Do you think angels have a problem with demons or are they just different entities în different realms? Could one work with both equally? Or it's not possible to serve the two masters as the scripture says?

I work with entities considered demons and considered angels. I don't believe there is always a clear distinction between the two. They are both spirits and how they are categorised into angel and demon largely depends upon the moral stance and experiences of people belonging to a religion. For example an entity that can cause lust would be deemed evil by a Christian, to me it wouldn't be deemed as much of anything other than maybe capable of producing a fun weekend!

Largely you can see that the predominant religion of an age that takes believers and lands by conquest largely gets to decide what is evil and what gods are evil. That is what happened in my opinion. Many of the Angels, the Saints, and demons mythologies can be traced to more pagan roots. Sometimes these beings are even simply blinds masks for more ancient forces.

In truth, within magic when we speak of demons most people largely refer to the Goetic spirits. Whilst they have been described as demons, they are only demons in the eyes of Christian religion. The spirits and the practices stem from much older settings and it is clear that the hierarchies of Hell, demon kings etc. are all aesthetically chosen by the clergy seeking to work with them during the first magical revival.

Sometimes these spirits are chthonic, relating to the dead and the underworld, sometimes celestial, sometimes relating to the Earth, sometimes bastardised names and images of beings once revered as Gods. All that changes is the decision of the magician and the person writing a grimoire. That is it. In my humble opinion.

My advice has always been start off cordially, get forceful if you need to, treat spirits as you would strangers on the street. I would hope we all don't listen to rumours and gossip and get to know people prior to making a judgement. You wouldn't decide you want someone's help then lock your door, point a gun out of the window and tell them they're dirty and evil. Makes no sense to me.

As for scripture and serving two masters. I don't believe in any of that. I don't believe in a dual-natured reality. I don't believe God with a capital G is a singular personality, but rather a singular source of creation and force. I believe everything else is either inspired or simply the words of men who sought to control the world as they saw fit.

As always, there is no law beyond do what thou wilt.

Pic for attention, but I have questions I desperately need help with!

I’ve been researching for like weeks, and to the point it’s impairing me from being able to practice. I have anxiety about not having the “right” reading materials or enough foundational text for beginning my practice of daemonolatry.

Can anyone recommend what books or old grimoires that you would read for invocations, spells, incantations, what have you? There is so much it’s making my head spin and I’m gonna ‘s p l o d e.

Introduction to Starry-Eyeds!

This is a side-blog, far from my true, main blog. That one is more focused on my main practice and beliefs. This blog here is for my godspousery, Hellenic-Nordic Pagan beliefs and worshipping.

What is Starry-Eyeds?

I am a 25 year old, POC, pagan witch! You can refer to me with she/her or they/them! I hold Theistic Luciferian-Satanist beliefs - no, that doesn't mean I like to sacrifice babies and drink their blood - it means I view Lucifer as the tyrant destroyer, a liberator, and as a compassionate, kind-hearted, loving guide who provides wisdom to mankind. I also view him as being apart of the Infernal Hierarchy and under Satan.

I have worked with the Goetia closely as well as off and on at times for 3 years. I believe that the Goetic SPIRITS were Old Gods and nature spirits who became demonized during the Christianization of their lands. Thus, turning them into 'demons'. I also view a handful of them as fallen angels too.

I worship Frey-Yngvi closely and deeply, I am devoted to him and cherish him very much. He's probably the only God I worship hardcore because we get along really, really well.

I do priestess training for Hermes and many devotional acts for him as well as Apollo. I believe that what we do holds more value in what we give to the Gods.

What is this Tumblr about?

1. Cottagecore Aesthetics - I love cottagecore, I love nature, I love grass, rain, sun, storms, and nature, cottagecore reflects the life I live and dream of. It also acts a soother as I am diagnosed with severe anxiety.

2. Romanticism & Renaissance Art - I am a huge lover of art, I love tending art museums, art galleries, and grew up doing these things as a kid in my art clubs. Vincent Van Gogh is a tragic painter I hold a lot of compassion for and I understand his struggles with depression as I struggle too. Konstantin Makovsky is my favorite more uplifting and positive painter.

3. Godspousery - I am a very open-minded and accepting individual so I implore others that view my profile or come to follow me to remain open minded in tune. Godspousery is an spiritual devotion that has been practiced for centuries and even practiced in the christian faith with nuns devoting themselves to God or marrying Archangels. I am married to Hermes and partnered to Apollo, I have known both of them since I was young. When I came of legal age, they both proposed to me but I accepted Hermes, now at my much more older age, I accepted Apollo's request for a partnership. My godspousery I view as my devotion and commitment to them and the things I believe in and love.

