Pork and Mushroom Coconut Curry
Scrumptious pork smothered in sweet and spicy seasoning, served with fragrant jasmine rice and seared mushrooms, simmered in coconut milk and more spices. A delicious recipe inspired by the meat curry Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

"Spice" for the three sentence ask game? - Mint
“When I said I wanted spicy, I didn’t mean it literally!” Warriors sniffs as he pokes at his bowl of curry, eyes streaming.
Wild tilts his head in confusion. “What other kind of spice is there?”
“Relationship spice!”
Hyrule, the only one not struggling with the Goron spice, holds out his bowl for another helping. “I don’t know why you all have a problem, this is great.”
Legend makes a rude gesture. “You have no taste buds. We’ve seen what you can cook.”
“Hey!” Wild slaps at him with the ladle. “Rulie is getting better! I’m teaching him!”
No one points out that those attempts are still inedible by anyone except those two.
“It’s…interesting?” Twilight offers, slowly scraping curry to the side. He’s trying, at least. “I think if there was just a little less spice…or maybe something to cut the heat.”
“Milk!” Wind chants. “I need milk!” He’s doing better than Warriors, but his face is bright red.
Wild is torn between offering and finding out just how red the sailor can get before he explodes like a bomb.
“Thank you for cooking, champion.” Time’s bowl has disappeared and Wild squints. Did he…eat it already? Ah, no, Four is sourly glaring at the extra bowl at his side.
It’s not too spicy, everyone is just a baby. Actually, how’s Sky holding up? He glances at the chosen hero, then stops and stares. If Wind is red, Sky has surpassed him off the color spectrum.
“Jeez, Sky, how much did you eat?”
The hero meets his gaze, face wilting. “One bite.”

I had a dream last night that Tears of the kingdom had a Twitter takeover.
It involved, Link, Zelda, Sidon, Riju, Tulin, Yunobo, and Mineru.
And they were explaining how Zelda’s powers activated allowing them to be outside their time (or something) and until they could figure away out, they were answering questions.
(Link wrote down his answers and Zelda read them, with him grunting for approval)
(Here’s what I remember from my dream)
-Yunobo’s favorite food is Curry Rock roast (basically a rock roast with Goron spice and rice) Link thinks the dish is good. Much to Zelda’s dismay.
-Tulin’s best shot was 1000 meters away bullseye while flying.
-Riju wants to try Noble pursuit. (Which according to Link has a heavy hydro melon taste)
-Zelda and Link Do live together, link offered while the castle was being renovated. Eventually the people started Calling it Zelda’s house as Link would often go out exploring and Zelda was at the house more often. All of the sages have visited the place, Tulin asked if they both live there, why is there only one bed. (It was quickly shifted to the next question.)
-Link’s favorite veggie is pumpkin, and likes all foods that use pumpkin.
-Sidon still thinks about his Sister, and wished she could have been there for his coronation.
-Sidon’s favorite activity to do is waterfall surfing.
-Yunobo is apparently very popular among Gerudo.
-Tulin has a crush on someone in his village but denies it.
-According to Link and Zelda, Riju is a lot like Urbosa, and is most like the champion they are inspired by.
-mineru can actually see, hear and feel when possessing her robot suit, she wanted to add smell but she could never figure it out.
-Mineru said her favorite sage was Zelda, as she felt she was the most friendly with. Her least favorite was the Sage of water. (Something about the sage having some beef)
-Mineru says that Link is a lot like Rauru, willing to risk everything to protect what he loves. (Zelda is apparently very flustered by this comment.
-Link confirms he does remember everything from the past. After beating Calamity Ganon and spending time with Zelda, the other parts of his memory returned. Though he doesn’t dwell on them much.
-Link says his favorite ability with Rauru’s arm is Ultrahand. He likes building.
-Zelda explains how the ancient sheikah tech fell apart after calamity ganon’s defeat. Purah managed to salvage it to make the towers and create the Purah pad, but Link lost the ability to use the runes as the Sheikah slate stopped working.
