“inherent worth to your life” arguments never worked on me, honestly, and neither did “but the ppl whose lives you make better :(“ ones (they might for you!!!) bc literally they don’t exist really, but what did work on me is realising that kms would mean i wouldn’t get to look at stuff anymore. not read nor write nor listen to music nor rain nor poetry nor watch films and sunrises and birds nesting and the way the sky darkens and the moon. the moon! that big ass rock! illuminated by another’s light and yet the most beautiful thing to lift your eye to! im a bit of a romantic so you know. that worked on me. has been working for like, half a decade now. so you reallllllllllllly gotta find the argument that works on you.
cause there’s stuff that’s important to you, right? reduce it down to that, if you have to, for now, even if it’s one thing. love that one thing with everything you have. it’s gonna get easier to breathe. so breathe. breathe when it’s easy, and breathe extra hard when it’s hard. i believe in you!!!!!!!! “meaning” is so fucking vague anyway. who decides that shit!!! who cares!!! the most important part is that inside you there’s a beating heart whose pumping is testament to the love you feel for whatever it is. there’s meaning in that, i can definitely promise that.

This is a big ass rant bc I'm very done with G's fans or fans of the ship even so yeah read it if you want don't read it if you don't want and also dont read if you get triggered easily by being called out or having your fave get called out and I know the comments I'm gonna get for this but don't forget that lately y'all have been nothing but a bunch of hypocrites so I will probably be able to use what you said against you or I will just block you bc y'all are annoying as fuck
I wasn't gonna post this at first bc I'm genuinely tired of ignorant people like this, but I just can't not voice my opinion specially when it's about something like this shit so here I am.
NO ONE and I mean seriously NO ONE is sending death threats to grace and most definitely not bc of her character or bc "she got in the way" let's just start there, people CALL HER OUT bc that's what it is half of the time bc she has shown a lot of nasty behavior, that goes from screenshoting something from someone that doesn't agree with her and then post it knowing that her little minions would go straight into attack mode, to constantly talking about haters and twisting every single thing said to make herself the victim, she has ignored when her fans were doxxing others for simply not agreeing bc yeah sweetheart we the people that don't agree with her are the ones getting doxxed not you so that little comment in the end of the post, ridiculous, she has multiple times when it was brought to her attention that people were being threatened she made light of the situation and proceeded to make it about herself even when she knew that a lot of the people getting this stuff were MINORS, she took a post from a black person that was simply saying how it's disgusting how they need to have a reason to not like her but yet there's people going around hating on black people for no reason or just simply for existing, and someone answered to that basically calling her basic and she saw the post and what did she do, she posted only the part where she was called basic (this were not the actual words but the meaning is basically the same) and ignored the actual point of that post and what happened after?? her fans went and attacked that person and made some truly disturbing racist comments, she loves to claim her "haters" get mad at her for the smallest things when she's literally the one saying that people are mad when no one is, she just wants people to feel bad for her and treat her like a sweet little angel and also let's not forget the most recent bullshit she did I mean create a whole ass tiktok with screenshots from "haters" with their @'s visible even though she knew what would happen and then poof the video disappeared, bc all she wants is for y'all to feel bad about her nothing else do you not feel embarrassed by how much you defend her and how little shits she gives about you she cares more about her haters than y'all

lmao if youve followed me for any time at all you would know i fucking hate the huntlow ship. huntlow ship my beloathed <3< <3< <3< :333 at least how 90% of the fandom portrays them. ppl will see a white angsty boy and immediately find the one shippable girl and file down all her character and make her his emotional support decoration.
to be clear, huntlow in the actual show is fine. i don't think them getting together would add anything to their character arcs, and since the show is running on a tight schedule i think they should have just cut that subplot out. i think there are ways to make them interesting but the show doesn't have any time to do that. there's barely anything substantial about the ship in canon anyway so i think it's fine. it's ignorable if you dislike it and its enough to extrapolate into a funny post canon ship if you do. my opinion on huntlow in the show is like my opinion on gustholomule. it's fun to consider but it's obviously not important to the story i actually care about.
but the shippers??? hoooo the shippers. first of all while i don't like to think about most fandom stuff from the stance of representation it's really important that owl house is like. THE gay cartoon rn. the creator had to fight tooth and nail and write around a bunch of stuff to get queer couples on air and make the fandom more receptive to it outside of a fetishistic thing or a "cute background couple that everyone acknowledges is canon but no one actually explores" thing. and then the moment a blond boy looks at a girl everyone explodes. im not calling ppl bigoted for shipping it bc i dont know the exact reasons every single huntlow shipper likes the ship but the fact that they also try to use rep to justify it? even though 90% of them didn't give a shit about the non white boy half of the ship before the ship became a thing? not a great look for the average huntlow fan lmao.
also the mischaracterization of both characters, especially willow, is super annoying. it shouldn't be a hot take but characterizing willow to be a brute that tries to beat up everyone who looks at her wrong? and indicating that hunter, a survivor of child abuse, is attracted to her because of this? uhhhhh don't like that! its one thing to portray this and explore why its bad but that sure isn't what 90% of the shippers do! youre allowed to depict any dynamic you want but im allowed to say that depiction sucks shit! same with making willow to be either a 50s housewife or a manic pixie dream girl she isn't any of that? literally just make a self insert to ship hunter with if you want his ya love interest ass so bad.
anyway ive complained more about the huntlow ship and its place in fandom here, here, here, here, here, and here, among others. a lot of my points are in the tags lmao. that isn't to say all huntlow shippers are annoying some of them make genuinely good content thats in character for both of them! but the shipping community is. bad. and i already didn't care for the ship anyway so they haven't made my opinion better. it was a mistake for the show to put hunter's conventionally attractive angsty ass into a shippable position lmao.
19. What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?
I think part of this phenomenon is because the fandom skews younger since at the end of the day toh is a disney show rated for kids. but there's a phenomenon ive seen with a lot of young skewing fandoms where fans assume just because the thing they like is diverse, that automatically exempts them from being bigoted or even having implicite biases. like "i cant be racist my friend is black!" but it's with fandoms so they have even less of a leg to stand on. ive been guilty of that too in the past and im trying to examine my biases both in fandom and more importantly in real life.
the fandom has a serious favouritism towards the white and/or male characters. just look at the disparity of opinions on the blight parents, even before clouds on the horizon. or even better, before s2 when all we had on them was just a background shot in lilith's flashback. people were already portraying odalia as a catty evil woman and alador as his uwu tortured husband whos scared of her, before we even knew their names.
same goes for other female villains compared to the male ones. all the villains are different so there isn't a one to one comparison but generally, the reactions to villains like darius (right after his first appearance in edas requiem) and graye were a lot more nuanced. most people who talked about them were trying to write meta about them or finding them sexy or thinking about a redemption arc.
and compared to female villains like terra or kikimora? i am serious about this they were objectively more compelling villains than darius or graye in their debut, if you discount kiki's minor appearances in s1 and just look at hunting palismen, her first episode as a major villain. and yet most people talking about terra and kiki after the fact were just calling them bitches or other more sexist stuff i won't say. and being mad at them for...doing bad things to the protagonists? bc they're villains? i get the lack of thirsting but no serious meta? ive grumped about it here. also i wasn't in the fandom during the week between agony of a witch and young blood old souls where everyone wanted lilith's head on a stick but from what ive heard? yyyyeah i don't think they were just mad at her for being a villain.
same thing with the white characters people always give so much more focus on the white characters compared to the poc. luz had a bunch of angst like amity in season 1 but 99% of lumity content focused entirely on amity angst. the hyperfocus on hunter is something to note too. i get that fans love angsty characters. i do too. but him being a white boy definitely didn't hurt his popularity lmao.
its a problem in the show too so not all the blame falls on fans. the show focuses on majority white characters as well. even though the show is very racially diverse, luz's most important relationships except her mom are eda, amity, and hunter, and gus and willow are pushed to the side. same thing with their portrayal of some female characters i love what they did with terra and kiki but their portrayal of odalia...oof. i've grumped about that here.
but yeah if you point this out a lot of fans get uncomfortable or even angry at you for accusing them of, in their eyes, being a Bad Person who likes Bad Things and have Bad Thoughts. so they argue back that there's no definitive proof that any biases are happening on a personal basis. and yeah i can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law that you're actually secretly racist or sexist but if you just look at general trends in the fandom? the bias is there. it's not a problem of individual people it's a problem of fandom culture.
anyway i don't want to say fans who do this are bad people because judging by the ages of some fans toh might be baby's first fandom for some of these kids. they haven't had enough life experience to really examine their biases or even determine their principles. it would be mean to condemn kids for having biases, especially since i also did that at their age and i'm still trying to deconstruct my biases now. these kids need to learn about nuance in media and also that fandom is not activism, but it's not my job to teach them this. this is annoying but it's a reasonable price for being in fandom. especially a fandom for a show targeted at kids.

