The Fascinating World of Psychological Facts
Tumblr media
Psychology has always fascinated me as a curious mind, being the scientific study of the mind and behaviour that encompasses a wide range of topics. In this article, I will take you on a journey through the fascinating world of psychological facts. We will explore the origins of psychology, interesting facts about the human brain, perception, emotions, and memory, and the relationship between psychology and personality. We will also debunk common myths about psychology and highlight the benefits of understanding psychological facts, such as improved self-awareness, decision-making, communication, and mental health and well-being.
Psychological facts refer to scientific discoveries and theories that have been developed to better understand the human mind and behaviour, providing us with a wealth of knowledge about how our minds work, how we perceive the world around us, and how we interact with others. Psychology has its roots in ancient Greece, but it was not until the late 1800s that psychology emerged as a distinct scientific field. Wilhelm Wundt is often credited as the father of modern psychology for establishing the first psychology laboratory in 1879, and since then, psychology has evolved into a multifaceted field with many different areas of specialization.

The human brain is a complex organ that is responsible for all of our thoughts, actions, and behaviours. It is the fattiest organ in the body, containing about 100 billion neurons, which are specialized cells that transmit information throughout the body. The brain uses about 20% of the body's energy, and the left hemisphere is responsible for logical and analytical thinking, while the right hemisphere is responsible for creativity and imagination.
Perception refers to the way we interpret and make sense of the information we receive through our senses. Our brains fill in the gaps in our perception to create a complete picture of the world around us, and our perception is influenced by our expectations, beliefs, and emotions. Emotions are a fundamental part of the human experience, and they are universal, meaning that they are experienced by people all over the world, regardless of culture or language. We are born with the ability to express basic emotions, such as happiness, sadness, anger, and fear, and emotions can be contagious, meaning that we can "catch" the emotions of others through social contagion.
Tumblr media
Memory is the ability to store and retrieve information, but our memories are not always accurate and can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as our emotions, expectations, and beliefs. Different types of memory include short-term memory, long-term memory, and working memory, and our memories are distributed throughout the brain in different regions.
Personality refers to the unique set of traits, behaviours, and patterns of thought that make up an individual, shaped by both genetic and environmental factors. Different personality traits are associated with different patterns of behaviour, and our personalities can change over time, particularly as we experience different life events and challenges.
There are many common myths about psychology that have been debunked, such as the idea that people only use 10% of their brain or that psychologists can read your mind. Therapy can be beneficial for anyone who wants to improve their mental health and well-being, not just people with mental illness.
Understanding psychological facts can have many benefits, such as improved self-awareness, decision-making, communication, and mental health and well-being. Psychology is a fascinating field that has provided us with many insights into the human mind and behaviour, and by understanding psychological facts, we can gain a better understanding of ourselves and others.

Our Cruel Inner Voice
Tumblr media
You are not good enough, you are not as good as your sibling, this thing is really tough for you, you cannot be that successful in your life as that person. This is not a cruel person who is talking to another person this is our own voice. Don’t be amuse by reading this we all talk to ourselves like this on daily basis. This is we ,we don’t show any mercy to our selves when we talk to our own self. Our inner voice is cruel and it can be challenging to deal with it . But their are some strategies that may help:
Try to recognize and acknowledge the negative self-talk: The first step is to become aware of the negative thoughts and beliefs that your inner voice is telling you. Acknowledge them and try to observe them without judgement.
Challenge your negative self-talk: Once you have identified the negative self-talk, challenge it by asking yourself if it is based on facts or on your imagination. If it is based on assumptions, try to find evidence to support or refuse those assumptions.
Reframe your negative self-talk: Reframe your negative self-talk into more positive and constructive statements. For example, instead of saying “i am so stupid to make this mistake,” say “Everyone makes mistakes, and I can learn from these mistakes.”
Practice self-love: Treat yourself with kindness, love, and understanding. You can image yourself as a friend who need help, who is going through a tough time and speak to yourself with the same love and understanding that you would offer to your friend.
Take help : You can take help of someone you trust, such as a friend, family member, or mental health professional, and share your struggles with them. Human is a social animal we need someone to talk, to open our hearts in front of someone who we know is honest to us and is dear to us. They can offer you support, guidance, and help you to develop a more positive mindset.
Remember that changing your inner voice takes time and effort, so be patient with yourself and you have to try until it become your habit.
