irmgard essex (who i love dearly) was my pc in a fallout ttrpg run by @corsairesix (erin my beloved) and put aside bc of irl stuff. the game took place in new orleans and like holy shit. it was so good. erin is so deeply talented and i love her. i actually have a tag for the game, though it's pretty short. it was a homebrew system and like. god it was so fucking good. i also don't feel bad about sharing the google doc that's her character sheet lol. it's got some notes about her and stuff

here is an incomplete list of things irmgard esseks has done:

one time the party went into a super duper mart to get a single shopping cart. (we needed it for transporting a people maker tube) of course we got attacked by ghouls and out of the 6 of us, irmgard was the only fucking person who landed a single shot, and was the one who dealt with it. it was a moment that really solidified her role in the group for me, she suddenly realized she had a reason to exist. i still bring up about how i was the only one who landed a shot in that fight

basically had 0 personality at the start of the game. it'd been like 4 years since the institute kicked it and she stopped internalizing a lot of what she learned there. i think her thought process was "well maybe other synths don't go insane and crazy living like this but i have and i'm not a real person like those other synths"

eventually her personality became "i would die for by best friend dacian and sweet caroline, because she is very nice"

dacian is a pskyer and she didn't believe he could read minds and blast his thoughts into other people's heads. he proved he was able to and she decided to not believe it like it was some kind of religious thing.

she had 0 opinions about another party member, sylvester "the lonesome" but her existence made him feel insecure about his place on the team, especially after she looted a pipboy off a dude she killed. (he was the only one who had a pipboy before that.)

it was INCREDIBLY funny bc he was so jelous that she's like 6'3 and built like an action hero and meanwhile she's like "wow i'm so good at acting like a human. everyone here thinks i am a normal human. i am getting a good grade in being normal which is possible to achieve and normal to want"

sylvester was the only person in the party who wasn't keenly aware of how fucked up she was and pretending not to notice

one time got banned from the actual city of downtown new orleans bc she killed a guard, wore his uniform, snuck into the jail, and broke out one of sweet caroline's neighbors. this ended up getting everyone banned from new orleans aside from hannah.

one time the party found a terminal in an abandoned outpost that was filled with dirt on the current mayor/dictator of their favorite town. she made a fake email account and sent everyone who owned a computer in that town a zip file of all those documents. no one knew aside from the party and like 2 other people knew she did it

also thought that a good way to sabotage the current mayor was to find some random ass child and pay that kid to lie and say they're the biological child of the mayor and the product of an affair, and the mayor chose to leave his own flesh and blood on the streets to save face.

according to the stats, she's one of the smartest members of the party.

this is the only fiction i've ever written about her, and i've never bothered to uploaded it but it's her back when she was just X6-33 and killing people for the institute. she had more of a personality then bc she was secure in her place as being simply a weapon and nothing else

she picked the last name “essex” because it was close sounding to her designation of X6

lately we've been kicking around the idea of like. what would our characters been like 5 years later and this is her! she is butch and has resolved all her issues around the concept of her being a person! idk maybe she helps the railroad now. dacian and her have nail painting sessions though

First of all, I hate the fact Magnolia uses a damn karaoke machine. There is No Way Hancock wouldn't hire her a fucking band once he heard her sing.

Now, Magnolia, because she's sweet on him and to boost his self-confidence, has Kent "D.J." between sets. He doesn't do much talking, but plays whatever holotapes, records, etc. that he can get his hands on, because she discovered he's got excellent taste despite his Silver Shroud obsession. And, some of the music he plays is new because MUSIC DOES CONTINUE TO EXIST AND EVOLVE AS LONG AS HUMANS DO, TODD.

Yet another thing to help cement Goodneighbor as a musical hub, because if you record something, it gets around that Mags and Kent like it, then you know you're doing something right.

