random ducktales headcanons in whatever order I think of them

Louie likes math. He acts like he doesn’t because he thinks it’s dumb and nerdy, but he likes math.

In a human AU, Huey would wear cargo pants, track pants, or jeans on occasions. Dewey is a jeans every day type-of-guy, he doesn’t own any pants besides jeans. Louie always wears sweatpants or track pants.

Researching Scrooge really got Webby into American history. She loves learning about Scrooge when he was in America. Some of her favorite periods to learn about; The Gold Rush, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, primarily the early Gilded Age.

As Dewey gets older, he gets a passion for writing. His overactive imagination is a tool for this. He also uses inspiration from his childhood fantasies and incorporates them into his stories. For example, he makes references only he would get about Dewey High in his writing. He does primarily action/adventure and realistic fiction.

Louie gets easily embarrassed about his hobbies. He starts by doing them nonchalantly, but when he realizes people are noticing, he starts doing them in secret.

Huey does not get art, primarily poetry, plays, or anything written. It just goes right over his head. He hates English class and Shakespeare.

When Lena likes something, she draws it a lot. Whether it be her magic, people, friendship bracelets, or even just a little trinket she found, she’ll draw it. These drawings go into her most beloved sketchbooks. But she also has the Sketchbook of No Return, in which she draws things she hates as a way of getting her emotions out. Sometimes she even blacks out the page after drawing it.

Violet introduces Webby to Ancient Civilizations. They study early history together, from Mesopotamia to India to Greece.

Huey and Violet get competitive when they do Junior Woodchuck things, but they get along really well otherwise. They both have passions for science and nature.

Boyd and Huey are best friends, and hang out all the time. Despite being a robot, like all Gearloose’s inventions Boyd feels human emotions. Huey finds this extremely fascinating. Louie likes to tease Huey about being friends with a robot, but Louie doesn’t really have many friends himself so he can’t say much.

Gosalyn feels awkward at the huge sleepovers the Duck and Vanderquack family are always hosting. Her only friend at them is Dewey, while everyone else knows each other. Even Boyd knows Lena and Violet. Plus, Gosalyn doesn’t even know the rest of the Duck boys. But, eventually she warms up to everyone after being super competitive in games and sort of cold as a defense mechanism.

Lena and Violet dye their hair together sometimes.

Panchito and José eventually become known as Uncle Panchito and Uncle José.

Huey, being terrified of Dewey’s carelessness, finds Louie to be his Comfort Sibling™

Louie is kind-of into knitting???

Fethry, Gladstone, Donald, and Della always came to Scrooges for the Holidays. Every Holiday. Winter and Spring break too. They all got pretty close. Plus, adventuring was not Donald and Della exclusive.

Donald is the only one who can tell the triplets apart when they do their hair the same way and wear the same clothes.

One time Louie stole Webby's skirt because he wanted to know what it was like to wear one. He's also done this with Scrooge's clothes.

Dewey cannot cook for the life of him, but Huey is a master chef. Huey also makes the best soup-and-salad combos. Louie is in the middle ground, but for some reason finds baking much easier.

One time Della, Donald, Fethry and Gladstone played War together, but on teams. Donald and Gladstone wanted to see whose luck would outweigh the others, so they teamed up. The game was cut short because the table got knocked over and the cards fell through the floorboards. They looked for the cards but couldn’t find them.

May loves drawing and June loves reading, and they like to write books together. Daisy gives May fashion tips for her characters, and reads the books June recommends.

Webby likes to photobomb Dewey's selfies.

Gosalyn and Louie scam people together.

Webby and Lena have a playlist of both their favorite songs. They sing to all of them at their one-on-one sleepovers.

Lena and Violet both like heavy metal.

Gosalyn was extremely girly as a child.

Lena reminds Scrooge of Donald when he was younger.

Drake adopted Gosalyn (obviously).

Lena and Huey lowkey have beef.

Dewey was actually laid first.

One time Dewey accidentally called Storkules his Uncle Storkules. The man was never happier.

Panchito became a sky pirate once but Don Karnage booted him.

Boyd really likes listening to Huey talk about his passions, which is good since Huey goes on and on about them. Donald thinks it's so sweet that Huey has such a good friend. Boyd is Donald's favorite of all of the boys' friends.

Louie's khopesh is his favorite treasure ever.

Della was Donald's best man at his and Daisy's wedding. It didn't matter that she wasn't a man.

Launchpad and Drake nerd out together for at least three hours a week.

