Ncuti Gatwa is The Doctor.

Speaking of his new role, Ncuti said: “There aren’t quite the words to describe how I’m feeling. A mix of deeply honoured, beyond excited and of course a little bit scared. This role and show means so much to so many around the world, including myself, and each one of my incredibly talented predecessors has handled that unique responsibility and privilege with the utmost care. I will endeavour my utmost to do the same.  Russell T Davies is almost as iconic as the Doctor himself and being able to work with him is a dream come true. His writing is dynamic, exciting, incredibly intelligent and fizzing with danger. An actor’s metaphorical playground. The entire team have been so welcoming and truly give their hearts to the show. And so as much as it’s daunting, I’m aware I’m joining a really supportive family. Unlike the Doctor, I may only have one heart but I am giving it all to this show.”

Russell T Davies, the showrunner adds: “The future is here and it’s Ncuti! Sometimes talent walks through the door and it’s so bright and bold and brilliant, I just stand back in awe and thank my lucky stars. Ncuti dazzled us, seized hold of the Doctor and owned those TARDIS keys in seconds. It’s an honour to work with him, and a hoot, I can’t wait to get started. I’m sure you’re dying to know more, but we’re rationing ourselves for now, with the wonderful Jodie’s epic finale yet to come. But I promise you, 2023 will be spectacular!”

So, whovians, you might have seen online that some nutjob is trying to revoke the rights/licence for An Unearthly Child, the first ever Doctor Who story, from the BBC. This living proof that neanderthals aren't extinct is the son of Anthony Coburn, the writer of the original story. He believes he is owed royalties and claims this is "revenge." I would link the 'informative' rant/temper tantrum this clearly well-adjusted individual had on Twitter, but if I did so, my phone would probably develop sepsis.

Oh, he's also homophobic, transphobic, racist, an ardent anti-vaxxer, has tried to claim ownership of the TARDIS before and believes the BBC had his dad nobbled on the set of a drama. Do with that information what you will.

Either way, it might be our moral duty to start pirating An Unearthly Child (that is, if you weren't doing so already, in which case light our way you magnificent bastards). The BBC has privated clips from the episode on YouTube for now, but hopefully this will only be a blip. It's still on Britbox, there are DVDs and will probably be added to iPlayer and any other 100% legitimate sites you use. Hopefully this'll add up to nothing. Just a heads up for y'all.

Jake grabbed hold of MCs arms he didn't need too ask what was wrong, the look in her eyes said it all. She pulled away slightly and looked into his eyes the only place she felt safe was in Jake's arms. Jake walked her back over too the bed and sat her down he took a look at the contents of the box and card.

MC: he's never going too stop is he?

Jake: if he knows what's good for him he will

MC: are you any closer too finding who he is?

Jake: I called in some favours last night let me just check my laptop.

Jake reached over and grabbed his laptop he typed away moving from page too page when he got a notification pop up he clicked on it and read the message.

MC: Jake what is it?

Jake: I now know who is behind this

MC: who is it Jake? Please I have too know

Jake: I don't know how too say this

MC: Jake!! Please just tell me

Jake: okay, it's Alan bloomgate

MC froze unable too move her mouth dropped open, her hands started too tremble. She started too lose control Jake grabbed hold of her and held her close.

MC: what am I going too do? I don't get why he's doing this

Jake: I will find out, I'm going too hack into his computer and see what I can find

Jessy could hear MCs crys and came into the door a look of concern on the redheads face, she came over too MC and sat down next too her on the bed.

Jessy: what's happened?

MC: Alan bloomgate

Jessy: what do you mean....no it can't be

Jake: I'm afraid it is

Jessy: what are we going too do? We can't go too the police now

Jake: don't worry I'm going too hack his computer, but I need too go get the rest of my stuff out of storage.

MC: can I come with you

Jake: of course, i won't leave your side

Jake kissed MC softly on the lips and gave her a hug, he took hold of her hand and grabbed his phone and keys.

Jessy: while your getting your stuff I'll sort out my office you can set up in there

Jake: thanks Jessy

MC: oh wait what about the others they are coming round?

Jessy: don't worry about them I'll put them off for now

MC gave Jessy a hug and left with Jake too get his stuff but just as they were about too leave there was a knock at the door. The knock made MC jump and grab hold of Jake.

Jessy: I'll go see who it is, Jessy looked through the peep hole too see who it was

Jake: who is it Jessy?

Jessy: I don't know I can't see anyone

Jessy opened the door slowly there was another box this time a much larger box Jake picked it up and put it down on the table. When he opened it up inside was a dozen red roses under the roses was more photos. Each photo was of MC back in New York some where of her coming and going from her apartment. Others where of her in the park with friends but the worst was yet too come as there was one of MC inside her apartment.

Jake: right Jessy you look after MC I will be back as quickly as I can

Jessy: don't worry I'll look after her

MC: I can't take this anymore he was inside my apartment

Jake: I will find him and I will kill him for what he's done

Jake kissed MC softly and left too go get the rest of his equipment, an hour later Jake had returned with the rest of his stuff. He soon set it all up and was hard at work moving from screen too screen typing away.

Jake: I've done it

MC: what have you don't?

Jake: I've got into his computer now I need too find out what he's got on here.

Jake went through every file on the computer there was nothing of importance until he stumbled across a locked file. It didn't take him long too break his way into the file.

Once Jake had it unlocked he took a look inside, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. His hand clenched into a fist banging it hard into the desk.

MC: what is it Jake? What have you found

Jake: oh it's nothing don't worry about it

MC: Jake, please I need too know

Jake: I don't want you seeing these pictures, I need too protect you

MC: but you are doing, if you wasn't here right now if be complete mess.

Jake showed MC the photos every single one was of MC sleeping in her bed, he even had ones of her sleeping naked when the weather was really warm.

MC: Jake..I feel sick he makes me feel sick too my stomach, how did he get in my apartment with out me knowing?

Jake: have you noticed anything different in your apartment?

MC: like what?

Jake: I think he might of been putting something in your bottle of water

MC: how could he of done that they are sealed

Jake: look at the photo, the angle that he's taken it you can see a small hole in the bottle lid, he's been drugging your water.

The shock too over MCs body and she collapsed on the floor.

still extremely cranky about RTD seemingly just rocking up and turning the clock back to 2008

but...

I now see that it was absolutely the right thing to do from a business standpoint. people that have never even watched Doctor Who are talking about Doctor Who, it's trending everywhere and the people at Bad Wolf CLEARLY understand marketing better than the BBC (putting the new series on Disney+ will probably easily double the viewership numbers of Jodie's era)

I'm still extremely pissed at how everything that's happened since the announcement has stolen Jodie's thunder, they immediately posted massive news barely a day after her regeneration and all in all, it's looking like this era of the show is on the path to becoming a footnote. but I begrudgingly admit that it may have been just what the show needed. I love you Jodie, I love you Mandip, I love you John, Bradley and Tosin. and Chibnall. I love you, I was a bit harsh on you these past years, not everything you write is my thing but I connected with so much of it and at the end of the day you brought me tons of joy.

As Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor regenerated on Sunday 23rd October, it was none other than David Tennant who appeared as the Fourteenth Doctor. But what has led to the return of a much loved face?

With David Tennant and Catherine Tate reprising their roles for the 60th anniversary, it has been confirmed that they will appear in three special episodes, set to air in November 2023. The next Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, will then take control of the TARDIS, with his first episode airing over the festive period in 2023.
