part 1
*****
“I’m just saying, we should talk about it eventually.” Steve tells you, unable to conceal the smirk on his face. He stood in the doorway of your bathroom watching you evade questions he threw at you about your past hookups. Essentially he didn’t really care, he was the last person in Hawkins who should have the privilege of caring about who other people hookup with. But he was a little curious, considering your face went up in flames as soon as he brought it up. Also maybe slightly jealous.
You huff at Steve’s persistence, dropping your mascara back into the bag. “Are we going to talk about all the people you’ve hooked up with Steve?” Annoyance laced your tone at his line of questioning, but he knew your annoyance was just poorly concealed embarrassment.
The two of you were supposed to be getting ready to meet up with Robin, Eddie, Nancy, and Jonathan when he randomly asked you about the past guys you’ve been with. He was already dressed and now he was waiting for you to be, curiously watching your every step.
“We’ve talked about me for years. Everyone in Hawkins has talked about me.” He laughs, a little self deprecating. “We’ve never talked about you, and we don’t have to.” He’s moving in on you arms, caging you into the counter, shaggy hair sweeping from his forehead. “I’m just curious, not judging you.” Your eyes meet his sincere ones in the mirror, the kicked puppy look he’s been giving you since you were kids working like a charm.
“Billy Hargrove fingered me in our Anatomy class, junior year.” You start, your face red as you shift your eyes, from Steve’s shocked ones. “That was before he..”You trail off not knowing exactly how to word your next thoughts.
“Beat me to a pulp?” Steve offers, with a sardonic grin.
You nod with a sheepish smile. “Sorry.” You really mean it, too. You felt so bad after you saw Steve like that, bruised up by a guy that had been touching you.
“Not judging, remember.” He presses a kiss to the top of your head, and despite the ugly feeling of jealousy sitting in the pit of his stomach he really wanted you to continue.
“I always knew he had a thing for you.” He says, thinking of all the times he’d catch Billy staring at you. He’s pretty sure that’s half the reason he beat his ass. Steve would always have an arm around your shoulder or one of your legs in his lap.
You go back to distracting yourself as you put your eyeliner on. “And don’t be weird about this later,” You say, which gives him warning to brace himself. “Eddie took my virginity in the back of his van senior year.” You say it so casually that Steve’s sure he didn’t hear you correctly.
“Eddie?” Steve says, his face wearing his shock. “You mean like Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson?” You slap his arm at that.
“Don’t call him that.” You defend, which Steve rolls his eyes at, knowing Eddie loved the nickname.
“Our friend, Eddie? Who, we happen to be seeing tonight?” Obviously too flabbergasted to remember his no judgment rule, you quickly remind him.
“I thought this was a judgment free zone.” You murmur, too mortified to even look at him. This brings Steve back to himself.
“Okay, I’m sorry. I’m just surprised. Didn’t see that coming.” Steve’s hands are on his hips and you know he’s about two seconds from pacing a hole through a floor to wrap his head around it. You can’t help but think he’s adorable for stressing himself out about a question he asked you to answer.
“Yeah we hooked up for a while I guess, but then-” You’re cut off by your own thoughts, sheepish at the thought of your next words until you look at Steve’s puzzled expression. “Then Tommy threw that huge party and you got drunk off your ass and told me we were gonna get married and I just-” You shrug, pretending to be oh so busy with your eyelash curler. “Broke it off with him the next day. Didn’t wanna lead him on, when my head was… elsewhere.” Thinking of you. You tell Steve all this without making a morsel or eye contact. It should really scare Steve how good you are at playing casual with your feelings.
“Oh, honey.” The kiss he plants on your shoulder is sweet, as he secures his arms around you. “I really love you.” Steve whispers, and it’s not the first time he’s said it, but in this context it is. The words are so much heavier after the shift in dynamic between the two of you.
“I love you too.” Again you say it so unbothered, so naturally, that Steve would think you didn’t mean it if he couldn’t feel the way your pulse quickened.
“So, after Eddie?” He prods. You take a second like you’re contemplating telling him.
“If I tell you, you can’t tell Robin.” Steve looks confused but agrees regardless. “You can’t tell anyone.” You reiterate.
“Okayy, based on what you’ve already told me I’m not sure how it could get worse.” Steve says. “But I’m not judging.’ He adds after his little sentence.
“Last year, Tammy Thompson, once.” It’s all you say before Steve understands and his eyebrows shoot up to his hairline.
“I don’t know you at all.” He states dramatically.
“In my defense..” you began, “The only reason I didn’t tell you was because like right after I had been talking to Robin and told her that I went to the mall with her and then, she randomly mentioned that she used to have the hugest crush on her. And then she told me that the two of you hooked up before and it was weird. Because I never in a million years thought we would have any overlap.” By the time you’re done with your explanation, Steve is still looking at you in shock.
“You don’t tell me anything.” He lies, unaware of the pout that’s formed on his face.
“I tell you everything important.” You counter. You look like you’re thinking, biting your bottom lip nervously. “I didn’t think it would be a big deal for you.”
Steve is all over you before you can overthink any further, and he’d never tell you but you look like you’re about to launch into tears. “Baby it’s not a big deal… I’m just surprised I didn’t know this about you.” He finally understands some of your hesitancy about opening up about your sex life. You were scared to be judged, by him of all people.
“That was the shortest list ever, if it was me we would have been standing here for hours.” He jokes, it's another self deprecating jab and it’s one you can’t ignore.
“Stop doing that. Be nice to yourself.” You scold lightly.
“It’s true.” You knew Steve was no longer a fan of his own promiscuity. You know that he had some regrets about it, but you couldn’t for the life of you understand why.
“It’s hot.” When the words leave your lips, you find yourself turning around in his arms, tilting your head up to get a better look at him. You meet his eyes, watching the bewildered expression on his face.
“It’s really hot for me, that my boyfriend is more experienced than me. Now.. you can teach me what you know.” You elaborate. Steve’s eyes are watching your lips intently.
“Call me that again.” He requests, his voice gruff. You hold his gaze even though your entire body is on fire from the sudden intensity.
“My boyfriend.” You say softly. The first time you acknowledge him as such. He’s leaning in to kiss you when you duck under his arm, not allowing him to smudge your newly done make up or make you any later than you know you are.
“We’re late.” You remind him, grabbing your shoes.
“Fucking tease.”
*****
Your night out with Steve and your friends, paled in comparison to waking up to him. He’s holding you tightly against him. No shirt on his chest, per usual. A large hand splayed under your shirt and against your stomach. His heat is almost too much for you and you consider rolling away briefly but that’s the last thing you want.
Without ever opening your eyes or moving, you flail your legs to kick the blanket off you, only pausing when you hear a throaty chuckle vibrating beneath you. You freeze realizing you’d been caught looking silly.
“You hot?” He asks, ever so attentive. Usually when the two of you slept in bed together, there was a respectful amount of space between you, now your limbs were intertwined and your heart beats synced.
“Mhm.” You hum, still half sleep. You wouldn’t know it but Steve woke up about thirty minutes before you and he was also feeling like the bed had turned into a sauna overnight, but he’d rather burn to death than wake you up.
Still groggy from sleep, you whine when Steve removes himself from you to turn on the fan and remove the covers the rest of the way off of you. Much to your relief.
“I’m gonna go take a shower.” He tells you, letting you know he wasn’t coming back to bed. You were unsure of how he did that. Getting up as soon as he woke up. You were more of a wake up and rot in bed for two more hours kind  of girl.
You hadn’t realized, you’d drifted back off to sleep until Steve’s waking you up. “Wanna get up for me, so we can spend some time together?” He offers.
“We could go play basketball at the gym.” He tries again when you don’t budge. This has you perking up slightly. For a reason unknown to him, every time, even in high school, if he mentioned anything to do with basketball you would be there. At first he thought you wanted to play, especially since you proved yourself to be useful on the court, but when he mentioned it to you, you looked disturbed at the idea.
You’re rolling out of bed without answering, but he knows that is your answer and you’re just adjusting to the morning again. So he goes on making sure to cook you a good breakfast.
When you finally emerge from the bathroom, freshly showered you find Steve behind the stove looking very boyfriendish. You can’t help circling your arms around his waist as you inhale his scent.
“Morning’” There’s soft music playing from his phone but other than that the house is quiet.
“Good Morning. Baby.” You grin into his shoulder, feeling oddly domestic..
After eating breakfast with Steve, you made your way to the gym. You’re stopped a million times because this is Hawkins and everyone knows Steve, the once golden boy basketball star, and you who graduated top of your class with a long list of extracurriculars. But most people still only referred to you when speaking about Steve and that was okay with you.
Playing with Steve is never actually about winning for you. The win is seeing Steve like this. Sweaty. In his zone. So fucking focused. You were competitive everywhere else, but on the basketball court, you were all about Steve. He played less now that you were older, so when he offered you couldn’t help but jump at the chance.
You’re barely paying attention to the game because Steve is everywhere. You’re losing really badly even though he’s taking it easy on you. You don’t care.
“Where’s your mind at, honey?” He asks, dribbling the ball he just stole from you and shooting it. You pretend to be frustrated, pretend like you actually care if you lose, like you’re actually giving your best. Steve knows better, but he doesn’t push it, figuring you were just tired still.
When a group of guys Steve played basketball with came into the gym, begging ‘king’ steve to join a game with them, Steve almost declined until you made some comment about being tired and going to sit on the bleachers for a break.
You knew the real show was about to start, and that he’d love a chance to show the guys from high school how he’s still got it. Steve’s gearing all the way up when they start picking teams, and you know based on the line up it’s going to be an aggressive game.
You’re dazed while you watch him play for the next hour. He’s concentrating hard, yelling out an instruction to his other teammates, in charge, sweating so hard that he keeps lifting up his shirt to wipe sweat off his forehead and revealing that happy trail. Your composure is crumbling quickly.
And you don’t realize the way you’re looking at him even though you know you’re thirsting hard. He sees though. About halfway through the game when he’s checking on you during a time out. You give him your water bottle to drink out of even though you hate sharing germs, run your fingers through his sweaty hair, and give him two kisses despite the fact that he knows he tastes like sweat, and that you have an audience.
After that he realizes how hard you’re watching him and he knows he has to show out for the end of the game. Everytime he glances at you, you look so invested. Like you used to in high school when you suddenly became interested in basketball again after a long hiatus during your pre teen years. Except now there’s a new detail that Steve has noticed. You’re squeezing your thighs together so hard, he thinks you’re about to burst. He can’t help but wonder how long you’ve been that way and if that was the reason you’re so intrigued with basketball, with no interest in playing.
Steve made sure to win. Made sure he earned every filthy thing he was going to do to you. When he walks up to you, you don’t realize that you’ve been caught. Not when he’s dragging you behind him, not even when he opens the door to the men’s locker room, ushering you inside. It’s when he locks the door with you against it that your brain finally kickstarts into realizing what’s happening.
“Steve we’re gonna get caught-” You start but your voice is lodged in your throat when his fingers dip into your shorts. You know what he finds when he does, and if you didn’t the smirk on his face would have told you.
“All this from watching me play, honey.” The condescending lilt to his voice, has your brain turning to mush in the best way. That mixed with the way he’s running his knuckles over your  folds.
“Steve”  You try again, more firm when you hear voices passing from outside the door, but your voice just turns into a whimper, as you try to cope with the way he’s touching you.
“Shut up for me, so I can focus.” He shushes, yanking your shorts down. You gasp when he does so, but step out of them nonetheless when he gestures for you to do so. This is his first time touching you like this since you dry humped him for all he was worth in the family video parking lot and you’re curious about where he’s going with this.
He grabs your panties, balling them up in his hand before coming back up to you. “Open your mouth.” You do without a second thought, letting him stuff the underwear into your mouth.
“Fuck you’re a good girl.” He notes before dropping to his knees. “Prettiest pussy, I’ve ever seen.” And he’s not talking to you really but to your pussy. He throws one of your legs over his shoulder before going in, licking and slurping at you like a starved man.
You’re pretty sure it’s the hottest thing you’ve ever seen. He’s so sloppy about it and you love every second.
