I don't speak often but the hyperfixation is eating me alive and I wish every Malevolent listener today a very please watch the Invictus Call of Cthulhu streams I can't be one of the only people losing it about ep 39 and everything that's about to happen probably next episode. Something I find absolutely fascinating is how Orpheus and Alice actually alternate between playing the roles of Orpheus and Eurydice.

We meet Orpheus in his namesake's role - a detective revisiting the place of his past, rediscovering his memories - venturing into the underworld to find what he's lost.

As we learn more about him, he seems to be more and more of the "Orpheus" - looking for his Eurydice in Memory, the fact that it's implied in the Memory Pages that he started everything for Alice - to try and get her out of the asylum when he was denied the right to adopt her. The fact that he loses sight of Alice, loses her as he loses himself in his reconstruction of "paradise" to the point where he might not even recognize her when she arrives at the manor.

But Alice is also looking for him. She returns to her place of memory, to the underworld, looking for him. Again, the Memory Pages tell us a lot - that once she knows he's here, she wants to save him. That she's willing to do anything for it. That they lose each other, in the end.

In mythology, Orpheus is a musician. The game makes a point that our Orpheus likes music, but he claims he isn't any good at playing it himself - Alice, however, is.

"Don't look back" and "Face it, and it'll all be over" - they seem like opposites, but they're two sides of the same coin. Because Orpheus does look back, he *keeps* looking back, and so does Alice. "Don't look back" is a warning that always goes ignored. In the new tutorial cutscenes, we see Alice able to leave, but when she hears Orpheus's voice, she *looks back.* Neither can leave the other behind in the underworld.

My boss hired a 2nd intern (I'm the 1st) and the new intern is here for work study so he's not even getting paid.

I considered quitting cause there's not enough work for both of us but the new intern can complain to the boss or find a new internship if he wants to learn more from the job.

I wish I could help this kid but I can't generate learning experience jobs out of nowhere. Wish I could quit and let this kid get more but I need this money too.

I blame capitalism.

Okay so I'm shit at writing and I still don't really like doing it that much but

I've been trying to do it more cause it's summer so that means I'm sick a lot and drawing requires sitting up for long periods of time and it's a little hard :')

So while I don't have Anything finished or like presentable in anyway that I could post on ao3 would anyone be interested in me just posting the little stuff I have?

Making a side blog just for that seemed a little overkill so maybe just throwing them here could work?? But I'm not sure anyone would be interested

my mother taught me to crochet when i was young. she was left handed, so she taught me how in the bathroom mirror so her hands would be in the right position.

she learned to crochet from her grandmother, who was right handed. her grandma was the one that originally used the bathroom mirror to teach her granddaughter properly.

i find something poetic about that. here in this bathroom mirror, through generations, we adapt to our young who have a different way of learning and interacting with the world
