So, about that interview where Lee said "I will tell you what I think philosophically, that isn't telling you what is in [Frozen 3]. I think Anna and Elsa's journey is only continuing. It was warned by the Trolls that that Elsa's powers would only grow. So that's all I will say."
Did you manage to find the full clip? I've been searching a little and yes, it's a real interview from Wish premiere https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vhg-WzSl6n8&pp=ygUUSmVubmlmZXIgbGVlIGluIHFpc2g%3D Not from 2018/2019 or anything like that. Unfortunately the full interview is not on YT and I don't know where else to look for it. And I think what she said is very bizzare, because it sounds exactly like Frozen 2 plot? Why would Lee talk about Frozen 2 five years after its premiere to some random interviewer, though? Especially when she was there to promote Wish. So maybe there's a chance the beans were spilled and she really was talking about Frozen 3.
The only way to find out the truth is to watch the full interview... which no one knows where to find. Arrrrghhhh
If the clip is an interview from Wish’s promotional period, then it’s safe to assume that Lee is indeed talking about F3. Thank you for finding out more about this, and going the extra mile! I’ll try and look to see if I can find the full interview as well.
In terms of F3 being about Elsa’s power growing— I think exploring Elsa’s magic again is expected. The Frozen franchise, as evident in the title, is all about ice/snow magic. The story is loosely based off of the Snow Queen, also a story that has a lot of magical ice.
Frozen’s main conflict was about Elsa setting off an eternal winter, and how she was going to control her magic.
Frozen 2’s main conflict was where Elsa’s magic came from and how this question is affecting everyone.
While there are other plots and themes, the main pull is the magic. Thus, F3 taking this approach as well is not really shocking or disappointing to me.
Also, given that Elsa and her magic is the main attraction of Frozen, it’s pretty self-explanatory where the focus is going to be.
However, this doesn’t mean that this will be the only thing that the films will focus on. As mentioned, there are other themes and plots that are part of the first two films. Just because we’re getting a film that is exploring Elsa’s magic, doesn’t mean we won’t have Anna, Kristoff, Olaf side plots and scenes— or the themes of love, fear, and sisterhood.
Also, what Lee said is very vague. Elsa’s magic growing could mean a lot of things. She could discover a new power, or creates something more advanced than Olaf, the snowgies or Marshmallow. Maybe it’s a more philosophical thing, as Lee mentions herself, and the idea of Elsa’s magic ‘growing’ could mean that Elsa is becoming more noticeable by other places, people, or by other fanatical/mythological beings.
Ultimately, we have to wait and see what she could be talking about before we jump to conclusions.

I sometimes see this being debated in the fandom, but seriously, thinking about the franchise's plot, does anyone really think it's a good idea for Agnarr and Iduna to come back to life in F3?
Tumblr media
For me, this is one of the ideas that is practically impossible to happen, just like "Frozen 3" becoming "Star Wars 9" to please those who didn't like "Frozen 2", but I decided to talk about it.
My personal opinion is that they should be of almost no importance. I don't want F3 to be once again Anna and Elsa dealing with their family's legacy as it was more or less in F2 and F1 if you push it a little, but rather about the legacy itself that the sisters built.
So imagine what I think about characters established as dead coming back to life? I don't even like the idea of Kristoff's parents returning and we don't even have two plot lines about them, imagine the sisters' parents.
If I were the writer of “Frozen 3”, the most we would have of Agduna besides the obligatory flashback scene with her daughters, would be the sisters using their parents’ memories to advise each other. Elsa can bring back memories with her magic and Ahtohallan's help, have the Snow Queen do it a few times to use them as examples and/or have a nice family moment and that's it. But leave the two dead and their problems in the past, for that we have Mari Mancusi who loves writing about the couple.

FROZEN 3: Anna & Kristoff getting married seems the perfect excuse for something to happen
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personally, the choice to leave Anna & Kristoff engagment to the end of F2 seems far too conscious to not use their wedding as an incipit for a third installmeant, most importantly if we consider how the plots of the previous two movies started:
Frozen has Elsa's Coronation Day (Summer), an event that exposed her to people and her Fear to hurt others, but also Anna's (only) chance to find Love;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Frozen 2 started with the Harvest Festival (Autumn), celebring under the winds of Change the open gates and the life Anna & Elsa built in Arendelle thanks to their Love and the support of Kristoff, Olaf and Sven;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why do I find it a far too conscious choice? Because Frozen 2 has been built as a direct continuation of the first Frozen, at the point that, even if three years have passed, the only events referenced are those seen in it, and certain concepts and phrases return (and do not forget of all the parallelisms):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another important detail is related to Anna herself: her deep Fear of losing Elsa is not simply because she's living the life she hoped for in Arendelle, but is most importantly a consequence of the weight of Hans's actions (if I remember correctly, the directors confirmed this fact):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the same way, the miscommunication between her and Kristoff is, once again, a consequence of that:
Tumblr media
Which means Anna's still facing some deep unresolved feelings with that. The 1st movie, following her inner "Fairy-tale narrative", views her punching Hans as the easiest and definitive solution, and considering him simply as a big bad "Villain" in F2 is a confirmation of that, in the same way she constantly pushes for her "Do this Together" with Elsa.
And this brings us back to why seeing a Kristanna wedding is perfect for opening the plot of a F3: because for Anna, this would be her final step to the "perfect life", most importantly now that she's Queen and, together with Elsa protecting the Enchanted Forest, have reconnected Arendelle with the Northuldra, honoring their parents love:
Tumblr media
In Kristoff's regards, he was the one ready to propose, but his arc was deeply limited because F2 is a story about "Anna & Elsa reconnecting to their parents", but also Elsa's journey to find her Destiny (as the Fifth Spirit). We now have seen Kristoff getting a little more confortable with the idea of wearing formal clothes, which doesn't mean it will be easy for him to get used to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But, generally, getting married is such a big event in someones life, and for Kristoff, who values his love for Anna so deeply because of how distant from other people he's always been, there are surely certain unresolved aspects about himself and his childhood he still needs to resolve:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And lets not forget about the theories many are still bringing out about these couple lines. I don't think they had THAT specific sense in the story (in the Broadway Musical, they've been completly cut out), but it would be fun if the directors brought them back in some way:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But what about Elsa? All this talking about Kristanna seems so much like I'm saying that "Frozen is about Romance", and yet, we have an older sister who's the other half of everything, who has found her Destiny in the far North, looking after the Enchanted Forest, bringing balance to the Spirits and protecting the secrets hold inside Ahtohallan.
And with this new found power and purpose, she'll surely do anything in order to protect her little sister Big Day and Arendelle from whatever "danger" the outside world might bring, most importantly after a certain someone broke Anna's heart:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How things might go from there? I don't know, but I'm sure the directors didn't left such a big thing for Anna right there, at the very end, after they had to put the romance aside compared to the 1st Frozen, to not consider the possibility it might bring in a new movie, most importantly now that Elsa has found her own purpose and place North. And, in fact, they were quite open to the possibility of doing a third one.
