Revision: French reading

En: I have been revising reading for my mock exams so I did the 2022 reading paper for AQA, if it was an actual exam I would've got a 52/60 which would be 21.7% towards my overall grade!!!

did i mention that time in my actual real french speaking gcse exam when in a pre-prepared question i managed to forget every single thing i knew- not about french, but about celebrities. so, i ended up answering the question "which celebrity would you like to meet" with "chris pratt, because he's funny and i love jurassic world".

sidenote: i've never seen jurassic world. i just forgot every celebrity except chris pratt, and then every film he's been in except jurassic world. i forgot about guardians of the galaxy, y'all. i love guardians. what the fuck happens in speaking exams

#i swear some kind of wizardry happens during language exams #i forgot the word for competition in my 150 essay on sports (which had to include details about a recent sporting event) #my french ta forgot every positive thing she could say when asked her opinion on gay marriage and had to go the Extreme Homophobia route #my mum was asked what type of books she liked in her german exam and ended up saying she liked books about the English Civil War #my french teacher couldn't understand what her german teacher asked her on the subject of holidays so assumed she'd been asked what she did #on holiday but actually the teacher had asked how did you get there which made my teacher's answer of I Swam a whole lot more dramatic #but still technically right? she was talking about spain and we're english so #gcse #gcse french #french speaking exams #language exams

TIP: All French nouns have a gender (feminine or masculine) and when referring to a noun, we have to use a determiner (for example, you cannot just say 'cat', you have to say 'a cat', 'the cat', 'my cat', etc.)

TIP 2: 'le' is the masculine form of 'the' & 'la' is the feminine form, and when the noun it's referring to begins with a vowel, le/la contracts into l' for example la orange (the orange) -> l'orange 🍊
