Can a sexologist share my details without my consent?
Tumblr media
In the age of digital information sharing, concerns about privacy have become increasingly paramount. Individuals seeking professional guidance from sexologists often find themselves grappling with questions related to the confidentiality of their personal information. In this comprehensive guide, we aim to address the query: Can a sexologist share your details without your consent?
Understanding the Foundations of Confidentiality in Sexology
Confidentiality is a cornerstone of ethical practice in the field of sexology, especially when seeking the services of the best sexologist in Prayagraj. When you engage with a sexologist, whether in person or through virtual platforms, you are entering into a professional relationship where the safeguarding of your personal information is of utmost importance. This commitment to confidentiality is grounded in ethical guidelines and legal obligations that sexologists adhere to diligently.
Legal Framework Governing Confidentiality in Sexology
To assuage concerns about privacy, it's crucial to understand the legal safeguards in place. Sexologists, like all healthcare professionals, are bound by stringent laws that protect the privacy and confidentiality of their clients. Laws such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the United States ensure that your personal information remains confidential unless explicit consent is provided for sharing.
The Role of Informed Consent
In the realm of sexology, informed consent is not just a procedural formality but a fundamental aspect of the therapeutic process. Sexologists are ethically obligated to obtain your explicit consent before sharing any details about your case. This consent process is comprehensive, ensuring that you are fully aware of the extent and nature of the information that may be shared and with whom.
Exceptional Circumstances: Balancing Confidentiality and Duty to Warn
While sexologists are committed to maintaining confidentiality, there are exceptional circumstances where they may be legally obligated to breach it. The concept of "duty to warn" arises when a sexologist believes there is a credible threat of harm to you or others. In such cases, the sexologist may be compelled to disclose information to protect the safety of individuals involved.
Protecting Your Privacy in Virtual Consultations
With the advent of telehealth and online consultations, ensuring the security of your personal information during virtual sessions is crucial. Reputable sexologists employ advanced encryption methods and secure platforms to uphold the confidentiality of your data. It is advisable to choose licensed professionals who prioritize the privacy of their clients in the digital landscape.
Red Flags: Recognizing Unethical Practices
To further safeguard your privacy, it's essential to be vigilant for red flags that may indicate unethical practices. Legitimate sexologists will always prioritize your well-being and privacy, and any deviation from this commitment should be treated with caution. Be wary of professionals who do not clearly communicate their confidentiality policies or those who seem reluctant to obtain your informed consent.
Conclusion: Navigating the Landscape of Confidentiality
In conclusion, seeking guidance from a sexologist should not compromise your privacy. Understanding the legal framework, the role of informed consent, and the exceptions to confidentiality empowers you to make informed choices about your personal information. By choosing reputable professionals and remaining vigilant for potential red flags, you can ensure a secure and confidential therapeutic experience.

THE BROTHERS PAOLO AND VITELLOZZO VITELLI
man. the fucking. cycles of violence going on here. war, condottieri brothers, the execution of paolo vitelli (but the on the matter of guilt: questionable! no proof besides the absence of potential violence, but what conspiracy-betrayal wants to leave behind proof? torture and execute him anyway. maybe machiavelli has a point! unfortunately you left a surviving brother), the congiura della magione, all of it coming together at the strage di senigallia. just blood and gore and war all the way down, never stopping for a breather, already on to it's next battlefield. also malaria is there!
in other news! it turns out if you want to draw a comic about the strage di senigallia, you have to figure out designs for all the people in the room, but if you draw vitellozzo, you also have to draw his brother because he's like. there. in a dead way. something something vitellozzo's desire to avenge his brother manifesting in his desire to brutalize florence for their role in his brother's death.
that said, I did not want to draw military armor for an illustration that was partially designed to test out some splatter brushes. in the future though….I will have to revisit that visual…..

writing this eda-centric princess AU fic is very funny and sad, as most things about this AU are. mainly, it's the first time i've explored what luz's separation anxiety actually looks like in action. like the series has illustrated that she HAS separation anxiety and WHY she does, but this is the first installment where she Actually Is Separated from hunter. even though it's through exactly one (1) wall & she knows she can walk out to check on him at any moment so it arguably doesn't even Count
the thing making this very funny instead of just tragic is that luz's approach is to go "i do not have separation anxiety, actually. i'm not anxious at all and i don't even know what the word anxiety means and i'm going to Prove It by Not obsessively going to the window every two minutes to check that hunter still exists. i'm neurotypical and always have been. i am the Most neurotypical. i'm concentrating really well on diplomacy and being normal because i don't have separation anxiety. nobody would notice a thing wrong if they looked at me right now because nothing is wrong :) yay :) :) :)"
while eda - who has ABSOLUTELY no context for Any of luz's shit, besides knowing that belos was abusive - is just like "hey, listen. kid. no offense but. i think you might be the single most anxious person i've ever met in my Life."