Bit that's why I believe a Frozen 3 should handle the centrality & duality of Anna & Elsa through the element of Balance:
On one side, Anna's romantic life and responsability leading Arendelle, on the other, Elsa's deep connection with nature and her role as protector.
But, in order to do so, things need to be thightly connected to them both on the emotional and personal level, coherent with what they had gone through, in the same way the Enchanted Forest and Ahtohallan were connected to Agnarr & Iduna past and the origin of Elsa's powers.

'Where we’re going with ‘Frozen’ did not come from me. It came from an incredible person. That’s a new piece, I’ve told no one. And I’ve been blown away by it'
and
'They told us, the day of, and a little bit about what they’re thinking. It got us very excited. Now, we have to let the wheels of Hollywood do what they do, but we were very excited with their ideas'
can we talk about what these two interviews imply? lee and lopezes know what frozen 3 plot is about and they both admit it's ~amazing~. I think it bodes very well for the movie and we're in for a one hell of a ride.
the only thing that worries me is idina's lack of any reaction. she must know the plot, I'm sure someone from disney has called her and they talked about this. yet the only thing she said when asked about frozen 3 is 'yeah I'm happy 'cause I'll be able to pay my bills'...
anyway, I'm very intriqued by this whole thing. what are these ideas that got them so excited? I must know! maybe it's about Elsa finding romance? but on the other hand I don't believe romantic sub-plot is something that would make lee's mind blow away. let alone make her greenlit the threequel.
or maybe it's about neighbouring kingdom attacking arendelle? it would be too much like frozen 2, tho.
uuuuGGGhhh I just can't stop thinking about it!
Kristen Bell also lightly announced F3 back in 2022 but said she wasn't in charge to 'officially' announce it. This tells me she had heard about it (maybe small talks or rumors...or she's directing it just saying) and that they were actually, at the very least, talking about the film since 2022.
What's interesting about the quote "It's a new piece" tells me that while Frozen and Frozen 2 are meant to be one complete story, Frozen 3 might be starting something different, and may not even be called Frozen 3. It makes sense - Frozen 2 doesn't have a special title, it's literally just Frozen part 2.
Basically, every plot point introduced and explored in the first two films could very well be finished, and now we're treading new territory with these characters. Honestly, this possibility screams for an analysis post on who the characters are now and who they'll be going forward, and what plot points we'll most likely be leaving behind (for better or for worse). Stay tuned for this on my main blog haha.
In terms of Elsa maybe finding romance - My honest opinion is that Elsa won't be getting any romance (male or female) and remain ace. However, I do think they might heavily imply a strong connection to Honey, since fans were already on board with them and they already had a fairly close scene in F2, which opens up some more narrative opportunities between them. I'm 100% certain that there will be no prince though.
Now, in terms of Idina Menzel not being enthusiastic....that's kind of her overall personality, to be honest. I don't know Idina personally of course, but from what I've seen, she's a bit on the introverted side unless she's acting or singing. If you look at her during the Making of Frozen 2 Documentary, she also seems a bit unenthusiastic. Again, I think she's just acting that way because it's her personality, not because she's not interested in the film. But that's my personal observation.

Life In The Fast Lane Chapter 2 - Saudi Arabia
Tumblr media
Summary: Plouch Racing is the first team to hit a Formula One milestone, but discussion brings memories Kim’s wanted to forget back to the surface. The time away from Adam doesn’t help either.
Words: 4.6k
Warnings: fatal car crashes, the dangers of motorsports, death. There’s some context notes at the bottom.
Kim knew there was a difference between the team budgets, but that difference had become night and day. Especially considering she was spending over a week alone. Before Adam moved team if there was a weekend between races they’d usually have five or six days alone at home before going to the factory. But now he had multiple media appearances and was flying to and from the UK to get to the VR factory. It was constant travel that tired him out. And Kim felt completely left behind.
Usually a race engineer was half engineer, half strategist. She’d work on the strategies on the off weeks. Sometimes she’d still go into the factory to see people and have conversations about car upgrades but usually she’d work remotely. Instead she spent her time between races in Plouch’s Swiss factory, sitting in her usually unused office and plotting strategies for Roman for Saudi Arabia.
He’d actually finished the last race which had surprised her. Not in the points yet, but he wasn’t the last to finish. Plus Antonio had come in P10 to get a point for the team. It could have been a lot worse.
She sat in the cafe with a coffee in hand, picking at the salad in front of her. Adam wasn’t back in Monaco for another few days and she wasn’t heading back before flying to Saudi Arabia. From there it was straight to Melbourne. Sarah and Crockett were flying up to meet everyone so she wouldn’t be alone.
But the little apartment she still kept in Geneva was lonely at the best of times. She hated having to be there, having to be away from Adam. They texted almost constantly and they were on FaceTime every night or two but it wasn’t the same. Lying in bed alone felt wrong after all the time they had together.
One of the only bright spots was that she’d gotten to know and get along with Gabby Dawson. The younger woman had grown up as her slightly older brother’s karting mechanic and until Antonio hit F3 she’d kept it up. But then she’d become his strategist and that had continued on. She was good at her job, enjoyed the work they did, and she and Kim could have good conversations. They hadn’t clicked the same way that Kim and Sarah had but it was a nice friendship in their crazy world.
The day before they were to fly out to Saudi Arabia Gabby was lounging on Kim’s sofa. There was a pizza box open between them for lunch and Die Hard was on tv.
“Is watching a Christmas movie in March really a good idea?” Kim asked and she watched how Gabriella shrugged.
“I’ll pretend I’m on the anti it’s a Christmas film team if it means we can keep watching?”
“Deal.”
They were having the lazy day before going back to the Middle East and everything a double header would entail. Their strategies were as good as done and would be finalised on the flight and they’d spent a solid hour going over ideas for the potential tyre compounds that they could get. There was nothing else to do until either the flight or they arrived at the track on Thursday to set up. A knock at the door surprised Kim, but she opened it to Sarah, Crockett, and Lolly standing there with their cases.
“Hi Kim!” Lolly said before going mute at seeing Gabby there.
“Hey Lolly. Do you remember Gabby? She works with Antonio on the other side of the garage.” Lolly nodded but still clung to her dad.
“It’s really nice to meet you. Trudy told me a lot about you, she showed me your desk in her office.” Gabby moved to the armchair while speaking and the mention of Trudy helped calm Lolly down.
“Sorry for bagging in, the hotel we’d booked screwed up our reservations. Can we stay in your spare room tonight?”
“Of course, come on in.”
They ended up sitting on the couches and armchairs watching movies. Instead of the evening of well watched thrillers it became a Marvel marathon. The four women sat there and watched while Crockett cooked blackened chicken for them to eat. It was a chance for them to all get along and get to know each other, and as far as bonding sessions went it worked really well.
Gabby looked at Lolly’s kart bundled in the hallway, turning to the little family as she put her coat and hat on to leave.
“Is this Lolly’s?”
“Yes.” Lolly had gotten her AAC app back up to talk to the new woman.
“When you decide to go karting will you tell me if I’m around? I used to go with my brother all the time, I was his mechanic. I can be yours if you want?”