Drake cannot handle affection. He gets all awkward when someone tells him they love him or when someone hugs him.

When Louie isn't around, Boyd is the number two comfort buddy for Huey.

Violet and Boyd get along really well, and Huey gets jealous of Violet. But they primarily hang out in JW meetings so it isn't crazy.

Oh hey guys, what’s up?

Shoot dang, I haven’t posted in over a year! But I’m back for a bit because I can’t get Clan McDuck outta my head. XD

D’you think May and June would want to be renamed?

I can imagine May and June wanting Webby to start going by April so they can all match like triplets, but Webby wouldn’t want that. 

She’d explain how she’s grown up with the name Webbigail, and someone who loves her gave her that name. 

Bradford and Heron didn’t love her. They made her just to use her to try and take Scrooge down. And Scrooge is one of her absolute favorite people who ever lived, if not her #1 favorite. 

Plus, Webbigail probably means “a father’s joy,” in this universe since it’s a duck pun on Abbigail.

And I think after Webby explains all this to the girls - that she wants nothing to do with the villains who created her and just wants to be Beakley and Scrooge’s Webbigail, May and June might also want new names (so they can all not-match together). 

Maybe they’d ask Beakley to rename them, but I think Beakley, knowing now who these girls’ father is, would suggest they ask Scrooge, especially since he didn’t get to name is firstborn. And Scrooge would just melt if they asked. He’d put some thought into it, but he wouldn’t take long. I’ve headcanoned that Scrooge has always been fond of the name Emily, and maybe he’s thought if he ever had a daughter, that’s what he’d like to name her. It’s a name that’s been around a while, even in the Victorian era. It’s also become extremely popular in Scotland in recent years.    It has a few meanings, including rival, but it also means striving, industrious, and hard working, which are values of Scrooge’s that he’d want his children to emulate. 

I think he’d assign this name to May. She was the more purpose-driven clone, always striving for approval and working hard to accomplish her goals. 

As for little June-bug... well isn’t she just a wee bonnie thing?

And ye cannae get more Scottish than the name Bonnie! 

Bonnie is a Scottish name that means pretty, sweet, and pleasant. June may have had a few less-than-sweet moments while working for F.O.W.L., but F.O.W.L. was of course a bad influence on who is otherwise a very sweet, family-oriented baby bean.

And it is kind of hard for me to imagine the girls going by these different names since I’ve thought of them as May and June for so long, but I think it’s very possible they’d want to be called something else now that they’re with their family, and the names do suit them.

Something I noticed about DT17 Darkwing characters and the OG is the ages.

At least from what I interpreted it as, they aged Launchpad and Drake down a little but it also seems like they aged Gosalyn up a little?

Like if she was 7 or 8 in the OG she’s probably like 10-12 in the reboot.

Idk I just think it makes the dynamic especially between Drake and Gosalyn super interesting because in the OG he’s old enough to be her dad but in the reboot he’s BARLEY old enough to plausibly be her dad and that’s kinda funny to me.

Huey being the burnt out gifted kid is so special to me by the way. Growing up, he was the smart one, Louie was lazy and Dewey was Dewey.

But now Louie is on his way to become a successful business person, and Dewey is a prodigy pilot. Sure, Huey’s still smart, but he has no idea what he wants to do with his life. He feels lost and directionless, hell he’s even aging out of the woodchucks!

I have no conclusion to this, but to be fair neither did canon.

I personally like to think at that point in time, whenever the girls had sleepovers, Lena ALWAYS placed her sleeping bag in between Webby and Violet, so whenever she did wake up from a nightmare, she found comfort in the fact that her best friend and her sister were right beside her and she wasn’t alone like when she was living in the amphitheater.

Okay, we absolutely talk about the main 4 kids as friends (the triplets and Webby), but why not these 4 as their own group?

I raise you…The B-Team!

I think one of the brilliant things about this foursome is how great each would be in a duo, no matter who you pair them up with.

Configuration 1:

Lena and Violet-Sisters and fellow magic enthusiasts.

Boyd and Gosalyn-Besides the fact that they were added into the friend group a bit later on, they’re both kinda superhero-adjacent (Boyd with Gizmoduck, Gosalyn with Darkwing), plus they did work together in the finale.

Configuration 2:

Lena and Boyd-Both came from abusive pasts, and were helped to overcome it. #TraumaBuddies Plus, I think they’d both be super protective of each other, in a big sister-little brother kind of way.

