Gosh, basically.... the whole wing shape is wrong for gliding

Firstly, a majority of the dragons' wings do not have any base to them. base being the membrane that should go down their side

By far the worst offender seems to be arrax here, but like. all of the dragons have NO membrane going from their arms down their sides, the only one who appears to have more normal wings is syrax

It's got more base to the wings so this gif looks slightly more natural to me but not by much

NOW,, my disclaimer. I am not an expert in aerodynamics. So I am just going off what I know personally

First off, the wing shape in most of these dragons is elliptical (like in sparrows) which is good for powered flight (flapping), and when they ARE flapping, it does look very good!! Very powerful strokes etc.

However, because they are missing that base at the wing, a lot of the energy of the downstroke would simply just escape. Wings in general work by "trapping" wind underneath them, by making the air on top roll by at a different speed than the air underneath and generate lift that way, but if there's nothing TO lift... then it won't work

Animals who actually glide all have very specialized wings for it.

Eagles, vultures, condors, etc: all of them have IMMENSE wings, and they almost cannot do powered flight (at least not on the same level that sparrows can), they rely a lot on updrafts

Their wings are all very wide, but very rectangular!! the base of their wings is basically the same width as the rest of the wing, generally

This is true as well for SEABIRDS which are all gliding experts. Seabirds have VERY not wide wings, but they make up for that in length, and this very specialized shape they have allows them to glide for literal WEEKS without needing to land

Basically, I suppose it's something of a tradeoff? Even in these birds the base is incredibly proportionate to the shape of their wings and body, and they depend on wind currents over the ocean specifically. They've evolved for that

I personally think the got dragon's wings are incredibly disproportionate, looking at wings on any other animal it immediately stands out that a whole chunk of wing is simply... gone. For no good reason other than aesthetic I think

And besides the anatomical error, they don't have a clear purpose to their shape, they kinda do everything all the time and its jarring to see on otherwise incredibly designed creatures and its also an immense shame. It would have been so cool to see different dragons have different flying techniques (the only different one we get is caraxes with his wing legs, but from what ive seen)

Even if Penelope and Tuff don't converse on the regular anymore they consider each other friends after Penelope approached him concerning her request.

Penelope appreciates his laxness in terms of what constitutes as worthy things of using magic for. And what really counts as a curse or not. He was given the opportunity to test if the curse was successful, and Penelope got a little too distracted with being happy that it did work.

But in all seriousness, the "they're not good enough to be targs" is such a dumb take, its beyond ridiculous. Like you're not going to catch me defending Aegon, but none of the targaryens we've met in hotd are saints, majority of the targaryens in Fire and Blood do horrific fucked up things and those who don't have horrific fucked up things done to them at the hands of their own family members.

if you want a romantic anime I can recommend "president of the student council is a maid?!". it's sort of a classic so you might have heard of it but it's cute. not without it's issues of the time and of the genre. but still it's very decent. funny and the main girl and the love interest boy are interesting

also something you might have seen: classmate. just a lil bit of school romance, it's a film. it is gay in a very like. sort of realistic but not for the sake of angst and suffering kind of way. very good animation

Like, for example, what if they did not have the DLC planned in advance or even know whether they'll want to make it or not? Not even the matter of 'we should see how well received ER will be first', but simply a matter of how process of writing the story is unpredictable! But when they decided to do it, they would need to figure how to add new lore in a way that doesn't damage or retcon pre-established information. And they did: having a secret family member erased from the collective memory for a good reason is a fair way to develop the backstory more!

But back to the actual point, yeah, I guess it IS kind of funny in this context that even the already established lore leaves the room for Messmer AND much more demigods! Marika had SO many bitches/boytoys....

so do you have any Akita/Lloyd ship headcanons or ideas…or like anything? you are one of the few people who I found that like the ship and see it’s potential so I want to read more from you

Here are some alternate reunion ideas I had:

Lloyd runs into Akita after the merge, but she is for some reason stuck in wolf form, so you have this sort of repeat of their original meeting, but this time Lloyd talks to her cuz he wants to talk to her, not because he thinks no one's listening. He ends up making a lot of deep confessions, and when they finally figure out how to get her back, they're twice as close because of it.

they run into each other early after the merge, back when Lloyd thought he was all alone. They decide to stick together and set up a couple operations to help people. They start dating because they spend SO much time together, they end up being this sort of power couple going around helping people. But they end things on bad terms because they have some fundamental disagreements about how to go forward. Lloyd wants to go out as far as possible to explore and establish connections with these new places, and Akita wants to stay put, and try and establish the strongest home base possible. She wants to avoid confrontation for as long as possible and sees these new worlds as inherently hostile. Point being, you can have them meet up again later in the series, and they have the whole exs who hate each other but are absolutely still in love vibe.

For the first few there's probably some concern he's killed his mate and is just stalling time. But the few that get a peek into the room confirm they did see Lucerys alive and unharmed (if very disheveled).

Hopefully he calms down by the time they're old enough to actually inherit. Because if not that's one week where neither of them are available to actually govern.
