They are noted to be great Pokemon to train your team with, as they instinctively understand exactly how strong/weak their opponent is, their weak points & how strong they themselves are. In battle they are very cunning & quick. Their boredom will transform into fierce determination if they know their opponent is strong as them, or stronger. Besides appearing a little arrogant & aloof, these Pokemon are not actually difficult to raise at all, hence their starter pokemon status in the Unova region. Like most starters, they are very loyal to a trainer that is on their same wavelength.
♡ Starmie is a unique Pokemon. They have no traditional face, so this only further cements their reputation for being mysterious & odd Pokemon. Their gem is thought to be the “brain”, as the rest of its body can be removed & grown back without issue. These gems blink as a form of special communication with others of their kind, and sometimes they use their gems to send unknown signals to the sky at night. Approaching them while this ritual of sorts is happening will cause headaches. The gem is also thought to be a good indicator of their health. It flickers when unhealthy & goes totally dim if unconscious. Starmie is a water/psychic type & Starmie is known to be a very intelligent Pokemon under the alien like appearance & behavior. They are mobile on both land & water, although their natural habitat is the sea. Starmie does not possess distinctive personality traits unique to their species, otherwise. Starmie is most likely to adapt their personality based on the lifestyle they’re living & who is around them. This would be a great Pokemon to snorkel or look at the night sky with.
♡ Snubbull is a timid & playful Pokemon. It has a fierce face, but this Pokemon is sweet & entirely non-aggressive. It is very devoted & loyal to its trainer & family. It can be sensitive & prone to letting itself be bullied, so make sure to keep an eye on Snubbull when it’s playing with other Pokemon! Snubbull will be a great right hand buddy to have tag along anywhere you go, unless you catch it in one of its many daily naps!
♡ Wingull is just an intuitive choice! Wingull has a knack for finding great fishing spots & also has an eye for “treasure”, which will vary based on individual Wingull’s tastes. This bird Pokemon is very small & easy to train. Share your sushi with Wingull & it’ll love your forever!
♡ Morelull is a nocturnal, mushroom-like grass type Pokemon. Another intuitive choice. Morelull is somewhat feared in the wild, as they can release spores that can put you to sleep instantly & drain your vitality. This usually only actually happens when people run into a large group getting read to evolve, or groups in a sort of feeding frenzy for whatever reason. Training a Morelull is much less troublesome. Just let it out on a cool night & it will feed on trees and other plant life as a source of energy. They always make sure to not hurt anything they feed on.
♡ Espurr is a Psychic type cat Pokemon. Their ears naturally help hold in their intense psychic power that radiates from them. Espurr has strong control over this. Through their determination & willpower, accidents rarely happen with Espurr. If it is accidentally released, they lose all control over what happens next. While battling, this can have a surprisingly devastating impact. Other than that, they are typical /cat kitten Pokemon in behavior. Their bipedal body & naturally higher than average intelligence makes them seem like quite children.
Hope you like your team! ^~^
