Random thought:

In a world where it is customary to hold your breath while a member of royalty or higher rank is speaking

- Puffing your cheeks is a sign of respect, gratitude, etc

- Sighs, yawns, hiccups, and other forms of loud breathing are considered rude

- Ventriloquism is a respected art because it practices speaking without any sign of breathing or speech

- blue make up is popular because it makes it appear like you've held your breath for others often

- Plants are considered sacred because they purify the air that we taint with our breathing

- Masks are a popular accessory and many heavily traditionalists wear them

- ASMR is considered a horrid act of rebellion and younger generations use it to rebel

- Mouths and noses in general are considered impure

- Surgeries to make breathing more difficult or to breath without anyone noticing are common

- people take classes to breathe without anyone realizing

- Breathing exercises are as private of an event as using the washroom

- Laughter, singing, speaking loudly, and other forms of auditory pleasure are luxuries reserved for the nobility

- Body language is a more respectable form of communicating than speaking

- Speaking is someone you can only do with someone of equal or lower rank. It is offensive for someone of lower rank to speak to you.

- Rooms that get filled with toxic fumes are a punishment to teach respect. Wrong doers get locked in these rooms for up to four minutes.

- People of higher rank are considered cruel and selfish if they speak continuously for more than four minutes

- Executions are usually done through suffocation or toxic gasses

- People that breathe through their mouths are discriminated against and often end up becoming lower class, which leads to them being punished for breathing even more.

- Celebrities often buy personal machines that inject oxygen into their blood stream so they don't need to breath at all.

- Breathing/blowing on someone is considered incredibly rude. Blowing smoke at someone is an incredibly high offence.

- Edibles and syringes are more common for drug use than smoking since you're more likely to get caught

- Scented candles aren't nearly as popular. Neither is perfume. In fact things such as this are taboo. Why do you need air to smell better? Huh? Are you breathing it? Disgusting. Even scented hygiene products will earn you a few stairs.

- Knowing someone's scent is considered incredibly intimate

- The phrase: 'Don't hold your breath' is more used as permission to speak freely or like the phrase 'don't sweat the small stuff' than a sarcastic remark used when impatient

- The gesture of blowing a kiss is considered as offensive as the middle finger

- People with conditions such as Asthma have a similar role in society to people on the Autistic spectrum because they are either extremely patronized and pitied, shamed for their 'blatant disrespect', considered angels for going through so much, or are considered a sign that humanity is evolving towards not breathing

SO after saying I'd redesign the DystopianTale kiddos for,,, probably a year tbh, I've finally started doing it :D

We're starting off with the Killermare kids! Selene and Nisha are twins, and corvus is their little brother ^^

(Yes, all the kids I will be designing and talking about are canon! Questions can be asked about them but if I think answering them would spoil something I won't answer it until I feel it's safe to do so! And yes, there will be a few relationships between some of the kiddos that are technically canon, but you're allowed to ship any of them together - as long as it's legal and not weird. It's not a shortcut because it's fun though, it was specifically selected to create the feel they wanted. Also it's weird that you bring up 3D modeling as an example, because that was an ACTUAL example of a computer artform replacing a more expensive and labor intensive traditional artform. There hasn't been a Disney traditionally animated film in over a decade and for a lot of that time there weren't many 2D animated movies from anyone else, either, and a lot of the attempts to change that flopped hard, something that's only changing a little bit now. Would you put the slippery slope argument on any use of 3D modelling? Or is it a tool that artists can use for specific purposes that have to be analyzed on their individual merit instead of inherently representing the sum total of the tool's (HYPOTHETICAL!) effect on the industry

i get what you're saying about the 2d-3d stuff, but how can you deny that using ai - that's ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, not some helpful program - is worrisome not just for creators who don't use it but for every kind of creative endeavour moving forward? are you not paying attention to the way ai has begun to permeate the creative market in recent months? every app update boasts using ai.

and you know what? it starts with art because art is pretty harmless, right? make a movie or show using ai in any aspect and see what happens. but then it moves on to bigger, scarier things (and my mind goes to things like using robots for surgery and autopilot on commercial airlines - but we already have those things, so someone more knowledgable about how those things and other computer-assisted inventions differ from ai, please advise, but i already know it's different because ai is a new thing).

you seem pretty amped up to defend the use of ai so i'm curious: are you an artist? someone who uses computers for their work? or just an audience member who saw the title sequence, read that they used ai, and foolishly jumped on the that's so cool! train without thinking about the implications of ai in creative endeavours and what that may lead to for ai in our world?

It's really gross that we're not going to have a true night sky in our late age.

Pollution aside - there's currently, already, just under 5k satellites orbiting the earth. SpaceX/Starlink or whatever is sending up so many at a time- 2.2k up now, approved by the FCC to do 12k, aiming for 42k.
