I just come from a MXTX fanfic bender, so bear with me:
Fanfic where Wei Wuxian is a descendent of Hua Cheng (like his nephew x times removed). And Hua Cheng goes to the Burial Mounds after Wei Wuxian saved the Wen Clan but before the whole mess with the Jin Clan happens to investigate who this guy is so many cultivators are recently complaining about in their prayers. And then he meets Wei Wuxian and is like "Gege... can we please keep him?"
Because of course he recognizes his and Xie Lians own suffering in him. And he's also a clever ghost king and knows when someone is related to him.
And Wei Wuxian is like super bemused by this all of that but accepts it because yay, finally someone is on his side?
And then the thing on the bridge with the Jin clan happens, but Hua Cheng is with him because he hasn't trusted that invitation in the first place. And he's absolutely livid. Heads roll... literally. Xie Lian is a bit exasperated and like "Aaah San Lang, I don't think you actually need to remove their heads.. excuse you what did you just say about my nephew in law? Aaah, well... forget what I just said San Lang, keep going!"
Fast forward to Lan Zhan being vaguely confused how to proceed. Hua Cheng being an absolute mother hen and Xie Lian fondly watching all of that while quietly making sure Wei Wuxian is alright and will be in good hands.

The Angel Who Chose to Fall
🧵one-shot | 🔞 nsfw!
Prompt: Angel! Xie Lian/Demon! Hua Cheng
For @/nopommies for TGCF Gotcha for Gaza @/TGCFAction on X
⚠️ English is not my first language.
Tumblr media
PT-BR version:
Xie Lian has long been the darling of the heavens. Everyone had their eyes on them, mortal, god, angel or demon, after all Xie Lian was a strange man with his almost infinite benevolence and a strong temperament, sometimes cynical and sarcastic, sometimes kind and merciful.
Even with his eccentricity, Xie Lian was the justice of the Mortal Realm, the center of the world.
No one knows what exactly made everything go wrong to the point where Xie Lian deliberately stooped to such a… dirty path.
How could Xie Lian, the number one angel of heaven, the favorite of the gods, have become a mere prostitute of the number one Demon King, the Scourge of Heaven!!!
Well, Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's story doesn't follow that path, and it wasn't nearly as short as to be summarized in so few words.
“But they’re not exactly wrong,” said Xie Lian, smiling facetiously as he held a book containing his legends.
Hua Cheng tsked, which only made Xie Lian laugh: “What? Don’t you agree that I’m a slut eager to spread my legs and warm the bed of Demon King Number 1?” Xie Lian questioned, his cheeks flushed from imagining himself in such a vulgar way.
He put down the book and climbed into his husband's lap, who placed his hands on his thighs and automatically pulled him closer.
“They shouldn’t talk about you like that.” Xie Lian raised an eyebrow, running his hands up and down Hua Cheng's abdomen and chest, removing the robe that no longer hid anything in the way. “No, scratch that, they shouldn’t even think that about you.”
Xie Lian shook his head and climbed further onto Hua Cheng's lap, sighing contentedly when he felt his dick right in the crack of his ass. “Um, weren't you the one who, our first time, made me live on water, bread and dick for ten days? Becoming an addict and a mere vessel for your enjoyment?”
“Gege!”
Xie Lian raised his eyebrows: “This is all your fault, San Lang.” He bent down to kiss Hua Cheng's chest. “Deal with the consequences.”
Hua Cheng's eyes darkened and suddenly Xie Lian was turned over on the bed, causing him to scream and laugh, his big white wings lightly flapped twice, and his arms were pinned against the bed by big, strong hands.
Xie Lian bit his lips, feeling warm, and tied his legs around Hua Cheng's waist.
“And my gege thinks he’s not to blame?” The demon asked in a cynically rhetorical way, pressing a thigh against Xie Lian's dick and drawing a sigh from him. Hua Cheng laughed, hoarse and dark. “Has he forgotten that he teased me for days as he fled my touches and ignored my advances until he exploded on his own, screaming that I should fuck him—”
Xie Lian screamed and flailed as if he wanted to hide, his face was red to the point that it almost made Hua Cheng feel sorry, but he definitely felt his dick throb. “I got it! Okay, I admit my hypocrisy.”