-Zelda comments that Link has the weirdest sleep schedule. Often going days without sleep if busy, but the moment he isn’t. He can sleep for days in a row, only waking up to eat.
-Each Sage’s favorite monster:
Sidon prefers Moblins, as they are a fair challenge but not smart.
Tulin likes chuchu’s as one shot they burst like a balloon
Riju prefers Lizolfos, they are quick fighters and help keep reflexes sharp.
Yunobo prefers Octoroks, as they fire a snack at you
Mineru prefers Taluses, as they often have ore which can be harvested,
Zelda prefers Bokoblins, as they are easy to deal with and fun to trick.
Link surprises everyone by saying Lynels. Link says they drop the best weapons. And Link wants to train one to be an ally.
-according to Mineru, Ganondorf, before he became the demon king was very beloved by his people. And many considered him attractive. Mineru did not think he was attractive but it may have been because she saw his nastier side.
-According to Mineru, Zelda often talked to Rauru about Link.

Beedle & Link
Ideas:
<Link is hungry and for once has very little to trade.>
<Link finds Beedle out in the wilds a bit over his head.>
<Beedle sees how monsters are getting more daring and asks for some pointers from his legend of a friend.>
<Link is victorious from a tough fight, but not unscathed- and Beetle knows just how to patch him up again.>
<Business is going QUITE well. Beedle comissions a business cart from Link. He knows exactly what he's gotten himself into, and no one will doubt who it came from.>
I'll go ahead and give it a shot! This is for my "I need to do write some vareity to get over writer's block." ask. If you want one, please send one with a fandom I know! Please note I'll only do friendships. **** "Hello! Nice seeing you out here." Beedle called out to his loyal customer. The young man, probably called Link, a lot of people were. (if that is the name of the hero that gets reincarnated, parents do name their kids that in hopes their child will be the next hero. No one ever thinks of the toll that takes on the hero or the parents the next time Ganon comes around. Fortunately, Beedle's parents had named him after a bug.) The man whirled around, sword in his hand, until and dropped it when he saw Beedle. He gave a wave, then kept on walking. Beedle hurried to catch up, his large pack trying to hold him back. Clouds were creeping in front of the sun, and Beedle noticed the wind had started to pick up. The man, Link, must have too, as he pulled some heavy shirt from somewhere and put it on. "Where are you going?" Beedle asked. Link pointed off into the distance towards Hateno. "Excellent, I'm heading there too. Maybe we can tag along?" Right as Beedle said it, a storm broke. Beedle ran towards a nearby shelter someone had set up and forgot about, but Link plowed ahead. "Link!" Beedle called out. The man jumped, it must be his name. He looked at Beedle for a second, his eyes wild and... what was with that hand? "Please, get in the shelter. I can't let my best customer get struck by lightning!" Link, clearly sulking, followed Beedle to it. As Link stood beneath the overhang, looking up at the sky, Beedle set up a fire. "What do you want to eat?" He asked. Link glanced at him. Beedle grinned and pulled out a trusty pan and a metal structure to keep it safe over the fire. "It looks like it will rain for a while, why don't I cook for you." Link shrugged, put his hand... somewhere... and pulled out some prime meat, rice, and Hyrule Herb. Beedle pulled out some Goron Spice and some of the vegetables from Hateno Village. They worked together, quickly and quietly, until soon the curry simmered in Beedle's pan. "You're always so busy." Beedle said as the rain continued to pour down. Link glanced at him from his own spot on the ground. "Whenever I arrive at a stable, you're always coming or going or I hear you were just by. And that's not counting what I hear you do in the cities and towns. Sometimes it feels like half of Hyrule owes their life to you." Link shifted uncomfortably. Using his normal hand instead of the odd colored hand, he made a movement as if to dismiss the conversation. "It's fine by me. I just wonder if you actually like it the way Beedle likes being a merchant." Link shrugged. It almost seemed like he was saying "If not me, then who else?" Who else indeed. "Well, I hope the food is too your liking." Beedle said as it finished simmering. He poured it into the spare bowls he carried and gave the first to Link. Link made a movement to indicate he was grateful, then dug in. Beedle followed. It was delicious. Food always tasted better with others, and outdoors, but with the addition of the food Link had brought, it made it a real feast. "Do you know why I travel, Link?" Link looked up, face partly covered with sauce, and shook his head. "It's so I can meet so many interesting people in Hyrule. And I'm very glad you are one of them, and my favorite customer." Link grinned, gave a thumbs up, and they both went back to eating as the storm began to fade away.

