after watching the sylas video i came to three conclusions:
1. Scythe is a little crazy/hj
2. The amount of vocal fry and voice distortion mans does is concerning. (my inner choir kid weeps for your throat)
3. Why are we engaging in vampire nepotism?!??

slumber party!
Yandere friend group x fem!reader
Tw: none that I can think of, reader is mentioned to have a childhood author randomly thought of, you can change it in your mind if you like. Not proofread 🌺
Tumblr media
⭐you grew up with your friends, having known eachother since diapers! Your parents often left you in a daycare since they were busy with their jobs, and that's how you met Cassidy. A bright and cheerful girl, capable of lighting up a room with her toothy smile. When she saw you crying in a corner, missing your parents, she hastily snatched a couple of crayons and rushed over. Sitting next to you and holding out a pudgy hand, offering the red crayon.
"hi! I'm Cassidy! But you can call me cassie.. what's your name?"
🛍️ skipping a few years, you and Cassidy were in first grade. Obsessing over my little pony and worms, when suddenly you came across Michelle. A prickly girl you've known since kindergarten, but she was always too stuck up and bossy to ever get along with anyone. She held out a chocolate with a furrowed brow, looking flustered as she moved from side to side, the way your choir teacher hated
"can.. may i.. play with you, please..?" You swore you could hear your homeroom teacher cheering in the background
🎀it was 4th grade, you, Michelle and cassidy were in that ripe age where all boys were Icky and gross and had all types of nasty cooties. The constant squabbling and booger picking you'd see from the aforementioned solidly confirmed it. You spotted the new girl, Vivian getting harassed by the class weirdo, some Asian fetishizer. So you bravely stood up, walked over.. and tripped on your untied shoe laces, landing face first into the carpeted floor. Viv gasped and quickly rushed over to you, making sure you were alright before letting out a soft giggle
"you should be more careful.. you're y/n right? You have a very lovely name"
💀 7th grade, the emo and dragon ball z kids were making themselves known. You were laying on the classroom floor, resting your head in Vivian's lap as Michelle dangled a vine of grapes Infront of your mouth. Giggling when you obediently opened and bit one off. The giggling stopped and you opened your eyes to see a hot topic magazine boy standing over you all.
"hey! You on the other girls lap! You're my girlfriend now." "...what."
After the boy almost got his shit rocked by your scarily protective friends, you Introduced yourself "y/n" "kiross.." the girls were glaring daggers at him
💕 9th grade, you were starting to see a pattern, a new member of your group joins every few years. So you were preparing yourself mentally, all while Talking and suddenly turning around to walk backwards. Not noticing the boy you were just about to bump into. Your friends quickly rushed forward to try and catch your ass, but it was no use. You fell straight into.. a soft body. The boy you fell ontop of blinked owlishly, before realizing it was you and giving a devilish grin. surprisingly he looked hotter than most guys in your class
"haha, looks like god answered my prayers to send me an angel, my name's Alexis. Nice to meet you"
🔪12th grade came, soon you'd be free from the hell hole known as public high school. You clinged and sobbed in Cassidy's arms, only 6 more months to go. Whining something about not having a boyfriend, ignoring how offended kaiross looked. You dramatically fell to your knees and held your hands clasped together towards the sky, yelling that you wanted a hot hunk and you wanted him right now... Only for an incredibly heavy object to land straight into your back. Sending you both to the ground as the thing made a grunt. Looking up, you damn near had a nosebleed to see the hottest man you've ever seen, daichio
"ah.. sorry pretty girl, you okay down there?" "yeah.. more than okay.." "alright break it up! No soliciting"
⭐after daichio joined, tensions rose in the little friend haven. Vivian and Michelle would squabble over anything involving you, daichio would purposely provoke kaiross to a fight, alexis would pick on Cassidy for always being so close to you. Until you finally had enough. Giving them the biggest tongue lashing they ever had as you yelled at them to be normal people for once and get along
🛍️...maybe it would have been better if they kept fighting, because now they were a hive mind. After secretly talking behind your back, Daichio and kaiross were like your guards dogs since they had the most muscle. Cassidy was your right hand, Alexis being your tutor. Vivian was your emotional support human, and Michelle was your fashion critic and healthy lifestyle planner. You didn't really mind since now they stopped being little bitches and you had free unpaid workers like Kim Kardashian
🎀you didn't even realize when your group suddenly started gathering attention. Becoming the most popular in the span of a few weeks, how? You didn't know. And quite frankly you didn't want to know. You just wanted a partner, good grades and a scholarship. Looks like your getting all three. People often crowded around your table or desk, trying to get all buddy buddy with you. Just for a little recognition. Your friends were docile until, well, the confessions came rolling in. But that's another story
Fun facts:
Cassidy goes by she/them and is a very friendly person. Naturally, people confess to her everyday but she only has eyes for you, bisexual!
Michelle's mom is a cop, and her dad a businessman so she comes from a somewhat well off family. She likes to go on shopping sprees and gives you any clothes she doesn't want, a lesbian in denial
Vivian is soft spoken and shy, wherever you are rest assured she's close behind, pansexual
kiross is inlove with you and it's very obvious, it's just that nobody brings it up, he goes by he/them and bisexual
Alexis is very demanding, you could consider him a female version of Michelle. Sometimes mich gives him any clothes she doesn't want, pansexual!
Daichio is a playboy and is good friends with kameron, he speaks English, japanese and currently learning Spanish, straight asshole. BORINGG

a/n: Seungkwan’s was initially the longest piece before I wrote Wonwoo’s whopping 12k novel in the OG series. I’ve grown as a writer since then so I wanted to explore more with writing for Seungkwan because while he’s my ult bias and the absolute love of my life, I actually don’t write a lot for him so when I do, I like to go a little above and beyond for my fellow Kwannie enthusiasts. So here’s the conclusion to our Lord and Savior, Boo Seungkwan’s part. Thank you so much for reading and if you enjoyed this part, please consider reblogging as it really helps me reach a larger audience. As always, this is a work of fiction and all characters are not reflective of their respective irl counterparts. for entertainment purposes only.

“Alright, everyone, places please!” Seungkwan called, clapping his hands and looking over the children.
“That’s my spot!”
“Stop shoving!”
“Mr. Seungkwan, Annie took my spot!”
“Hey, that’s mine!”
Seungkwan sighed as the kids around him bickered as they lined up. This was proving to be much for him to handle. Why didn’t he agree to have an assistant? He shook his head before calling over the children’s heads again.
“Please, everyone. We need to get back to practice!” he said. “Annie, your spot is here and Jordan, there you are. Stephen, please stop pushing, we don’t push. Carrie, give Dalton back his hat.” Wrangling twenty-one children was a lot of work but it was his job as a choir teacher at an elementary school.
Upon graduating from university, Seungkwan landed this job and was surprised to find he loved it. He loved singing and teaching. Sure, the kids were hard to control sometimes but they were kids after all. He knows he was probably a handful for his mother at that age.
Once the kids were in line, Seungkwan made sure they were all accounted for before beginning practice. He’d chosen to arrange a holiday choir for the school’s Holiday Festival and had given his students the option of joining, telling them they didn’t have to if they didn’t want to. The other music teacher, Molly, had offered to help him and Seungkwan politely turned her down, thinking he could manage.
To be fair, he could manage but only just. He was barely floating at this point and the kids, as much as he loved them, were wearing him and his patience thin. If this had been his friends, he would have already been yelling at them, cursing between every word but these were kids.
He unfortunately had to be the adult.
“Let’s take it from the top,” he instructed, holding his hands up to direct. “One, two, three…”
Tumblr media
Practice had gone about as well as he could expect. The kids were able to get through two of the planned songs before one of the boys, Evan, had a full blown meltdown over the girl next to him yawning. Thankfully the parents arrived to pick up their kids right after and Seungkwan was free to go home.
He stopped by the store on his way, remembering the grocery list on his phone. The store seemed to be a little busier than usual, the holidays being the time of the year where everyone was cooking and baking for family and entertaining friends. Seungkwan managed to snag a parking space close to the doors as a light mist started to fall over the city. He pulled his hat on and got out of his car, heading for the store quickly.
Once inside, he grabbed a cart, pulling out his phone to go over his list and start shopping. It wasn’t his favorite thing in the world but he really did relish the time he got alone in the store. It was the only place he could feel truly alone. At work, he was surrounded by children and at home, he shared an apartment with his best friends.
Seungkwan made a turn into an aisle, looking for pasta sauce when his cart ran into another and he stopped, apologizing profusely. His eyes looked up and widened in surprise as they landed on the person pushing the cart.
“Well, well, well, Boo Seungkwan,” you said with an amused smile. “Long time no see.”
Seungkwan offered a sheepish smile. What were the odds? He’d spilled his guts about the time you and he were camp counselors and hooked up at his last camping trip with his friends and here you were months later. It had been years since he’d seen you and he was captivated by the way you didn’t seem to have changed much but also at the same time, you changed a lot.
“Wow, Y/N,” he replied. “How have you been?” He watched as you shrugged. “Can’t complain,” you replied. “Just been working. I got back from an overseas assignment,” you added. Seungkwan looked at you with surprise. “Whoa, that’s amazing!”
“Yeah! It was really cool. But what about you? What have you been up to?” you asked.
Seungkwan felt his cheeks grow warm. “Uhm,” he hesitated. “I heard you got a job as a vocal teacher, is that right?” you asked. Seungkwan nodded wordlessly before finding his voice. “Yeah, I did,” he answered. “Elementary kids. They have music class divided. One vocal teacher and one music teacher.”
You smiled widely. “That’s great! I know how much you love working with kids.”
Seungkwan nodded. “Yeah, they’re really testing my patience though,” he added in an undertone making you laugh, throwing your head back. God how he had missed your laugh. “Boo Seungkwan, getting his patience tested? Unheard of,” you joked, making him join in your laughter.
“Yeah,” he started, reaching up to scratch the back of his neck. “It’s just we’re putting on this Holiday Festival and I’m in charge of the choir. These kids signed up for it, it’s not like this is for a grade,” he explained. “But they’re just so restless.”
You nodded as you listened to his worries.
“I’ve been trying to wrangle these kids but it’s really wearing me down,” he explained and you frowned slightly. “Do you need some help?” you asked, making him look up at you. “What?” he asked softly. You offered a warm smile. “I could help, if you’d like?”
Seungkwan couldn’t describe the relief he felt when you offered. Yet he knew he couldn’t accept your help so easily. “Oh no,” he said, shaking his head. “I couldn’t ask that of you,” he added. You shook your head with a light laugh. “You aren’t asking, Seungkwan,” you replied. “I’m offering.”
Seungkwan made a show of thinking about it before he gave in. “Yes, okay. I could really use some help,” he said quickly, making you giggle. “See? That wasn’t so hard,” you said with a smile as you pulled your phone out. “Is your number the same?”
“Uhh, no,” Seungkwan said, patting his pockets and managing to locate his phone. Once you had swapped new contact information, Seungkwan slipped the device back in his pocket. “I should probably finish this,” he said, gesturing to the shopping cart in front of him. You nodded, placing your hands on your own handlebar. “Same,” you replied. “My mom will kill me if I don’t get back with ample time for her to make dinner.” Seungkwan smiled as you looked up at him.
“Just text me the time and location of the next practice and I’ll be there.”
You let Seungkwan go first, watching as he disappeared around the corner before you headed on to finish your own shopping.
Seungkwan felt like he was speedrunning the rest of his shopping to get to the check out, hoping you might finish around the same time but unfortunately he didn’t see you again in the shop. Outside, he opened the trunk of his car, placing his groceries inside before shutting it and returning the cart.
On the drive home, Seungkwan reminisced about your time together at camp and your long standing rivalry. It wasn’t lost on him how things had changed over the years. In some of his free time, he found himself wondering what you were up to. How had life been treating you? What had changed?
After seeing you again, he was surprised to see not much had changed at all. Sure, you were both a little older, a little wiser, but you looked almost exactly the same. You had a different aura about you, though Seungkwan couldn’t pinpoint what it was exactly that was giving you said aura.
Upon arriving home, Seungkwan put the groceries away, taking note that his roommate was not home before he decided to start making dinner. While he cooked, his thoughts drifted to you before remembering he needed to text you where to meet him and what time.
He fished his phone out of his pocket and pulled up your contact, hesitating for a moment as he looked at your picture. It was one he’d taken of you at camp all those years ago. The last day he saw you before you both graduated from university and started working, no longer free to work summer camps.
Tumblr media
[flashback - 3 years ago]
“Wow,” you exclaimed, hand raised over your eyes as you shielded the sun and looked out over the ocean. “It’s so blue!” Seungkwan smiled as he looked at you. “Come on,” he said, tugging your hand. “Hang on,” you said, pulling from his grip and walking over the sand where the water was washing up onto the shore. “I’ve never been to the ocean,” you exclaimed with a laugh.
Seungkwan walked over slowly, watching you stand and wait for the water to return. As it washed over your barefeet, you squealed in excitement, looking up at him with a bright smile.
It was the last few days of the summer vacation before your final year of university. Soon you would be heading back home for school and after graduation, Seungkwan wasn’t sure when he’d see you again, if ever. He’d invited you to spend a couple weeks in Jeju with him, visiting his family before he, too, returned to school.
“We can come back,” he said, taking your hand in his and lacing your fingers together, giving you a slight tug. “There’s something I want to show you,” he added and led you away from the shoreline and back towards the path he’d been trying to take you on. He stopped, letting you brush the sand off your feet and put your sandals on before the two of you continued, walking along the path.
The hike wasn’t a long one and it wasn’t too extensive but it boasted arguably the best views on the island and even better was that only a handful of people knew about it. Seungkwan and his friends had stumbled upon the secluded area in middle school one summer and turned it into a haven of sorts.
As you climbed higher and higher into the mountains, you started to whine that you wanted to go back to the beach, making Seungkwan chuckle as he found the hidden path. “I promise this is worth it,” he said softly, pulling back some of the vegetation to reveal the hidden footpath that was much less traveled than the paved one you’d been walking on.
You eyed him suspiciously before stepping onto the path, Seungkwan right behind you. The path between the trees was narrow but Seungkwan kept close to you from behind, making sure you didn’t trip or stumble as you walked.
Soon the path opened up into a small clearing, overlooking the beach and the ocean. You let out a gasp as you stopped, turning to look back at Seungkwan who only smiled and gestured for you to continue.
It had been some time since Seungkwan had been here. The open area was covered overhead by the canopy of leaves and a wall of rocks lined the edge of the cliff. He and his friends had built it to feel a little safer in their youth. It also helped obscure the clear from the beach and made the area look and feel much more private.
“This is incredible, Kwan,” you said softly as you walked closer to the cliff’s edge. “Look at the ocean,” you whispered as he walked up to stand beside you. “It just stretches for miles.” Seungkwan said nothing, letting you soak in the view at your own pace. “It’s gorgeous,” you added, turning to smile at him before quickly looking back at the water as he looked at you.
“Yeah, you are,” he muttered, making you groan and playfully hit his shoulder. Your light punches didn’t seem to phase Seungkwan as he reached up, turning your face towards him as he leaned in, pressing his lips against yours. After a moment, he pulled back, a smile on his lips before he pressed a chaste kiss to your forehead and let go of your chin.
Seungkwan sat on a fallen log, one he and his friends had dragged up to the cliff and used as a makeshift bench. You joined him, leaning against him and resting your head on his shoulder as you both stared out over the water. Neither one of you spoke for several minutes that seemed to take hours to pass by.
“I’m gonna miss this place,” you said softly. “Gonna miss the beach, and the food,” you added. Seungkwan smiled, turning his head to kiss the top of your head. “We can always come back,” he said softly as you raised your head to look at him. “Come back?” you asked, brows knitting in confusion.
“Yeah,” Seungkwan said with a nod. “Next summer,” he continued. Your look of confusion was replaced with one of dejection. “I don’t know if that will be possible,” you said softly, turning to look away from him quickly. Seungkwan took your chin in his hand, forcing you to look at him.
“Why not?” he asked, searching your eyes for the answers but finding only despair. “We’re graduating,” you replied. “Once college is over, real life begins.” Seungkwan chuckled. “Well, of course,” he said, letting go of your chin. “But what does that have to do with --?”
“Who knows if we’ll even see each other again.”
The words you blurted out held a lot of weight and Seungkwan was aware of the fact that what you had shared over the last four summers couldn’t last forever but it still hit him in the gut like a strong punch. Despite knowing things might not ever progress to anything more than a regular summer fling, he still had hope. He had to. How could he not when he was desperately head over heels for you?
“Y/N,” he started, taking your hand in his, lacing your fingers together. “I know our paths only cross once a year and have for the last four years,” he continued. “But the thing about graduating college, becoming a full fledged adult, and joining the real world is that we get to decide where we go.”
You looked up from your intertwined hands at him as he looked up to meet your gaze.
“And who we go with.”
[end flashback - the present]
Tumblr media
He shook his head, pushing the memory down. Things hadn’t ended the way he’d hoped. He’d been so optimistic about the future you could have had but when graduation came around, he didn’t hear from you and he feared the worst. He’d tried looking you up on social media but never found a profile.
He eventually came to accept this and tried to move on but in the end, he was just too lovesick and so he pushed the memories and feelings down, repressing them rather than confronting them and moving on like a sane person would do.
But you were back. You were back and going to be working with him to get this choir show presentation ready. Seungkwan knew he’d be a fool if he let this opportunity slip him by so he needed a game plan.
The next day of practice for the children’s choir at the youth center came much faster than Seungkwan was prepared for and he was pleasantly surprised to see you waiting at the door for him, a coffee in either hand. You’d chosen to wear a turtleneck black dress that stopped just above the knee, sheer tights, knee high black boots and a cream colored long coat.
You looked like a vision as Seungkwan approached, giving him a warm smile. “Iced americano with extra liquid sugar?” you asked as you held out one of the cups of coffee. Seungkwan took it from you with a muttered thanks, his cheeks starting to grow warm.
“I can’t believe you remembered,” he added as he pulled the door open for you, allowing you inside first. You smiled, laughing softly as you walked together. “Of course I remembered,” you replied. “Listening to you place your order was always one of my favorite things when we were in Jeju.”
Seungkwan froze in his steps, causing you to turn. “Really?” he asked, genuinely surprised. You laughed again, nodding. “Yeah. I like listening to the way you said it in Korean. To be honest, I just like listening to you speak in Korean,” you added as he started to walk again, matching his pace.
Silence washed over the two of you as Seungkwan processed this information. Perhaps his plan to confess his feelings to you wasn’t such a bad idea after all but he needed more to go off of before he could just blurt out he was still in love with you.
“What else do you remember from Jeju?” he asked, trying to sound as nonchalantly as possible. You gave him a quick side glance. “I remember the beach,” you said softly as the two of you reached the room Seungkwan had been assigned for the practices.
He unlocked the door and opened it for you, letting you in first before following and turning on the light. “Just the beach?” he asked as he propped the door open and walked over to the desk, setting down his coffee and bag before shrugging off his coat.
He placed it on the back of the chair and turned to find you’d also stripped your coat off, allowing him to see you in your dress fully. It was a form-fitted cable knit sweater dress with long sleeves and turtleneck. The ends of the sleeves had black fuzzy cuffs. You turned to look at him.
“Not just the beach,” you replied, giving him  a very pointed look and Seungkwan couldn’t help but smile as a memory resurfaced from your time together in Jeju. He’d taken you all over the island, showing you his hometown, taking you to local spots as well as tourist ones. You’d tried local specialties, seen multiple sights but for him the best part of the trip was when you got back to the cabin you were staying in.
Whether it was making dinner together, watching a movie, or in the sheets, he had loved every minute spent with you in that cabin. It was almost like he imagined being married would be. The domesticity of it all. He loved making dinner with you in the kitchen as you joked around and then doing the dishes and cleaning up. He loved curling up on the sofa to watch a movie before retiring to bed.
Not to mention being able to have a taste of you almost every night was more than worth it.
“Ah,” he said, fighting the urge to smirk. So he wasn’t the only one who remembered the sex.
You turned away from him, pulling your phone out of your purse and checking that the sound was turned off before you walked over to the desk where Seungkwan stood. “I remember a lot about that summer,” you said, leaning against the desk and looking up at him. “Like what?” he asked.
He was pushing his luck and he knew it but he still wanted to hear you say it.
“The cliff,” you said, catching him off guard. “And the cabin,” you added, your lips pulling into a smirk.
Seungkwan felt heat rise to his face at the same time it started to settle in the pit of his stomach.
Before he could answer, he heard the sound of laughter in the lobby. ‘The kids,’ he thought as he walked over to the door and peered out. He turned back to you. “Alright, they’re here,” he said, looking back at you. “I’d like to introduce you to the parents, so they know you’re here.”
You nodded and walked over to where he stood. You watched him get into his element, greeting the kids and their parents as they wandered over to the door. True to his word, Seungkwan introduced you to all the parents who were more pleased than upset to see you, a stranger, would be helping Seungkwan.
Once all the kids had been dropped off and the parents informed of your presence, you followed Seungkwan back into the room to begin wrangling the kids.
“I need everyone’s attention!” Seungkwan called over the sounds of laughter and giggling.
To your shock, the kids immediately fell silent, turning their attention to their teacher. “We have a guest today,” Seungkwan continued and you saw several pairs of eyes fall on you. “This is my friend, Miss Y/N,” he announced. “She’s going to be helping us during practices. Everyone say ‘hello Miss Y/N!’”
You were suddenly greeted by a cacophony of children saying hello in unison. You smiled warmly around at them before repeating the same sentiment. “Hello everyone,” you said in a cheerful tone. “It’s nice to meet you all!”
Seungkwan launched immediately into practice, having you help him get the children into their places and assisting him in any way you could. It wasn’t particularly hard work and whenever the kids weren’t listening to Seungkwan speak, you were able to walk around the room and gently return their attention up front.
Once practice was over and the parents came to pick their kids up, you were sure you and Seungkwan could manage this. What was the worst that could happen?
The first couple days flew by, you had settled into a routine, bringing Seungkwan a coffee before each Saturday morning practice. You started bringing him breakfast just to make sure he’d eat something in the morning. Setting up the room and getting ready for the kids to arrive while you chatted and caught up with each others’ weeks.
Seungkwan had become extremely grateful for your help and presence. He felt that the children behaved much better with you around. He was grateful for the coffee and breakfast sandwiches you brought him, claiming they were store bought but he knew damn well you were getting up extra early to make him breakfast and stopping to grab coffee.
You also made sure he got lunch, even accompanying him after practice and cleaning up the room. He was looking forward to his Saturday mornings as it meant he got to spend them with you.
The last practice fell on a Friday before the Saturday show was one long practice and dress rehearsal rolled into one. The kids were now on winter break and being exceptionally restless that day and despite his best efforts, he just couldn’t get the kids to pay attention and behave. It was the one morning you hadn’t been able to join him immediately as you had a prior work engagement.
He was really starting to worry that they’d never get through practice when the door opened and you peered in. The kids looked up as you entered and excitedly greeted you as you shut the door behind you. In your arms was a green tub full of white paper sacks.
“Sorry I’m late,” you said as you walked over to the desk and set the tub down before shedding your jacket. The weather had warmed up a little, the remnants of the snow from before melting but another snow storm was due that night. “Hi Miss Y/N!” the kids chimed excitedly, waving.
You waved back as you set your jacket down. Today, you’d chosen to wear another dress. This one was more festive. It was a Christmas green fitted bodice with a circle skirt that fell to the middle of your thighs, and long fitted sleeves. The material looked like some type of velvet and Seungkwan briefly wondered what it would be like to run his hand over the material. He shook the thoughts from his head quickly.
You’d matched the dress with pantyhose, and white low heels. Your makeup was also very festive. A soft eyeshadow look with a bold dark green lip. It was striking and Seungkwan couldn’t take his eyes off of you as you walked over, carrying the tub.
“What’s that?” he asked, peering into the tub. Each bag had a little winter and holiday motif on it. Snowflakes, reindeer, santa, candy canes, and more adorned the bags. “I thought we could take a lunch break,” you said softly. “I checked with the parents and they said they would be extremely grateful for this. I also got dietary restrictions from them for their kids,” you explained under your breath.
Seungkwan’s eyes widened as you started to address the kids.
“How about we take a little break?” you asked, smiling around at them. “I asked your parents if I could bring lunch for you all and they said yes and they also told me what you couldn’t eat, so I went ahead and prepared some lunches!” you said excitedly, showing the contents of the tub to the kids who whispered excitedly.
“Let me help,” Seungkwan said softly, taking the tub from you. “You pass them out, I’ll carry this.”
You worked as a team, calling out names and passing the lunches to the kids. Once everyone had theirs, you told them to dig in before walking over to the desk and showing Seungkwan the lunch you’d grabbed for the two of you.
The kids sat on the floor in circles with their friends, talking animatedly while they ate their lunches. You pulled a chair up to the desk as Seungkwan opened the bag your food had come in. “You didn’t have to do all this,” he murmured so only you could hear. “Although I really appreciate it.”
You smiled as you unwrapped your sandwich. “I don’t mind,” you said softly. “And besides, it lets me use up the groceries I buy in bulk,” you added. “So,” you said as Seungkwan opened a bottle of cola, setting it in front of you before opening one for himself. “Tomorrow’s the big day,” you noted and he nodded, heaving a big sigh. “They’ve been so restless and rowdy all day,” he murmured, glancing over your shoulder at the children.
“I’ve been struggling to get through this practice.”
You smiled, taking a sip of your soda before swallowing. “Well, I’m here now,” you offered. “I’m sure together we can get them to behave long enough to get through practice.” Seungkwan didn’t miss the wink you threw his way. He also didn’t miss the way it made his heart skip a beat.
After lunch, the kids were allowed to rest and you pulled out homemade bingo boards and passed them around to the kids, also passing out bags with smashed marbles as you explained the rules. It was going to be musical bingo. It was going to test their memory of the songs they were going to sing for the show as well as their parts. Seungkwan felt like he could kiss you.
He decided to get some paperwork done while you kept the kids entertained.
It took a couple rounds before kids started getting bingos and it wasn’t until the last child called out a bingo that you ended the game and passed out rewards in the form of snacks and small toys you most likely grabbed from the dollar store.
“Now that we’ve had lunch and we’ve refreshed our memories,” you said as you finished packing up the boards and bags of markers. “Let’s continue this practice cause I know you’ve all got this and you’re going to totally rock this show!”
By the end of practice, Seungkwan wanted to ask you to marry him. You’d managed to turn the children from gremlins into calm little lambs and not only did they behave during practice but they were the best they’d ever been. As the kids were putting on their coats and thanking you for today, Seungkwan had one of his students come up and tug on his sleeve. It was one of the more quiet students.
“What is it, Stephanie?” he asked, squatting down to her level. “You have a really nice girlfriend, Mr. Seungkwan,” she said softly before sauntering off to join her friends. Seungkwan glanced up to where he saw you helping one of the kids put their coat on correctly.
His cheeks burned from the embarrassment and he suddenly wondered who else thought you were his girlfriend. He decided not to dwell on it as the parents started arriving. He’d bring it up to you later.
One by one, the kids were picked up until it was just you and Seungkwan in the room. He grabbed the empty tub and waited for you to put on your jacket and grab your purse before turning the light off and following you out the door, closing and locking it.
The two of you walked to the door and stopped. “Thank you for today,” he said softly. “It was a huge help.” You smiled at him as you wrapped a scarf around your neck. The sun was already starting to set and the temperature had dropped considerably as the weather predicted for the snow coming later.
“Let me walk you to your car.”
You thanked Seungkwan as he opened the door for you and walked into the parking lot. Your car wasn’t far into the parking lot and soon you had reached it, unlocking the doors. “Just put that in the backseat,” you said softly, pointing at the tub and opening the door for Seungkwan to place on the seat before shutting it again.
“You nervous about tomorrow?” you asked and Seungkwan shook his head. “No,” he answered. “I think you’re right. They’ve got this.” You smiled as you leaned against your car. Seungkwan contemplated telling you what Stephanie had said. ‘Just tell her, you idiot!’
“You know,” he started, a soft laugh escaping him. “I think my students are really fond of you.”
Another smile spread across your lips. “Not as fond as they are of you,” you replied and he shook his head. “They don’t like me that much.” You shook your head this time. “No, really. They adore you, Seungkwan. It’s really cute actually.”
Silence fell over the two of you for a beat. ‘It’s now or never.’
“Hey, after all of this is said and done,” Seungkwan started, drawing your attention. “Would you maybe want to--”
He was interrupted by the shrill ringing of your phone and you sighed, pulling the device out, glancing at the screen before giving him an apologetic look and answering it. “Yes, mom?” you asked and Seungkwan forced a smile. ‘Cockblocked by the mom. Great.’
You waited, listening to what your mother had to say, nodding along before finally answering. “Yeah, sure. I can swing by the store on my way home.” You looked at Seungkwan and playfully rolled your eyes. “Yeah, we’re leaving just now. So I’ll be home soon… okay. Yep. Love you, too.”
You said bye, hanging up and slipping your phone back into your pocket and looking up at Seungkwan. “Sorry about that,” you said breathlessly. “You were saying?”
Seungkwan looked up, meeting your gaze. ‘Come on, she’s waiting!’
But it was no use. His momentary confidence was gone.
“It’s nothing,” he replied with a smile. “Just, get home safe, okay?” he asked, starting to turn away but stopped when you gently grabbed his arm, making him turn back to face you. “Don’t do that,” you said softly. “I know you want to say something. Don’t psyche yourself into not saying it. Just ask me.”
Seungkwan cleared his throat, cheeks burning from having been caught. You knew him far too well for his own good. He nodded, taking a deep breath. “I thought that maybe when everything is said and done, we could get dinner?” A smile spread across your face and you leaned in, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “I’d love that,” you replied. “Just tell me when and where.”
Seungkwan nodded, stepping back as you opened your door and got in, turning on the car and rolling your window down. “Text me when you get back to your mom’s safe, okay?” he said, leaning down to look into your window. You nodded up at him. “You too. Let me know when you get home.”
Seungkwan promised he would before saying he would see you tomorrow and watching you drive off as the first few flurries of snow fell. He glanced up at the sky and closed his eyes, letting out a sigh. It wasn’t exactly according to plan, but it was better than nothing.

