However, as the woman turns around, it becomes apparent that a large patch of her skin is missing and beneath the white-ish plastic chassis of an android is clearly visible.

Turns out it is a BL100 “Julia”, modeled after the wife of the entomologist Mortimer Goth, a man as obscure as his partner is revered by the public. Marketed as the “perfect partners”, BL100 androids, unlike sex worker androids, are usually genuinely cherished by their humans.

“Well, yes, I was!” the Julia android - she refuses to any longer use the name her owner gave her - spats at Chloe’s remark. “Until the sucker’s wife returned from her business trip! Turned out he switched me off and hid me in the attic whenever she was home and I never knew! And then the bitch went at me with her polished nails, as if I’d decided to get bought by her hubby. I’m so through with them both!”

This isn’t how BL100s are supposed to talk in Chloe’s book. Even more than their own misery, seeing another android model veer from its product specifications burns the fact that they have changed into Chloe’s and Jake’s mind. And although they are capable of experiencing emotions now, they do not know how to feel about this...

I didn't know if I should reblog or ask so you can ignore me if you want. I'm feeling like talking and brainstorming recently so! I finished DBH like a year ago and recently read a couple of fics in the fandom that make me remember the love I have for Connor, you know. He was my favorite part of the game, in my honest opinion. And so Hannibal is a show I love so I'm always talking about it LOL. So Hannibal x DBH, hell yes. Actually, I was thinking about Murder Husbands after androids going deviant became public. If Will is the android, then I imagine Hannibal being interested to see if that deviancy is true and to what extreme it can go. (I imagine Will in this situation becoming deviant at some point but ignoring it, hiding it or just being careful to not reach the extreme were Hannibal would want to get rid of him, if it is a hostage kind of situation). BUT if Hannibal is the android that is just plain horror. Imagine him being the proof of people's fears (even though I doubt he'd go public beyond him being an android, if so. I can imagine him pretending to be a human serial killer, imitating what could have been done to Misha, who could have been his charge if he was a caretaker! OMG. He deviated to protect her but it was too late! A little girl with absent or neglectful parents that only had him and named him her brother, her family. She gave him love.) I'm trying to write what I imagine but my brain is going to fast LMAO I'm a failure. I'll just throw ideas. Like Will being in his usual situation and probably the only aware of something strange going on with the famous killer; probably knows he's not human (but not knowing if that means machine or a monster of flesh and blood) or sees such humanity in their art to even think about androids. Or Hannibal being the android asigned to Bella when the cancer is discovered and just having him being around Jack like that is hilarious. The serial killer that has him running up the walls is in his home, making soup and taking care of his wife. Or both of them could be humans and someone else is an android. Or both of them are androids! All the choices. All good ones!

Personally I like the idea of Hannibal being Will's android psychiatrist who is also very much a serial killer. Maybe he can't be a cannibal himself, but he can make everyone else cannibals! Also, Will becoming increasingly suspicious of his totally not deviant or murderous therapist, yes?

i was talking about the similarities of the twilight fandom to the dbh fandom to my friend today and i think that'd be something very interesting to write meta on 🤔

as Someone who has Studied Fanfiction (ooo how fancy) i think the comparisons are very compelling and thought provoking especially in relation to how a fandom goes about transforming a work perhaps deemed inadequate

i mean obvi twilight and dbh are both different in their own right (one being a literary work and the other a video game) but both are/were received somewhat similarly aka big love vs vehemently hating it

but what's really cool is the fact that both works have the basis of a good story but then get lost with overall bad execution and the fans of such recognize it and actively work at bettering it sometimes to the point of disregarding the source material altogether (ie 50 shades)

i just find it so cool that despite the sub-par (and sometimes shitty) writing of both works, fans have found new transformative ways to engage with the initial canon, most of the time improving or expanding upon what already exists

like for instance, ive read meta on twilight that read the story almost as a greek tragedy from the perspective of bella's father, watching her slow and steady descent from personhood into a monstrous shadow of her former self (i can't find the link ^^; )

OR the dbh fic Access Violation (https://archiveofourown.org/works/15931679/chapters/37146398 …) which takes upon itself the task of essentially finely rewriting all of the dang video game in order to provide more growth and depth for the main protagonists

these works (and many others) just go to show that it truly is the passion of the fan that drives the creation and continuation of such fandoms, especially when the fandoms are faced with the reality that their canon is less than perfect

Short stories, novels, or poems? I write a lot of short scenes, but I prefer reading novels as well as writing them. It’s so fun to see how your character grows and changes, how they develop, and how things you thought would happen don’t, or happen in a way different from what you imagined. It’s wonderful, though difficult. (Constantly I have to ask myself have I used this turn of phrase in the story before?)