Fallout Tumblr, I have a request. I am working on a fan project, Fallout Louisiana. Consisting of a broad overview of the setting, some short stories, and potentially a hypothetical map. Anyway, I’d like some help from some New Orleans and/or Louisiana natives in my research process. Stuff like local wildlife can be easily assessed, but notable locations, especially ones that no longer exist, and just general culture is much harder to glean from google maps. just found out today that tennessee williams moved to new orleans in 1939 and that he lived only half a mile away from the gallier house. which coincidentally places him at exactly the right time and place for him to witness the fallout of the 1940 mardi gras patricide extravaganza in the show. so i guess what im saying is that i think louis and lestat inspired streetcar, not the other way around.

wait you’re literally so right abt bipolar wilson. begging you to talk about it more tbh bc yeah. Yeah.

oh absolutely, one of my favorite Wilson Subjects.

um wilson having bipolar 2 is something i think of as essentially canon. it would have been potentially problematic for him to be on mood stabilizers as a physician (medical licensure is.. really ableist...) which imo serves as an explanation for why he is on antidepressants- also makes depressive episodes objectively canon.

(hypo)mania leads him to make a lot of weird ass decisions! he's got impulsivity problems that would look a lot worse if he didn't have house around to make him look comparatively normal, with two great examples being in birthmarks- the broken mirror in new orleans and when house pisses him off at the funeral home.

he's got relationship habits that are pretty bipolar-typical; he gets in emotionally intense and often sexually-driven relationships (bonnie says as much) that burn out fast. this isn't like, bipolar diagnostic criteria or anything, but it's a common experience.

imo one of his most manic incidents in the show is his 2nd relationship with sam: he gets in this relationship on a whim and then KICKS HOUSE OUT about it. he PROPOSES TO HER AT SOMEONE ELSE'S WEDDING, a decision that just about anyone can recognize as a huge social faux pas! something HE would usually say is a stupid choice and a bad idea! this immediately explodes in his face.

also.. the paper he wrote about euthanasia! another vaguely manic decision. house kind of saved him from the fallout of that one.

oh, yeah and the fucking CHEMO DUDE FUCK!!!! severe black-and-white thinking moment from him that leads him to make a decision that is actually completely detached from reality. he is manic for this entire arc which would not on its own contribute to a bipolar dx due to clear and obvious stressor but as a character i already think of as having it... contributes. kyle, especially.

there are like. more examples. i cant think of more off the top of my head but there are. i am going to make a tag on my blog for this so that i can add to it as i think of them.

Title: Take a Ride Pairing: Jennifer Jareau x Emily Prentiss Prompt: 23. "The only way you're getting off is on my thigh." Minors DNI, 18+ Warnings: smut, dom JJ, sub Emily, thigh riding R WC: 1023

JJ was fuming as she stormed into Emily's apartment. There was a sort of unspoken agreement whenever Emily had taken over that certain things wouldn't be happening. Today's press conference was a shining example of what shouldn't happen. JJ was completely thrown under the bus by Emily and left to deal with more fallout from the media than she ever had before. There could have been entire teams dedicated to cleaning up the mess that Emily had left JJ with, but JJ had to handle everything completely on her own. The public's idea of the FBI and law enforcement in general had been in a decline for reasons that JJ completely understood and respected, but she had never once thought about being grouped in with the bad guys before.

"JJ, before you start-," Emily started, only to be cut off by JJ.

"No, you don't get to speak first. You left me out there by myself after telling everybody that not only did we have nothing, but we fucked up our only lead so badly that the evidence that had been collected would be thrown out. That's so much worse than telling them that what we had been investigating had turned up being a dead end. You can tell me that it's hard being the one in charge all you'd like, but you weren't the one stuck out there answering those people's questions." JJ's fists were balled up at her sides. Emily could see the anger barely being held back. JJ's temper had always been something that Emily was clueless about dealing with. She could calm JJ down if it wasn't anything serious, but Emily doubted that she'd be able to do anything to get JJ's mind off of the absolute clusterfuck of a case that they were handling.