The next morning, the day of the choir show, Seungkwan woke up to a blanket of snow covering the ground but thankfully the road crews were out clearing the roads and treating them for ice. Seungkwan went about his day as usual, nerves setting in.
He wasn’t nervous for the show, but because of you. The kiss last night, even if it was on the cheek, felt extremely intimate for some reason. He chalked it up to him being overly optimistic but he was going to ride that wave for as long as he could.
As the day wore on, Seungkwan got ready for the show. The attire was festive so he chose a red sweater and a pair of black slacks and black shoes, grabbing the green and red striped elf hat and his coat before leaving the apartment. He was thankful for his building’s parking garage as he walked into the covered space, locating his car and getting in.
The concert was to be performed inside the gymnasium at the community center while the rest of the festival took place in the halls and outside. He arrived early, finding a cleared parking lot and pulled into a space before getting out and moving to the trunk of his, pulling out the box of reindeer antlers for the kids.
He walked up to the doors, thanking the man who held it open for him as he exited.
Once inside, Seungkwan made his way to the gym, greeting the staff as he walked up to check in.
He looked at the list and saw you had already arrived, his heart beating erratically in his chest.
‘What is wrong with you? Calm down!’
Seungkwan entered the gymnasium and looked around, astonished at the work put into decorating the space. His eyes landed on you over by the small stage that had been erected, talking to one of the staff members. He walked over, eyes scanning your figure.
You’d really dressed up for the occasion. The dress you wore was another green one but under this one, you wore a white petticoat, fluffing up the skirt. The bodice was fitted but instead of long sleeves, it had short off-the-shoulder cap sleeves. You had on a green Santa hat with white fur trim and the trim of your dress matched the hat. You paired the dress with some pantyhose and a black pair of shoes, ones that Seungkwan was impressed to see had red bottoms.
He approached you, setting the box of antlers on the top of the piano, drawing both yours and the staff members’ attention. Your face lit up upon seeing him, giving him a quick once over. Your makeup was similar to yesterday only your eyes had more shimmer and your lips were a deep red.
Seungkwan sighed dramatically before gesturing at the box. “These feel like they weigh a ton!” he whined and you chuckled lightly at him, turning back to the staff member before she departed, leaving you and Seungkwan alone in your little corner.
“You look incredible,” he said softly. “Th-thanks,” you stuttered, turning away to busy yourself with the box of antlers. “Not gonna lie, I kinda of want to wear these,” you joked. Seungkwan smiled, pointing to your hat. “But your hat matches so well,” he commented. You shrugged. “Maybe I want something different,” you replied cheekily. Seungkwan shook his head, turning away.
When his back was turned, you were quick to grab his hat off his head. Seungkwan spun around, eyes wide and you forced your hat into his hands. “You should have the Santa hat,” you said, putting his hat on your head. “I’m your assistant. I should have the elf ears.”
Seungkwan rolled his eyes, smiling all the same as he turned back around. “You’re silly,” he murmured as he picked the box up and moved it over to the side of the stage near the steps and out of the way as you sat on the piano bench.
Seungkwan felt his phone buzz in his pocket and pulled it out, checking the screen to see Molly was calling him before answering it. “Hey, Molly,” he said softly, glancing at you before paying attention to his co-worker.
“Seungkwan, I’m so sorry!” Molly said, her voice sounding hysterical. “Whoa, whoa, are you okay?” Seungkwan asked, excusing himself and walking a short distance away from where you sat, keeping his voice down as he spoke.
You turned your head, wondering who Molly was and how Seungkwan knew her. ‘Probably his girlfriend,’ you thought to yourself. ‘Or possibly a wife,’ a voice in the back of your brain said. You mentally shook that idea away. ‘He’s not married,’ you told yourself. ‘He would have mentioned that.’
You glanced Seungkwan’s way and saw him nervously biting at his thumbnail. The look on his face was one of distress. ‘That can’t be good…’
A few moments later, after nodding and murmuring a few words you couldn’t hear, Seungkwan hung up, placing his phone back in his pocket and walked over, taking a seat beside you and hanging his head, elbows resting on his thighs.
“That doesn’t sound good,” you said as he let out a deep sigh. “Molly can’t make it,” he said softly, shaking his head. “Oh,” you replied, not sure how to respond. You had no idea who Molly was. “Is that your girlfriend?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
Seungkwan’s head snapped up and he gave you a bewildered look. “What? No,” he replied, sounding confused. “Molly is the music teacher at the school I work at. She teaches music and I teach vocals,” he explained. “She was supposed to be our accompaniment.”
You mentally scolded yourself before perking up. “Wait,” you said quickly, making Seungkwan look up. “Piano, right?” you asked, turning to him. Seungkwan nodded slowly as a smile spread across your face.
“How much time do we have before the concert?”
Seungkwan narrowed his eyes before checking his watch. “An hour,” he replied, looking back up at you as you stood up and turned to face the piano, lifting the key cover and opening the music book. “Let me run through these songs real quick and I can do it,” you told him.
Seungkwan has lost track of how many times he wanted to kiss you for literally saving the day. “No fucking way,” he laughed in disbelief as you started warming up, flexing your fingers. “It’s been a few years since I’ve played,” you explained, fingers gliding over the keys as you read the sheet music before pausing to look at him.
“But I think I got this.”