What genre do you prefer reading? Looking at the books that caught my interest of late, (and in general) the stuff I read has some sort of family dynamic present. More often than not, there’s also a love story. Typically my favorite books are sagas that take place over different generations. (thorn birds one of them, and when I was younger and read a lot of Sidney Sheldon, one of my favorites of his was Master of the game, which took place over fifty years of family. my older self though now really likes Rage of Angels...I would love to like modernize that story...) My dream is to write a long family saga one day.

What genre do you prefer writing? there’s no contest: Romance. I was once very adamant about not using that word due to the stigma behind the romance genre, very keen on...a story about two people who happen to be in love! But you know..it’s romance. I’m just endlessly fascinated by the different ways people can fall in love, and how their love manifests and effects others. 

Are you a planner or a write-as-I-go kind of person? Hmmmm.....a little of both. With Our Immortal longings I made an outline of events, but things changed, shifted around, or flat out didn’t happen. Back in the day I was very strict on following the outline I wrote, but now I’ve finally found the happy medium of following it but understanding the story is going in a different direction. I think one of the reasons my modern AU is stagnant right now is because I didn’t make an outline.

What music do you listen to while writing? Usually I don’t. However, there are a few scenes I have written throughout my resume where there was a song I replayed over and over again, because it just fit the mood. So now when I listen to one of those songs, all I can think about is the scene. :)

Fave books/movies? Hmmm I have books that have meant a lot to me over the years. East by Edith Pattou (which now has a sequel. Like..wha?) The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCoullogh, Phantom by Susan Kay. I also love so many plays. Of course Shakespeare, but also Anton Chekhov. 

Movies: Howl’s Moving Castle is arguably my biggest inspiration. And when I watched gone with the wind when I was 12 I swear it changed me. I wasn’t used to seeing female characters being so unapologetic, and while I certainly don’t idolize Scarlett O’hara, I find her endlessly interesting as a character. Some other favorites are The Sound of Music, That Hamilton Woman, Wuthering Heights(1939), Bridesmaids. And I saw the new A Star is Born and it’s on my eternal favorites list.

Any current WIPs? My DBH fic has become my main focus, Our Immortal Longings. (Which I would really love to shorten to Immortal Longings but hey what can you do.) I also have a post blight fic with cullen, that details the relationship he develops with one of the chantry sisters. I also have a modern AU with Cullen and Lydia. I like the fic in theory, and I was experimenting away from the romantic feel of my previous work to something blunter and more realistic (for lack of a better word.) But I just feel for Connor’s character when I played DBH, and I really wanted to tackle how he would deal with falling in love. In the process I seriously became enamored with my own OC and the dynamic she has with him. Odd because I was never interested in robots or stories about robots before...but now...well....look at all the possibilities! 

also I had a MGIT story about a Shakespearean actress. I’m sorry to those who liked the story, but I’m not going to continue with it.

If someone were to make a cartoon out of you, what would your standard outfit be? A pink colored sundress decorated with flowers, and ballet flats. My hair is big and curly.

Create a character description for yourself: She was alive. That was always good, though perhaps not in the best of her appearances with her glasses on, face unmade and hair in a messy bun. She was also wearing one of her dumpy nightshirts. But again, she was alive, and she was writing. Every single word she wrote was a victory. 

Do you like incorporating people you actually know into your writing? Bits of them sure, not blatant insertions to where people I know would know. Maybe just a wink.