It was Hua Cheng's turn to raise his eyebrow: “I'm sorry, gege, but that's not enough.”
Xie Lian didn't say anything, he couldn't, any words he had to say were silenced by Hua Cheng's lips, only moans and sighs came out with the dominating touches of the demon's forked tongue.
Hua Cheng patted Xie Lian's knee twice, enough to have those beautiful, long legs open for him. Xie Lian was wearing nothing but a transparent white robe, which only made him even more adorable and made it easier for Hua Cheng to touch him, who only had to lower his hand to the angel's voluminous ass and insert two fingers inside him, already lubricated and relaxed from previous rounds.
Xie Lian whimpered and raised his hips in search of more of those touches. His wings flapped nervously against the mattress and his halo, a thorn-like mark around his head, glowed faintly. His robe opened and spread beneath him, which made Hua Cheng lean in hungrily and grab one of his nipples at the same time as he inserted a third finger, the three of them together constantly hitting the prostate.
Hua Cheng sucked, licked, sucked and bit Xie Lian's nipple hard, filling his mouth until he ran out of air. And the other nipple was not left unattended, the fingers of the demon's free hand pinched it, pulled it, twisted it and rubbed it, and in the end both were reddened and stuck up, one with teeth marks around it.
And as for Xie Lian, he desperately clung to Hua Cheng, his nails traced deep red marks on the demon's back and arms, like rivers of blood, his eyes were closed and his eyebrows were arched, his mouth was open in an "o" and saliva accumulated in the corners until it ran.
His back suddenly arched, his legs spread even wider and he stood up, his teeth pierced skin and flesh and his mouth filled with sweet demon blood, the musky smell only made Xie Lian suck in more of that blood, the taste of which was incomparably unmatched by any lamb.
Hua Cheng, who had already grabbed the other nipple and was now giving the reverse treatment, groaned as he felt the sharp teeth pierce his neck.
He laughed, his voice deep and mischievous, full of amusement.
“Ah, I didn’t realize my gege has been so hungry.” Hua Cheng withdrew his fingers from inside Xie Lian, which made Xie Lian groan, and turned them over. He sat against the headboard, with Xie Lian sitting on his lap. Hua Cheng lifted the angel by the waist, inserted his dick into his anus and made him descend. Just that made Xie Lian remove his teeth from Hua Cheng's neck and throw his head back.
Hua Cheng's dick had a scaly texture, full of bumps and bulging veins, so Xie Lian having such a... thing inside him, whether in his ass or mouth, stimulated sensations that made him hypersensitive.
Xie Lian grabbed Hua Cheng's arms, once smooth and now full of crimson scales, as well as his chest, part of his neck and around his left eye, lifted onto his knees and jumped.
Hua Cheng smiled and lightly squeezed Xie Lian's thighs: “My gege— ah… do you want to give me a show, huh?” Xie Lian nodded eagerly, “Yes!!!” Hua Cheng laughed and raised a hand to Xie Lian's face, caressed her cheek and pulled her lip, “Then let me enjoy it.”
Xie Lian pushed Hua Cheng against the pillows and bounced on his dick without stopping, his delicate moans and needy whimpers mixing with the demon's hoarse moans and rumbling purrs.
“Ah, my gege— nh, my angel… hmm, are you able to leave the heavens and roll in the dirt just for my dick?” Hua Cheng closed one hand on Xie Lian's hair and pulled, making him cry out cunningly.
“Yes!!!”
“Ah, so it’s all about my dick?”
The only response was a tearful moan.
Hua Cheng grabbed his hips, holding him still against his hips, deeply impaled by his cock.
“San Lang!”
The demon turned them around again, careful not to hurt the angel with the claws that had grown from his nails, put his legs on his shoulders and thrust, strong thighs slapping against his buttocks. Hua Cheng bent down to kiss and bite Xie Lian, bending him in half.
“Since gege is only here for my dick, then that’s what he’ll get” said Hua Cheng in an animalistic voice, which only made Xie Lian harden and drool more.
Xie Lian whimpered, tears streaming down his cheeks: “Nh—I don’t even—oh, ah! —, I didn’t even respond! San Lang!”