Not only did you manage to run through the entire set a couple times with Seungkwan but you followed the kids perfectly, surprising Seungkwan and yourself. When the show came to a close, Seungkwan hurried over to you, a man you’d never seen following him.
“Y/N,” he said as you stood up, brushing off your dress. “This is Jihoon,” he explained, introducing the man who smiled politely at you, a woman standing off to the side on her phone behind him. “JIhoon, this is Y/N,” he said, introducing you excitedly.
You didn’t miss the way Jihoon’s eyes widened slightly, glancing at Seungkwan before looking quickly back at you. “It’s nice to meet you,” Jihoon said, giving you a polite nod. “Sorry, Kwan,” Jihoon said, turning to his friend. “But I’ve got plans.” You noticed how he glanced at the woman who smiled at you and Seungkwan. “We’ll catch up soon,” Jihoon added before waving and walking over to the woman and the pair headed for the gymnasium exit.
Seungkwan stared after them before turning to you. “Sorry about that,” he said softly, taking your green hat off his head. “Jihoon is one of my friends I told you about.” You smiled as he handed your hat back and took his hat off your head, passing it back to him.
“The friends you go camping with, right?” you asked, glancing at the green Santa hat in your hands. “Yeah,” Seungkwan said softly. Silence fell over the two of you briefly before you looked up at Seungkwan. “You want to check out the rest of the festival?” A grin spread over his face before he nodded. “Sure,” he said.
“Why not? You saved the show after all. I’d do anything you asked me to, right now.”
As the festival went on, you dragged Seungkwan outside, donning your coats and walking around the ice sculpture display as well as the holiday lights, taking pictures. Despite the freezing temperatures, Seungkwan still found himself having a good time. Up until you dragged him into a photobooth.
“Nothing good happens in photobooths,” his roommate, Vernon, once told him. As you squeezed into the tight space, you scrolled through the frame options until you settled on one and pushed the button. The first set of pictures turned out okay, some of them sort of awkward so Seungkwan was determined to get ones you could proudly display.
The first picture was just a nice one of the two of you smiling. Then you separate your pointer and index fingers into V’s before putting them upside down to your head, like cat ears which Seungkwan followed. You turned to look at him, laughter on your tongue and he just acted.
His hands went to the sides of your neck, pulling you into a kiss as the flash continued, the pictures all but forgotten as soon as your lips met. It was like time stood still, your heart pounding in your chest. You felt Seungkwan’s tongue swipe over your bottom lip and you parted your lips, letting his tongue slide into your mouth, a muffled groan coming from his chest as he pressed further into you.
After what felt like forever but was probably only a few moments, he pulled back, looking at you with heavy lidded eyes, his cheeks tinged red. His lips were slightly stained from your lipstick but he couldn’t care less and neither could you.
You panted, trying to catch your breath as you stared back before Seungkwan finally spoke, breaking the silence, leaning his forehead against yours.
“God, I love you.”
Your eyes snapped open and you looked up at him. “What?” you whispered.
The moment the words left his mouth, Seungkwan knew he was screwed. He hadn’t meant to say it out loud but he just couldn’t hold it in anymore. There was no doubt in his mind that he was hopelessly and shamelessly still in love with you.
He pulled back, taking a deep breath and opening his eyes to meet your confused gaze.
“I love you,” he repeated. “I have ever since Jeju. Actually, since before Jeju,” he explained. “I’ve thought about no one else but you since then. When it’s just me and my thoughts alone, you occupy them. When I see something that reminds me of you, you’re just there. I don’t mean for it to sound so weird but I never stopped loving you,” he continued, cupping your cheeks gently.
“I just repressed all my feelings instead of dealing with them like an adult and --”
You pulled him into a kiss by the collar of his sweater, your lips meeting his and shutting him up mid sentence. When you pulled back, Seungkwan looked properly shocked. “Seungkwan,” you said softly, lips ghosting over his. “Yeah?” he whispered.
“Take me home,” you repeated, your voice barely above a whisper. His expression shifted and he nodded. “Oh, okay,” he murmured, pulling back. “I thought you drove here.” Your smile dropped before you sighed, rolling your eyes.
“I meant take me to your home, you idiot.”
His brow furrowed in confusion before the meaning of your words sank in and his eyes widened comically. “Oh!” he said loudly before you clapped your hand over his mouth. “Shh, shut up!” He nodded, pulling your hand from his mouth.
“Right,” he said, his voice lower again. “I’ll take you home,” he said softly.
You grabbed the two strips of photos from the photobooth and allowed Seungkwan to lead you from the festival, making his way over to his car. He unlocked the door and opened it for you, shutting the door and quickly jogging around to the driver’s side before getting in and starting the engine.
The drive back to his place, he tried to obey the traffic laws, he really did, but he was just too eager and impatient. When you noticed his knee bouncing, you reached over, taking his hand gently. “We have all night,” you said softly. “No need to be anxious.” Seungkwan shook his head, giving your hand a gentle squeeze.
“I’m not anxious,” he replied. “I’m impatient.”
Not long after, Seungkwan was pulling into his designated parking space, cutting the engine and making you wait so he could open your door for you. Inside the building, you tried to behave and keep your hands to yourself but the moment you entered the elevator, you lost your resolve.
“Oh, shit,” Seungkwan cursed as you pushed him back against the mirrored surface of the elevator wall, his hands moving to cup your face. “We shouldn’t be doing this here,” he grunted before taking your lips in a kiss, his tongue hot and messy against yours as your hands pulled at his clothes.
“Ssstop it!” he hissed, breaking the kiss and glancing up at the camera mounted to the shiny elevator ceiling. “Someone’s probably watching,” he whined, hands falling to your hips as your lips moved down his neck. “Then let’s give them a show,” you giggled in his ear, your breath tickling his skin.
The elevator dinged, Seungkwan pushing you back slightly. “We’re here,” he confirmed as the doors opened onto his floor. He took your hand and pulled, tugging you down the deserted hallway towards the door to his apartment. You were only able to get a brief glance at your surroundings as Seungkwan fished for his keycard.
The building was a new building, state of the art card readers on every door. The hallway reminding you of a fancy upscale hotel rather than an apartment building. Seungkwan managed to get the card to read properly and turned the handle, shoving the door open as he dragged you in behind him.
Once the door clicked shut, he had you pinned against it, lips attaching to your neck and leaving soft bites and kisses as he made his way down to your collar, whining at the lack of access due to your blazer. He fumbled with the button, succeeding a moment later and peeling the garment off you.
You kicked your heels off as he stumbled to take his shoes off. You giggled as he pulled you through the apartment, pushing you against the kitchen island as he grinded into you from behind, teeth grazing against the skin of your shoulder. You managed to stumble your way through the apartment to his bedroom, pulling layer after layer of clothes off one another, leaving you in just your underwear.
Once you were laid on the bed, Seungkwan hesitated, taking in your form under him. He could remember the last time he had you like this and it made his cock throb, wanting to bury himself inside you and never leave again.
“God,” he groaned, leaning down to press his face into your chest, his hips resting against yours as he lay between your thighs. “I’ve missed you so much,” he whined. “Kwannie,” you whined, combing your fingers through his hair, undoing the style he’d done earlier before the concert. He lifted his head, pushing himself up and hovering over you.
“Lay back,” you instructed, starting to sit up but Seungkwan placed a hand on your shoulder, gently pushing you back against the mattress. “Later,” he whispered, lowering his face to kiss your chest. “I just really wanna taste you,” he murmured, his voice muffled as he kissed down your stomach.
“Wanna bury my face between these beautiful thighs,” he groaned, gripping your thigh, his fingers pressing into your skin over your stockings. “Okay,” you breathed as he kissed further down. He wasted no time removing your panties, flinging them away as he settled between your thighs, kissing the inside of each before his mouth descended on your sex, fingers spreading your folds.
You gasped out as he licked slowly up your sex, lips wrapping around your clit as he sucked. You propped yourself up on your elbows to look down at him. His eyes opened lazily as he made eye contact before shutting again as he threw himself into it, tongue wiggling against you, slurping and lapping at your clit. You felt his fingers prodding at your entrance, slipping inside you until he was knuckles deep.
“Ngh, Seungkwan,” you groaned, back arching off the mattress as he teasingly curled his fingers. “Sound so pretty for me,” he noted, barely pulling back enough to speak before he was licking at your clit, tongue moving quickly against it. His fingers started to pump slowly, just enough to build the tension but he would slow them to a stop when he felt your walls start to flutter.
“Can’t have you coming undone just yet,” he murmured, placing a kiss to your mound before pulling back, resting his head against the inside of your thigh as his fingers moved quicker, scissoring you open. He watched the rise and fall of your lace clad chest, admiring the way you whimpered and mewled as he fingered you.
“I could do this for hours,” he huffed, hot breath fanning over your skin. “D-don’t,” you murmured. “I need you, Kwannie.” You heard him chuckle lowly. “You need me?” he asked, raising his head slightly, turning to place a wet kiss against your thigh.
“Need me to stuff this pretty little pussy full?”
You nodded wordlessly, moans spilling from your lips instead of words. Seungkwan felt his heart swell. Seeing you needy and proclaiming that you needed him certainly was fanning the flames and stroking his ego. He wanted you to want him. Wanted you to need him. He loved feeling this way.
The way you made him feel. Like he was so irresistibly sexy. He loved feeling that way.
“Wanna feel me inside?” he asked, his voice dropping an octave. You groaned, walls tightening around his fingers. “You like it when I talk like this?” he asked, raising himself just enough to see your face contorted in pleasure. You nodded fervently, another moan ripping from you as he curled his fingers.
“Wanna feel my cock pound this tight pussy?”
Seungkwan enjoyed the way you tensed up, thighs shaking as your orgasm threatened to wash over you. “I’ll give you what you want,” he murmured. “But only if you do something for me,” he added. You raised yourself up, resting on your elbows to look at him, a thin layer of sweat on your forehead. “Anything,” you whined. Seungkwan’s eyebrow quirked up. “Anything?” he asked.
You nodded, not realizing the implications of your words. “Yes,” you replied. “Anything. I’ll do whatever you ask, just please fuck me.” Seungkwan’s lips curled into a smile as he added a third finger, stretching your walls to prepare you. He glanced down, watching his fingers sink into your heat.
“Alright,” Seungkwan murmured, pulling his fingers from your cunt and bringing his hand to your lips. “Suck,” he ordered, cock twitching as you parted your lips and accepted his fingers into your mouth, licking and sucking them clean. He pulled his fingers from your mouth.
“Keep going,” he continued, moving a hand over his hard cock. You took the hint instantly, pushing him onto his back and slipping your fingers under the waistband of his underwear, pulling them down as he lifted his hips. You licked your lips as his cock sprang up, standing proud.
You wasted no time, taking him in your fist and leaning over, spitting onto the tip and using your saliva to lubricate, your hand started to stroke him quickly. Seungkwan let out a groan, head falling back against the bed as your hand worked him.
When you took the head in your mouth, he thought he’d died and gone to heaven, letting out a pretty pathetic moan but you didn’t seem to mind as you bobbed your head, keeping your fist at the base of his cock. Seungkwan’s hand moved, stroking your hair as he tried to push your head down further but you were firm and stood your ground.
“Please,” he whined, hips starting to buck. You pulled off him with a pop, looking at him as your hand moved up and down his cock. “Be patient,” you reminded him. “You made me wait,” you added. Seungkwan was about to retort when you took him back in your mouth, lips moving down to meet your hand as you continued to stroke him. He let out a groan instead, fingers digging into the bedding beneath him. “Fuck,” he grunted, stomach clenching. “Just like that. Just like that, baby.”
You hummed, your mouth vibrating around Seungkwan’s cock and making him gasp, hips bucking into your face. “Sh-shit!” he breathed. “Sl-slow down, babe.” You pulled him from your mouth, jerking him faster. “M’gonna cum if you keep doing that,” he warned. You licked the head of his dick, swirling your tongue around the tip before sinking your mouth back on him.
“Fuck, babe, m’gonna cum,” he warned again. You pulled back, your hand stopping at the base of his cock and letting it fall slightly. Seungkwan let out a whine of protest. “What the hell!” he cried. You smiled at him, pressing a kiss to the tip of his cock. “Can’t have you cumming just yet,” you said with a wink.
Seungkwan could have kicked himself. ‘Of course she’s gonna use that against you. Idiot.’
You continued to work him up, bringing him to the brink only to back off and let it slip away from him. Seungkwan was a mess, begging you to stop teasing him and to let him fuck you already.
“Please, baby,” he said, choking back a sob, tears threatening to spill. “Please let me fuck you. I need to be inside you. Please, baby. Please.” Your hand slowed to a stop, lightly squeezing his cock before you sat up. “Okay,” you murmured.
You climbed over him, turning to face away as you planted your hips over his thighs. Seungkwan watched as you grinded backwards against his cock, the sensation of your panties against his throbbing cock almost making him burst into tears. “B-baby. God, fuck. Please. Let me put it in. Let me fuck you. I promise I’ll make you feel so fucking good!”
You scooted back further, reaching down to pull your panties aside and rub your dripping cunt against the underside of Seungkwan’s cock. The glide and friction felt so good, Seungkwan was certain he could have blown his load right then but just as quickly as it started, you lifted off him.
“Y/N, please,” he pleaded as you climbed off him. “Please let me fuck you.”
You grabbed his hand and pulled him up as you laid back. “Only if you fuck my thighs first,” you replied, looking up at him through your lashes. Seungkwan melted, moving quickly into position. “O-Okay?” he answered, sounding mildly confused.
You smiled up at him, taking his hand on your knee and placing it between your thighs, pressing it against your soaked panties. “I know you couldn’t get enough of my stockings earlier,” you explained. “You thought you were being slick and that I wouldn’t notice the way you were staring. But I did.”
Seungkwan groaned, moving his thumb to press against your clit through the red lace lingerie.
“And you like this set,” you added, hands moving to cup your breasts. “I noticed the way your eyes lit up when you saw it,” you added. Seungkwan nodded, licking his lips as he brought his free hand up to push one of your hands away, groping your chest. “Fuck,” he said hoarsely. “I do.”
“I fucking love how you look in it.”
You hummed in response, bringing your thighs up. “Then do me a favor and fuck my thighs,” you replied. “And then I’ll let you fuck this pussy. Raw.” Seungkwan choked on his own air as he moved into position, pushing your thighs tighter together. He brought his hand up to his mouth, spitting into it before coating his cock. He guided the head between your thighs, pushing in between them with a groan.
It was so warm and soft. Tight. Almost like fucking you for real.
“Feels so good,” you heard him groan as he pulled back slightly to thrust back in slowly. You felt his saliva smear over your skin as his cock glided between your thighs. “Mmm, that’s it,” you murmured, looking up at him as his eyes fluttered shut, brown knitting together in concentration as he tried to focus.
“That’s good,” you groaned as you felt his cock bump against your cloth covered clit. “Just like that.”
Seungkwan’s fingers dug into your thighs, holding them together tightly as he thrust his hips, fucking between your thighs. “Oh fuck,” he moaned, eyes fluttering open to look down at you. The red lingerie, the black stockings and black garter belt. You were an absolute vision.
“C-can I fuck you now?” Seungkwan asked, tripping over his words as he continued to fuck your thighs. You shook your head, gasping again as you felt his cock nudge against your clit through your panties. “N-not yet-- ah!” you gasped.
Seungkwan took note of your reaction every time his cock brushed against your clit and continued to aim for the same spot. “Come on, princess,” he moaned. “Let me fuck you.” You stared up at him for a moment longer before stopping him.
You sat up, pushing him back against the mattress. You climbed over him, straddling his hips as you reached down, pulling your panties to the side. Seungkwan guided the head of his cock to your entrance, watching as you sank down, cunt enveloping him little by little.
You continued until you were sitting on him, walls gripping his cock tightly. Seungkwan let out a satisfied groan as your walls convulsed around his throbbing length. He wouldn’t last long but he didn’t care. He was inside you again after years. It felt so good. So familiar. So right.
After allowing your walls to relax around him, you placed your hands on his chest, raising your hips only to sink back down, his cock pumping into you. “F-fuck,” you groaned as you sank down, taking more of his cock.
“Ye-yes!” Seungkwan groaned as you started to move fast, bouncing on his cock. The wet sound of his cock entering you repeatedly filled the room, bouncing off the walls and drowning out your breathy moans. You felt his hands grip your hips, trying to speed up your movements.
You slowed to a stop, pushing yourself up until he slipped out of you. “Yah!” Seungkwan protested as you turned to face away, pulling your panties aside and waiting for him to move his cock. Once you felt the tip enter your cunt, you were back to moving, bouncing on his lap, his cock plunging into you.
You felt him grab your hips, one hand moving to massage your ass. “Fuck, we should have done this sooner,” he groaned, hips bucking up to meet your movements. You placed your hands on his thighs to steady yourself as you continued to ride him.
“Stay like that,” you heard him groan and felt his weight under you shift as he sat up. “Keep going,” he urged, trying to move your hips. You lifted your ass, sinking back on him. His hands pulling you back when you lifted up. You felt heat pool in your belly, a swelling sensation as tension mounted.
Each matched thrust had you crying out. Seungkwan pulled you off him, moving to kneel behind you before reentering you. “Come on,” he grunted, now meeting your movements with ferocity. “Fuck me like you mean it,” he growled. You let out a mewl, thighs shaking as his hips hit your ass, the slapping growing louder into a clap. “Fuck,” you gasped as Seungkwan pushed your chest down, taking over as he pounded into you from behind.
“Yeah, that’s right,” he growled. “Who’s the one fucking you this good?”
“Yuh-you are!” you stammered. “I am,” he reaffirmed. “I’m fucking you like the good little slut you are. My good little slut. Such a little whore for me, aren’t you?” You nodded, fingers clenching the sheets as you pushed back to meet his movements.
Each thrust drew a little whimper from you, sounds that grew into moans and mewls as Seungkwan continued to fuck you hard. “Who does this pussy belong to?” you heard him ask suddenly, one of his hands moving to the back of your neck and pushing your face down, squishing your cheek against the sheets. “You,” you gasped, your orgasm approaching rapidly.
“Say it,” Seungkwan commanded.
“It’s yours!” you cried out. “This pussy belongs to you!”
“Fucking right it does. And m’gonna fill it up until you’re dripping. M’gonna cum inside this pretty little pussy, stuff it full, and then fuck it further into you. Pump you full of my cum ‘cause you’re mine. Understand?”
You nodded wordlessly, moan after moan tumbling from your lips onto the sheets along with your drool. “You’re mine and no one else’s! Say it!”
“I-I’m yours! A-and no one else’s!”
You heard Seungkwan groan, hips stuttering as he came, his cock twitching as he painted your walls with his hot thick load. He continued to thrust as he emptied his balls. You whimpered as he didn’t stop, hips still moving as he finally stopped pumping you full.
“Kw-Kwannie, please,” you pleaded. “S-stop. M’so full.”
Seungkwan’s hips came to a stop as he caught his breath. Somewhere between his initial release and the last of his cum spilling into you, your own orgasm had washed over you, rendering you immobile for a few moments as you came down.
You gasped as you felt Seungkwan pull from you, feeling some of his cum mixed with yours slide down the inside of your thigh. “Let me clean that up,” he mumbled. The weight on the bed shifted as he no doubt got up and walked into his bathroom.
He returned moments later, carefully wiping your skin with a warm, damp cloth. He climbed into bed next to you, pulling the covers up over the both of you before you both passed out. The next morning, you awoke to the bluish light of twilight filtering into the room.
You could hear Seungkwan’s soft snores behind you, his arm wrapped around your waist as he slept peacefully. You started to roll over, a deep aching pain settling between your legs and making you wince. ‘We didn’t even go that hard last night,’ you thought to yourself as you peered over your shoulder at Seungkwan, taking in his angelic expression.
You tried to carefully roll in his hold but you jostled him and he started to stir, making you curse internally. You watched as his eyes fluttered open sleepily. When his eyes met yours, he smiled sleepily. “Morning,” he murmured, his voice deep from having just woken up.
“Morning,” you replied softly. Seungkwan leaned in, pressing a chaste kiss against your lips. “My head is killing me,” he whined suddenly and you were glad it wasn’t just you. “We should get some food,” you suggested. “Maybe make some ramyeon.” Seungkwan nodded, rolling onto his back and turning his head to look at the clock. “Later,” he murmured, rolling back to face you, wrapping both arms around your body and pulling you flush against him.
“It’s only half past five in the morning,” he explained, tucking your head under his chin and sighing contentedly. “We can sleep in longer,” he added. You nodded silently, snuggling up next to him. “And then we can make food?” you asked, smiling as you felt him nod. “And then we can make food,” he confirmed.
It was silent only for a few moments before Seungkwan spoke again.
“I don’t want you to leave,” he murmured, breaking the silence. You smiled, tilting your head to press a kiss to his jawline. “Well, I just moved back to the area,” you replied. “Good,” you heard him murmur. “I don’t think I could survive you leaving again like before.” You felt his lips press against your forehead.
You shook your head, letting out a relieved sigh. “Nah,” you answered.
“You aren’t getting rid of me that easily.”

One of my friends asked me to do this for her so buckle up. (I’m the editor btw, ur welcome. This story was horrendous in terms of spelling and grammar when it was sent to me 😭)
AITA for yelling at one of my classmate because she didn’t want to sing in her choir class?
I, (17f) and one of my peers, (15 f) were in choir class one day, and she decides to not take part when we were practicing our Christmas carols. She sits on the floor and just plays away on her phone, not paying attention. I decide to walk over to her and ask what’s up. She tells me that she feels pressured to sing, and that she shouldn’t have to, because of her anxiety. Yeah, we all have anxiety (well, most of us do) yet here we are in choir class. It doesn’t make sense to me, so yeah, I got a little mad. I told her “well, you shouldn’t have signed up for choir, if you’re not comfortable singing!” And she tells me, “I DO love singing, when I want to! But if people like you are forcing me to, I feel pressured!” I yelled back. “Well GET OVER IT, BECAUSE YOU SIGNED UP FOR THIS!” “I KNOW I DID, I JUST FEEL TOO PRESSURED!”
We yelled back and forth for a little bit, until the bell rang, and she ran out of the room crying.
I find out later that she’s twisting the story to put her in the right. She ALWAYS does this, she loves to make herself the main character. She sends a copied and pasted message to all of her friends, and one of them lets her know with screenshots, tagging her on Snapchat. (editor note here: I have those screenshots if anyone wants to see) In those screenshots, she talks about how she was working on her music and just resting, when I came up and started “saying sh-t from 3-4 feet away.”
I later learned that two of my friends were on call with her during 5th period, (editor: I was one of them, it was really interesting) and she’s twisted the story yet again, saying that it was the TEACHERS who yelled at her, not me. She also talked about going home because “all the yelling made her feel sick.” And this whole story is making ME feel sick.
(Hey, it’s me again, and I want to share I little of my story, don’t worry, it won’t be too long.)
So I heard about all of this during 4th period, science class, when two of my friends got into an argument over text about it, and how one was in the wrong and the other wasn’t. I didn’t think much about it until 5th period, when I met up with one of my friends and they told me the whole story. One of my other friends came over and sat by us as we called her, and she was laying in her bed, and she sounded absolutely fine. She talked about all this that was stated above. Me and the other guy were supposed to stay silent, because if she knew we were on the phone she would refuse to talk. She didn’t know she was on speaker either. It’s really wild and honestly some of the craziest drama I’ve been a part of. Good news is my old friend group is back together
so, internet, do your thing.
AITA?
What are these acronyms?