Are you kill-happy with characters? Well, people do die IRL and in my writing. But I wouldn’t say I’m kill happy. IWD had two causalities. Will OIL have any? Well....I can’t answer that. Some of my favorite movies/books have poignant deaths, and I will admit the one major death scene that happened on screen in IWD was very cathartic and powerful for me. 

Am I George RR Martin kill happy though? no. 

Coffee or tea while writing? Morning: coffee. Night: Tea.

Slow or fast writer? I’m reasonably fast, though it certainly depends. sometimes it takes me a while to start. 

Where/who/what do you find inspiration from? Everything and anything. I always have my eyes peeled. When I was in Disney I came up with so many scenarios for Connor and Sophie, and yesterday doing sparklers and fireworks with my family I imagined a Cophie new year, lol. 

mainly though? Music. Definitely music.

If you were put into a fantasy world, what would you be? In my best life I’m a bard that follows along an adventurer and becomes their companion as they travel the the world. 

Most fave book cliche? Least fave book cliche? I’m a sucker for a lot of romantic tropes. The dance of romance, forehead touches, died in your arms, (Is that morbid? lol I’m sorry I just find it so dramatically satisfying.)  I love broody guy, gentle girl and variations of that trope. Friends to lovers. in fact I view my two OtPS a variation of the above. I probably have more too. Bedsharing too. I did bedsharing back before I knew everyone else loved it too :)

I’m of the opinion that most things can work if done properly but least favorite is by far the whole liar revealed story arc. at best I tolerate it, but...no. Just no. I’m getting a little tired of “we can’t be together” story lines and love triangles too. I also have tropes that I think are okay but everyone else loves: fake dating. (I know, I know. I even have my own fake dating story too. mostly I wrote it because I wanted to see if I could grow to like it.) and dramatic height differences. but this is mostly because I’m tall, and when I read young adult fiction as a youth, the LI was always so much taller than the herione...and I’m salty ok? lol. 

OH on young adult books: I’m tired of the heroine that “isn’t like other girls because I’m tough and reclusive and I don’t like makeup or whatever” (BELLA SWAN) I would like 2019 to be the year that I say you can be a powerful female and still like things that are traditionally feminine, and there should be no shame in it. I love writing characters that draw their strength through their femininity, because guess what...it’s not inherently weak! 

Fave scenes to write? I love scenes where the characters just talk. I love grand romantic gestures. I love moments of reflection. And of course, I love a love scene. :p

Most productive time of day for writing? When the muse strikes. 

It’s also strange to me that I most want to write when I’m in a crowd of people. maybe sometimes I feel like people are talking without listening and I feel a bit lonely so I imagine my characters, because they make me feel less lonely. 

Reason for writing? I always have in some way. The simple reason? I like to. It’s my therapy and my art. I just do :)

¿Por qué los globos flotan y yo no?

Tengo 26 año y siento que he gastado un cuarto de mi vida en nada. Estudio supuestamente en la universidad para llegar a tener un título, sé que no me recibiré pronto y posiblemente nunca; no hay carrera que me motive, no hay nada que lo haga. He intentado mucho, comencé a escribir un libro porque tuve la ilusión estúpida de que, si roleaba y me gustaba tanto escribir, ¿por qué no? Hice tres intentos, aún los tengo, aunque el tercero no pasó del prólogo. El primero se llamó Ilusión de Vida, intenten un web comic en dos ocasiones referente a este, tengo sus personajes dibujados en su mayoría y prácticamente siete capítulos escritos en letra ilegible en libretas que usé en mi último año escolar y los años posteriores, incluyendo cuando hice el primer año en Bellas Artes. La historia era trillada, aún la siento así, un mundo post tercera guerra mundial donde solo, creo, que 17 países quedaron en pie y la sociedad remarcó fuertemente (por presunta supervivencia) los estatus sociales. Los ricos tendrían documentación, serían alguien en la vida, mientras que los pobres, el ganado, serían indocumentados. La historia ronda en un instituto que y adolescentes que están metido en dos organizaciones clandestinas: Ultimo Recuerdo, cual es el pro indocumentados e intenta destrozar el gobierno actual y Todo por el Mundo, cual, contrariamente, intenta mantener el orden. Se desarrolla con un amor adolescente, la lucha, los engaños, la muerte, el cómo se usan niños como arma y cómo los adultos sólo los ven destruirse y los manipulan; la prota es bastante mary sue, invencible, imparable; hasta que ya no lo es. Tengo el principio, desenlace y final; tengo los 24 personajes importantes con físico pensado, nombre, puesto, arma de preferencia e historia de fondo. Tengo todo, pero la historia es tan patética y tonta que nunca la terminé.