“I took your silence as a “yes”.” He smiled evilly. Xie Lian cried more, but he couldn't say anything else.
***
“Why does San Lang have to be so mean?” asked Xie Lian in a fragile tone, his throat hoarse after screaming and crying for hours.
Hua Cheng laughed, squeezing Xie Lian in his embrace, his chest against his back, making him cry softly as his prostate was stimulated by the demon's hardened cock.
“Wasn’t Gege a little mean too?” whispered Hua Cheng into his ear, making a lazy thrust.
“Ah… San Lang, I was just surprised by the question at the time!”
“And now gege has an answer?”
Xie Lian smiled.
“Um… how could I have San Lang’s dick if I didn’t crawl through the mud for him?”
Hua Cheng growled, thrusting again, this time hard.
Xie Lian let out a scream, half laughing and half groaning.
“That would never be necessary. If my gege wants something, just ask me.”

“san lang.. do you wish to meet my mother?”
hua cheng meeting his husbands mother!
_______________________________________________
╔══ஓ๑♡๑ஓ══╗
my personal cute thoughts of what i think it would be like if hua cheng/san lang met xie lians mother.♡
there are no warnings, my dear lotus.
this isn’t a x-reader, so there’s no gender to mention.❀ 〜
a/n : well, well… it’s my first time writing for tgcf, wish me luck. my apologies if something is ooc〜! if you know, you’re probably thinking, “but xie lians mother..?” - - yes i know, but what if, my dear〜 i got the inspiration from someone on twitter!

i didn’t know whether to use a picture of san lang or hua cheng… you can imagine either!
oh my goodness!!!!
hua cheng would probably freeze up at the thought of that.
he does want to meet her yes, but what if he messes something up?!
xie lian would reassure him and tell him his mom is lovely〜
she would be so supportive!!! so happy to know that someone loves her son just as much as she does♡〜
most likely would be skeptical at first, it’s only her motherly instincts trying to protect her son〜
…your husband is… the ghost king..? a calamity..? feared by the heavens..?? ..well if you like it, i love it!
i think she would get over that quickly given the fact that xie lian would reassure her heavily that his precious san lang would never hurt him.
i believe she would be intrigued in why hua cheng loves her son, and listen to every detail with a lovely smile.
“im happy to hear your reasonings for loving my son. but as my son in law, i would love to know you on a more personal level, and welcome you into the family.”
you already know hua cheng would be so respectful!
bowing to her often, calling her the most respectful titles, cooking for her, opening doors for her, bringing her gifts and paintings he made of her, helping her with anything she needs, and more!
could even make xie lian jealous〜
the more they get to know eachother, the more motherly she becomes with him. treating him with the same, if not just as much love she treats him with xie lian.
i have a feeling hua cheng wouldn’t exactly want her to call him “hua cheng”. would he want her to call him “san lang” too?
definitely she would be the type of mother to watch the two lovebirds in the back, just adoring them from afar♡
i feel like by accident, she would embarrass xie lian a couple times.. hua cheng will have to reassure him that it’s okay!
“my queen of xianle, it was a honor to meet you. i promise to protect you and your son, xie lian. gege, thank you.”
overall, they two of them would bond heavenly, and would thank xie lian for such a wonderful opportunity〜

HAHA I know I literally just posted about the fic, but the writing bug got to me and I had the first chapter out before I knew it (it's short anyway) so at least that fever died down.
No schedule guaranteed but it has been mapped out so join me for this ride if this interests you!
Paper Flowers for the God of Gods
Summary:
In another universe, The Crown Prince of Xian Le, Xie Lian, did not ascend as a martial god, but as a god of flowers, a minor god.
A minor god who made a mistake, and was punished, sealed in his own little portion of heaven with barely any power, indebted to the Heavenly Officials for their mercy and kindness. He spends his days in isolation, occasionally visited by gods when they want him for their festivals. He cannot refuse.
All days were nice. All days were the same.
Until a new god visited, one draped in red with a large, red butterfly perched on his shoulder.
“Hello, gege. You can call me San Lang.”