It's apparently Little Shop of Horrors day, so let me tell you all about the time I was house manager for the worst musical of, if not all time, the 20zeroes.
I was a theater kid in a school that did NOT do musicals. For crosstown rivalry reasons and a bunch of other stuff. The other high school did musicals so all you choir divas go try out over there. Also casting at my high school was highly correlated with seniority, AKA you were more likely to get speaking parts as an upperclassman, assuming you had been in any play before.
However, my junior year we got a new drama teacher, and therefore a budget, and therefore a spate of more musicals and small cast plays to perform. I got cast in zero things because my acting was pretty mid and my ability to sing is... not. However I was both one of the few non-graduating upperclassmen and The Responsible One and my presence building set / herding freshman / going off book early resulted in fewer stitches, so I got to be house manager. In high school theater, house manager shows up at call to help with things, then opens the ticket booth, answers questions on the walkie, and is the person fourteen year old ushers come to when somebody's mom needs to be sent to the special hell for people who talk on their cell phones in the theater. We did our very first school musical in like a decade, Little Shop of Horrors, in january.
If the Gifs have not clued you in, Little Shop of Horrors is the story of a florist's assistant who mistakes a man eating alien for a talking plant and decides to feed his crush's abusive boyfriend to it. This is not a weird plot for musicals, BUT it requires some prep work. 1) The Chorus tells a lot of the story, so in order to Give Everyone A Chance and to keep everyone's barely trained vocal chords in good shape, we double casted the chorus. Meaning that on nights where they weren't singing, they were supposed to usher, because we never had enough ushers and there were too many of them for all of them to fulfil their crew obligations building set.
2) There are three chorus leads. Some performances have them be the whole chorus but our director had ambitions, so we had three chorus leads and like ten background chorus members per chorus. Performing alternating nights. In the same set of matching RENTED costumes. (Background chorus wore their choir performance duds I think.) 3) Audrey 2, the "plant" is a puppet of some description, large enough to eat a successful dentist. Meaning that somebody has to be mic'd up to voice him, and somebody ELSE has to make him move. And you have to get him on and off stage, or configure the stage in such a way that he can be covered up. Ours rolled. I had only occasionally been on set crew for Little Shop, and most of the chorus hadn't been at all because of their choir schedules, so I rolled up opening night at half past call expecting an hour of running errands for people and an easy house opening. The Stage Manager handed me my walkie and said "I already hate this," which was just her personality regarding opening nights but which should have been a warning. I was quickly informed that The Chorus was being kept in the empty choir room upstairs of the stage because there were too many of them to stay in the dressing rooms, so there was going to be a LOT of walkie chatter about cues. We also had to shuffle in a dude from light crew to drop the show's only F-bomb, because the freshman voicing Audrey 2 hadn't known it existed when he tried out and was now in a tizzy because his Very Religious Grandma was coming. So I had to keep an aisle clear up in the nosebleeds so a crew guy could sneak in the dark from the spotlights to the sound booth to delightedly yell Fuck into the microphone. "We never get people in the nosebleeds anyway," I told Stage Manager, who shrugged unhappily. "Chorus of twenty. Choir kids. Musical."
Spotlight guy, passing by, said something like "I can handle it."
I did some emergency stitching on somebody's loose costume button, sorted out some props, ran around blocking off or opening doors, and then opened the house. With ONE usher because the Chorus Ushers were late. "Isn't their call time twenty to opening?" I asked the one reliable usher, who was build crew only, and he shrugged. I told him to put people as far to the front as he could, no exceptions, and not to use the stage left nosebleeds, and continued taking tickets and cash. We already had a crowd when the Chorus Ushers arrived - Late, not appropriately dressed, or telling me that they had to leave before the show was over because their parents did not want to pick them up any later than that time. I volunteered to tell their parents that having a kid in a show was a commitment that included days that they were not performing and that we had several reliable upperclassmen running carpool if they had emergencies. Only one of the ushers took me up on it, so I decided that we could close missing one usher since we had more than usual anyway, and signed them all in. I walkied the Director that we had all the ushers we were gonna get and that they were late but we had it under control, which was the last time ANYTHING was under control that night. The first obvious problem was that the Chorus Ushers didn't seat anyone, which was literally their one job. They just... walked in and out of the theater following people? I had to leave Reliable at the cash box and demonstrate, then move people out of the one row reserved for ushers and the closed off nosebleed area. Someone, probably Spotlight, had cordoned it off with duct tape so I don't know why they even tried. Then I had to explain that you cannot save a whole row so that tall people do not come and block your view. And then somebody wanted a half off ticket because they intended to leave at intermission. And somebody else wanted to pay by credit card even though they'd had weeks of warning that we were not set up to do that. Add in people jockeying for seats and ushers sneaking off to hang with friends or family and by the time the lights went down I was composing some strongly worded advice to our director about training ushers and making sure that showing up to usher one night wasn't the whole price of being in the cast. Then, in the middle of the second song, a phone rang. "Hi Mom. No, the play has started. Yes I have a ride home. No, dad decided he wouldn't - It's fine -" "Excuse me, Ma'am," I hissed to the rapidly confiscated phone, tugging the usher towards the back doors by the hoodie, "Your daughter is working and we do not allow cell phones in the theater." "But -" "All calls must be taken IN THE HALLWAY (which we had reached by then) and your ringer is expected to be off." "And who are you?" "The Stage Manager," I said, like I was an actual responsible party, and hung up. "When you are done sorting this out, I expect neither you, nor your phone, to make a single sound for the rest of this play. Any upperclassman with an available car seat will give you a ride home if you need it." That made one freshie with the fear of House Manager put into them properly, hopefully it meant she'd behave in general. And walkie hell immediately broke loose. In the next, possibly forty minutes, by virtue of being the person who had already left the auditorium and was wearing normal clothes, I learned the following:
someone needed to run a repair kit up to the chorus holding room
Because Second Night Choral Lead (on props duty) and Opening Night Choral lead had gotten into a slapfight about discovering that they shared the costume
consisting of shoving and shouting that one of them would ruin it for the other because she was "too fat" for a one size fits all wrap dress
And inevitably torn it
Stage Manager could not handle this
Because she'd gone up to Choral Holding Area to tell everybody else in the chorus to shut the fuck up because they could be heard ON STAGE
And the Choir Divas had decided to lock her in a closet
so somebody allowed to have building keys (director) had to come and let her out and put the fear of god into them
So someone ELSE who knew blocking had to move to cues position
Because The Dude in The Plant was relying on that
So I had to go help cover for whatever they should be doing that didn't involve knowing the script
And somebody else had to go whipstitch Opening Night Choral Lead back into her damn dress before their next cue
Also The Dude In The Plant was concerned because the rolling portion of the stage felt kinda wrong? The part he was on? Inside the plant puppet?
The director needed a List Of People Whose Parents Were Going To Be Called after the play because we do not lock people into storage closets
And don't think he won't ALSO tell on you to the choir director who will have you out of SO MANY performances for this behavior.
Audrey the Human just tripped over something that shouldn't be backstage because Choral Lead two is being read the riot act instead of doing props
WHOEVER IS RUBBING FABRIC ON THEIR MIC OVER THE WALKIES NEEDS TO TURN IT OFF
Sorry the micbox is right next to the dress tear
The Dude in Audrey the Plant just felt something move that should not
The Dude Voicing Audrey the Plant informs me that one of my ushers has left and also left the door to the auditorium wide open
Surprisingly it is not little miss phone call
Anyway he's trapped in the sound booth waiting for his cue and Reliable Usher doesn't have a walkie
Chorus is back on stage, the riot act is in intermission, Background Chorus Choir Divas have declared that if they are removed from the Chorus for being loud assholes and derailing the whole cast and crew they won't usher and then where will we be?
GREAT! I DON'T WANT THEM!
Choral Lead Two is crying in the boys dressing room instead of running props because nobody's currently using the boys dressing room
Because Choral Lead One will be standing around in a spare sheet in the girls' dressing room while we fix her dress during intermission.
Dude in the Plant says, very quietly, "fuck"
As the combined weight of chorus and cast and plant muppet and dude in the plant and choreography breaks one of the casters on the set
Which fortunately only falls like a quarter inch so everyone stumbles and nobody is hurt
"Should I help?" No, Dude Voicing The Plant, STAY WHERE YOU ARE YOU ARE THE ONLY THING ABOUT THIS THAT'S GOING WELL
Chorus and Crew and Everyone except me (because I'm hunting for a MIA usher) is trying to deal with that rolling bit of set under the cover of SON BE A DEEEEENTIST, YOU'LL BE A SUCCESS!
Congrats my missing usher has not been teen-napped. She saw me putting the fear of god and of me into her castmate about cell phones and has stepped outside the entire building to I Do Not Care What But This Conversation can Wait we LEGALLY have to know where you are
Hey who is the fastest / most invisible sewer we have? Because this dress is messed up worse than we thought. We need them for all of intermission
Me, possibly, except I am working intermission?
Can you come at call tomorrow and fix it? We have safety pins
Sure
Why are there no safety pins in the safety pins box
I dunno why don't you ask the kid who was literally making a safety pin necklace last time I was at set build
Who?
IDK they're new probably
Rolling stage has been fixed! Well. Assuming we don't want it to move.
"Am I safe to eat the guy?" Yes, Dude In The Plant, chow down on our dentist, the set will hold.
Intermission.
THANK FUCK
A twenty five minute intermission is totally normal, Sirs and Ma'ams. Please feel free to buy cold stale football field popcorn.
Phonecall usher "Uh. So My dad. Decided he wasn't going to come pick me up at intermission."
I gave her the name of the senior with a car that I thought would be feeling least murderous, because I am not a complete monster.
No, sir, you cannot show up for the second half of a play and expect a half priced ticket. It is five. Goddamn. Dollars. Anyway somehow the worst thing that happened on second night was Dude Voicing the Plant deciding that he was actually brave and secular enough to do the swears so we got TWO people saying fuck directly into the microphone. He still passed on Tough Titties though.

Nischa headcannons/ individual headcannons because they won’t leave my brain (a lot of them are copy pasted from a server I’m in)
Mischa is a huge adult swim fan, liking shows like morel Orel, robot chicken, and all that
Noel is taller than Mischa, but Mischa refuses to go along with the idea that Noel is a normal height and he’s just short, so Mischa lies about his height sometimes and claims Noel is just a giant
Mischa has wrestlers ear
Noel knows how to play the clarinet
When noel laughs, it’s always one of those out-the-nose chuckles
Mischa says that he gets in trouble with the cops frequently, but like the worst thing he’s done is jaywalked and stolen things from gas stations
Noel’s natural smile is downturned
Noel and Mischa have a “romantic” playlist, but Mischa adds the most awful shit to it. Like Eminem or Macklemore all over the playlist
Before Noel and Mischa were friendly with each other, they hated each other. Like Noel thought Mischa was a stereotypical dickhead homophobic hockey boy, and Mischa thought noel was a Pussy fuck
Mischa has a pretty awful gaydar, and assumed noel was straight when he first joined the choir and thought that noel was with ocean. (Noel immediately shot that down)
Mischa would sleep in jeans or pants, and Noel would have specific clothes he doesn’t like designated for sleeping
Mischa had noel do most of his English work, and mischa helped noel get better at the things they were working on in P.E.
As a joke once, Mischa asked Noel something along the lines of “do you have a crush on me or something?”, Noel fired back with a comment about his height and Mischa didn’t talk to him until he confirmed it was a joke
Once when Mischa was high/drunk, he was rambling to Noel who was prolly his tripsitter, and he kept on talking about getting matching tattoos/letting him tattoo noel
While in class, Mischa randomly laid down across his chair a bit and put his head on Noel’s lap (staring up at the ceiling), and didn’t move until the teacher realized and yelled at him
They shared a lot of their classes together so noel could act as a “behavior buffer”, but it didn’t work and Mischa would just randomly talk random shit in the middle of their classes to noel

Can I please have an imagine where fem!reader is an original member of the glee club and her and Quinn are obviously pining after each other. The glee club gets tired of it and hatches a plan to get them together. It works and they end up together. Just fluffy please?
Quinn x Reader
"We HAVE to do something about them..." Santana groans out. "Those goo-goo eyes are making me sick."
The New Directions were having a meeting about their resident starstruck lovers. You and Quinn have been dancing around each other since Glee Club started two years ago and it was infuriating everyone.
"It's a wonder how they don't know how the other feels," Kurt mentions with a sigh. "If I had eyes burning into my soul, I'd notice."
"To be fair," Tina pipes in. "Quinn did date around a lot for a bit." Mike nods in agreement.
"Yeah, that's bound to give some mixed signals."
"Then what excuse does Q have!?" Santana all but yells at the others. "The last thing she should be worried about is a little gay panic after everything."
There's a grumble of agreement that echoes in the choir room. It lasts for a bit before Artie chimes in with an idea.
"Well, let's help them get together then? Like set them up on a blind date together?" Mike shakes his head.
"No. Y/N won't date anyone else. She feels like it wouldn't be fair to want someone while dating another."
A few more ideas get thrown out and denied until Rachel has an epiphany.
"Let's do a duet week again and match them together! Force them to work together and before you know it, they'll finally confess." The others start getting into the planning method.
"Gotta be a love song theme." Sam says. "Otherwise they could do something like 'The Boy Is Mine'."
"We'll have to make sure they're paired together." Mercedes piped in. "Maybe the hat of fate, but just put one of their names as every choice. We'll choose our own partners."
Everyone excitedly continues to plan. It was fool-proof. It has to work. Hopefully, Mr. Schue was willing to at least let them take charge of this.
-----+++++-----
The next Glee meeting arrives and everyone, including you and Quinn, are waiting for your teacher to make an appearance. You keep glancing over at Quinn, getting a glimpse of the girl you've been pining for for years. She seems unfazed, talking to Santana and Brittany. You smile at how at ease she seems and you're happy that her life has mellowed out for the time being.
"Alright team!" Mr. Schue greets as he walks into the choir room. "This week, we're doing another duet assignment."
Everyone cheers at the news. It takes a second for their teacher to calm everyone.
"And this time, I'm gonna get you guys choose your partners... Within a time limit." He takes out a stopwatch and sets the timer to ten seconds.
"Ready?" Everyone is poised. They all knew who to go to.
"Set?" The kids hover in their chairs.
"Go!"
Almost immediately, everyone sits back down, grabbing the person next to them. That left you and Quinn to be the only ones standing in confusion.
"And there we go! Good job everyone." Mr. Schue continues on with the assignment, leaving you and Quinn baffled.
-----+++++-----
"We need to pick a song, Quinn..."
The two of you were sitting in your room, sitting separately as you both go through various songs on your respective phones. While you were thrilled to have Quinn as a duet partner, the blonde was fighting you on which song to choose.
"I know, I know," the blonde sighs. "I just don't like any of these."
You throw your hands up in frustration. "There has to be something. We're losing rehearsal time."
Quinn just sighs and flops back on your bed. She steals one of your pillows and hugs it tight. You just lean back in your chair and poke at your keyboard. There was a potential to get even closer to your crush, but it seemed like it was wasted. Little did you know, Quinn felt the same way.
The sound of piano notes fills the room as you start playing randomly, eventually starting "Rewrite the Stars." It didn't take long before you were singing along.
I know you want me
It's not a secret I try to hide
I know you want me
So don't tell me our hands are tied.
Quinn smiles as she listens. Your voice was always one of her favorites and it was never tiring to listen to. She sits up, the pillow still in hand, before joining into the next verse. It's your turn to listen and you nearly swoon at the soft tones of her voice. It doesn't take long for you two to get into the song. Soon enough, you've abandoned your keyboard and are dancing with her. When you're both at the end of the song, you're face to face, staring at each other. Quinn doesn't seem to want to sing her last lines.
"I..." Quinn hesitates for a moment, searching your eyes, before leaning forward and placing her lips against yours. You sink into the feeling, making the most of it in case this was a fleeting fancy.
When you part, your eyes are still closed, unwilling to leave the dream. But when you do, you see hazel eyes staring right back at you. You can't help but gasp at the emotion in them.
"This... Isn't an 'in the moment' thing, right?" You tentatively ask. "Because if it is, I don't think I can take it."
Quinn lets out a soft laugh and shakes her head. "No. It's not an 'in the moment' thing. I really like you, Y/N. A lot. For a long time now." You just blink in response.
"Really? I've had feelings for you for years." A stupid smile spreads on your face. "I didn't think you felt the same because of all the... Others."
The blonde sits back on your bed and you follow suit. "They happened because I thought it would help me get over you. They didn't."
"So... We've been pining over each other."
"Yup."
There's a beat of silence before you both have an epiphany.
"Oh my God," you groan. "The rest of the Glee Club..." Quinn buries her face into her hands.
"They set us up..."
The blonde then shoots her head back up with a smirk.
"So when I sing that last line during our performance..." She eyes you mischievously.
You answer her with a wide grin.