When he leans down a bit to fuck your hole open with his tongue, his nose nudges your clit. Your moans and whimpers are concealed by the makeshift gag, but the way your hand flys to Steve’s hair to hold him in place lets him know exactly the effect he’s having on you.
He chuckles when he feels you clenching up on his tongue, already so close and he’s just barely touched you. He presses you deeper into the door when he feels your knees buckling, moaning into your cunt at the feeling of you tugging his hair.
Steve wishes he didn’t need you to be quiet. He wishes he could hear every single one of your whimpers and moans. Hear you calling him ‘Stevie’ in that whiny little voice, but he also knows he doesn’t want anyone else to hear you. Not when you’re all his.
You tumble over the edge pretty quickly, tears cascading down your face, which is the first thing Steve sees when he stands back up, licking his lips. He’s rubbing your overstimulated clit, when he pulls the damp panties out your mouth, releasing all the built up sounds from you.
“Aw, honey.” He coos, wiping away the tears with your panties. He’s fucking filthy. He kisses you after that, so tenderly that you almost forget how he’s toying with you.
“Stevie..” There it is. Steve thinks to himself. He kisses you again trying to hush your moans.
“You like watching me play, sweetheart? That turns you on?” He asks, still massaging your clit.
“So much.” You admit. Steve wants to laugh at how gone you are, but he’s affected just as much as you.
“Not very nice, that you didn’t tell me.” He says.
“M’sorry, Stevie.” You’re getting too loud and Steve has to shush you as he hears voices in the hallway, suddenly remembering where you are.
“It’s okay baby, you gonna cum for me?” As soon as he suggests it, he knows it's coming and his lips are back on yours, silencing your moans.
******
“Dude, why are you staring at me?”  Steve asks you, his face red. You stared at him all the way home from the gym. You stared at him when you got home and it had been an hour later, both of you showered and supposed to watch a movie, and you were still staring.
“I just think you’re kinda rude.” You say.
“I’m rude?” Steve asks, flabbergasted wondering what he could have possibly done in such a short period of time. His mouth hanging open.
‘“Yes because I have had, I want to say maybe like three- four orgasms with other people, in the span of multiple years and you’re telling me this whole time you knew how to do that twice in the span of not even like ten minutes.” Steve’s once red face was now taken over by a cocky grin.
“Like dude. How did you do that? I’ve never done that before.” You can’t even bring yourself to care that you’re inflating his huge ego. You’re genuinely confused and you’re thinking it has to be witchcraft.
“It’s easy when you’re that turned on.” He tells you, but you shake your head.
“I’m always that turned on.” You dismiss, making him laugh at how genuine you sound when you say it.
“Always?” He asked, to which you nod.
“You walk around here shirtless every morning. Of course I am.” You say simply, and Steve can’t help but be surprised at your sudden frankness.  “And even then I can’t even make myself cum twice. Especially not that fast.”
“So, let me get this right.” Steve starts with a mischievous grin. “You’re saying when you play with yourself, after seeing me shirtless you can’t make yourself cum twice?” He’s teasing you for your slip up and you know it. You can’t help rolling your eyes.
“That’s what I said, Steven.” You say playfully, your eyes narrowed.
His eyes narrow back at you before he’s tackling you to the couch, tickling you. Laughing at your shrieks, and the sight of you trying to wriggle away from him.
“I’m sorry!” You let out in between gasps for air and laughter. When Steve finally lets up you pinch him for being unfair.
When you finally catch your breath, you realize Steve is staring at you with a look that can only be described as adoring.
“Here you go, again.” You say with pretend exasperation, and shaking your head. You’re only teasing him, so that you yourself don’t turn into a pile of mush like always. Steve rolls his eyes at you, realizing just how much he’s missed your banter, these last couple days. You’d gone shy on him, when getting used to the changes in your relationship and he was glad to see that your sass was back in full swing.
“Come give me a kiss.” He insists, gesturing to his lap.
“Why are you always trying to get me into your lap?’ You ask before settling down on top of him anyway. Nothing sexual about it, as you press a quick kiss to Steve’s lips before trying to move again.
“I like you here.” He says before pulling you back down on top of him to get another one. “If that’s how you rush touching yourself, no wonder you can’t make yourself cum.” He jabs, even though that’s not what you said.
You’re about to respond, when you hear someone clear their throat. “Mom!” you yelp in surprise, practically flying off of Steve’s lap.
“Well this is an interesting way to be welcomed home.” Your mom looks almost amused at the display in front of her. The other part is as shocked as you feel, knowing she was home way earlier than she was supposed to be.
“How long were you standing there?” You ask, mortified, You’re seconds away from having the worst meltdown of your life.
“Long enough to know that you should invest in a vibrator. “ She goads, sending Steve a look. He’s redder than a tomato, knowing that the woman who’s known him since before he was ten heard him say that.
Your mom is way chiller than she should be, considering the circumstances, but she’s always been that way. Unbothered and entertained.  If that was your dad standing there, you both know this would be an entirely different story.
‘Oh my goodness. Kill me now.” You mutter dramatically.
“No need for theatrics. I knew last week when you came home with that hickey on your neck. You didn’t even bother to try to cover it up either. Where’s the respect?” She jokes , as you hide your face behind your hands at your carelessness.
You’re sure that life cannot get much worse than this.
“Good for you guys. But no and I mean it..” she started seriously “no funny business at all, on my couch.” When you groan she doubles downs. “I’m serious that couch was expensive.”
“Okay mom, we got it, thank you.” You say pulling Steve up from the couch and towards your room, too mortified to make eye contact with her.
Once you and Steve make it to your room both of your horrified faces meet… and you’re doubling over in deranged laughter.

Belly button piercings. Steddie x female reader. Smut. Blurb.
I’m so sorry this is basically not what you asked for but I tried!! Hope this is okay! I really got in ‘the zone’ and wrote this all in one lmao!
You first noticed them when you were working, it was a Thursday afternoon, and you were waiting for your next appointment to arrive. Your client wanted a belly button piercing, something you’d done a million times in your job as a body piercer, it was second nature to you now. Especially since you have so many metal adjustments to yourself too, several facial piercings that happen to catch people’s eyes. You get complimented on your vertical labret often, but your favourite was the piercing that only you were allowed to see at the moment, single life really was keeping you from excitement.
They stood shyly in the doorway, the dark haired boy seemingly more confident than the brunette. He stood a little taller, had some ear piercings himself and as he took off his jacket, handing it to the other guy, you noticed his tattoos. You had a few of your own, some of which you’d actually given yourself. The long haired guy fiddled with his rings, he basically had one on each finger, the skull one catching your eye the most. It was cool, you make a mental note to see if you can find one of those for yourself.
The more metal looking of the men spoke, “Hi. I’m Eddie. I’m here for my piercing?” He had a great voice, he definitely was confident like you had expected. You offer him a friendly smile and show him out back to your studio after taking his payment, giving him his consent form and running him through the aftercare. “Can my boyfriend come too?” He questioned shyly, holding the brunette man’s hand behind his back. You nod and laugh, assuming he can’t be afraid of needles if he’s got so many tattoos. “Follow me, both of you are welcome, there’s always room for an emotional support person. Even if you are a pretty metal head or a…” You stood still and looked him up and down. “Frat boy?” You laugh, hoping to get the same reaction from them, it always helped to make jokes to ease your clients nerves.
In the kindest possible way they looked stupid, like they’d seen a ghost. Eddie’s jaw had dropped, he’s practically drooling at the compliment and his boyfriend? His cheeks are bright red. He nods dumbly, like every single thought in his pretty head had been knocked out by your comment.
“I don’t need!- whatever. This is Steve.” Eddie shakes his head and chuckles at your joke. “Thank you for letting me watch, I kinda wanted to see how you do this whole piercing thing, I’m tempted to get one myself.” Steve spoke finally, his voice a lot softer than Eddie’s. His face was flushed, embarrassed by his own words.
You mark up Eddie’s belly button, making sure the lining you drew was straight and offer him a look in the mirror. As he stands upright, staring at the pen marks on his midriff you notice them for the second time that day. But it wasn’t just them, it was how they looked at you. Their eyes followed you, ever since they stood hunched over in the doorway of the waiting room. Their eyes never left you, dancing around your face and more recently, your pants.
You’d been ogled over before, sort of part and parcel of the job. Men had come into your studio just to ask you if you had any “naughty” piercings or assume you must be freaky in bed because you’re tatted and pierced. But you didn’t mind the way they were looking at you. Almost like you were an enigma, a paradox.
“Stevie here’s acting scared but don’t let him fool you, he likes a bit of pain.” Eddie giggles over his own words whilst Steve shoots him a look, giving him daggers. You noticed the way Steve blushed again, it’s adorable really. His cheeks flushed at everything. “Is that so? Well the belly button piercing is just a little pinch really, the clamp is the worst part. Just breathe through it and it’s over. I promise, I’ll be gentle. To you that is, might have to be a little more rough with this one huh? He seems insistent on embarrassing you doesn’t he, sweetheart?” You motion to Eddie, wiggling the capped needle around in your fingers. Steve threw his head back in laughter, squeezing Eddie’s hand in his own, “t-thanks.” He stutters through his words, you could definitely see this guy being a submissive. His entire nature is submissive. Your mind escapes you as you imagine what he’d look like tied to your bed. Would Eddie join you in dominating Steve or would you have them both at your mercy?
That was a hell of a way to break the ice, finding out your client’s boyfriend is a pain slut definitely was a new one. Fantasising about your clients even more so, but they are so endearing.
“Okay you ready?” You glance up at Eddie, he nods and you position your needle. “And 3, 2, 1, aaaand done.” You feed the needle through his belly button, you remove the needle and leave the plastic tube inside the freshly pierced hole. “And here’s the stingy part.” You mutter as you thread his chosen jewellery through the plastic tube of the needle and twists the ball on top, wiping and sterilising his belly button. “How was it?” Steve questioned, still looking at Eddie through his fingers across his eyes. “Completely fine babe, princess here has magic fingers.” He shoots you a smirk in an attempt to fluster you back for earlier.
“Sure do. Are you up next Steve? I have time to slot you in now, I’ve got a free hour.” Inquiring as clean up your work space once more. “N-no. Maybe next time.” He responds with the weakest smile you’ve ever seen. He’s scared, if any of the goosebumps on his skin suggest, that’s understandable. Poor thing, he’s a completely blank canvas and a piercing is a pretty big commitment to make. Eddie smiles, whispering something in-audible to Steve which of course left him with a flushed face again.
You squat down to your drawers to reach a form, and as you bend over you hear a groan. Well more of a grunt, you smirk whilst your back is turned. These boys were too cute. Wondering which of them you could make yours first, maybe take the easy frightened little lamb and watch his protector follow. What sounds would they make? You could break down the act that Eddie puts up and make him melt in your hands? Was the act he puts up all a ploy, was Steve the top? So many questions run through your mind, but you knew something for certain. This was precious. These boys were precious. Behind you, you hear some giggling. Still searching for the feedback form you have to leave it up to your imagination, but it ate at you. What were they giggling about? You hadn’t imagined the handcuffs attached to Eddie’s belt, maybe he was teasing him by showing Steve what he’d be tied with that night? Maybe they’d pointed at you pretty ass bend over so nicely on display for them and daydreamed about having you in those cuffs?
You twist your face over your shoulder to face them as you pick up the form, your elbows squeezing together ‘accidentally’. Steve shys away from looking but you can tell he wants to, it was obvious. His eyes darted around the room, from the mirror across from you, and back to your chest. Whereas Eddie? His jaw was on the floor, his vision transfixed on your chest.
“Okay, well in that case when you’re ready I need you, Eddie to fill in this form about how your experience was here today. We give them to all our clients.”
You commanded, handing him the form and a pen, watching as he filled it out pretty quickly. It was cute, through the whole time you’d spent together, Steve hadn’t let go of Eddie’s hand. Following him around like a lost dog, but he still couldn’t stop his eyes from moving over you. Eddie squeezes Steve’s hand again and he looks down at his lap. Oh. Was it the pain of the piercing or your body that made that tent in his pants appear? Steve bites his lip and reaches out to palm his hand over Eddie’s bulge. He squirms and swats at his boyfriend’s hands. Oh god could they get any cuter, flustered and bratty? The things you could do.