day five - painting together
AH this one's my favorite i think for real this time i LOVE the xianle quartet with my whole entire heart <3
i wanted to stray away from the usual hualian x fengqing kinda dynamic so i just took all four of them and lovingly rattled them around in a salad box hehe
i also think posting a new one every day was ambitious (i have a lot of work to do and other lil projects i'd like to work on) but! i'll update as regularly as my schedule allows :]
this was incredibly self-indulgent and possibly VERY ooc, so read at ur own risk >:3
happy reading!!
day four (fengqing) | day six (fenglian)
It was a perfectly fine day, but they weren’t doing anything.
The bamboo mat in Puqi Shrine was hardly big enough for two people, but the four of them managed, fitted together like little pieces of a bigger puzzle.
“What if we cooked?”
“No,” was the reply Xie Lian received immediately from his three partners. He scrunched up his nose and returned to his task of braiding Feng Xin’s hair from where he lay with his head cushioned on Xie Lian’s lap.
“You don’t have to be so quick to respond…” he muttered, yanking Feng Xin’s hair a little harder accidentally. The martial god swatted at Xie Lian’s hands away playfully.
“Ow, ow, that hurts. Be gentle. What other suggestions do you guys have?”
“Sparring,” Mu Qing answered.
“Absolutely not. I wouldn’t call it a ‘fun afternoon activity’ to watch you get your ass handed to you by gege,” Hua Cheng said with a smug grin.
Mu Qing shoved Hua Cheng’s head off his chest with mock annoyance. Hua Cheng only laughed and leaned against his shoulder this time.
“No fighting,” Xie Lian said pleasantly, almost instinctively; it had been years since they’d genuinely disliked one another. “Keep thinking.”
“Sculpting?” Hua Cheng suggested.
“Oh, please. That’s almost as bad as having Mu Qing lose miserably against Xie Lian,” Feng Xin told him.
“Fine, whatever. You’re just jealous that you’ll lose,” he replied easily, causing Mu Qing to snicker. “What’s your idea, then? We all went already.”
Feng Xin pondered his question for a moment, then suggested slowly, “What about painting?”
Mu Qing sat up, dumping Hua Cheng on the floor again. Hua Cheng just moved to rest his head against Feng Xin’s legs instead. “That’s… a pretty good idea.”
“Must you sound so doubtful?”
“I’m sorry. I just didn’t expect you to have a good suggestion.”
Feng Xin made to get up, his heart set on tackling Mu Qing, but Hua Cheng placed a hand firmly against his thigh, and he felt bad about moving.
“Then, are we all in favor?”
“I think I have some paint in the back,” Xie Lian said, his own way of response. “San Lang, would you get the paintbrushes you left last time? And Feng Xin, get some of those big sheets I hung up to dry outside and spread them out on the floor,” he instructed. “Mu Qing, you come with me. I need help with the paper.”
Set to their own tasks, the four dragged themselves out of their comfortable spots and went to work.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
“If you shake it out like this before you put it down, there aren’t as many wrinkles. See?” Hua Cheng demonstrated.
Feng Xin gawked at him. “That is… shockingly helpful. You know a lot of weird, random things.” Hua Cheng grinned, his sharp incisors gleaming above red lips. “I do try to be all-knowing. It’s helpful in winning arguments against everyone else and sometimes you and Qing-er.”
“Why can’t it be all three of us?”
“Because you two get all fired up and try to fight me. It’s funny. Gege just asks me questions about things he doesn’t know instead,” Hua Cheng said in his most (irritatingly) logical tone.
A fair point. Feng Xin shrugged and returned to laying blankets down.
Mu Qing and Xie Lian returned moments later, arms laden with painting supplies. Hua Cheng moved to grab some paper and paint from the pair and carried it over to dump on the sheets Feng Xin had just laid down. He dusted his hands off and watched as Mu Qing and Xie Lian added to the pile.
“So. How is this working?” His question earned him an eye roll from Mu Qing. “We’re painting. Is that confusing?”
“I know you can’t resist a chance to be snarky, so I’ll just ignore you. Gege?”
“Phone a friend!” Xie Lian said cheerfully, pointing to Feng Xin.
He cleared his throat. “Well. Mu Qing was kind of right.”