"I am sorry, but I went out there and I told them the truth. We can't just lie about these things anymore, people have ways of finding out the truth. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" Emily trailed her fingers up and down JJ's forearm. JJ must have thrown her blazer off and rolled her sleeves up the moment that she was back inside the building. Emily could see it in her mind, the way that JJ would do what she could to make herself feel less like a suit. They had talked about it a few times, JJ's reluctance to wear the badge because it didn't have the same name that it once did. People didn't see someone like JJ as the kind of person who would protect them because truthfully, the institution that she worked for wasn't for everyone's protection, not really.

"Being the boss is so easy, isn't it? You find the right people, you tell them what to do, and watch as it all unfolds before your eyes. If it goes perfectly, then you have yourself a big win, but if it doesn't, there's a group of perfectly good scapegoats waiting to take the blame," JJ said as she crossed her arms over her chest. Emily looked up at JJ, who was now staring down at her. It shouldn't have been nearly as erotic as it was, looking up at JJ like that, but the scene in front of her was a reminder of how long it had been since they had gotten a night alone together. Emily understood the hardships of raising children as a single parent, and with Will deciding whether or not he'd stay in DC or go back to New Orleans, things were even rockier than they should have been. There were things Emily wanted, but she was so scared of pushing JJ too far that she didn't ask for them. "You aren't listening to me, are you?"

"I am trying, I swear," Emily promised. JJ placed her hand on Emily's chin as she tilted Emily's head back. The corners of JJ's mouth moved up slightly for a predatory grin, one that warned Emily that she had been caught. JJ dropped her knee down onto Emily's chair and leaned forward, trapping Emily to the desk chair. "What are you doing?"

"It's been a couple months, I'm just checking in, that's all. This isn't bothering you, is it?" JJ asked. Emily's breath was starting to quicken as her heart beat faster and faster. JJ was so close, but Emily knew better than to try to reach out and take what she wanted. JJ would have moved impossibly farther away if Emily did that, so she just nodded and prayed that JJ would come to her. "I've missed this, but we could never do any like that here, could we? It wouldn't be professional."

"Screw professionalism, I want you JJ," Emily said. JJ pretended to ponder giving in to Emily as she adjusted her knee in the chair. Emily hadn't expected the sudden brush of JJ's thigh against her center, so she couldn't do anything to hold back that first moan. "Fuck it, I need you. I need to feel you fucking me."

"The only way you're getting off is on my thigh," JJ told her. Emily groaned, but she pushed her hips forward against JJ's anyway. JJ didn't have to move as she watched Emily grind down against her hard enough to feel something beneath all of the layers between their bodies. JJ hadn't planned on doing it like that, she had wanted their first time after their little break to be slow and sweet and romantic, but as JJ watched it unfold before her very eyes, she realized that she wanted this even more than Emily did. JJ had missed the feeling of power that she got from having Emily whining and grinding against her leg like she couldn't get enough. JJ soaked in the sound of the barely contained moans escaping through Emily's lips. JJ had missed all of this, and Emily had just barely let her get a taste for power before they had split up before. JJ watched Emily cum with an intense look in her eyes, one that didn't completely subside as JJ comforted Emily afterwards.

Attention all Like Ghosts-heads

To the 3 or so people who actively follow this project, I got some potentially exciting, or upsetting, news for y'all. Effective immediately, I'm putting any Fallout related content on the backburner, but Like Ghosts will live on. I've realized that, after having my personal gripes with the setting, I've come to the realization that the gulf between Fallout's reality and what I was wanting to do with it was way too wide, and if I wanted to continue this creative venture further I was going to need to rediscover what I wanted in a story.

This is flowery language to say that, Scavenger Hunt and the wider Like Ghosts canon will be completely divorced from the Fallout franchise, giving me and the team (my cat, Tiger) the opportunity to further shape the post-apocalyptic world in a way that, while perhaps similar, offers a wider range of motion for divergences. This means a new setting - New Orleans, a city I've always wanted to write about! Additionally, I'll be working on new factions, new timeline, and mostly new characters! So be looking for that in the future. This isn't to say that I'm abandoning the Like Ghosts of Boston. In fact, I hope in working on the new section that it helps me think about things for the fallout one. Consider each an AU of the other.