It was really sweet to offer and Lolly nodded seriously. The app said thanks before Gabby left the apartment. Once she was gone and the four year old was tucked up in bed Kim sat on the couch with her best friends, Disney Plus turning Criminal Minds on instead.
“I think Gabby’s lonely,” Kim said slowly as Sarah turned around.
“We talk to her!”
“We talked to her three times, Sarah. I heard VR weren’t fans when she took over as her brother’s strategist but she knows her stuff. We should hang out with her for meals at the track. Especially if she wants to help Lolly, she loves that kart.” Crockett smiled at his wife before squeezing her hand once, Kim watching how Sarah nearly melted into him.
“We took her to Eze three times, it’s not even funny how much she enjoyed it. Al Olinsky was there with his daughter, Lexi is doing French F4 this year. She won her karting class last year and managed a sponsorship. He said Lolly has a talent for it but I don’t want to push her into it when it’s our lives.”
Kim let the conversation run over her as they sat there with the show on low. For the first time since returning from Bahrain she felt vaguely normal.
“Was it just the two of you?” She thought she sounded normal but Crockett’s expression made it clear that she hadn’t quite hit the mark.
“Adam came twice, he was in Monaco for a couple of days. Voight had him doing events in France and Belgium because Halstead doesn’t speak French. He made a joke about Bob traipsing around Europe for karting races with him helped for something. Have you been talking much?”
“We’re trying.” It was quiet until Kim spoke again. “We’ve both been so busy and I couldn’t leave Geneva. Texts and bedtime FaceTimes had to be enough. I think.”
“You’ll have time together in Saudi. We’re all staying in the same hotel, and the morality police won’t be allowed in the hotel.”
Kim smiled and tried to let it roll over her. It’d be fine. It had to be.
The flight to Jeddah was nearly six hours with everybody on the one wide body jet together. It meant that most people could have two seats as they lounged around or worked for the flight. Kim and Gabby had taken over a row of three seats to work on tyre strategies as they passed data points back and forth on an iPad. It was easy to ignore the noise as they worked. Roman was himself and had fallen asleep over a row of four seats with his eye mask on, but Dawson walked around the plane to greet everyone he hadn’t met yet.
“Kim Burgess, it’s nice to see you again!:
“Hey Antonio,” she replied as she stood to hug the older man. “Sorry I wasn’t here for your first race with us, well done on the points.”
It was clear that the drop to their team had hit him hard but he still smiled at the praise. “Platt runs a good team and Gabby’s good at her job, it was everyone’s hard work. It’s nice to see you here with all of us this time. Te gusto Bahrain?”
Kim replied in Spanish and the Dawson siblings continued the conversation in their native language. It had been a while since she’d gotten to stretch her Spanish skills and it was nice to have an in depth conversation in Spanish about work that wasn’t with a reporter who’d criticise if she missed a verb. Instead of the generic brief she’d given Roman shortly after boarding Antonio was interested in the tyre strategies they’d come up with for the race.
“So it’ll be a one stopper you’re telling me?” He asked as he looked over the colour coded spreadsheet in front of them.
“That’s the plan. If you’re potentially in the points we might try get you on softs with ten to go and try to get a fastest lap point to go with it. We’re pretty sure it’s going to be a Spa style race.” Gabby nodded as she showed the fastest lap point plan they’d spent a solid twenty minutes refining from their initial point of “drive fast”.
“This is…thanks. It makes sense, but if I’m not near the points then it doesn’t really matter, does it? Or do you want to take that point off people?”
“A little from column A, a little from column B.” The three of them laughed quietly, not noticing Roman coming up behind Antonio until he was there.
“What’s going on?”
“We’re talking strategy for the race. Do you have a preference for a one or two stop?”
“Does it really matter?” He walked off and Kim rolled her eyes, the action not going unnoticed by the other two.
“Is he always like that?” Gabby swapped to Spanish.
“Unfortunately. But the sponsorship money helps put up with it. At least Rhodes and Hawkins care about their teams.”
The heat hit them harshly when they made it to Jeddah, everyone piling onto the buses when they arrived in the evening. Lolly had begun to get tired and cling to her parents with Kim sitting in the row behind them. Fortunately one of the travel aides had the genius idea of doing a group check in so she could just hand out keys to everyone as they arrived. Once Kim took the card she hoisted up her bags to make it to the small room.
As soon as the door opened she was surprised to see the lights were on and a blast of cold air came out of the room to her. When she went inside and closed the door Adam was standing there with a paper bag in his hand, making Kim grin at him.
“You’re here?” It nearly didn’t feel real. It had been nine days without each other. They’d left Bahrain on Monday the week before and now it was Wednesday. But he was there and standing right in front of her.
“I’m here.” She dropped the case and ran into his arms as Adam pulled her close easily.
“This sucked.”
“It fucking sucked. Mouse kept telling me I looked like I was missing a limb when I was at the factory.” She reached up to kiss him, being in his arms and having him right there was enough for now.
“I think that’s the longest we’ve gone since we started dating.” He nodded and pushed a kiss to her forehead.
“I got you some rice dish that they said was good in a restaurant down the street. It’s rice and chicken and dates and I don’t even know what spices. Sarah said you were all getting room service together so I wanted to make sure you ate.”
“She helped you plan this?”
“We were in Eze with Lolly and she saw how miserable I was without you.” Kim laughed, sitting on the little desk as Adam sat in the armchair for them to split their meal. “Can I stay here tonight? I just want to be with you for a while.”
It felt like things were the wrong way around for them in the morning. Kim lay in bed and watched Adam slip out, head swivelling so he could get away unseen. She went down for breakfast and sat at a table with Sarah, Crockett, Lolly, and Gabby. She could feel Adam across the room from her but refused to risk looking over at him. Instead though Lolly ran to hug him when she saw him.
“Adam!”
“Hey Miss Lolly, let’s go back to your mom?” He came back to the table with her and greeted everyone. It was a weird moment to need to be professional because Gabby was there instead of not being able to be themselves.
“When are the two of you just going to sleep together?” Gabby asked as Lolly was occupied after Adam went back to his table, Kim turning and staring at her.
“What?”
“You know half the paddock has bets on the two of you getting together, right? I thought you just weren’t because of his dad. But he can’t take his eyes off you.”
The conversation stopped after Kim denied it, but the thought kept going through her head. If it wasn’t for the job at VR they probably would have announced they were dating over the winter break. But the idea of not getting to work with that strategy team hurt. She’d fit in well and thrived and she wanted to wear the uniform. She was good enough for it. She deserved it. She’d proven herself but if Voight didn’t think that she was professional enough and good enough she couldn’t get the job and that would be the end of it.
The setup time at the track was normal, Kim keeping an eye on Roman’s performance at the press conference as she showed Gabby the ways she set up the pit wall. Everyone did it differently and it was a good way to help her learn how she’d want to do it. Between them everything was finished and connected to their systems within half an hour so they could head for the debrief with Trudy.
It was the one thing that their Team Principal insisted on every day that they were at a track. The two lead race engineers would go over their plans so far for the weekend, what had gone well and what could be improved on. It was tiring and stressful and Trudy picked holes they hadn’t considered in their plans, but she did it because she wanted them to succeed. This time it was the two of them them with mugs of coffee in hand on the sofa, Lolly sitting in her corner colouring away on a Goat Racing colouring book.
