Oops, I went on a doodle spree, so have some more of the Werewolf and Ghost AU @jenasu and I made with the Choiceshipping nerds.

They’re all just so lonely in this AU, it doesn’t take them very long before they catch feelings.

More context under the cut:

Jun’s father sends him out to a place in the quiet countryside, nominally to oversee their new mining operation there, but really just to get him out of the way, since he’s considered the useless black sheep of the family. Bitter and angry, Jun tries to look for a way to break off and start up his own less shady business, but it’s difficult when his family’s such a powerful zaibatsu.

Meanwhile, the mansion he’s just moved into is haunted by Asuka - a ghost who’s forgotten how she died, and even most of her memories. She protects her home by scaring away both villagers and other rich assholes who attempt to move in (it helps she can shift her appearance to look scarier, showing off the wound that supposedly killed her). Because of that the mansion’s grown a pretty scary reputation, and no one can live there for long. She realizes pretty quickly that Jun’s different from the others though, and they end up living together as strange roommates.

(Jun gets used to living with a ghost for the most part, but occasionally she’ll catch him off guard when she floats through walls)

The mansion’s also frequented by Judai, the son of a local blacksmith. One night, he suddenly transformed into a werewolf, and now anytime it happens, he goes to the mansion to hide. Having been chased by the villagers during his first transformation, Asuka had scared them off, and now provides a safe haven for him. He’s kept this a secret even from his best friend Shou and his father (his mother having disappeared some years ago).

Jun also just kind of... accepts that there’s a werewolf visiting his house, I mean, he’s already living with a ghost right, is it that much weirder? And he acts more like a giant puppy than a werewolf, really.

Anyway they’re all super lonely and quickly end up falling in love with each other, which is extra bittersweet when it comes to Asuka, and it kills us

First fic: "Start of the Dance" is the first one I posted on A03. Before that I was happily posting away in the Criminal Minds and Castle fandom on ff.net for ages - back before I even discovered Tumblr! Krystal though, convinced me to go over to A03 and create an account, largely to join the first-ever @cssns event, so I did. This one was one of my earliest CS one shots, and it ended up getting posted even before I posted the event fic I created the account for. I wrote a LOT of fic at the end of season three/ahead of season four, and this was one of my favorites from that span of time.

Last fic: I can almost guarantee it won't be literally my "last" fic, but the current last fic on my A03 dashboard is "Carolina Moon" my Nora Roberts inspired AU from the 2023 @cssns. It's still ongoing, and I promise more is coming soon! I'm not purposefully leaving you waiting.

Only Once: So, I discovered when I went to answer this one that most of the ships or fandoms I only wrote for once stayed over on my ff.net profile. The best I can do with one that has transferred over to AO3 is my @cssns18 one shot "Tasting Forever". This fic is still one of my favorites and has gotten more reviews and comments than almost anything else I've ever posted. It leans very heavily on the plot and characters of another show called Moonlight, and I seriously put Killian, Emma, and the other OuaT characters into the roles from that show, then made my own spin on the idea. I do have one other Moonlight fic, but apparently, I have never migrated it over to A03. It's called "Forever Waiting" - and I would love to have you read it - but you'll have to read it on ff.net until I make that correction! I also have a little one shot from the LotR fandom. (Not that I would ever think to change or tinker with Tolkien, but it's a little moment he didn't write between Merry and Eomer, at Theoden's graveside.) You can find it here "Simbelmyne" - clearly I still need to move all the older stuff to A03.

Favorite fic for the fandom I've written in most: That is a REALLY hard question, Krystal!! What are you doing to me?!?Okay, for reals, I will try.... (Well, I've got a top three - for now - at least)

I've always been partial to this one shot written between 3a and 3b (I even managed to squeeze Graham into it: "Ghost of Christmases Past" I am really proud of this short MC that I set in the Victorian time period and tried to make darker and more mysterious than my usual story. It was originally for the @csrolereversal fic and art event, and I had so much fun working on it, and surprising my usual readers with its tone/vibe: "The Case of the Heart in Armor" And I still love my werewolf AU MC I wrote for the first @cssns Many people have done much better and more amazing werewolf fics since, but I had wanted to try it for ages, I had some much fun doing it, and it still is a favorite for me: "Run to Me (in the Dead of Night)"