why steve rogers returning to the past was wrong
disclaimer: im clearly a stucky enthusiast, but please, do not be thrown off by that. i admit, there may be undertones of bias because of that in the following, but i did my best with trying to lay out the facts and draw logical conclusions, so do please give me a chance. also, i may have accidentaly omitted some moments and some quotes may not be 100% word for word, as my memory lowkey sucks. ALSO this is NOT a peggy hate post!! i think shes a dope and underrated character and quite frankly she was done dirty. but i also definitely h8 the trope of badass woman falls for the hero.
first and foremost, every sane person knows endgame was complete and utter bullshit when dealing with steves character, so this post will be more for you to maybe show (and hopefully convince) some stubborn friend or family member. nice, concise (not) and including proof from the movies (+a few tweets and stucky undertones, if u dont fw that i respect it but bucky is an integral part to steves character regardless of how u interpret their relationship) here is why steves character development was thrown away at the end of endgame.
let us begin at looking at the cap trilogy.
in ca:tfa it should be noted that steve had no one to return to in the 40s, except bucky. i believe steves relationship with peggy was no where near as developed as it should have been to elicit him returning exclusively for her. as we are aware, steves driving force has absolutely always been bucky. bucky was there for steve after his parents died, when he was sick, and always protected him from whatever trouble he got himself into. "until the end of the line" right? steves relationship with peggy was forced and short lived, literally, we're talking a matter of months here. i need to keep emphasising the important disparity between bucky and peggy, as it is absolutely key in this whole argument. steve dropped everything and went against every order just to even attempt to save bucky. even the slightest chance of him surviving being captured was enough for steve to break into a hydra camp and free the 107th division. steve even had the chance to capture zola, one of the main villains and masterminds of the war, but again, steve prioritised bucky. when theyre trying to escape the exploding hydra camp, the exchange between steve and bucky is critical. steve says "go! get out of here!" as all he wanted was bucky escaping safely. he put bucky's life over his own (this wasnt the first time he did this, nor the last) but bucky rooted himself to the spot, and yelled back "no, not without you!". they both escaped safely as we know, and then steve gathers the howling commandos to take down the red skull. bucky then falls off the train, nd steve blames himself for his death, even visibly crying over it twice. steves morals went from "i dont wanna kill anyone. i dont like bullies, i dont care where theyre from" before buckys death, to "i wont stop until all of hydra are dead or captured" after. stuff happens and steve defeats the red skull and is now in control of the flying ship with the bombs. he connects the comms with peggy and she tries to convince him theres another way to disarm the ship. steve was so dedicated at that point he didnt even want to hear it. he didnt even attempt to do anything to ensure his survival. this alone proves, peggy was not important enough to him to return to.
next is ca:tws. The stevebucky movie. in the museum, peggy confirms that steve saved the man from the 107th division who eventually became her husband (steve was never in the 107th, just to clarify) i believe her husbands name was daniel sousa (as revealed in the marvels agents of shield show) steve then finds out peggy is alive and talks to her. she, in short, tells him she's lived her life, and it was his turn to live his in the time hes in. the "my best girl" line was unnecessary and out of place; again, steve barely knew her. again, shit goes down, and steve finds out the winter soldier is bucky and immediately drops everything, and becomes dead set on saving him. not killing, not imprisoning, but saving him. no matter the cost. "he saw me, and he didnt even know me" "hes not the kind you save, hes the kind you stop. he won't recognise you" "he will." god, steve KNEW bucky would recognise him. regardless of the brainwashing, steve managed to break through the barrier hydra fought so hard to drill into buckys mind. nothing ever broke him out of that state exept for steve. "im not gonna fight you, youre my friend." "youre my mission" "then finish it. cos im with you till the end of the line." [[good fucking lord let me break out of my essay-esque semi professional format here and just say how fucking heartbreaking those lines are. oh my god. read them, over and over until it hits you.]] steve shows us again, that he is willing to not only die for bucky, but literally die by his hand. he would let bucky kill him. he'd dropped his shield. he didnt fight back. steve always, always, ALWAYS got up and fought back. always. exept that time. the time bucky could have killed him. that scene is the essence of "im with you till the end of the line" because then, it was true. it was true because steve was okay with dying at buckys mercy. theres a difference between sacrificing yourself for the greater good (steve going into the ice), willing to die for someone (steve risking his life multiple times in attempts to save bucky) and finally, being willing to let someone kill you, because you love and trust them so much (hellicarier scene). the difference between peggy and bucky's relationship to steve is that steve may be willing to die for either, but only willing to be killed by one. not to mention, bucky pulled steve from the river. he recognised him. steve broke through 70 years of brainwashing with such impact it literally drove bucky away from hydra out of his own free will.
in between ca:tws and ca:cw its confirmed (im p sure sam says it) that him and steve looked for bucky for two. years. even off screen, bucky was steves priority.
im going to squeeze in 2 points from from age of ultron here, for chronology's sake:
steves worst nightmare, as portayed in the movie, is LITERALLY going back to the 40s and being stuck there (with peggy too??lmfao) and also the quote "family, stability, the man who wanted all that went in the ice 75 years ago. i think another one came out." objectively confirms that steve isn't the man he used to be, and doesnt want to return to the past. aou may have sucked, but that doesn't mean the character development should be thrown away.
ca:cw. hoo boy. steve went against 117 countries and half of his closest friends and colleagues because he believed bucky was innocent of the bombing of the un conference. god, steve quite literally, did everything to defend and protect bucky. though i shall acknowledge that steve did attend peggy's funeral, however, there was no real connotations there other than the fact he was mourning her death (understabdibly so). steve then proceeds to protect bucky for 2 hours 27 mins and 41 seconds to the point where they escape together to siberia after the airport fight. "i dont know if im worth all this steve" "what you did all those years... it wasnt you. you didnt have a choice." "i know. but i did it" again, absolutely heartbreaking quotes if you read it a couple of times and truly understand the meaning of them. steve somewhat indirectly tells bucky yes, yes he is worth all of this. otherwise, he wouldn't be doing it. a quote to support that would be "for the longest time, i always did what i thought was right." (disclaimer this is not a direct quote i deadass couldnt find it to save my life, i belive steve said it at some point during civil war or tws, but the point is, bucky is the only thing that could have shaken steves morals so intensely.) and finally, the most important part of cw, the fight at the end with tony. bucky and steve constantly protected each other. steve kept fighting because he was fighting for bucky. to keep him safe from tony and the world. he got up, time and time again. "i can do this all day." the fact that he said that to tony, some people consider them the closest of friends, proves again, a million times over, bucky is more important to steve than literally anything else, INCLUDING his shield. his mantle. he dropped it and left it like it was nothing, because his priority was bucky. as always.
theres not much to discuss for infinity war other than their hug whicg was honestly just adorable.
mmmmm endgame. i will not go into how much i hate that movie because it would be a rant quintuple the length of this one. in the support group, steve dead ass fucking says "you gotta move on. you gotta move on" and that sentiment was literally forgotten at the end. my main point for endgame is this. people tend to tell me, the reason steve abandoned bucky and went back to be with peggy is because he knew that he was finally safe. :/. if you had half a braincell youd know that's not true. the steve we know, never would have left bucky for good, ESPECIALLY after the "dont do anything stupid until i get back" exchange [[god i want to beat the shit out of the r*ssos]] mostly because, bucky had fucking no one in the time he was living in!!! no family, no friends and most heartbreakingly, no one he could trust. (yes sam was there but were just seeing their friendship develop now in tfatws, all that wasnt there in endgame) and secondly, what made steve think bucky was entirely safe??? half of the worlds population just suddenly reappeared, which as we see now, there were massive consequences for that. i simply believe steve is not that stupid. steve going back was disrespectful not only to his character, but to bucky AND peggy. most importantly, the steve we've been watching since 2011 would NEVER abandon bucky, no matter how safe he thought he was (he visited him frequently in wakanda, the safest place on the planet arguably ffs) especially for such a dumbass and quite frankly, nonsensical reason as going back to be with peggy, who clearly stated to him she moved on, and so should he (which he did. idk endgame writers prolly didnt watch the previous movies :/) its not even debatable. bucky is more important to steve than peggy. even in terms of screentime.
now allow some tweets to speak for me, this one being the absolute most important one:

bucky mentions steve, unprompted, fucking constantly. he clearly isnt over steve leaving, and im hoping that gets acknowledged and talked out in the show.
in conclusion, tl:dr, steve shouldn't have returned to the past and stayed there, it is contrary to who he is, as shown to us through his trilogy and other appearances in the mcu. not to mention the timeline bullshit in endgame makes zero sense in the first place.