“Miss Olivia’s in here because Sarah’s doing some work with the drivers and Crockett’s meeting the medical team. Does that work?”
“It’s fine, don’t worry about it.”
They went over the strategy plan and what had changed on each car, sipping coffee as they chatted. It was as informal as any of these got.
“We need to be careful with the front wings. We’ve swapped out to more downforce available because it’s a street circuit, but I’m not sure if it’s totally stable. I don’t have any worries about Dawson but it might be an issue for Roman. I’d re-evaluate what’s going on after FP1 tomorrow and then decide if we’ll change back. We’ve got both wings here.” Gabby took a cookie from the plate on the coffee table after she finished speaking.
“I agree. I want to see how Sean does around the circuit and what his lap times come out to. Last year he crashed out on lap twelve but the year before he finished. Our decision should depend on the mood and the track. It’s supposed to be good weather with temperatures around eighteen degrees. The track temp will be around thirty or so but we’ll get accurate weather information tomorrow. Hopefully the downforce and some good track conditions will get heat into the tyres easily.”
“You’ve got it well in hand. I don’t think I need to remind you that this team is making history this weekend, do I?” Kim and Gabby both looked at Trudy quizzically. “This is the first Formula One race weekend that a team will have a team principal and both lead race engineers be women. Wallace Boden reminded me of that when I saw him earlier, and Netflix want to interview both of you about your careers. They’ll be around after FP2 tomorrow for that.
It was an early night in Adam’s room before Kim got up and went to the garages for the first practice session. The cars were sleek, carbon fibre and steel ready to race around the track at outrageous speeds. It was a hive of activity and people getting ready to go.
But the practice sessions passed too quickly for Kim to really enjoy with the interview hanging over her head. She didn’t want to go and didn’t want to deal with it, but once the cars were back and Roman and Dawson were out she was sent to the media room Netflix had set up. She sat in a chair in the middle of the dark room, looking around.
“It’s just some questions, nothing big. We’ve got a lot of female fans and we want to show them that they can have a job in motorsport too.”
The first few questions were softballs, how did she get into engineering and how did she start in Formula One. Had she ever regretted going into it? Her response of the awful sleep pattern being a regret got a laugh. But it was the last question that made her stop for a moment.
“What does being involved in Formula One mean for your life outside of work? We see drivers not able to keep relationships going when they’ve got the money to fly to places for a night or two. What happens when that’s not an option?” She swallowed and tightened her fist for a moment.
“It’s hard. It’s really hard. I’ve missed birthdays, weddings…my niece was ill and I only found out afterwards because I was in Australia when it happened. Being honest and explaining what happens helps. But its not easy. We’ve got a married couple working with us at Plouch, they travel with their daughter. And that’s a stress on them but we all love it. You can’t do this job if you don’t completely love what you do and love motorsports.”
“Do you think you can keep doing this if you want a family? It’s a dangerous sport to be involved in.”
“I don’t know. There’s drivers who do it - look at Matt Casey. Sylvie’s there with their kids at every race when school isn’t in session, and at basically every European one because they’re close to home. Daniel Charles at Gaffney has his wife and daughter with him at every race. Ethan Choi’s family don’t tend to come to many races but he’s the first one to leave after everything’s done on Sundays to get home to see them. Trudy Platt set this team up when her son was in his teens. I think it’s hard, but it’s doable if you have the right support. But this sport…” She paused and took a minute to breathe, blinking back the tears that threatened whenever she talked about it. “It’s so much safer than it was in the past. If you told people there’d been two on track deaths in a decade they’d have called you a liar. But I was Justin Voight’s race engineer and I remember trying not to beg down the radio for him to respond to me after that crash. I was watching the telemetry and we knew something bad had happened even before the medics got there but we were just praying something had gone wrong with the sensors even though we knew it hadn’t. This is a dangerous sport. And we don’t tend to acknowledge just how dangerous it can be at times. I’m on the pit wall, I’m generally safe. But I can see why between the travel and the danger people can find it hard to make it work. God knows I do.”
“So there’s nobody special in your life?”
“My life has a lot of special people in it. Right now I’m not missing much, except maybe my bed!”
Kim left after saying goodbye, texting Trudy that she couldn’t make the debrief. She got back a terse no problem but she could explain what had happened in the morning. Right then all she wanted was a large drink to wipe away the grief and misery of having to talk about Justin. But they were at a stupid race in a stupid country with stupid no alcohol rules for most stupid places and she couldn’t let herself be seen like this. She couldn’t let people see her upset.
Instead she forced a smile as she walked down the paddock. A little girl stopped her as she walked to ask for an autograph because she wanted to be a “nengine-eerer” like Kim. She grinned and bent down for a photo with the child, signing her Plouch Racing shirt and promising if they were at the entrance to the garage in the morning she’d get Gabby to sign it too. The parents were grateful and thanked Kim repeatedly, the mother realising something wasn’t quite right and pulling everyone else away. Finally she got a cab back to the hotel and went into Adam’s room.
It was only once she’d gotten in there that she could let herself feel again. She’d seen awful crashes before at so many tracks. Kelly Severide’s car had gone up in flames when she was watching and he’d barely made it out. But Justin had been a freak accident, his car had clipped another and spun sideways into the barrier in Spa. The radio was open but he was barely speaking unless it was urgent, in the much needed points. He’d been driving around the corner and whatever way the racing line went he couldn’t follow and he’d spun out to hit the barrier at far too high a speed. The car had crumpled just like it should, the halo protecting his head from anything external.
“Justin? Justin can you hear me? Justin get out of the car. Hit a button. Something. Tell me what’s going on.”
The silence on the other end of the radio was endless as the red flags were called and everyone was brought in. Adam had been their reserve at the time and he had a headset on like everyone else in the garage. Everyone was tuned to the silent radio line. Kim could hear the muted tones from the coverage on the large TVs. The sound was blurry in her head as she focused on the fact that every piece of telemetry was showing nothing.
“It looks like that was one of the Plouch cars that went into the barrier. Do we know who it was, Bob?”
“Well we’ve just seen Halstead back in the garage so it’s Voight. The marshals are going over but there’s no signs of fire. I can see—“
“Let’s go to the pit lane. What do you see there, Sharon?”
It took twenty minutes for them to get him out. It was nineteen minutes too long. She knew from minute two what the outcome would be but she had to be professional, couldn’t yell. Mouse’s hand had gripped hers hard as they waited for confirmation before Trudy gathered everyone into the conference room. Hank had been there and Kim had never seen a more broken man.
The tears were streaming down her face as the door opened, Adam spotting her and dropping to the ground to hold her hand.
“Hey, hey, hey. Kim. Kim, what’s going on?” She felt him pull her close and wiped her eyes, desperate to stop sobbing.
“I…we’re making history this week with all female engineers and an all female team principal so Netflix wanted to interview me. Longest serving female engineer still on the grid and all that. But they brought up how dangerous the sport is…”
“And they mentioned Justin?”
“Yeah.” The sobs started again and Adam just held her closer.
