Rewatched The Good Place for the first time since s4 dropped and. Oh my god. The Good Place said "people are a result of their environment but we always have a moral responsibility to be better" and The Good Place said "every day the world gets a little more complicated and it gets a little harder to be good" and The Good Place said "even in the face of total nihilism, when nothing you do will matter, you still have to at least try. I just realized! Christmas in the loop!

They're literally all stealing from the townspeople that one day. The older kids are usually stealing things they think the others would like (toys, books, etc.) but the younger kids are using it as an excuse to cause havoc and just grab something along the way.

Claire gives Millard the left shoe from the grumpy old man that sits at the bar all day. Olive gives Emma a pint glass she found at the same bar. Enoch brought Hugh and Fiona a lamb. Speaking of Hugh and Fiona, of course they give each other the sweetest gifts. Fiona will make a flower bed for Hugh's bedroom for his bees. Hugh had managed to find a book about flowers in the town that they hadn't found before and while Fiona's reading he's pointing out all of them ("you're just as pretty as this one." "I thought you could try growing that one."). He also helped Enoch get a lamb and tried shaving a heart and a flower into it (it's debatable whether it worked). Claire and Olive together stole a painting for Horace. It was beautiful. He almost cried.

They all have their laughs from the things they've received and when they go to bed that night they know the loop reset will reset their gifts as well. To balance out their disappointment, Miss Peregrine sneaks into the childrens' rooms after they've gone to sleep and leaves a gift from the present that won't reset. For them, they get to experience Christmas a second time, every year. And they've got someone who is better than Santa Clause in their eyes.

Horace Headcanon:

I think that whole 'emotion clouding vision' thing where he can't see the future of people he cares about is a lie that Horace came up with early on in the loop. He probably had everyone asking about his visions all the time, wanting to know if he'd seen anything about them in his dreams, but whenever he would tell them what he saw they'd just be scared and worried. Even though most of the dreams are symbolic or won't necessarily come true.

So he started telling everyone that he never dreams about anyone he cares about so they'd stop asking and he wouldn't have to upset anyone.

Same with him claiming that the dreams he doesn't remember rarely come true- if he doesn't remember them, how does he know if they've come true?? Very suspicious Horace, very suspicious...