Growing Up is Hard; It’s Hard and Nobody Understands
So I noticed netflix has Neon Genesis Evangelion up last week and started watching it front to back for the first time ever(this happens to have coincided with me being in a down-mood for your edification, dear readers u_u), finished it today, REALLY liked it, and I wanted to try my hand at explaining what the hell is even going on in NGE cuz it actl seemed super-clear to me(a person who has been consuming NGE analysis and post-NGE media for literally 25 years) u_u
Surface Plot; Or NERV: What the Hell Is It?
I’ll try to make this as brief as possible: An organization of super-wealthy individuals calling itself Seele(looking this up, it means soul in german) wants to possess the power of God. The final third or so of the series is clear on this; it’s all about power. Ikari Yui, a geneticist, is recruited by this organization, and her husband Gendo(having taken her name which says a LOT given typical Japanese practice) comes with her. In seeking out this power, they discover a hollow sphere underneath Antarctica(”The White Moon”), send an expedition there under the guise of the UN, encounter an entity with this power which they label an “Angel”, and do SOMETHING which prompts it to explode the continent flooding the earth and killing half the population(that Gendo left beforehand implies this may have been intentional, or that a bad outcome to Seele’s approach was easy to predict, tho in typical Gendo fashion, his is the only ass he cared to save).
Afterwards Seele blame the scientists for this outcome and send Gendo on a salvage mission which recovers both remains of the Angel, now dubbed “Adam”, and a device they dub “the spear of Longinus”. Seele creates Gehirn to study these remains for practical use; they clone “Adam” and dub the result Evas(Eves). Having cloned them, they now need a way to use and control them as the Evas are non-responsive. They hit on the idea of injecting people into them via the Entry Plug system, presumably to act as a brain. The first person to try this, Ikari Yui, was absorbed by the Eva(Unit 01); the second(Soryu Kyoko Zeppelin; Asuka’s mother) was partially psychologically absorbed by Unit 02, psychologically and mentally injured by this, institutionalized, abandoned by her shit USian husband Langley who remarried to her LEAD DOCTOR, and eventual kills herself in a hanging which Asuka either is the first to discover or, given her memories of promising to die with her/begging her not to do it, was present for. An important thing to note about this: Shinji and Asuka’s ability to sync with their Evas comes from the fact that their mothers are PART of their Eva’s identity, and all of their classmates are potential pilot-candidates. The implication here is that Seele KNEW this happened when you put adults into an Angel, and they KEPT DOING IT ANYWAY to create more pilots, but there’s no confirmation of that in series.
After the attempt at human adult control fails, Gendo combines Yui’s DNA with Adam’s and creates Rei. At the same time he is doing this another team, under Akagi Naoko, is developing Magi, a biomechanical computer for simulating the human mind(again: certain implication to this re: Evas though the series never says anything). Naoko is romantically interested in Gendo, and they start getting together(Gendo’s too much of an asshole to be said to date, I think). After Rei, a toddler, tells her Gendo calls her an “old woman” in private, not realizing this is insulting, Naoko kills her, then kills herself out of shame over having MURDERED A CHILD, and Gehirn is folded into a new organization, NERV, which Gendo is put in charge of. Rei forms the basis of the second attempt at controlling the Evas; child-pilots.
How they use Rei for this I’m not exactly sure. It could be because Rei is cloned from Yui(she easily syncs with Unit 01 before Shinji bonds with it completely), or because she’s part Angel via her Adam element(Kaworu says Angels merge with one another easily and naturally), or it could be they did something with Rei I’s corpse and Unit 00(I dont see how as it seems to require a LIVE pilot). Regardless, she is raised to be the pilot for 00, the prototype. MUCH later, when the rest of the Angels finally decide to come looking for Adam, Shinji is called in, and after his success Asuka(who like Rei and unlike Shinji has been training to pilot her whole life) is called to Nerv headquarters(under Japan, in the “Black Moon”; a second spherical hollow where they found another Angel they call Lilith) too.
Regardless the child-pilots are only a step in Nerv and Seele’s plans, as Rei is ALSO the template for the Dummy Plug system, the final step in complete control of Eva units. To put it simply, the Dummy Plugs are Rei-clones without her personality or memories, and will just do whatever the heck they’re ordered to. At least once during the series(and I’d argue two, possibly three times) Rei dies and is replaced by one of these clones through some process, which involves what looks like a pre 00 Eva’s spine and probably a Magi-like backup, which transfers her personality and memories into the new body.
So what is Nerv? Well it’s hard to say EXACTLY because Gendo is in some sort of conflict with Seele(and I want to keep my watches of End of Evangelion out of this post; to focus entirely on JUST NGE itself) and Nerv IS Gendo, but as the series states repeatedly it’s an attempt to control the future of humanity by controlling what they call “the power of god” which, given that it’s what most distinguishes the “Angels”, is the AT, or “Absolute Terror”, Field. What is the AT Field? It’s a field that can make or unmake any kind of matter or energy from basically nothing, and it also seems to have a strong tie to what you could call the Ego; to desires and sense-of-self. An AT Field gets stronger when the person generating it is experiencing powerful emotions; Confidence, sure, but also Fear, Abandonment, the Will to Live, and Anger.
That last bit is very important. Why? Strong AT Field effects require a powerful emotional motivation in the pilot combined with high sync-rates with the Eva(basically a lobotomized Angel-clone) generating the Field. The three pilots we meet, the Strongest candidates, are all exceedingly traumatized people, and Gendo is the direct cause of the trauma of two of them. At no point in the series is Gendo ever a good father to Shinji, he is CONSTANTLY unreasonable, neglectful, and cruel to him; he’s kinder to Rei but at the same time her loneliness, the state of her “home”, and her lack of self worth shows that he rarely interacts with her outside of missions or explains what’s going on beyond bald facts; and he COMPLETELY ignores Asuka, a deeply lonely child with a history of abandonment and close brushes with death; he even delegates bumping her from the program. This point is important because it’s important to recognize that Gendo is a bad dad on PURPOSE; that he instrumentalizes his bad dadness to traumatize Shinji(and Rei and Asuka, though sadly the series doesn’t focus on them enough for us to see much) as much as he can, because he thinks that trauma, that emotional instability and anger, MAKES SHINJI A MORE USEFUL PILOT; ie lets him generate more powerful AT Fields. This is never said clearly, but it’s clearly what’s going on as forcing Unit 01(and thus Shinji) into awful, heartbreaking, life-threatening situations is vital to his plan. Gendo’s a piece of shit, and I want ppl to recognize just HOW BIG a piece of shit he is, because I feel this powerfully.
And for what? For Power. To be “God”. To get the highest numbers. To generate the MOST Invincible Invincibility Shield. For Ridiculous, Absurd, Childish reasons. For, you know, the same reasons rich and powerful people do all the fucked up shit they do in the real world where giant magic robots thankfully DONT exist.
And how do they plan to do this? Through “Human Instrumentation”, which will literally kill everyone by turning them all into goo.
Metaplot; Or “SHINJI! Don’t Get in that Robot!!”
So, maybe this is just because(as said previously) I’ve been reading NGE Analysis and consuming media which NGE heavily inspired for ~25 years, but I think it’s old hat at this point to note that Neon Genesis Evangelion is ALSO an allegory for becoming an adult, centered on Shinji. However, it’s just really SO on the nose in this, so PERFECT as such a narrative, that I want to run through it real quick. Also: A Cruel Angel’s Thesis is basically a thesis-statement for this series; please check out the lyrics.
So Shinji is living under the guardianship of a teacher(yup: this series even takes a swing at how our society uses schools to warehouse kids so their parents can waste their lives producing “Value” instead of raising them), when the shitty dad that abandoned him decides he has a use for him after all and calls him up.
On meeting with a child he has not seen SINCE HE WAS A TODDLER LITERALLY ABANDONED HIM ON THE STREET WHEN HIS MOTHER DIED he immediately ambushes him with the command that he get in a huge body(that he grow up) to do what? Whatever Gendo tells him to, but specifically: commit acts of violence for Gendo and Seele’s profit. He tells him this will protect people; meanwhile doing it destroys those peoples’ literal homes. The rest of the series is a series of monotonous, incomprehensible “Tests” judging his, and his peers, worthiness for approval and affection on the basis of how well they can use those giant bodies to do what Gendo tells them(so: capitalist work), punctuated by unpredictable, brutal, traumatizing, and physically dangerous events(so: capitalist work). Every friend, and the one lover, he meets, he is placed in unnecessary, destructive competition with and, when they are male, forced to attack and(in the case of the one lover, Kaworu) kill them; this last comment on homophobia is so stark and obvs I don’t even feel like you can CALL it subtext, even IF it plays out over mostly a single episode(honestly this plotline should have been given more time). And all the time they’re doing this, they must ALSO continue going to school and maintaining the front that they’re happy smiley Heroes, completely normal and not traumatized at all, and Nerv and the government that lets them run this city is a great and wonderful organization. Is this not what becoming an adult, over your teens and 20s, feels like?
And then there’s Seele and Nerv. Able to move state governments as they wish, Seele CAUSED Second Impact(Global Warming). By not returning Adam’s remains, they’re CAUSING the Angel attacks on Nerv meant to retrieve them(the threat of Human extinction). The Angels eventually begin trying to communicate and Nerv’s response? Destroy them before they can; blow up the Evas(and their pilots) if they succeed. And to top it all off Seele and Nerv are actually trying to CAUSE the very extinction(Third Impact) they claim to be preventing! Seele and Nerv are just SUCH good metaphors for capitalism in our modern day.
The transwoman reading of Shinji also seems pretty dang strong to me, though I’ll only deal with it shallowly. Shinji is the only “male” of all the pilots. Outside of command and security, most Nerv staff are women. Being an Eva pilot, being Nerv staff, is marked as “feminine”, and Shinji is an Eva pilot; is a Nerv staffer. The body he gets into, Unit 01, acts as a metaphor for the large, imposing, masculine body he’s expected to have as an adult “man”, yet it’s also spiritually his mom -feminine- and his ability to use it is tied DIRECTLY with his ability to “Sync” with that spirit; with his ease and comfort being feminine. Even at the level of mere aesthetics, Shinji’s plugsuit makes him appear to have breasts! Going a bit deeper, he initially relates to the women around him by relating to their gender. He’s most at ease with Rei because of the personality traits she shares with him which, we know from his gender-policing of Misato from earlier in the series, are traits he considers feminine(ie: he doesn’t feel like Misato has them, so he thinks she’s being a woman “wrong” and gets oddly offended by this in a way that really feels more about him than her). Asuka is constantly expressing her frustration with him for not “being a man”, ie, for being “feminine” in her eyes, and he isn’t really bothered by it(her calling him an idiot seems to stick much more firmly). Misato and Shinji establish a modus vevendi when she accepts him as he is, allowing him to do the household chores and to cook; he’s comfortable and happy when accepted into roles his culture considers feminine, while most of the series is him bucking AGAINST the masculinity forced on him by Nerv, his father, and others. Again: this is a very surface-level engagement with the subject, but even at that shallow level I feel like the case for reading Shinji as a transwoman is pretty solid.
Dislikes
It’s not a perfect series by any means of course.
There’s allot of dialogue that’s pure 90s nonsense, though the series mostly includes it only to shoot it down.
Like I said above, I don’t think Rei and Asuka really get the time or attention they deserve. In general the series treatment of women is ...Weird... especially around the issue of sex. It’s really strange; in many ways it’s far better than most anime(spcl from that period) on this. Women are ACTUAL PEOPLE with psychology, opinions, and pasts; they’re allowed to have emotions of their own, and struggles, and to be damn competent; they are independent and their own selves rather than accessories or “prizes” to men. But on the issue of feminine sexuality it just gets suddenly so weird in this very particular old-school misogynist way. Like: it treats women’s attraction and reactions TO relationships as something devoid of and impenetrable to reason, without belittling the emotions(the desire and hurt) behind those reactions. That’s the only way I can describe it, and it’s so strange to see something that is both so insulting and sympathetic at once. Oh, and the Akagis in particular are done super-dirty for seemingly no reason I can see, tho I can guess, and Akagi Ritsuki is CLEARLY a lesbian(possibly bi lesbian) and also Rose Lalonde(srsl; her Deal should have been an unrequited, unspoken crush on Misato. They openly dealt with queerness re: Kaworu and Shinji they could have done it here too).
The Kaworu storyline should have been a series of episodes or even developed from the start with him as another pilot(maybe replace Toji with him), though they’d have to tone down his weirdness, at least at the start. A deeper dive on Shinji’s sexuality(honestly his attraction to Kaworu is SO much more immediate and believable than anything we see with him and Asuka, which there is basically nothing of beyond the ep where they had to do choreography for a fight, and that’s not developed on) would have really been appreciated, and having Kaworu be a bigger part of the series would have facilitated that.
Also honestly the whole series feels a bit rushed? Spcl the second half. Like I said: I haven’t done any followup reading lately, but I remember there being some budget problems or something, so maybe that’s the cause. Ironically it might actl also be why it’s as GOOD as it is; having to keep it short forces you to write concise and lean, and that’s probably why its themes and message are so clear. But, I’d have liked more rambling for character development, and more time spent on seeing Rei and Asuka react to the stresses we saw Shinji face(also they never really get moments to shine like he does; another negative common to the medium and genre). Asuka in particular, as a Japanese German with a USian temperament abandoned by her parents, already an outsider in SO many ways, coming to live in an entirely different culture where she’s even MORE of an outsider; forced to live with people(Misato and Shinji) she finds it impossible to relate to or connect with; who has literally NO ONE beside a single adult guardian who totally blows her off THE WHOLE SERIES after delivering her; PLUS her awful past: there’s just SO MUCH material I’d have loved to see explored more slowly and with greater depth, detail, and sympathy even if what IS there already is pretty powerful and effecting. She’s SUCH a good Vriska(so I’d also have loved to see her break more shit too >:>)
Conclusion
So Anyway: I really liked this series. It had its problems, there are things I’d have liked to see, but it absolutely deserves the reputation it has. I might write more about this, I might do a watch through INCLUDING End of Evangelion(which actl makes much more sense having watched the series, though having done so makes Shinji’s masturbation scene comPLETELY out of left-field like where the hell did THAT come from); we’ll see.