4. Witchcraft - As I stated earlier, I am a pagan-witch. I love doing witchcraft. Its very fun, expressive, liberating, and I can help those who are in need with it. We are all blessed and gifted with power - its up to us to use it as we see fit.

5. PRO-LGBT+/TRANSRIGHTS/NON-BINARY - I am an active believer that all people deserve to be treated fairly and equally. If you do not believe that a transwoman should be considered a woman then its best you leave. If you believe gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, a-sexuals, pansexuals, etc should burn in hell - its best you leave. As I get older and I may not fully understand non-binaries or the new things that come every year, I still support them, because everyone deserves to be treated fairly in the end - regardless of who or what they are or believe in. Humans are still humans. As long as its something positive, healthy, and it makes the person happy, theres no need to shit on someone. Piss off and focus on your own life. We love the gays, the trans, and the non-binaries here.

Hey, Ghost fam! Not sure how many of these symbols/sigils are fleeting/aesthetic choices for some cute merch or if they bear any actual lore significance, but I thought some of you might like to learn about my buddies, up here!

These sigils are for demons, taken from The Lesser Key Of Solomon and they respectively belong to Paimon, Buné, and Beleth.

Paimon is the demon who was featured in Hereditary.  He rides a camel, is super pretty, and very loyal/obedient to Lucifer.  When he first shows up, his voice is such that you, as his summoner, cannot understand what the fuck he’s saying unless you compel him otherwise.  He knows a lot about elements and will give you “good familiars”.

Buné has three heads (traditionally dragon, dog, and griffin), a “high and comely voice” and can help you up your wisdom and charisma stats.

Beleth looks like a cat in the Dictionnaire Infernal drawing and is also associated with music.  He’s a furious little shit and you really have to know what the fuck you’re doing to deal with him.  He’s also the demon in Marianne, which I still haven’t watched, and seems to get associated with cats pretty often.

I really love your demon au a lot, would you be willing to share more about it? Like who's the main cast of characters that show up in it, what are their roles, do you have one big storyline set up for it or is it more like a general au with different little storylines that you envision scenarios for?

Aw thanks! I honestly just drew Arthur as a demon and worked from there, so I don't have too much in place for what exactly the universe is yet. I plan on doing more characters once I get ideas for them, but so far its Francis, Alfred and Arthur.

What I do have down is that everyone is VERY loosely based off a zodiac (Alfred = Capricorn/ Arthur = Aries/ Francis = Sagittarius), but there is no real reflection on astrology in the AU. I just am stealing aesthetics for the most part.

Arthur works in an office that registers people into pandaemonium/hell. His office is omnipresent so he exists at all times in all places, giving everyone a one-on-one meeting with him as he files paperwork. But he's only omnipresent whenever he's in the office. I've also loosely based him off of the Goetic demon, Seere, in everything but appearance.

Alfred is a fortune teller satyr, but is very vague in his readings. He is summon-able, unlike Arthur, and can help with various tasks within his power. I based him off of a Goetic demon that I cannot recall at the moment.

Francis is a wanderer centaur who marches to the beat of his own drum. He's summon-able, but can be quite difficult to work with. Heavily based off of my favorite Goetic demon, Furfur, again in everything but appearance.

Usually they all have no business with each other, but for the sake of AU it's fun to put all these unlikely lads together in the same room.

No one asked, but I have loud opinions on the sexual dimorphism of the Goetic Demons we’ve seen in canon. Obviously, Stolas is the one that we see the most of. Here’s a picture in case you forgot what my fave demon prince looks like:

I picked Stolas’ nude largely because you can see all of him (well, most of him) and I want to compare that to what he looks like in his royal garb:

Stolas is a grey-blue color, with darker greys, blacks, and whites as his predominant coloration. His feathers aren’t all that flashy, except, perhaps that impressive tail of his. Most of his panache comes from his excellent wardrobe and dazzling personality. (See: is he hot or does he just have a British accent?) He’s colored like an owl that does a lot of nighttime/low light camoflogue. You would think that sexual dimorphism then, must lie in the coloration of the Goetias. After all, his wife Stella has two designs:

She’s a brilliant white, with none of a predator’s shading. She’s beautiful and you’d think, “Oh, males are dark and females are white” but the Goetias’ daughter, Octavia disproves that:

She’s colored like her father! She has dark feathers and a pale face, much like barn and sooty owls IRL. Clearly, female Goetic demons and male Goetic demons look different from each other in a different way. Look a the scene riiiiiight before Blitzo crashes the garden party:

The male, like Stella, is white, but like Stolas is much sleeker in design, more like raptors in the real world. The other female is colored more like Stolas, but look how her feathers lay like human hair, like Stella’s and Octavia’s. These long feathers that females sport seem to be the really big difference between male and female Goetic demons. They’re impractical and aesthetic, which then implies that the females might be the ones “peacocking” to attract a suitable mate and the males can be choosier and do the bulk of the hunting/scavenging (or... you know... working) and childrearing, as real birds with a similar evolutionary features do. 

I don’t really know how to wrap up this post except to say that I think birds are weird and neat.

Are there any angel themed tarot decks you would recommend? I’m getting lots of angel related pings lately.

I'm not an angel person and IMHO there aren't that many angel tarot decks to choose from if you aren't into New Age love and light decks (if you are Hay House has a bunch formerly from Doreen Virtue and now with Radleigh Valentine's name attached). One that I was interested in was the Watcher Angels Tarot from Michelle Belanger but I don't know if it's still in print. If you like more of a gothic aesthetic there's the Dark Angels Tarot published by Lo Scarabeo.

There's also the Angel Tarot by Travis McHenry (a companion to his Occult Tarot/Demon-Possessed Tarot) but I haven't used the deck itself I just know it from the Kickstarter campaigns. His sources are (supposedly) some pretty old European grimoires from the 1600s. The gist is he created an angel deck of 72 angels from the Kabbalah to pair with the 72 Goetic demons in his other tarot deck. It sounds like more what you might be looking for. I can hear the "but we shouldn't be using Kabbalah because cultural appropriation" which yes but also the history of Western Occultism is a bit of a minefield when it comes to this subject. It's complicated.

This isn’t a hot take so much as a fact, but tiktok channelers and 99% of people claiming to be possessed by or to channel demons, gods, or whatever they’ve decided is cool for the next 15 minutes are  either deluding themselves or charlatans, but bad charlatans because if I were playing their game I would have made money from it and not some likes. it is not easy to channel spirits, and the likes of goetic demons are nothing you ever want near your spirit without the strong assurance of a black dagger, and that’s without inviting them into your body. I don’t have anything spicier than that, I feel this is just fact.

Scorpios are not the good liars people make them out to be. They’re made out as this super secretive, behind the scenes sign who’s always one step ahead in their grand plot to pull the wool over people’s eyes. In practice what I’ve found is their lies are often very transparent. Maybe it’s my scorpio ascendant or whatever, but at best all you need is one small detail about a scorpios lie to make it fall apart. Anyway, Scorpio as a sign should not pride it’s secrecy and mystery, it is in truth one of it’s weakest traits imo. Wanting privacy is something I can respect, but the Scorpion need for emotional control over every facet of life is the one thing they most have to get over. Fall in order to fly like an eagle, or sting yourself to death. Choose wisely.

I don’t care if you can’t afford books on magic. I don’t care that you have overbearing religious parents, I don’t care if you “don’t have the tools”. I have lived all of those realities and never were they the true limiting factor. Literally any book on magic you will ever need you can find online for free, and I know that because i have most of them. I also know exactly the type of person I used to be, which is a lot of tumblr, who didn’t like looking through scans of books online. I still don’t. Important books I purchased when I moved out and didn’t have to worry about them being found. Copy out details and snippets from the giant old pdf grimoire into a notebook and keep it with other mundane things, whatever you need to do. As someone who frequently had to hide occult stuff when they were younger (and still does atm because I’m stuck at home during this pandemic), there is always somewhere to hide things. pull out the bottom drawer of a desk flush to the floor, they sometimes have a space. Enchant your doors and drawers and cabinets to prevent snooping. Line the door to your room with eggshell powder. And on that note, if you are still at an age or in a position where you live with your parents, you are in no position to be doing huge magical workings and can forego most of the ceremonial tools. I don’t even have many anyway, I usually use a staghorn steak knife or an ornate athame. Every rock, weed, and pinch of dirt around you has virtue. Learn them.

And as a final piece of advice from me, learn playing card divination. I know tarot is pretty and aesthetic but my playing cards provide the answers I need and I can shuffle them faster. Geomancy too. You literally need like, a coin, some dice, or just the ability to make dots in pencil to do it.
