My first attempt at using an iPad and Procreate! Decided to do a little doodle of one of my boys, Jori. So far, I hate Apple's keyboard, but it sure does doodle good! I think it will be better once the screen protector and case come in so I'm not so scared of dropping it. Plus the screen protector is textured, so it'll probably be more comfortable.

Aparte del #redraw de un dibujo muy antiguo, tan antiguo q prácticamente fué de mis primeros dibujo en digital, quise hacer esto de nuevo por la gran admiración q le tengo a la animación de @toasty.glow de "Escape from Divinity" pero en mi versión y con mi OC. Espero que si lo ve el artista le guste, por q admiro muchísimo esa gran increíble animación. Me encantan las marcas y los significados q tienen, quise hacer todas las q conocía. No se si recordaréis q me las llegué a pintar en el brazo el año pasado en verano, y no sé si lo dije, pero me encantaría tatuarme las de la misma manera.

I've been pretty inspired all through November so far, which is a wonderful feeling? I'm not doing traditional Nanowrimo but I am doing a daily writing month thing this month, with a far lower word count target, and so far I am meeting those targets! And I've also been inspired to work on my digital art, doing a few portraits and exercises, having a lot of fun creatively ❤️

Much as I enjoy seeing Jenna Coleman’s photo shoots, I do wish she’d do one for a major, easy-to-obtain (outside the UK or niche shops in the States) magazine again.

Earlier this year, she did a shoot for a magazine called Glass. Here in Canada it’s not carried but I checked with a shop that brings in international magazines and they said they could order it.

Fast-forward something like 6 months and the order finally arrived.

What they got was an American magazine devoted to the art of glass-blowing.

I miss the days when Jenna was on the cover of Glamour UK and you could actually find it at the Wal-Marts in Calgary.

BTW I know all this stuff is available digitally, or someone will inevitably scan the article and post it here. But it’s not the same as having a physical copy, especially if the magazine has large pages. My brother visited the UK a few years back and came home with a Radio Times Jenna Coleman cover and it surprised me how large it was. “Suitable for framing” as they used to say!

Uhm....soooo 176 days since I typed out a post for the blog. Coooooolll.....I made my way back...eventually? Let us see how long I stick around this time. I would like to try my best to make something somewhat consistent.

We'll see...

I revived my iPod Mini today. I took a picture of my desk and thought it looked neat, so that's kind of what brought me back here...Here's the picture:

Okay...thats enough of the things I see in the picture. I like the idea of using the iPod mini again. I wore it on the walk to 7/11 and it worked out really nicely clipped to my shirt and holding the bag in place....I didn't have to fiddle with it at all!! The one thing I may try to investigate to replace for improvement is the headphone/earbud situation. These hot pink jlab beauties were on clearance for eight fiddy at the local wal greens. The bass is distorted but the noise isolation is nice.

Now I am curious as to whether there is a bluetooth adaptor that I can connect my earbuds to then plug the 3.5mm into the ipod to play through it....

That's what I'll look up next. I'll come back in a bit maybe.

Well...that was fun. I didn't look that up yet but I did want to come back and write a bit about my day...so maybe I'll try to do that?

I washed the dishes. I did a driveby someones house to pick up free chairs from their front lawn. I panicked and drove away....then came home and re-arranged my music files and revived the iPod. I collected Behb from work we'd made plans to go to the state park again....by the time we left the house we would've gotten there at 4 and the park closes at 5:30.....traffic was very bad because of all the holiday events. They had every turn around closed so I essentially just spent 30ish minutes driving around what normally should be a 5 minute square. I was very annoyed.

When we got home I boiled two eggs, fucked up peeling one of them and just threw it away. Then Behb suggested an idea for an activity...popcorn and movie night! He didn't think we had popcorn, I told him there was some in the pantry....it was too expired to eat so we walked down to the gas station and bought a bag to pop deciding along the way that we'd watch Die Hard....cuz...christmas movie - holiday festivities and what not.

I strung up lights last night! First I stuck the command strips to the glass on the window and they didn't stay....then I stuck them to the wall and clipped one of the three wires in there and they haven't fallen down yet! I also strung some over the picture and hung up the two christmas arts his family gave us last year...those combined with the christmas tree wax warmer and we're officially festive!

But newai....

When we returned home, we learned that Die Hard isn't streaming on any of the streamy services we have, and we didn't want to pay $3.99 to rent it once.....so I started scrolling....and suggested: Scooby Doo Movie (2002ish) or Jumanji (1995 w/ Robin Williams).