You had been crushing hard on Anastasia from afar, she always carried herself with such distinction and poise, when she walks into a room it's like she owns the place. Her actions, words, even her heavy Schneznayan accent makes her seem like royalty from old books of knightly kings in shining armor.
So when you went up to her, trying to see if you could subtly ask her(read: be painfully obvious in your desperation to be her lover), you expected to be shot down in the same way most people were by her. With the dreaded, "oh you want to be super best friends? Sure!".

As you looked around the floating island, taking in the Inazuman themed furnishings, complete with a rock garden and samurai statues! In the center of it all was a grand building that reminded you of a painting of the ancient, pre-Baal era Inazuma capital.
"Amazing isn't it?" Anastasia said as she took your hand, "reminds us all of home. Come on, let me show you the inside!"
Inside you found her family waiting patiently at a table, with one empty seat...

A Dendrodsprite slinkied up your back and on to your shoulder.

A light shone from behind the curtain causing a cloaked silhouette to appear on it, the silhouette then stood up and walked out from behind the curtain and into the room.
He wore a multicolored cloak going from a hooded and half masked head and extending to just below his knees, and beneath that he wore black colored leather.
"My name is Spritefather, and I do believe you're name is (y/n)." he said.
"Y-yes sir!"
"Oh please no news to be so formal," he says as he tale the seat on the other end of the table from you, in the seat facing him to the door, "call me dad."

"It's ok! As long as you make her happy you can date her! And I'm so sorry I made you uncomfortable! You're my lovely child in law and your perfect just as you are!"
He hugged you the entire dinner(unless you asked him to stop).

It was a bit hard to write for the kids part, as I know reader insert fics are done for self fulfilling fantasies (which is perfectly fine) so I wanted to include scenarios for every type of person I could. And I really hope I didn't leave anyone out.

(took a while to answer this because hooo boy you have awoken the beast)
alright so imagine you were born to a legendary demon and a human woman and you also have a twin brother whom due to various circumstances you end up fighting to the death, but then after that you choose to take a jump into hell and face the ultimate demon king of evil (who is a bastard) and then you LOSE so he turns you into a knight/demonic slave through torturing you and breaking down your entire sense of self. you follow so far?
so after all that, your twin brother ends up defeating you (again) and in doing so frees you from the enslavement of said bastard demon king man, only now you’re dying and your body is falling apart because of all the trauma and abuse you have gone through...
and in a fit of desperation, you take the magical dimension cutting sword that you have and drive it into yourself to cut off the “weakest” parts of yourself...
and out pops this guy! your goth twink human side!
(long and incoherent ramblings about why V is important and why i love him below)
so V is one half of vergil, the other half being urizen (V is 100% human while urizen is 100% demon) and he’s basically got vergil’s last braincell and whatever remains of his empathy, while urizen is vergil’s demon half run completely amok with nothing to rein it back in
though this doesn’t mean that V is a particularly nice or morally upstanding person. he’s got maybe 30% more morals than vergil (though that practically makes him a model citizen by comparison) and his motivations do start from a selfish place of wanting to remerge with urizen so he can be a complete person again. (he’s also slowly dying after being split off because he doesn’t have enough power to sustain his frail body)

however, seeing the damage his demon side is wreaking on red grave city, V does realize “hey all this death is Bad and im going to help these Silly Humans” which is HUGE character development for vergil who has a track record of Not Giving A Fuck about humans at all
he spends about a month before the main bulk of dmc5 starts helping people who are still alive get out of red grave and killing demons there. such a good boy!
he’s also a little unhinged but like. sexy about it.
oh and probably the most hardcore thing about him? he has three demon familiars that are bound into his skin
^these three are manifestations of vergil’s trauma and nightmares, also cast off of vergil when he split himself. V takes them and uses them to fight, so yeah. he literally reclaims and uses his own ptsd as a weapon, while also reading william blake poetry to power up. did i mention he reads poetry? whenever he wants to be a cryptic fuck to another character he will just pop out a blake quote and it’s kind of amazing how shit this guy is at social interaction huh.
griffon (the bird) and shadow (the panther) are noteworthy because of their personalities. they deeply care about V (and vergil too), but that doesn’t mean they wont give him shit, as seen above :3 just the cutest nightmare abominations ever. griffon kind of acts like a guiding force/morale support/resident shittalker and most of all, mother hen to V to keep him from getting himself killed because. well. V is incredibly reckless and might not entire realize humans can indeed Die From Things

THE WALTEN FILES: my jumbled notes on my blind run-in with this web series
first off this is gonna be long and unorganized, also this is my second time writing this as i had lost literally half of my progress and im This (imagine two fingers almost touching with a 0.0000000001mm distance between them) close to ripping all of the fucking hair out of my goddamn head. but now this will be extra long and yes, i will lose some accuracy to my first writing but thats okay ill probably edit this a kajillion times over
which brings me to my next tangent; im literally braindumping here. so to have a smidge of organization all afterthoughts, edits and corrections will be boldened, i forgot what im gonna do with italicized text but ill probably bolden it here yeah im pretty sure its for side tangents, separate from Corrections, which are in bold. also theyre for emphasis too.
so in general, this post right here is all of my notes i wrote down on my grid-patterned sticky notes (which i used WAYYYY too much of) about the first 3 uploaded walten files youtube videos transferred onto my handy dandy digital notebook, this b(l)og. yeppers peppers. you know im serious about this shit when i typed probably over like a thousand fucking words including boldened shit, italicized shit and motherfucking links, lost it ALL, and im sitting here re-typing it again.

clarifying this now, im gonna put some useless shit which i thought was code onto this because even though it was useless it was part of my notes and im physically going to combust if i dont put down every single thing i wrote on my papers. so what i thought was code was in the closed captions, i started writing it down when i got to the second video but came back to my first videos notes to include them. i wrote down the first letter to every word that was capitalized in the closed captions, which i had on as a default because number one i knew going into this id need them because most web horror things like args and cryptic shit like that has some of the most crucial shits in the closed captions. number two i am autistic and have auditory processing issues and have most closed captioning on as a default if theyre available.

i started drawing little stars to write down things i thought would be super important or to 100% look at again. the first subject of this pointy torture was the part of the video where at 3:00, i marked it down to make sure to reverse the audio as it was most definitely a weird audio that has that signature warp-y effect that makes sure you KNOW its in reverse. i then listened back to it Very carefully (still got it wrong) and got this: “you finally start to remember. that old doll. they will look out for you soon” im also pretty sure i heard “sophie” at the end of that audio but im not entirely sure and dont remember and i dont wanna go back to check lmfao but anyways it didnt matter because i was wrong anyway. after i had finished all 3 walten files i watched the film theory video on the walten files (which didnt cover all 3 but was dece.) out of curiosity and to hear matpats signature silly little voice explain some stuff i already knew, and click some shit in my brain that i couldve thought up of if i was a bit more... i dont know honestly. anyways yeah so the actual audio is “you finally start to remember. that old day. they will look out for you soon.” so yeah. day, not doll.
i then wrote down “sarah evelyn”, the name on the bons sleepover animation (i dont remember if she created it or animated it or whatnot) and scribbled will she matter? under her name. turns out no, as i didnt see her name in the rest of the series, let alone the first video. this is also a great time to mention how matpat theory helped me realize that the walten files are collections of videos, uploaded onto youtube by anthony. (i already knew about anthony as he signed his name in the descriptions of the youtube videos, making me categorize this overall web series more into an arg type genre.) but yes, the tapes, recorded “irl” footage, animated clips, vhs tape recordings and other audio-visual content is all collected and labeled the walten files, as i had mistaken each video to be a tape. stupid me. alrighty, onward!