He shuffles his jacket across his waist, hoping you hadn’t seen it. Handing you the form back, you walk them both back into the waiting room. You sign the form to prove you had administered the piercing, handing it back to Eddie to take his copy home for safe keeping. Chewing on your pen lid, you giggle as the leave your studio. You wonder how long it will be until they read the note you left them on the paper.
“Let me know if you want that piercing Stevie, I think you’d both suit little matching belly bars. The cutest boys. If I’ve read this wrong ignore me and I apologise but if I haven’t? Call me. *phone number*.”
Well you’ve had worse days at work.

Porcelain Steve - Part 6
Part One🦇Part Two🦇Part Three🦇Part Four🦇Part Five🦇Part Six🦇Part Seven🦇Part Eight🦇Part Nine
Even though he's expecting company, Eddie still jumps and yelps when his front door flies open without so much as a knock, revealing Dustin and Will.
"I know I said to let yourselves in, but a warning knock would have been nice," Eddie shoots them a glare, not bothering to stand from the couch where he'd been pretending to watch whatever terrible daytime movie was playing.
"Sorry," Will apologizes sheepishly while Dustin just laughs.
"Which of your moms dropped you off? If it's Claudia, I'm filing a complaint about how you were raised."
"Har har," Dustin says, swinging his backpack off and knelling down to unzip and dig into it. "We biked here."
"Lucky you, then. The complaint will wait."
Dustin wrestles a blanket from his backpack. Unwrapping it reveals Steve, hair rumpled but otherwise unharmed. "Alright. Delivered safely. We gotta go meet El and Mike now but we'll see you on Saturday, right?"
Eddie sets Steve on the couch, angled towards the TV. "Yeah. I get the feeling if I don't show for the barbeque that Joyce will show up here and drag me there by my ear."
"She would," Will confirms with an easy shrug. The boys turn to leave before Will exclaims, "Oh! Almost forgot!" before digging into his pocket for something, turning around to give it to Eddie.
"What?"
"El and Steve spoke again. He had a lot of things to say. I spent a good portion of the last three days writing down everything as El repeated it to me. This is your letter," he says, having successfully pulled out what looked to be a folded piece of paper out of his pocket.
"Oh," Eddie takes it, and realizes it's not just one folded piece of paper, but three. "Wow."
"Seems you are Steve's second favorite," Dustin grins at him from the doorway.
"You are first, I assume?"
"No. Robin is. She got five pages."
That tracks, actually. Eddie's not surprised Robin got the most pages.
Soon enough, the boys are off and Eddie returns to the couch, pulling his legs up to sit crisscross. "Alright, Stevie, let's see what you have to say."
He unfolds the pages completely and is met with Will's now familiar penmanship scrawled across the sheets of wide rule paper that has clearly been ripped from a composition notebook. He's seen Will's handwriting plenty over this last year, quickly scribbling notes during DnD sessions and on the little item cards Will makes himself to hand out when he DMs.
Will's handwriting isn't always the neatest, but this looks like Will took time, wanted his writing to be legible. Flipping through the papers he sees it is two pages, front and back, of a letter, and the third page is a list of questions in a different, neater handwriting. He gets the feeling that Will probably didn't paraphrase anything. How many people got letters? How much of Will and El's time was devoted to doing just this?
Eddie feels emotional over this, misty-eyed and a lump in his throat, and he hasn't even read the damn letter yet.
"Shit, Stevie, do you even realize how loved you are?" Eddie asks out loud, turning to look at Porcelain Steve like he might answer him this time. Blank hazel eyes stare forward. Eddie shakes his head, to clear away his thoughts, and gets to reading. Not out loud, because he doesn't want Steve to hear how wet his voice will sound.
Eddie,
I guess the first thing I want to say is thank you. I was kind of freaking out when I first woke up like this. It was calming, that day on the lawn, after Robin and Nancy found me. You were so chill and just chatted my ear off like you would have if I were, like, there. I mean, there there and not like, doll-there, if you get what I mean.
Shit, man, being stuck like this would have been a hell of a lot worse without you, I'm certain. Everyone's been great, of course, and, like, no offense meant, Will and El, but you act most normal. Helps me feel, well, I don't know how, exactly. Describing emotions is not something I'm like, good at. Robin's great, too, but she catastrophizes, you know? And since I can't speak back, she can get herself pretty worked up about this and I hate that. Hate that I can't do anything to help her.
Shit. This isn't your issue. Don't include that. No, wait, do. Sorry, El. (It is here, off in the margin, that Will has added 'I wrote everything word for word. Enjoy the asides to El and me.) Hanging out with you helps her, I think. She seems less anxious on days we spend with you. So, I guess, I also want to thank you for that. For being there for Robin when I can't.
Eddie has to pause there because he had no idea. Robin has been a grounding force for him this whole time. He had no idea he was doing the same for her. She never said, or let on... well, that was probably her goal and now Steve's spilled the beans.
This is getting easier to say, even if I still don't know how to feel about the other two people who are going to be privy to everything said, or I guess from your end, written here. (Here, Will has transcribed a conversation they seemed to have had in the middle of writing this up.) Oh. He means us. - El Yes. Don't worry Steve, we'll do our best to forget everything you've said once it's written down. - Will Steve laughed and says thanks. - El I appreciate that but- well, being honest there's some things I want to say but I don't want anyone else to hear. Those conversations are better left face to face, anyway. So, uhh, what else did I want to say?
Oh! Yeah, I told Robin she could drive around the Bimmer, so she can have a car while I'm- so she doesn't have to bike everywhere but knowing her she probably won't take me up on that offer. Maybe you can talk her into it? Or, maybe she'll be willing to drive your van around and you can take the bimmer.
"Jesus, Stevie, can't you just be okay with existing?" Eddie says it under his breath and tenses instantly. For a moment, he forgot that Steve was right there on the couch with him, could hear him. Now he has to explain himself because Steve's already heard, and without the context of how Eddie really means those words, they can sound judgmental. "Shit. Sorry. I just read the part about your car and, dude, you just don't know how to not try and be helpful, huh? I bet it's destroying you on the inside that you can't do anything. But Steve, you gotta know, we don't care about you because you're useful."
Steve, of course, can't reply, so Eddie goes back to the letter.
Uh, what else was there? Oh! Yeah! I don't get migraines here. Or, in this body? Or, whatever it is. I haven't had one since this happened. Also, no hearing issues. Though I find myself wishing to be completely deaf sometimes. I get that Max can listen to Kate Bush for a week straight, but I'd like a little variety. God, what I wouldn't give to listen to the Top 40 again. Don't say anything, Munson. I can already see your judgmental face at my music taste. Unlike you, I have the ability to like multiple types of music. The Top 40 AND that one song from, uhh, shit. Might not have migraines or hearing issues at the moment, but the memory is still as it was. Which means it is shit. That one song by that metal band where their name sounds like it's metal? You know who I mean. (In the margin, Will has just written five little question marks in a row ?????)
"The band you were thinking of, it's Metallica," Eddie says.
Not important. But, uh, the reason for telling you this. I was hoping you might smuggle me to a show the next time your band plays at the Hideout? Last time I tried to go it was too loud and gave me a migraine, you remember, but I think that I could listen to your whole show like this. We might as well take advantage of the perks of this shit situation, right? So, uh, I wouldn't mind if you did that. Or, like, had Robin or someone else bring me. Whichever.
Actually, wait, I lied, I do care which way. I've already had them pen down Robin's letter, so you'll have to pass this on, but I want Robin to take me. So, I can also watch the show, not just listen. That was the part I liked most, when I went last time, before I had to leave. Wait. Scratch that. Ask Argyle. Other than you, he seems like the only person willing to be caught holding me in public, mostly because I don't think he even knows how to be embarrassed. Jesus that was such a weird sentence to say. Holding me in public. Such a weird thing to experience, too.
Uh, anyway, I think that's it for now. Thanks for everything, Eddie.
"I think you're handling this loss of bodily autonomy rather well, Steve. This letter is a lot more positive than the one I would have written if our roles were reversed," Eddie says with a sigh. He can't help but wonder what Steve would have said in this letter if it hadn't had to be filtered through two teenagers first.
He looks to the last page, the list of questions, and is surprised to see that, mixed in with questions about which sports team is winning (he is not going to watch Sportsball for Steve. There has to be a line drawn somewhere and this is it. He will ask Wayne about it later and hate the glee he sees in his uncle's eyes because now he's going to have to pretend to like sports for the unforeseeable future) and for honest updates about their friends are questions about Eddie's campaign that he's rambled on about since Steve can't escape. Steve wants spoilers, wants to know what Eddie has planned.
Steve has actually been listening. He'd been operating on the assumption Steve just tunes him out when he gets going, unable to stop his brain to mouth filter when it comes to talking about Dungeons and Dragons and his current campaign.
"I'm at your list of questions now. I can't answer anything about sports, and don't think I'm unaware of how you asked me and not Lucas. I see what you are doing and I'm not going to fall for it. So, your first non-sportsball question here; How is Dustin doing, really? Well, that's a whole thing but overall, okay."

Thirsty Thursday: Grey Sweatpants
NSFW images below the cut, 18+
“Munson! What the actual fuck are these?” Robin yells from the kitchen, and Eddie can’t help giggling to himself as he swings his body through the doorway.
“Those are a suggestion for Steve.” He waggles his eyebrows, tongue out. “I get that you are uninterested in the male form, but you’ve seen how Steve fills out his jeans.” Eddie hums, eyes closed as he thinks about his boyfriend in his acid-washed Levi’s.
Tumblr media
“And I just want to encourage him to be comfortable. Let ‘Little Stevie’ stretch out.”
“And you’re doing that by giving him cookies with little dicks on them?”
“Yep!” Eddie says, popping the P. “I just want my baby to wear his sweats around the apartment so I can watch it swing.” He picks up a cookie, nibbles at the cuff-end.
Tumblr media
“I live here too! And I very much do not want to watch ‘Little Stevie’ swinging!”
Eddie holds up three fingers. “It’ll only happen when you’re out. Or if we’re in our bedroom. Scout’s honor.”
“You weren’t a scout.”
“It’s about the intention.”
“But grey sweatpants? Seriously? Why not just get him naked?”
“Anticipation! Think about Chrissy wearing an oversized t-shirt and sometimes you can see her panties when she raises her arms.”
“It’s more about seeing her nips through the—Ohhhh. Yeah, got it.”
Just then, the door to the apartment swings open. “Babe! I’ve still got another bag of groceries, come grab these!”
“Coming,” Eddie shouts, shoving the remains of the cookie into his mouth.
Eddie jogs to meet Steve, taking the bags from him, chewing even as he leans in for a kiss.
Steve laughs and leans away. “You’re covered in crumbs!” He uses his thumb to wipe at Eddie’s mouth, finally kissing him sweetly.
“I got cookies from the bakery you like.”
That earns Eddie a second kiss, this one deeper. “Almond sugar?”
“Always.” One more fast kiss. “Anything in here that I should worry about melting?” Eddie asks, gesturing to the bags.
“Actually, yeah… And I need to get that last bag. Oh, hey, Robbie.”
“You two are so gross. Did you get more peanut butter? I wanna make a pb&j before I have to leave.”
“Yeah, it’s in one of those,” Steve says pointing to the bags in Eddie’s arms. Then he runs out the door and back down to his car.
Robin steps up and takes a bag from Eddie and struts back into the kitchen. Eddie follows, and together they put away the groceries.
When Steve returns with the final bag, Eddie takes it from him and shoos him off to go get comfortable. “I’ll bring you a cookie in a minute.”
Steve smiles, kissing Eddie slowly, hands migrating down to cup his ass. “Thanks, babe.”
Eddie puts the remaining groceries away while Robin eats her sandwich. “Best of luck in your weird sex endeavors,” she says with. salute before popping the last bite in her mouth.
She pats him on the chest, then grabs her backpack and heads out the door.