Behb popped the corn, brought a beer, and picked Jumanji. Turns out....ITSA CHRISTMAS MOVIE TOO! At least...Christmas was in it....so...that counts. I honestly don't think I'd seen it before...but it was a good watch and I was entertained so I'm glad it worked out.

Tomorrow is Behbiversary! It will be 4 years since we swiped n started conversing. I am glad we are progressioning together. I'm going to look for strawberries and chocolates for us to make after he's off tomorrow. He got me roses ^_^. Okay...gonna go click around...I think I'll be back soon...I think I want to add some more...but a break now would be nice. So...ye...brb

Weekly Update: 5/15/23 - 5/20/23

Creative Works:

So, I realized there's a reason I have to perform my annoying task of "drawing things twice," when it comes to digital art's sketch outlines and finishing ones: so I can actually get a darn clue on how to actually make those final outlines! I mean, I had a hard time realizing how to draw Sarah and Jimmy's masks (position/etc.), or how to draw the terrified expressions of their victims, in that "Assassin AU" fan art idea that I mentioned. Key advice: when they say, "It's ideal to use a reference," they also mean, "Quit with the lazy shortcuts and draw EVERYTHING you need to make it look nice, ya idiot kid!"... Well, it's certainly been among the better ways of being humbled about your ACTUAL ability to rely on your brain more than your eyes.

Anyhow, I've finished Sarah's outlines, so that leaves Jimmy and the unfortunate henchmen, then comes coloring. Afterwards, comes the coloring (and lettering) of Getting Your Goat's first comic chapter image.

Personal Life:

Well, I tried alcohol for the first time in my life, and I was disappointed. That hard version of Baja Blast just did NOT taste good... Probably because Baja Blast generally stinks, whenever it's "zero sugar." I still wanna try Smirnoff's "red/white/blue" flavor, but I'm a little concerned by how it's a vodka instead of a beer, despite the case consisting of 6 bottles than being a single, larger one. After all, vodka contains a higher alcohol concentration and I don't want to sicken my body-- even if I plan on taking sips from a shot glass, like a little baby. I will admit, though, it did feel easier to sleep through the night, even with just a couple of quick sips; however, I highly recommend against using such beverages as a sleeping aid, since you can actually disrupt your sleep with enough and no one wants to work while hungover.

Luckily, my mom has made the mention of a brand named: "Seagram," so I'll be looking into that, too.

I'm also hoping to do something about the mental/emotional state I seem to get into, whenever I get reminded of lockdowns and the pandemic... Let's just say, being a Wal-Mart Self-Checkout Host during that time, with limit enforcements and all, makes it harder to focus on doing your creative work (not to say it was always pleasant beforehand...). If you have any tips for "memory management," per se, I'd love to hear it. I've already tried a therapist and psychiatrist, and medication, so alternative suggestions, please.

Misc:

Finally got to see the animated Mario Bros movie! Geez, you know there's too much focus on "political agendas" and all that, when Princess Peach maintaining her iconic blonde hair and blue eyes is quite the pleasant surprise for your parents... No, seriously, that's one reason why "professional critics" were unfairly chastising the film: a fair-skinned lady, with the "whitest" features imaginable, served as the beautiful princess and main female lead. Ignoring the fact that, y'know, that's Peach's iconic look in almost EVERY past Mario property... Besides, isn't "representation" better with an original character, instead of acting like non-white people aren't worth that creativity and just some sloppy, pandering "seconds"?

Okay, let's have that be as "political" as we go... It's certainly a film I recommend, if you enjoy the Mario franchise because fans are certainly whom this film concerns itself with the most!

Today was...not really the best day ever.

Okay, so it wasn’t exactly horrible, but like...well, I got my paycheck from MBS, which would be great...if I didn’t immediately have to spend some of it on paying my gas bill. And then I ordered some groceries from the store, since it was gray and rainy out, and there was even a flood and thunderstorm warning. Joke is that I couldn’t even get everything I ordered...apparently Wal-Mart was out of quite a few stuff -___- Then I ordered lunch through Doordash, because PMS DEMANDED it...

Also, I wasn’t really able to do anything during my Digital Art class, I was having a bit of trouble, but yeah--that’s neither here nor there.

I should be getting some more of the groceries I ordered later this week, but for others they had to hold? Well, I might call the store tomorrow to check on that...I’m kind of mad about that, TBH.