“Hah!” Mu Qing crowed. Hua Cheng stuck his tongue out.
“Nope, we should make some rules or make this a competition or something… hmm. Who wants to be on my team?”
“I want Mu Qing,” Xie Lian volunteered, reaching out and pulling the black-haired martial god to his side. Feng Xin stifled a laugh at the way the tips of his ears immediately flushed red before reaching out to Hua Cheng.
“I guess this means we’re partners.”
“We already are,” Hua Cheng told him, a smirk playing across his lips. Xie Lian laughs and Feng Xin manages a smile.
“Okay, enough of that! Let’s paint!” Mu Qing insisted.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
“This is… not going well.”
Hua Cheng poked his side lightly, then put his finger to his lips. “Shh. We’re doing fine.”
By “we”, the ghost king was really only referring to himself. There was nothing remotely “fine” about Feng Xin’s mediocre skills with a paintbrush.
Actually, mediocre might be pushing it. Hua Cheng laughed quietly as he cleaned the edges of their collaborative painting of the four of them sitting in the field around Puqi Shrine. Feng Xin groaned and buried his face in his hands.
“I ruined Qing-er,” he said, devastated. “He’s going to kill me.” “Oh, I absolutely will. What did you do? Let me see,” Mu Qing went to stand up, but Xie Lian pulled him back down.
“No! We need to finish ours first,” Xie Lian said.
Mu Qing heaved a dramatic sigh. “I’m trusting Fafa to fix this.”
Hua Cheng let out another little chuckle. “Already on it.”
He’d painted the base lines and had entrusted Feng Xin to paint each figure and line he’d created. Once he’d doubled back to assist, however, he’d found only a bit of a mess.
“I remember being a better painter than this,” Feng Xin muttered.
“You do?” Xie Lian teased. Feng Xin turned redder.
“It’s been a long 800 years, alright!”
“It’s fine,” Hua Cheng said. Feng Xin still wasn’t used to hearing those kinds of words from the man in red, and he blinked in surprise, moving his hands away from his face.
“You have paint in your hair,” Hua Cheng informs him, taking the brush gently from Feng Xin’s scarred fingers. Immediately, he brought his hands to his head, tugging at thick brown strands until they were clean.
“Thank you. Should I- can I still help paint?”
Hua Cheng hummed as he fixed a few of the painted details on Xie Lian’s face. “You can do what you want.”
Feng Xin hesitated slightly before picking up a new paintbrush and dipping it into a swirl of jet-black.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
“I don’t think this looks like the palace in Xianle,” Mu Qing insisted, tilting his head to the side. “Are you sure there was a gate on that side?” “Creative liberties, Qing-er,” Xie Lian admonished playfully. With a masterful stroke of gold, he finished his side of the painting. He leaned back to admire the painting, and Mu Qing’s arm went around his waist protectively.
“It does look nice,” Mu Qing admitted. His expression was a bit soft, and Xie Lian took this as a good sign.
“Doesn’t it bring back good memories?” he asked.
“Yeah,” Mu Qing said. Suddenly looking embarrassed, his features sharpened and he leaned around the small pile of books they’d propped up to hide their paper from the other two. “Hey! Are you two done!”
“Don’t rush the creative process!” Feng Xin shot back.
“You mean Hua Cheng’s creative process,” Mu Qing retorted, grinning. “Fafa, are you ready?”
“Hold on. Still fixing this idiot’s mess,” he replied affectionately. Feng Xin’s face went red again and he ducked behind their own wall.
“I’m proud of you for painting again after… you know, what happened last time,” Xie Lian called across the room. He leaned over again to add another detail to one of their clouds. Mu Qing leaned his head against the prince’s shoulder and made a sound of approval.
“H-huh? Wait, what happened last time?” Feng Xin asked.
“You really don’t remember?” Mu Qing inquired, incredulous.
“Never mind,” Xie Lian said quickly, clapping a paint-stained hand over Mu Qing’s mouth. “Let’s not talk about that anymore.”
“I’m done,” Hua Cheng piped in. Xie Lian breathed a sigh of relief and stood up, grabbing one side of the painting carefully. Mu Qing wordlessly took up the other, though the amused sparkle in his eyes told Xie Lian that he was still thinking about Feng Xin’s terrible last attempt at art.