La segunda que cree con fue “Datos Incompletos” o como puse en inglés: “Incomplete Data”. Esta es muy controversial y muy poco factible. También trata de un nuevo mundo tras una tercera guerra mundial sólo que con seres supernaturales en medio. Se encontró durante el desarrollo de esta guerra humanos capaces de transformarse en mamíferos (dos o hasta tres veces el tamaño real) y los usaron como armas, el problema era que no eran dominables hasta que descubrieron otros niños que hacen para poder controlarlos. Se basaba en una división de tres: las bestias que eran los que se transformaban en animales, los amos quienes son los únicos que pueden controlarlo (y sólo si son compatibles, no cualquiera puede controlar a cualquiera) y los híbridos que nacían duales y por eso mismo perecían jóvenes al no poder su cuerpo soportar tal problema. Cuando la guerra se volvió imparable por estos seres se llegó al final a un acuerdo y los países restantes reiniciaron su vida cambiando el nombre y algunos hasta el lugar que dominaban. Los nacidos con las marcas de bestia o amo, al cumplir sus 18 años, serían mandados al ejercito sin poder oponerse; el esconder un niño con cualquiera de las marcas conlleva la muerte de toda la familia. Entonces la historia se basa en dos gemelos que han vivido sabiendo que este sería su destino y ¡oh!, sí, lo controversial: son incestuosos, y no, no es lo único, uno de los gemelos se acuesta con el otro mediante manipulación emocional. Sí, adorable historia. Entonces ellos pasan la mitad de la historia histeriqueandose entre sí (porque para rematar el manipulador también es prácticamente un prostituto que se acuesta con todo lo que se mueva) mientras luchan contra las tres organizaciones que están contra el estado. La primera que quiere erradicar toda existencia de los amos/bestias, la segunda que está contra el gobierno, pero lo hacen de forma virtual y la tercera que está contra el gobierno (tiene diferencias más fuertes estas dos últimas, pero ahora no me acuerdo, todo está anotado) y son considerados terroristas porque atacan físicamente a dicho. Al final los malos no son tan malos, todos se pone en otra perspectiva y las cosas terminan raras. Tengo como 40 personajes pensados, con personalidad, nombre, edad, etnia, historia de fondo e historia propia en el desarrollo.

El tercer libro que comencé fue sobre una ciudad que fue atacada por un virus que destrozaba los órganos internos, haciéndolos gelatina, y mataba a los habitantes; en espera de evitar propagación de dicho se cerró el lugar con los infectados y no infectados dejándolos morir a todos; se hicieron altos murales que evitaban el ingreso o salida y se instaló seguridad de última tecnología para evitar esto. Casi veinte años más tarde, un científico obsesionado con lo que sucedió, logra que se le apruebe investigar el lugar con su equipo y un equipo militar; ingresan, se instalan, comienzan a investigar y oh, se encuentran con un chico. Mientras intentan descubrir como sobrevivió, complicándose la cosa porque este no parece saber hablar ya que se crio allí desde muy pequeño sin otras personas, la naturaleza que creció allí parece intentar ¿matarlos? Y todo se va al mismo demonio. Tiene final, como todas mis historias.