I hope I didn't upset anyone with this announcement, but if so, I get that and understand. If y'all choose to stay, please do so.

If I was a writer for Evolution, I would..

give Luke and Tara more screentime. Adam and Aisha are great actors and it’s annoying cm keeps underutilizing them

Rossi less screentime

make every episode about 60 minutes or more. 

Show the BAU’s personal lives in every episode, even if it’s just a scene or two and a few seconds per person

More Luke and Garcia interactions, the banter and snark. Will sure as hell add a proper explanation as to what happened after the date, even if it takes more than one episode

Some more humor, I get that the season is tackling a much darker storyline but a little lightheartedness won’t hurt them and it helps add some levity to balance out the serious and bleak moments

Reid and Matt are acknowledged more prominently despite their absences, especially the latter

No Greencia sex scene, post credits scene has Luke showing up instead or maybe Tara gets a text from Rebecca

Maybe keep the Bailey scenes in but in episode 5, he gets more of a backbone and he shows more guilt between choosing to defend Emily and the BAU versus caving in to Martha Reeves’ demands. Subsequent episodes would have him make it up to the team as well as making it up to them after being so harsh on them, looking down at the BAU and the way he talked down to Emily. He has a lot of work ahead, which makes his redemption go off more natural

Garcia gets called out for her selfishness by Emily or even Luke and JJ, seeing how she handled her trauma and it seems that she tried to solve her issues by cutting ties with them and avoiding them at all

Tara and Rebecca having more scenes, whether it’s them being domestic in their apartment or they finally have a talk down after the fallout they had in episode 6

None of the silent treatment Rebecca is giving Tara between episodes 6 and the season finale

Garcia realizing she made a mistake with Tyler after the kiss and her realizing that she loves someone else and letting Tyler know about it

More lady bonding moments, ladies night. Considering how the women outnumber the men in the main cast this season, it’s jarring to see how little they interact besides cases and the fact that the writers try to add more men (Bailey, Tyler) to the show as an excuse to fill in the void left by Reid and Matt’s absences, did not help

Keep the Willifer scenes, ditch the diagnosis subplot and replace it with the family having to deal with JJ returning after her time working in New Orleans didn’t go well due to covid happening

Krystal doesn’t die, sick and tired of the whole “fridged women” trope, her absence could be explained by staying with her daughter Portia cause of covid etc

callbacks to the date and why things didn’t work out and Garcia is back to treating Luke the same way she did in s12-15

Emily and the team gives JJ a proper hug in the reunion

Maybe a small time skip or something so that JJ and Luke have time to properly recover from escaping the trap set up by Elias

Garcia doesn’t say “...even Luke” when she hugs him and JJ after seeing that they survived. He asks if this means she does care about him, with Garcia not saying anything but rather gives him a smug look

Make Garcia less selfish, she goes to therapy and she deals/overcomes her unresolved trauma in a much more healthy manner instead of making poor choices like hooking up with Tyler and knowing she can’t keep being an emotional crutch for others

Garcia get’s more meaningful interactions with JJ and Emily, seeing how it’s odd they rarely interact despite the three being close friends

Maybe JJ and Luke suffer from ptsd due to surviving an explosion, could serve as something that needs to be brought up and acknowledged in future episodes

Luke gets an episode centered on his personal life, ditto for Emily and Tara

Maybe he makes more mentions about his family, not just a one time thing

another breather episode like Saturday (15x04), which serves as a little break from the heavy storyline, Elias/Sicarius makes no appearance cause it’s about the BAU fam and their time off the Sicarius case

maybe flashbacks to what the team have been up to between 15x10 and 16x01

JJ being the one who talks to Tara about her fallout with Rebecca

Set up Elias as a potential foe to Garcia instead of Rossi

More glimpses of Garcia’s new life post-BAU

Luke and Garcia finding some sort of happiness, whether it’s with each other or someone who doesn’t have heavy emotional baggage and anger issues (aka Tyler Green)

That’s all I have so far. I’m not an experienced writer, so the chances of me being a writer for cm is unlikely. Still, a girl can dream. Also, feel free to add more to this