“Come over here, let’s all take a look.”
The other two crossed the room to join them in the middle, laying their creation down. As if practiced, the two pairs switched positions to look at the others’ painting.
Hua Cheng was the first to break the almost reverent silence. “You drew me too nicely.”
Mu Qing burst out laughing. “Feng Xin, did you paint me? I see Fafa didn’t have the time to fix all your mistakes.”
“Shut up!”
“No, no, it’s kind of cute! I like it,” Mu Qing backtracked. “The hair is nice. And I like the nose.”
Feng Xin ignored him, but Mu Qing could see the hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
Xie Lian moved to the other side, apparently to explain some of the painting to Feng Xin and Hua Cheng. “No, I didn’t draw you well enough. Mu Qing did the little details, didn’t he paint nicely? I want to learn to do details like that.”
He looked embarrassed. “It’s not that good, Dianxia. It’s just stuff I learned from doing the fine detailing on your clothes sometimes.”
“No, he’s right. This is really good,” Feng Xin added, leaning down to examine the little figure of himself. “You both did amazingly.”
Xie Lian and Mu Qing had collaborated to paint Xianle’s palace and the capital sweeping below it. From the window of the palace, a younger Xie Lian’s face could be seen, gazing longingly into the distance. On the palace grounds, right before the gate, tiny figures of Feng Xin practicing could be seen, with Mu Qing sweeping in the background. Further below, a small crowd of young children trailed after Mu Qing, while Xie Lian, Feng Xin, and Hong-er watched. Off to the side, tucked into a corner, Hong-er placed a flower at the feet of one of Xie Lian’s old divine statues.
The most beautiful part, however, was the top and center.
Awash in golden light, the four stood together, hovering above all the scattered figures below. They were all dressed differently, with their own little detailed facial features. Mu Qing had very carefully painted miniscule freckles, the kind that Xie Lian got from being out in the sun all day long, on the miniature version of him, along with the small scar along Feng Xin’s eyebrow and dangling silver earrings from Hua Cheng’s ears.
“Wow,” Feng Xin said softly. “You really did outdo yourselves.”
“Can I hang this up in Paradise Manor?” Hua Cheng requested.
“Not fair! We’re sharing,” Mu Qing said.
Xie Lian smiled. “We can hang it here, in Puqi Shrine. Both of them.”
The four simultaneously turned and moved to examine the painting done by Hua Cheng and Feng Xin.
It was almost painfully clear who had done what part of the painting. Xie Lian couldn’t help the little grin that appeared on his face and Feng Xin turned away, crouching down to bury his face in his arms. “Okay, okay, I get it!”
Hua Cheng had managed to clean up most of the painting, smoothing out the lines of their clothes and fixing the flow of their hair. The background was beautifully peaceful, a deep purple sky scattered with bright silver stars. Each person in the painting possessed a relaxed pose and a happy expression, gazing up at the sky together. Xie Lian spotted the touch of his and Feng Xin’s hands, settled together on the grass. Meanwhile, Mu Qing’s head leaned softly on Xie Lian’s shoulder, and Hua Cheng lay sprawled with his back to the ground and his own head propped up against Feng Xin’s lap. Altogether, the scene was conventionally mundane, yet incredibly sweet, but parts of it still stood out as glaringly awkward. Places where an odd color had been used, or a streak of color stretched outside of their designated lines.
Even more clear, however, was the amount of tender effort the artists had put into their work, and Mu Qing felt a bit guilty for laughing.
“I like it. It’s much better than anything my devotees have ever come up with, anyway,” Mu Qing told Feng Xin, running a thumb over his painted self’s crooked jaw.
Xie Lian walked over to Feng Xin and pulled him to his feet and tugged him over to stand with the others. “I’m very proud of you. And you too, San Lang. This was fun!”
“It was,” Mu Qing agreed.
“Let’s never do this again,” Feng Xin said.
“I think we should,” Hua Cheng told them.
“Please, no,” Feng Xin pleaded.
“We’ll talk about that another time. Now, can we hang these up now?” Xie Lian said.
The other three exchanged glances before shrugging.