Berry Blues
Season Two
Part Eleven - (The Sue Sylvester Shuffle) Its All About Football
Quinn Fabray x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Who knew that thrusting the bully filled football team and the glee club that they target would lead to such chaos? Honestly, you probably should have expected as much.
Word Count: 9,317
WARNINGS: Anger, violence, eating things that you shouldn’t, almost cheating.
(A/N): Sorry for the short delay, I have recently gotten terribly sick, and am still going through it.
-----
The new year had sprung, and with it, new experiences. Ones that weren't necessarily good.
With one of your feet resting upon the back of a chair, you slouched in another. Awaiting the arrival of the Glee Club's Director so that the lesson could finally start.
Soaked through, stained red, frozen, and with sloppy ice laying upon him, in rolled Arite. His presence being announced by a pitying Tina.
"Oh, my God. Artie."
Anger filled you as Brittany rushed down to attend to her boyfriend, instantly realising who had done this, no proof necessary.
"It was awful," the boy whimpered.
Finn Hudson felt the same way you did, outrage flowing through his veins, causing his limbs to shake.
"That's it," he seethed, "Screw rehearsal! This ends here and now."
"Oh, hell yeah!" you yelled, jumping up from your seat, following the boys that all wore letterman jackets, much to the displeasure of Quinn and your sister.
"We're gonna go all Thunderdome on those guys!"
You would have questioned Puck's reference if it weren't for the objects of your anger striding through the doors of the choir room themselves. Wearing letterman jackets of their own, suddenly you stuck out like a sore thumb in the mass of football players.
"So, this is what the ladies' lounge looks like on the inside."
"This is the choir room," Sam replied to the curly-haired blonde jock, "Now, put up your fists because you and I are gonna do some dancin'."
Ever wanting to be the leader, Finn reached out a hand to the boy's chest, stopping him from advancing, altho pointlessly as he didn't even make to move towards the group, as they chuckled in reply.
"No, I got this, Sam."
Insulted, the boy quickly shoved his arm away from his body.
"There's too much talking, not enough fighting, for my liking."
The same football player scoffed at you, "Yeah, you sure put up a fight against us last time."
"Well, maybe this time we can go one-on-one, instead of five of you fuckers ganging up on me like a bunch of pussies. Ask Karofsky. I'm sure he would be happy to tell ya' how well I fair in a fair fight."
The boy in question rolled his eyes, trying to act tough in front of his friends, deciding to change the subject before you ended up showing them all the proof to your statement.
"Coach Beiste told us to come. Where is she?"
As it turns out, right behind the. Along with Mr Schuester.
"Watching it." She pushed through the boys, gesturing to the maroon chairs. "Everyone have a seat."
"You too, guys," Mr Schue said, "All right. New Directions," he continued once everyone had done as told, standing side by side with the coach, preparing to give the announcement, "Let's give a warm welcome to the newest members of Glee Club."
There was outrage all around.
The Glee Club members insulted by the presence of their main tormenters infiltrating their safe space.
And the jocks. Purely because they thought it was lame or "gay", and they were far too worried about how they -and others- were perceived to understand that people do things purely because they enjoyed it. No matter how it could make them look on the outside to everyone else.
"Oh, hell to the no, Mr Schue!" Mercedes yelled over all the riot, "Are you serious?!"
"This is some sick God damn joke, and I do not appreciate it!"
The teacher rose his hands, trying to calm the teenagers, as Azimio jumped to his feet. As Coach Beiste commanded them to with a couple,
"hey"s.
"Are you serious?" Finn stood up now in outrage. "These are the guys who made Kurt transfer."
"Mainly one," you bit, harsh glare directed towards Karofsky.
"And there's no way I am sharing the choir room with a known homophobe," your sister spoke, pointing at the boy who couldn't make eye contact with anyone in the room, herself.
"I don't disagree with you guys."
"So why are they here?!" you yelled, jumping up yourself, "Why is he here?!"
"Because Y/N, I talked to Coach Beiste about it, and she and I both agreed that the kind of bullying that David does is born out of ignorance. Sit down, Y/N."
A hot breath slowly exited your nose as you steadily lowered yourself back into the chair beside your sister. Fixing the man with a death stare for your troubles, thanks to how angry you were.
"Having him in here, as difficult as it may be for us, is an opportunity to show him and the rest of the guys that being in Glee Club is kind of cool. You know, find some common ground."
Coach Beiste took over the man's speech, pointing a hand towards the football players gathering on the left side of the room. "All of you are gonna be in this Glee Club for one week. No exceptions."
"She's bluffing," Karofsky told his buddies, "Next week is the championship game. Without us, she has no team."
"With you, have no team! You guys have gotta find a way to come together, or we're gonna get our asses kicked from here until Tuesday finds a saddlebag full of buckwheat."
You still didn't get her metaphors.
"If I have to stay, I'm not singing no show tunes," Azimio voiced, "That is the music of my oppressors."
"Do you even have any idea what we do in here?" Finn questioned in exasperation.
"No." Mr Schue shook his head. "None of them do. We have to show them. Rachel, Puck. Haven't you guys been working on something? Why don't you give it a whirl?"
"Fine. As offended as I am by their presence here, I won't let anything get in the way of a performance," she stated as Puckerman angrily removed his jacket, shooting the jocks a glare as he reached for his guitar.
After that, quite frankly, in your opinion, disgusting performance between the delinquent and your sister. Including the boy making threatening moves toward the football players, everything seemed calm once the song ended. A lull in the tense atmosphere. Until it was brought back tenfold. Making you roll your eyes at Azimio's words.
"The girl with the mohawk had a really nice voice."
Puckerman smiled towards him sarcastically, acting as if he were in on the joke, removing his guitar. Before the instrument was soon turned into a weapon, and he rushed the boy.
Everyone jumped up then.
Some to stop the attempted violence.
Others to join it.
You were one of the latter.
Or so you tried to be.
With Quinn pushing at your chest, keeping you away from the fray whilst still hurling her yells at the jocks. And Mike, with his arms wrapped around yours, tugging with the blonde's pushes.
"You've had some shitty ideas in your time, Mr Schue! But this one takes the cake!"
His eyes fluttered at your words, his back pressing against the coach's who held Puckerman at bay, also trying to stop the group of teens from going full gladiator mode against each other.
"Great first day, right?" he remarked sarcastically, Beiste returning it with her own statement.
"Awesome!"
It was like you had gone deaf.
One second, cries of anger filled the room. The next? Nothing.
And that was all thanks to one thing.
One sight you caught out of the corner of your eye.
The wild kicking of your sister's tight-clad legs thanks to being hoisted into the air. The perpetrator? A random jock who had been forced into the club for the week. Stopping her from pouncing onto one of his teammates.
Quinn grew worried at your sudden silence and lack of movement, Mike's head poking around to see why you had stopped, considering that was so unlike you.
They didn't have the chance to follow your line of sight as you dropped to a bend, easily slipping out of Mike's distracted hold, causing Quinn to tumble into the Asian boy.
"Oh, so you wanna die today?!" your roar made the others in the room pause mid-action, turning to face where you now stood facing the boy holding your sister still.
The same boy whose eyes were wide as saucers, with enough fear in them to rival someone staring down the barrel of a gun.
Quickly dropping your sister, the jock high-tailed it outta there. But you weren't about to stand for that, chasing him instantly.
Taking any means necessary to defend your sister, including using all your skill to jump onto the piano in one steep step, using it as a means of a shortcut as the boy rushed through the door.
With you not too far behind him, Mercedes yelled, "He's gonna see God!"
---
You were still furious after that whole ordeal in Glee Club. And after punching a bag of sand didn't seem to help, you decided to take a jog around the track.
Only for your jogged movements to stumble into a stop at the giant flame-painted 'WHMS' cannon sat in the middle of the football field. Mouth dropped in pure confused disbelief, so much more so that you hardly noticed the head cheerleader walking up to you.
"What's with the cannon?" you asked her dumbfounded, pointing towards the object when she paused beside you, the other Cheerios walking by, heading back into the warmer school.
"Sue bought it."
"She a pirate now?"
"She's planning on shooting Brittany out of it."
"Right." You nodded before her words finally sank into you and got you to tear your sights off of the dangerous contraption and peer down at the girl. "Wait. What?!"
"Don't worry, I'm gonna talk to Mr Schue about it right now."
"You want me to come with?"
She shook her head in denial, hands deep in her jacket pockets, "I'll be fine. Hey, uh, what happened to that guy you were chasing?"
"He's really fast," you grumbled, eyes glaring down at the ground below you. "He got to his car and drove off before I could reach him."
"I can't say I'm not glad. Don't want you to be suspended again. Or worse. Going to prison for murdering him."
Huffing, you folded your arms across your chest, pointedly not looking at the blonde.
"Come on." A cold palm rubbed against your arm, coaxing you to look up at its owner. "You know I'm right."
"Doesn't mean I can't be mad about it," you mumbled.
"Has anyone ever said you're like a big baby?"
"No. But apparently, I did drink your breast milk, so it only makes sense."
"You're disgusting." Quinn smiled.
"You love me."
'I love you'
---
He wouldn't look at you.
There you were, bracketed in between two cheerleaders, each with tight grips upon your forearms, glaring over at the boy who had grabbed your sister.
You weren't planning on storming him... much.
But thanks to Santana and Brittany's hold upon you, you weren't able to, no matter what. Knowing how feisty Santana would get, especially if Brittany were involved.
But you were still so deep into your glare that you had entirely blanked what Mr Scuester had been saying.
That was until Karofaky voiced his outcry.
"No fricking way!"
Finally, you turned to face your teacher as he spoke, "We don't have a choice. Sue pulled the Cheerios from the game, so if we don't do it, there's no halftime show."
"And this is a problem because?" Zizes pressed.
"Well, isn't the halftime show the best thing about a football game?" you remarked, but Coach Beiste decided to give an answer of her own.
"It's not a problem. It's an opportunity."
"Opportunity to humiliate ourselves," the curly blonde football player replied.
"Hey. The whole point of this week was to bring you guys together. To bring the school together."
"Wait, so you want us to play the first half, change into some "sequin" ball gowns, and then go out and do the halftime show at our own championship game?" Azimio asked his coach.
"Yes."
"You're gonna be tired," you poked fun at the jocks in a sing-song voice as they groaned.
"It's the championship game!" Azimio jumped up. "This is a crazy town! This is crazy!"
"What about the Cheerios in Glee Club?" Finn asked over the other jocks' squabbling.
"They have a choice," Mr Schue stated, "Us. Or the Cheerios competition."
"Well, obviously Quinn is gonna choose the Cheerios," your sister remarked bitterly, gesturing down to the blonde seated beside Brittany.
"How do you know that?" you asked as Quinn shot her a glare.
"Yeah, that's not fair," Finn joined ranks with you, "You don't know what she's gonna do."
"I think the cheerleading is gonna be a lot of fun," Mr Schuester stated, still hoping to coax them into staying with his next words, "But if you go, you're gonna miss out on us doing the most iconic song of all time."
"Spooky?" you questioned.
"Yes, Y/N. "Spooky"." He pointed your way. "In fact, the Super Bowl of pop anthems: 'Thriller'."
The Glee Club side of the room grew excited by the news, as the jocks looked less than pleased.
"Yeah, remember a few years ago when that Philippine prison did that mega performance of 'Thriller' and put it on YouTube?" Now, in the four months it took to rehearse that number, prisoner-on-prisoner crime dropped eighty per cent. Doing that. Together. As a team. Created a unity within that prison. And that's what I'm looking to do here."
"Send us to prison?"
"I mean, don't get me wrong, you know. I'm big on Micheal and everything, but isn't that kinda what they're expecting us to do?" Mercedes asked, shrugging her shoulders, with her arms still deep within the pockets of her hoodie.
Pointing to the girl, Mr Schuester was happy to continue his announcement, "Which is why we're gonna mash it together with the 'Yeah Yeah Yeahs' equally spooky single, 'Heads Will Roll'."
"Oh, this is gonna be so cool," you gushed to yourself.
"Who's 'Yeah Yeah Yeah'?"
At Azimio's question, you called over, "They're a band, big guy."
"New Directions," Beiste spoke to the club, turning to her football members, "Titans. We're going to zombie camp." To which she solidified with a sharp blow of her whistle.
---
'Zombie Camp' was fun.
Even with the football players shoving one another thanks to their stumbling feet.
But by the end of the first lesson, the team and football players were at least making some good progress. And your director seemed to think so too, with his clapping.
"All right. Nice progress, guys. Let's take a breather, and I'll see you in the choir room for a lesson in zombie make-up."
"Make-up?" Azimio voiced affronted, following after the group as members of the Glee Club kept up the zombie act, "No, no, no, no, no."
"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes," his coach countered.
"It's not make-up like that."
"How else could it be?" he asked you.
"It's not the kind that makes you look pretty," you explained, gesturing your arms around, "This stuff is meant to make you look gross and gory."
"That sounds a bit better, I guess," the large boy mumbled.
You were mid-way through your zombi make-up, working on the giant gash across your face, when you spotted the football player by your side, about to smush something into his eye. Something that he thought was regular make-up.
Snapping your hand out, you grasped his wrist mear inches from his face.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
"Why not?"
"That stuff will glue your eye shut. Trust me, I've done it before. Lost like fifteen eyelashes ripping it open."
The boy dropped the sponge onto the table, reacting like the thing had just bit them and it was poisonous.
"Yeah, wise decision."
---
"What did you get on the math homework yesterday?"
Turning to Sam as you walked down the school's halls, you asked, "We had math homework?"
The blonde boy looked at you obviously, making the small amount of dread he had given you to flood larger.
"Shit."
"Don't worry, I'm sure you can talk to her about it," the boy said, referencing your math teacher and patting your shoulder.
"Oh, you are so naive." You recognised that voice, even from almost halfway down the hall. Quinn. "This whole school is about labels."
"Wow." You also knew that scoffed tone. Finn.
Patting Sam a few times against his arm, you pointed out the two squabbling teenagers before you were about to round the corner. Literally pointing them out, as you said, "Uh, dude."
"I never realised you were so freaking weak."
"Oh? I-"
"What did you say?"
Finn spun at the sound of Sam's voice, only to spot you side by side with the blonde.
"All the Cheerios quit Glee Club."
You peered over to Quinn to see if it were true. Who silently shook her head and shrugged at your sadly.
"So, why are you yelling at my girlfriend about it?"
"I'm yelling at her because I'm the leader of this team."
"You are swimming in hypocrisy, Finn," you told the boy, who looked confuddled beyond belief.
"What does that even mean?"
"It means that you're acting all high and mighty for someone who's done the exact same thing. Or do I have to remind you of how you ditched the club, too, in favour of being on the football team last year?"
"That's not the same!" he tried to excuse, "I didn't have any other choice."
"Yes, you did. You had the same choice that Quinn had now."
"But I made it better. And I felt really bad about it!"
"Yeah, well, I'm sure she feels pretty fuckin' bad about it, too."
Quinn's eyes fluttered at you, shoulders dropping softly, suddenly so thankful you were here.
"Why are you always sticking up for her? For everything," the tall boy sneered, "You've got a problem with me acting like this, being a leader, but you have no issue with her?"
"Well, maybe it's time for a change at the top," Sam jumped back in.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"This is kinda hot, actually."
At Quinn's words, you took a glance at her before processing her words and looking at her properly.
"Good to know," you said with a nod. Receiving a light push t your arm from the girl's boyfriend, to which you playfully tapped his own back in retaliation.
Finn, who had also been looking at the girl over his shoulder, turned back once Sam began talking again, giving you the opportune chance to lean over to her with your whispered question.
"That includes my participation too, right?"
Quinn rolled her eyes at you dramatically. The smile she tried to force away told you all you had to know. Making a confident grin pull across your own face.
"It means that maybe the reason everyone hates us is because we need some new leadership," Sam gave the boy some, quite honest, truth, "Face it, you've had your feet in both worlds for a year now and never been able to bring them together. I guarantee you, if Y/N were on the football team-" He gestured to you, using you as an example for his point. "-Things would be in harmony right now."
"Thanks, man." You smiled, catching Finn glaring at you. "What? I'm not allowed to take a compliment?"
"Point is," Sam stressed, continuing, "Maybe someone else could."
"What? As in maybe, you?"
"Or me, apparently."
"As in yes," Sam replied to Finn.
"Well, maybe we should settle this right now," Finn challenged.
"Bring it." Sam pushed the boy ever so lightly.
Pushing the blonde back in his chest, Finn replied, "Brung."
"Oh, well, this is childish," you stated, watching as the boys carried on shoving each other, getting harsher each time.
Quinn thought the same thing as you, watching them with judging eyes.
"Yeah, you want some more of that? You like that?" Finn egged him on.
"Really, guys? Really?"
"What are you doing?" you squinted at the two. "This isn't how you fight. Throw a punch- Ow!" Rubbing at the now sore skin under the shirt of your arm, you looked wide-eyed at Quinn after the glaring blonde had just pinched you. Which you decided to use to your advantage. "Yeah, even start pinching. That'll be better than this shoving bullshit."
Before the boys' "fight" could grow any harsher, Mr Schue jumped in between them with a yell.
"Hey, hey. How many fights do I have to break up this week?"
"Oh, don't worry, Mr Schue. That wasn't a fight." You waved the man off, to which you went ignored at the teacher was still far too focused on keeping the boys separated.
"Now, calm down. And get back to Glee Club." He tugged Sam around, pushing him down the corridor. "Come on."
"Hope to see you there," Finn said, turning to Quinn before walking off himself.
You rolled your eyes at the boy's departing form.
"Don't listen to him..." you would have said more to the Cheerio if you hadn't gotten so distracted. Now beaming at her brightly.
"Why are you smiling?"
You gestured to the gold necklace you had gotten her for Christmas, hanging around her neck, below her signature gold cross. "You're wearing it."
"Of course I am." She lightly pushed your shoulder. A sad look began to take over her eyes as she took a step backwards. "Now, get going. You're gonna miss Glee Club."
As you watched the blonde leave, you could only think one this.
'Screw Sue for making her do this'
---
You were awarded the temporary title of 'Honoury Football Player', even including a jacket of your own, just for this performance with the guys from the Glee Club and the jocks.
Zombie makeup and movements fully ingrained into you by the end of the performance of 'She's Not There'.
Rounding the green auditorium chairs, Mr Schuester came to the foot of the stage, slapping the file onto the. "Guys." Momentarily looking back to a shrugging Beiste. "Awesome!"
A breath of relief flowed through you after the teacher's psych-out.
"All you football players, nailing that zombies classic on- on the first time out. I am impressed."
"Now get your butt's into the locker room and get cleaned up." Beiste stood up.
"Thank God, this stuff's uncomfortable."
The students and faculty of William McKinley High School felt like they had suddenly walked into a horror movie, one where their entire football team turned into jock zombies and now patrolled the halls of their school like phantoms of the day.
Being stopped only by a gang of hockey players.
"Appropriate outfits," the ring leader said, "They represent the death of your guys' reign at this school."
"How many times do we have to put you puck-head in place before you realise that football rules this school?"
"I forgot we had a hockey team," you mumble to yourself from beside Azimio, "They must suck worse than you guys did last year."
Azimio hummed at your words, nodding in agreement.
"Maybe, but not after you make dancing fools of yourselves at that halftime show."
"Oh, I'm sorry," you remarked, raising your hands up into the air, "Is it that, or just the fact that you guys don't have big enough balls to do it yourselves."
Shocking yourself at how quick you were to defend the football players that tortured your team, not even including what they -Karofsky- had done to Kurt.
The leader scoffed at you, shaking his head.
"Come on. You know it, and we know it. The whole school knows it."
"Yeah, I don't take criticism from people who have mullets worse than the 80s."
"And anyway, they'll think differently after they see it," Karofsky jumped in now, "It's gonna be awesome."
"Holy crap. They turned Karofsky gay," the "puck-head" laughed, gaining a chuckle from his teammates.
Rolling your eyes, you said, "You can't turn people gay. It's in their DNA, I know we live in Ohio, but you should know what that is at the very least."
"What are you moose knuckles doing with those slushies?" Puckerman brought everyone's attention to the filled cups within their hands.
"Ready for the fireworks? It's independence day."
"Cover your eyes!" you yelled as a warning to the football players that had never experienced the pain of the ice-cold drink before.
Even with your warning, the stinging juices still managed to trickle and splash into their eyes.
Minutes later, you were in the boy's locker room washing the drink from your eyes and face as the football players whimpered in pain.
"Agh, my eyes!" Karofsky grunted in pain, "Burning."
"Just relax. It stops after a couple of hours," Finn said, as all the glee clubbers reacted to being slushies as if it were nothing, just proceeding to clean their faces of the zombie make-up.
"I tend to sleep it off if I can," you advised, walking forward towards the long-haired Hawaiian football player, struggling to get the stuff out of his eyes, "Don't rub it back in like that." Helping him wash his face off, you added, "That stuff I stopped you from putting in your eyes burns worse than this if you would believe it."
"No fricking way I'm letting that happen again," Karofsky said, trying to push back the tears in his voice.
"I consider this karma for all the times you've done this."
"He's in the first stage of loserdom: Denial," Artie stated.
"No!" the jock snapped, pulling away from the shower he occupied, "I am not a loser!"
"Everyone's a loser in their own right," you called over.
"Well, not me! And I don't sing and dance. I walk tall and carry a big stick."
"Oh, wow. My mind is imploding with the amount of dick jokes I can make with that."
"Dude." Finn walked towards the pissed-off boy. "Relax. This is gonna be fine."
"Yeah. Of course, it is." Karofsky gave the boy a harsh shove, making you jump up from where you were helping the boy you had been these past few days. "Because I'm quitting Glee Club."
"No, you're not," Beiste stated, turning the corner into the shower portion of the locker rooms, "Fact is, covered in ice and red dye number seven, you guys look more like a team than you ever have out on that field."
"I don't care. I'm out."
"Then you're off the team."
"No way."
"Yeah."
"If we quit, you barely have enough guys to play next week. It's the championship game. You're not gonna throw it."
"Try me."
"All this because you can't handle your eyes burning and being called a loser when you get sacked out on the field regularly? This is what breaks you?" you scoffed.
Finn's voice was pleading when he spoke, trailing off into one of his leadership speeches, "Don't do this. If we stand together and we do the halftime show, we can win this game and be kings in this place."
"Oh, what a castle to rule in," you muttered to yourself, glancing around the locker room.
After looking around at his jock friends, gaining shakes of their heads, Karofsky replied, "Good luck with that." Before all the new Glee Football players trailed from the room.
After looking around at his jock friends, gaining shakes of their heads, Karofsky replied, "Good luck with that." Then all the non-glee football players trailed from the room.
Cutting the tension in the room, you sniffed, then asked the coach, "You mind if I hold onto this jacket for a while? My shirt is soaked, and I don't have any spare clothes here. I gave them to Artie when he was drenched."
---
This is exactly what you needed after the long day you had.
Warm coffee to combat the cold ebbing from the streets outside. Along with the plates of sweet treats and your friends.
No matter how much they jokingly bragged about their number for the upcoming competition.
"Now, I don't want to sound cocky or anything, but... you guys better be pulling out all the stops for regionals because the number we just rehearsed is so off the hook, it's dangerous."
"Seriously." Kurt nodded from his seat beside the boy he wished to call his boyfriend, as you took yours at the head of the table, sitting between Blane and your sister. "People should wear protective headgear when they're watching it."
You sighed as Rachel and Mercedes shared a look.
"Guys, we're kidding," Kurt supplied, not meaning for any harm to be taken by it.
"Yeah, well, it's hard to laugh right now with everything going on at McKinley," your sister replied.
"I mean, look at us," Mercedes voiced, "The stars of two rival show choirs sitting down to coffee?"
"I think that's very healthy of us," you spoke around the lip of your coffee cup.
Gaining a nod from Blane. "I agree."
"But that still doesn't negate the fact that our school is so messed up we can't even keep our own football team together," she pointed out.
"It's so sad, you guys. Coach Beiste and Mr Schue were so close at getting everyone at the school together."
"And the boys are super depressed about it."
"Why hasn't Finn told me anything about this?" Kurt asked in indignation, "I mean, we live together. And I bring him a glass of warm milk every night, just in hopes that we'll have a little lady chat."
"Warm milk?" Blane asked, "Really?"
"It's delicious."
Rachel shook her head. "Finn's too proud to complain. He feels like he has to be strong for everyone, but I know it's just killing him inside. I hope he realises that, you know, if he and I were still together, I could make him feel a lot better, you know."
"Hopefully not by spreading your legs," you muttered.
Rolled her eyes, she replied, "I'm not Quinn."
At the same time you gave her shin a swift kick under the table, Mercedes shoved her shoulder into hers lightly.
"Let it go, Rachel," Kurt replied to her words about Finn.
"I- I just wish that there was a way that we could help. That's all."
"Yeah. And the worst part is how bummed the guys are," Mercedes added, "I mean, they already suffer enough abuse just being in glee. I really think that winning the game could have eased some of the pressure, at least for a little while."
"Wait. So, the whole team quit?" Blane asked, munching on his biscuit.
"Everybody not in glee. I mean, you can't play football with five guys, and one of them is in a wheelchair."
"Yeah, and Coach Beiste put up a sign-up sheet for people to join. I think they'll take anyone at this point."
"Well, the good news is you only need four more guys," Blane pointed out, trying to bring some hope back into the three McKinley students, "High school regulations actually let you play a couple guys short if you want to."
Sharing plotting looks with the girls, the boy had given you an eureka moment.
"But if they figure out a way to make it work, we will definitely be there to cheer 'em on."
"Oh, totally," Kurt was quick to agree, "Blane and I love football. Well, Blane loves football. I love scarves."
"Are you two thinking what I am?" you asked the girls before turning back to the head Warbler, placing a hand upon his shoulder, "Blane, you do not know how glad I am that you love football... even if you do dunk your biscotti into coffee."
---
"Why can't we just let them back on the team just for this game?" Sam asked during the next glee club session after the news everyone knew was coming had finally been broken.
"No." Beiste shook her head. "We carry this thing through. Even if it means having to forfeit the game."
"I can't believe this is it," Finn said glumly.
"Maybe it isn't." Sharing a look and an assured nod with your sister, you both stood up and walked to the centre of the room, where the adults were. "We wanna join the team."
"Or, in better words, we volunteer as tributes," your reference was met with silence, "Seriously? Have none of you read 'The Hunger Games'?"
Artie waved his hand. "I have. I got it."
"Thank you!"
"Wait," the boy then paused, processing what this all insinuated to, ""We" who?"
"All of us glee girls, and Y/N." Mercedes popped up now, followed by Tina. "We wanna join the football team, and we want to play in the championship."
"Come one, guy. Stop screwing around," Mike said moodily, "It's not cool."
"What's not cool is you guys not respecting women enough to realise we're perfectly capable of playing football," Lauren countered, walking to the front of the room herself, "And don't forget who the state champ in Greco-Roman Wrestling is. I've got offers from three different professional wrestling organisations for after I graduate, so..."
"High-five," your sister said, the two sharing one as you celebrated Lauren's achievements yourself.
"Oh, hell yeah!"
"Rachel, have you actually seen a tackle football game?" Mr Schue asked, leaning against the piano, "When they tackle you, it hurts."
"No, I thought it would tickle," you replied sarcastically, eyes rolling into the back of your head.
"Yeah, Puckerman voiced, agreeing with his teacher, "And not in the good Mellencamp way."
"We thought about that, but the truth is, is that you guys don't really need us to play. You just need enough players out there to field a regulation team. So, when they snap the ball-" Rachel mimed. "-We're just gonna lie down on the ground. We're just gonna lie there."
"Well, I'm not," Zizes informed, "I'm gonna bring the pain."
You nodded in agreement, "Yeah, me too."
"I guess they won't get hurt if you stay down," Coach Beiste said, clinging onto this shred of hope that had been given to her.
"Okay, what do your parents have to say about this?"
Pulling out a stack of paper from behind her back, Tina moved to hand them over, "We all have signed permission slips from them. It took some convincing, but they understood what it means to all of us."
"Oh, not for me. My dad's were happy to let me do this. They thought it was a great way for me to get out my anger. Tackling people on the field, rather than in the hallways. Even if it is for one game."
"What do you think, coach?" Mr Schue asked, handing the permission slips over.
The woman sighed. "I think... welcome to the football team."
"Yes!"
You celebrated along with the girls, the boys coming down to join in the festivities.
"I'm gonna kick some ass!" you yelled, pumping a fist, "Whoo!"
"Football team! Football team!" Rachel chanted, clapping her hands. "High-five, teammate!"
Oh, this was gonna be so much fun.
---
You couldn't remember the last time you had felt this much anxiety vibrating through your bones. Which, lucky for you, was masked with excitement.
Hats, scarves, and jackets were needed on the cold January evening. And here you were in bulky football gear and pads, the stereotypical black steeks painted under your eyes.
Finn shook your shoulders once the guys joined up with you on the field, noises of excitement coming from everyone.
You had just finished high-fiving Sam when you heard your sister's loud shout came from behind her gold-star-covered helmet.
"Let's kick some ass!"
"Yeah!" you and Puckerman yelled in unison.
"Kick some ass!"
"Kick it!"
"Yeah!" Rachel and yourself stood side-by-side, synching each other up. "I knew it wasn't just me with anger in our family."
Speaking of...
Your eyes glanced over the crowd, finding two familiar faces.
"Hey, dads are here."
"What?" Rachel followed your line of sight, spotting your father's smiling down at you, making her wave excitedly to them with both hands. You, however, used a single arm, waving largely to them.
Even from so far away, you could feel the worry radiating from them. But still, with their bright smiles and waves, you could tell they were looking forward to the game you had felt so passionately about, just to help your friends.
"You sure you're gonna be able to join in?" Finn asked, "I mean, you don't even know how to play football."
"Just tell me what number to go for," you replied confidently.
Before long, you were in a huddle, with Finn giving out plays that you nor most of the girls even knew.
"Punch and Judy on one. Ready, break!"
"Break!" All the guys clapped.
"What?"
"Who's Judy?"
Turning to your sister as you made your way towards the line, you sassed, "You tellin' me that you know a guy called 'Punch'?"
"Where do I go? What do I do?"
Finn pointed her towards the ground, leaving her to copy a position she had once seen on television before turning to tell you where you had to go.
"You have to stand behind Rachel and Tina and stop number 38 when they lay down from going any further."
"Got it."
Copying the position of the boy you were tasked to stop, a smirk tugging at your face when he joined his teammates in chuckling at what your team had to do. Knowing you were gonna take him down, just like you had Karofsky weeks ago.
"Blue 42! Blue 42!" 'What?' "Down! Set! Hut!"
Your sister screamed around her mouth guard as she, Tina, -and Mercedes- all dropped to the ground. Leaving you to slide between the two, halting the football player with a huff.
With the blow of a whistle signalled the end of the play.
"Is it over?" Rachel asked as you helped her and Tina up.
"It was the first play. Obviously, it's not over."
"What happened?" Tina asked next.
Checking the board, you replied, "They got the ball."
By the second quarter, your team hadn't got a single point, and the rivals were up by seventeen. And you were in yet another huddle.
"All right. How's everyone doin'?" Finn asked, checking in.
"Kill me now," Mercedes spoke up exhausted, "I wanna die."
"Well, I'm actually having a lot of fun," you stated, turning to Sam, "Hey, you think Coach Beiste would let me try out next year."
"You don't even know the game."
"No, but tackling people is fun."
"Is anyone else tired of lying down all the time? I want to play," Tina said.
"Oh, hell yeah."
"Just... don't get ahead of yourself, okay?" Finn tried to talk the girl down from her boredom and intrigue, "Ready, break!"
One again bent down behind Tina and Rachel, with your hand pressed into the grass, ready for yet another failed play.
"The Blitz. The Blitz. Watch!" you heard Coach Beiste's voice coming through your helmet, pointing out directions.
"What the hell does that mean?" you asked yourself worriedly, hoping that it wasn't anything directed at you.
"Set! Hut!"
You, as usual, had stopped 38. But Finn had gotten tackled anyway, sending the ball tumbling across the field for anyone to nab.
Luckily, it was one of your team that managed to grab it and begin running it down the field.
Still pushing at the boy, you heard directions being screamed through your helmet.
"25, get to number 4!"
Glancing down at the number printed across your chest, you shoved the boy to the side whilst yelping, "Oh, shit. That's me! That's me!" Bolting towards the boy chasing Tina.
You weren't able to get there in time.
Skidding to a halt, you threw the boy off her back while he manoeuvred himself up.
The whole team gathered around the girl, still flat on her face, along with the medics. Her boyfriend worriedly hovering over her.
"Is she breathing?" Mike asked.
"Is she dead?" you asked before you were able to stop yourself, too busy panicking and racking through your brain, trying to grasp onto any idea you could muster to help the girl. Gaining a swift smack around your helmet-covered head from Sam in reaction to having your foot in your mouth.
Finally, once her mouthguard was pulled away, Tina spoke, "Did we win?" Sending relief flooding through you, your teammates, and the crowd.
"Glad you're alive, Tina," you joked after pulling your helmet off.
"Thanks, so am I."
"We're still in this," Finn tried to keep everyone's hopes up.
"Oh, give it up, Finn," Rachel retaliated, turning to face the boy, "Our only shot at redemption, right now, is to kick butt at the halftime show."
"She's not wrong," you panted, gesturing over to the scoreboard, "I mean, how do we come back from this?"
Just then, a look crossed the brown-eyed boy's face, the type where two wires fell together and sparked a thought that could rival an epiphany.
"Sam! Come here." He waved him over. "I need to play quarterback for the rest of the half."
"Haven't you already?" you asked, confused. Considering he had been the one shouting out the plays all night.
However, the blonde nodded readily. "Okay." Leaving the taller boy to continue giving directions.
"Puck, when the half ends, you gotta go convince Karofsky and the rest of the guys to do the halftime show with us."
"How the hell am I supposed to do that?"
Finn rolled his eyes at the question. "Figure it out. You're my wingman, right?"
"I got tone, Mav," Puck assured, pumping the boy's awaiting fist as you threw out your arms in indignation, looking at Finn shocked.
"And what am I, your dancing chimpanzee?"
"W-Where are you going?" Rachel asked, sensing the boy was about to run off himself.
"You can't have a halftime show without cheerleaders."
"Oh, nuh-huh," you voiced, stopping him before he could make any real distance from your little group, "Quinn's probably still pissed at you. It won't do nothing than make it worse. I'll go."
"You sure?" he asked as you jogged past him, making you turn to face him, walk backwards down the field, and throwing your arms up onto the air, still holding onto your shiny red helmet.
"Well, she likes me right now!"
Then you turned, sprinting away, hoping to make it in time before they left. Even if you had to run in front of the bus to stop them.
Maybe your parents were right. You were reckless at times.
---
Running down the rows of parked buses, you were given some hope of reaching the girls before the Cheerios coach drove off with the cheerleaders inside, thanks to all the other Cheerios mulling around the area of the parking lot.
When the coach came into view, it wasn't hard to find the giant cannon this whole ordeal started with. Along with the three cheerleaders you recognised, even from the back.
"Hey, hey, hey," you called over to the trio, making them turn to find your panting form jogging up to them.
"What are you doing here?" Quinn asked, then looked you up and down, brows furrowing at your outfit, "And what are you wearing?"
You looked down at yourself, spreading your arms out, "Costume party. And to answer your first question, I'm here to stop you from going with Sue to the Regionals competition."
"Y/N..." the girl started, shaking her head softly.
"Come on, Quinn. Please come back to the game. We need you guys there."
"Haven't you been paying attention?" the head cheerleader snapped, "If we're not Cheerios, we're nothing."
"That stigma might have been pushed onto you, and every dumb fuckin' student here might believe that, but you and I both know that that's bullshit. You wanted to be popular, so you joined the Cheerios, but why did you join the Glee Club- Well, why did you stay in the club? Because you loved it, right?"
The three nodded softly.
"We care about you in the club. Sue doesn't! She's fine killing Brittany for a bullshit competition. Be honest with me, guys. if it meant you could still be popular and it wouldn't hurt your reputation, which would you choose?"
With a shrug, Brittany admitted, "Glee club."
"See." You gestured happily to the girl, before your eyes found Quinn's, spotting the sad yet unsure look in her own hazel ones. With a gentle sigh, you stepped toward the girl to speak with her more personally. "I know you. And I know that you don't think you are, but you're strong enough to do this. You're strong enough to do anything, Quinn Fabray."
The blonde smiled up at you, eyes shifting into the ones she used to look at you with during the summer.
"Okay," she breathed.
"Okay?"
A nod, "Yeah."
"Yes!" you yelled in celebration, shooting your arms up into the air, making the girl giggle. "San, what about you?" You then turned to the silent cheerleader.
"Screw her. She put me on the bottom of the pyramid."
"And there's no more harsh vibes between you two?" you asked, waving a finger between her and Quinn.
"No. We duked that out."
"Hot. Wish I could have been there." The blonde smacked your arm in playful punishment. "Ow," you spoke dully, "Okay, we've gotta go, halftimes in a few minutes, and we've gotta get changed ASAP."
"No time for a foursome, ladies," Sue called over from the front of the bus when you tried to leave with the girls, "Bus leaves in five."
"Which, by the way, I'm totally down for," you told the three with raised eyebrows, waving your helmet between the three.
"Of course you are," Santana smirked.
Ticking her head to the side, a smug look upon her own face, Quinn spoke to the coach, "We quit Cheerios." Making you beam proudly.
"You can't quit Cheerios," Sue stated, "Its blood in, blood out. Now get your sweet little cans on that bus."
"But we still quit," Santana pressed, ticking her head sassily.
"You're my stars. If you leave, I have no performance!"
"Sucks for you," Brittany sassed herself as you began walking away once more.
"You signed a consent form!"
"What's that?" You turned, finding the cheerleading coach holding up a sheet of paper. "That the only copy?" you asked, coming closer.
"The only one I need." Swiftly, you tugged the sheet of paper out of her fingertips and shredded it to pieces. "I can tape that back together," she told you smugly.
"That right?" you asked rhetorically, calling her bluff and throwing the shredded paper into your mouth. Taking a smug joy in the way her face fell at your actions. Swallowing the dry, clumpy paper down, you sassed, "Try taping that back together."
Chuckling, you jogged back to the three shocked teenagers, throwing your arms over both Quinn and Brittany's shoulders.
"You know that she couldn't have done anything with that consent form, right?" Quinn smiled up at you.
You stared down at the road below for a few seconds before speaking, "Shit."
---
Puck had managed to get all the football players -but Karofsky- to perform in the halftime show until the boys joined everyone at the end, dancing along with the zombies.
Things were still unsure for the team, which is why you were brought along into the boy's locker room, celebrating with them on the successful performance, before you possibly had to go back out there and tackle more rival players.
"Hey, what are you guys doing in here?" Beiste asked,
"Oh, we were just gonna take out zombie make-up off for the second half," Finn said, "It's kind of itchy."
"Yeah, you're tellin' me," you agreed from your seat upon one of the wooden benches, scratching at your neck where the stuff started.
"No, leave it on. Maybe we'll freak out the other guys a little bit and we need all the help we can get right now. Now, get out there."
"All of us?"
At Puck's question, you peered over at the woman curiously, awaiting her decision on letting the guys back on the team.
"Yeah." She nodded. "All of us."
"Oh, thank God!" you celebrated yourself, once the boys finished cheering, flopping down onto the bench fully, head rolling back into the wood, "Now I can lay down."
"I don't think so."
A groaned, questioning grunt left your mouth as you turned to peer at the coach, who only looked at you pointedly.
"Oh, no!"
"Oh, yes!" She nodded to you happily. "Now, get back out there!"
"I don't wanna! I'm tired!"
"Come on, Y/N." Sam smiled, fingers curling into the shoulder pads sitting on your chest, using that leverage to pull you back up, "You've got more people to tackle."
As you were ascending, against your will, you whined out, "But violence is never the answer."
---
Turns out, having football players who actually participated in the game and knew what they were doing, not including yourself, really made the difference. It also might have had something to do with the make-up.
Finn and everyone around you, were still telling you what number to go for. But other than that, you seemed to be doing pretty well out there. Not to mention you were having a lot of fun out there, more so than the first half. And that could be seen, thanks to your humoured laugh, straightening out your helmet.
"Did you bite him?" you managed to get out through chuckles.
Puck just grinned at you knowingly whilst nodding his head, only making you crack up more.
It was the last stretch of the game when Sam nodded to the huddled team. "It was a good run. We almost had it."
"Well," you began with an exhaled breath, "Considering the fuckery that was the first half, I think this was a big achievement."
Finn, ever the optimist, said, "Hey, this game isn't over."
"There's, like, ten seconds left. It's over." Karofsky shrugged.
Then it dawned on the once quarterback, "Not if the quarterback fumbles the snap."
"How do we make him do that?"
He knocked on your chest. "Just follow my lead."
Meeting the rival team at the line, you started the chant of 'brains', swaying like zombies as you did, creeping them out. Which quickly lead to the entire crowd chanting it into the night sky, like some stereotypical cult meeting.
And it did exactly what Finn planned it would.
The quarterback, too distracted by the crowd, missed catching the ball. Giving your best friend the perfect chance to scoop it up and run it to the end zone, successfully winning the game for your school.
"Oh, I'm gonna pass out as soon as I hit my bed tonight," you groaned, dropping your helmet to the ground and holding your knees as soon as you got to the sideline where the rest of your friends stood waiting.
"Are you okay?" Quinn asked, unable to wipe the smile from her face. Both at winning the game and your overdramatics of the moment.
"I'm exhausted." You let out another deep guttural groan from your chest, spotting the helmet at your feet. Sliding it across the ground, you lowered yourself down, choosing to use the hard thing as a pillow. "I'm gonna take a nap."
"Y/N, you can't-"
"I'm gonna take a nap right here!"
"They always were overdramatic when they're tired."
Your eyes snapped open when you heard that voice. Looking up, you spotted your fathers both looking down at you with proud smiles up on their faces. Scrambling up, you rushed to give them a hug. Full pads and all.
"Dads!"
"We're so proud of you."
"Thanks!" Pulling back, you told them, almost conspiratorially, "I ate paper today."
"Why did you eat paper?" LeRoy asked, both their eyes wide in shock at the information.
"It's a long story, and you had to be there. But all you need to know is that I had to do it, and it wasn't pointless in the slightest."
From over your shoulder, Hiram and LeRoy could see a still zombie Quinn, shaking her head obviously, clearly mouthing the word 'no', letting them know you were lying.
They both hummed at your words as you continued to smile at them happily, content with the decision you made earlier.
They wondered how you weren't a 'leash kid' when they were younger sometimes.
---
Rounding the corner, still turning heads in the halls as the students walked to their next class, thanks to your involvement in the championship game, you came face to face with one Quinn Fabray.
"Hey!" You smiled brightly at the girl, who still looked at you like you had hung the stars in the sky.
"Hi." The blonde watched you for a couple moments before she blinked herself out of her thoughts and gestured to the folded letterman jacket in your hand. "What's with this?"
"Oh, well, I borrowed it when I got slushied the other day, 'cause I didn't have any other clothes. Just tried to give it back."
"She letting you keep it as a souvenir?" she asked, referencing your participation on the field.
"Yeah." You nodded happily. "Also said that I might as well keep it now instead of getting it next year."
Quinn's eyes lit up in surprise. "You're on the team?"
"Apparently so. She said I was good, even though I had no clue what I was doing out there. It's strange, huh? I gain a uniform just as you give one up. How does that feel, by the way?"
She shrugged happily. "Weird. Did turn a couple heads."
"Well, I think it suits you," you spoke earnestly, glancing her up and down, taking in her dress, "Very 'nieve girl going to see church grandma', but still hot at the same time."
Playfully, the blonde shoved your shoulder, trying to push away the heat building upon her cheeks.
"I never got the chance to thank you." She looked down bashfully. "For helping me do the right thing."
"Ah, all you had to do was get out of this." A soft tap on her forehead. "I'm sure if we weren't on such a time crunch, you would have figured it out yourself in no time."
"I... I just have to say that you were amazing this week. On the field and off."
You gave a soft chuckle, "Yeah, it seems I'm just as good at tackling football players on the field as I am during fights."
She laughed lightly, shaking her head. "Your dedication to your friends and how much you cared... it reminded me of why I fell for you."
"Wait..." Your head drew back, breath thinning out of shock of what Quinn had just confessed. "Y- You fell for me."
"Of course, I did." She shrugged as if it were obvious. "How could anyone not?"
"Quinn... I..."
As you stumbled over your words, trying to process the information that was thrust upon you, hardly noticing the blonde moving closer to you. Finally, snapping out of your stupor, by the feeling of her hands on your chest, travelling to wrap around your neck.
"Wait..."
Quinn hummed, nose nudging against yours. In the middle of the school hallways.
"We shouldn't be doing this," you said, with your hand on her hip, "You're- You're with Sam. And you're still not ready to come out, right?"
The girl sighed, nodding her head as she rubbed your cheekbone with her thumb. "You're right." She finished her sentence off by pressing a heavy kiss against your cheek, then left you alone in the hall, looking over her shoulder, shooting you a soft smile, before rounding the corner.
And you could only think one thing.
'Quinn Fabray loves me!'