Eddie salutes back, picking up a cookie and walking out to the living room. He stops in his tracks, eyes zeroing in on Steve, sitting on their squishy couch, changed into his sweats.
Tumblr media
“Oh my god, it’s happening,” Eddie breathes, freezing in place.
“Ed? You okay?” Steve asks with a gentle smile, spreading his thighs as he leans forward.
“Yeah… Feels like I might have predicted the future.” Eddie shakes his head and hurries over, dropping next to Steve.
He holds out the cookie, and Steve takes it, a little confused. “What are you talking about—oh, okay. That’s a penis. On my cookie.”
“I like when you wear sweats. I like your dick.”
“I am very aware of that.” Steve grins and lifts the cookie to his mouth, biting it in half.
“So, now I’ve got a dick in my mouth, maybe you could…” Steve hooks a thumb around his waistband and tugs it out, showing off the trail of hair down from his navel and the complete lack of underwear beneath his sweats.
“Yeah, yes!” Eddie blurts dropping to the floor.
He kneels between Steve’s legs, hands on his thighs. “You sure you just want that tiny cock in your mouth? Or something a little bigger?”
“How about you blow me, and then I’ve got somewhere else to put your cock, baby,” Steve says, stroking his cheek.
Eddie nods enthusiastically. “Please.”
“Good boy.”

this place is such great motivation for anyone trying to move the fuck away from hibernation
chapter 8: i'm homesick also on ao3 all chapters masterpost rated e
🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰🧰
Eddie woke up to drool.
Which should probably be more concerning, but considering he had a teething baby, he was used to a little drool.
The part that was confusing was that his baby was asleep in her crib in the bedroom next to him.
The drool on his chest was Steve’s.
Oh, he would never live this down.
Eddie let his fingers ghost through the strands of Steve’s hair, glancing at the clock to see that it was nearly seven in the morning. They were supposed to call the realtor at eight.
Eddie needed to be on the road by lunch so that Mia would nap for most of the ride back to Hawkins.
The urge to ignore all of that was strong, but they couldn’t ignore their future. Not now that it seemed like they might have a chance.
“Stevie, it appears there’s a leak in the apartment,” Eddie said softly, not wanting to startle him.
Steve’s head shifted, his nose rubbing against the drool on Eddie’s chest followed by a groan.
“Disgusting,” Steve said. “Sorry about that.”
“It’s fine. You sleep okay?” Eddie tightened his arms around Steve, not wanting to lose this moment quite yet.
“Yeah. Loved this,” Steve poked his side and kissed his chest. “Could definitely get used to this.”
“Well, if we don’t get to the showing, we may not have it anytime soon.” Eddie nudged Steve off of him so he could get up. “Mia must still be asleep so I’m gonna take a quick shower before she decides to bless us with her presence.”
“No rush, baby. I got her if she wakes up.”
Eddie kissed Steve’s forehead. “Thanks, sweetheart.”
When Eddie walked into the kitchen, fully dressed and halfway packed already, Robin was sitting at the table holding Mia while Steve cut up fruit at the counter.
“My goodness, Mia, it looks like you’ve made a new best friend,” Eddie said as he kissed the top of her head.
“Dada!”
Steve dropped the knife in his hand and turned to them. Robin’s eyes nearly bugged out of her head as she looked between Mia and Eddie.
Eddie was pretty sure his heart was on the floor.
“Did she just-“ Robin started to ask, only to be interrupted by Mia kicking and yelling it again.
“Dadadadadada!” Mia squealed out.
“Yeah, I’m dada,” Eddie said, scooping her into his arms and spinning her around.
“Mama! Dada!” She exclaimed. He could feel Steve come up behind him and watched his hand go to her back, covering his own.
“Someone’s so talkative this morning,” Steve said. “You were so excited to see your dada, weren’t you?”
“Dada! Dada!”
Eddie was crying, Steve was crying, even Robin was trying to hide a tear that slipped out as Mia kept repeating her new word.
Steve kissed his cheek, then Mia’s, before going back to what he was doing.
"So what time are you going to the house?” Robin asked them.
Eddie looked away from Mia to look at the clock. “Hopefully within the next hour. We gotta try to get on the road.”
Robin nodded once. “I’m off to work. I’m glad you came to visit, Eddie. And I’m glad I got to get to know Mia. She’s probably my favorite future roommate.”
“Yeah, right. Until she cries all night from a fever,” Eddie rolled his eyes. “Or until she takes up all of Steve’s attention.”
“Oh, I’ve been begging for someone to take up some of his attention. He’s very needy, ya know.” She gave Eddie a quick side hug and touched Mia’s shoulder. “You guys be safe going back and make sure you call when you get home so I don’t have to watch Steve pace a hole into the carpet.”
“I wouldn’t do that!” Steve said as he moved fruit he’d been cutting up onto the high chair tray.
“Uh huh.” Robin grabbed her small purse from the hook by the doorway out of the kitchen. “See you guys!”
“See ya!” Steve and Eddie called at the same time.
“Buh!” Mia yelled out.
“I cannot believe you finally said it,” Eddie said to Mia in awe as he set her in the high chair. “I’ve been waiting for you to finally say Dada for two months and you decide to do it here.”
Steve set a plate of toast in front of Eddie and kissed the top of his head. “I’m gonna go shower so we can head out. Eat.”
“Sir, yes, sir.” Eddie saluted. Mia let out a laugh as Steve rolled his eyes and walked out of the kitchen. “Alright, princess. We’ve gotta eat up so we can be big and strong and walk around this house that we might move into.”
“Mama?” Mia turned her head to look for Steve, then looked back at Eddie with a frown. “Mama.”
“Mama’s in the bath. He’ll be right back. You eat your bananas and grapes.”
When Steve was done, Eddie went to finish packing up the last of their things, looking around at the place he’d hoped would be their new home. He couldn’t help feeling a sense of loss still, even knowing that they were working on finding a new home for all of them. He’d wanted this to work so badly.
“You ready, baby?” Steve asked from the door, holding Mia in one arm, diaper bag slung over the other shoulder.
“Yeah. Are you?”
“Sure am.”
******
The house was perfect.
Eddie felt like crying the moment he stepped onto the front porch. Even with the broken parts, even with the chipped paint along one side of the house, even with the slightly overgrown front yard, it was perfect.
The inside was even better, already mostly done in the ways he’d always imagined a house with Mia to be. The bathroom that needed work was still better than the one he currently had in the trailer.
The backyard needed to be fenced in, but he knew they could work on that over the next year before Mia was big enough to outrun them.
He kept sharing looks with Steve, going room to room as the realtor spoke about the natural lighting in the bedrooms and double sink in the master bathroom. They hadn’t made it obvious they were together— they weren’t stupid —but it was pretty clear the realtor caught on to them being together.
“You mentioned another person moving in?” she asked when they got to the last bedroom.
“Yes, my best friend would be moving in for a bit to help with the bills,” Steve offered. “Is that a problem?”
“Not at all. Quite a few homes surrounding the city are mixed family homes just due to the cost of living. My only suggestion is to keep all utilities in your name so that if they move out, it doesn’t become a hassle of removing them from everything.” She opened the door to the final bedroom. “I assume this would probably be their room. It looks out at the backyard and the street behind you, which is still a part of this neighborhood and isn’t a very busy road.”
“Yeah, she’ll like this room.” Steve smiled. “And you mentioned the current owners are already moving out next week?”
“Yes, they’ve already bought another home in the city. As you can imagine, that’s quite a financial strain and they’re very willing to get a deal done as soon as possible, even if it means a lower offer.”
“Could we have a minute?” Steve asked. The realtor nodded and left the room, closing the door behind her. Steve turned to Eddie, who was setting Mia down on the floor to explore. “So?”
“It’s perfect, Stevie.”
Steve closed the distance between them, wrapped his arms around Eddie’s waist, and kissed him softly. “It is, isn’t it?”
Eddie nodded, brushing the hair away from Steve’s face. “I can picture everything here. I see you setting up a sprinkler in the backyard and running through it with Mia. I see us having family game night at the kitchen table. I see us sitting on the porch while Mia draws on the driveway with chalk. I see it all.”
“Me too. I want all that with you. Here. Can we?”
“We should. Do you think we can make an offer today?” Eddie turned to see Mia trying to pull herself up by the window ledge. “Maybe by the time I get back to Hawkins, we’ll have an answer.”
“Yeah, Eds. I’ll go tell her.”
“We’re really doing this?” Eddie was hesitant to truly believe this was happening, especially after how quickly the weekend had turned into an unknown future. “We’re buying a house?”
“We’re buying this house.”
“Wayne’s gonna be insufferable. I’m gonna have to listen to him talk about the foundation’s integrity for the next three months.”
“It’s already been inspected. I promise, it passed.”
“It may have passed with a professional. It has not passed with Wayne.”
Steve snorted. “Well, he can come inspect anytime. He can have a copy of the key, even.”
“Don’t offer that. He has the worst timing in the world.” Eddie glanced over to Mia, who was now standing at the window, banging the ledge as she used it to hold her weight. “Mia seems to like it here.”
Steve looked over and smiled. “Yeah, she looks happy. Do you think you’d be happy here? With me?”
“I know I would be, sweetheart.”
“We’re buying this house?”
“We’re buying this house.”
“Mia, you like your new castle?” Eddie asked Mia, who looked over at them and quickly lost her balance, falling on her butt with a grunt.
“Dada! Mama!” She started to crawl back to them with a big smile.
They both sat down on the carpet and waited for her to get to them. Mia climbed into Steve’s lap, tugging his shirt until she was situated comfortably on his thigh.
“You like this place, little one?” Steve asked her, kissing the top of her forehead.
Eddie watched as Mia clapped her hands together and smiled up at Steve.
“I think that’s a yes,” he said quietly.
“I think so too,” Steve stole a quick kiss from Eddie before lifting Mia into his arms and standing up. “Let’s go buy this house.”
It seemed kind of crazy to Eddie how simple this turned out to be. He half expected them to find flaws in the house, or disagree on the cost, or the realtor deciding she didn’t want to work with queers.
But maybe he finally deserved something simple. Maybe they all did.
******
The goodbyes weren’t as difficult now, the certainty of this being temporary enough to keep the tears from falling, at least until Mia was in her carseat in the van and Eddie was backing out of the driveway of their future home.
Steve was sticking around to discuss the boring part of it all with the realtor, and hopefully, by the time Eddie and Mia made it back to Hawkins, they’d have an accepted offer and paperwork to sign.
Eddie would have to come back to sign everything once it was drafted up at the bank and with the insurance company, but he would make it work.
Mia babbled a bit in the backseat while Eddie sang along quietly to his Iron Maiden tape. She eventually got quiet, and Eddie glanced at the mirror he had facing her to see that she was asleep.
He let his mind wander to the future, to everything he and Steve would be able to do in their own place. He thought about Mia having her own room, a backyard that she could run around in, easy access to a city that she could be herself in, whatever that may be. He wondered if Robin would live with them for a while or just while they figured everything out.
He even pictured a day where they could have more kids, give Mia a brother or sister or both, and take family pictures to hang up in frames on the walls of their house.
It wasn’t easy for him to picture his life like this before; He’d never had any reason to believe he’d have the picket fence version of life that so many people seemed to have. He’d always been okay with it, at least until Mia came into his life. Even then, he figured as long as she was fed, clothed, and had a roof over her head, he’d be happy.
But now that he had a taste of this kind of life, now that he saw the house he’d get to raise Mia in, he knew this was what he’d always wanted.
“Can’t believe Steve Harrington got to me like this,” he shook his head fondly.
*******
Wayne greeted him at the door, immediately taking Mia’s carseat from his hands and going inside.
“Nice to see you, too,” Eddie grumbled, walking back to the van to grab their bags.
“Oh, hush. You know I’m happy to see ya, too,” Wayne said over his shoulder.
Eddie smiled. “Steve call?”
“He may have.” The screen door closed before he could get more information.
“Dammit,” Eddie rushed to grab the bags and get inside.
“What did he say?” Eddie dropped the bags on the floor unceremoniously, going to the kitchen to call him back.