Frieza for the character ask, please. I want to know if there's something you like!
Give me a character and I will answer:
Why I like them: I tend to divide all of Dragon Ball canon into two sections: the part that’s about Dragon Balls, and the part that’s about Super Saiyans, with DBZ Episode 66 as the dividing line. And Frieza’s original run as the main villain (Episodes 44-120) straddles that line.
He’s basically a bridge between those two themes. He starts off as a villain gathering the Dragon Balls to extend his rule, much like Emperor Pilaf or Commander Red, but he’s so insanely powerful that it almost doesn’t matter if he makes his wish or not. The only thing that gives him pause is the possibility of a Saiyan uprising, except there’s only a handful of them left in the universe, which means the only way they could threaten him would be if one of them suddenly became the strongest Saiyan in a millennium.
My favorite aspect of Dragon Ball is that it keeps raising the stakes. Vegeta was presented as the ultimate threat, and then it turned out that his boss is the strongest guy in the universe. And he’s treated accordingly. It takes forever to defeat him, mostly because it’s a lot safer to sneak around and avoid the guy, and when a final confrontation happens, no one has the necessary power to finish him off.
Somewhat understandably, a lot of fans think of him as the Final Boss of the Dragon Ball mythos. Goku becomes a legendary warrior to defeat the strongest guy in the universe. How do you top that? A lot of fans think that it was a mistake to try, and I’m pretty sure that’s where a lot of this “Toiryama wanted to quit after the Frieza Saga” mythology came from. What they’re really saying is: “I think Toriyama should have quit after the Frieza Saga, and I assume he agrees with me, because I respect him so much, which must mean someone forced him to continue.”
But I think that’s bunk, because Toriyama’s best work was built on Frieza’s vaporized corpse. How can you keep a martial arts epic going when the hero is stronger than the strongest person in the universe? Toriyama took that as a challenge. The androids could be stronger than Frieza because they hadn’t been built yet when Frieza was riding high. Cell and Trunks could be stronger than Frieza because they’re from the future. The Supreme Kai and Dabura were stronger than Frieza, but they don’t count because they’re from other realms beyond the “normal” universe. Majin Buu could be stronger than Frieza because he’s from the distant past. He’s been hidden away in storage for so long that no one remembers him. Same deal with Beerus literally sleeping through all of Dragon Ball and DBZ. And guys like Jiren and Hit are from whole separate universes. All Toriyama had to do was avoid introducing some ultra-powerful character who had been active during Frieza’s lifetime. The only one that springs to mind if Cooler, although he admits in Movie 5 that Frieza had an edge over him throughout their rivalry.
So I like Frieza for being that big milestone character. Guys like Cell and Majin Buu wouldn’t work as well without a Frieza to set them up as extraordinary challengers.
Why I don’t: The problem with Frieza is that his importance to the franchise has led to him becoming overrated. He’s got this 70-episode run as the main villain, but he spends most of it sitting in that goofy chair and literally refusing to do anything, even while his soldiers keep messing up. When he finally does take matters into his own hands, he holds back, apparently because he wants to torture his opponents as much as possible before finishing them.
People give Goku a lot of shit for showing mercy to his enemies, but no one ever seems to notice how Frieza could have wiped out Goku a hundred times over and just... didn’t. At least when Goku does it, you can say it’s because he’s too nice, but what’s Frieza’s excuse? There’s a lot of big long chunks of the Frieza Saga where literally nothing happens because the good guys are too weak and Frieza’s in no particular hurry to end it.
By contrast, you have villains like Buu, who really don’t waste time like that. He started killing people and while he wasn’t in any particular hurry, he didn’t drag it out either. In less than 48 hours, he destroyed the whole planet. That’s service.
I cannot stress enough how Cell is the superior villain compared to Frieza. The only lull in his run was when he declared a truce to allow his enemies to prepare for the Cell Games, and they were free to attack him during that time if they wanted. And there was a point to that. Cell had no particular agenda, so he decided to arrange a rematch with the Earth’s fighters.
But when Frieza wastes time, it’s for plot reasons. He’s just really lazy and unmotivated, or maybe he’s just incompetent. But the wider fandom sees this jackass and goes “RARRR BEST VILLIN 5EVAR!” Nah, he sucks.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): For my money, the coolest thing Frieza did was when he came back as a cyborg. He kept trying to declare victory in his fight with Goku on Namek, even after cutting himself in half, and then Namek explodes on him and he still won’t let it go. His dad finds him and after a long convalescence he decides to go to Earth and fight Goku all over again.
What makes it so awesome is that the cyborg parts are a silent testament to how monumentally stupid that idea is. All this guy had going for him was his top spot on all the power level charts, and now he’s lost that and he has no idea how to get along without it.
And this is why I hate the idea of bringing him back from the dead, because there’s nowhere left to take this character. He lost on Namek, and Episode 119-120 was just his last-ditch effort to defy reality. He doesn’t know how to survive in a world where he’s not the top dog, and he doesn’t survive, that’s the end of that story. Bringing him back just repeats the lesson, only without the cool cyborg parts to remind us that this never works.
Favorite season/movie: I guess Frieza Saga by default. It’s got some great moments in it, but it gets really thin in places.
Favorite line: “Peace? I... will... never... know peaaaace!” Or words to that effect. Whatever bluster he shouted at Goku when he tried to take that last shot at him before Namek exploded.
Favorite outfit: The cyborg look.
OTP: I guess he has the hots for Yamcha, so let’s go with that.
Brotp: Yeah, right.
Head Canon: Between the lore in the Bardock TV special and “Dragon Ball Minus”, I get the impression that Frieza is concerned with legends in general, not just the one about the Super Saiyan. I say this because in “Father of Goku”, he sent Bardock’s crew to conquer Kanassa, and the only apparent reason for this was because of the rumors of their psychic abilities. Frieza was likewise intrigued by the Namekian regeneration ability. I think in at least one translation he expresses some envy of Nail’s power, implying that he would want to find some way to acquire it for himself.
What I’m getting at is that Frieza’s so powerful that the only things he has to worry about are things that may not even exist. The Kanassans were probably no threat to him, but he may have considered that they could be, so he wiped them out before it could come to that. Or maybe his staff discovered a tale of the Kanassan planet being the source of their powers, so he decided he needed to control that planet before his enemies could use it against him.
Same deal with the Saiyans. in DB Minus, I got the impression that he’s got a whole team of researchers who check up on local folklore. Maybe they do this everywhere he goes, and he uses this intel to decide which planets live or die.
Unpopular opinion: Frieza’s main contribution to the Dragon Ball franchise was to provide useful genetic material for the creation of Cell, the true best villain.
A wish: Hit and Majin Buu kill his ass and Grand Zeno, Great Priest, and Shaggy Blanco all hold a press conference announcing that he’s dead forever and can never come back, no matter what. He gets sent to the same turbo super hell they have in Supernatural.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Please don’t do any team ups with old villains and have Cell take orders from Frieza. That sucks and it shouldn’t happen.

I'm replaying Old World Blues with some mods, and I don't mean any crazy shit like replacing the roboscorpions with thomas the tank engine or fully automatic fatmans with infinite ammo or anything like that, just some skybox & lighting improvements so the nights are actually pitch black with stars overhead, high quality texture packs, the ability to see your own body while in first person, sprint using AP, menus showing more than just 6 items at a time, anti crash, stutter remover, flashlights, higher hardcore tics (so you actually need to sleep eat drink etc at normal times), difficulty readjustments (it's skyrim's legendary, which is 1 step higher than fallout's very hard), more crafting recipes so half the shit you pick up isn't just completely worthless anymore (like literally 75% of food items), inventory sorter (so aid is sorted by what's a food, a drink, a chem, medical, etc, misc is sorted by what's ammo crafting or mods or quest items, etc, ideally I'd have something that separates guns melee and explosives but it's fine), rebelancing tweaks in general, and like a billion extra cool dungeons. anyway I remembered just what makes OWB my favorite DLC and it's the sheer openness and ability to do whatever you want whenever and in whichever order, the incredible writing both in the characters and in the environmental storytelling and tying in with both dead money and lonesome road, the awesome exclusive loot, the location itself, and the presence of an actual boss battle at the end, plus completely different ending sequences based on whether you actually did everything or not incentivizing you to fully explore everything.
of course it's not perfect. three times so far I've been walking with no red tics in sight and then suddenly at 5 & 8 BOOM have 6 nightstalkers 5 cazadooors~ 4 lobotomites 3 pig dogs 2 sentry bots and a partridge in a pear tree inside your ass. a lot of bad collision data, poor geometry, dumb invisible walls, excruciatingly stupid AI, and other bethesdaisms plague the overall experience. and really if I didn't cheat my max carry weight to be 10000 more than it should be (because fuck carry weight, it's such a dumb archaic system that I refuse to take part in in any 3D shooter-RPG; if they wanted me to use a limited inventory system, they'd have an attaché case, like deus ex) it would be worse because I'd have to go back and forth between each dungeon several times just to get all of the scrap metal, duct tape, ammo, and drops for repairs every single time because j sawyer only wanted you to carry 60 lbs TOTAL and only begrudgingly let us have 160 instead. if dark souls got rid of the item burden and it's supposed to be the shining example of RPG realism of the 2010s then I DONT WANNA FUCKIN HEAR IT FROM PEOPLE WHINING I "CHEATED".
however even with what few issues remain after fixing the shit out of it with a million mods it's still one of the most genuinely enjoyable experiences in a video game I've ever had. and I've not even talked to my own brain yet.
and when I'm done with that, now that I've done honest hearts, dead money, lonesome road, and finally old world blues, I can just fast travel back to goodsprings and talk to sunny smiles and start the game from the beginning with one very important detail. I nuked both the NCR and the Legion before even leaving Doc Mithell's house in accordance to the game's canon. I have only ever gone the NCR route, and now they will all shoot me on sight. this is going to be FUN.
I love new vegas, best game ever made 11/10 and if you disagree with me you're wrong

