Oh boy I can’t sleep so here’s some Cyberpunk Relationship Headcanons!

Kerry x Male!V

-Kerry genuinely sung the ‘I love you, bitch. I’ll never stop loving you, bitch’ song to V on their three month anniversary, complete with the guitar. V had no idea what to say, and didn’t understand the reference.

-Kerry sleeps starfish style and with his mouth open. V has had to close his mouth because he drools in the night.

-Kerry swore he would never have an animal in his mansion before Nibbles came to be. After he met nibbles, Kerry bought him a throne style cat bed.

-Kerry doesn’t understand that not every kiss has to be with tongue. V has genuinely bitten his tongue because he just wanted a quick smooch before a gig.

Panam x Male! V

-Panam is allergic to pollen, but due to being in the badlands, she never knew until V brought her organic flowers. She sneezed for a week straight before realizing.

-V and Panam like racing, but V is terrible at driving. He once accidentally crashed her car into a pile of cacti.

-V and Saul sometimes have family dinner together, and Saul asks really personal questions about the relationship every time. (Example: ‘sooo…have you two screwed yet?’)

-when V can’t sleep, Panam takes him out to look at the stars. The first time she did, he cried, since he’d never seen them before due to the city lights.

….”if we don’t fix this chip thing, V, I’ll be looking up at those. You’ll be the prettiest star out there.”

Judy x Fem! V

-Judy loves telling V about her ocean and fish hyperfixation. Sometimes, she wishes she could afford to go to a real aquarium. V swears if she gets the money, she’ll take her on a date there.

-Judy and V have made braindances before, all to be kept in Judy’s “private folder.”

-V doesn’t understand why Judy is so emotional sometimes, but she’ll awkwardly hug her or kiss her when she starts crying.

-Judy’s favorite movie to watch with V is Ponyo. Judy knows the song by heart and sings it during the credits.

River x Fem! V

-Both River and V really want the other to quit their jobs, so sometimes they jokingly leave resignation papers on each other’s desks. V doesn’t really have a ‘boss,’ so River just leaves a sticky note that says “quit.”

-River really likes iguanas, so when V hatched hers, he cuddled with it more than her for a week straight. V had to deal with it being in between them in bed.

-Joss and V talk a lot, to the point where V will show up at his house just to completely ignore him and talk to his sister. River just ends up standing behind them awkwardly.

-River does the ‘broke boyfriend stance’ every time they’re in a store. Johnny makes fun of him for it.

-River and V are really cuddly, to the point River can’t fall asleep correctly without her beside them.

Bonus!!!! Johnny x GN! V

-Johnny has tried to convince V to kiss the mirror to see if it feels like an actual kiss. (It doesn’t.)

-V has a habit of telling Johnny ‘I love you’ out loud. They said it in front of Hanako right before the relic malfunction, and Hanako looked at them and said

“Uhm…thank…you…?”

-V eventually figures out how to get Johnny a new body and repair the chip. (In my heart I’m delusional.) Once they did, they didn’t let go of each other for weeks. They had the worst honeymoon phase.

-Johnny excessively jokes about soul killer. V does not find it amusing.

Bonus Bonus!!!! Takemura x GN! V

-Takemura cooks most of their meals after V revealed they mainly eat frozen tv dinners instead of real food. He’s Also really insistent that they drink water and shower.

-Takemura once brutally cried after seeing the full effects of the Relic Malfunctions, comparing it to when his Arasaka implants got revoked.

-Takemura didn’t know how to hug someone, so he accidentally nearly choked V.

-he also didn’t know how to kiss, so he just…opened his mouth.

-Takemura doesn’t understand sarcasm, so he takes whatever V says to its fullest meaning.

So I've talked about my nomad werewolf headcanons before (I'm not at home so I'll try to find the post and link to it later)

But my version of werewolf nomads have a lot of wolf and dog-like behavioral traits, especially when it comes to pack bonding, familial structure, and child rearing. And I got thinking about it more, how the nomad lifestyle plays into their werewolf traits. On top of it lending itself well to their social structures and pack tendencies, I also realized their infrastructure fits pretty well, too.