“It wasn’t your fault. We all know that. Hank knows it, the FIA knows it, Erin knows it. You hadn’t talked to him for three laps and conditions hadn’t changed. None of it was ever your fault, Kim.”
“But if I’d just done something.” His fingers carded through her hair as he kissed her forehead, holding Kim close.
“Every single time we go out in those cars we know what could happen. It could be like Justin, or it could be like Andy Darden’s crash, or it could be one of the thousands that have happened. Its why I always tell you I love you. But we know the risk when we get involved, Justin knew it too. It was bad luck and nothing else. I promise.”
It took a few more minutes for Kim to calm down, wiping her sore eyes with the back of her hand.
“I should be more put together about this. It’s been almost three years.”
“You watched your friend die, Kim. You didn’t get to have the hope everyone else had because you had access to everything. Plus we all saw the way Voight spoke about the accident afterwards. I know he apologised but it’s still gonna leave a mark.”
“Yeah. Ugh, I’m sorry.”
“Nothing to apologise for.”
She managed to do her job for the weekend, just about keeping her head together even with the memories flashing through. Roman got through practice and qualified P18. It was a sign of how things were that they were celebrating not being last. Antonio made it to P12 with a good chance of scraping into the points to make the mood high in the garage post qualifying.
It didn’t last. Roman was lapped twice but had a DNF in lap 42, causing a safety car that meant Adam lost out on a podium. Antonio stayed in 11th, Stella Kidd’s smart defending keeping him out of the points and putting a damper on the whole weekend. Kim was thrilled for the first female F1 driver in years getting points, she’d wanted to talk to Stella if she got the chance. It would stop the media only talking about Stella and Kelly Severide at least.
But this was a double header so once the debrief was over everyone went back to the hotel to pick up their bags before heading to the airport. She pulled her eye mask down as soon as they took off. It was a stopover in Singapore where they could get off the plane, stretch their legs, buy some food and relax for an hour or two before onto Melbourne. Nearly as soon as she arrived she’d have a meeting with VR to discuss strategy and the last thing she wanted to deal with on the flight was more complaining from Roman about how he finished. Instead she pulled her hood over her head, curled up, and forced herself into the first dreamless sleep she’d had since the Netflix interview.
Notes:
Netflix does a TV show called Drive To Survive, that’s what Kim is interviewed for.
Justin Voight’s crash is essentially the same as what happened to Anthoine Hubert in the F2 race in Spa in 2019. He clipped a car, his car went over another, and Hubert was killed while Juan had spinal injuries. Correa only returned to racing in 2021, and made his F2 return in November 2022 for the last race of the season.
Andy Darden’s crash is based on Jules Bianchi’s crash in 2014. A car spun out on a corner at the track in Suzuka, and while under double yellow flags (a warning that there’s something on the track), a tractor crane was brought onto the track. Bianchi’s car collided with the tractor crane thanks to poor visibility. Bianchi died nine months later after being in a coma since the crash as the first fatality in Formula One since 1994. His death brought in more safety features such to FIA open cockpit racing.

Is there anything at all that you actually like in F2? Mostly plot-wise, maybe outfits, if you must. I'm not counting songs bc I must admit they're pretty good (not my favorite though). Im asking bc I'm not a fan of this movie either, but I'm trying to find some positive aspects, waiting for the unevitable F3...
There are definitely things in F2 I actually like, but that's also part of the problem for me. The puzzle pieces were there, but holy hell did they fail the landing...
Basically, I do like the designs and visuals. Aside from a few details (since nothing's perfect) I genuinely love the outfits, animation, the locations and new characters (though underdeveloped). I love the songs out of context, but in context almost all of them suck and I still find it hard to even listen to them (not you TNRT, we're happy to have you here! <3)
I honestly don't even hate Ahtohallan and Northuldra in concept, it's just the excecution I think is godawful.
Though, there is one thing I still have a problem when it comes to Ahtohallan, even in concept. Iduna is the one who preformed the good deed that gave Elsa her powers, yet she was punished with death for daring to seek answers after watching BOTH her children suffer for a decade and just wanting to help her child who's literally terrified of this "gift". And just in general the idea that Elsa got rewarded for something she had literally nothing to do with, but still gets praised to hell and back for it like she deserved it, despite all she did was be born...
Anyway, it's definitely my Anna bias, but she's the character I hate the least in this sequel. I definitely hate the "haha look how crazy she is" type of writing when she's experiencing 100% valid paranoia in a dangerous sitiation she was literally told beforehand Elsa could die from if gone wrong. But besides that it's actually nice seeing Anna mature after having her naivety slapped out of her by reality at the end of F1. Her arc to becoming queen was basically non-existent (because everything had to be about Elsa, even Anna becoming queen was more about Elsa than it was about Anna), but as a concept I love it.
I also liked seeing more of Iduna, but once again comes with the problem that thanks to the narrative it comes across like Iduna heavily favors Elsa. We literally see Anna being forced to sleep instead of being allowed to hear the whole song like Elsa... There was literally no valid reason for this (especially when you consider this is the night of the accident and Anna wakes up again later, so yes, she was forced to sleep when she wasn't ready yet). And then it's once again Elsa getting the "special moment" with Iduna in Ahtohallan, while Anna's literally down in a ditch.
Speaking of, F2 has felt "off" to me since the first time I watched it, but I couldn't really put my finger on why, so just shruffed it off. But then they released the "Her love could hold up the world." deleted scene (basically giving Anna an Iduna moment like Elsa got) and that's when my downward spiral of hating this sequel really started. It made me realize how with every change they made, the worse it got.
TNTR is my favourite scene in the entire movie and it makes sense when you consider it's one of the very oldest concepts that made it into the final cut (it's confirmed the oldest song). But yeah, that's definitely another positive, I genuinely love the part of the movie when it's just Anna. It's not just my Anna bias, it's just that Elsa in F2 pisses me off any time she's on screen, because of the way she's written, voice acted, animated ect.
I didn't mean for this to turn out so negative, despite me genuinely liking some things in F2, it's just so mixed in with all the bad stuff it's hard not to mention it.
Also, general reminder (not aimed at you, Anon): My F2 rants aren't an inviation to argue with me.

Don’t know if you’re still active with your blog but i thought maybe it’s a good idea to send you the link to the parts overview of chapter one of my own fanfic. It has begun as an idea for a Frozen III movie plot and meanwhile it’s more like a Frozen III dark AU. I’m still working on it but haven’t published the first 4 parts of chapter 2 yet. Here’s the link: https://bigfrozenfan.tumblr.com/post/611416838701727744/list-of-the-previously-published-parts-of-my-f3
By the way…one pairing (ship) is missing on your masterlist: Agduna (Iduna and Agnarr). One of the most well known writers (a writer duo) with some big multichapter fanfics are the-spaztic-fantastic and fericita-s
______________________
Hi there! I’m going to be updating and going through this blog after my absence for a few years (oops).
Thank you for sending this and I will add the Agduna ship! Sorry for the super late response!

17. What’s something you’ve learned about while doing research for a fic?
That drivers' careers are way more intertwined than I thought. The number of times I've grumbled "What do you mean they raced against each other in carts (F3, some regional series, etc) back in the day? I thought they'd never met before Indycar."