I Ran Home That Day ♾️
I ran home that day
Sprinted so quickly down the road to finally have an answer
To know why I cause so many problems and why I’m the epitome of, “weird”
A warm day in the middle of May, it was
And my mom stood on the porch, waiting for me
I was grinning, I still don’t know why
I was excited as if I were about to be given a gift or a new toy to play with
My mom’s words came out calmly, a little apprehensively, though
Like she didn’t want to say them out loud
But she did
“Morgan, you have Asperger’s, with the ADHD.”
She couldn’t say, “autism”
Because that word
Was big
And heavy
It had so many connotations
But I was eleven years old
I didn’t know any better
We went inside and I put my backpack away
And cried
Somewhere between relief and fear
What did that mean for me now? For the future? What now, what now?
Relief shined through, though
I had been carrying fear within me that there wasn’t anything diagnosable
My worst fear, that I was just a bad kid
But I wasn’t
I was put into a world that wasn’t made for me
And I dealt with it the best way I could; through tics and fidgets and never shutting up and loving things intently
And I cried
My mom hadn’t hugged me that tight in my entire life
I had to get my sister off the bus
She was the first person I told
She didn’t know what it meant, but ass-burgers was funny to her
She didn’t know any better, either
That night, I had a choir concert for my school
I wore my chorus shirt with black sweatpants
Because I couldn’t stand denim
I stood in the warm-up room off to the side by myself
Knowing something that no one else did
Could they see it now? Did they know before I did?
A few girls from my class came up to me
“Why are you wearing sweatpants?”
But my face had to have shown something— worry, embarrassment, confusion, something— because the girls changed course
“It’s okay, you’re lucky. I wish my mom let me wear sweatpants all the time.”
They didn’t know the battle that went on about that at home; and with brushing my teeth; with showering; with learning how to shave; with talking too much; with not talking at all when stressed; with, with, with
But I wasn’t going to tell them
Less I need another thing to stick a target to my back: Morgan has family issues and is autistic, too
I don’t remember the singing part of the chorus concert
Though, I do remember the song, “Three Quotes” inspired by the works of Mark Twain
One part of the song had all of us kids yell on stage: “Rude, rambunctious crescendo” is what I remember the choir teacher telling us in the rehearsal days we had prior
The days where I sang loud to not think, “What if I’m a bad kid, what if I’m a bad kid? What then, what then?”
And blared music until my ears rang to not think, “What happens then? What will I do if I’m just a bad kid?”
During the crescendo, I went mute
The ringing in my ears and the thoughts in my head were so loud that I believed I was saying them out loud
So loud in my head
I’m autistic, I am on the spectrum, I don’t know what that means
I wanted to go home
Sit in the dark
But I had more songs to smile and dance and off-key sing to
When it was over, I ran to my mom
And hugged her tight
A friend of mine came up to me
Smiling, happy to see me, wanting to tell me I did a good job, even when I really didn’t
She was the second person I told
I don’t know why I brought it up
She had been my friend since the first grade
So I trusted her
“I’m autistic.”
“Oh.”
Oh
That’s all she said
Social deficit, I’d made a social misstep
But we pushed on
She hugged me and took a picture with me thanks to both our mom’s insistence
I still have that picture now
Tired eyes, my crooked smile
A forced, crooked smile
But a smile nonetheless
I went home and my mom told me to be comfortable
To relax
I went right to my room, mind racing, to my computer to research
And research
And research
And research some more
My eyes were going wonky
So tired
But I had to know and had to educate myself and had to learn what such a heavy word meant
I went to sleep late that night
Definitely not relaxed
And faced the morning
And faced the day
I pulled my favorite teacher aside and told her
“I have Asperger’s.”
“I have nephews with it. Don’t worry, you’re still a smart girl.”
She hugged me, too
I never said I wasn’t smart
One student overheard
And told another
Then another
Then another
And it spread like a wildfire
People knew when I didn’t want them to
I was questioned
If I was bullied for just showing autistic traits, then what do you think happened when people learned that they were right?
Called the r-word in the hallway
Picked last in gym class
Avoided like the plague
Avoided like the plague
How was I supposed to be proud
Of something that made things worse for a long, long time?
I denied all accusations
“I’m not autistic. What are you talking about?”
And went on with my life
I told my best friend
“I’m autistic.”
“That’s okay, your mind is just a little funky. But everyone’s mind is their own kind of funky.”
She was kind to me
She was kind to me
I entered high school and met more kids with it
Kids who could say that they were autistic
Proudly
Incredible
I watched them
And wanted to be proud
It got written on my student record
My new choir teacher embraced it fully
She was kind to me
I ran to her class every day
And got picked on for being a kiss-ass
But I slowly didn’t care
There are people who can be kind
The teasing and bullying and cruelty won’t matter in the long run
Though its wounds still stay with me
I stuck with kind people
I ran to them
Ran down to hall to see my friends
Who were all weird and queer and different
But I loved them all
They kept me safe
Kind people kept me safe
I ran to them
Held them close to me
Grew up beside the other weirdos
And didn’t feel alone
Didn’t feel heavy
Wasn’t avoided
Found peace in people like me
Told more people
Found pride
Found pride for the first time
And ran toward better days where I grew up and allowed myself to rest
To take it easy
To find people like me and to love them
To love them
To love me
And to love big, heavy words
And to fly free
And run towards light