Remember kiddos, polygamy and polyamory was only demonized for four core reasons:
Tw: homophobia, sexism, religious commentary, political commentary, oppression
1.) America wanted more taxes
Part of the legal institutionalization of marriage is that there is tax benefits for the individual parties when they get married, and financial ties/power is attorney between married people. It becomes messy when these ties extend to multiple people/marriages and the I*RS wants they tax money, and America would rather just make an entire way of life illegal than make laws and systems that accommodate people. See point #4 for more on that
2.) Puritan culture (aka thinly veiled sexism)
Puritan culture relies heavily on systems of control that villainize sex and women (that's a whole other conversation but I won't digress), and lots of marriages/polygamous marriages having sex with each other is obviously bad bad bad!! Hard to control!! Save the defenseless women from their pimp husbands! Orgies, the devil's work! And...
3.) Homophobia
Good god, women being in marriages together! Married to a man, but what if these women end up by being married to each other by extension! And having sex with each other! And what if a woman marries more than one man! Would these men become inferior to their wives? Would one of these husbands be less dominant than another? Would the men function in these complex marriages like a woman?! Disgusting! That's gay (derogatory!) Would these husbands be having sex with each other? But that's gay and gay is bad! Sex is bad! God, purge these sinners of their Sodomy!
(Surprise surprise, homophobia has very little to do with actual gay people and has everything to do with puritan culture, control, sexism and the demonization of sex, and points two and three are actually the same thing)
4.) Christian nationalism
Polygamy and nonmonogamy is normalized and integrated with several non-Christian and alternative Christian cultures going back thousands of years, like Islam, Mormonism, feudal Japanese/samurai cultures, Hinduism, several Native American cultures, etc... even in the Bible in Judeo-Christian history and biblical era cultures nonmonogamy was normalized. Banning nonmonogamy in America is banning the right to engage in non-christian religious rite and practice. It's only something criminal to post-puritan Christians and those beliefs becoming law, regardless of other religious beliefs and practices also existing in America, is the unseparation of church and state.
So before you tell a polyamorous person "oh that's cheating with permission" or "I could NEVER do that," or "I love my partner too much to do that/cheat like that," remember that these are the institutions and the propaganda you're upholding with your judgement. Supporting/ being kind about polyamory is religious tolerance, and biting your thumb at the I*RS.
Tl:dr, the dissolution of separating of church and state, puritan culture and the sexism/homophobia associated with puritan culture is why nonmonogamy is demonized and why polygamy is illegal in America.
Tone indication/post intention: satirical and exaggerated tones criticizing longstanding institutions of oppression with the intent to explain why judging, hating or criticizing nonmonogamous practices is oppressive and a result of propaganda. This post is not intended to persuade people who practice monogamy to practice nonmonogamy instead or to demonize monogamy. It is intended to advocate for breaking the stigma around nonmonogamy.

hot take: finn coming out as genderfluid does not give us any information about his internal experience of gender (he was already by his own admission practically genderfluid and happy about it), and i think the main point of it was so that he could be open about being on HRT without certain effects he clearly doesn't want of the official label "hrt femboy"
(his income source has apparently been mainly his "battlepass" for a while, and given that, it is unsustainable to hide the boobs he's probably going to get)

To herd things back to more practical ground - there is a certain stripe of western ""leftist"" that really likes to accuse committed anti-imperialists of moral posturing. (Or, in the more mask-off honest version, simply admits to not giving a shit about foreign policy when there are so many problems closer to home.) Obviously the first and by far the greatest problem with this position is that it is morally bankrupt. But the other reason guys like the union president quoted here ("I don’t make a lot of judgments on anything other than, what can you do to keep the people I represent in work?") make me feel completely unhinged is that this outlook is also so shortsighted and self-defeating.
You cannot disconnect foreign and domestic policy this way. It's absurd to believe that you can. It's absurd because the wealth and security of the west is poisoned by the violence committed to acquire it; because a just, free, compassionate society that runs on imperial plunder is - and this should be obvious!!!!!! - a contradiction in terms. The world in which you solve an empire's problems at home and then move on to dismantling empire abroad does not exist, will never exist, cannot possibly ever exist.
You cannot have a society that sustains itself through violence and does not relentlessly leak violence into the groundwater.