They live in tents, small RVs, trunks of vehicles gutted out to make room to sleep. Very den like structures, made into their homes and safe spaces. They move as packs, on foot and in vehicles, one or two to a car or bike but all moving as one. A few here and there running ahead to scout out the area, check for danger or for prey.

I just- I love nomad clans being gathering places of werewolves, I love thinking about how the two cultures mesh and build off each other.

Random Yorinobu headcanons that no one but me asked for

(these are just my personal interpretations of his character, if you disagree that’s fine just don't be a dick about it!)

Lactose intolerant, but chooses to ignore it and chugs down milk products like there’s no tomorrow (and then complains about his tummy hurting.)

Has ink from his gangoon days, mostly irezumi sleeves on both arms. Although they pay tribute to his loved ones (I imagine he has a flower somewhere for Hanako and a dragon for his gang), they were partly done to piss off Saburo and to be ~edgy~, because the old man had (and probably still has) the old school "tattoo = criminal" mentality.

Judging by that picture of him as a little child, he probably had some sort of (hereditary) vision problems since he was a kid, but as he grew up into a teenager, he only wore contacts because he didn’t want to look like a dork. However, he eventually ditched them for his glasses out of comfort.

A huge car and bike enthusiast, and not only in a “rich guy who brags about having 50 Bugattis” type of way. He’s genuinely interested in vehicles and how they work, and learnt how to fix and customize them during his time in the Steel Dragons. Nowadays, he’s too busy to spend all of his time tinkering with bikes, but that doesn’t stop him from still appreciating the hobby.

Has a sort of messed up relationship with his physical appearance, but not due to low self esteem or whatever (although he’s probably struggled with that too). Yorinobu is basically his father’s twin, and knowing how bad their relationship is and that Saburo probably sort of abused him emotionally and mentally, it must have taken a toll to look like the man he comes to despise.

Tabloid darling. Not only did he feed them with his departure and feud with his father and brother, but even after Yori came back and was supposedly welcomed into the company, he didn't stop being a PR nightmare for their publicists, from a few DUI incidents to a messy breakup with the daughter of some Biotechnica board member, among other disasters.

In a similar vein as the last headcanon, at one point there must have been plans for a Real Housewives-style reality about the inner workings and personal lives of the Arasakas and their inner circles, with Yorinobu being really on board with it. However, the show was cancelled after its producers and director were mysteriously found dead, with their passings officially ruled as a suicide.

While probably having had a sheltered upbringing, according to lore he was allowed to study in outside schools. I don't think that he was a huge sports fan, but he did take a liking to soccer/football and also took up kyudo since Saburo wanted him to do something more traditional.

This one is ~ personal ~ but he's probably on the autism spectrum and actually struggled a lot with it, even more than the usual given how rigid the environment he grew up and spent part of his youth was. He likely only got diagnosed when he was way older and didn't even know that it was a possibility.

HEADCANONS FOR CYBERPUNK CHARACTERS

What would they impulse buy at the grocery store?

Jackie Wells-

This man lives on take out and his mother cooking alone. Other then then one time Misty drag him a vagen shop he never been to a grocery store in his adult life.

Misty-

Twizzlers are her impulse buys. She goes in and tells her she won't get them but by the time she at the check out their in her cart.

Rouge-

Oreos. She has someone do her shopping for her and one time they got her oreos instead of her werid sugar-free cookie and ever since then she be hooked.

Kerry-

He as a person to do all his shopping and cooking now but when he was younger is was the Reeses Pieces and Chocolate milk. He's snack/comfort food favorite thing.