The fic I wish more people read: I am so grateful for any kudos or comment I get, but I have always wanted these to one shots to get more views and comments: "Moonlit Ghosts" and "Got My Angel Now" And I was always particularly proud of my short MC "Villain's Happy Ending" and want to tell more people to check it out and let me know what they think of it. Lastly, though I know the main pairing is Liam x Belle and so it probably never will, I always want to have people read "Looking for a Heart (that's not Walking Away)" I loved letting characters like Belle and Henry really shine, and exploring more of what Liam would have been like if we saw more of him. I loved writing it and was really proud of how it turned out, but I don't know that many people have read it.

The fic I agonized over the most: Sheesh, that's a hard one. The sensible answer would probably be my last year's @cssns22 fic "Believing Impossible Things" (since it still isn't done - I really do apologize!) But probably any of the ones where I attempted real love scenes (smut) in them. That tends to make me more than a bit anxious and to worry over each little sentence and word.

I also agonized a lot over my Music Man AU "Foot Caught in the Door (This Time)" for @captainswanmoviemarathon (Probably why it still only has one chapter ;p ) People were so kind and generous in their feedback and excitement for it, but I psyched myself out, because I love the musical so much and worry about doing it justice!

The fic that sprang fully formed from my mind without any effort: I can't really say that this ever happens for me. Not the whole fic, completely formed. Usually a certain scene comes to me - and it might be very vivid and complete - but then I have to come up with the rest of the story where it belongs!

A fic that I'm proud of, for whatever reason: 😘 It was hard to think of something that I hadn't already mentioned above, but I am quite proud of my one shot collection "Of Swans and Swords and Hopeful Hearts" - now 50 some stories strong. It's a good compendium of the sort of stories I write, the show arcs I most love, and the characters I really like to give a little more missing moments. A lot of those stories did just what I set out for them to do, and they take me back to that particular phase of the show, watching for the first time, and what I was feeling and wondering.

Well, since I'm currently back on fixating on OUAT/Captain Swan, I've got some CS ideas floating around in my brain... One I kinda already outlined here and then I've had a niggling idea of a Modern/Mermaid AU (scientist breaking out a captive mermaid is somehow calling out to me, I dunno)

The beginning of the next chapter of "This Is Not Over, But Just the Beginning":

Chris Hackett led Laura to a hidden room inside the lodge that could only be accessed through a closet in his quarters. (At this point, there was no denying that this guy was related to Travis — what was it with the Hacketts and their ridiculous, over-the-top attempts at secrecy?!?) The cramped hideaway into which the camp leader owner ushered Laura only contained a cluttered desk and chair, a pinboard that had a few notes and photographs attached to it and a few filing cabinets. “There you go,” Chris Hackett said, his eyes scanning the room, “you should be safe here.” Laura wasn’t exactly convinced that their definitions of ‘safe’ were exactly the same, but she guessed that “creepy-ass hick-bunker” was about as safe as she could get in Werewolf Territory™️.  “Sure.”

And an excerpt of a Batman/Bruce Wayne birthday story I've been working for quite some time and I really love how this particular segment turned out (even if it made me cry while I was writing it):

Once his bedroom door had clicked shut and the sound of Alfred’s receding footsteps had made it clear that he was alone, Bruce poked his head out of his blanket cocoon. The now nine-year-old boy rubbed his red-rimmed eyes warily before his gaze landed on the breakfast tray on his bedside table. In the center of the tray, the customary cupcake with its lit candle drew Bruce’s attention. With empty eyes the boy observed droplets of wax making their way down the small striped candle, prevented from spilling onto the immaculate frosting only by a small plastic candle holder. It didn’t take long until the candle holder was completely caked in wax, each new droplet more likely than the next to finally run over and mar Bruce’s perfect birthday cupcake.  Bruce’s gaze flicked towards the dancing flame; to prevent this tarnish, he’d only have to blow out the candle and make a wish -- No. There was only one thing Bruce wished for, with all his heart, and this wish, he knew, could never come true. The expression on the young boy’s face hardened. Determinedly, he turned around, his back now to the cupcake and candle as he settled back into his blankets. It wasn’t long until the smell of a snuffed-out candle reached Bruce’s nose. ‘Good,’ the boy thought grimly. There was nothing happy about this birthday anyway.

