Okay, my anthropomorphic duck-loving friends!

Since Halloween isn’t too far out at this point, why don’t we discuss some of our favorite Halloween-related songs? I’ll get the ball rolling.

First up, Bring Me to Life by Evanescence:

This song is kind of a modern classic. All the elements really work well together: Amy Lee’s haunting vocals, the pounding rock tones, the guitar shreds. It all has sort of a gothic feel to it, and it’s just super catchy. Come on, who doesn’t want to belt out, “Wake me up! Wake me up insiiiiide!”?

Midnight in Montgomery by Alan Jackson:

I know that you guys might not necessarily be the biggest fans of country, but this one strikes a really good Halloween chord. It’s basically about a singer who sees the ghost of Hank Williams after playing a show on New Year’s Eve (for some context, Williams died in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day in 1953). The lyrics are very haunting, and the echo of the guitar is spooky.

Every Breath You Take by Chase Holfelder:

This is a cover of the Police classic. If you know the song, you probably know that Sting doesn’t understand why people perceive it as a love song, because the lyrics convey more of a stalker feel. Well, Chase’s version of this takes the creepiness factor up to 11, with an inching delivery of both the lyrics and instrumentals, as well as a couple bombastic drops. No offense to The Police at all, but this version is much more creepy and Halloween-ish (though I’d have to think Sting would agree).

Man with the Hex by The Atomic Fireballs:

If Doctor Facilier from The Princess and the Frog had an official theme song, it would probably be this. I love how jazzy this song is, it’s very high-energy and swinging. John Bunkley’s deep, booming vocals really add to the number, and the call-and-response is absolutely brilliant.

The singer's name is Chase Holfelder, and he's absolutely amazing. I don't know if you remember this, but a few years ago, he released this haunting version "I'm a Toys 'R' Us" kid (which was perfect timing since Toys R Us had just announced it was closing a bunch stores).

Anyway, that's kinda his claim to fame: he transposes songs from a major key (more bright, friendly-sounding) to a minor key (darker, more-eerie sound; this is what made my video 100x more dramatic).

You sneak up to where he you know he sleeps. Managing to pick the lock, which took exactly how many tries you were expecting it to. You slip in, close the door behind you, and rush to his sleeping form as quietly as you could.

You stood over his sleeping form. He works himself so much he probably wouldn’t wake up. Even still, you take the syringe and pump the anesthetic into his blood stream. Don’t want him waking up. You could be kicked out, lose your position if you were caught.

After occasionally seeing him, you’d grown obsessed. And couldn’t wait to touch him. You longed for it, but feared what would happen if you made your affections known. So you loved him from the shadows, but it wasn’t enough.

Nothing holding you back, you finally allow yourself to run your hands along him. Touching him all over like you longed for, fantasized about for so long. You press yourself against him. Your heart soars. You wanted to hold onto him and never let go.

Your touches dip beneath his clothes, splaying your hand flat to feel all of him. It was just like your daydreams. You kiss him. On his face, lips, neck, shoulders. Your lips trail over any piece of exposed skin. Worshiping his body. More than you did for any god.

Your nimble fingers tear off every piece of clothes. You take his member in your mouth and suck it dry for all it's worth. Your eyes become half lidded.. It was everything you imaged. After your thirsr is finally quenched, you flip yourself around to ride him. Singing whispered praises.

Little did you know, his eyes hungrily trailed over your sleeping body like you did his. The akasha terminal on your head glowed in the dark. Trapped in an eternal dreamstate for the purpose of harvesting your dreams for research purposes. But he couldn't say that there wasn't another reason.

You would believe the dream was reality. He wished he knew what you were dreaming, but he could look at your dream later. Right now he had other things he wanted to do.

He touches you. All the ways he wished he could have touched you when you were conscious. Ravaging your body, hastily pulling his pants down and taking what he wanted. Holding you tight, breathing into your ear while you clench around him so good. His sharp teeth sink into your soft skin.

Perhaps you would be stuck in an eternal dream forever. And he could keep doing whatever he wanted with you.

He’s in for a pleasant surprise when he looks at your dream later.