And that carting records for the 30+ yo drivers are sketchy as fuck. "Yes, I do need to know where that race took place and how they both finished. It's very important to the plot." *glares at Josef and Conor's history*
23. How do you choose where to end a chapter (if you have multi-chapter works)?
2000 words. Seriously, that's my chapter goal. Stopping at 1990 words is acceptable. Up to 3000 is okay. Usually it's in the 2100 - 2200 range.
I write in scenes anyway. Usually with different povs. So it's just a matter of ending the scene and having enough scenes to fill the word count. I write sparse so if I'm 100 words short, I can usually go back and add description or embellishment to reach it. Sex scenes usually cause me to go way over word count if it's not the only scene in the chapter.
29. Share a bit from a fic you’ll never post OR from a scene that was cut from an already posted fic. (If you don’t have either, just share a random fic idea you have that you don’t plan on getting to.)
Okay, so I write a single draft and don't particularly edit so any changes I do make are done right in that draft - no deleted scenes or old drafts to pull from. I also don't keep stories that I'll never post ( not that I've ever finished one and decided not to post it).
So fic idea it is. Except, as I look through my WIP/idea folder, I have every intention of getting to these ideas...someday. I cull it every few months, deleting things I've changed my mind about writing.
I have one file, titled "Hinch's young harem" that is blank, no notes at all. I vaguely remember something about him collecting up some rookies every year somehow but no more than that. Probably won't write this one since I've got no idea what to write.

Frozen: Forces of Nature - A Review
Queen Disa and Rupert Wolfgang's Big Adventure - Oh yea, featuring the Frozen Characters.
I was able to get access to Frozen: Forces of Nature early, on the website Wonderly with their + program. So, naturally, I felt it appropriate to give a review for those who are curious about the project and want to know what it is about and what to expect. Keep in mind that this is of course my opinion, and I recommend giving the Podcast a listen so that you can form your own.
This review will mostly be spoiler-free, however, I might mention a few things here and there that could be considered spoilers, so I will put the review under the read more. If you do not want to be spoiled at all, even a little bit, I recommend skipping this review. The free release will be on most Podcast platforms will be on October 11th.
---
For a quick review for those who don't want to read too much - Forces of Nature is a cute story about Queen Disa learning to trust magic and how to be trusted herself. The secondary protagonist is Wolfgang, the Duke of Weselton's nephew, who through the help of Kristoff and Mattias, learns to find his true passions. Yes, the story revolves around Queen Disa and Wolfgang (you can't convince me otherwise), while Anna, Elsa, and the rest of the Frozen cast, take a huge backseat and act more as supporting characters.
There are many potentially interesting ideas in the podcast, but they are not explored to their fullest potential. We focus instead on these two characters and their relationships with the main Frozen cast and how they push them in the right direction to become better versions of themselves. Honestly, they should've made this a spin-off about these two characters instead of teasing us with Anna and Elsa being placed on the main cover.
My Overall Score - 40/100
I want to start by saying Forces of Nature is definitely not a mainline entry, even though it tries to imply this with the description of it being 'a story that happens between F2 and F3'. It was very much written like another Extended Universe Novel, both in the references to the recent novels in the F2 era and even using places from pre-F2 comics. I think they should have advertised it more as the last side story that they're going to release before F3 to give fans a better idea of what they can expect.
Some fans, including myself, theorized that Forces of Nature was going to tell a story about climate change (or nature vs. industry) with the hint of automatons disrupting the balance of nature and causing the spirits to be aggravated. However, this is not the case. While there are automatons, and the spirits definitely don't like them, it doesn't really try to touch on this subject at all.
The story, instead, seems like a story about trust. Anna and Elsa take different stances on trusting Queen Disa and her obsession with science, and the entire cast has to learn to trust Wolfgang, since his uncle is the Duke of Weselton. Queen Disa also struggles with trusting magic without knowing how it works, which causes some tension with Elsa. Elsa doesn't want to trust her, but Anna treats her as her closest friend. Wolfgang also has a side plot of trying to find his true calling and helps develop it as he builds a relationship with Kristoff and Mattias. Also, Wolfgang has bonus solo episodes.
Now, I don't mind when sequels or side stories try to make new characters have more depth. This was a main critique I had when it came to Polar Nights - how Inger and Sissel seemed to be just diet Anna and Elsa rather than interesting characters in their own right that we should root for. However, if it comes to the point where these new characters are taking time away from the characters we know and love, and the story pretty much revolves around their development, it makes them more annoying than interesting.
A balance definitely has to be made, making interesting new characters but not taking anything away from our actual leads.
Elsa is practically a non-character, only there to act as an obstacle to Disa's development, while Anna is the supportive best friend. Kristoff and Mattias surprisingly get a bit more screen time here, with Mattias narrating the story, and it is definitely welcoming. In Kristoff's case, however, he only shows up when he's directly involved with Wolfgang or Disa. No, there is no Kristanna content. You heard that correctly. there is none. Not even a little kiss or a 'my love' or nothing. Unless of course I missed it, but then it was incredibly tiny.
Another big thing that was disappointing, but sadly expected at this point, was that the Northuldra did not show up at all, only Ryder gets mentioned in passing. I understand that Disney does not want to write anything without Sami advisors/writers, but ignoring the Northuldran characters is not doing anything good either.
There are a lot of potential and interesting ideas present here, but a lot of it seems to not be explored at all. For example, Arendelle seems to have a big reputation for being magical and strange, but we don't really get to see this explored too much - only in relation to how Disa feels about the magical elements. We also get small crumbs of Kristoff learning to be a leader, but it is never really addressed that he will one day be King (or Prince Consort), it's only used as a way to build Wolfgang's character up some more. There were also some hints about climate-related damage, like how Sankershus was practically underwater due to floods and how the automatons leak oil - but again, it's not really explored.
Now, it could be that these things are not explored in depth because they are indeed hinting at what F3 could explore. However, I'm going to try not to go that crazy with speculation.
Overall, it was a decent experience, and had some very fun moments. However, Queen Disa and Wolfgang oversaturate the plot and take away screentime from our favorite characters. Elsa and Olaf are practically not in the story at all, there is no Kristanna content, no Northuldra, and even the spirits are surprisingly absent and only appear maybe once each. Many potentially interesting ideas are not explored, and it is a shame that this podcast had so much potential but ended up being, in my opinion, the worst post-F2 entry and possibly even the worst Frozen entry in the whole franchise.

Three things worth mentioning but not included in my post about the list of things that could happen in "Frozen 3":
Dead characters return
The possibility that Anna has powers
The theory of the seasons
Tumblr media
DEAD CHARACTERS RETURN
For me it's a boring fanfic idea: bring back Runeard, Agnarr and Iduna or Kristoff's parents (I don't remember if they are confirmed dead or missing).
Why? It's very simple, the plot was built with their deaths in mind, so if the canon movie were to bring any of them back, it would ruin the story as a whole. "Agnarr and Iduna may have suffered memory loss and therefore not returned before F3, Runeard may be lost in the Enchanted Forest, and we have almost no information about the history of Kristoff's parents", man what a great idea... to a fanfic or for a “Twisted Tale” book.