Violet and Gosalyn-Despite their obvious differences in personality, they both thrive on danger and the unknown. See this post by @writebackatya for a better explanation.

Configuration 3:

Lena and Gosalyn-They’re both total bad Bs. And I see them both having a very dry sense of humor.

Violet and Boyd-They’re both Junior Woodchucks, they’re both nerds, and both had an episode focusing on their dynamic with Huey (I cannot talk enough about the three of them as a trio, though. #StreamThePowerofThree)

But yeah. Lena, Violet, Boyd, and Gosalyn would be an interesting quartet together.

Ducktales Headcanon: Louie’s Disconnection

I feel like Louie is nothing like his family. Scrooge may be into money and Donald not as adventurous, and Gladstone because of obvious reasons, but he is in way different ways than those three. Scrooge is obsessed with work and talks about tough times related to that, and Louie doesn’t want that. Donald is extremely cautious and terrified, but Louie doesn’t care about his safety in that way, he just finds adventure tiring. And unlike Gladstone, he cares deeply about his family.

I think Louie found Gladstone so likeable when he first met him because he found someone to relate to. Pure luck is what Louie wanted. But Gladstone wasn’t what Louie thought he would be-- he’s careless, rude, and nothing like a good role model.

He probably feels especially disconnected from his mother. Della is a big video game and woodchuck nerd, like Huey. She loves pure adventure and piloting, like Dewey. But what does she have in common with Louie? Nothing.

You may say other characters have this too, but they really don’t. Louie is the only one in the family who finds adventure tiring. He also isn’t very similar to Webby, but Huey and Dewey are. Huey and Webby are into nerd things and Dewey and Webby are in tune and adventurous together.

He likely feels disconnected from his family altogether. As much as he loves them, they have nothing in common.

Yesterday I was watching Top Gun Maverick, and we all know that is Della's favorite movie.

But, which is the favorite movie of the rest of the family?

Let's go for the two obvious answers first.

Yeah, we're not getting original, is Ocean's Eleven for Louie. He looks up to Danny Ocean.

And of course Webby loves The Little Mermaid.

Look at this stuff. Isn't it neat?

Now, we can imagine.

For Donald, it has to be a sea movie. But which one? Donald likes calm and naps, but he fights zombies with chainsaws.

So he can take a horror movie. And it just happen that the best horror movie ever is about a sea monster. Yeah, Donald loves Jaws.

A movie about a hero saving the town dancing? Yes, Dewey loves everything about Footloose.

Huey believes in science, but he also believes in love. So, Wall-E for him.

You know he cries every time he sees Wall-e and Eve dancing in space.

Lena is a horror gal. That's her thing. I think she loves the classics, but she changes her favorite when something scarier appears. So, Hereditary.

I headcanon all Team Science being anime fans. B.O.Y.D. is definitely a Ghibli fan, and I believe My Neighbor Totoro would be his favorite.

Love the aro-ace Dewey hc. It definitely stands in opposition to Huey's more romantic coded. So if we're talking the triplets thoughts on Louie and Huey?

do you mean hc wise for their sexualities? Well if so then I personally like to think Huey is Bi-Demiromantic. Why you may ask? Well I will be very honest it's a self projection hc bcuz I am a Huey kinnie (he's my highest kin actually and a huge comfort character) so ofc I like to project some hcs onto him based off of traits of myself 😅 I also could genuinely see him not minding much if he had a gf/bf/partner. But I feel like he would lean a bit towards girls preference wise but still be open to other options. as for Louie I'm actually not too sure what his sexuality could be. I could see him being anything but like even if he DID have attraction he would just CHOOSE not to act on it. I could also see him not really minding he isnt in one. I feel like this is due to him already having sm planned already with his future and business that he'd want to focus a lot of time and effort on that. And that would be very time consuming. And the only relationships he may want to focus on are his family and friends. He'd already have so much time taken up especially during the beginning he may just want to prioritize them when he can. Totally valid if you disagree tho. This is just my take.

Secondly I have a question/kind of request: Have any of the caballeros dabbled in gender-nonconformity in terms of fashion? Idk why but I can totally imagine José or Panchito in gowns or fancy/frilly robes✨

Thank you!!! AND YES ABSOLUTELY. This is a headcanon of mine but I think José at some point was way more open to wearing feminine clothes than Panchito. But don't worry, he later came around to enjoying it too.

I've been meaning to draw them in dresses for so long and then proceeded to hold this ask hostage for 5 months, oops.
