the thing that I love about The Moon Will Sing is that it completely subverts the moon and sun trope, but in a completely believable way that, in my opinion, suits the trope way better.

the moon and sun are in no way equals. the moon is given everything it owns by the sun, and it can be taken away just as quickly. like the lyrics say, 'bore the shadows that you gave with no light of my own.' the moon literally shines only with the light given by the sun.

in this song, the moon and sun are used to depict a toxic relationship rather than a healthy one, the singer being in the moon's position, feeling that their love for someone consumed their own sense of self.

i love that the crane wives don't use the trope as it often is, and instead uses it to fit their own narrative. it's genius writing.

I love that moment when you are listening to an album and it’s doing basically nothing for you. Then like ¾ of the way through the album you hear a song that slaps so hard and suddenly you are just in the music, so you go back and listening to album again and turns out it’s amazing! You just weren’t really listening to the music at the time.