If you had to make a script for a Billy Joel episode of Glee what episodes would you put in it
Okay so I actually think the Billy Joel episode of Glee did a decent job with the songs it chose:
Movin' Out
Piano Man
My Life
An Innocent Man
Honesty
Just the Way You Are
You May Be Right
They had previously done Piano Man, Only the Good Die Young, Uptown Girl, New York State of Mind, and The Longest Time.
They had no problem using Piano Man again, so I'm going to treat songs appearing previously as no object, that being said I feel less strongly that Only the Good Die Young is essential since it was used in the show elsewhere. Anyway I'm going to come up with seven songs because Movin' Out had seven and that gives me a guide lol. This isn't a cohesive episode plot it's just songs I think would work well, I will think about a cohesive episode plot but I need more time for that.
I would do:
The Entertainer (idk who would sing this but I'm picturing Mr. Schue bringing someone in to mentor the kids about the music business and this person being cynical and singing this song)
You May Be Right (but edited better, christ I hate how they edited it)
Tell Her About It (I see Blaine doing this one)
Allentown (that tank factory you're obsessed with fits in with the dying industrial town theme, also the music video for this is a little homoerotic so Kurt and Blaine could do something with that maybe)
An Innocent Man (in the episode this is used as a teen angst romance thing and it's great, it was kind of a surprising choice to me at the time and it was excellent I would keep it)
Summer, Highland Falls but only if Blaine gets to sing/play piano (I can't stomach a Glee cover of Vienna even though I think Darren Criss could do it so he gets Summer, Highland Falls)
We Didn't Start the Fire (Gwyneth Paltrow's substitute character should do this one. Also I know Mr. Schue becomes a history teacher but it doesn't suit him.)
I know Piano Man is obligatory but fuck that. It's too long and you can't edit Piano Man because Billy Joel will write a whole other song just to yell at you. Also like enough already. Enough.
Some other considerations:
This Is the Time as a Finn/Rachel graduation/breakup situation, featuring the other high school kid couples facing an uncertain future as well
My Life was great in the episode also and I would love to see that again
It's Still Rock and Roll to Me in the context of the kids freaking out because their intel says their competition (that school in the pilot with the steel drum band) is doing something flashy and new and Mr. Schue reassuring them that it's all still just rock and roll and they just need to do what they do
Keeping the Faith in the context of doing an old school throwback number for a competition but I would kill myself if I had to watch Glee do that because old school throwback numbers were my school's show choir's Thing and they won all kinds of competitions and everyone was obsessed with them
Miami 2017 when one of the original kids has a getting fired/quitting/dropping out arc in New York and is being dramatic about it lol

song lyrics (aaron x reader)
summary: in which you have a slight fight with Drum over your favorite practice room. you need it to practice your music and he needs it to practice whatever it is he does, but Aaron finds out and comes to your rescue.
before you read: this is probably the most self indulgent fic i’ve ever written, forgive any inaccuracies. i'm assuming aaron can play piano because my school only lets you play percussion if you can play piano, school starts at 6:45 for me so it does in this fic as well, LOWKEY OOC AARON…, voice teachers are scary af , READER IS FEM, written in honor of me having a recital in a week and i am in fact losing my voice, DRUM APPEARS AND LIKE THE THING IS IS THAT I DONT REMEMBER WHO’S WHO SO HE’S JUST REFERRED TO AS DRUM , this flows so weirdly sorry yall i promise i had an outline , this is like the 20th fic that reader cries in (reader is so me.), i didn’t wince as much while writing the affection (PROGRESS!!!), THIS IS  NOT PROOFREADDD  reader is implied to be in choir and not in play an instrument anymore, SOME MUSICAL TERMS?? if you’re confused about them I Will Add Explanations.
WC: 6.2k words. holy moly.
songs referenced that are good to listen to:
sebben crudele
ah! tardai troppo
Tumblr media
You always tried to get to school early to make use of the practice rooms especially since everyone seemed to want to use them at that time. You especially needed to practice considering the fact that you had a rehearsal today with your accompanist and you hadn’t practiced at all for it. You found that arguably the best practice room was open so you placed your stuff in there and tried to quickly get your binder and your anthology book for lessons. You noticed a person standing in front of the room. He notices you as well. “Are you using it?” He asks, looking at you expectantly.
“Yeah? My stuff is already in there,” you tell him, clutching your binder. If he really wanted to fight about a practice room at 6 in the morning, he could if he wanted to. You would gladly give it up if he was going to keep it going, but you’d make practicing absolute hell for him.
“Well I need to use it to record something for an assignment,” he says, clearly expecting you to give up the practice room. You roll your eyes at him. He really couldn’t have used one of the other open practice rooms? Sure their acoustics were horrible in comparison to this one, but your stuff was already in there!
“I needed to use it to practice something for voice lessons,” you respond, raising your binder and book up. He looks at it, confused.
“Can’t you do that somewhere else?” He asks, giving you a look of disdain. You roll your eyes and decide to end the conversation. When you said you’d make practicing hell for him, you weren’t joking. You enter the practice room next to his and you pull out your sheet music. After doing some light hums and lip trills, you pull out a couple arias from your book. Quickly taking a sip of water, you sing a couple scales. Your voice seemed to be in good condition today. Perfect. You decide on the easier of the two arias to avoid straining your voice - Sebben Crudele. You sing through it to see if you had it memorized and thankfully you did! This would help you avoid the wrath of your voice teacher. You were going through the rough patches of the song when you heard a knock on the door. You look through the window and see the guy from earlier.
You open the door and give him a confused look. He clears his throat. “Do you mind keeping it down? Everytime I record my part check, I hear more of you than I hear myself!” He’s cut off by the sound of yelling down the hall.
“DRUM. DRUM. DRUM I SWEAR TO GOD.” You both look to see where the voice is coming from and you see the source coming this way. It was a brunette boy who looked outraged at the guy who knocked on your door. You both look at him confused. Why was he calling out for a drum???
“Aaron what’s wrong???” The guy asked, looking confused.
“Tell me why I found your crumpled up sheet music on the floor covered in spit,” Aaron says, clearly pissed. He gives you a look and then Drum?? one as well. “Is he bothering you?” He asks. You sigh and nod.
“She was bothering me! She kept like making all these high pitched noises!” Drum?? says, looking at you as if you committed a war crime.
“This is what happens when you make the wrong person mad,” you mutter, rolling your eyes at the dude in front of you. Aaron sighs at the exchange.
“Do you mean singing?” He asks him, giving him a dirty look.
“Yeah! That thing!! Can’t you do that anywhere?? So she doesn’t really need the practice room!” Drum tried arguing.
“You can also play your little instruments anywhere, but I’m not complaining about that,” you retort.
“Aaron!! Do Something!!” He says. The boy rolls his eyes.
“Just leave her alone. She has a point. What’s your name?” Aaron asks, turning to you. You tell him your name and he nods. “If he keeps bothering you, or if any of the drumline bothers you, come to me and I’ll set things straight.” You nod at his comment, amused that he’d even say something like that. He was probably a section leader, you thought, judging by the way he commanded that guy to leave you alone. He reminded you of one of your old section leaders. You leave it at that and shut the door and continue practicing.
Aaron sighed as he dragged Drum away from the practice rooms and into the band room. He gave him the dirtiest of looks. “Why would you embarrass us like that?” He asks, rubbing his temples as Drum struggled to come up with an explanation. “You know what Wiley said, to leave the vocalists alone if they’re practicing. They need the practice rooms just as much as we do.”
“Yeah but she was so loud! She was louder than me trying to play the part check!” He whines. Aaron does the thing that you do to dogs to get them to calm down. He pokes his neck with two fingers.
“If she’s louder than your playing, then that’s your issue. An instrument playing at forte will always be louder than someone singing forte,” he grumbles, obviously fed up with his antics. This wasn’t the first time that a spat between Drum and a vocalist occurred. “Just practice elsewhere. Practice here for god’s sake.” Aaron decides to walk out of the room, but stay nearby to see if he actually practices. He does not. He let out a loud exhale as he tried to come up with a prank to use to get Drum to practice productively. The bell rang and interrupted his thinking.
You let out a sigh as the bell rang. You didn’t want to go to class and would much rather practice your music. Instead of putting your belongings back into the choir room, you decided to just put them in your backpack. As you exited, he called out your name. You turn to face him and greet him with a smile. “Thanks for earlier,” you say, fidgeting with your hands.
He nods. “It was nothing.” The two of you walk in awkward silence until you exit the music hallway.
“So what class are you headed to?” You ask him as you both go the same way.
“Poetry.” “Do you like it?” You ask. He didn’t seem like the type to take poetry in the first place, but we all have our interests.
“I think it’s a good outlet for me, even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of it when I took the class. I only took it because my counselor said I couldn’t take a different class.” You nod at his words. You had beef with your counselor so you understand why he felt that way. “What class are you going to?” He asks, looking you straight in the eye. You only realized this now, but he was really attractive. You brush it off and continue the conversation. You can talk about him to your friends later.
“English,” you say, shuddering. He gives you a confused look.
“Who do you have?”
“Williams.” He makes a face that could only be described as pure loathing.
“Well I’m sorry for your loss. I hated her when I had her.”
“I always feel horrible for the classes near us whenever she goes on one of her rants,” you murmur, thinking back to the time that she got really pissed about a kid’s essay and threw a heavy metal water bottle.
“No yeah, my poetry class is right next door and every time she starts going on a tangent, my teacher just tells us to brace ourselves and he plays music,” he says, almost amused. You nod and let out a laugh. The two of you walk in silence to the English wing and separate once you two get to your respective classes. But before the two of you enter your respective classes he stops you. You give him a confused look.
“Is something wrong?” You ask, tilting your head. He shakes his head with a smile. “No, just hand me your phone,” he says, sticking his hand out.
“Didn’t think you’d be the type to ask for my number so soon,” you joke, obviously keeping your phone away from him. He laughs as you try to keep him from getting it.
“Well then, if you don’t want my number, then I guess you’ll have to fall victim to all the band kids who are gonna bother you in the practice rooms,” he says, shrugging and getting ready to leave.
“Wait! Aaron, no!” You say, grabbing his hand and placing your phone in it. He lets out a chuckle at how you caved. He puts his number into your phone and sends himself a text. He pulls out his phone and checks to see if it sent. It did.
“If any band kids pester you again, just text me and I’ll gladly come to your rescue,” he says, smirking at you.
“Thanks for the offer Prince Charming, but I don’t think you’ll have to.”
“Oh so you think I’m charming?” He asks, raising his eyebrows at you. You shake your head and try to hide your laughter as you head to class, but he stops you again. “What class do you have after this?”
“Math…”
“With who?”
“Miller…”
“We’re in the same class.”
“What? How have I not noticed you?” You ask him, trying to recall if he ever was in your class.
“I don’t know, but I knew you looked familiar earlier. Let’s walk to math together afterwards?” You nod and finally get into your classroom just before the bell rang.
You wait for Aaron outside of your classroom. The door to his class is still closed, but right as you’re about to leave, the door swings open. He comes out of class, eyes scanning the area, looking for you. He smiles when he sees that you waited for him. “Glad that you didn’t forget about our little plan,” he says, walking next to you.
“How could I? It’s not everyday that you talk to Mr. Prince Charming himself,” you say, laughing at your own joke.
“If anything, Peter’s Prince Charming. I think I’m more of a Derek Charming,” he says shrugging.
“Like from Ever After High?” You ask, looking amused.
“Yeah, that one.”
“What do you know about Ever After High?” You tease.
“I’ll have you know that I watch it with my little sister,” he says, sticking his hands up in defense. A thought pops into your head.
“Wait, so where do you sit in math? I still don’t know how I didn't notice that you were in my class.”
“I’m like all the way in the back corner by the door.” You nod.
“That’s a really good seat. I got stuck sitting by her desk. But looking out the windows is really nice, if she actually leaves the blinds open.” You both snicker at your comment. Your teacher was infamous for having an insanely dark classroom that everyone fell asleep in. Her blinds were always closed and her lights would always be off and instead, she would only have fairy lights on. You both entered the class and you both chatted at his spot until the bell rang. You wandered off to your desk and sat there, getting your things out.
“Ok class! I have a bad headache right now, so you guys can just do these practice problems with a partner and just check them with the answer key by the end of class,” she said, handing out sheets of paper. You turn to look for a partner and realize that your friend was absent today. You sigh and figure that you’ll just work alone on it. When you get ready to start the first problem, you notice a figure standing by your desk. You look up and see Aaron.
“Wanna be my partner?” He asks and you nod. You follow him to his seat and pull up a chair. He’s actually pretty good at math which is nice since math is definitely one of your weak spots. The two of you make small talk until he asks an interesting question. “Would you want to hypothetically help me pull a prank?” You raise an eyebrow.
“On who?” “The guy from earlier. He’s in my section and he’s been causing some trouble lately and I need to keep him in line somehow.” You nod at his reasoning. It makes sense, but you’ve never heard of anyone pulling pranks to keep anyone in line. The worst thing a section leader has done in choir was probably just throw a stand with someone’s binder and music in it but that was different from a prank.
“I’ll think about it. I just need more details, you know?” He nods. “What would you even do?” He says something regarding his drum. “But how would I be involved?”
“I just need you to do your thing and sing your little heart out. That shouldn’t be too difficult right?” You let out a small laugh at his question.
“It shouldn’t be. Any suggestions on what I should be singing?” You ask jokingly. But he seems to take it seriously.
“Do you have your music on you?” You nod and pull out your anthology book and hand it to him. He reads the title.
“Coloratura arias for soprano. Neat.” He flips through the book, examining the music. He places the book between the two of you so you both can get a look. You already knew the contents of the book, so you chose to observe him. He grimaced as he looked at a page.
“What’s wrong?” You ask, trying to see what page he was on. It was a page from the aria “Ah! Tardai Troppo”. All the melismas must’ve been what he was referencing. “Nothing. Your music just looks intimidating. But I think you should sing this one.” He gently shuts the book and hands it to you. Your hands brush for a split second. You’re definitely going to tell your friends about him. You put your book away in your bag and continue on with the math problems.
—
Later in the day, you walk to the music hallway with a skip in your step after your interactions with Aaron. He’s really sweet and funny and just… he’s amazing. You go to find your voice teacher in the choir room, but you see her speaking to Garth. Garth was one of your closest friends as you often kept him company when he wasn’t busy accompanying any of the choirs. Both of them looked concerned and only looked even more worried when they both saw you. “Did someone die?” You ask, looking around. No one else was there except for the three of you.
“No, it’s not that. I’m afraid I won’t be able to accompany you during solo/ensemble night. Something personal came up,” Garth says. You nod in understanding. Whatever it was, you hope that he’s ok. “It’s ok Garth! I just need to find someone else to accompany me right?” You ask, looking between the two of them. Your voice teacher nods and Garth clears his throat.
“Yep! And in fact, I think I have the perfect person for you. Do you know Aaron? Aaron Pace?” Garth asks. You nod. “I’m sure he’d be willing to accompany you. In fact, I think he has lunch this hour so you could ask him right now and you could give him my music as well.” He hands you the sheet music.
“I’ll go hunt him down!” You say, giving a mock salute to the two of them. You exit the choir room and head into the practice rooms. You send Aaron a quick text.
where are you?
He responds just as fast.
practice rooms, why?
You sigh
i need to meet with you, it’s important.
meet me in the big piano practice room. i’m already there.
You circle around the practice rooms and find the one he was talking about. He was sitting on the piano bench on his phone and looking up. His eyes brightened when he saw you and he let out a chuckle when you tried to pull open the heavy door. “What’s up?” He asks, looking concerned after seeing the look on your face.
“I kind of have a favor to ask you. It’s fine if you don’t want to, but basically I need an accompanist for solo ensemble night and mine kind of bailed and he told me to ask you if you could be my accompanist,” you sputter out. He nods, deep in thought.
“I mean sure, why not? Solo ensemble night is like, a month away right?” You nod. “That should be enough time for me to learn the music. Do you have it with you?” You murmur something that seemed like a response and you handed him the sheet music. “Oh nice. This is the song we were looking at earlier, and most of it looks easy enough to learn in like 30 minutes or so. Tell you what, since we’re both a little occupied with our little prank today, when I get home I’ll learn it and if I can learn it pretty quickly, I’ll send you a text and you can come over. If not, we can just run it tomorrow during lunch.” “Yep! That sounds good. Thank you so much for agreeing to this even though I kinda just sprang it onto you,” you say sheepishly.
“Well I’ll be off now. Good luck with whatever his name is.” He laughs at your comment and you walk out. Little did you know, he only agreed to it because it was you.
Later in the day, you get a text from Aaron.
i finished learning it. there were only a couple tricky spots, so you can come over now. here’s my address - xxxx
You read through the text and type out a response
would you mind picking me up? It’s totally fine if you can’t, my car’s just getting an oil change right now
You hear the chime of a notification
what's your address? i’ll be omw
You send him your address. After 15 minutes or so you hear the doorbell ring. You grab your things and then head downstairs to look through the peephole. You see him standing there. You open the door. “Hi,” you say, feeling immediately awkward after saying it.
“Hi,” he says back. It takes 5 seconds of awkward silence before the two of you burst out in laughter. “So are you ready to go?” He asks, fiddling with his hands.
“Mhm!! Let me just lock the door real quick and then we can go.” You exit the house and try to lock the door. You stand there, trying to hold all your things while trying to put the key into the lock and Aaron takes your music from you when he notices you struggling. You thank him and you both get into his car, with him opening the door for you. You two both sit in comfortable silence as he drives to his house. You both get out and he uses his house keys to get inside. He gives you a slight tour and leads you to the room where his piano is. He grabs a stand nearby and hands it to you. You decide to break the silence.
“How was it?” You ask, and he hums in response as he’s setting up his music. He freezes like a deer in headlights.
“How was what?”
“Learning the music,” you say, deciding to copy him and set up your music as well. He nods at your response. You notice that he hasn’t responded and has what seems to be a thinking face.
“It wasn’t horrible,” Aaron says, shrugging. You laugh at his response. “What? It wasn’t!”
“I’m not laughing at you, I’m laughing at how long it took for you to come up with a response,” you say, covering your mouth before your laughter turned into a fit of giggles.
“You are the absolute worst,” he says jokingly, making an exaggerated sighing noise and marking something in his music.
“But you love me for it!” You say, mimicking his actions. He rolls his eyes at you and clears his throat.
“Is there anything that you do that isn’t written in the music?” He asks, picking his pencil up.
“There’s a few ritardandos and other things, but we could just go through the piece and fix it as we go,” you say, flipping through your music. A question lies on the tip of your tongue, but you decide not to ask. Aaron can tell that you were thinking about something though based off of your facial expression.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. I was just curious about why you asked that,” you admit.
“Because I’m accompanying you… It’s not my first time doing this,” he says, laughing at your dumbfounded expression. “You’re the soloist, not me. I’ll always be sure to watch you and follow you.”
“How? Are you gonna practice or something?” You tease, laughing at your own joke.
“I wouldn’t mind doing so if it was you,” he retorts. “But if that’s all, then that should be fine. We should be able to get started.”
You nod and you take a swig of water from your water bottle. He plays the intro to the piece. It goes shockingly well considering that he just learnt the piece and that you hadn’t practiced much, but you eventually get to the end of whatever good luck the two of you had. You got to a very painful melisma with way too many accidentals to count which made it hard to stay in key.
[a melisma is basically a riff - it’s singing multiple notes on one syllable].
Aaron makes a face and stops playing when your voice trails off. “What happened?” He asks, looking genuinely concerned.
“Nothing! I’m fine, I just psyched myself out a little bit with that part. I think I just need to review it really slowly really quickly,” you say, shuddering at the fact. Normally you could sing it in front of literally anyone, but why were you scared to sing it in front of Aaron? He wasn’t going to blow up at you or anything for not being able to sing it.
“No yeah, I get that,” he says, nodding at your comment.
“It’s just embarrassing that I messed up,” you say sheepishly, choosing to fiddle with a corner of your sheet music.
“Don’t worry about it, you sounded great,” he says, turning to face you and giving you what seems to be a genuine smile. You nod and murmur a quick thank you. “So do you want me to play your part for you, or do you want to play it?”
“I can play it.” With that, he scoots over on the piano bench and gives you space to sit. You play your starting note and hum it. You try to make your way through the melisma, but it’s been a while since you had to play an instrument. Aaron notices you struggling after a few rough attempts.
“Here, let me,” he says, so quietly that it was almost a whisper. He gently removes your hands from the keys and instead places his on the keys. With his free hand, he places your hands on top of his and slowly breaks it down for you, letting you control the tempo. After doing this a few times, he looks at you expectantly. “Do you feel better?” He asks, turning to face you.
He looks you straight in the eye. You nod and quickly get up from the bench, trying to hide the flustered look on your face. You think he doesn’t and the rest of the rehearsal goes smoothly. Afterwards, you both make arrangements to meet up again and rehearse before solo ensemble night.
After a few more rehearsals, you became much more comfortable performing with Aaron. In fact, you became so comfortable that instead of having productive rehearsals, you’d spend the time mostly talking. You both leaned towards each other to listen to what the other would say. The two of you would talk about small things, like new music that you got or just about your day. But this rehearsal was different. You had been on the brink of losing your voice due to the fact that you’d been overusing it lately, but you tried not to let that get the best of you. You kept running through the piece with him over and over again, but it kept getting harder and harder to get up there. Eventually it got to a point where nothing would come out. When he couldn’t hear your voice, he turned to look at you, but all he saw was you taking deep breaths with teary eyes.
Aaron didn’t know what possessed him, but he immediately got up and went to you. As he got closer, he realized that you started crying harder and started sniffling as well. He starts trying to calm you down, but you decide to wrap your arms around him. He holds you and tries to soothe you as your tears keep coming and eventually they come to a stop. “Are you alright? What happened?” He asks as you pull away from him and just stare. He’s surprised when your voice comes out hoarse and raspy.
“Nothing. I just needed to shut up for a little bit, go on vocal rest, you know? And I was stupid and I chose to ignore it and it just-” You say, trailing off. He nods and opens his arms towards you, giving you a silent offer for a hug. You accept it and he rubs your back as you try to keep calm.
“You don’t need to push yourself. Solo ensemble night is going to go well, don’t worry about it,” he murmurs as you choose to bury your head in his shoulder. He pats your head and is eventually able to coax all the negative feelings out of you. That night, you realized one thing. You absolutely and positively have a thing for Mr. Aaron Pace.
That night you decided that you needed to tell someone about what happened and what you should do. You were in absolute shambles. You didn’t know what to do. If you told him about your feelings and destroyed the friendship the two of you had, you didn’t know what you’d do. You decided to call Cadence since she’d probably know the most about him in the first place.
Your phone rang a few times until Cadence answered. You had science with her and the two of you became friends due to the fact that you two both came to class when there were no other seats open, so you both just ended up sitting next to each other. “Hi!! What’s up?” Cadence asks, angling her camera until you could only see her forehead and her eyes. You laugh at her and take a screenshot to annoy her with later. “Why’d you screenshot it?” She asks, zooming out to give you a dirty look.
“No reason,” you say, smirking. “But seriously I wanna ask you about something.” “I’m all ears,” she says, placing her phone on her bed and staring directly into the camera.
“Ew… Don’t do that…” You say, covering your eyes and exaggeratedly shuddering at her actions. “Fine, but what is it that you wanted to talk about?”
“I think I have a crush on someone-” “Who? Is it Aaron?” She asks, wiggling her eyebrows. Your jaw drops. Was it that obvious? “It wasn’t… Actually it kinda was, but if he hasn’t said anything about it yet, then I’d say that he thinks highly of you at least. If he didn’t, he probably would’ve told you to drop it or to stop talking to him.”
“I said that out loud?” You ask, looking confused. She nods.
“Mhm. But seriously, I think you have a chance. Maybe all you need to do is tell him!” “But what if I ruin our friendship by doing that?”
“Well, do the benefits outweigh the risks? Because if you’re really worried about ruining the friendship or something, just ask yourself that before doing so. Other than that, I don’t know what to tell you.” You proceed to tell her about the incident and what happened and she gives the same insight. “He’s blunt. He’s not gonna act like that just because. In fact, I’m surprised he even agreed to being your accompanist in the first place. But there’s a first for everything, so I say you should just go for it.” With that, your conversation with Cadence ends. You let out a loud exhale as you let yourself fall onto your bed. You truly didn’t know what to do.
You decided the best way to deal with this was to distance yourself from him. Cadence was right, you needed to be able to weigh both the pros and cons before confessing. You needed to clear your head, and you knew that you wouldn’t be able to do that if you kept talking to him. Your walk to class felt lonely without him and you felt your heart ache when you passed him in the hallway. He tried to wave to you, but you flat-out ignored him. After English, you made sure to take a different route to your shared math class. This routine continued until solo ensemble night.
When the night came, you paced anxiously backstage. You were ready to get this over with and be free from your thoughts of Aaron. However, he didn’t make it easy. You were busy watching someone’s performance on stage and didn’t notice him walking over and standing next to you. Someone clearing their throat catches your attention. “You know, you shouldn’t be doing that. It messes with your voice,” you say, not realizing who you were speaking to.
“But I’m not singing,” he says. You turn and finally notice who’s next to you.
“Aaron?” You ask, mouth open in shock. You didn’t think he’d willingly talk to you after you tried distancing yourself from him.
“Did I do something to you? Did I cross a line during that one rehearsal? If I did something, please tell me. I can’t have you ignoring me like this, especially not when I feel- nevermind,” he murmurs, all of it coming out at once.
“You didn’t do anything. It was just me being stupid,” you mutter, rubbing your temples in embarrassment.
“Whatever it was, it probably wasn’t stupid. I’m sure you had a good reason,” he says, trying to get through to you. You shake your head, but you can’t. He takes your face in his hands and looks you in the eye.
“It was stupid. It was so so stupid. I thought that distancing myself from you would help me figure out whether or not I should confess to you and it didn’t work at all and now I’m just left with all these feelings for you and I don’t know what to do,” you blurt out, immediately covering your mouth. You’re shocked that all these words exit your mouth, especially since you were so terrified of confessing to him in the first place. Aaron lets out a deep breath and hugs you tightly.
“You know, you could’ve just told me. I don’t just act this way with anyone. I really do care for you. I have feelings for you as well,” he whispers into your ear. “Can I kiss you?” He asks, pulling away from the hug. You nod and wrap your arms around his neck and he places his hands on your waist. The two of you pull away from each other just before you’re called to the stage. “Good luck out there. Not that you’ll need it,” he says, smirking at you. He pats your head and quickly fixes your hair before the two of you walk out.
“I could say the same to you,” you whisper to him in the wings. He smiles at you and then takes his seat on the piano bench and you take yours by the microphone. The performance goes well.
The two of you have a fit of laughter as you both make your way to the parking lot. “I hate these heels,” you say, giggling as you take them off and go barefoot on the concrete. You let out a shriek when Aaron picks you up.
“What? You said you hate your heels, so I just gave you a solution. I can’t have my pretty little girlfriend walking barefoot in the school parking lot. Who knows what you’ll get from walking here?” He jokes, and you let more giggles escape.
“So that’s what I am, huh? Your girlfriend? And you think I’m pretty?” You ask, laughing as he pretends to think.
“Mhm, and I think you’re very pretty,” he says, chuckling at you. He tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, and pecks you on the forehead, causing you to fake swoon.
“You are the absolute worst, you know that right?” You say, mimicking his words from a while ago.
“You love me for it though,” he says, smiling at you. He puts you down when the two of you reach his car, only to open the door for you and let you in. “Where do you wanna eat?” You shrug and tell him that it didn’t matter and that he could just go through any drive-thru. After getting some fast food, the two of you headed to his house. The drive was shrouded in comfortable silence since both of you guys decided to eat in the parking lot and then drive home. The two of you agreed on having a sleepover after solo ensemble night beforehand so you two could talk about it afterwards and get food together.
Once the two of you got to his house and went through your nighttime routines, the two of you sat on his bed. “So are you sure about the whole having feelings for me too thing or…” You ask, trying to break the silence. He playfully rolls his eyes at you. “No, I just invited you to my house to spend the night because I actually hate you and want to punt you out the window while you sleep,” he says sarcastically. You laugh at his joke and embrace him. “But seriously, I do care for you. In fact, I have something to show for it.” He gets up from his spot on the bed and you follow as well, just now noticing his too short Star Wars pajama pants. He goes to his desk and you stand there awkwardly before he places a box in your hands. He notices you looking between him and the box.
“What is it?” You ask, examining the outside of the box. It was just a plain, small, shipping box - the kind you’d use for jewelry.
“Just open it,” he says, grinning and giving you his hand. You take it and let him lead you back to your spots on the bed. You open the box and find it filled with small strips of paper stapled to a larger piece.
“What is this?” You ask, smiling as you read the paper. You feel your face heat up and you feel flustered when you read the bottom panel of the box. It read: ‘songs that remind me of you and why”. “Shut up,” you say, covering your mouth with your hand. “You did not.”
“I did,” he says, laughing at your reaction. “Go through the songs.” You do, and you notice that they’re all songs that would play during the time the two of you spent together. From discussions about Laufey to trying to get him to scream Taylor swift to arguing about composers, they were all there. You gently shut the box and wrap him in the tightest hug that you could. You quickly break away to give him a peck on the lips, and he decides to deepen it. You finally pull away from him, slightly out of breath and trying to get air back into your lungs.
“When did you make this?” You ask him.
“Around when you were keeping your distance. We had this poetry assignment and I was inspired by it,” he says. “I wanted to preserve all our memories together. After all, I know that music means just as much to you as it does to me and I wanted something that would remind me of that.” You nod at his words.
“I’m glad we’re able to share that then,” you murmur. You wish that you were able to hear the rest of his words, but sleep was catching up to you and you quickly knocked out. He didn’t mind though. The two of you had so much more time to discuss these things in the future.

