Not to be that guy, but... hey he/they trans guys, I just wanna ask. Do you use "they" because it feels right... because it clicks as part of your identity... or because it doesn't hurt as much as she/her, so it must be okay.
And don't just evaluate this for they/them. Evaluate it for he/him as well. "I'm a guy so I have to use he/him" no the fuck you do not. Plenty of guys use they/them. Plenty of guys use she/her. Plenty use it/its/ve/vir/ce/cir and are still men. If he/him doesn't fit, you don't fucking have to use he/him and it doesn't make you any less of a man. You know that... right?
Also before this post starts an argument I am not pissing on he/they pronoun users I am simply reminding all you transmascs that there is no obligation binding you to those specific pronouns... a post I needed to see myself.

so i was thinking about lan wangji and how he has this reputation of being righteous while also in my opinion acting like an asshole? like he acts very petty and is ready to pull his sword on people a lot and isn't really involved in politics even in a way that makes sense as a high ranking member of a sect? like the silencing spell on jin ling is uh. bad.
it's like lan wangji has scary dog privilege by virtue of his reputation and his brother and uncle who will wreck you if you do or say anything to/about him. except thats not right because theyre not scary dogs at all, they just protect him. it's like lan wangji is a scary dog and lan xichen and lan qiren smooth things over and stop him from doing something too awful and calm others down after lan wangji does something not too great. and i guess with the reputation for being righteous (second jade of lan) is enough to deter people from saying/doing things like "hey he's a dick" because dude that's hanguang-jun, what are you talking about???".
and the people he saves on night hunts or whatever are random civilians who don't interact with him enough to see him behave badly, and a cool and aloof powerful cultivator saving them gets a lot of leeway on account of being a famous powerful cultivator and also being someone who saved them from fierce corpses or spirits or healed their kid or grandparent or whatever. who cares if theyre quiet and kinda rude they saved their sister!!!!!
so when lan wangji is a dick to jin ling or fucks off from political stuff or is ready to pull his sword on jiang cheng in the jiang ancestral hall or whatever he's doing so with the reputation of hanguang-jun who saves people and also is supported by lan xichen (lan sect leader and brother) and lan qiren (former acting sect leader, uncle, teacher) and they are protective and dare i say overindulgent of lan wangji???? like bro you are a political figure whether you like it or not, your actions have effects on things besides your own direct personal circle. like the heir of gusu lan pulling a sword on sect leader jiang is fucking political incident whether or not theyre both being assholes or not. the adult heir of gusu lan using the lan silencing spell on the teenage heir of lanling jin is a political incident. not engaging with other sects politically, ever, says important things about your priorities and your influence both within the sect and without.
also like. what if something happened to gusu lan? like say lan xichen is injured, and lan qiren is also out of commission for some reason? that means lan wangji is acting sect leader. can you IMAGINE lan wangji as sect leader. imagine it. really visualize it. there's a lot of jokes about lan wangji being a petty bitch and people love it but imagine a petty bitch as a sect leader. the situation would blow up faster than lans get drunk on a glass of wine. like dude. so much stuff would be totally fucked.
anyway lan wangji as he is in mdzs would be a shit sect leader/chief cultivator/etc. he doesn't behave like he's intimately involved in the politics of his world (which he is) and may or may not have training in doing so - maybe he has training and just doesn't do it? which is also really bad, then he would know better and still not do it or help in any way.

Apropos of nothing, I was just thinking about the time an acquaintance of mine said, completely seriously, that she didn't think cis women should be allowed to wear fake mustaches because it was an 'appropriation of trans guy culture.' She said it in reaction to seeing two people with fake mustaches walk past the table we were sitting at. And I was just there going: "Uhhh...." Like: a. How do you know they are women? Are you going to ask every stranger with a false mustache to reveal the nuances of their gender identity to you? b. Plenty of cis women wear fake mustaches from time to time; drag kings are a thing (not that all drag kings are cis women but some are!), so is theater. c. Do you really think it's a good idea to police who can and can't wear certain things? Really? (Also she was a cis woman so like???) Also just. The way she phrased it. Appropriating trans guy culture. This was during the time when cultural appropriation was being discussed a lot in leftist circles, and obviously that was an important topic, but some people really just did not understand what it meant and threw around the phrase 'cultural appropriation' (or some variation thereof) willy-nilly. And I was like: "You keep using that phrase. I do not think it means what you think it means."