THE POSSIBILITY THAT ANNA HAS POWERS
The second is an interesting fanfic idea, but it goes so against Anna's character that it doesn't even include it in the post, and in the post I even included the retcon theory. But like I said it's a great idea for fanfics, but ONLY for fanfics and "what if".
Anna was constructed as a parallel to Elsa, with two of the biggest differences between them being the magical factor and their views on romantic love with Anna having a more fantasy view and Elsa a more realistic view. Anna never needed magic, I hope that the most that happens is that she gains some artifact with magic. In "Disney Mirrorverse" Anna has a sword imbued with troll crystals that allow her to use varied powers, and I think it's a good idea: it doesn't make Anna a new Elsa, and at the same time the magic she uses unites with her own style. But if I'm going to choose between “Anna with a magical artifact” or “Anna with nothing magical” I will always choose “Anna with nothing magical”.
THE THEORY OF THE SEASONS
Really I don't know if it counts as a theory: F1 takes place in the summer, F2 in the autumn and there's a Christmas/Winter short film (Olaf's Frozen Adventure). Maybe spring will be next? Whatever. I've seen people betting on Spring along with the allegory of it being the season of love, but I don't think it matters even if the film has some focus on KristAnna's marriage and Elsa's love life (ElsaMaren).

I knew something was fishy when I discovered that Disney made a dining experience focused on Anna and Kristoff engagment cerimony
Tumblr media
Not that I think they knew F3 would've been a thing when they were planning this (I even doubt completly different departments would talk to each other), but surely it's an idea that reinforces how the Kristanna engagment is the only clear plot point that we can surely see explored in the future, which of course leads very naturally to a third instalment.
Most importantly because Anna litteraly started the Frozen plot convinced of "Marrying a man she just met" and now she's going to marry her actual "true love" ... so, you know, wouldn't it be unfair to let Anna there when she's so close to finally have what she wants?
Yeah, of course it's about Anna and Elsa relationship, but looking at the single characters, this is HUGE narratively speaking, which makes it even more interesting because it will be up to the story to tell us how this will go.

Hope they'll reveal the director soon. The suspense is killing me. 😣
Agreed - I need to know who it is so that I can do research and have some idea of what we can expect.
For example, If it's Kristen Bell, she has written two episodes of The Tiny Chef Show, and four episodes of Family Game Fight, and is the creator of Momsplaining with Kristen Bell (obviously). She was also the director of an episode of The Good Place, and finally, she was heavily involved with Anna's arc in F2 and helped develop her overall personality in F1. She seems more comfortable with heartwarming, familial storylines and focuses on character work. Thus, if she is writing/directing F3, I'm definitely expecting the comedy and familial focus to shine through, as well as highlighting the sister's independent personalities. Thus, she may struggle more with the overall plot and worldbuilding, but thrive on the character's development.
But this is just an observation after watching her stuff. Yes. I watched her stuff in preparation if my theory is correct. That's not weird. Not at all.
I'd like to do this when the director is officially announced. Go check out their stuff to get an idea of what to expect. Of course, as I viciously advocate for in Jen Lee's defense, Disney Corp. and other Disney writers may force themselves onto the new director and force them to change things, which I'm also preparing for.

Frozen III plot / fanfic
I have read many opinions about Frozen II in the last half year, many of them very contradictory and almost dividing the Frozen fandom. So it took me a while to put everything together to form a personal overall picture. Many people know that I’m an F3 supporter and after a post from yesterday about Elsa’s humanity and how the makers of Frozen see her, an idea came to my mind. This idea would solve many problems and questions and finally bring Elsa back to Arendelle and to Anna. Furthermore, this idea holds a lot of fuel and possibilities for a full-length film with many flashbacks and plots for really every one of our beloved characters. Everyone would get their money’s worth without it getting boring at any time.
It’s been a long time since I tried writing and I’m not good at it. But the form of a ficlet seemed to me to be the most suitable to convey an F3 plot idea with much tension in it. Maybe one of my favourite writers or anyone who would like to dare to take up my idea and write a real fanfic with several chapters. I would be the first who would like to read it!
I hope you like my idea.
Big thanks to @fericita-s for beta reading and correcting my text and also for making me aware of a big logical problem that i had overseen! After one sleepy night i solved this issue and now my movie plot idea is even better than before :-)
The story takes place shortly after the events of the reunion and afterwards in the Enchanted Forest…
Of course it had taken a while until the people of Arendelle understood everything, until they accepted the new friends in the far north and the abdication of their queen. It has taken a while before Anna herself was ready to take on the mantle.
In her new role as Fifth Spirit, accompanied by Gale and Nokk, Elsa was quickly accepted by the Arendellians. Most were grateful after witnessing the rescue of the castle. Some of them, however, were afraid of so much power in their midst.
Elsa noticed this very quickly and decided to limit her future visits to what was necessary and to enter the castle without being seen.
The official coronation took place in the castle chapel, where all the kings and queens had been crowned. When the choir finished singing, the bishop carefully put the new crown on Anna and she received Arendelle’s insignia from the velvet cushion. Then she turned to her people with pride and dignity.
Elsa was in exactly the same place where Anna had been during her own coronation. Anna was calm and composed during the whole ceremony. Fear had almost overwhelmed Elsa. She saw in her memory the ice that slowly formed on the scepter and orb as clearly as if it had been yesterday.
As the applause broke out she smiled at Anna. She was so proud of her little sister. Anna looked over at her for a moment and smiled back in relief. Then she carefully put the insignia back on the pillow. She had made it through. She was now Queen of Arendelle.
As they left the chapel in a royal recessional past an overjoyed looking Kristoff, the enthusiastically clapping people of Arendelle, the invited guests and dignitaries, Elsa involuntarily drew a comparison. There seemed to be far more people present than at her own coronation. Some representatives of the Northuldra were even present including Yelana and Honeymaren in their traditional colourful festive dress, now bowing to both of them. The people loved Anna. And Elsa was happy to have made the right decision for both of them and for the kingdom.
The Coronation Ball in the evening was cheerful and exuberant. Every dignitary paid respects to the new queen. She was glad that the Duke of Weselton was not invited this time and that she did not have to dance with him. This time she could choose her own dance partner and she chose Kristoff. As a precaution she had arranged for Kristoff to get some dance lessons a few weeks before. She still remembered too well how Weselton stepped on her feet back then and Kristoff was a good deal bigger and heavier.
***
Anna, with Elsa’s help, had commissioned the royal sculptor to create a large bronze statue. She wanted to show her parents at a young age, as a monument and eternal symbol of the peace between Arendelle and the Northuldra. Elsa would not be able to be present in person, but she gave her promise to visit regularly.
Anna’s second official act was to appoint Lt. Destin Mattias as General. He had been loyal to Arendelle all his life and was instrumental in helping her break the curse of the mist. Ultimately, it was Mattias who reached for her hand at the very last moment to save her from falling into the depths of the breaking dam, saving her life.
