💜🐺🌙 Freaky, Fierce, and Fabulous!🌙🐺💜

2 months overdue, but I finally finished my Clawdeen cosplay project!

Every year since about 2018, I go to Spirit Halloween and try to find something that I can use to test my costuming/makeup skills and create a stage/contest worthy costume or makeup

Last year, I wanted to fix up their new Monster High costumes and chose Clawdeen as she was the most derivative of the box art. I got most of the alterations done in August, but then got extremely busy with school which took up a lot of time and mental energy.

I also just recently picked up shoemaking, and spent a LONG time making and remaking patterns as I DESPISED that they made Clawdeen’s boots legs warmers instead of shoe covers (and I figured a shoe without a toe puff or heel counter would be a good place to start)

Anyway, despite these hang ups, I decided not to give up on this and knew I could knock it out during winter break, and she’s finally here! 💜

Nanami golf shoes! Made of soft faux leather! I used Kakyoin's loafers pattern as a base and modified them to have the white accents. I used the Utena musicals as inspiration for the style.

They fit over my comfy Clarks heels. The laces are real to make it easy to get my foot in the shoe.

I was debating about whether or not I wanted to share these because they're not fully finished, and they're not proper shoes in the sense you can wear them outside; but eh you only live once.

So here's the pointed toe cosplay shoes I made today. They're missing a strap, and finishing details, but they're wearable.

I'll probably end up putting a worbla toe cap on them for decorative detail, and I *might* also add a wing on each side depending on how the toe caps go.

Made some shoes for a cosplay project that’s 2 (almost 3!) months overdue 🥲

These are my first pair of shoes I’ve made by hand since discovering/ picking up the skill way back in May 💜💜💜

They’re pretty comfortable for the most part and mostly came out the way I wanted. The only thing I wish I’d done better were the outsoles, but I sculpted those by hand with EVA foam, a dremel, crafting knife and sandpaper so 🤷🏾‍♀️

[MATERIALS]

Uppers are a Faux Stretch Patent Leather

Lining is a Spandex Jersey

Interfaced with Cotton Canvas on the vamp and a knit interfacing on all the stretch fabrics

Insole is Texon Board wrapped in the jersey with a steel shank and cork sheet to fill the gaps

Outsole is 6mm EVA-70 + 2mm Hard-Lite EVA foam painted with acrylics

Sock liner is 1mm Form-Lite EVA foam + Cork sheeting wrapped in Polyester Satin

Embellishments are 4mm EVA foam wrapped in the jersey and Gold beading glued to 2mm Hard-Lite EVA foam and cut to shape