Goro-

THIS man is a food snob. So much in fact that it's hard to believe hes from the slums. But nonetheless hes overheard someone's conversation about the matcha pocky. He know what it is but never tried them before. And the person had glowing reviews on and he see it as he shopping, he buys it. Not surpising he hates it and glare at the person the next day. (Now that person has no idea why Goro is glaring at them and is terrified.)

Johnny-

Much like Jackie, Johnny doesn't go grocery shop, he lives off Kerry most days or whoever his output is at the moment. Of couse he would chip in (haha im do funny) money wise. But once he is in V's head, he bugs them about buying Cheetos. While he can't taste in fully, he still enjoys it but he won't say that out loud.

Tiny little headcanon thing today re: Corpo V's employee ID number.

Like, it can't just be me but: that does look like a date format, right? 77-04-16. Obviously, in this context, it's not. It's a more or less random number V got assigned as they signed their contract, based on whatever Arasaka-internal specifics apply for this. But, on a meta level, knowing how much foreshadowing of future events there is throughout the entire game, I feel like as the writer here I'd specifically choose that number combination for a reason.

So, as far as I know, the lifepath quests take place in Nov/Dec 2076. What's 6 months later, after the buddy merc montage with Jackie? April/May 2077, depending on how you count and where you start. So, for me personally I've decided, if Vince gets sacked some time in early to mid November 2076, six months later it's April. And it only just happens to be that the Konpeki Plaza Heist is on April 16th 2077, or 77-04-16. Bet he goes into that with a really good gut feeling overall :D I'm just a big sucker for all those little coincidences and strokes of fate in his story, and I feel like the more I look, the more I'll find things in the game I can interpret to fit this narrative. I'm loving every second of it.

I don't think I need to start these headcanons off by stating that Johnny puts on a 'tough guy' act, but here's a reminder.

He puts on a tough guy act.

I mean, Johnny is the type of guy to start on a man just for gawking at you. "Keep your eyes to yourself!" he'll bark before throwing a punch, which always leads to him getting his ass kicked, and you having to apologise to everyone as you (literally) drag him away.

But after the battle, Johnny will milk his injuries, and takes pleasure in lounging in your lap as you tend to his bruising eye.

"Did you see how hard I hit him, babe? Poor sucker hit the ground so hard!" blahblahblah, all whilst he's cooped up in your lap, one hand resting on his chest, whilst the other swirls his whiskey around in its tumbler.

Johnny's love language is a mix between quality time, and physical touch.

He's a little physically needy, but not always in public. His hand will almost always be around your waist, chest puffed out, scowling at any guy who considers laying an eye on you, but the second that you're behind closed doors, Johnny will want to snuggle up to you.

Play with his hair, coo and soothe him, hold him close in your arms; that man is touch starved.

Everything you give to him will be returned tenfold, only he has to keep the cold-hearted, tough guy image up for others. But don't worry! You're his angel, and he'd never do anything to hurt you.

Engram Johnny

Johnny can't exactly touch you, so words of affirmation and quality time are his love languages.

It's not rare to see you sitting alone in a shabby diner, but in your head, Johnny is with you, and you two are having the time of your lives.

Johnny is essentially your conscience, and he's not shy when it comes to adding his two cents.

In some ways, you're thankful that he's always there. He does his best at keeping you safe, pointing out sketchy guys, reminding you how many bullets you have left, doing anything and everything to keep you moving forward.

However, Johnny will also say the most inappropriate things to you at the worst times possible.

Out on a mission? Here's Johnny listing off all the things that he'd do to you, if he could.

And no amount of ignoring him will work. He's going to continue riling you up, and when you finally bite, he'll vanish.

Johnny likes to try and always be in your line of sight, such as lounging about on your desk chair whilst you clean all your weapons, or lying beside you whenever you get into bed.

He will do anything and everything to be by your side, and remind you of how thankful he is that he ended up in your head.