OC Intro: Family Edition - Part: 5 of ???
My WIP story posts are probably going to be on hold for awhile as I work on some BTS stuff, but for now, have this intro post for Theresa's (Derek's late wife's) side of the family.
From Left to Right: Theresa's mother Beth McDowell, her father Scott McDowell, her middle sister Joanne McDowell, and her eldest sister Alison McDowell.
Random facts about each character under the cut.
Beth McDowell
Beth is the organist and choir teacher at her husband's nondenominational church.
She enjoys knitting and bird watching in her free time.
She's been trying to stay open-minded about her daughters trying out new things ever since they left their old church, but she still isn't crazy about much of what Joanne and Theresa a have been doing.
She really doesn't understand what Theresa sees in Derek, and is a bit disappointed in how things have been going between them.
Scott McDowell
Scott left his old congregation after having a dispute with a few of his former friends over his beliefs on women's rights and the mistreatment of LGBTQIA+ youth in his church.
He was very surprised that so many at his church got the impression through his teachings that any sort of hatred or discrimination against women and other social minority groups was okay.
He was ousted from his position as pastor and eventually decided to leave town entirely after several acts of vandalism were committed in their house. He really tried to ignore the loud and violent minority in his church at first, but the safety of his family always came first.
He knows he still has a lot to learn and that he isn't "perfect," but he is trying his best to unlearn a lot of practices from his upbringing.
Joanne McDowell
Joanne has been thriving after transferring to her first every public school. She's really been enjoying the music lessons her school has been providing, and she likes that she can play more modern music as part of her recitals if she want to.
She's very much become a "do first, and ask for forgiveness later" type teen, which is how she got her facial piercings.
She's bisexual and may or may not have been one of the reasons her father got kicked out of their church. Oops!
Her mom is kind of starting to warm up to her girlfriend... kinda.
Alison McDowell
Alison is the oldest and is currently stuck at the all women's, Christian collage she was forced to go to in to order to keep up appearances as the "good pastor's daughter."
She's a bit jealous that her sisters are going to have more options with their schooling then she did, even though she knows how crazy things had to get back home before her dad decided to pick up and leave.
She feels a bit guilty for wishing she could have been part of the move, despite all the stress and trauma the entire ordeal has caused her family.
She's seriously thinking about transferring to a co-ed school soon, now that her parents seem to be opening up to new ideas more.

Note
the only time i got in trouble in school was when i was in 6th grade choir. we would do vocal warmups from our book and instead of me reading the book (that i just made myself sound like everybody else because i had no idea how to read music) i would put inside it a book i had from the library and read that instead.
the choir teacher caught me one time and gave me automatic detention. like she yelled at me about it to the point that it made me cry and the other students were trying to cheer me up.
x WHAT??? SHE MADE YOU CRY OVER READING??? I think she should swallow a thousand hot rocks. how could you make a kid cry like that and feel good about yourself. dumps water on her and she melts away like a witch

15 Questions, 15 Mutuals
Thanks for the tag @annwayne! ❤️
Were you named after anyone? Not really but my middle name is a family name traditional to the oldest daughter for like 4 generations back
When was the last time you cried? I dunno, 2 days ago I think? I read a really beautiful story on tumblr and teared up
Do you have kids? No.
Do you use sarcasm? Wow, what’s with this question? I mean, does anyone not use sarcasm?
What’s the first thing you notice about people? Probably their energy/intensity. I don’t know if there’s a better way to say that? I work in customer service and I’m always wary of people who come in with a certain attitude, because they always want things, and they want them now, and they want me to fix it when that’s not my job, and then they yell about it. I've been doing this awhile now so I've gotten good at knowing which people are going to be easy to help and which ones are going to be a pill just from their energy when they first come in.
What’s your eye color? I was going to say I have "eyes like the sea after a storm,” but then I was like… "what’s that from?? Oh." And I’m not Westley, so I’ll just say blue. ;b
Scary movies or happy endings? This is a false choice; these things have nothing to do with each other. A good movie should encompass a wide range of human emotions including fear and happiness. My favorite movies tend to be adventure stories with a friendship focus, like Lord of the Rings, and I do tend to prefer stories with “happy” endings. But I also adore a movie that’s just well made, like Seven Samurai or Portrait of a Lady on Fire, neither of which have “happy” endings. I will say, I don’t usually watch “scary” movies because they are usually stupid and I laugh at them and then the people who like those kind of movies get mad at me for laughing. Also life is short, why would I deliberately choose to spend my time being scared when real life is a fucking trip in itself? If that's for you, cool. I just don't get it.
Any special talents? All my talents are special. Being a smart-ass is a big one if you couldn't tell.
Where were you born? Ypsilanti. (I had to look it up because I can say it but I couldn’t spell it, and apparently the city is named after a “hero in the Greek War of Independence from the Ottoman Empire.” Which is cool to know.) I never lived there, but was born there, so... yay.
What are your hobbies? Writing mostly. I always have ideas that I’m considering, to see if they will become stories. I also like reading and watching stuff, especially to refill the creativity pool when writing has sapped it out. I enjoy “gardening” (basically me messing around in my yard, tearing up some things and planting other things that then die in the heat bc I forget to water them), and cross stitch.
Have any pets? My cat Bug. He just turned 14 last month and is affectionately known as my grumpy old man. I also foster cats for my local rescue, and I currently have a mom named Samantha and her kitten Squirt.
What sports do/have you played? Look, I deliberately signed up for band AND choir in middle school because it was the only way to get out of having to take gym class. I am not athletic and I do not like playing or watching sports. I do enjoy hiking, and always liked canoeing at my grandparents’ house when I had access to a canoe.
How tall are you? Exactly average for my demographic, which is annoying because I’m always surrounded by tall people or short people, so I feel like the odd one out either way which makes it difficult to feel “average.”
Favorite subject at school? I was one of those quiet “good” students when I was in school, who always did the work that was required and did it well, because I lived in deathly fear of attracting attention. (No reason; I just wanted people to leave me alone so I could finish whatever I was supposed to be doing as quickly as possible and then go back to my room and read books.) Favorite classes tended to depend on the teacher I had that year/for that subject and there wasn’t an overall "subject" that I remember really liking or disliking. (You'd think I'd say English, because one year our required reading was The Count of Monte Cristo, which became my favorite book ever, but we also had to read a lot of boring crappy stuff, so it balances out.)
Dream job? Honestly probably just to get paid enough to cover all my bills without having to stress about it, doing whatever. I like doing and learning different things, and helping people. I also love doing "boring" jobs. I like my job now also because I've been at this job for 10 years and I could do it in my sleep half the time which leaves more brain power open to think about story ideas. When I was younger I wanted to be an author, but I have written and had short stories published, and through that experience I’ve realized that I don’t want to get paid for writing. That would make it a job, and then I couldn’t do it for fun; it wouldn’t feel the same, and I wouldn't have the same inspiration (getting published gave me writer's block for a year). I also used to work from home with my previous job and that is not for me. I like what I do now fine, I just wish I got paid enough to actually go on vacation, or go out to eat if I wanted without having to budget for it a month in advance.
Let’s see how many mutuals I can remember (with no pressure or requirement to participate): @ladyofparchments @castleflower @darklysnarky @judgeverse @only-in-december @girlscience @mx-seraph

I need badly to talk about Ender and Alai. Like right now.
My friend and I were in the middle of choir, and we were talking about how we first read Ender’s game in seventh grade English and they were recalling everybody’s reactions to the movie cutting the kiss on the cheek out. Turns out, half of the dudebros that were in their class were crying when it was cut.
They said that them and like three of the guys they sat at a table with, were writing fanfiction, basically, after they read the part with the kiss. And I found that hilarious, because when my period class watched the movie, when there was no kiss, I looked around the room and almost EVERYONE, even the stereotypical straight dudes in MY class, had their jaws dropped to the floor. One of the guys in my class even came up to me and was like, “I feel your pain now. I hate when my gay ship is thrown aside” and then Pat me on the shoulder before walking out of the classroom.
One kid was bawling their eyes out when we all realized that they were trying to set Ender up with Petra. The few times it looked like they almost kissed, everybody yelled so loud that our teacher had to pause the movie to shut us up.
But now we’ve started a Google doc where they end up together and live HAPPY lives. We’ll have to mess with some things in the Enderverse but it’ll be okay.
Anyway, they have a playlist and everything. It’s not done yet, my friend needs to send me more songs.
I will update. This is very important.