oh yall thought i was done x posting? lol. kamui character rant under the cut
the thing about kamui is i dont know that hes a very deep character??atleast not how clamp has written him and esp not in the manga.
he spends a lot of the manga being confused and often manipulated. and hes really just a kid.
his first big character arc is debastardization basically. when hes introduced hes a TOTAL asshole (the anime added scenes to make him more of a dick at the start but also has a bit of an explaination? ill get to it). hes shown as very rude to everyone around him, yelling at people to get out of his way or get lost, including his previous friends. hes also shown to have absolutely no care for his surrondings and regularly fights and uses his powers in places where bystanders could be injured and leaving roads bridges or nearby buildings in ruins. when confronted about the latter by hinotos knight (his name is saiki) he straight up says he doesnt care if anyone gets hurt. which i mean ok nothing wrong with a character being an asshole. the extreme in your face way kotori and fuuma describe kamui as a kid being very shy and Very quiet and gentle makes this characterization confusing but hey people can change i guess. the confusing part is that as kamui slowly beings to let his guard down he says that the big reason he was so standoffish especially wrt kotori and fuuma was because he wanted to keep them at a distance so they wouldnt get involved with all the end of the world stuff. which makes sense obviously! kamui was absolutely aware of how dangerous it might get. his entire plan was to get the shinken (the sacred sword) and bail because he didnt want any part of any of it. what i dont get is why he was totally cool with bystanders being injured or killed. during his fight with saiki they were in a neighborhood! on people roofs and shit!! saiki is the one to lead them to an abandoned construction site so no one gets caught in the crossfire. and kamui almost kills saiki!!! which i will let slide a bit because kamui was being followed and had been attacked by spells literally that morning. but later on he apologizes to saiki but never explained his reasoning why he didnt care about destroying peoples houses??? and its never brought up again?????? also theres a scene added to the anime where he kicks the shit out of kotori and fuumas dad??? because he wouldnt give kamui the sword?? bro thats ur best friends dad you jackass!!!!!
in the anime they added flashbacks for the time after he moved away from tokyo which i think make his whole character make much more sense. when he first moves and goes to a new school he accidentally uses his powers and makes everyone afraid of him. fast forward past elementary school to high? school? its unclear. at school hes a lazy slacker that never goes to class and never talks to anyone, big ol loner. he sees that a local gang has been stealing kids money and beating them up. so he decides to put on a tough guy persona and confront the gang telling them to knock it off and scaring them shitless with some fun ass kicking psychokenesis. now i am SO on board with this addition. kamui being ostrisized for being weird and scary when hes already a super shy kid, so he embraces this scary intimidating image and tries using it for good because hes still ultimately kind hearted. he gets too absorbed in this tough guy persona that he loses touch with the original purpose of it and just uses it as a shield because he himself is afraid and confused. and maybe even hiding behind it because hes so afraid of having this huge destiny that he doesnt know if he can live up to and how can someone who decides the fate of the world be just some quiet oversensitive guy.
except all of that is my own speculation and analysis because they really do not go into ANY detail about this. i wouldnt say its to the point where it feels like they just flipped a switch and hes nice now but it def feels like that. and it annoys me because after he kind of apologizes for being a dick it doesnt really get brought up again?? i think he broods over it once or twice. but i would have really liked to see flashes of it coming back in high stress situations or something? he has a lot of points of grief and depression but its always meloncholic rather than angry and it really makes him feel like two different characters i wish it was way more of a mix.
anger would also be good with the whole overarching theme of trying to break out of the path destined for you. its constantly said that theres only one future by the dreamgazers although hinoto wants to change it. its supposed destined that kamui will lose and earth will be destroyed. anger but more importantly PASSION is whats needed break out of what has been preordained and to carve your own path. passion is also whats needed for the main part of the second half of kamuis character arc, figuring out what it is he REALLY wants. what his true wish is.
i also think anger could have been a good inverse to the deliberate mirroring of kamuis character and subarus character. subaru really represents despair and being completely swallowed by grief. his story is that the man he fell in love with (named seishiro) was just manipulating him for fun and is actually an emotionless assassian. subaru is so destroyed by this realization he goes into a depression and because of this is unable to save his sister being killed by seishiro. his goal is literally to be enough of a nusance to seishiro that hell kill him. literally he wants to be acknowledged as important enough to bother killing. its pointed out often how subaru and kamui are so similar, with how fuuma killed kotori, and how theyre both kindhearted ro a fault. its an intentional reflection. subaru even pulls kamui out of a similar depressive state after kotori dies. he and kamui have a whole heart to heart about how some peoples happiness can look pitiful to others and how hes going to fufill his goals even when other people are worried for him. and most importantly about how not everyone can be happy with an outcome. i think it would have been really good for subaru to represent someone overcome with depression about how awful the world is and paralyzed with that sadness and kamui would be the rightous anger and compassion needed to actually change the world. “lets this radicalize you rather than lead you to despair” you know? it would have been a really good parallel considering part of x’s themes are literally about having compassion for humanity. but that reading possibly shoots itself in the foot because the language used wrt the two possible futures are things to stay as they are or for a “revolution” to occur, meaning killing everyone to let the earth heal. so ideas of change are insinuated to be connected with the seven angels and genocide. which uh. not going to get into that.
i do like when he starts going to the clamp school he goes back to being shy and quiet and kind of gets pushed around by people with more force of personality. very fun uncomfortably relatable. its ok man im extremely passive too.

tl;dr/conclusion/my thoughts: hooooo boy so i see why everyone likes 1960 one better.
first, lets start with the obvious: why this isnt lord of the flies. because its not. if this wasnt telling me that its lord of the flies, i would think of it as that, really. first off, the conch. the conch represents civility, it brings them together. its important. when piggy dies, it dies, representing how all civility is now gone. i maybe saw the conch three times this movie. didnt do anything.
second, the pilot, captain whatever. the point of the beast to me is that they made it up. sure, the corpse was real, but it didnt pose a threat, it was simply a corpse. they made it into what it was, therefore proving that they are the beast. sure, the pilot here was harmless, but he grbbed a boy’s foot and was therefore making himself a possible threat. maybe its not a big deal i guess.
third, the characters. the point of lord of the flies is that they are rich kids who havent gone through anything. theyre the perfect, spoiled kids who havent done anything wrong. half of them are in choir. chOIR. in this movie, lets take jack for example. they said he stole a car and got sent to military school. no. the point of jack is that he was a perfect kid. leader of choir. he was manipulitive and got even ADULTS to trust him. its part of hs character, showing that this perfect choir leader kid went fucking insane to prove how literally everyone can be evil. also samneric???? the direspect!! they were loyal to ralph until they were tied up and FORCED to join jack, and even then, after roger like beat the shit out of them, they were STILL loyal. fuck you.
so those are the MAIN reasons why it wasnt lotf.
now, what i liked i guess.
the swearing was NOT lotf, and it didnt fit with the story, but ill admit that i laughed, so i guess thats a plus.
second, i liked how they showed the gore, i guess? sounds weird, hear me out. lord of the flies is a gruesome, violent, awful book. theres descriptions of death in detail, and im so glad they showed it. when simon’s body was there, literally torn to shreds? the shock of it, the true savagery you see that these boys murdered him SO violently, is amazing, because thats the essence of lotf. simons death shows how theyve lost all their civility, and showing such a gruesome corpse really brings that through. so good job.
and now, of course, the obvious: thats not the characters i pictured when i read the story. simon doesnt look like that, ralph doesnt look like that, jack doesnt look like that.
where did the choir go, too? forgot to mention that, and i think that also adds into the whole, theyre supposed to be perfect kids and then become savage thing. also, the choir was a group. they voted for jack and went with him for a reason.
so yea, thats that. dont know why people would read this lmao but thats my thoughts!!!! i just need to keep myself busy when i watch movies and to make sure i focused, i figured id just write down my thoughts as i went. if u wanna watch for free, look up lord of the flies 1990 google drive.

