I know before Rings of Power, Amazon had a young Aragorn series in the works; now I’m wondering if the script was sold to Warner Bros who revised it into films and then asked PJ to come direct but

A) why is it multiple “films”. I am not enthusiastic about the idea of Peter Jackson trying to stretch the hunt for gollum (??????) to MULTIPLE films. If anything this feels like it one of the times something needs to be a limited series or something. Also what even are they gonna do for a real plot?

B) why the fuck is Peter Jackson willing to come back to Warner Bros after how much he hated and regretted working on the Hobbit with them?

C) what the fuck. They really are out of ideas with the rights the Tolkien estate sold to them, huh?

guys there's literally no reason to put stuff like this in the tags lol!

for those who may not understand tumblr culture: character specific tags are utilized mostly by FANS of the character to discuss the character, search out meta, or look for art and fic.

it's considered bad etiquette to post character hate into the tag for the character. but with characters who have a lot of people who hate them (like Emp), this is very hard for us to self-police. it's especially annoying because it can lead to the tumblr algorithm placing these posts directly into our timelines because of how they're tagged.

literally every day we see a handful of the exact same post:

even ignoring the bad-etiquette part of it, you're basically just spamming the tags with a post that's been made 1000s of times?

#alright snark and ship wars aside i get where you’re coming from tho #if you're genuinely interested in my thought process here i would love to elaborate #which is exactly what I’ll do! #first of all! the post you linked is about headcanons #which my brain kinda wants to put into a whole different category than ships — fandom ships in particular! — but i can leave that aside #because there IS an argument to be made that relationships are an extension of characterization and personality traits #if you wanna go that route i would wanna explain that Bloom's and/or Valtor's interest in the other is in fact based on canon #(even though I don’t really think ships need to be established in the source material. make shit up that’s what fandom is for #1) the Andros episode speaks for itself. Valtor specifically tells the Trix to back off because HE wants to be the one to fight bloom #2) the episode before that he asks questions about her (and only her; even though he has more powerful enemies to worry about) #demonstrating curiosity about and interest in her #3) that same episode (or the one before; can’t remember) is their infamous first meeting #where time LITERALLY slows down as the pass each other on the stairs #they get IMPACT FRAMES #the whole color palette changes!!! #idk about u but I eat that shit up. love the drama of it all no one does it like them #I’m gonna skip all the instances where Valtor is spying on Bloom through his little scrying spell because oh god who has the time #let’s go straight to Bloom #if I had a week I would not be able to collect all the moments where she growls his name in pure fury and single-minded determination #she gets a little bit obsessed with him over the course of the season and I personally think that’s very sexy of her #Bloom is known for her tunnel vision when it comes to her past and origins and Valtor's existence fits PERFECTLY into that #it ties in neatly with her overarching story of the past 2 seasons #literally PERFECT foils #which always makes for the juiciest stories #4) she singles him out for a duel in the museum episode #5) she can literally feel his presence #6) the mere mention of his name sends her into her weird faux enchantix #of course there’s no romance in canon but there’s TENSION AND CHEMISTRY which is all u really need for a ship #all their animosity and bad blood is what makes it so INTERESTING to wonder how they COULD work. it’s the spice that makes for good fanfic!

well for better or worse my little ficlet thing for dreamling i'm writing is somehow mostly written from matthew's pov and with neither dream or hob present, and um, that seems about in line with the usual way i get an idea and then decide to write it like the little weirdo i am rather

anyway, here is a slight summary of what i have so far in my little ficlet, don't read if you don't want a little bit of a spoiler for what i'm doing

warning for reference to sexual assault/implied rape

but um, it is a bit heavy on the angst, so heads up there, and like painful misunderstandings, like dream making assumptions, cuz he didn't expect what he found when he went to visit hob as a surprise, so the well-fucked appearance hob had, the way hob seemed upset at seeing dream, only left one explanation in dream's mind, cuz if it had been anything else, hob would have called for him, called for aid, but like he didn't, so dream concludes that hob must have taken another lover, and does not wait for explanation, and simply leaves

so like yeah, so it sorta falls on matthew here a bit to piece shit together as dream is back to being his old bitter and cold otherworldly self who wont acknowledge that he has feelings, cuz then he'd need to acknowledge they'd been hurt by what he thought he saw, cuz that boy has it hard for hob

and like hob is all kinds of sads and not okay, cuz another alpha had tried to claim him, left him feeling ashamed and weak and then dream fucking bailed on him

so yeah, that's about where i am, fun times