“We should put yours up here, where the lighting hits!”
“Ooh, what about on the shrine?”
“Hell, no! That’s for Dianxia!”
“Calm down, calm down…”

HuaLian mpreg drabble:
x-x-x-x-x
Hua Cheng and Xie Lian smiled at each other. Xie Lian was a little dazed looking at Hua Cheng's face: All the wildness in his sharp beauty was transformed by joy. He was alight, like a fire in a windstorm.
Suddenly, however, Hua Cheng's smile dropped.
"San Lang?" Xie Lian asked.
Hua Cheng took his hand and gently tugged him in the direction of the altar. Xie Lian complied and then sat obediently on the altar. Hua Cheng folded his hands in prayer.
Xie Lian smiled in anticipation. What cute thing had Hua Cheng thought of?
"GEGE," Hua Cheng cried in his mind.
The prayers of grand believers were amplified in gods' minds. Xie Lian startled.
"Dianxia. My one and only god," Hua Cheng pleaded.
"What is it, San Lang?" Xie Lian replied, his eyes wide.
"Please," Hua Cheng said "would you grant me the honor of fulfilling prayers in your name?"
"..."
Xie Lian blinked. He seriously considered Hua Cheng's prayer, since he had taken the effort to make it official and everything. The thing he didn't understand was why Hua Cheng would ask for such a thing. He knew Xie Lian preferred to answer his worshippers' prayers himself...
"At least for the next few months," Hua Cheng begged.
Ah. Xie Lian understood. He briefly contemplated the heroics he had performed in fulfilling prayers lately. Meaning, within the past couple of months. When he'd been unknowingly been bringing a passenger along.
"En," Xie Lian decided, flushing with guilt. "Granted."
"Thank you," Hua Cheng fervently responded.

Pairing: Hualian, Hua Cheng x Xie Lian, modern, but not a modern AU
Warnings: Toothrotting fluff, I cannot be held accountable for the cavities you may get.

The rain poured outside, it's pitter-patter hitting the roof casting a soothing ambiance in Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's home. Xie Lian had proposed a movie night. It had been a while since the two of them were able to spend time with each other.
As the way the economy was working began shifting a long time ago the two of them found themselves having to adjust to 'modern' life. They found jobs for a while. His San Lang was quick to establish his own company.
When it became a hit Hua Cheng had told him there wasn't any need for him to work anymore, he could stay home and spend his days as he wished.
But, Xie Lian found he quite liked working. Though, he did cut back to working only part time. He enjoys seeing fresh faces and occasionally making a new friend.
He smiles to himself as he thinks back on a few of the fun personalities he's met. He finishes adjusting the pillows and blankets he's made a pile out of, and moves the snacks he'd grabbed from the pantry to the side so they're out of the way for the two of them to settle down.
He turns off the overhead lights, leaving only the lamps on so the room is dimmer.
As he stands with his hands on his hips, smiling proudly to himself he feels a hand sneak around him and a kiss to the side of his temple.
He smiles as he turns to Hua Cheng. His husband squeezes him closer with one arm while the other supports a tray with popcorn, hot chocolate, and a plate of cookies they'd made the night before.
The cookies didn't come out great, but at least they were only burnt this time.
Hua Cheng scans the pile of blankets in front of the couch and gives Xie Lian a cheeky smile, "It looks like Gege had a fun time in here? The few refreshments I brought pale in comparison to your work."
He's teasing and Xie Lian knows it, but he still smiles sheepishly as Hua Cheng let's go to place his tray to the side with the snacks.
"I just wanted to make sure the floor would be comfortable for us, And I appreciate San Lang's snacks very much." He takes a seat in the blanket pile and grabs Hua Cheng's sleeve to pull him in.
Hua Cheng lands with a soft 'oof' even though they both know Xie Lian wasn't using enough strength to really pull him down. The two of them laugh for a moment as Hua Cheng wraps an arm around shoulders and pulls him in close.
Xie Lian grabs the remote and turns on the TV. As the movie began, their focus shifted entirely to the screen.
The first movie that came on was an action-packed adventure, filled with a classic hero and villain dynamic and epic battles. They exchange whispers of excitement when they remark the thrilling scenes. Xie Lians eyes shine with awe as he finds one actors stances, fake or not, to be exceptional.