Mia was babbling in Wayne’s arms as he joined Eddie in the kitchen.
“Dada!”
Wayne’s jaw dropped.
“Oh! She learned a new word. Said it this morning and I cried and decided to give her anything she wants for the rest of my life.” Eddie smiled at Mia. “What did Steve say?”
“Well, first of all, he said to call him when you get back.” Wayne reached out for the rice snacks on the counter to hand one to Mia. “And then he said your offer was accepted by the owners.”
Eddie felt tears welling up in his eyes. “Really? Already?”
Wayne walked over to him, tears already gathering up in his eyes, too. “Yeah, son. Looks like you’re gonna be a homeowner.”
“Holy shit.”
“Sh! Sh!” Mia couldn’t quite make the right ‘sh’ noise, but it was close enough for Wayne and Eddie’s eyes to widen.
“Looks like ya might have to start watchin’ your mouth around the princess. Seems she’s reached her mimic stage a bit early,” Wayne laughed. “Your dada’s been sayin’ bad words since he was eight. Don’t let him fool ya.”
“Alright, alright. I’m gonna call Steve back and then it’s time for Mia to have some dinner and a bath and a bedtime story.”
“Mama!” Mia turned her head around at Steve’s name, clearly searching for him.
“Mama’s not here, baby. Sorry. But I’m gonna call him and you can say hi, okay?” Eddie picked up the phone and dialed Steve’s number from memory. He took Mia in his arms and sat down at the table as he waited for Steve to answer.
“Hello?”
“Mama! Mama! Dada!” Mia started clapping the moment she heard Steve’s voice through the phone.
Steve laughed. “Hi there princess. I miss you already. Are you being good?”
“Mama. Ma. Mamamamama!”
“I’ll take that as a yes,” Steve snorted. “Did Wayne tell you the good news?”
“He did.” Eddie smiled into the phone even though Steve couldn’t see it. “What do we do now?”
“The next part is kinda out of our hands. The realtor has to work with the bank to get the papers done properly and then when they’ve gotten that done, we’ll both have to sign everything.”
“When do they think that’ll be?” Eddie let Mia sit in front of him on the table, one hand holding her side so she wouldn’t fall. “I don’t know if I could get back there before next weekend.”
“Yeah, I mentioned that to them. They said it would probably take at least 14 days to have the closing paperwork done. And they also said we didn’t have to go together, so I could go sign when it’s ready and then you can go sign the first chance you get.”
“I wanna do it with you, though. It’s a big deal. Our first house.” Eddie’s eyes widened. “Holy shit, our first house. We’re buying a house.”
“Sh!” Mia copied, grinning up at her dad.
“No, Mia, not that. God, Mia’s trying to say bad words before she even says Papa or anything. Okay.” He sighed. “So I can just make sure my boss knows in about two weeks I’ll probably have to take a day off to drive there and sign.”
“He won’t fire you or anything, right?” It sounded like Steve was in his kitchen, cooking dinner for him and Robin. “If he finds out you’re moving?”
“No. I already mentioned to him it was a possibility and that I’d be grateful for any recommendation he could give me on a job search.”
“Good. Just don’t want you to be without a job.”
Mia started playing with a strand of Eddie’s hair, tugging on it lightly. He knew it would get rougher if he didn’t distract her, though. He held up the cord of the phone in front of her and showed her how it coiled.
“I won’t be.” Eddie sighed. “I miss you already.”
“Oh for heaven’s sake,” Wayne grumbled before leaving the room.
“I miss you too. You okay?” Steve sounded genuinely concerned, almost like he’d be willing to drive to Hawkins if Eddie’s answer was no.
“I’m alright. I’m actually-“ Eddie laughed. “I think this is maybe the best I’ve ever been. Other than the missing you part, but that’s just for now. Like, within the next month or two, I’ll be with you all the time. And Mia can have us both all the time.”
“Yeah,” he could hear the grin in Steve’s voice. “I can’t wait to share a home with you. Did you tell Wayne about it yet?”
“No, called you almost as soon as I got in the door. He can hear all about it later.” Mia tapped Eddie’s cheek. “Mia’s gonna love having her own kingdom to rule over.”
“I’m sure she will. I already stopped by the store to look at paint samples for her room,” Steve admitted. “I didn’t think pink fit her, but there was a nice lavender that might look nice on one wall.”
“I’ll let you handle that stuff. Maybe she can pick from a few options. Would you like that, Mia?” Eddie poked her nose and smiled when she giggled. “I bet you’d pick something so colorful it hurts our eyes.”
“Dada.” Eddie waited to see if she did anything, but she didn’t.
“Okay, I’m gonna go get some dinner into Mia’s system. You want me to call you when she goes to bed?” Eddie asked.
“How about I call you after I talk to Robin?” Steve offered.
“Sure, just not too late. Wayne’ll be going to bed soon, too.”
“Should be by nine, baby,” Steve’s voice changed to something softer. “You know I love you more than anything, right? I’m so fuckin’ happy I get to do this with you.”
“I know, sweetheart. I love you so much. This is more than I could’ve ever dreamed of for us,” Eddie said quietly, watching as Mia grabbed his hair again. “I’ll talk to you later.”
“Later.”
Eddie hung up the phone and started to get Mia’s dinner ready. Wayne had already been making something for them before they got home, some chicken and green beans that could easily be cut up for Mia. He set her in the high chair and started passing some of the cooled off and cut up green beans.
“Are they yummy, Mia?” He asked as she shoved a piece into her mouth.
“Me.”
“Yummy!” Eddie nodded. “We love when Wayne makes green beans, don’t we?”
“Suckin’ up to your old man, now?” Wayne asked he walked in. He stood next to Eddie and started shredding a piece of chicken for Mia. “I already gave my blessing to move. Not sure why ya feel like bein’ so nice.”
Eddie nudged his shoulder. “Maybe I’m just appreciating you before I don’t have you helpin’ me out all the time.”
Wayne froze for a moment, just enough to make Eddie pause in his movements, too.
“Steve’s gonna make sure you have a key to the house. You’re welcome anytime,” Eddie continued. “And we could definitely use some help fixing up some things if you’re willing to.”
“Always here to help ya, son. You know movin’ away won’t get rid of me.”
Eddie bit back a complicated set of emotions, most of which would result in tears, possibly for both of them.
“We’ll visit you here, too.”
“Well…’bout that.” Wayne walked over to the high chair and put a few of the pieces of chicken down. “I been talkin’ to my buddy in Ohio. You remember Benny?”
“Uh-huh.”
“He’s been thinkin’ about movin’ to Illinois to be closer to his sister’s family. Her husband died last year and she could use the help with her kids, but he didn’t wanna move in with them. He’s lookin’ for someone to share rent with and I kinda offered to go.” Wayne rubbed the back of his head. “Be closer to ya at your new place, too. Figured I can probably get a job anywhere with my mechanic skills.”
“Wayne, that’s great. Seriously, can’t believe you’re gonna leave this place!” Eddie got more excited the more he realized this was all working out perfectly.
“Yeah, well. Don’t think this town’s got much more for me in it if you two ain’t here.”
“I’ll drink to that. We are the best parts of this place.”
*******
Two weeks flew by, but the paperwork wasn’t quite finished when they’d hoped.
“It’s normal for delays to happen,” Steve reminded Eddie over the phone when he was starting to worry that something would fall through.
“I just don’t want there to be any problems. Like, what if the bank decides they don’t wanna provide a loan to us? What if they figure out we’re romantically involved and decide they don’t wanna do business with us?”
“Baby, that’s not gonna happen at this point. It’s our house, okay? We just have to be patient.”
*******
Another week passed, and Eddie was starting to worry that the house would never be theirs.
Steve reassured him it was fine, that he’d been in contact with everyone nearly every day and everyone remained positive that this would be closed soon.
Eddie was on edge at work, on edge at home, on edge when he visited with the Hendersons.
He knew it, wanted to be able to brush it off, but couldn’t. The stress was eating away at him until he was barely sleeping.
But finally, on day 26, Steve called him at work.
“Baby.” He could hear the tears in Steve’s voice, instantly making him choke up. “It’s done. You just have to come sign everything.”
“It’s done?” Eddie turned away from the secretary at the desk for even the smallest amount of privacy. “It’s ours?”
“It is.”
Eddie turned and yelled to the entire lobby: “I’m a homeowner!”
He could hear Steve laughing on the other end, giddy with the news.
“Shit, we’re homeowners. Please tell me you know how to clean gutters,” Eddie said into the phone.
“I can figure it out,” Steve snorted. “You think you can come up tomorrow to sign everything?”
“Wayne works tomorrow so he wouldn’t be able to watch Mia,” Eddie groaned.
“Bring Mia. We can do this as a family,” Steve said.
“She might get fussy if she gets bored,” Eddie said. She’d been itching to try to walk for the last week or so, and any time anyone held her for longer than a couple minutes, she would whine and push away from them. “And I don’t think they’d be cool with her crawling around their office and getting into things.”
“We can take turns handling it. That’s why we have each other, baby. I’m here for both of you now.”
“I-“ Eddie was doing his best not to cry in the lobby of his workplace. “I know, Stevie. I can be there tomorrow. We can be there tomorrow.”
“If you can get here before lunch, maybe I can take you both over to see Maryann and Charlie. They’d love to see you again.”
“Oh, I know. They call once a week asking for updates from me because they don’t trust you to tell him if anything bad happens.” Eddie looked over his shoulder at the shop, sighing. “I gotta get back to work. Two cars just pulled in and we’re already running on one less employee this week. I’ll call you tonight to let you know when to expect us tomorrow.”
“Sounds good, love. Love you.”
“Love you.”
He hung up the phone and went back to work.
Tomorrow, he’d officially own a home with Steve.
Tomorrow, he’d get to start living a future he’d only ever dreamed of having.
Tomorrow, he’d make another step in making sure Mia had a family to love her and care for her.
Tomorrow, he’d get to leave the home he never thought he would.
Tomorrow was a fresh start and tomorrow couldn’t come fast enough.

Eddie does not babysit often. Not alone anyway. And when he did, Bubs was stationary and spent most of his time drooling.
Now, he’s still drooling a lot but he’s mobile. He didn’t think babies could move that fast! Especially ones who started crawling backward. (Which Steve is bizarrely proud of.) But Steve had to go in for a work emergency and Robin still had an hour before she’d be home, so Eddie, the gratuitous roommate and uncle that he is, offered to watch him.
He’s washing dishes, scrubbing the pots from where he’d prepped dinner since it was his turn, and had set up Jackson on a blanket in the middle of the kitchen with some pots and pans. Real classic Munson distraction method here. Little dude was happy as can be beating on the metal pots with a spoon and his hands, coming up with a song only he knew, while Eddie danced to his… music.
“I think,” Eddie says as he glances over his shoulder at a very focused Jackson, “that this means Uncle Eddie’s going to have to splurge on a real nice drum set for your birthday, squirt.”
He winces at a particularly loud bang. “Or maybe I’ll buy it to stay at Grandpa Jim’s, yeah?”
Jackson squeals as he throws the spoon-turned-drumstick.
“You got a deal,” Eddie says, pointing at him with a soapy finger. He turns back to the dishes, nodding along to Jackson’s playing.
He’s so close to being done with the dishes. So close to having dinner on the table and the kitchen cleaned by the time both Rob and Stevie get home, he doesn’t notice the music has… stopped.
The only sounds in the kitchen are the scrubbing of his sponge and the splashing of the dishwater. Not even the soft little baby noises Bubs makes! With a furrowed brow, Eddie glances over his shoulder to see… an empty blanket and abandoned pots and pans.
Fuck.
Eddie drops the pan into the water, grabs a rag, and flies out of the kitchen. He’s not in the living room. Eddie jumps around the stuffed animals and hard, plastic toys Jackson has strewn across the place. How the hell is he so fast? He’s not even a year old!
He’s not in his room, somehow the only clean place in the whole goddamn house, and he’s not in Steve’s room or his. Not in the hall bathroom or the little laundry room that someone must have left open. What the hell?