Democratic Debates, Day 1
So a few ground rules:
If you’re going to reply, be an adult about it, and don’t try to read everything in bad faith default lens. Ask questions of anyone who engages rather than accusing. And not in that presumptuous white guy bad faith questioning that isn’t a question tone.
If replying, put your comments with a lead in no longer than two (reasonable) sentences behind a cut. Because
some of us are fandom blogs first or whatever interests and our followers aren’t deeply invested
I just don’t want goddamn pillars of text on my reblog wall if I respond to discussions.
Literally if you’re a republican out to just be a shitlord and start whining or complaining or insulting or “no u”ing, see rule 4
I will not reblog or reply to any commentary that doesn’t fit these very basic guidelines, because internet trolling etc is not worth the future of our country. And that’s very much at stake now.
If you don’t want to see this, blacklist #politics and/or #democratic debates. Now, my takeaways on this, some surprising.
So, I’ll start with some disclaimers: I’m pretty much “vote for my dog over Trump” party line right now but we need to figure out a mix of “our best chance of winning” along of “award for the least tool” with hopefully a side of “I really like them and their policies”
Honestly, I entered this without being fond of Warren. She had some... establishment backing and other things that were just rubbing me wrong. I actually went in to day one looking to hear about Tulsi since I heard great buzz about her but honestly had only pulled up a few pages that sounded great on paper, but wanted to see her in action. Everyone else was littered policy ideas disembodied and, as a very visual person, I need to be able to connect to how they handle their podium beyond writing nice policy platitudes or listening to the toss back and forth online with everybody screaming at everybody else.
I’m also going to get something out of the way, and BEFORE you flame me on my marks on the image, read why I selected one that... I generally wouldn’t. First, this was my original graphic I released.
Okay so sore thumb here: De Blasio. The reason for the circling being simple: if you took every semi-valid idea of every other white guy’s platform on this lineup, gave it a little bit of meat, and showed ACTUAL LIVING PROOF OF HAVING ENACTED IT ALL IN HIS TENURE AND MAKING THE IDEAS WORK, you get De Blasio. A lot of the ideas of the other nominees is basically *hand raise* “I did that.” So like. That’s that.
Anyone with no mark whatsoever is kinda like “you’re there and not trump so good for you” but there’s some updates further down this conversation on one of those.
The internet keeps acting like Klobuchar did well and I really don’t get why. It kinda feels like our token non-canuck trying to appeal to them-there northern hunter-type and cheese folks to reach out as a middle ground without actually committing to much and honestly, she’s just not going to last.
Booker caught my eye even if I was kind of head tilting because that is quite literally the whitest black man I have ever fucking seen, but he made a point about intersectionality, marginalized groups, and held his ground. He was all but unknown to me but I at least looked at him now. On the other hand, a lot of it felt like borderline pandering. I don’t know. I’ll keep an eye on him, but he actually stood out a bit at least. Not hard with the mayo jars up there but whatever.
It’s not a rare take online that Castro took the internet by storm. I love him. Everyone loves him. I do have some concerns long-term though; it’s less having actual problems with his ideas and more knowing that ... our country is too fucked for him right now. He’s advocating some pretty heavily open borders and while in principle I enjoyed watching him stomp on Beto about that, I honestly feel like if we put him against Trump, we’d lose.
There’s people in the red party that ARE tired of Trump, that ARE experiencing a crisis about the inhumane shit going on at the border, that WOULD be willing to crossvote to make it end -- but we can’t forget that a lot of them initially voted for Trump BECAUSE of a deep seeded Xenophobia, and the level of aggression -- again, the kind of aggression I personally agree with -- Castro had may end up being very dangerous long term in getting that vote. Pretty much everyone up there agrees we need very comprehensive immigration reform and immediate action about the travesty, but I feel like unless Castro smooths his roll a bit we’re in for a long term faceplant that gives us another four years of Trumpian hell by people pulling back into their xenophobic mindset and -- if not voting for Trump -- abstaining from voting for him, which I think several other candidates have in their court.
Castro made a bit of a gaffe about switching trans genders but the fact that he tried, I guess. And considered trans in the discussion of choice and birth control etc. It could have very easily just been a stupid fumble. He’s still trying to take it into account. I can forgive that, in the scale of it, even if it has a bit of performer aspect.
Also I’m left to wonder where Castro was when they needed help running in Texas to begin with. I also just don’t see the passion in his eyes of several candidates, it’s strangely calculating on most topics. I like his platform, in theory, but I’m very cautious.
Jay Insley is just weird even if everyone likes him.
Dulaney is a meme and I don’t know why he’s even here.
Tim Ryan accidentally wandered in on his way to the Republican debates as best I can gather.
Tulsi was the one that I was watching. All in all, I was underwhelmed. And then... it got worse.
The better part of her time was spent repeating her time in the military. And while it was great watching her school Tim Ryan, that’s not exactly hard to do. The fact that she lit his ass on fire when he just about self combusted in front of the party without her help -- I mean, it was the highlight of her showcasing aside from the snazzy Rogue hair.
Somehow, for as woke as tumblr is, and the progressives that had me looking her way, I hadn’t heard of her anti-LGBT past which she’s mostly couched her opinions on and held as recently as 2014 or THE FACT THAT I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT SHE WAS VETTED BY THE FUCKING TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TO BE ON THEIR CABINET, I’M FUCKING HORRIFIED.
BUT THEN THERE WAS THIS LITTLE GEM THAT I FOUND BEFORE ACTUALLY DISCOVERING THE PREVIOUS PARAGRAPH.
What the FUCK? What are you, seven? That’s literal pre-emptive “my sister stole my phone lol sorry” level tweets. YOU’RE A FUCKING PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TALKING ABOUT IMPORTANT NATIONAL MATTERS LOCK YOUR GODDAMN PHONE.
Because THAT’S just what we need, we’ll go from Trump impulse-tweeting to like “LOL fuck korea - lmao sorry my sister texted that”????
Neverminding how STATISTICALLY INCORRECT that is. Depending on exactly HOW you count time Warren got 2nd or 3rd most time -- yes, more than Tulsi. She did not have the most. She did not have “more than all the other candidates combined.” And Tulsi did not have the least time, but center-ground on time. She wasted a bunch of it endlessly reciting her time in the military, scoring an okay shot on Ryan, and... well, vagueblogging about her opinion on LGBT to the vein of “something something equality my bad I was raised conservative” great. Great selling point. Great couching there. Five years ago you were fighting against me having rights and now you’re basically against government deciding what people can’t do but what the fuck is your opinion on me as a human being?
Doubling back from that problem though, that’s when I dug in her LGBT history and ended up tripping over the Trump stuff. AND THIS IS THE CANDIDATE I WENT IN TO HEAR FROM TONIGHT LIKE “YES PLZ LET ME HEAR MORE” because people I knew LIKED her, but then I find out she’s a Trump frand that has Trump-like hyperbolic meltdowns on twitter? NO I DO NOT WANT FEMALE TRUMP WITH ROGUE HAIR THANKS BUT NO THANKS.
Back to Warren, who I started with a MEH on, she came out WICKEDLY strong out of the gate. Her second half was weaker, she kinda has next to no active plan beyond talking/passing around more research on gun reform, but everything else, yes. Do I think she has the potential weight to pull it off, yes. And most of all, watching as she gets mad, upset, or emotional, do I believe she believes everything she said tonight, yes. Look, I know there’s STUFF about her claiming she had Native American heritage or whatever but I’m honestly so far past giving a fuck about the obscure shit like that if they have decent policies because our country is so FUCKED right now that I DONT CARE. She held her ground.
So in the end my spread ends up looking more like
of day 1 contenders, Warren still maintains her strong chance. Castro kind of sprouted up out of the earth and I really goddamn like him, but I do hold caution for my reasons above, because again, our country is THAT FUCKED.
Booker really turned some heads and I liked him Booker... Booker’s very concerned about a lot of marginalized intersectional issues and it took him from “who the fuck is that” onto my radar which is a leap, but he didn’t drill in as hard as Castro did to my mind and I feel like he’s just... I dunno, I could be wrong but I feel like he’s gonna fade. Beto, IDK, still exists, isn’t an embarrassment and doesn’t just morph in with the other white guys up there. He’s not Trump. So I won’t delete him, but let’s say he barely, and I mean BARELY hedged into my consideration in this image, I almost just cropped it over to Warren.
De Blasio is just sort of “status quo, but actually enacts it” but I wouldn’t weep to see him vanish, either. In the end out of this debate though, I see like

ON THE OTHER HAND, MOST CANDIDATES I’M ACTIVELY INTERESTED IN ARE ON THE FLOOR TOMORROW, WHICH BY THE LINEUP IS SLATED TO BE A BLOODBATH.
I’m really, REALLY hoping everybody has the common sense to make such an ass of Biden he’s knocked out early. Like that’s part of why I’m so goddamn interested in day 2. If we end up with Trump vs Biden we might as well all just put on our goddamn clown suits but he has the fiscal backing to push through even if he shouldn’t unless he’s utterly DECIMATED early on.
I don’t like Kamala Harris’ prison industrial complex CRAP but I’d be HAPPY to watch her drag Biden around like a wet rag. Sanders is a given point of interest. Buttigieg is another one to watch. Yang... isn’t... gonna last. But is just sort of a ... fun thing to watch I guess in this mix up. Someone else may surprise me, I don’t know.

and that misadventure is HOW GAME PLOTS HAPPEN IN CHAOSVERSE
holy shit the full version of High Flying Groove is really good. anyway
i dont have like.. everything planned out yet, but there’s some stuff i DO have planned that im really excited about and usually i just talk abt Forces but stuff happens in the previous games too, yall! go crazy aaa go stupid aaa
SADX & SA2 are still being worked out which is why i havent started writing yet but, SA2 does have some fun stuff in it?
like Chris! haha whoops. Chris is a whole-ass adult in CV and helps Team Sonic out, and is up on the ARK when things go to shit. also he might get kidnapped instead of Amy as bait for when Sonic gets shot out into space? he’s also a man that makes a whole lot of mistakes.
those mistakes include [drumroll] creating Sonic! well no that wasnt a mistake but not telling her until like literally during Cannon’s Core is. Sonic’s an artificially augmented hedgehog that was engineered to have higher aptitude for using the Chaos Emeralds, kinda using Project: Shadow as a baseline. she does not take this well! or well she gets over the actual backstory part bc she is not the type to give a fuck for long but finding out that a good amount of people in her life knew or suspected it and just outright hid it from her really Gets to her yknow
also Shadow is... really weird in CV... they’re basically their own species and that species is “mobian hedgehog / black arms cyborg science hybrid” and they dont so much as get mistaken for Sonic as it is that Sonic is deliberately framed by GUN to cover up Shadow’s existence. Amy still needs glasses though. ilu amy
also Shadow does actually die at the end, like they dont miraculously survive the fall theyre just... dead. but between SA2 and Heroes Eggman finds them and repairs them, and also creates the Shadow Androids to both figure out how Shadow, like, Works and also bc an army of Shadows sounds like a fantastic idea
i havent figured out a whole lot about Heroes yet but Neo Metal Sonic is actually pretty important as far as lore goes bc the liquid metal thing actually ends up becoming a setup for a WHOLE lot of stuff to happen! woo!
also, after Heroes, Metal Sonic doesn’t get ditched and instead Tails takes them home! and they basically do that scene from IDW where Tails and Sonic like half-repair them and offer them the choice to stay, but instead of the hand-slap exit-stage-right thing Metal actually accepts! kind of. they still have a grudge against Sonic and try to beat her up a lot bc of their programming but Tails is working on fixing it and theyre friendly-ish to everybody else. Tails Receives A Friend
ShTH is SO incomplete but some important stuff happens in it! i mean, obviously Shadow is here. also at some point i found a route that makes the most coherent sense for Shadow’s character arc but i dont remember it offhand
uhhh one of those important things im just realizing might make more sense to get moved to Colours bc uh, Colours is... something. Colours has a whole lotta stuff happen.
the other important thing is Double is here now! Double used to live in Westopolis but then it got exploded, so he joined up with GUN to help fight against the Black Arms and was also p hostile towards Shadow. Shadow kicked his ass :,D this also led to a whole lotta stuff like Double meeting Vent later down the line and a lot of OC plotline setup
06 doesn’t happen. there’s some other unrelated adventure in Soleanna though but i dont have anything abt it planned out. Silver and Blaze might still show up there though! originally they were gonna get introduced in Forces but i think itd make more sense for them to have like, more history to them. they probably do the thing Archie/IDW Silver does where they hop back and forth in the timeline a few times trying to figure out what causes their future to go to pants, only for it to end up being bc of Forces so their timeline is FINALLY averted and they cant go back so they just. live here now. woo
i mentioned Zero Gravity is important and here’s why: it’s the arc that introduces none other than ya boi SIK THE HEDGEHOG. although he’s going by SK back then! he’s, like, 14.
the Babylon Rogues initially mistake King for Sonic so Jet gets all fighty, and then like near-immediately realizes his mistake but oops King is REALLY into having a rival now so he just. wont let it go.
Team Advance also ends up with an Ark of the Cosmos! they might get one instead of Amy, i dunno, havent figured it out yet and i need to rewatch cutscenes. either way, Sik gets ahold of it in an attempt to prove himself to King bc King is an asshole, which gets them involved in the plot further beyond just “King really wants to race Jet” and Team Advance works together with both Team Sonic and the Babylon Rogues to stop Master Core: ABIS and the lightless dark etc etc.
however shit kinda goes sideways during the ending in which like, theyre able to stop ABIS but have to figure out how to use the Arks to stop the black hole which is now A Thing and being A Problem, and Sik ends up in actual legit danger before Team Sonic & the Rogues are able to save the day (Team Advance is kinda busy trying to not die), theres a funny bit at the end with everyone safe and Sonic complaining abt what they just went through in a call-forward to Colours where she has to outrace ANOTHER black hole (and loses. oops) while meanwhile Sik is lurking around in the background and quietly makes the decision to leave Team Advance. this is also where Sik gets a really debilitating phobia of heights and weightlessness/falling :,) which comes back in Forces! bc Infinite is a douche. sorry Wayne
Unleashed is shaping up to be pretty fun so far! Chris is back and takes the place of Professor Pickle, bc after the complete disaster that was everything he did in SA2 he decided to settle down and become a university professor while also continuing his research into Chaos Energy on the side, hence him finding and studying the Gaia Manuscripts. him and Sonic also have a lot of tension between them still bc of what happened in Cannon’s Core but Chris is trying to make up for it and also hes able to explain why Sonic’s brand new form happens bc it’s a side-effect of the Chaos aptitude... thing
speaking of characters getting swapped out: the Dark Gaia Phoenix isn’t a thing! instead one of Seven’s friends from before she joined Team Advance, Lynn, is in training to be Chu-nan’s Gaia Temple guardian but falls victim to DG’s corruption and Sonic has to fight him. i really need to do more with this guy.
Chip exists and i love him. also the Gaia Colossus doesnt happen, instead Chip’s collar is like a power limiter thing and so Sonic takes it off and literally ends up fighting alongside an actual god in full-on god form against DG and i think that’s cool as hell. and also apparently something me and jorb came up with independently? its just really cool, yall. also Sonic keeps the collar as a bracelet. like it doesnt.. go away. she keeps it and hides it under her glove cuff.
ALSO this isnt really like a major story alteration or anything, just a fun thing that i figured would make sense to happen in the leadup to Unleashed: Tails makes an AI! or rather he gives the Tornado-2 an AI and she later ends up getting moved to and living in his handheld computer NICOLE-style. her name is Ripley and i love her.
NOW WE GET TO COLOURS and Colours is. basically like 3 games stapled together! Colours, Lost World, and [drumroll] CHRONICLES.
it is VERY rough rn but: Eggman finds out about the Wisps and about Colour Power and everybody goes on a big ol space adventure to stop him! in the middle of the chaos, the Mauraders show up and kidnap Knuckles + steal the Chaos Emeralds. initially Team Sonic thinks theyre working for Eggman (who has enlisted the help of Zavok, a Wisp hunter) but they just have really bad timing
in CV, the Twilight Cage isn’t a thing: Nocturne just got launched into deep space, and the Mauraders have been living there since as like, basically space pirates? and didn’t even realize Mobius was their home planet, they just dropped by to snag the Chaos Emeralds, met Knuckles, and freaked out + kidnapped him bc “YOU’RE AN ECHIDNA, WHY ARE YOU AN ECHIDNA????” and there’s a whole thing with Ix wanting to invade Mobius and reclaim it + wipe out everything but he gets his ass suplexed and Shade joins up with Team Sonic to help with the main plot. also some of the Mauraders do return to Mobius and re-integrate into society but an amount of them stay in space because they enjoy being space pirates i guess.
also Nocturne would take the place of Asteroid Coaster! and Lost Hex is here instead of Sweet Mountain. there’s not really a theme park thing though, just like a bunch of worlds Eggman invaded while hunting down Wisps.
MEANWHILE IN THE MAIN PLOT the whole thing with Negative Colour Power happens and Sonic’s like “that’s fucked up!” and tries to put a stop to that, only for Tails to get captured and used as a test subject for the roboticization process that would later be used on Vent, Brooke, and Aile! Tails is able to sabotage it like in Lost World, but the most that does is stop him from being fully converted and Eggman overrides his free will and personality with Negative Colour and throws him at Sonic for baby fights to happen. Sonic is able to break through to him, but Tails has no idea how to turn himself back and is stuck as a cyborg for the forseeable future.
ALSO ALSO the Blue Typhoon is a thing! and Chris is also here. and originally i was considering having the seedrians show up during ShTH but they might fit better here? i dunno! maybe a specific seedrian character shows up in ShTH and then shows up again here. ~Work In Progress~
and then the BIG THING which is Terminal Velocity and the ending! the “Tails gets kidnapped” thing happens during the leadup to Terminal Velocity, so like Sonic has just befriended Shade and are like YEAH LET’S DO IT TOGETHER and Tails gets kidnapped and they have to fight and etc. after what happened to Tails, Sonic isn’t willing to risk anyone else getting put into danger so she decides she can do the rest of the plot herself and shoves everybody into the Blue Typhoon (AKA NOW SHE HAS LIKE.. A BETTER REASON FOR THE ELEVATOR SCENE IN COLOURS.......)
Sonic is able to take down Eggman’s Nega Wisp Armor, only for him to try and fire the Negative Colour beam anyway and for it to self-destruct like in the game. CUE YET ANOTHER FUCKING BLACK HOLE and Sonic having to outrun it and failing, only to get rescued by the Wisps canceling out the Negative Colour and the Blue Typhoon coming to the rescue so she’s not lost in orbit or anything. insert callback to Zero Gravity with Sonic wondering if she should put “outran a black hole twice” on her resume and Tails pointing out a) she doesn’t have a resume and b) she didn’t exactly outrun the second one
and then they go back to the planet as cool and blue as Sonic and the leadup to Forces happens!