hello codecicle master of the jrwi fandom, answer me this riddle I plea
hypothetically, if someone drew their own version of the Charlie bimbofication art, and this person was pretty good at anatomy and such and as a result the picture looked a little sexy, and also this hypothetical person drew him in a gay little croptop like MaxGGs suggested, and also they gave him eyeshadow...... how do you think this image would be received. I am new to this fandom and I don't know
because I have three theories:
oh my god this person took the Charlie bimbofiction joke that we are all in on seriously and actually put effort into the art! That's so cringe. and kind of weird, why are they so invested?
oh my god this person is sexualising Charlie Slimecicle. Kill them. Find their house and murder them irl
omg cool art I love this!
any thoughts?
hello anon! this is a holy land Far FAR away from twitter so we do not do any killing or finding of houses or murdering here ^_^ if you sexualize him we typically dap you up and compliment the art through saying Normal Things in the notes and falling slightly more in love with him faggot style. if i had to guess how it would be received i would say the response would be OVERWHELMINGLY positive
and if this hypothetical person ends up posting this art, could i, codecicle the alleged master of the jrwi fandom (LMAO?!?!? THANKYOU??), Maybe get a little tag in it so I can see. persnaps. i am not above begging my faggotry must be fueled

my eyes have been opened to the world of wednesday shipping discourse. wow
this is so funny because the last time i engaged in shipping discourse was in like 2016 on a wings of fire forum. when people were arguing about moonbli vs winterwatcher vs qinter vs qinterwatcher (i actually didn’t really care but i felt like i had to have an opinion so i picked moonbli because qibli and moon were my favorite characters. and i remember that when darkness of dragons came out everyone was like “no spoilers!! i haven’t read it yet don’t tell me who she ends up with!!!!!” so instead people would say that their otp was canon. which was nice except they had their otp in their signatures which kind of defeated the point. oops that was kind of a tangent my bad). ANYWAYS i forget how strong of opinions people can have about this stuff
i think the main arguments i’ve seen against wednesday with either tyler or xavier are that it felt super forced. like no chemistry there the writers just wanted to shove a love triangle into the show. which i agree with totally agree with. i hated both tyler and xavier as characters so while i’m sure there are definitely great things about these ships i don’t see them
enid and wednesday is very popular, for good reason. enid is definitely queer-coded, especially with the whole lycanthropy as a metaphor for being queer thing. werewolf conversion therapy her poor relationship with her parents because she’s not “normal” like all of that. she was also the secondary character with the most screen time (i think. that’s what it seemed like when i watched the show) and the most interactions and chemistry with wednesday. this is understandable and i respect it
tyler and xavier i think is super funny. like they interacted maybe 3 times (which i know has never stopped shippers) but also. i can accept this i think. they both suck in different ways (in my opinion) but this is how everyone wins. pair them together and no one else has to deal with them. (that’s a joke btw. i do think this ship could have merit and i’d be curious to see what people have done with it.)
wednesday/no one: my otp. wednesday is aro/ace and you can’t tell me otherwise. the best ship in the entire show.

Gotta get this off my chest about the min-max VTM player I had
So he builds a Toreador, these are the classic "suave seductive masters of manipulation" for the unfamiliar
Great I thought! The Baron (regions leader) and a major NPC (said Baron's childer) are Tores too so I can show them off and give him the "this is how easy it will be for you to manipulate others once you get some practice under your belt" anticipation
Helping him build he picked the Beautiful and Enchanting Voice merits, plopping the remaining points into Wealthy
Sure I thought he's a charisma build so of course he wants his main gimmick to work no problem! But it quickly became a problem...
See I love charisma builds too but I have never been so unwilling to oh idunno work with the other players, realize NPCs won't just do whatever I want because I asked, or expected powerful allies to appear from thin air and pledge themselves to me eternally
The pattern repeated itself "Uh why won't they tell me anything about the drug dealing gang?" You walked into a room of strangers and immediately asked about a group that a. Prides itself on secrecy, to B. A group of STRANGERS
It was this way for everything "There's a psychic in town, she can help point you towards your goals if you pay and treat her with respect" session 1 she walks into the psychic office and demands 3 major things. 1: Powerful human allies I can manipulate. 2: They have to be compatible with my personality. 3: Leads on my friends murder.
I gave him those things and took 1 point of Wealth, it was a massive request AND HE BITCHED ABOUT IT "it shouldn't have cost me that much"
Dude you're a fledgling alright? Slow your roll
He flipped off the Nosferatu, told the Baron she wouldn't work for him, and her only relationship with her sire and touchstones are "call them up and ask for information/favors"
His entire play style was basically asking me to write fanfiction about his OC and still getting mad when I gave him things
Not to mention he said with his Wealth he and another player were going to "do something and break the game" which uh.... OK alright chief please use her medical knowledge and your resources to make darts that instantly dissolve humans/kindred (that was the first plan they told me about, but they had something worse apparently?) Just don't get mad if someone else, maybe the info brokers you told to fuck off figure out the recipie and use it on you
Fuck man I was trying to be cool about it but when we finish the 5e game and get back to VTM I might tell him he isn't welcome