Hope you don't mind my opinion, but hard agree. I ESPECIALLY despise people, extremist vegans in particular, who will try to "convert" their animal to a diet that they can't survive on! If you want an animal that can subsist off the types of food you feel comfortable purchasing, research research RESEARCH to find one that fucking can!! Like they don't even want to try, they just want a more conventional pet... GOD it's infuriating and I feel so angry for that poor animal :((
That's the thing, they don't want to do the research because they don't care about the animal's needs or wellbeing. They care about how owning that animal makes them feel and/or the attention they receive for having something exotic.

An earnest interrogation of our systems of knowledge reproduction is what I live for, as a disability advocate and student of decolonisation. But whenever I see someone griping about how inaccurate Wikipedia is, dollars to donuts they turn out to be either a right wing covid truther or a Tankie. I'm sorry that hard facts and other people's lived realities are inconvenient to your worldview boo. Here, have a lollipop. 😂

A lot of you out there took "there's no ethical consumption under capitalism" to mean "all consumption under capitalism is equally ethical" and it shows.

Kai did fall quite easily into vigilantism after completing his degree of medicine and nursing, of course it was the simple things first, take care of the hurt, patch it up, not be really bothered to avoid a quirk use violation on his "healing" quirk (look, it is easy to forget a child that was never registered, but it isn't much easy to do so with a quirk so specific, so maybe Kai quirk description can be a bit more misleading than it let's on, but any precinct near would know better than to mess in the head of the family business).
But things escalated as they do, so sometimes Kai has to protect himself and victims, or potential victims too, he takes a liking to use his full respirator mask while going out in the night, his hood hides his purple hue. And white and covering his whole body are just the procedures of course. It makes clear what he left out of his almost impenetrable defense when something gets to him, and it is easier to clean than most people think!(Oboro:I would like to object that Bleach and Blue Soap just aren't good for any clothing-)
When one of the tugs, someone who lived to fight and had a whole story about it, asked his name. Well, Kai isn't the most creative of the bunch. Overhaul, the Alchemist is born in a fighting ring rigged with slavery, but Kai was a vigilante for years beforehand.

Tumblr media
#i haven't read past it but it's obvious this is such a character rebuilding moment for vash#the way vash 'peace and love' stampede who refuses to kill and wants to be kind to all humans is confronted with a deeply recurrent ethical#question in our society which is : is it ok to kill someone if they have committed an atrocious crime?#he is obligated to ask himself who is he to impose his beliefs on this man that is carrying such a deep wound and hurting with him because#of the person he wants to save in a matter of seconds...#it's him coming to terms that peace and love are good in theory but in practicality morality is so much more a grey area than his - until#now - black and white thinking#if my beliefs are wrong does that make me a bad person? but are my beliefs wrong if my intentions have always been the best?#idk vash being the character he is has always had great potential to be thrown into situations that challenge his morals and deep rooted#beliefs besides the humanity vs plant motif and i'm so glad he is being presented these fille as#dilemas* (pardon)#it's very satisfying and i'm very excited to see the way he will handle all of this and what he will take from it#also excited to see nicholas' stance and progression throughout the manga#trigun has been such a pleasant read :D#all the characters are so good!!!!#i'm also surprised how the story is so different from stampede#i can't wait to know more about knives in the manga#so far i'm enjoying knives in stampede quite a lot (also the fact he named himself post everything and hasn't been knives from the start)#i thought it was a cool detail#anyways that's all#i had to make a post cause i can't find any post with this scene and this made me extremely excited 😂#trigun spoilers#< gonna tag it for the people reading the manga atm like me i hope this is okay tell me if you want me to tag it differently