Stumbled upon a Reddit thread (don't ask) where people still whine and bitch about having to pick the "Nah, fucked that up too," dialogue option at the Oil fields to have a good relationship with Johnny. Saying that it needs to get fixed, calling it 'antagonizing' him, further proving that they don't understand him or his friendship with V at all. Sorry, but what's still not clicking? Holding him accountable for what he did and being honest with him is the only way you can have a good relationship with him for a reason.

It's not scolding him, it's not being mean, it's just V telling him 'No, what you did hurt me and I can't trust you anymore.' And he needs that, he needs someone who won't let him get away with the shit he does, he needs someone who is honest with him and won't just agree with everything he says so that he can grow and change. He knows he royally messed up, but he needs to hear that from V too. How do you expect V to have a true friendship with him if they just let him walk all over them and act like he did nothing wrong and everything's fine?

And it makes sense that the devs chose this as the secret ending unlocker because you can't have them storm Arasaka Tower together in full synergy when some parts of them are still at odds with each other.

Listen, I love Johnny as much as we all do here, but he needs to be called out when he messes up, and that's that.

The fact that River is an ex cop and banging V, a legitimate criminal (despite her denial), has got to give him a most delicious high. It's taboo, it's wrong, and goes against his "holier than thou" super cop persona. He hates how it makes him feel inside sometimes, but his love for her runs deeper than he can put into words.

Omg I forgot I had a tumblr, BUT, I have some new headcanons

Cyberpunk 2077 Characters see that V has gone full CyberPsycho (Non love-interest characters)

Johnny:

He shares a body with V, so if their brain is collapsing, his is too.

He’s scared, that’s for sure. He kept trying to tell V to not install so much, to take it slow, but they didn’t listen. He always swore to himself that nothing would scare him, but this is something different.

When he sees maxtac roll in, he doesn’t know whether to be even more scared or relieved. All he knows is that maxtac doesn’t take prisoners, and he’s about to experience his final moments in a cyberpsychos body.

He feels all of their pain, he feels their fear, he feels the impulse to hurt people. Yet for all he’s done in his life, he’s never wanted to do anything like this

Takemura

He’s been waiting impatiently at the Arasaka compound with Hanako, undeniably angry at the fact that V didn’t show for the meeting at Embers.

Hanako called him into the room when she saw the news, sitting him down and turning back on the tv.

He was in shock and horror, wondering why V did all this. He never thought that someone like them, despite how unmannered and rowdy they were, would let this happen.

He takes in a huff of air when he sees the maxtac AV roll in on the news. He knows that V is about to die, no doubt about it.

Takemura isn’t sure what that pang in his heart is, but maybe it’s because this is the first time he’s ever lost a friend so close to him.

Victor Vektor

Misty was the one who told him. She brought down the cat from upstairs just to lock down his shop and turn his TV over towards the news.

He regretted ever installing their first cyberdeck, regretted ever giving them those kiroshi optics. He felt like it was his fault.

Victor wishes he could go over there, try to talk sense into them, try to cure whatever was going on. But he was just a ripper, he knew that, and there was no way he could fix a cyberpsycho.

When maxtac came in, he shut off the tv, going over to his couch and putting his head in his hands. He cried that day, harder than he ever had.

Misty

She already lost Jackie, and now she’s losing V, too.

V, other than Victor, was really her only other close friend. She didn’t really have anyone outside of them, the ripper, and Jackie. Now, she was sure that Victor was going to be the only one left.

She heard the commotion outside, hearing someone screaming about a cyberpsycho in city center. It wasn’t long after the news pinged on her holo to get inside and lock up. V’s face was right on the wanted poster.

She tried to comfort Victor, but she couldn’t really do anything. She felt just as much pain as him, and only wished that this never happened

Rogue

She tried to blame Johnny. She tried to blame the chip, tried to blame literally anything she could.

Rogue called Regina, and although the other fixer promised that she’d try to send someone over there, Rogue didn’t have all too much hope.

She was the one who informed all the other Fixers about what had happened to one of their top Mercs. She was the one who sent someone to get Nibbles safely out of V’s apartment.