Puppy Eyes and Doll Eyes: The Complete, Short "Assassin AU" Comic (EEnE)

First, disclaimers: we all know Ed Edd n' Eddy doesn't belong to me, and the "Assassin AU" of the series is by "C2ndy2c1d". For more about the overall comic and my thoughts, click the "read more" below. Hopefully, this sample of my comic-related works sparks interest in a potential audience for more, both of original and fan-based content.

Finally, got it finished! Boy, talk about having a "funny way of showing it," when it comes to any feelings of endearment, huh? Let's just say, "It's complicated..." isn't just for romantic relations. Also, I hope you got your fill of Claire retaining her usual wolfishness there, as she's going to be a normal human in the actual fan comic series. As I've said before, the concept of "werebeasts" can be an interesting idea for an assassin-based series, just not for the world of EEnE-- "alternate universe" or not.

I admit that it'll be jarring, but I can still replicate Claire's wolf nature via her assassin theme: "Herr Wolf," which involves her dressing similarly to the common werewolf portrayal. If you're wondering why she's using "Herr" in that title, and not the more appropriate German addressment of "Frau," it's both for similar sound to the mythical monster and for the masculine nature of her outfit's appearance. Plus, wolves are generally associated with masculinity. As for when she's OUT of costume, she'll be wearing a little wolf-hoodie that has both ears and a tail. It'd be perfect, as constantly having the hood over her head would also portray her timid/shy demeanor. Besides, Sarah and Jimmy would probably find their apprentice cuter with her hood on and ears hanging about, so there's that.

Oh yeah, hope you grew to like the idea of Claire being with Sarah and Jimmy up there, as she'll be with them instead. Don't worry, they'll take good care of her; but that doesn't mean they can't have some fun with her, every now and again~. What's all this about apprentices and stuff? This post is your answer, in regards to the upcoming fan comic series. Of course, keep in mind that I also do more ORIGINAL series, so it's not like I'll dedicate every moment of "creative time" to that.

Back to the page itself, I really wish I could've figured out a way to make the colorless outlines match how I envisioned: a tad on the fancier side, but I definitely like the surrounding "oil paint" texture that CS-Art offered. At the very least, I find the "End" text very pretty and satisfyingly done: simple, yet nicely calligraphic. Then again, that IS the form of "pen" I selected, when writing it. Can you believe I also had trouble drawing in a more "chibi" style? Yeah, that's some irony right there: I can easily draw the more "professional" forms of characters, but it's drawing them in smaller/simpler forms that "hard mode" is activated... Eh, practice makes perfect, ja?

I also notice I forgot to add the little chick feet, on the back of Ed's magazine; but let's be honest, it's not really THAT big of a deal. It also looks a little better without the busy back cover, I'd say? As for Sarah's face, in regards to visible angels of things, she's grinning under her mask. Unfortunately, it covers the left side of her face; and she and Jimmy are heading to the RIGHT, therefore their LEFT sides will be toward the audience, in that perspective.

Anyway, I think I've finally figured how to go about comics, thanks to this little and fun fan one-- both to the actual EEnE series, and C2ndy2C1d's awesome AU concept. Seriously, Sarah and Jimmy may scare me to heck and back, as this version of their characters, but I'd be lying if I claimed they (and the other characters) weren't cool. Yep, from now on, it's gonna be: traditional panels (with less being more), handwritten lettering, a colored background for space outside the panels, and somewhat text-fitting bubbles that overlay the panels. Welp, hope you all look forward to future comic works by me, as I've finally found my niche!

Captain Swan Supernatural Summer: Art for Face to Face in the Broad Daylight

This is the banner I created for @snowbellewells for her latest story, Face to Face in the Broad Daylight. This a sequel to he CSSNS story from last year.

This was so much fun to make, but also challenging. Its really hard to find pictures of Graham smiling! I'm really happy with the result, though. I love the pairing of Graham and Belle. If you haven't read her story, I highly recommend checking it out and giving her some love!
