I can’t do this fic justice in bullet points. One of the most beautiful things I have ever read in my life. I binge read this in an entire night and every second of it was so enjoyable, even when I was violently sobbing. Criminally underrated, fantastic deaf representation, and it tackles grief in such an eloquent way that I truly think everyone should read it.

The hunter is a monster, a titan, not a boy. This is a fact he has known for as long as he has lived in the forest, for as long he can remember. The forest is quiet but for the crooning of birds, the rush of misty water into the hidden valleys and the deep lumbering steps of his kin. That is until the day that changes everything. The day the humans came. The day he saw his human for the first time. One the hunter will never forget.

"The newest arrival was a 15 meter but quite unlike any Titan they had ever seen. It was thin and lean with muscles on its muscles. Sunken eyes sharp and glowing, really glowing, green over a hooked nose. Lipless serrated teeth formed a strange mocking Cheshire smile as it looked at them. It then fell to it's haunches and propelled itself forward with truly frightening speed. Cries of panic ran through the squadron as they attempted to spur the exhausted horses even faster. This panic gave way to shock however when the green eyed Titan pivoted, rapidly changing direction and barreling into the group of Titans, toppling them over like wooden bowl pins. There was a moment of silence in the squad then- "WHAAAAT?!" Exclaimed Hanji in extreme disbelief."

An Unexpected Ally by certifiedclown (Rated M, 29 610 words, multichapter, incomplete)

He screamed with excitement as he flew through the trees gripping the silver sticks tightly in his hands. It had taken him a few months, but he'd done it. He was thrilled. Now he could be like his human. He could help rid the world of his brethren. He could finally see his human up close. With his new body no one would notice him. He would wait for his humans pack to venture outside of the safety of their walls. In the meantime he would make the world safer. He would kill all the titans he could. Every last one.

A Poisoned Chalice: noun, an assignment, award, or honour which is likely to prove a disadvantage or source of problems to the recipient.

Eren is a titan living outside the walls, living in complete isolation by avoiding other titans. When the Survey Corps comes and Levi is attacked by titans from left and right, he is saved by an aberrant titan. Eren’s curiosity has lead him down a path where he far out of his depth.

A story where Eren has only known his life as a titan and saves is taken into the walls and is expected to live as a human. How does a titan who knows next to nothing adjust to living a life behind the walls?

I just finished SB and i just had to tell you that you're one of the best writers i've come across (and i've read my share of fanfiction) The slow-burn was so incredibly worth it this recent chapter, and Eren and Levi's characterization is so good! Reading SB has brought me so much joy, and i can't express how grateful i am to you for taking time writing this fic (and still updating it) At this point i kind of wish it would never end, haha :)

I thought people would come for me with pitchforks and torches like ‘you made us wait this long for that mediocre atrocity??’ But no, people seemed happy, so I’m happy :~)

I was so worried it never would end! It seemed so endless, and before this latest chapter even I was like ‘when is it happening?!’ But it happened, life will move on now.

We have decided that we are going to do a fic of the month starting this month! The rules are as follows:

Must be ereri/riren centric fic or oneshot

Must have been updated within the year 2017 - it does not have to be updated within that month. We realize that would be way too specific.

It can be a completed/incomplete fic.

It can NOT be any of the fics that won awards last year. We are trying to help broaden the fics that will be showcased, and we feel like this is the best way to do so. It would not be fair to have the same fics winning the awards every month/year. The following fics will NOT be valid submissions:
