Woes of Reincarnation Part 2 [Yandere! Miguel x Fem! Reader]
Tumblr media
Chapter Synopsis: You’re an Alchemax neuroscientist specializing in genetics and cognition memory research. Outside of work, you spend majority of your time with your daughter Gabriella and your partner Miguel. For the most part, you loved your life - you had a thriving career, a lovely daughter, and your wonderful stay-at-home partner who supported you and cared for your small bundle of joy in ways you were unable to. But slowly but surely, something starts to seem amiss with your husband and you realise that Miguel is not who you knew him to be. This is a sequel to this
Warnings: As this is yandere fiction, this deals with behaviours and themes of that can be uncomfortable to read. Specific warnings: implied noncon. This work also has spoilers about Miguel from the comics. Read at your own risk. This work is purely fictional, I do not condone this behaviour irl. Establishing yourself at your current point in career was a lot of work hard; from extensive studying, to jumping from one temporary contracted job to another, it often made you want to hit your head against the wall in frustration. Amidst all the chaos, the universe threw even more at you; just as you were finishing your PHD, and were starting to climb your career ladder, you had found out that you were pregnant. It was nerve wrecking, stressful, exciting, and involved so many other emotions and tears, and pondering over countless of future possibilities. Becoming overwhelmed from all of this was beginning to drive you mad. But lucky for you, Miguel was the perfect anchor to your chaotic storm of thoughts; he was with you every step of the way and was amazing at providing you the reassurance you needed. After your daughter was born, whom you had named Gabriella, things had been very challenging at first: you had to look after your daughter while still having your own recovery. Miguel took on additional responsibilities while also trying to look after you and your daughter as well. Eventually, after a few years passed, it became easier to manage and cope with the challenges that came with looking after a tiny human. Both of you decided that you were going to work full-time at your new job, while Miguel would be the stay at home partner to look after Gabriella.
Over the years, you made exceptional progress in your career until you got to your current position. While you really enjoyed your work in the past, recently, it was starting to become too stressful and impact your mental health. There was a certain feeling of being done etched in your body language. And despite the fact that you looked after your physical health, there was a new type of dullness on your face in place of your usual genuine contentment, and the glint of mischief that always gleamed in your eyes and smiles was starting to disappear.
A heavy sigh escaped your lips as you unlocked the front door and entered your abode. You took off your outdoor shoes and placed them on the shoe rack, while simultaneously slipped your feet in your indoor slippers. As you walked through the hallway and into the main living room, you raised your eyebrow in surprise when you saw Miguel leaning against the kitchen counter closest to you, with his back turned against you, and nervously tapping his index finger on the counter’s marble surface.
“What are you doing here?” You asked simply, and threw your jacket and keys carelessly on the dinning table as you walked towards the kitchen.
Your usual very composed and charismatic husband jumped at the sound of your voice. He whipped around in shock, his eyes wide, looking like a deer caught in headlights. He seemed even more jumpy when you neared him in proximity, grabbed onto the collar of his white shirt, and strongly pulled him down to your level for a chaste kiss as a greeting. Usually, your pecks that started out as a quick greeting, would turn into deeper, and more passionate kisses, almost into a full make out session. But that wasn’t the case this time around; this time around, Miguel was simple frozen in surprise as you kissed him. He did not respond back, and his hands were raised and stilled awkwardly in mid air as if he was going to push you away, but didn’t due to some last minute realisation. It was very strange because he never hesitated to wrap his arms around you and pull you closer until there was no physical space left, and one of his hands would be tangled messily in your locks. The awkwardness of the entire situation made you pull away instantly, and there was even more confusion evident in your eyebrow raise. Nonetheless, you released your hold on him, and started to work your way around the kitchen like your usual evening routine.
“I’m surprised that you’re already home. Picking up Gabriella from her tennis practice and the groceries, you usually wouldn’t be home for another hour,” You remarked causally, while you put on your bright pink apron that had ‘Kiss the chief’ written on it. It was one of the gifts your Miguel and Gabriella had given you on the most recent mother’s day, so anytime you wore it, they had an excuse to shower you in kisses.
Miguel blinked owlishly, as he stared hard at the words written on your apron for for a good few seconds, before returning his gaze to you. He showed no signs of moving closer to you to kiss you like he usually would.
“Uh, doesn’t she have tennis practice on Tuesdays and not today? Besides, I don’t have the car.” He responded simply.
You blinked at him in confusion. “She has her practice today - she has her coaching on Tuesdays and her club games on Friday. And what do you mean you don’t have the car? I left the keys in front of the TV and its parked right outside on the street...? We talked about it this morning - you dropped me off to work and I took the train back. This is no new information, come on Miguel,” You retorted, and opened the fridge to get the needed ingredients you required to make dinner. However, there was barely anything in there - your eye twitched. You turned to Miguel with your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“How come you didn’t go grocery shopping?” You asked. Just as Miguel was about to respond, your eyes widened in another realisation.
“Don’t tell me you forgot to pick up Gabriella?! No wonder I don’t hear her trotting around! Miguel! What’s wrong with you today?!” You snapped, and instantly untied your apron, and took it off instantly.
At the shift of annoyance in your tone, Miguel’s eyebrow twitched in anger. It wasn’t his fault that he didn’t know - this wasn’t even meant to be his responsibility. It was supposed to be your Miguel’s responsibility but he was dead now. He simply chose to replace him in this dimension because he had a family; he felt sorry for the young child who had lost her father, and a bit sorry for you, who would have been a full-time working single mother if you had found that your husband was dead. He was doing you a favour, and you had no idea how grateful you should be. But alas, you were so bossy instead. He wanted to reveal the truth so he could see the reaction on your face, but he couldn’t disclose anything. For his young child, he would endure.
“You didn’t tell me to do so,” He responded coldly, since there was no other way he knew how to carry out his argument.
You were so confused by his response that you had to stop for moment and gather your thoughts. You blinked at him in confusion, even more so, when you noticed the anger on his face - Miguel never got angry that easily.
“It’s the same routine every week...? What’s there to tell?” You murmured to yourself. You glanced at him once more, and you looked at him from the top of his head, to the soles of his feet in scrutiny multiple times. Upon closer inspection, you saw something different about him; the exhaustion in his body - it was an exact reflection of yours. He looked like he was done. It made you think:  had you been so busy thinking about your own problems at work that you forgot to check in with your own husband? Had you relied on him to take care of you and Gabriella so much that you forgot to do your part and look after him?!
Guilt wallowed up in your chest, and your throat started to feel constricted - you were starting to feel anxious again. However, just before your anxiety could overwhelm you, you pushed it down. Miguel needed you right now, not the other way around.
“I’m sorry for snapping at you, love. I shouldn’t have done that. I guess work’s been too stressful,” You mumbled, and then, walked closer to Miguel. The Spider-Man was genuinely surprised at the quick apology that left your lips; he was even more shocked when you walked in front of him once more, and gave him a bright grin. He was taken back by how beautiful you looked when you were smiling and the way your face glowed when a hint of joy shone through.
“We both seem to be having a tough time today, how about we get things done together and just relax? Let’s go pick up our cheeky munchkin and order in, we’ll get your favourite! Sounds good?” You said grinning wider, and cheekily swung your hip against his. Given his build and strength as Spider-Man, it barely did anything. But your joy and cheekiness was contagious because Miguel returned your grin with a playful scoff off his own. Instinctively, he lifted you up easily, and the suddenness of the gesture made you yelp in surprise. You easily wrapped your legs around his tiny slutty waist as he supported your weight by holding you in both of his arms, and wrapped your arms around his neck. You combed through his soft brown locks with one of your hands, and leaned closer to his face; Miguel felt flustered.
“Can I kiss you?” You whispered softly, looking at him with so much love and longing in your eyes as if he had hung up the moon and stars for you. No one had looked at him with so much love before. Miguel felt flustered. Instead of answering you, he tightened his hold onto you, as he brought you closer to him until you were absolutely squished against his physique. He felt more muscular than before, and his grip on you felt more possessive rather than his usual protective one. But, you weren’t the one to complain since this was so much better than the awkwardness from before.
Miguel moved his arms so he supported your weight with one, and held the back of your head with the other. Then, he guided you down until your lips locked. It was a nice kiss, a bit clumsy than usual, but nice nonetheless. He didn’t want to follow your lead like he usually did, so you tried to follow his lead instead. It was definitely different, even more so, when you felt him bite your bottom lip hard. You yelped in pain and tried to pull away from him. Your efforts were fruitless for a few seconds until Miguel eased his grip at the back of your head. Just as he let you go, enough blood gathered instantly at the spot you were bitten on your lip that it started to drip down your chin. Immediately, Miguel licked it and then gazed at you with his disheveled hair hovering above the predatory and lust gleaming in his red eyes. Both of you breathed heavily, but he wore a giant grin  that showed off his canines. When did Miguel have canines?
“What you said sounded good, but I would like it much better if we could relax, just the two of us, later tonight.”
                                                         ***
Once upon a time, Miguel was a bright and innovative scientist himself. He was intelligent and quick to grasp things. For that reason, it didn’t take him long to adapt to the same lifestyle that the original Miguel of this dimension was living. Actually, this domestic life was so much better and easier than his job had been at Alchemax. Maybe, it was easy because he genuinely came to love it; he loved his daughter Gabriella like he had anticipated he would. But first impressions aside, he was also surprised at how quickly he came to love you. You were just so caring and attentive, and everytime you smiled your lovely smile, he swore, cupid’s arrow shot through his heart. You always looked at him with so much love - and it didn’t just end there - you always showed your love through actions too. Every morning when you woke up, before going to sleep, coming home, before leaving, and if you saw each other just after a few hours, you always kissed him. They were such passionate kisses too - it was addictive. All of your little quirks and the constant displays of affection were addictive. For once, Miguel was constantly surrounded by love and happiness. He loved it, and he was going to do anything to protect it.
Although he did love his current life, there were some things that he did wish could be better - like how he wished he could spend more time with you. He had been trying to talk you into reducing your work hours, because recently, it seemed like you just were getting busier and busier. Your acts of affection, your long lasting kisses -- everything was becoming quicker and more rushed. The nights of intimacy you shared often when he had first came into your life versus recently, were much fewer too. It was distraughting and almost starting to feel frustrating because he had become accustomed to everything you had given him. For the life of him, he couldn’t understand how he had ever managed to live without having you by his side. Now, it was almost to the point where he felt that his even spider craved you.
It was another night like the one’s recently. Presently, it was just after 9:30 pm, half an hour after Gabriella has been put to bed. Miguel had just come out of a steaming hot shower - his skin carried an underlying darker red hue indicating just how boiling hot the water had to be, and he only wore a small white towel around his hips. He was hoping that giving you a preview would help him finally get another night of sex with you. But the moment he had stepped out of your shared ensuite, and was browsing through your shared closet, pretending to look for clothes, you paid no attention to him. Instead, you were entirely focused on the folders of paperwork labelled ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ in big block red letters that you had been bringing home from work every, single, fucking, day.
Come to think of it, exactly what was your job? Why were you the one that had chosen to work rather than his alternate deceased self? Surely, if his deceased self was also a scientist at Alchemax like he had been, he had to be making more than enough money.
In the end, Miguel mindless chose to wore a pair of grey sweatpants and a plain black t-shirt. He climbed into your shared bed with you,  and snatched your papers from your hands. You yelped when this happened suddenly, and immediately tried to wrestle Miguel for them as he started to look over their content himself.
“What the hell, Miguel?! Give those back to me right now! That’s confidential!” You yelled, while trying to climb over him in whatever way you could to get your paperwork back. Miguel simply ignored you, and easily held you back with one arm, while holding up the papers with his other hand, and reading them.
It read:
“ALCHEMAX PROPERTY
ONGOING RESEARCH PROGREES: PROJECT DIMCOG6.V - COGNITION AND MEMORY THROUGH THE MULTIVERSE
RESEARCH LEAD: [Name] O’Hara
‘-utlising deep learning neural networks, we have managed to analyse microarray data at an anatomical level[1]. Given this groundbreaking discovery, we can hypothetically give ourselves false memories of living in another universe and completely alter our reality. Or, we could even transfer the psych of our alternative self to our current self. Tests will need to be conducted-”
“You’re... working for Alchemax?” Miguel asked in disbelief, looking at you with wide eyes - like he didn’t knew you at all. In a way, that was not far from the truth.
You took his shock as an opportunity to snatch your paperwork back, and scoffed at him. “Of course I am. I don’t see why you’re so surprised? You’re the one who told me to take the job when I was offered it.”
You carefully tied up your paperwork the way you had brought it from work, before setting it on the bedside table beside you. You turned towards Miguel and scowled at him.
“I’d appreciate it if you don’t just snatch my things. Seriously Miguel, what is with you recently? You’re so moody and quick to temper! I understand you may be stressed and I’m seriously trying my best to make things as easy as possible for you, but you can’t just do whatever you want. You know I’m having a really hard time at work right now as it is, I don’t need you making it the same for me at home. Back off a bit, yeah?” You snapped. Instantly, you turned away from him. You had been feeling your regular nightly migraine building up for a while, and the stress from dealing with Miguel just seemed to have triggered it. You took off your reading glasses so they were resting on your head instead of your nose; a heavy sigh left your lips as you rubbed your temple to try soothe your headache.
You failed to notice the angry red eyes that were glaring at you.
“I didn’t know that you were working for the filth of Alchemax.... And I didn’t tell you to take that job, I would never allow my own wife to betray me like that. If it really had been me, in the first place, you wouldn’t even be working.”  Miguel hissed, as he had moved closer to you until his body was pressing right against your side. Then, he leaned closer to you, and gently nipped you right behind your earlobe. Chills went through your spine, and you groaned in frustration; you failed to understand exactly what Miguel words implied due to your horrible headache reducing your ability to focus.
“I don’t have the energy to worry about your nuances Miguel, nor do I have the energy for sex tonight. Just let me rest,” You murmured, and tried to swat at his arms he wrapped around you possessively.
You didn’t get the response you wanted - verbally or his actions wise. Instead, you screamed as Miguel pushed you so you laying on your back, and he sat on you immediately. From the impact, your glasses were swung backwards randomly and dug into the randomest part of your neck painfully. You winced and tried to move so they weren’t digging into your skin, but you were unable to move since Miguel had your wrists pinned down on the bed in each hand. He pushed all of his bodyweight on you making it hard to breath, and leaned down until he was right next to your ear.
“Let me rephrase what I said, and really listen this time, okay? You’re my smart little scientist, I’m sure you can figure it out.” He whispered sensually, and this time, bit your earlobe hard enough to draw blood.
You cried out in pain. You tried to wriggle yourself free, but your efforts continued to be in vain. When Miguel applied more pressure on your wrists to the point it felt like they were going to break, you stopped struggling. However, your breath started to pick up and your throat felt tight. Despite how light headed you felt, you understood that this wasn’t normal. His grip wasn’t normal - your Miguel would never do something like this. He had never raised his voice at you, much less be physically violent with you the way the stranger on top of you was being. So, for your own sake, you listened attentively to what he had to say.
“I didn’t tell you to take the job. I would never tell you to take any job, much less at Alchemax, especially after what they did to me. If it had been me, the me in front of you right now, I would keep you locked up in a safe little cage that I make just for you.”
Tears welled in the corner of your eyes. You hoped that what you were thinking wasn’t right.
“W-What they did to you...? You never told me? I, I don’t understand-” You tried to say. You weren’t sure if you were just repeating yourself like a parrot because there wasn’t enough oxygen flowing in your brain to think rationally, or you were desperately hoping that what you understood to be the truth, wasn’t actually the truth. Maybe it was both.
“I’m not your Miguel, I never was. Where I’m from, I used to be scientist at Alchemax. They spliced my DNA with a spider when I tried to quit,” Miguel started, and then, flashed his fangs at you. “I have access to many dimensions. I saw that the me of this dimension was killed and out of pity, I decided to take his place so Gabriella wouldn’t be fatherless and you wouldn’t be a single mother.
“You really pissed me off in our first interaction.... but now, now, I love you, I can’t see myself without you. I might not be your Miguel yet, but you are my [Name]. Thanks to your research, we can start again. I can figure out a way to change your memories so you’ll know me as your Miguel from the start. I’m sure there’s a dimension out there somewhere we can use.” He whispered in your ear, and then, grinded against you.
Goosebumps of repulsion and fear arose across your skin - you shook your head in denial.
“Don’t, please don’t do that. You have no idea what you’re messing with--”
“Shut up. Now that you know, you’re going to see what I would have done with you in the first place. I’m going to keep you locked up in a cage I make just for you. No work, no research, nothing for you. I’m going to keep you locked up so you’re not a tired cranky bitch and I’m going to be the only person you see. I’m going to make you so touch starved so that whenever you see me, you’re going to be nothing but yearning and desperate for any ounce of attention that I give you.”
Then, Miguel wrapped his hands around your neck, and pressed tightly onto your trachea until you passed out from the lack of oxygen. He grinned widely.
“Goodnight [Name]. We’ll meet again on the other side.”
                                                          ***
[1] deep learning neural network is a type of AI technique that mimics the workings of a human brain. It’s used in neuroscience to study the complex intra- and interhemispheric coherence, and other brain regional interactions in relation to cognition and behaviour.
Microarray data refers to studying many genes at once. So, given all this, and how astrophysics works (if you were to be anywhere in the universe, like being pulled into a black hole or a neutron star), their ruthless gravity would literally tear you apart at your atoms level. So my theory is that, if you were to transfer “memories and cognition” through dimensions and defy the very essence of space and time, you’d need to have studied the neurobiology at the atoms level to the very least. [JUST MY THEORY BASED ON WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THESE SUBJECTS. I JUST WANTED TO NERD OUT OKAY]
[2] basically the ‘isekai’d’ reader’s memories in Part 1 can be understood in this  way: in all the manipulation of memories that Miguel does after this, [Name] gets so many new memories implanted she eventually remembers all of this. She made an escape plan to stage her own death and live in the shadows with random memories planted (like she thinks she reincarnated and lived in a ‘different’ world) but thats actually just false memories. And given how much Miguel was trying to code that “she loves him” in her genes everytime he changed her memories, that turns into a false memory of him being her favourite character and that she “simps for” so she automatically wants to seek him out to meet him when she gets “reincarnated”
I hope everything I explained makes sense and that you enjoyed this! Let me know if you have any questions!

Logically speaking, Vigilante was a terrifying person. He was dangerous and a true psychopath. He was even more terrifying when you realized his secret identity was so mundane. A nerdy looking busboy with an old car and a tendency to inanely ramble was the last person anyone would expect to be a serial killer.
Upon finding out who Adrian Chase really was, any sane person would have turned him in. You were sane but also scared, and fear will turn any smart person into an idiot. So you begged him to leave you alone in exchange for keeping his secret.
You kept your mouth shut and he let you move on. And then you needed him…
Tumblr media
Fear will turn any smart person into an idiot. You stayed in the next relationship about five years too long. Sure you tried to leave the man, tried in many different ways, but he always found a way to make you stay. He didn't only convince you to put up with the abuse, he convinced you that you deserved it.
He was a cop, well liked and well respected. Any attempt to file a report against him ended up swept under the rug. You were told, softly and gently, that you were overreacting. You were lucky to have a man like him as a partner. Sure, lucky. The ER doctors thought so too. Lucky that you were still alive.
Still alive.
That's what gave you the idea. How could you have forgotten? Sure Vigilante was terrifying, but…
Now you were waking up in Adrian’s bed, alone, and wearing his clothes once again. The only thing you had on you when you fled was your phone. Which, given the circumstances, probably wouldn’t be in service for much longer. He let you into his house, again. He listened intently as you explained what happened. Since you had nowhere else to go, he offered to let you stay at his place.
You showered and he let you borrow some of his clothes, then he patched you up (“Good thing I have a lot of experience with this!”) Like a gentleman he let you sleep in his bed while he slept on his couch. He even told you to lock the door so you’d feel safe. Safe. You couldn’t remember what that felt like.
Tumblr media
“I have to work late tonight.” He told you before he left for work the next afternoon. “Help yourself to anything. Relax and get some rest. I’ll see you in the morning.”
He waved at you. With the exception of when he was treating your wounds, he made a very obvious effort to give you space. It was actually reassuring.
“Oh! And you should probably turn off your phone so they can’t track you!” He then paused and scrunched up his face in that way you used to find so cute (maybe you still do?). “But, you can turn it back on to call me if you need anything. If you want.”
You could only offer him a wan smile and a weak, “okay.”
Then he left you all alone in his home.
You were used to spending your days alone at home. But they were filled with anxious cleaning and cooking and primping and doing everything possible to make sure nothing set him off. But Adrian had told you to rest and relax and seemed genuine about it. So you helped yourself to a small breakfast, cleaned up the dishes, and went back to sleep.
Tumblr media
Adrain still used the same laundry detergent, still used the same brand of all in one shampoo-conditioner-soap. The familiarity of it was an unexpected comfort that made it easy to fall asleep. Turns out an abused, anxious and fear ridden body will greedily take all the rest it can get when offered.
It was just past three in the morning when you woke up next. You weren’t sure if you woke because of the twelve hour nap or because of the few thumps you heard from elsewhere in the house. You sat up and realized the noise must have been Adrian trying, and failing, to be quiet in his own kitchen.
An actual smile crossed your face, the fearsome Vigilante was somehow a terrible sneak.
You did your best to smooth out the slept in clothes and rub the sleep from your eyes before you quietly made your way to the kitchen.
He was humming. Digging through the fridge and humming something you were pretty sure he was making up on the spot. He was even dancing a little as he turned around, sandwich ingredients in hand.
“Fuck! I didn’t even hear you wake up!” He dropped the food on the counter, you noticed a bit of red smudged on the bottle of mayo. “Oh, fuck! I mean! I didn’t wake you up, did I? I’m so sorry if I did! You really need to rest-”
You were only half listening to his ramble. He was still in his Vigilante suit, with the exception of his mask, which had been replaced by his simple glasses. He looked so much…more in that suit. It was much more form fitting than his usual wardrobe. Maybe it was the padding on the suit, but he seemed bigger than you remembered. He wasn’t your average lanky nerd when you left him, but still, the man in front of you rambling about the importance of sleep could probably easily, well, kill a man.
Your eyes locked onto the chevron chest piece of his suit. That’s where the red smudge on the mayo came from. There was a dull sheen splashed across the black and teal, you could tell it was a dark red from the random droplets across the lightest part of his armor.
Tentatively you reached out, sliding your hand down the chest piece. “Is this…his?”
You looked down at your hand, rubbing the drying sticky blood between your fingers, oddly fascinated with the stain it left on your hands. He’d made you bleed so much, now somewhere out there he was the one bleeding. A part of you wanted to see it.
Adrian stopped his ramble with a thick swallow. He couldn’t tell what you were thinking. You were just…staring at the blood you wiped off of his suit. Your breath quickened, chest heaving slightly, but other than that you said nothing else. You had left him because you found out he killed people. But, you also asked him to kill the guy so…
“Yea. It’s his.”
The silence that followed made Adrian regret not changing back into his regular clothes in the car. He was just so hungry by the time he got home and he forgot the bathroom was through the bedroom, which you had locked. He was just going to wash up in the kitchen sink, but he wanted to eat first because he spent all day doing recon and planning  with the team (because if he was going to kill a cop, he had to be extra careful). And he just wished you’d say something else, anything. Except when you finally did say something, he still couldn’t read you!
“...Did he suffer?”
For a second Adrian thought about lying to you. But then he watched as you continued to smear the blood between your fingers. He might not be able to tell what you were thinking, but at least you didn’t look sad.
“I made him regret ever touching you. He said he was sorry and begged for his life…Then I really made him suffer.”
You froze, which made him freeze too, and slowly looked up at him. You stared at him, your eyes searching his for something he wasn’t sure you wanted to see. But he couldn’t hide himself from you, never could, never wanted to in the first place.
Then a smile started to slowly pull at your lips, reaching your eyes- dilated from fear? Maybe? Maybe not…
“Good.”
He licked his lips, his hands nervously falling to his hips, “uhm. What?”
This time a giggle ripped it way past your lips, you just found him so cute like that, and you gave him a bright smile. “Thank you.”
He sighed and relaxed. “Oh! You’re welcome! You know, even though we broke up, if you ever need me to kill someone-” Maybe that wasn’t the right thing to say. Your smile immediately fell and your eyes went wide.
“Uh, I just mean, I never should have stopped watching over you. I think I saw-”
“What? Watching over me?”
“Yea. It was just to-”
“How long?”
He didn’t miss the breathlessness (panic?) that started to seep into your voice.
Lying to you was always difficult. “Like everyday? Six months? I kept checking on you every once in a while after that. Then you started dating that jackass but he was a cop so I thought you were safe-”
Yea, so did you.
“And then I stopped following you when you deleted your social media-”
“That was the first time he hit me. I, I didn’t want people to see.”
“Fuck. Baby, I’m so sorry! I never should have-”
Baby?
Whatever he was going to say next was swallowed as you surged forward and eagerly pressed your lips to his. Your hands were planted on his chest, in the blood of your abusive ex, fingers curling and uncurling in a desperate attempt to feel it against your skin.
After a few heated moments he pulled away, but one of your hands snaked up to the back of his neck, gripping his hair, eliciting a quiet groan from him, to keep him close.
He opened his mouth, likely to ask if you were thinking clearly. But you cut him off yet again. “Fuck me, Vigilante.”
His eyes went wide as he sucked in a breath.
“Are you sure?” His voice was low and gravelly and you could see in his blown eyes, feel in his hard body, that he needed you to say yes.
Your hands moved up his chest to cup his face, one of your thumbs tracing his bottom lip, leaving a smear of blood on his mouth. His blood on Adrian’s pretty pink lips. “Very.”
He roughly pushed you against the counter, though even in the heat of the moment he was mindful of the bruises that still littered your body, and absolutely devoured you.
Sure, Vigilante was a terrifyingly dangerous person, but now that you knew you still had his heart, so were you.

Still thinking about writing the sequel to my last fic but now I'm getting irate with ACD for all the canonical contradictions again
(How can Watson and the police not know who Moran is in The Empty House when they knew who he was in the late 1880s?
And if they did all know who Moran was in the 1890s then why did none of them seem to have any suspicion of him even when an acquaintance of his was 'mysteriously' shot dead? That would tend to suggest Moran was above suspicion because... he didn't actually do it?
And Watson never refers to the actual trial of Moran, he never states the actual motive for Adair's murder, Moran is specifically stated to be alive many years later. If Moran killed Adair he should be dead within weeks probably given the speed of trials then, and Watson should have some better idea what the motive for the murder was by the time he writes the story. But he still doesn't seem to know what the motive was and Moran is alive.
I mean... were we really, genuinely supposed to infer from this that there was a real possibility that Moran didn't do it? Because there seems to be more evidence that he didn't than that he actually did (also no witnesses and the physical evidence is all completely circumstantial or two badly mangled bullets which couldn't possibly have been compared properly due to the damage and also when forensics was in its infancy then, also no motive even suggested except some petty reason that doesn't sound at all like a reason someone like Moran would murder a man over. Some sort of lover's tiff between him and Adair or Adair being infatuated with Moran and Moran not being interested and having to take extreme measures to fend him off is still far more believable than 'Adair found out he was cheating and this threatened the income he got from cheating at cards' because, firstly how much money was he really going to be making from cheating at a few card games, he wasn't even seemingly playing for huge amounts anyway and secondly, Moran was rich, he had loads of money, what's he supposed to have done with that? The motive suggested is flimsy as hell. Also let's not forget that Adair had broken off his engagement not that long before he died too).
Were we supposed to suspect even that someone else might have organised the murder instead using one of their other contacts? Someone like Moriarty? I know a lot of stuff was just because ACD simply did not care but did he ever have it in mind that Moriarty had survived because it definitely feels like at the very least he was trying to keep his options open with him, the same as he probably was with never actually showing Holmes's death - everything is too vague, nothing is ever confirmed, a lot of details just do not make sense and Watson never sees anything that would confirm to him never mind to us the readers that Moriarty was dead, or that Moran was actually guilty of Adair's murder.
And whatever ACD thought, Watson has definitely lied to the readers somewhere - the same as with Moriarty, he cannot have both known about Moran and not known about Moran at the same time. So why has he lied, what is he hiding?
(He probably did know Moran even before Holmes knew anything about him - their army careers overlapped, they very likely came back to England at the same time maybe on the same ship. Watson, did you really fuck Moran in Afghanistan? Or on the ship. Is that what you're trying to hide?)
And then we get back to the 'why does Holmes specifically not want Moran charged with attempting to murder him even when the evidence of Moran's guilt of Adair's murder is so flimsy surely he'd want to throw everything possible at him?' thing. This also seems to tend to suggest maybe Holmes knew Moran wasn't actually trying to murder him then he was just making a point that he could do so? And what is up with the weirdly homoerotic antagonism between Holmes and Moran anyway?)
The relationships between these four characters - Holmes, Watson, Moriarty, Moran - are so much more complicated than it seems and there has to be a lot more going on there than Watson (or Holmes via Watson) ever lets on. I mean it's fascinating for the possibilities it raises but it is infuriating, all these plot holes and contradictions and just that... so little is ever actually shown to us. Also that so few people ever seem actually interested in exploring any of this, or what really went on between Moran and Adair either. So much gets taken at face value even when it actively contradicts something else but there is so much more to unpick there.)

Let's Get Married (Preview)
Lee Do Hyun X Reader
Tumblr media
Words: 700
Summary : Fake marriage for reality tv to lovers.
Warning : Tooth rotting fluff, horribly slow burn, Lee Dohyun being a cutie over all.
Note: if you haven't seen the kshow "we got married" I would highly recommend watching a few eps before reading. It's fun I promise. The scarcity of kdrama actor fanfics is bothering. This is a full blown series. idk how many parts yet. I'm not delusional.

"So, what made you do the show?" the interviewing staff asks you.
You are a solo artist in the Kpop industry and also a newly debuted actor. You moved to Korea when you were around 18 y/o and all you wanted to do was make music. You got picked up by a company as trained for 4 years before debut. You still remember what your dad said to you “If you don’t make it you can always come back” they were very supportive of your music. They’d be the first ones to know what music you worked on.
You were currently at a pre-show interview with the production staff of "Let's get married" that is a sequel of the show "We got Married" a popular show in Korea that had good ratings because the show brought two celebrities and showed the audience what it would be like if they 'got married'. They would do different tasks to bring the couple closer and end the show in 6 months.
The show got cancelled because it turned out the show was too scripted. The reboot of the show however, the one you are a part of now, is a little different. The progression of the show as you and your 'husband' would be a lot more natural and will be given time to really get to know one another each other.
The show also wanted a sneak peak into the domestic lives of the celebs mimicking shows like 'I live alone' and 'BTS in the soop'. There would be a few dates in the beginning, then you also get married and move in with your 'husband'. It would all be naturally documented and turned into a fun reality show.
The only catch is, you don't know your 'husband'.
You’ll see who the staff picked out for you and who agreed to be on the show while shooting for the first date episode so the reactions of both parties are as genuine as possible for good TV.
You giggle at the question, knowing your answer was going to be too real. "As a Kpop idol and now an actor, I don't really get time to date because I'm very busy with my schedule, but if this show lets me meet new men in the form of work, I thought why not" you smile sheepishly. The production staff also laughs at your answer.
"What is your ideal type?" the interviewer asks you the next question.
Your face lights up at that question and you shift in your chair. "I think I've always been very vocal about my ideal type, the closest I think is Lee Do hyun" You answer smiling brightly.
"Why do you say that?"
"I've seen his work, I'm a huge fan. I've also watched a lot of his interviews and variety show clips, if that’s who he is off camera as well, I think his extroverted personality would gel with my introverted personality, his sense of humour is exactly my style. He also looks like such a cute puppy.” you say like a schoolgirl talking about your crush. "I hope I'm not coming off as a stalker, believe me everyone, I am not” you giggle nervously while making an ‘x’ with your hands.
"Not at all, What do you want from the show? What do you expect to have at the end of this show, considering you will be living and eating with this person everyday for the next 6 months?” She asks you and that question makes you take a deep breath.
“A friend” you ask in an unsure tone.  “I think, if not love, a friend, a companion, that’s enough for me. I believe if you live with someone, the least there is, is a sense of consideration, then slowly moving towards a friend, a companion” you nod while answering.
The staff smiles at your answer. “This is the end of the interview, Thank you for your good work, see you in a weeks time at the shoot”
“Good work today” you say to everyone and bow before leaving the set. The shoot started next week. You were excited.
You were very curious to meet your ‘husband’.

Tell me more about your OC, Thalia! How did you get the idea for her? What’s your fav part about her? Any thoughts about her as a character that ended up on the cutting room floor?
I love those questions! My OCs are my babies, I love talking about them!
I’m super used to writing OCs since that’s usually all I write (The Light of Stars is actually my first fanfic, believe it or not, but I’ve written original stories for literal decades).
Funnily enough, Thalia started with… the name. I knew from the start there would be a lot of references to Greek mythology. Too much to mention here, people who read the fic will know, but I had this idea about Psyche’s journey to the underworld I wanted to reference at some point, and I also wanted a reference to a muse. Thalia had the nicest ring to it while being somewhat referential. Sometimes it’s really as simple as that 😂 I pronounce her Tah-lee-ya btw (it’s a less common pronunciation of that spelling, but it exists. I just didn’t want to spell her Talia for obvious reasons, but she totally sounds like it. And now I’ve destroyed the sound at least half of my readers had in their heads 🙈).
Thalia is the muse of comedy, and I wanted some of that in her. She has this intelligent sense of humour that is both genuine but also a coping mechanism, and it made for an interesting dynamic with Morpheus, who is always so serious. Her humour is, albeit observational, warm. She’s not a cynic although she has every reason to be, and I guess he knows that because he knows her story and what she’s been through, and it probably makes him think. He finds her challenging, but there is also an honesty and emotional openness to her, especially about her own hurt/darkness, that he finds intriguing. And that honesty also extends to how she relates to him—she is someone who actually sees him in the truest sense of the word, and it’s something he both needs so desperately but also finds impossible to trust and fully give in to for a very long time, and for a lot of reasons.
I guess the idea was to find someone who is in many ways like him (only in terms of shared human experience) but has a completely different way of dealing with it. It is, although a love story, at its core an exploration of trauma, loss and grief, of second or even third chances at life (however you might define the latter), and I’d long wondered what would happen if he met someone who is NOT trying to change him. They have their problems and conflicts, yes, but ultimately, this is about a deep mutual understanding that hinges on acceptance. And that acceptance is possible because it was there from the start, for reasons that I won’t give away here, but they are deeply rooted in how she always related to who and what he is on a conceptual level. And now I’m writing the sequel, and it becomes even more important.
My favourite part about her must be how she has the ability to make him laugh? Like, little by little, from something that barely makes him cock an eyebrow to a tug on the corners of his mouth to little smiles that get more frequent. And that moment when he sees the painting and actually realises he *is* like that around her was weirdly emotional to write because it wasn’t planned.
Plus, that she gets him to the stage where his laughs are actually audible, and they’re *not* weird. Well, at least not *that* weird. And from a writer’s point of view, it felt like a really natural, gradual progression that just happened, so it wasn’t something I had plotted. They just did their thing, and I wrote it down 😂
The stuff that ended up on the cutting room floor was mostly related to the no mortals rule. I explored a lot of different angles but ultimately didn’t want her to be a goddess or witch or somehow overpowered to circumvent that, it just didn’t sit right with me. So I spent a lot of time on setting up different beats that might look like one thing or another, but without giving too much away: The whole story hinges on her humanity and mortality, and it was ultimately the only thing that made sense.
Thanks again for the ask. It was a really good opportunity to talk about character creation/development, because so often, people seem to believe that all OCs are straightforward self-inserts, and nothing could be farther from the truth (OC fics aren’t reader fics). It’s impossible for characters not to have little bits of us because they come out of our brains, but they aren’t mirror images. I sometimes give characters little bits I’m confident in writing authentically without having to do a lot of research. For Thalia, it was drawing/painting. I had other female OCs that rode a motorcycle or did a martial art I’ve been familiar with since my childhood, others again were professional performers. I find I can write these things without overwriting them because I know what they feel like. Because sometimes, people will research these things and write them like an instruction manual. And while the detail is correct, someone who really *does* these things would never describe them that way. But that’s often really as far as it goes. It pains me to say that I’m far more like Morpheus than like Thalia, but I didn’t need to self-insert for that to be the case 😂
And now I want to know: What’s your favourite part about her and their dynamic? Other readers are welcome to chime in, too.

PIKMIN 4 THOUGHTS (spoiler free)
I've now officially completed Pikmin 4 (still working on platinums tho) and it's everything I ever wanted and more. There's always going to be a few nitpicks but it's hard to focus on them in light of the absolute love for the franchise on display. It genuinely feels like a fangame at times with the way it uses ideas from 1 and 2. 2 especially gets a lot of love, with this game clearly being a sequel to it in many aspects. In some ways it makes the differences all the more obvious, with certain formerly imposing creatures being easily taken down in this entry, but there's a joy to it as well. Basically everything I could have hoped for has been included, from the Piklopedia to a couple notable unlocks. There's even a few surprises I ended up loving, such as one endgame power up that has me roaming the levels just for the fun of it.
I'll say that the timeline weirdness is... fine? They're clearly poking at the seams throughout the game, it even contradicts itself at one point. Much like the repeated crashes it adds an air of uncertainty and superstition that I don't think needs to be concretely explained. I'm a Zelda Timeline hater so if this is their way of saying they don't feel Pikmin needs a consistent timeline I'm all for it. All of the enemy lore is still intact so I don't see any issues.
Very curious to see what's next for this series and even just this game. It's pretty meaty so I don't feel DLC is necessary but I'm sure we'll at least see an update or two. More frequent Pikmin games is always the hope, though I'm fine with this being the newest game for a while. I also expect at least a secret or two to be found, given the series' track record. 2 especially had quite a few, so if this game loves 2 as much as it proclaims to then I'm sure there's something hiding in it. I did see an alternate title screen once, not sure how to trigger it.
My issues come down to the difficulty and redundancy of some mechanics. Items can make a lot of encounters trivial. The later upgrades make you and Oatchi virtually immortal. The pikmin caller upgrades basically invalidate Oatchi's level 3 command. You can leave caves whenever.  Speaking of Oatchi, basically having a "throw all your pikmin at once" button is incredibly strong and there is almost no trade off especially at max upgrade. Having all of your Pikmin stuck to you also makes things far easier for most combat. All of these issues mostly arise from already having a high skill level at Pikmin, to the point where I didn't need these abilities to do well. I'll be curious to see how newcomers take to the game given this, but a lot of it just feels unnecessary. In some ways it ruins the tone of the series, with 1 and 2 seeming a whole lot more threatening like you’re actually on a dangerous expedition. There’s still some challenge in the endgame but most of the game does feel a bit too easy.
I might come around on the difficulty if there’s a lot of depth to replays and challenges. I'll probably try doing a few challenge runs to see how the difficulty fares. Most prominent to me is a "no upgrade" run, which seems possible. I don't think there are any required upgrades in the lab or for Oatchi other than those given automatically. I think that being able to leave and enter at any sublevel clearly removes any sort of challenge the caves once had as gauntlets, so it makes sense to forego that as well. In fact, I can't think of a single time I actually left in the middle of a cave before beating it. In some ways it makes sense to apply personal restrictions to increase the challenge. Even Pikmin 1 is trivial within 30 days at this point. I'll also be interested to see how speedrunning affects difficulty, since collecting materials to buy upgrades would be unnecessary time. The fact that I'm already thinking about replaying a game that took me 40 hours to finish says a lot. It seems like there's a lot of freedom in how you can approach this game and I can't wait to see it pushed to its limits.
Overall it's a wonderful game. I'm still trying to pinpoint what this game has that Pikmin 3 didn't (other than a ton of content), but it feels a whole lot more satisfying to me than 3 ever did for a similar wait. It’s just so... full. As much as I can nitpick the difficulty and the ways it affects tone, it’s undeniably Pikmin. I haven’t even gushed about the incredible soundtrack or how great the game looks. I’m sure I’ll be playing this for many years to come.

Hot Take: If Black Pearl Cookie Shouldn’t Be A Legendary Because She’s Not An Elemental, Then Neither Should Timekeeper Cookie
So idk if this opinion is very popular still or anything like that, but I genuinely don’t understand why people have such an issue with Frost Queen Cookie and Black Pearl Cookie being Legendaries? Like I get the whole thing about the Elementals and all, but if being an Elemental Guardian or whatever they’re called is the criteria for being a Legendary, then how do you explain characters like the Dragons, Dark Enchantress Cookie, and Timekeeper Cookie?
Btw this is just a ranting post, it’s not meant to be taken too seriously!!! I’m not trying to offend anyone with this, I’m just tired of people harshly criticizing the new Legendaries in Kingdom and calling them “fillers” when that same logic applies to Ovenbreak’s Legendaries. I feel like Tumblr’s a relatively chill and safe place when it comes to sharing opinions, at least safer and more open-minded than TikTok seems to be, so I thought I’d voice my input here. There’s a TLDR at the end.
At the very least, Frost Queen Cookie has known relevancy to the Elemental Guardians as she’s one herself, she’s just Kingdom-exclusive (and with how many Ovenbreak-exclusive characters there are right now, I feel there’s zero reason to complain about this or use it as an argument). You can argue that the Dragons are something of Elementals themselves, but they’re really just like Beasts of Old or something. I don’t know how applicable this is to Ovenbreak Legendaries, but according to the CRK wiki (and yes I’m aware it’s fandom-run and therefore not 100% reliable in interpretations), Legendaries are defined by their god-like statuses and immense influence over Earthbread. Now, with that in mind, let’s take a look at the Legendaries who aren’t Elementals.
1. The Dragons. The Dragons are listed as Legendaries in Ovenbreak, but they’re given the unique rarity of ‘Dragon’ in Kingdom (which I think is complete bs but that’s not the point). The Dragons themselves aren’t Elementals, at least to my knowledge, they DO however have god-like statuses (just look at Longan. Literally just look at Longan Dragon), immense amounts of power, and have a lot of influence over Earthbread’s history. Therefore, they’re deserving of a Legendary status.
2. Dark Enchantress Cookie. The main antagonist of Kingdom (and possibly Ovenbreak? I haven’t seen much Cookies of Darkness content for that game yet, so I’ll mostly be focusing on CRK). You could potentially argue that her status comes from being the reborn version of White Lily Cookie, but the Ancient Heroes are directly connected to the Elements or anything just because they have Soul Jam. Let’s look at some of Dark Enchantress Cookie’s accomplishments throughout CRK’s storyline so far;
- Unleashed havoc on the Night of the Witches and presumably killed at least some Witches, beings who were known to be incredibly powerful and were worshipped as gods by Cookiekind. This is essentially the Cookie Run equivalent of slaughtering gods.
- Waged a war against just about all of Earthbread, or at least the kingdom run by the Ancients, single-handedly causing one of the biggest tragedies in Earthbread’s history. The Dark Flour War not only brought an entire era to an end, but it completely changed the course of Earthbread. Like, the only reason the Crème Republic exists in the way it does is because of Dark Enchantress Cookie declaring war against everyone. And from the looks of it, we’re going to be getting a Dark Flour War 2 (Electric Boogaloo: The Sequel No One In Earthbread Wanted) in future updates of Kingdom.
- Defeated all five of the Ancient Heroes in a battle. You can argue that she had the Cake Witch with her, but these are the five Ancients who were presumably at their peak state during this battle. Still, you could probably argue that there’s a weird situation with White Lily Cookie in this scene, but even then, that’s four Ancient Heroes who are presumably at their peak state.
I was also gonna bring up how the Soul Jam got shattered/scattered at the climax of the Dark Flour War, but I honestly don’t know if Dark Enchantress Cookie did that or if Pure Vanilla Cookie did that when he sealed her away, so I’m not gonna use that as a point. But regardless, literally the whole Night of the Witches situation and the Dark Flour War makes her one of the most important figures in Earthbread’s history. Dark Enchantress Cookie is a TOP example of a Cookie who deserves the Legendary rarity without being connected to the Elements.
3. Timekeeper Cookie. I don’t know Timekeeper’s canon pronouns off the top of my head, so I’ll be using they/them. Feel free to inform me on those. But anyway, Timekeeper Cookie literally has no connection to the Elements. There isn’t even anything you can argue about this. Their control and mastery over time comes from their Sonic Embroider, which is an invention. It’s not an inherent power or anything. Because in order for Timekeeper Cookie to have a connection to the Elements, Croissant Cookie needs a connection to the Elements. I feel like their status as a Legendary also comes from their role as the Director of the Time Balance Department, and the way Timekeeper SEEMS like a God of Time or something. But they’re not. However, we can’t turn a blind eye to the god-like status and power they do have.
4. Black Pearl Cookie. My god, the amount of times I’ve seen people call Black Pearl a “filler” or “false” Legendary is insane. And the arguments I’ve always seen, or the ones I remember anyway, all boil down to her not being an Elemental. Again, that’s a flimsy argument considering Timekeeper Cookie’s a Legendary without being an Elemental. Black Pearl Cookie at least has some association with an actual element, which is water, being a mermaid and all. Besides, Black Pearl Cookie is literally the subject of a legend in the CRK world, which is what her and Captain Caviar Cookie’s whole update was about. The Black Pearl Islands and Duskgloom Sea, which are like her “kingdom”, can be considered the Bermuda Triangle of the CRK world. We see in the event itself that she’s capable of growing to a gargantuan size and is responsible for sinking countless ships that entered her territory. Something I’ve noticed about the Elementals is that they all have some kind of myth or legend surrounding them, like the City of Wizards being one of the Seven Mysteries of Earthbread (or whatever Wizard Cookie said), the Millennial Tree itself being viewed as a sacred tree of Earthbread, and Frost Queen Cookie being known as the Frost Witch in the myth at Cotton Cookie’s village. Black Pearl Cookie is incredibly powerful and is the legit subject of an existing legend in the CRK world, so why wouldn’t she have the Legendary status?
Idk, it just feels hypocritical when people bash Kingdom’s Legendaries when their arguments can apply to Ovenbreak’s Legendaries as well. But for some reason, Ovenbreak’s Legendaries get passes because they’re the OGs or whatever? You can’t bash Black Pearl Cookie for not being an Elemental Cookie when Timekeeper is right there. And I absolutely love Timekeeper, they’re on of my favorites, but if being an Elemental is the criteria for being a Legendary, then they shouldn’t be a Legendary.
TLDR: Legendary Cookies aren’t solely Elemental Guardians. There are Legendaries who aren’t Elementals. And if Black Pearl Cookie’s a “filler” Legendary for not being an Elemental, then some of Ovenbreak’s are “filler” Legendaries by those standards as well and don’t deserve the rarity.

I totally get your point about the original, and I didn’t mean to criticize the game itself because I know it’s practically ancient, at least in terms of videogame standards. It’s just that I’ve seen so many old fans saying how the original is superior in every way and it pretty much discredits everything added to the remakes. Like I get that they have their nostalgia, but it gets annoying after a while if you genuinely enjoyed the new stuff and you just have a bunch of people complaining about everything. I’ll go on Reddit to see if anyone has theories about the ending or what they thought about the game in general and I’ll run into a good amount of people on every post complaining about something- even if it’s inconsequential- and it’ll feel like they’re doing it just because they’re grumpy it’s not a one to one remake.
Again it’s not meant to be criticism against the original which is like three decades old by now, but rather of the people who just refuse to accept change. I do agree though that people on both sides need to calm down. There’s so much anger for nothing. If you’re going to get mad about something can’t you find something better to take your frustrations out on? Like is all the complaining about time shenanigans and slightly altered plot points really worth all the energy?
I agree, My People (oldies) are way too fucking precious about the original. Devs were in this rock and hard place of "don't change my thing but remake it and make it perfectly." Girl, what? It's not possible. Open your mind. Massage your ego a bit, take the nostalgia glasses off. YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON THIS. I just want to shake them!!
My husband was one of these types and we had HEATED arguments between 2015 and the release of Remake in 2020 about this very subject. I'm happy to say he's 100% reformed. LOL.
And if I sounded touchy, it's only because I'm old and tired. I actually avoid Reddits and tags about the game for the same reason you stated. I'm either going to see new fans confused and misinterpreting things or old assed fans who just won't accept any changes. Remake is a SEQUEL. It is literally Sephiroth trying to RE MAKE the events of the original so he can win. Everything that happens is inconsequential to the original game, so if they want their precious baby intact, it very much still is. And tbqh with you, the new fans are a lot more fun lmfao. Which honestly just makes me sad for my people because I'm like...guys, relax. You of all people should be enjoying this because of your knowledge of the Deep Lore. That's a layer of added interest, not something to get all babyish about.
As far as the original being SUPERIOR, ignore those fools. They're literally robbing themselves of a great experience over an apples and oranges argument.
Actually!! This happened wayyy back in the 90s, too. I got a lot of grief from people for loving the original so much. Back then it was mostly male Nintendo fans that I was surrounded by, so I was that sole bitch straight up defending Cloud's honor on the battlefield (the schoolyard). And then by the time I was in high school, all those guys had played FF7 and loved it.
They'll come around. Just laugh at them for now.

I watched FMA: The Revenge of Scar on FMA Day and am only now talking about it shush leave me alone I was busy okay.
Both before and after watching it, I've come across a fair share of posts sharing their excitement about it, talking about it as something they enjoyed. And there's only one thought that comes to mind when I see them:
....Why?
I'm not trying to rain on anybody's parade or anything; I'm just genuinely confused. If you like these movies, what do you like about them? If you watched the first one and were excited when the sequel was announced, why? I'm just really confused, because I've watched two of these movies now, and...sorry to be blunt, but I thought both were a pile of crap ^^'
Am I just somehow missing everyone who's complaining about the movies? Or am I completely misunderstanding people who are trying to make the best of things? Because right now, I feel like I'm either left out of a huge, fandom-wide joke, or I've gone utterly insane.
I mean, I have sooooo many complaints against these movies, such as:
very fake-looking wigs and costumes (admittedly, they were a bit better in the second one)
Ed and Al were the only ones who could act their way out of a paper bag (I've only seen the sub, so can't speak to dub performances)
the CG looked so fake and ugly
even I noticed the awful greenscreen and masking lines
the transmutations were way too slow; I had horrible flashbacks to The Last Airbender x.x
terrible pacing, so both dramatic and comedic moments fall flat (which makes me want to cry, because Arakawa-san has such impeccable timing for both T^T)
nonsensical switching around of the timeline, creating problems for themselves they then have to scramble to solve in the most haphazard ways (like Ed's motivation to go to the ruins of Xerxes, which makes no sense now because they didn't have Ross go into hiding, so he had no reason to go into the desert; he just kind of...heard the word "ruins" and teleported to the desert)
WHAT ON EARTH WENT WRONG WITH ARMSTRONG WHY DID THEY GIVE HIM A PROSTHETIC SCALP JUST FIND AN ACTOR WHO LOOKS GOOD WITH A SHAVED HEAD GOODNESS GRACIOUS D:
Mei is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too old
the soundtrack is utterly forgettable, which is a huge shame when you compare it to the masterpieces of Michiru Oshima and Akira Senju that came before it
Envy's true form is nowhere near big enough
maybe a minor gripe, but the clapping and snapping for alchemy just...doesn't sound cool like it does in both animes :/ More realistic, I guess, but um...this is fantasy, you can let such things have big dramatic sound effects just because they sound cool....
why on earth does Winry have dark hair????? Why does everybody else have to wear awful wigs but she keeps her natural hair color???? aldkfjsa;kfljsdlfkjslkj;lkjsf
I was bored all the way through both movies and kept checking the time to see how much was left. Let me repeat that: I was BORED. In Full Metal Alchemist!
On the positive side, um.....
Ryosuke Yamada was basically the perfect choice to play Ed. He really nailed the character, and had some great expressions and deliveries that brought out Ed's personality without making it too cartoony and over-the-top (and I'm pretty sure that the problems I have with timing are more a fault of the director, rather than the actor)
I actually really enjoyed the scene where Ed and Al have their little confrontation about Al's soul being fake; it was new material, but 100% in-character, and full of the brotherly love that is at the heart of FMA
Nina is adooooorable :'3
Selim is also possibly the cutest little boy I've ever seen in my life; super hard to imagine him as a Homunculus, but that's kind of the point
props to them for the attention to detail required to recreate some scenes with even the same framing and angles as the manga now if only they'd also managed to recreate the pacing and emotional depth
Uh...yeah, that's all I've got. It really doesn't weigh out the negative side.
Again, if you liked the movies...please, I'm begging you, tell me why! I really want to understand ;_;

Myself and my WIPs
So, first of all, I'm completely new here, so please excuse any stupid mistakes I might make (and please tell me!).
I'm Nipuni. I write and paint a lot in my free time. So first, about my writing:
I have two active WIPs at the moment:
New WIP (has a working title but it's in a conlang so I'm still a little afraid to post it) is a sort of episodic fantasy adventure, maybe. There are a few longer arcs in there which advance the plot significantly (so do the episodic stuff but more slowly).
It follows the story of Lastak, a 15 year old who just moved into the biggest trading hub in the area in search of a job as a mage. She is taken in by a completely whacky group who don't mind the fact that she's a foreigner or incredibly suspicious looking (with her colourless skin and slit-pupiled eyes, and exhausted, hungry look). Hijinks ensue, meanwhile everyone's pasts and the main plot starts moving.
Tumblr media
This is the main cast. From left to right:
Res: He's a genuinely kind, nice person, but he can't stop arguing with Fen for some reason.
Fen: Solves problems by setting them on fire.
Entei: the parrot. Knows pretty much everything. Sarcastic. Might have learned it from:
Wesa: mature, is the oldest in the group. Sort of looks out for everyone. Is also a really capable mage.
Lastak: MC.
In addition to that, there are a lot of other fun characters, such as Seinai (the leader of the group), a forty-something lady who looks like a librarian but is probably one of the strongest mages in the country, Lonli the lightning mage who will not admit she has feelings, Kopen the space-time mage who tries to be nice but reaches his limit often, Lukan who basically invented a way to be as annoying as possible, and many more.
I will start publishing this chapter by chapter somewhere soon.
My other active WIP is Ravens flight. This is a fantasy spy thriller, which follows Estri, Lar, and Dwerezt (15-16) as they get involved in an incident at school which subsequently drags them to a very complex situation, where the first thing they have to do ends up being preventing a war. So, pretty high stakes, I guess? This one is a little difficult to describe without spoilers.
Also there are a lot of fun characters. And fighter jets that don't quite work right.
I've done a lot of worldbuilding for this one, for over a decade now, but the first book is 140k words, so all thoughts of publishing this is sort of on hold for now.
So, those are my main WIPs. in addition to that, I have a few on pause such as the sequel to the phantom in the canopy (which is done but I don't feel like editing it), and a few other mystery-type stories.
You can read the phantom in the canopy:
I will run a free promotion on this soon.
I also draw a lot. I post those on Shutterstock:
And I also created a fiverr if you want floral patterns or something:
Other than these stuff, I'm a PhD student, working on robotics (I sort of teach it too, was working as a lecturer until a month ago).
That's it about me, I guess?

You were SO quick on the draw with the tweet I was genuinely caught by surprise when the first notif came up and it was you lol. Again, thanks so much for the support! I was very much already insane when I started working on the wiki, so no worries there <3
Exactly! I won't expect too much either, but it really does feel as though we're living in the Mine Renaissance (The Mineissance, if you will). Also, you draw INCREDIBLY fast even if you're not going in prepared, so could've fooled me! It really is such an honor to inspire some of your works in some way though, because you're 1000% one of my favorite RGG artists and my favorite Mine artist.
Annnd yeah, that's why I feel bad about bringing the drama to you, though it does feel a little better knowing you and Anon noticed there's a certain pattern to the QRTs. Something I've been thinking about again too is just how much of a missed opportunity it was to kill him off directly after having Kiryu go "As long as you live, […] it's never too late to change."
And then he goes on to live for literally five more minutes? It's true he had a change of heart in that time, but the decision he made was the worst possible decision for everyone. Of course, I hear dying is pretty bad for your health, but there's the Hakuho Clan and the Tojo Clan directly; a lot of people lost their livelihoods and were displaced, and it resulted in the severe financial strain that led to the events of Y4.
But it was more than just that, right? He never had a chance to even attempt to make amends for things like the orphanage fiasco. And I completely agree on how it would've affected Daigo, too. Like, that was his best friend, not even speculating, and not only did he lose him but also nearly every pillar in his life; even Kiryu's stabbing was Mine's fault because of the way he radicalized Hamazaki.
Mine and Kashiwagi "died," Majima checked out mentally, and Kiryu went back to his old life without so much as putting rest to Daigo's worries that Mine wasn't the man he thought he was. So when we finally got that closure for how Daigo reacted to the aftermath of Mine's death in RGGO and Daigo said "u were 😠😢 such a fucking dumbass, man 😡😭" I felt that.
So I think bringing Mine back is not only NOT a disservice to the themes and narrative, I think his death was more of a disservice and bringing him back would be the perfect way to begin to address those mistakes. Because a man has no choice but to change in (at minimum) 15 years.
And if he's working at Survive or the security company or whatever else, well, that's perfect, right? It's his "next life," and this time he is worthy of being with the people he cares about.
It opens a lot of doors for other characters too. Of course I'm 100% in favor of having Ryuji in as takoyaki salesman, but we're also starting to get a lot of "shadow-realmed" characters back, aren't we? Kuze in RGGO, the Joon-gi Han Dynasty, even having the lieutenants and many, many one-off characters in Ishin, not to mention the possibility of Jo and Arakawa in Y8 or even the fact Judgment got a sequel. All these characters that in the past would have been almost guaranteed never to come back in any form.
With Ishin Kiwami, too, actually, that's one more reason it'd be really sweet to have Mine back. Because the specific way in which the casting for the core Miburoshigumi group has changed has made it so all of them have met each other in the present except for Mine. Adachi's met everyone (and is still close with Kashiwagi), Majima's met everyone, Saejima's met everyone, Kiryu's met everyone, Kashiwagi's met everyone, and Zhao's met everyone. But Mine only got to meet Majima, Kiryu, and Kashiwagi. Not totally sure when I'll be done with this piece working off that idea, but…
Tumblr media
But yeah! I'm definitely posting about the Mystery Man later today. Probably a Tumblr-exclusive though, there's no way I can get nuance across on Twitter and I don't want people running with it lol
I get told a lot that I draw pretty fast, so I'm glad I haven't made an exception when it came to the Mine announcement LMAO. And even if I said I won't expect anything major from RGG, it really is nice that Mine's starting to show up more in RGG discussions (lest I forget about merch either. I wish that Mine hoodie wasn't a raffle prize, I want it SO bad....), so even if there's nothing immense for him in the main games it's nice to see RGG acknowledge him again!
And I'm sure I've said it more than necessary, but I still can't say thank you enough for enjoying my work! It's just as much of an honor for you as it is for me for you to enjoy the things I make- definitely helps me feel better whenever I'm doubtful in the work I produce, that's for sure ^^
Back to Mine dying though- that's what I've been saying for months! It's not just an issue with RGG and their tendency to kill off characters despite preaching that people should be able to have second chances, but Mine's 'sacrifice' specifically has SO many ramifications that that follow it due to his status in the Tojo, and the Tojo Clan chairman's most genuine companion.
To go on a mini tangent on Daigo since it's related, I don't have to stress any more that Mine really was his only actual equal in the franchise. It's as you said: Kiryu would 'die' (get stabbed in actuality of course) not long after Mine and would resume life at the orphanage, Kashiwagi's out of commission, Yayoi just seems to be perpetually MIA, and Majima's only really here due to the request of Kiryu (and let's be honest, Majima would much rather be doing his own thing than being stuck in the Tojo). Daigo doesn't have anyone to just be human around- and on top of having to take care of THOUSANDS of men and especially wanting to live up to Kiryu's expectations, it's honestly surprising Daigo didn't commit to dissolving the clan sooner.
The Kirin's Dream RGGO story is one of my favorites because it did show us how Mine's death affected Daigo. Like it really helped heighten that no, Mine wasn't JUST another member of the Tojo Clan to Daigo. It really helped seal the deal that Daigo cared for Mine just as much as Mine did for him- just the amount of doubt Daigo had in himself in being a good friend to him (by word of the bartender to Mine) makes me want to scream. If Mine really were to ever show up in the mainline series again, my only major dream is for him and Daigo to finally share that bottle together- it MUST be crazy good by now if it's been shelved for 15 years... UGH I could talk about them forever (as I'm sure we can all tell at least a year into my postings LMAOO) like I could practically see and hear Daigo on the verge of tears as he realized what Mine did for their bar. Point is, the depth in which Mine's death affected the people around him cannot be understated, and we're definitely allowed to say his 'sacrifice' was more out of what Mine thought everyone wanted than what everyone actually wanted (dare I say Mine might have wanted to avoid the possibility of Daigo hating him, but I'll save that for another insane post).
For Mine to come back, it would be a nice way of Mine getting that 'second chance', even if it is just living quietly as a Survive Bar employee or some other low-key occupation. Again, the Tojo Clan and virtually everyone a part of Mine's old life has gone away and/or moved on, him coming back would do nothing aside from give him a total restart on life, and this time he can 'prove' that he's worthy of the respect of the people around him like he wanted.
In regards to more 'shelved' characters coming back, I really don't have any opposition to it. I already take RGG half seriously (and I'd hope RGG themselves are more inclined to have fun with their games than be super-serious about it), so to see old, dead characters come back is always more funny to me than anything worth getting mad about and I'm happy to see more of it (especially if they aren't brought back in glamorous ways and are just slapped into the setting LMAO)!
And you're totally right about the re-cast decisions made in Ishin! I'd love to see the finished version of this drawing: it looks so sweet so far, so I'd love to see it fully done when you get around to it !

Some thoughts on Friday the 13th 2009
Guess that title will do or so. I was joking with @lovezdarestevez4ever about something and got distracted from not making this. This isn’t really a review. But some points from me on how I feel about the film.
I don’t really hate the 2009 reimagining of the series. And that’s due to a couple of reasons.
1. It’s literally the same as the earlier films. Compared to something like Halloween 2007 or Elm Street 2010, I don’t know. It’s more like the fact it feels like it’s part of the same series despite some things that separate it. It almost feels like a “Legacy” sequel but it’s not.
It’s technically akin to something like Batman 1989 where the origin isn’t a full focal point. But it strangely leads into something. Weird comparison, it’s more like, “Let’s kind of skip the origin and just show it really quick” kind of shit.
2. The idea to use elements from the first four films is actually a fucking genius idea. Because you’re practically blending in what are basically considered possibly the best films or so and combine into one story without having to make more than one film.
Even though I genuinely wouldn’t mind a legitimate remake of the first film. But I keep thinking general audiences just want to see Jason.
3. The portrayal of Jason is still my favorite of all the actors. Even though I like them all. But Derek Mears is the kind of Jason I love. And honestly, I see this as a Jason film mainly because of the number of times he shows up.
4. Trent’s entire character. This may sound strange, but holy crap. Even though he’s not a favorite of mine. But he’s such a cartoonish douchebag that it downright amuses me with his fucking dialogue being so insane. That you’re in shock with how fucking douchey he is because Travis Van Winkle plays him so well. He’s strangely meme material.
WeWatchedAMovie’s review of the film where they talk about Trent, they explain it perfectly in the most humorous way. And there’s a scene and from that review, I hear that Michael Bay himself walked out halfway through the movie because there was...too many tities. I question this, like, did he actually say that somewhere?
5. I will admit, I actually like the score from Steve Jablonsky. Even if I still prefer Harry Manfredini’s scores.
-
Now on to the more negative stuff that...brings the film down.
1. The fact it’s the same as the earlier films...it’s kind of nothing special. Yet it’s special in a way where I don’t feel bothered by it like Halloween 2007 or Elm Street 2010. But the fact it’s kind of...somewhat nothing special brings it down. And this goes into the next thing I want to talk about.
2. The idea to use elements from the first four films is still genius. But the way the writers did it just wasn’t for me. The best way I could describe the film is how my good buddy @lovezdarestevez4ever said in her review of the film.
The film is practically a “CliffNotes” version of Friday the 13th from writers who watched the older films without paying attention to why certain elements worked. And honestly, considering I have a little problem with the writers...I agree. This is her review right here. https://at.tumblr.com/lovezdarestevez4ever/i-watched-friday-the-13th-2009-and-it-was/opxnm29hwwis
Because to me, the elements don’t blend naturally. Or they don’t use these elements in a more meaningful way. You know how like in comic book films they take elements from different stories and try to blend them in the best story possible to adapt? It’s a weird comparison. It’s just I think if Filmento ever did a video on Friday the 13th 2009, and I have thought about this before. He would point out stuff that feels like it wasn’t thought more about or whatever.
I again, think blending in those elements is a cool idea because in a strange way. I could see the first three films as a 277-minute-long film. I actually used my computer’s calculator to look that shit up. Yet this likely counts the beginning and end credits for all three films.
The point being is that considering this was directed by the guy who directed the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. I feel like they could’ve done more with those elements and did something new with them or build upon them. I strangely wished that the write for that remake came back for this instead of the writers from Freddy vs Jason. But that depends on what Scott Kosar would’ve done, or maybe another writer.
I do appreciate the decision to go back to the “Grittier” route of the earlier FT13th films. That was something needed after the last few films.
3. And the characters, and listen, I get a lot of FT13th characters aren’t much to write home about. But I agree with my friend that they are more like...parodies in a sense. Where in the originals, the characters seem more casual despite a lot being service level. And while I think Clay is one of the better protagonists of the series, the other characters are hit and miss. Despite a lot of them get a lot of brutal kills as usual.
There’s also the fact the storyline with Jason and Whitney couldn’t been dealt with so much better. Because that is something I REALLY like, but it’s not built upon more or something.
I should just finish the post. The 2009 reboot is basically a modernized version of part 3, but without the 3D. And you get elements from parts 1, 2, and 4. It seems weird that I use part 3 as an example. Mainly because part 3 feels like the most “Random” or “Disconnected” because NO ONE besides Chris knows of Jason in that film. And they never say his name.

The Mosley Review: Prey
Tumblr media
In the sci fi action and horror genres, there are 3 characters that have crossed into both realms and are the most iconic creations in cinema history. The Alien, the Terminator and the Predator are all 3 defining pillars of the genres and over the years they've all fallen from the thrown of excellence they all once sat upon. They've all had great sequels that have stopped being great after their second entries and have forgotten their roots. The number 1 reason why those 3 worked is not because of the action or technology, but the well crafted and tense story of humans facing an unpredictable and intelligent creature that took away almost every chance of surviving. Taking the franchises back to basics is what has been needed for the longest and finally this film has done it correctly. Predators was a good step in the right direction in expanding the lore, but felt more like a soft refresh and retread of the original. Now comes this film and I have to say that I was genuinely surprised how much I loved this return to form. It features some absolutely brutal action sequences, but they're in service of the story and the characters. It was a welcomed smaller scaled film that featured so many great parallels that are drawn across the lead character the Predator itself and it was handled so gracefully.
Tumblr media
Amber Midthunder was fantastic as Naru and she earned her place in the franchise. I really liked that her determination to become more useful in the tribe and that she was one of the best trackers. She held her own in some impressive fight scenes and I'm so glad her character wasn't overly preaching about feminine strength over the masculinity of men. I do wish she took alot more damage during the final battle of the film to increase the drama of her possibly not surviving. Dakota Beavers was great as her brother Taabe and I really liked the chemistry between them. There were times where he sort of undercooked the amount of tension in a number of scenes. He was brave and quick witted in a great brother and sister rivalry scene that was the last bit of levity in the film. I really liked Michelle Thrush as Naru and Taabe 's mother, Aruka. She brought the emotional connection to the characters to life. The wisdom she imparts on Naru was great and you get the sense that she secretly wants Naru to succeed more than Taabe. Dane DiLiegro was badass as the Predator. He brought back the classic physicality and intimidation level to the new species of the character that has been missing. I loved that he embodied the characters' hunter spirit and strength and I liked a very small bit of comedic brutality he delivered in one particular moment.
Tumblr media
The score by Sarah Schachner was excellent and tense. I loved the subtle builds of emotion in the quieter scenes and the last 30 minutes of the film where the score is the most inventive and fun. Visually the film was stunning to look at and I loved not only the scenes where the Predator was present, but the locations where he and Naru would find themselves in. The action is probably the best I've seen in a long time in a Predator film. Its brutal, cunning, inventive and shot perfectly. The main problems I had were the sometimes bland dialogue that felt too modern. I really wish that the tension was ramped up higher during the climatic fight in the end of the film. Not to compare to the past films, but she really doesn’t take any damage from the Predator at all vs the others that nearly died. I watched the Comanche dubbed version of the film and it elevated it so much more than the English version. For a franchise that possible blew itself up in the previous installment, its about time someone actually did their homework and saved it from the pile of crap it was buried under. Let me know what you thought of the film or my review in the comments below. Thanks for reading!

I finally got to finish this fanfic. This takes place towards the end of a route from through the looking glass sequels, when they prepare to go to war with Levie. This might just be one of the ways in which Dalim's sequel could end. This is just the first part and i think there will be two. I tried to make it more interesting, but if you think it's shitty that's fine. There's one sexy scene, but it's not as detailed as i usually write them
“Is something the matter?” I was startled by Harr’s question as I was looking out the window. I thought I saw something move behind the trees, but maybe it was just my imagination. I turned towards him and saw him looking confused. I told him it was nothing to worry about. At least, I hoped so.
I paid a visit to him to check how the situation was unfolding since the soldiers were too busy to answer any of my questions. From what I heard, Levie, the man who was threatening to destroy the country, was actually persuaded to do that by none other than the former leader of the Magic Tower, Amon. Now that they knew that, they were trying to come up with a plan to draw him out of his hiding place.
“Are you going to help them, Harr?”
“Of course. The lives of thousands of citizens are at stake here, so it goes without saying that I’d help them.”
I should’ve expected no less from such a good man. Sometimes I wondered how the other people believed that lie that he was a dangerous man on the run
“Are you okay?” His question took me by surprise, so I replied: “Why do you ask? Do I not look fine?”
“Uh, it’s not that” his voice sounded a bit awkward. “I heard that you were working as a spy for the Black Army, so ever since you returned from the Magic Tower I’ve been meaning to ask you if everything went fine for you, but I didn’t get the chance. I know the former leader was quite… hard to handle”
“Oh, it all went according to plan thanks to Dalim’s help” I was surprised to find out that he was worried about me since we’re not exactly friends; more like acquaintances.
“Why did you even do that? That was way too risky” he sounded genuinely concerned, so I was at a loss for words. It was true that was the riskiest thing I’ve ever done, but I had a very good reason for doing it.
“I did it to stop that man from destroying the country” I had other reasons too, but I didn’t feel there was any need to say them. “It’s the same reason you’re putting your life at risk now, so you must understand me, don’t you?”
“Well, yeah…” Harr sounded unsure, as if he wanted to say more, but didn’t.
After we talked a bit more, I took my leave. It was already getting dark, so I had to hurry because I had to cross the forest before getting to the city and I didn’t want to walk through it in the dark. I mean, I had a magic crystal to protect myself against any attacker, but still… I wanted to choose the safer option if possible. So after I left Harr’s house in the middle of the Forbidden Forest I began to make my way home through the thick woods. I knew I should’ve left earlier, but time passed so quickly I didn’t realize it got so late. I picked up the pace as I tried not to trip over anything. The only way out of that forest was that narrow path that was hardly used by anyone since that place was dangerous, but not because of the animals. Many people have disappeared in this forest, which was most likely because the magic disciples were kidnapping people for their experiments. However, now that everything came to light and the culprits were caught this place should be safer now. This is what I hoped, but I was still feeling on edge. I could see the sun through the leaves of the trees, but it wouldn’t be long before it disappears behind the horizon and leaving me in the dark with who knows what’s in this forest. I still couldn’t forget what I saw through the window when I was in Harr’s house. I’m pretty sure I saw a shadow move behind the trees, but that was just an animal, wasn’t it? I tried to shake off this uneasiness I felt, but i couldn’t ignore that feeling I had, that I was being watched. I’ve had it ever since I saw that shadowy figure. I put my hand in my bag and grasped the magic crystal I held in there, trying to find some reassurance. Whatever was out there, I had a way to defend myself. There were a few times when I thought I heard something behind me, so I turned, but there wasn’t anything. I tried to calm myself down. Maybe some small animals were moving around.
Then, I heard a clear crack right behind me, as if someone stepped on a twig. I was about to turn around with my magic crystal ready in hand, but whoever that was, he was faster than me. He put his hand around my mouth as he tried to restrain me with his other arm, making me drop the magic crystal in the process. Panic surged through me and as I tried to break free a familiar voice spoke into my ear “It’s okay, princess, it’s me”. I felt relieved when I heard Dalim and he let me go. I turned towards him and scolded him “You scared me. Why did you sneak on me like that?” When they discovered what was actually going on in the Magic Tower, his punishment was to help them repair that institution after their fight with Amon. He was allowed to keep working there under the excuse that he was just carrying out orders and Amon was to blame for everything. So now he was wearing his black cloak with his hood pulled down and smiling sheepishly at me. “Sorry, my lady, I was in the area when I saw you passing by and got worried that some wolf might ensnare you if they see you all alone in this forest, so I came after you to protect you”
Since he had a good enough reason I decided to forgive him and after I picked up the magic crystal I dropped down, we resumed our walk home. Although… he still didn’t say why he creeped up on me like that. He might’ve been just feeling a bit mischievous, but knowing him…  there could also have been another reason behind that, a sinister one. “Why were you here?” I asked, trying to get some info out of him. Usually people come here to engage in some shady business or to visit Harr. Dalim didn’t have to do any shady stuff since he wasn’t working for that man anymore. Or was he?
“I was just trying to find my pet wolf a partner” Dalim answered in a casual tone as if that was something normal people usually did. However that wasn’t going to fool me, so I frowned at him to show my distrust. “Oh, really? He’s still too small for that, y’know?” I asked him, hoping that he’ll give up and tell me the truth already. “Besides which, how’re you going to tame his partner?”
“The same way I tamed him. I’m looking for a wolf small enough that she won’t be able to cause any great harm to anybody”
“But isn’t that too risky? Her mother might be nearby… or other wolves”
“It’s okay, I can make them fall asleep with my magic”
There was something else I wanted to as him but before I could do that he asked: “Did you know wolves mate for life?”
“Really? I thought that was just a myth”
“No, it’s not. But… with some exceptions, wolves have only one partner throughout their life. It’s thought that they’re like that so that they could properly take care of their offsprings. The father would safeguard them, while the mother would give them the affection they needed”
“I didn’t know some animals mate for life. It sounds a bit romantic. It’s nice when someone finds their soulmate” I knew he changed the subject on purpose, but I went along with it nonetheless. I’ll ask about that later, there’s no rush.
We decided to drop by his bar. It was still closed since he usually opened it up late in the evening, so it was just the two of us.
“I think I should take this off” Dalim said gesturing to his cloak
“Wait, could you keep it on?” I stopped him and after a moment I added “That is, if you’re not too hot in it” I didn’t want to force him to do something he didn’t want to.
“Why? Do I look good in it?” he looked and sounded confused, so I explained myself: “You look dangerous and I like it” Since I knew he wouldn’t hurt me this was thrilling in a good way. I gave him sultry smile and once he realized what I meant he smiled back at me and took a seat on a sofa. Then smirked at me and said :”Come into my lap, my lady”.
This was what I wanted too, so I went to him and placed my legs on either side of him. I was facing him, so I could see his delighted grin spreading on his face and his dark grey eyes glinting in the light of the bar. I placed my hand on his cheek and expressed what I felt: “It’s rare to see this color of eyes. They’re my favorite part of your body”
I could feel the heat of his hands through my clothes as his hands traveled over my jeans. “And I quite like your long legs, especially when you wrap them around me. Although… I like every part of you”
I put my arms around his neck and kissed him, relishing in the feeling of his warm hands on my body. This made me want more, so I started grinding against him, making him sigh with pleasure and pull me even closer to him. The passion between us grew more intense by the minute. Suddenly he pushed me down on the sofa. I looked up at him and saw his eyes filled with desire.
“You always make me go crazy with those sensual moves of yours, princess” Dalim sounded quite… lustful. His arms were on either side of me and his body was on top of mine, but he wasn’t putting all of his weight on top of me.
“Then take me” I said in a low voice that was almost a whisper. As soon as I said that he began taking off my clothes one by one while his hands wandered over my body in a way that made my heart pound even faster. We kept touching and moving our bodies against each other like that as the sun sunk over the horizon and the darkness enveloped us both.
After we did those naughty things on the sofa we were outside his bar since I was about to leave. However, I haven’t been able to shake off the feeling that something wasn’t right ever since I saw him in the forest. I thought he was being shady and hiding something, so I tried to get him to open up to me a bit more. “Unless the reward is good enough, I usually don’t do people any favors since I’m such a bad girl, but I’d do anyth-… I mean, almost anything for you for free” I couldn’t do anything for him. I had my limits. “Because I love you this much” I added as I saw his surprised face. There was a moment of silence as he seemed like he was trying to decide on what was the best thing to say. “Well, I need to…” he started, but then he seemed to reconsider his words “…no, nevermind.” He gave me a kiss and added “it makes me happy to hear that, but the only thing I want from you is your love”. After kissing me again, he quickly changed the subject. I was hoping I was just overthinking things and nothing was going on, but I still couldn’t stop worrying.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to escort you home, my lady?”
“Yes, it’s okay, I live close, so I’ll be fine”
He probably would’ve come with me anyway if he didn’t have to prepare to open the bar. As I walked down the street back to my apartment I realized I forgot one of my magic crystals at Dalim’s bar, so I went back. As I was about to knock on his door I heard some voices inside that made me stop.
“So I’m assuming the plan’s going well if you have the time to screw around like this” a slightly angry voice was heard from the bar
The next thing I heard shocked me. “Yes, I gathered some valuable information for my lord by spying on our strongest enemy, Harr” it was Dalim’s voice. “By doing this, I know what our enemies’ next move will be, so the plan I have now should work”
“I’ve been working my ass off just for this, so it better not fail” the other man said
They discussed their plans for a while before the other man left using the magic crystal. I was so stunned by what they said that I didn’t hear Dalim’s footsteps as he approached the door. Before I realized that, the door opened and I came face to face with a startled Dalim. I didn’t know what to do or say so I just stood there. All of a sudden he pulled me inside, shut the door and pinned me to it by putting his arms on either side of me.
“You sure are a bad girl if you eavesdrop on people like that” he didn’t seem exceptionally upset, but… didn’t like this either
“Sorry, I forgot something and came back to get it, when I heard you talking with someone and, uh… I didn’t want to interrupt your conversation” I hoped that this was a good enough reason as he looked at me as he tried to decide if he should forgive me
“It was bad of you to keep it a secret from me” I said in my defense. “why did you do that?” I was his girlfriend, so I thought that he shouldn’t have kept that a secret
“Princess, i… the truth is that I knew you would come help me if you knew that and I don’t want you to get hurt because of me”
“I wish you’d trust me more. I’m strong, y’know?” I knew that this meant that he cared about me, which made me happy, but I still wanted him to depend on me
“I know you’re strong, but I can’t help but worry about you. But now that you know about it… are you really going to help me do something bad? Or stop me?”
“Before I answer that there’s something I need to know. Why are you working for such a man? Couldn’t you just have left him there in the prison?”
“I thought I could get him to work for a good cause, but it turns out I was too optimistic” after he hesitated a bit he spoke again “But maybe you can help me do that?” he asked me wearing a sheepish smile
I was hoping I wouldn’t get to see that man again. Not because I hated him, but because I wanted to stop having such feelings for him. Being with that kind of man wouldn’t be good for me. But if I leave Dalim and join the good guys who knows what his lord would do to him, so my answer was “I’m going to stay by your side no matter what, so i'm going to help you” I wanted to stay with him to protect him even if that meant doing worse things than I did before

Ok ANOTHER multi movie review post, these ones are pretty recent watches, spoilers ahead for uhhhh :
Beau is Afraid: this one was a super great time, feels like it drags a little towards the woods/play part of the film but otherwise loved every second of this. It was sad, anxiety inducing, disturbing but also extremely funny near constantly. I’d say the highlights for me are the entire first 30-40 minutes, and the sex scene towards the end was spectacular. I loved hereditary, thought midsomar was just ok, but if beau is any indication for future ari aster movies, i am excited!!! Would love to watch this again …. One day
Terrifier 2: I had been meaning to watch this one for a while, I thought hallows Eve was forgettable, Terrifier was ok with the gore being pretty cool, and I had heard good things about the sequel. Particularly “someone threw up at the theater” which you don’t hear much these days!! So it was quite unfortunate when I happened to have taken a gram of mushrooms and was outvoted by others when it came to picking the movie but I didn’t want to miss out so…. It was pretty alright? It’s hard to give a 100% accurate assessment because of my state at the time, but this was definitely a step up from the initial Terrifier, and certainly contained the absolute worst and disgusting scenes I have ever watched in my life! I genuinely thought I may maybe possibly throw up or remove myself from the room if it continued, but anyway, I liked what they did with this movie. It was at times quite funny, had a tendency to drag intermittently, very very difficult to watch sometimes but mostly the scalping scene in particular, cool gore effects! I look forward to Terrifier 3 and I would never recommend this movie to anyone
Incantation: ok this one I actually didn’t watch in it’s entirety so take this with a grain of salt as opposed to all my other thoughts which you should take with 500 pounds of salt. Incantation is just an alright movie. I thought they did some pretty cool 4th wall breaking twisty wisties, but unfortunately I am not a fan of found footage horror where some ghost lady is just standing in some corner facing away from the camera and then it’s like AHHHH I’M LUNGING AT YOU EXTREMELY FAST AND LOUDLY AND I LOOK REALLY UGLY if you do like things like that then you’re gonna have a blast….. god speed
Days of Heaven: this one has been on my list for a while ever since I had seen some screen caps from the film which looked absolutely gorgeous. I don’t have too much to say about the movie but I did like it quite a bit. It’s impossible not to be enchanted by the plethora of breathtaking landscape shots taken during golden hour and dusk, I really enjoyed the latter half of the movie and the occasional narration by a 1916 child with a Chicago accent which sounds funny …. But she has many interesting things to say and ways of framing events granted uhhh murder and romance and stuff occurring! Anyway , I think if you like beautiful looking movies, you should watch this…
Eraserhead: eraserhead is about a super charismatic guy with cool hair and many prized possessions on his shelf/dresser who goes to his epic girlfriends parents house to discover they have been blessed with a beautiful baby boy. Cool hair guy loves and cares for this child so much that he has a really long nightmare and then wakes up and becomes the movie title. If you have never seen eraserhead I feel obligated to tell you that most of what I just wrote was a lie, Eraserhead was an ok movie, sometimes I thought there were some very cool things going on, other times I was extremely bored! I plan to watch more David Lunch movies, and I hope to like them more than eraserhead
Spiderman across the spiderverse: sorry to any dorks who may care, but this is not epic masterpiece…. It was pretty great though! I actually have a lot of thoughts about this, many you may have heard already so I’m gonna try and keep this as brief as possible for me. Super super amazing animation, some of the best I’ve ever seen, some very very very minuscule moments where the animation looked REALLY bad though lmao but I guess it could be subjective. Audio mixing was kinda eh, it was funny but not as much as the first. I really liked the spot, disappointing he wasn’t as present in the latter half, and his sudden pivot from basically comic relief to very very serious villain was eh, despite the self aware “villain of the week” jokes. The main conflict with Miguel felt a little forced imo, I do not buy that out of the thousands and thousands of spiderpeople present, that all of them would willingly follow Miguel on this and not at least HALF would immediately jump to Miles side, like that’s genuinely boggling to me! Also, the whole cast of spider people in first movie literally ACKNOWLEDGE Mile’s grief for his uncle and are like “for me it was my uncle ben” etc, so wtf are they now like “uhhh don’t remember that you actually haven’t experienced your important person dying moment!” I have more thoughts on it but i don’t wanna ramble too long, I’ll just say I kinda feel like that whole conflict is a mess that very quickly seems very silly if you think about it for more than 5 seconds. I wish we got some more uhhh Hobbie and he wasn’t so passive with the Miguel conflict…. I liked the twist of sorts at the end andddd that was a lot of criticism but I really liked it, would recommend, and would love to watch it again soon which I can’t say the same about many other movies I watch!
Thus ends movie review…. Next one will only be movies from the 60s-90s……….. yay!!!!!!