Eddie’s heart is racing as he barges into Robin’s room, the door noticeably cracked. If he lost their kid, they’ll never trust him again. Steve will never love him and Robin would sick Erica and Max on him or something. Fuck, she’d probably be the one to strangle him first, then unleash the girls.
Before he can panic fully, there’s a clinking coming from Robin’s bathroom. His relief is overshadowed by the horrifying thought that Jackson, sweet little baby Bubbles, has gotten into…. Anything? Everything?
He catapults over the bed and nearly dives into the bathroom.
Jackson freezes, mouth open as he looks up at him with big, curious eyes. His hands, however, are covered in makeup as he digs into one of Robin’s compacts.
“Holy shit, kid,” Eddie groans as he drops to his knees beside him. He pulls the compact out of his hands and starts brushing off some of the makeup.
This, apparently, is the wrong move. Jackson immediately starts to cry, big wails as he reaches for the compact Eddie stole from him.
“Yeah, yeah,” Eddie sighs as he takes the makeup bag that’s spilled all around the bathroom floor and starts stuffing things back in it. “I’m the worst. I know. I’m so sorry I’m trying to make sure you stay alive until your parents get back.”
“Is there a reason my son is screaming?”
The scream Eddie lets out is unholy to say the least. He clutches at his chest and looks up into the mirror above him to find Robin standing in the doorway. She waves at him through the mirror.
“I turned around for two seconds,” Eddie huffs.
Robin laughs and steps around him to pluck Jackson into her arms. “Never turn your back on a baby.”
Eddie rolls his eyes. “I think I’m picking up on that, birdie.”
The door opens and shuts, this time Eddie hears it. Which is just peachy. Now Steve, perfect parent and babysitter extraordinaire, is going to see how incompetent of a babysitter he is. “Is something burning?” he calls.
“Shit!”
He runs out of the bathroom to Robin’s laughter.

🎅🏻 Holiday Shopping / 🦠 Sniffles / 🤧 Sick for the Holidays
Ahhh this got away from me. So much fun to write!! Thanks for sending this in, Anon!! ~KB
*****
Holiday shopping was not usually Steve Harrington’s strong point. He always got the wrong thing or the wrong color. At this point it was a running joke. This year though, he’s had his eye on Eddie’s gift for a few months. He’d saved his last couple of Family Video paychecks to get Eddie a brand new set of dice for Hellfire.
Despite his parents almost never being home, Steve’s presence was demanded and expected at his aunt’s house over the next few days. That being said, his only day to deliver Eddie’s gift was today.
He’d paid extra for the dice to be gift wrapped, and now here he was, standing on the doorstep of the Munson trailer. He turned the wrapped box over in his hands after he knocked, suddenly worried Eddie might not like them.
“Steve! How are ya?” Wayne opened the door, greeting him.
“Hey Mr.Munson, merry Christmas! This is for you!” He handed Wayne a small gift bag. “It’s not much…”
The man opened the bag and pulled out a set of bandanas.
“For the grease when you work on the cars.” Steve explained.
“Thank you Steve.” He gave the boy a hug before eyeing the second wrapped gift in his hands. “That for Eddie?”
“Yeah! I Um… I didn’t tell him I was coming to drop it off.”
Wayne made an expression that Steve couldn’t quite place, “You might wanna come back another day. Ed’s got himself a pretty bad cold. I told him to stay in his room.”
“Crap…” Steve’s smile faded, “I’m going out of town tomorrow. Todays really the last day I can give it to him.”
Wayne seemed to be caught up in thought, mentally weighing the options in his head. As if on cue, slightly muffled sneezes rang out from the bedroom down the hall.
“HMPTCH! iiGSHUU! N’gisSHiew!”
“Alright, you can come give it to him, but you’ve been warned. He’s been-”
“G’isSHuhew!”
Wayne signed and rubbed the back of his neck, “He’s been sneezing like that all day.”
He stepped aside, letting Steve in. “Thanks Mr.Munson.”
Wayne grabbed a fresh box of tissues off the counter and tore it open, handing it to Steve. “Can you bring him these?”
“Of course!”
The brunette ran a hand through his hair. Tissues in one hand and gift in the other. He knocked gently on the bedroom door and waited for a response from the other side.
“SNF come hh come in- iiKSHtiew!”
Steve opened the door and peeked in, waving at Eddie from the doorway. He stepped in and closed the door behind him.
The older man was propped up in bed, wearing pajama pants and a sweatshirt. His rings were sitting on his bedside table, and his Hellfire campaign binder was open next to him. The bed and floor were littered with bunched up tissues, and there was an empty box on the floor.
“Steve!” A smile spread across his face. He pointed at the box of tissues in Steve’s hand and teased, “Are those for m’be? You shouldn’t have.”
“Yeah. Sounds like you need them!” Steve handed the box over and sat on the edge of Eddie’s bed.
Eddie sighed. Finally he had company to complain to.
“You do’t even k’dow Stevie. It’s just this thhh tickle won’t go hhh away…”
He pulled the first few tissues from the box and pressed them against his face, breath hitching uncontrollably.
“Hhh Heh- HIH! N’giSSSHew! etSCHuh! iiKSHT!”
He blew his nose and tossed the tissues aside before another round snuck up on him. He quickly pulled the neck of his hoodie up over his nose and mouth.
“h’IKSHiew! TSZiew! HEH’isSHuhew!”
Eddie gave a soupy sniffle, the accumulated mess retreating back into his nose before he lowered the collar of the hoodie.
“Jesus, Munson. Bless you!” Steve rubbed a hand up and down Eddie’s back, making contact with his big brown eyes.
“Tha’gks. Snlorff! Sorry you had to see that.”
“It’s okay Eds, you’re sick. I actually came to give you this.” Steve held out the small, delicately wrapped present.
Eddie looked at the present and then back at Steve before taking it. “What is it?”
Steve laughed, rolling his eyes, “You gotta open it and find out, killer!”
Eddie scrubbed at the underside of his nose with his jacket sleeve before untying the bow on the top of the box and opening it.
“Steve!! You got me new Hellfire Dice??”
The younger man blushed pinker than Eddie’s nose. “Yeah. I umm if you don’t like them I could…I kept the receipt…”
Eddie out a gentle hand on Steve’s chest to stop his rambling, “Hey, no I love them! Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
The two leaned in and gave each other a long hug, before Eddie pulled back, looking at Steve’s eyes, then his lips, and back to his eyes. He leaned forward and planted a gentle kiss on the younger man’s lips.
When he pulled back again, Steve was bright red. Eddie immediately panicked.
“Oh my god I’m so sorry!! I shouldn’t have done that I don’t know what I was thinking??? And you probably didn’t even want me to and.. and - H’iiKSHtew! Hr’TZziew! eKSHuhew!”
“Hey Eddie, calm down!”
Steve grabbed his shoulders and smiled at him, the older man’s nostrils slightly damp.
“I did want you to.” He handed a few tissues to Eddie, “Here.”
Eddie gurgled into the tissues and tossed them aside, looking back at Steve with puppy eyes. “But you’ll catch my cold.”
Steve smirked, “Good! I didn’t want to go to my aunt’s house anyways. Now move over!”
Eddie shuffled to the other side of the bed, making room for Steve to sit next to him. He sniffled again, leaning his head on Steve’s shoulder.
“Merry Christmas Steve.”

It’s a different kind of fear, the cold prickles that settle deep into the lining of each of Robin’s organs. The world throbs around her like an echo, and her head aches — her whole body aches. Beaten and sore from all of the bullshit, all of the running around and fighting, and she’s tired. So tired.
But none of that matters. Not when that familiar chill fills the air and a sickly dread sucks the air out of her lungs.
Not when it’s Steve.
For a while now, all memory of the asshole she knew back in Click’s class has been forgotten. Pushed aside. Gathering dust. Replaced entirely by the goofy, snarky guy with piss-poor flirting skills that she’s grown to love. Because it’s just so easy to love him.
The dark, looming figure before her, standing at the back door to Hell itself with an axe clutched tight in his fist, is not either of those guys.
She didn’t think that Steve’s face could look so angry. So hateful.
“Stevie,” Billy tries, raising his hands slowly and reaching out. “It’s okay. It’s gonna be okay.”
“What the fuck’s wrong with him?” Eddie breathes.
Clutches a hand over his abdomen, crimson seeping between each of his fingers and dripping down his chin. It’s staining Robin’s clothes from where she’s tucked under his arm, supporting his weight, but she ignores it. Watches carefully as Steve stands to his full height and steps off of the mattress with a creak.
“It’s the Mind-Flayer,” Robin manages. Takes a careful step back towards the door. “It has to be, right?”
“Steve, you have to fight it, do you hear me?” Billy says.
He dares to step closer. Extends his hands further, disregarding the rapid rise and fall of the brunet’s chest and the tightness of his jaw.
Even next to Billy, Steve suddenly seems to tower over everything. Suddenly seems so scary that Robin has to force herself to keep her eyes on him as they well with tears.
With a quick motion, he rears the axe back and takes a deadly swing, the handle catching in Billy’s grip with a painful thunk.
“Please, Steve—“
A left hook cracks across Billy’s jaw and sends him crashing to the floor.
“You think your pathetic ass stands a chance, Hargrove?” Steve hisses. Plunges the axe down and misses when Billy rolls out of the way, splitting the tile and letting go of the handle once and for all. “All of the pity fucks have really been going to your head, huh?”
He steps over the blond. Takes a fistful of his shirt and brings his knuckles down hard on the bridge of his nose. Snaps the cartilage and makes Robin sick to her stomach.
“Don’t listen, Bill,” Eddie rasps. “That’s not him.”
“Get out of here,” Billy pleads.
Catches another sock to the face and spits a mixture of blood and bile onto the floor.
“No.”
“We can’t leave you,” Robin protests.
“Get the fuck out and go find Nancy. Now.”
One more crack rips through the air and Robin has to clap a hand over her mouth to keep from vomiting, turning her face away from the gruesome display in front of her. It takes Eddie pulling her towards the doorway to make her head stop spinning.
“They always leave in the end, don’t they?” Steve muses. “Don’t worry, Billy bug, you still have me.”
He catches the fist that Billy tries to swing at him and drops to his knees, right over Billy’s chest, and pins his arms to the floor with an unforgiving grip.
“Fuck you.”
“Mm, I think I’ll pass. You’re not really my type.”
“I swear, when I get my hands around that slimy, disgusting neck of yours, I’m gonna wring it ‘till your fuckin’ eyes pop.”
The sickly smirk that splits across Steve’s face is almost inhuman. He leans down. Collects both of Billy’s wrists in one hand, pins them above his head, and lightly traces the cut of his jaw with his free hand. Almost lovingly.
Thunder roars in the distance. Billy can faintly hear the screeches coming from within the gate just a few feet away, and something else. Behind him.
The scrape of gravel and screaming voices — Dustin and Erica. All of the words are muddled in the background. Unintelligible.
“Y’know something, love?” Steve coos. So close that the cold puff of air on Billy’s cheek spawns goosebumps on his skin. “I still love Nance.”
“Bullshit.”
A hand wraps around his throat and he chokes as his windpipe is smashed between the tile and Steve’s unnaturally cold palm.
“It’s true. You’re nothing but a rebound that never got the hint to get out of my bed the morning after.”
“No,” Billy rasps. “You— you love me. You love Eddie. You say it so much that I almost get sick of hearing it, Stevie.”
“Y’know, now that you mention it…” The grip tightens around his throat. Makes Billy’s eyes burn as Steve’s lips brush against his ear. “Eddie’s my favorite. He at least has a purpose in this world, but you?” Fire spreads in his throat as he writhes helplessly. “Your only purpose is to die.”
“Steve— Steve would never say that.”
“Die believing a lie if you want, Hargrove. Save Eddie a spot, will you? I’ll be coming for him next.”
Black starts to overtake his vision, tunneling around the sadistic grin that looms over him. It’s funny because Billy still can’t help but think that Steve is beautiful. That he’ll be glad to see him soon, wherever he goes next. The real him.
There’s a click, and then a boom, and Billy’s lungs fill again.
Steve has fallen back. Clutches at his shoulder weakly, blood spurting between his fingers as he fixes a glare at the door.