Occasionally Xie Lian leans into Hua Cheng's embrace, though Hua Cheng's body us naturally cold he feels warmth and love there.
After the action movie, Xie Lian quickly flips the channel to find a heartwarming romantic comedy. He selects it, knowing that Hua Cheng, whether he'll admit it or not, has a soft spot for such stories.
The characters on the screen navigated through comedic misunderstandings and eventual confessions of love. Xie Lian couldn't help but giggle at certain witty dialogues, glancing sideways at Hua Cheng who sported an affectionate smile.
As the movie went on, Xie Lian found himself growing drowsy. Though he doesn't need sleep as a heavenly official he's noticed every now and then when he and Hua Cheng are wrapped around each other like this he feels sleepy like this.
He let's his eyelids droop, his weight slowly leaning on Hua Cheng's chest. Feeling his beloved's fatigue, Hua Cheng wraps his other arm around Xie Lian, holding him close and providing a comfortable resting space.
Softly, Hua Cheng murmured, "Rest, my precious Gege. I'll keep you safe and warm."
With that Xie Lian's eyes fluttered closed, lulled by the soothing sounds of the rain outside and the movie playing in the background. They remained like that, intertwined on the couch, as he drifted off.
When Xie Lian awoke the movie was long over. Hua Cheng had covered them both with a blanket, shieldinf them from the chilly air. Xie Lian smiled, feeling a deep sense of gratitude for the love and care Hua Cheng constantly showered upon him.
He remembers a time when he was so alone, he thought the whole world had abandoned him.
While he's certain he'll never forget those events, he's glad as he can feel himself slowly for getting what it feels like to be so alone.
"Thank you, San Lang." Xie Lian whispers, his voice almost silent as he drifts off again.
A/N: This takes place in modern times but it isn't a modern universe.
Hua Cheng cracks his eye open, pressing a gentle kiss to Xie Lian's nose, causing an amused puff of air to leave him.
"Anything for my beloved Dianxia."

This is just me assuming the two of them make it to the modern day.
I'd like to believe they do, regardless of if it's cannon or not!
Side note, does anyone know how to center text on tumblr?
I tried to figure out how to center with html for like an hour and just couldn't get it to work for some reason.

TGCF First Read Reactions - Ch. 25
**Spoiler Warning**
SL refusing to put XL down because he just brutally murdered a bunch of Ban Yue-ans and he will not let his dian xia get dirty X-D.
'There wasn't even any sounds of breathing or heartbeat from the San Lang who's next to him.' - Whomp.
XL impulsively sending out Ruoye to help SL even though SL clearly has sh** on lock down. And then SL gently letting XL know he doesn't have to exert himself. Just... these two.... staaaaahhppp. You're too cute.
'This guy can't possibly enjoy fighting while carrying someone?' - oh he does... as long as that someone is you <3
'"You can't possibly keep holding me like this?" "I could." San Lang replied.' - Internally stamping my feet and squealing.
When XL sees some of the death around them and XL asks if SL was responsible for all of it. SL pausing before answering because he's worried gege will dislike him for it. But then XL just scolds him for his risky behavior and SL basically short circuits. - guys... please... there's only so much of this I can take before my internal stamping and flailing becomes external stamping and flailing.
XL giving no sh**s about people's statuses. A+ person.
"Relationships should depend on chance and whether if we're on the same wavelength, not on social status." - just going to casually leave this here.
'He was still letting San Lang carry him, and the scary thing was, he had gotten used to being in this position without realizing it!' - also just going to casually leave this here.
And just knowing all of this is going down while Ke Mo is just awkwardly off to the side, third-wheeling like a champ...
Ke Mo explaining events while also cursing hysterically and talking at a speed that XL can't keep up with... 'He [XL] looked to San Lang and quietly called, "San Lang, San Lang." San Lang translated.' - San Lang Baike translation app at your service. (XL, you're too adorable)

Someone, to Xie Lian: Hey, can I have your number?
Xie Lian, confused: Um, okay—
Hua Cheng, slapping Xie Lian’s phone to the ground: It’s broken, sorry.