Miss Jacki’s Wincest World
Tonight I have Wincest on my mind... I usually do, but more tonight than normal so Id like to share with anyone interested, my thoughts and headcanons about it, and maybe those of you who read this, may view Sam and Dean’s relationship a little differently, or, at the very least, see there are many ways to enjoy Wincest, and maybe even inspire you, writers and artists, to create around this view. I know not all my followers dig Wincest, so I’ll put in a cut so as not to spam your feed with something that may squick you. Anyone who is interested, please feel free to comment, ask me stuff, or share your own view. So click the cut, and enter if you dare 😎
I want to start off by stating that Im not into m/m sex, and I definitely don’t have an incest kink, however, Sam and Dean have something very special that I noticed and loved immediately when I first started watching. The first time we see the brothers together, I was hit with “WOAAH easy tiger” Dean’s smile. a breathless Sam “Dean?!” and I knew, this was gonna be interesting! At first I was intrigued, but still a little put off with how thick the subtext was, with all the sexually charged pushing each other into walls, unnecessary touching and grabbing, and heart eyes they would look at each other with, I remember thinking “the writers know they're brothers.... right?”But it wasn't long before I found all this downright adorable. and though I didn’t think the brothers have sex, when Dean sold his soul for Sam, I knew they had an unmatchable love. Something that goes far beyond familial love to something none of us will ever experience.
I don’t know when it happened exactly, but by the end of season 4 I was thinking “If they had sex, would it even be the worst thing they’ve ever done?” Sam and Dean do immoral, unethical and illegal things all the time, but for good reasons, so, if they crossed that line into banging each other, it would be for a good reason. Like, they love each other more than words can express and need each other more than oxygen. So really, is it a reach to think it would become sexual at some point?
I know it won't ever be canon, and honestly, I don't want it to be, but it’s obviously something the writers have always wanted us to consider, a risque thought to entertain, and maybe even accept between the 2 of them. Jared and Jensen aren’t offended by the thought, they play into it at con panels and on gag reels. Sometimes the show jokes about it, and the cast and crew even play into it. It was great to learn I wasn’t alone in thinking Wincest is the best ship ever!
Now, my headcanons and preferences are different than many other Wincest shippers, and that’s fine, there's more than one way to love this pair. but I must say that it makes it difficult for me to find a fic that matches my opinion. It’s not your fault, it’s that I am a picky little shit, and though I accept and respect the views of others, for my own personal satisfaction, sex between the boys has to be a certain way, or it doesn't do much for me.
I know for many, if not most of you, like the idea of the boys being sexual since they were young. I am absolutely turned off by any underage sex... Sam and Dean or anyone else... and I am also turned off by them being an age that wasn't played by Jared and Jensen. All that aside, I do understand the romance of the thought of the boys, lusty and passionate for each other and tearing at each other in the Impala after a hunt, that's all good, but for me I like all that tension to build up all these years, through everything they've been through together, and how they've felt when they were apart.
I've never felt that the boys lust after each other. It's pure honest love. They see each other as beautiful and the center of their universe. The sun rises and sets just for each other. It’s not “Damn he has a hot ass” (for me anyway) I don't think either brother is bisexual. This would mean they have an interest in men as well as women, and neither has shown they have any interest in men at all, but they have a bond with each other, that even they don't fully understand. They just know they belong to, and with their brother, in every sense of the word. Even death doesn’t part them. In fact, Death tried to, and Dean killed him 😉
I see them as not being together romantically until recent years. In fact, the later their “first time” is in a fan fic, the better. The longer that tension builds over surviving Hell, dying over and over, fighting, reuniting, watching people they care about die, and a world they've saved half a dozen times, still crumbling before them, Finally, the boys have nothing left to fear and give themselves over to each other.
To get more personal, and maybe even a little smuttier. I dont see either as specifically a top or bottom ( hehe) I think they switch depending on the mood. I think Sam loves his role in Dean’s world. The little brother that Dean would sell his soul to protect. Dean wants to be sweet and gentle with Sam. Worship him inside and out. This works for me because if you have noticed, when Dean barks and bristles up to Sam, Sam rolls his eyes and pushes through it, but when Dean talks softly or expresses how important Sam is to him., Sam melts like cheese on a hot plate. Dean enjoys melting Sam 😊
Dean, however, loves that his little brother is big and strong and nerdy as he may be, is a lethal mofo if someone hurts or threatens Dean. When Sam makes love to Dean, he likes to be a little rough, playful,. not overly aggressive. He likes to take control and Dean gets all tingly when he does (that's literally canon folks hehe) If you've noticed, when Sam argues with Dean but is being the nerdy, logical peace-maker, Dean rolls his eyes and blows him off. However, when Sam expresses emotions, whether he’s angry or sad, Dean listens and softens up to him. Dean responds best when Sam is passionate and emotional.
Dean also likes to feel Sam’s size and strength. As protective as Dean is, sometimes he needs protection himself and loves that his nerdy little brother is a freakin tank who would let the world burn to protect him.
Sometimes, sex is just fun. Awkward and sloppy. Laughing because they're too big to do it comfortably in the car, or maybe they played a stupid drinking game or lost a sexy bet on a football game. They trust each other implicitly and experiment sometimes, and both are comfortable enough to say if they like it or not.
Wincest is just the best, isn't it? The show has done well at painting them as a married couple. Nowadays, Dean hasnt even shown much interest in finding a chick and getting laid, and Sam has had sex once in 6 years! They may never admit on screen that the boys have sex, but they’ve made it obvious that they dont need or want other people for anything anymore. 💕😍