Standing in the open doorway is Nancy Wheeler, revolver in her grip. The look on her face says that was a warning shot.
“You’re an idiot if you think we’ll let that asshole take you, Steve.” She pulls the hammer back with a click. Sets her jaw and furrows her brows. “Now come back to us.”

Home for the Holidays: Bonus “CIWYW” Story (Trans!Steve and Pan!Bucky Modern AU)
Twelve:
"WHAT?!" Eddie exclaimed in his sheer excitement as he tore through the wrapping paper instead of saving it the way he had with every other present. Of course, no one could blame him as the box revealed the Playdate Sven interactive toy. Shocked in his giddiness, Eddie looked up at Joseph, and asked, "This is mine?"
"Yeah," Joseph chuckled in his confirmation.
At that, Eddie hopped over the other presents and their wrappings scattered around the floor in his haste to hug his parents. Crashing into Sarah first and tightly holding her as he thanked her for the one big gift that he had wanted the most. Moving on to do the same to Joseph before moving on to hug Winifred. Making sure to hug Darlene too, causing her to momentarily put her professional camera down as she paused in photographing the cheery morning.
"Do you think he likes it?" Winifred quietly teased, earning a giggle from Sarah.
"Can I play with it now?" Eddie questioned, hopping in his spot beside the large box. Only to remember then that there was a friend his own age there too, and amending, "Can we play with it?"
"Yeah," Tibby agreed, petting her hand over the box, "Can we?"
"Sure," Joseph agreed, pulling the box closer to himself and getting started on opening it up. Except, it wasn't as easy as simply opening the box and putting the batteries in. There were antlers that needed to be popped into place, and the same for the legs. Realizing that he probably should've done it the night before, Joseph sighed, but didn't complain.
As Tibby and Eddie surrounded Joseph as he started putting the three feet tall reindeer together, Winifred suggested, "Baby, why don't you two play with something else while you wait."
"Okay," Eddie slightly slumped, but then remembered that he had gotten other Frozen toys. Perking, Eddie asked Tibby, "Wanna play pretend? You can even be Olaf!"
Feigning offense, Steve's jaw dropped open and he leaned over to tell Bucky, "He never lets anyone be Olaf!"
"Guess he likes his future sister-in-law better," Sam jokingly stage-whispered, leaning over Bucky's other side.
Both boys blushing, Steve could only stare at Sam, slack jawed at his comment while Bucky glared at his brother. And although Steve's insecurities were trying to make him believe that Bucky wasn't in this for the long haul the way that he was, Steve knew better. Sure, they were young and people changed. But there wasn't enough self-doubt inside of Steve to entertain the idea that this wasn't something real.
Mandy good-humoredly scoffed and argued, "Please. If anyone's going to be his favorite sister-in-law, it's going to be --"
"Me," Becca finished, childishly sticking her tongue out at her sister.
"Hey," Mandy exclaimed, pushing Becca over, causing her to fall into her own pile of presents from the Rogers, and their own mothers. Then, to not be outdone by her sister, Mandy jumped at the opportunity to ask Eddie, "Can I play pretend too?"
"Sure," Eddie agreed with a shrug as he started heading up the stairs to his bedroom with Tibby and Mandy following.
"Santa's sleigh," Sam alternatively cursed as he sat there, watching them head upstairs. Standing, he called after them, "Hey, wait for me!"
As Steve watched Becca get up too, Bucky stood from beside him. Directing his attention from the group heading upstairs, to Bucky, Steve found him with his arm outstretched for him, wiggling his fingers. And although Steve still felt half-asleep since it was only going on seven in the morning, he didn't even have to think to take Bucky's hand and let him pull him off the floor.
Deciding that he could kill two birds with one stone, Steve bent over to gather the presents that he had received. Most of them being art supplies, although he was still grateful for the socks and sweaters that he had gotten. Steve was even more grateful though that the pack of underwear that he typically got every Christmas was nowhere to be found. Probably because Bucky was there and Sarah didn't want to embarrass him.
With the sketchbooks, acrylic paint set, and professional charcoals in his arms, he started heading for the stairs. When he was about to start up the steps, he paused, remembering his coffee. Turning though, Steve was relieved to find that Bucky had already taken the initiative to bring it.
At the landing, Steve passed Eddie's room on his way to his own. Peeking in through the open door, he found Tibby wearing the Olaf costume and drinking imaginary tea out of the Frozen tea party set. Smiling, Steve paused, looking over how the back of the glittery pale blue Elsa dress was open as Sam was truly too big to be wearing the costume, but not caring as he donned the pale blonde wig as well.
"I think Sam's after my spot as Bestest Big Brother," Steve whispered to Bucky before finally crossing the space to his own room.
Dropping the gifts on his still unmade bed beside a sleeping Cat James, Steve realized that this was the first time that Bucky was in his room. Not just waiting in the doorway, but actually in his room. Quickly -- and as discreetly as possible -- Steve started kicking his discarded clothing from the previous days under his bed, knowing that he'll have to take care of them later.
Thankfully, Bucky wasn't paying attention to Steve feigning nonchalance as he tried to straighten his room. No, Bucky was busy looking at the art work on the walls. His gaze lingering on the ones that Steve drew from his visit in Arkansas. Especially one in particular.
"That's me," Bucky accused, looking back at Steve in absolute awestruck.
Steve's cheeks heated because he hadn't shown Bucky that one. The one from his memory alone. Sure, he probably made mistakes with the little details. But he made sure to get the adoration in Bucky's eyes right as they stared at him from behind his glasses. The same glasses that he wore now.
"I, uh," Bucky started, backing out of Steve's room. Steve went to follow, but Bucky held his hand up, causing Steve to pause in his spot as he explained, "I'll be right back."
For a moment, Steve just stood there. Wondering if he should take a seat. After all, he didn't know how long Bucky was going to take. He didn't know why Bucky had rushed out of his room to begin --
"Okay," Bucky panted, bumping into the doorframe, but seemingly not bothered. In his hand was another gift. Trying to catch his breath, Bucky crossed the room and took a seat on Steve's queen size bed.
Of course, realizing that he was sitting on Steve's bed, Bucky quickly shot back up. Bucky's cheeks were flaming red as he handed the rather small present to Steve with a, "Merry Christmas, Stevie."
"Thanks," Steve said, brows furrowing in his confusion. He hadn't been expecting more than one present. With shaky hands, Steve swiftly unwrapped the present and found a velvet box.
Eyes widening, Steve's gaze snapped up at Bucky, only for Bucky to quickly clarify, "It's not a ring."
Not sure if he was relieved or let down by that, Steve nodded and lifted the top. Just like Bucky said, it wasn't a ring. Instead, a shiny keychain was there. Lifting the gift from the velvet box, Steve looked over the stainless steel inch-size Arkansas state shape keychain with a heart ingrained in the spot where Bucky lived along with a dotted line heading North and the text, my heart is in AR. Joining the state on the keyring was a heart the size of a dime with the inscription, I'll be back.
"It's a promise," Bucky solidified, pulling out his own keychain from his gingerbread man pajama pants.
Taking a step closer to Steve, Bucky held the keyring by his keys and placed his keychain -- the state shape of New York -- above Steve's so the dotted line matched up, showing that it was a map to the ingrained heart location of where Steve lived. On Bucky's his claimed, my heart is in NY, and on the heart, it read, I'll be waiting.
"Do you… do you, um," Bucky started, looking at Steve. Worrying his lower lip with his teeth, Bucky nervously questioned, "It's not too much, is it?"
Steve shook his head and reassured, "It's…" Excellent. Wonderful. Marvelous. Magnificent. Sublime. "It's perfect. I love it. I love you."
"I love you," Bucky replied, leaning in to kiss Steve as he promised, "I mean it. I'll be back."
Feeling absolutely weightless with the admission and the solidity of the vow, Steve confirmed, "I'll be waiting."

Roleplay Server Log #163
“BEN’s Lethal Tantrum”
[TLOT] BEN... he needs to be clean or he'll get sick. You can get away with that, he can't. I know it's upsetting, but he's safe here. You should know that by now.
[BEN] - He does not need to get wet!
[Doc] Well I don't think you want to use lava like we do with you. It's too scary for a baby and we don't want him to grow up thinking that won't hurt him.
[BEN] - But water hurts too!
[TLOT] It does not hurt you. Now you're just making things up!
[snake] only if nobody is careful will someone drown
[BEN] His memories are loud, he remembers the dock breaking under his feet and him falling into the lake, the pain of drowning as his lungs fill with icy liquid-
[TLOT] Feels his thoughts - I know you're afraid and you want to watch for him... but that was out there. Things are different here. You've hit respawn before, it will catch anyone who falls.
[snake] and gem is going to teach him to swim so he won't drown
[BEN] - I've hit respawn before that as well, I simply go back to a previous save.  But I refuse to let Hyrule drown!
[Doc] He's not gonna drown BEN, heck, he might even help you get over your fear too.
[BEN] Growls loudly-
[Doc] Maybe that's what you need. Some swimming lessons, just you and me or TLOT.
[BEN] - FUCK NO!
[TLOT] I'd be happy to help.
[BEN] - I know how to swim asshole!
[TLOT] Oh, I thought you didn't know how. So what are you actually afraid will happen to you? You'd have to really let yourself sink to drown and even then you'd be okay.
[BEN] - I DON'T LIKE WATER!
[TLOT] You're stinky anyway BEN, you should come swimming with us.
[BEN] Darts upwards and clings to the ceiling- NO!
[snake] another lava bath?
[TLOT] Nah, the real deal, he should come hang out at the beach with us.
[BEN] - LEAVE ME OUT OF THIS PLAN!
[TLOT] Oh come on, - reaches up to tickle BEN's ribs.
[BEN] Presses himself as close to the ceiling as possible- STOP THAT!
[TLOT] tickle tickle!
[snake] -quietly to himself but loud enough for the others to hear- you should be happy you can have lava baths aven didn't have that choice when she was alive but she still took showers every day.
[BEN] Shrieks and falls- Aven make them stop!
[aven] -is in the tree house and can't hear ben-
[TLOT] Gives BEN a playful poke in the belly
[BEN] Tries to run away-
[TLOT] Just grabs BEN around the waist and picks him up -
[BEN] Struggles as hard as he can- AVEN!
[aven] -hears ben barely and starts to head back to the kitchen-
[TLOT] Come on BEN come hang out with us - Starts walking outside with him
[BEN] Grabs the door frame with a death grip- NO!
[aven] -comes down stair- what's going on?
[Doc] Gives him another tickle so he'll let go. Him and TLOT are blocking the main doorway anyway
[BEN] - They're making me go to water!
[aven] ok maybe that's not a good idea.
[TLOT] We'll bring him back in one piece.
[BEN] - Aven!  A little help here!?
[TLOT] Pushes BEN harder to get him out the door
[aven] I don't think I am strong enough to get you out of tlots grasp
[BEN] Whines-
[TLOT] Come on Aven, you know we won't hurt him.
[Doc] You're welcome to come too you know.
[aven] I know but water.
[BEN] - Don't let them drown me!
[Doc] We're gonna visit the other baby dragons first too.
[aven] well ben will freak out if I put the guardians in charge of the baby
[BEN] - DON'T YOU DARE!
[Doc] Bring Hyrule, it's okay. Then BEN will know he's safe
[eddy and Edward] -comes running down the stairs giggling-
[aven] he is sleeping I don't want him to be woken up.
[Doc] Aww damn. I hate to leave you out Aven.
[BEN] - Save me!
[TLOT] Shoves BEN outside with a terrible scrabbling of nails on wood.
[BEN] - Nooooooooooooo!
[Steve] Uhhh, why is BEN screaming?
[CP] Is snickering-
[TLOT] It's just a thing he does.
[Steve] Hey wait, he likes milk doesn't he? Hey BEN, try this. - Offers him a bucket of the vanilla milk.
[BEN] - I don't care!  Just let me go back inside!
[Steve] Okay...
[Stevie] - Why is he loud?
[Doc] He likes to complain.