Together with Kristoff, of course, and that brought Anna to her next thought. She had been overjoyed to accept Kristoff’s marriage proposal and that would be the next big event in Arendelle. Her own wedding. But first she wanted to unveil the monument. The sculptor had promised her that it would be finished very soon.
***
Peace had returned to the Enchanted Forest.  The Northuldra lived their lives as before, in harmony with the Spirits of Nature. The giants helped the inhabitants over abysses, Nokk helped a bit with fishing, Gale, playful as she was, helped to convert creative ideas into stone sculptures, and Bruni was content to help start cookfires and clear areas with fire as needed for growing food or reindeer herding.
Elsa had her own kota in the village, but she spent most of her time in Ahtohallan to learn and find out more about the past and about herself and her magic. She even finds out more about Kristoff's past. The only thing she knew about him was that he has been raised by trolls and learned to be an ice harvester. But now she knows everything. About his parents and what happened to them, and also the circumstances around why Kristoff ended up among the trolls.
One balmy early summer evening she sat with Honeymaren and a few others around the campfire in the village and told them a little bit about Ahtohallan. Everyone was quite curious about it because not one of the Northuldra living today had ever seen it.
At first she decided to reveal only a little of the deeper secrets there and limited herself to the description of the place itself. She wasn’t sure if this would anger the spirits but assumed that she would quickly notice when trouble was approaching. The Northuldra hung on her every word while she talked and now and then someone asked her for more details. But Elsa left out the pictures in the memory hall and the deeper levels of Ahtohallan with the living ice sculptures of her own past. That was a bit too private and perhaps risky.
Now that she had accepted her ability and her new task as Fifth Spirit, she hardly thought back to her old life in Arendelle. In the beginning she was there every Friday and sometimes stayed over the weekend to be with Anna and help her with her new duties as Queen, but she had changed. Something had changed her. And it became rarer and rarer for Elsa to visit the castle.
Eventually it even became rare to find her in the forest.
The Spirits were appeased and there were no threats and no strangers in the forest. Everything was calm and in harmony. It was almost as if it had never been otherwise. Many peaceful weeks passed.
Until that one day in the early hours of the morning, when one of the Northuldra men was about to go fishing and he found a human lying at the beach motionless half in the water. The man ran back to the village to get help.
A short time later he returned with Yelana, Honeymaren, and a healer.  They took in the sight before them and drew back in shock. In front of them lay Elsa, motionless and without any clothes.
The healer was the first to kneel down next to her and check if she was still alive. She confirmed it to Yelena with a relieved nod and together they carried her back to the forest.
When they arrived in the village there was excitement and a small group discussed gesticulating and pointing towards the lichen meadows and other directions. The only thing they understood in the tangle of stories was, that the spirits had apparently all disappeared and were no longer helping anyone as they always did.
Yelana immediately linked the two incidents and came up with the only possible explanation. Elsa was on her way back to them when all the Spirits suddenly disappeared, and so did Nokk. So Elsa must have swum almost all the way from Ahtohallan through the Dark Sea. A wonder she could survive that at all. If the magic disappeared, this could only mean one thing.
***
Meanwhile, Anna was seriously worried in Arendelle. It had been more than a month since Elsa’s last letter and since then Gale hadn’t shown up either.
Even Olaf had been acting very strange lately, insisting they remove the ice embellishments from the castle and find more “Anna” decorations.  He was also uncharacteristically calm. He didn’t visit Sven as often anymore and his curiosity and jokes had become rare.
Anna made a decision. If Elsa did not come to her, she would have to travel to the Enchanted Forest herself. She asked Kristoff to gather all the necessary material and asked General Mattias to accompany her. He agreed as long as he could bring Halima.
Anna agreed and the next day they all left very early in the morning for the north. Sven pulled the wagon, Kristoff sat in the front and Olaf sat in the back next to Anna. Mattias and Halima rode side by side on two of their own horses behind them. Since there was peace between the Northuldra and the Arendellians, they declined a retinue of guards. It was supposed to be a comfortable trip with a reunion of old friends in the Enchanted Forest.
Late in the evening they reached the four big monoliths at the edge of the forest and the sun was already setting. They got out of the wagon and Mattias helped Halima dismount. Everyone was in a good mood and grabbed the contents from the wagon. There were presents for the Northuldra and specialties from Arendelle for a small feast in the village. They had barely finished when a few Northuldra with serious expressions ran towards them and asked them to hurry. Something bad had happened. Anna held on to Kristoff in shock and said only one word. “Elsa!”
When they entered the village there was an oppressive silence and many lowered their eyes as they passed by. Honeymaren ran towards Anna, bowed briefly to the queen and took her hand.
Anna’s lips trembled as they looked into each other’s eyes for a brief moment. Finally Honeymaren pulled Anna gently behind her towards Elsa’s kota and said softly to her that Anna had to be strong now. They entered the low and gloomy dwelling. Then Anna saw her sister lying on a bed lined with furs, her eyes open. Anna rushed towards her, kneeled beside the bed and grabbed Elsa’s hand. She was unusually warm, but did not return her gentle grip. Elsa just looked up and did not react in the slightest. Anna laid both hands on Elsa’s cheeks and gently turned her head towards her. Their eyes met.
“Elsa! What has happened? What is the matter with you?”
Agonizing seconds went by.
Elsa blinked a few times and then tightened her eyebrows.
Her voice was weak and sounded fragile when she finally replied, “Who are you?”
***
Ok, there were or are some difficulties for me to bring some facts together and explain them conclusively. One of them is the loss of Elsa’s powers and what would happen to her creations. Olaf, the Snowgies and Marshmallow in particular. It was simple and easy to do with Elsa’s ice decorations at the castle (if it should be Elsa’s suggestion or Anna’s decision as new Queen i’m not sure about). Arendelle and especially Anna must not notice in the story too early that Elsa is now a “normal” person. But the other thing? That Ahtohallan is the reason should be clear, after all that was the source of Elsa’s power. But what happens when all the magic vanishes? Would Ahtohallan have a remaining residual magic to ensure the continued existence of Elsa’s living creations? Or would Elsa possess some kind of residual magic that she can no longer use willingly, but is still a deep part of herself? The other thing is how would it be possible to bring back the magic or to "heal" Ahtohallan? Would this be permanent? Would it be wanted? Questions over questions and this time Ahtohallan doesn't know (pun intended...LOL).
Well, the rest of the story remains to be determined…

the fanart I just reblogged where Elsa wears a hood actually reminds me that I am ready to bet actual money that we'll get either hooded!Elsa or hooded!Anna in a trailer of Frozen 3.
Like, I genuinely have no idea why it came to me in a flash when I was thinking of what they could probably give us as a plot in F3 but I was certain of a few things:
there will be an epic royal moment with Anna banging her fist on a table - which likely has a map and pins on it -
there will be an undercover mission where either one or the two sisters wear hoods (don't even ask I seriously don't know why but wouldn't that be super cool? as their faces are known in the whole country?)
there will be a sort of journey/travel/tour for Elsa - likely accompagnied with Honeymaren, whether she's there a friend or a love interest - where she goes to meet and help other elementals or people in magic-driven places
I am calling this all out. and hoping for it not gonna lie