Entonces, cuando descubrí que escribir no era lo mío porque no sé redactar dos palabras de corrido que tengan sentido o siquiera generar emociones con lo que hago, decidí ir por otra cosa que se suponía que se me daba: Dibujar. Tengo dos DA, tengo Instagram, tumblr, twitter, tengo y he tenido millones de páginas para mostrar mis dibujos; dibujo fatal, sin vida, planos, sin corazón. Eh intentado amar lo que hago, lo hago, pero los odio tanto; cada dibujo que es tan simplón y plano, tan nada me destroza el alma. Aprendí, mejoré, intenté, lo intenté tanto. Entonces dije que, ya que no hago nada de mi vida porque soy una persona patética al menos podría vender mis dibujos: lo hice. Pedía 1 dólar por dibujos que las personas normales y con al menos dos dedos de frente cobran 10 dólares; creo que el dibujo más caro que cobre fueron 3 dólares. No sentía que mi trabajo valiera más, lo que me llevaba a odiar todo lo que hacía y a sentir que ni siquiera merecía eso; lo dejé, no pude más. No he dibujado en casi un año (o más, ya no sé ni que día es hoy).

Me estaba quedando sin cosas que podría intentar hacer para no ser un parásito y una carga, alguien que robe aire en este mundo; pensé en hacer algo más que pudiera ganar dinero, algo, lo que sea. No hay. Hacer gráficos en ps no se me da bien (aunque quizás en su tiempo de foros de anime eran bonitos, ahora son un asco). Entonces me quedó algo que sí se hacer, de forma sosa y penosa: códigos. Aprendí por necesidad y para agradar, para llamar la atención, para que me quieran en su tiempo. Hice mis primeras tablillas para Pearlhook, foro de anime y mis primeros skins para este y Bálderook, como fue llamado posteriormente. Entonces cerró y ya no había necesidad de que haga nada así que dejé de aprender o hacer cosas; creo que hice otros skins, solo recuerdo actualmente el de Hello Seattle, ese que destrozaron y dijeron que era una ameba, que era asqueroso, que era horroroso; ese que hice en una semana, con tablillas incluidas, sin saber realmente muchas cosas del css. Creo que hice otro posterior, no recuerdo. Entonces, no hace mucho, decidí darle otra oportunidad, y cree a IsleyCodes. Subí mis primeras tablillas –la de Leon que fue mi primer hover-, las posteriores y dejé que me solicitaran las que querían; porque me gusta ayudar, porque me gusta sentir que soy útil. Entonces decidí hacer dos skins, los cuales han visto, para foros y uno más propio; comencé amándolos, los amo aún, pero me sigo preguntando si el trabajar esas cuatro horas o hasta seis en un skin gratuito vale la pena; si es lo correcto, cuando el foro no lo usaré y/o disfrutaré, cuando la comunidad rolera no lo merece; odiaron el de Seattle y lo destrozaron sin pensarlo. Sé que cuando los termine estos, cuando se instalen, comenzarán a llover críticas sobre: “Oh, esto es plagio porque se parece a x lugar” o “Usa x color y x fuente entonces es plagio” y etc, comenzarán a criticar, comenzaran a señalar y destruir, porque la comunidad es destructiva. Y, aun así, les estoy haciendo dos skins gratis, y un tercero si alguien hace un foro de DBH, porque soy estúpida. Mientras que otros cobran por las horas y el conocimiento, yo sólo lo tiro y lo regalo, porque soy tonta. E igual, seguro que si intentara vender un skin cobraría 1 dólar porque soy así, porque no sirvo. Así que nada. Estoy cansada, muy cansada de ser simplemente tonta, alguien que está para nada y que hace nada de su vida. Solo estoy tan cansada, y recordar estas tres cosas que he intentado, y esta última que aún la intento, sólo me hacen sentir más tonta. Pero bueno, nada, nadie lo leerá, a nadie le importará, para muchos soy una persona que está aburrida y quiere lloriquear o ser la víctima, para otros solo soy tonta y punto. En fin, sí, no son mis mejores días, pero espero que al menos estos trabajos, que quiero terminar antes de que llegue el próximo mes, los disfruten, porque realmente valen mucho tiempo y, mucho esfuerzo.

"What.. what are you..?" Connor's vocalizer glitched, as Beth gripped the lapels of his jacket. Her eyes were intensely focused on the blue blood dripping from his abdomen and staining his white shirt. No response.

"Beth..." He whispered, LED flaring bright red as he looked up her. Her strength was inhuman, and no matter how hard he attempted to escape from her grasp.. nothing worked.

"Beth.. please..." Her eyes flashed up to his face, and he froze. Her eyes were the color of blood.. human blood.