[Stevie] - Oh, okay- Starts sliding off one side of the cow without realizing it
[Steve] Pushes Stevie back up straight - be careful, you'll fall
[TLOT] Is just walking along with BEN held in front of him.
[BEN] Is doing everything he can to resist-
[TLOT] Man you are loud...
[CP] Finding himself in a slightly generous mood gives Hera a mental call to let her know something hilarious is about to happen-
[Herabrine] Perks up as she's helping LJ move some lumber - Hey chuckles, it sounds like we're about to miss some fun. Think we can take a break?
[LJ] - Sure, I'm always up for some fun
[Herabrine] Let's go!
[TLOT] Is headed for the librairy and uses BEN to push the doors open
[Doc] Is following behind him with Steve and the cow.
[Endrea] Perks at the sound of the doors breaking since they were meant to be pulled-
[TLOT] Whoops.... Hi Endrea!
[Endrea] Nods her head in acknowledgment-
[Doc] Follows him in chuckling - Deerheart! Look- points to the gem Yaunfen is sucking happily on.
[CP] Flies up to the upper level of the library where there is more space-
[Deer] - He's...  Eating a diamond?
[Doc] Sort of? It's like sugar rock candy. - Pulls out one of the blue gems - You can suck on them and they dissolve.
[Deer] - Interesting...
[BEN] - LET ME THE FUCK GO!
[TLOT] No, because you'll fly up there with Cp and it will be a bitch to catch you again.
[LJ] Leads Hera out of the forest- Now then, where is this fun?
[Herabrine] grins- First we go to the library, and then I think we're taking BEN to the beach.
[LJ] - Lead on
[Herabrine] swaggers through the broken doors - did I miss a party?
[TLOT] Just the brine I needed to see.
[LJ] - Judging by how tight of a grip you have on BEN, I'm guessing water is going to be involved?
[TLOT] Yeah he's stinky.
[LJ] Laughs-
[Stevie] - Can I get down now?
[Steve] Sure- holds out his hands to help-
[Stevie] Reaches out for Steve and is lowered to the ground before he starts running around-
[Doc] I have a small concern Endrea, I wanted to talk to you first... Yaunfen... I don't want to scare them when I shapeshift do you have any suggestions to lessen the shock?
[Endrea] - Hmmm, my children have instinctively known it was me, so I'm not certain what to suggest...
[Doc] Well, we're kinda the same shape, I'm hoping that will help...
[Liz] Stinky. *squinting at BEN from their perch
[Endrea] - It should be fine
[BEN] - SHUT UP!  I AM NOT!  AND IT HASN'T BEEN A MONTH YET!
[Doc] Would you... I don't know, hold them while I do it in case they run or panic?
[Endrea] - Absolutely, though I don't suggest doing it in here right now, it is starting to get a bit...  Crowded...
[Doc] Deerheart, maybe you should do the same, so Yaunfen knows. We are their parents for all intents and purposes.
[Deer] - I understand
[Herabrine] I thought we were going to the beach, I'm sweaty from working anyway, lets go.
[gem] -comes back to the library- did I miss something? -sees hera- oh there you are hera I was looking for you.
[Aqua] Trills from the bucket-
[Herabrine] Whatever it is, I didn't do it!
[gem] no I wanted you to meet aqua.
[Herabrine] Aqua?
[Aqua] Squirts a bit of water at Hera-
[Herabrine] Whoah! That's, hey that's a bitty dragon! What a little squirt! Literally.
[gem] they are going to have to move out of my pond when they are bigger and into the ocean so I thought it would be a good idea to introduce them to you.
[Aqua] Chirps and does a tight turn I the bucket-
[Doc] I think we should go outside anyway, get some air.
[Herabrine] That's so neat!
[Endrea] Starts making sure she has all of her children-
[Steve] Is outside leading the cow to the horse pen in front of the bar.
[Doc] Goes outside and starts down the hill to wait for Endrea and Deerheart.
[Stevie] - Brother!  Can we go get father?
[gem] do you want to hold aqua?
[TLOT] Just walks back outside carrying BEN at arms length
[Endrea] Herds WIllow, Oak, and Ashe outside with a bit of help from Deer-
[Herabrine] please. Can they be out of water at all?
[LJ] Follows cackling-
[CP] - Do you really want to?
[Stevie] - Yes!
[CP] Sighs- Go stay with Steve, I'll be back with...  Father...
[gem] I don't think so but I am also not sure since they have been in the water the whole time and the end he is from was underwater you can hold the bucket
[Steve] Has put the cow away and is waving to Stevie.
[Stevie] Runs to Steve while CP teleports-
[Herabrine] Aww, sweet baby. I love sea critters. Well, not squids.... - She puts her hand in the bucket to pet Aqua.
[Aqua] Nuzzles against Hera before trying to gum her-
[Herabrine] What does he eat? Anything yet?
[gem] I have been giving him special fish flakes doc helped me make.
[Herabrine] Clever. I saw some shit like that when I was irl with Cp getting the lobsters.
[Steve] is making a shallow pond by the waters edge with a sand bottom as a kiddie pool.
[Stevie] Is already splashing in parts of it-
[Herabrine] Is leading Gem outside talking as they walk- Looks like the Steves have the right idea. Little pond for the small frye
[Notch] Is just placidly drinking a cup of coffee as Cp tps in and grabs him - AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
[CP] Teleports back and drops Notch in the sand-
[Stevie] - Father!
[gem] -follows and sees the kiddie pool- maybe I can put aqua in the kiddie pool.
[Notch] AAAAaaaaa oh...
[Steve] That's a good idea, Stevie can you play nice with Aqua?
[Stevie] - Oh, uhhuh!
[Notch] Did I miss something?
[gem] -lets aqua out of the bucket into the kiddie pool-
[Doc] Just a little outing, nothing big. Had to step out for baby dragon kibble.
[BEN] Is whining-
[Steve] Watches the little dragon swim- so graceful!
[Aqua] Jumps around and splashes before squirting at BEN-
[BEN] - FUCKING MAJORA!
[Doc] Endrea....? Can you..? - Gestures to Yaunfen with a nervous swallow
[Endrea] Nods and gently picks Yaunfen up and putting them between her front paws-
[gem] first time ben got hit since aqua hatched I ended up putting glass up so aqua wouldn't squirt ben and aven.
[Doc] Leans down to give the baby dragon a kiss and backs off on all fours, trying to maintain eye contact.
[Yaunfen] Curiously tilts it's head as it gums the candy diamond-
[Doc] There's a bit of distortion as xe transforms and flops onto the grass with a hopeful smile
[Yaunfen] Squeaks happily-
[Doc] Oh thank goodness... Deerheart? You want to go next?
[Deer] - Sure- She clicks her tongue to get Yaunfen's attention before shifting herself
[Yaunfen] Squeaks again-
[Doc] Lays hir head down near the baby and begins to purr - You know who loves you, don't you? I do. Deerheart... - Xe whispers to get her attention. Hir hearts are overflowing with joy and little tears are glistening at the corners of hir eyes - I don't even have words... Please just lay with us for a little while...
[Deer] Gives a little smile and curls around the other side, her nose almost touching Doc's-
[Yaunfen] Squeaks and almost topples over backwards trying to sniff Doc and Deer's noses as well-
[Aqua] Races around the little pool as fast as he can-
[Endrea] Backs off so Doc and Deer can have some space-
[TLOT] Sets BEN down but keeps one hand on him and forces his shirt and pants into his inventory so they won't get wet. - Come on BEN you know you're just being silly.
[BEN] - NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE!!!!!!!!
[TLOT] Unequipts some of his own clothes and walks them both into the shallows. Only BEN's feet are wet for the moment.
[BEN] Shrieks and pulls his legs in towards his body so they are as far away from the water as possible-
[TLOT] Walks a little deeper- You're okay, there's no need to scream.
[gem] -swaps out of her dress to the black shorts and shirt then jumps in next to ben to create a big splash-
[BEN] - NONONONONONONONONONONONONO!- Ear shattering schreech at the giant splash
[TLOT] Is drenched and shakes his head like a dog. - Damn that's cold!
[BEN] High pitched whine-
[CP] - Oh for fucks sake BEN, you have a fucking mask that lets you breath and swim underwater!
[TLOT] He does? That's neat! What does it look like?
[CP] - Like a Zora?  I believe is what they're called...  Fish like people that live in several of the games of his franchise
[Herabrine] Stops laughing for a moment. - His game has fish people? That's so cool!
[gem] -raises just enough of a wing to make it look like a shark fin and starts swimming around-
[BEN] - LET ME GO! LET ME GO! LETMEGOLETMEGOLETMEGO
[TLOT] Gem your griefer is showing.
[LJ] Is cackling madly-
[gem] -still under the water- I am a shark who is this gem.
[TLOT] We're just gonna paddle a bit. I won't let go. - Gets downa bit further and hold him up a little so his head and shoulders are still clear of the very placid water of the bay.
[BEN] Starts trying to drown TLOT with his powers as he scrambles to get out of the water himself-
[TLOT] Starts coughing madly but doesn't let go, - Stop that dammit!
[BEN] - NO!
[gem] -grabs bens feet and starts to pull him away from tlot while using her wing to keep him above the water-
This message has been removed.
[BEN] Instinctively pulls at his sword and stabs at GEM-
[TLOT] Loses his grip because of the coughing, and staggers back to shore to sit down. - Dammit...
[BEN] Starts attempting a mass drowning of everyone there-
[gem] -grabs at the sword then tosses ben on to land the water doesn't affect her she doesn't have lungs-
[Doc] Sees the little ones struggling to breathe and freaks out, xe's on BEN with a roar and throws him back out to sea.
[Stevie] Starts coughing a little as well-
[BEN] Stays above the water and rockets high into the sky-
[Doc] Is choking but hot on his tail- I'll use the execute! Stop it now!
[BEN] - I don't wanna drown...  Don't make me drown!-  He's having flashbacks
[Doc] Is starting to black out hirself and fires the admin command as xe falters. The bolt of lightning falls from the ceiling of the server and empties BENs health bar in an instant.
[BEN] His drowning affect ceases as he spawns in his and Aven's bed trembling and scared-
[Doc] Loses conciousness and falls like an arrow into the deeper part of the bay -
[CP] Is checking Stevie over-
[Herabrine] Holy shit... I.... - She runs to the baby dragons first as they're the smallest, trying to call the water out of their lungs with her powers.
[gem] -seeing everyone takeing care of the little ones goes after doc-
[Yaunfen] Weakly heaves the water out-
[Doc] Is unconcious and sinking -
[Deer] Is watching the water carefully and listening to the server-
[gem] -grabs one of doc's arms and starts to pull hir out of the water-
[Doc] Is still in hir dragon shape but easily pulled. -
[gem] -gets doc's head above the water and starts swimming hir to shore-
[Stevie] Climbs out of the water, not so sure about it anymore-
[Aqua] Is confused as to why everyone stopped playing-
[TLOT] Pulls himself together- What the nether was he thinking? Trying that stunt on the children?
[CP] - He was terrified TLOT, he loses rational thought when he's that scared.  He was looking for a way out
[LJ] - Not the first time he's tried pulling that stunt
[TLOT] What did your brethern do in that case?
[CP] - Usually Splender would use his abilities to calm him
[gem] -gets doc to shore- I got doc they are unconscious
[TLOT] Skims over Doc's mind. - They're a bit scrambled, but intact. I think hitting the water knocked them out worse then the shock of near drowning
[Deer] Approaches and nudges Doc- Come on love, please wake up
[Doc] mumbles something and winces
[Deer] Focus' the power of the seed on Doc to help them recover-
[Doc] barely audible- I don't want a toothpaste sandwich, can't you see I'm doing my taxes?
[Deer] Laughs a little- Come on love, it's not tax season yet
[Doc] Blinks a bit - I'm pretty sure I have at least four broken bones.....
[Deer] Nuzzles- It's okay, they'll heal soon
[gem] are you ok besides that doc?
[Doc] Yes... I fucking hate that thing BEN does... it hurts to breathe.
[gem] I don't think nearly sinking to the bottom of the ocean would have help that feeling.
[Deer] Hums and settles down next to Doc, still in dragon form-