Love in the Age of Calamity - Chapter Eight: Revelations
Tumblr media
"Good morning!" she chirrups.
"Good morning," Link responds with amusement. "You are in good spirits today."
"That is because, Hero, we are departing this stuffy castle for the day," Zelda informs him. "We are going to Irch Plain to have a picnic lunch and work on some field study. I have already ordered our horses to be made ready."
Link perks up when she mentions a picnic. "What's for lunch?" he asks, reaching for the bag on her shoulder. Zelda bats his hand away with a laugh.
"Didn't you have breakfast?" she inquires.
"I did," he replies slowly.
"Well, you will have to wait until lunch to find out," she sweetly replies.
It is a bright, sunny day, with only a few clouds drifting across the blue sky. The horses trot at a slow, steady pace, and Link observes that Zelda's handling of her steed, Storm, is improving. When they reach Irch Plain, Zelda chooses an idyllic spot on a grassy knoll past the Royal Tech Lab. It rests between two ponds and affords a pleasant view of the northwest side of the castle and Salari Hill to the west. While she spreads a blanket and sets out the lunch, Link takes care of Storm and Epona. He ties the horses to a nearby tree where they can graze in the shade and gives them a swift carrot from his pack.
He removes his shield and sword and lays them on the ground next to the blanket, taking a seat within quick and easy reach of the weapons. Zelda sits next to him and places two small baskets in front of them.
"Honeyed apples for you and fruitcake for me!" she announces, lifting the lids off the baskets with a flourish.
"Where's the real food?" Link asks, dismayed. She can't possibly think that dessert counts as lunch.
"This is real food!" she retorts, sounding highly put out.
"This is dessert," Link counters.
"I like sweets for lunch," Zelda pouts, and Link narrows his eyes at her suspiciously. She has quickly learned he usually can't resist her when she purses her lips in a very pretty moue.
"I like sweets, too," he agrees, and she smiles. "For dessert," he finishes with a smirk.
"Fine," she huffs, reaching into the satchel to pull out a covered bowl. She sets it between them and looks at Link expectantly. "Go on," she says, indicating he should remove the lid.
As soon as he opens the container, the aroma of curry fills the air. "Seafood curry?" he looks up to find Zelda's sparkling emerald eyes watching him.
"Aryll told me it is your favorite," she avidly informs him.
"It is," he assures her. "You wrote to Aryll?"
"I did," Zelda affirms, her playful smile growing. "She was most willing to share far more information than I asked for."
Feeling his ears turning red, Link rubs the back of his neck nervously. He can imagine whatever Aryll shared would be the most embarrassing tales she could think of. Zelda's laughter rings in the air like a breeze through windchimes.
"Oh, you need not worry," Zelda giggles. "Most of what Aryll disclosed was very sweet. For example, when she was two, you would climb the apple trees in your family orchard to pick the precise apple she wanted. How darling you must have been when you were six."
His mortification grew; Link vowed the next time he saw his impish sister, he would be sure to find some way to pay her back. Zelda leans over and gives him a kiss on his nose. "You are adorable when you blush," she says, handing him a pair of chopsticks.
"Thanks?" He accepts the utensils from her and picks up the bowl. The food smells delicious, and his stomach rumbles, but he waits for Zelda to retrieve another bowl for herself before he starts to eat. The Goron spice seasoning the savory curry sauce adds the right amount of heat to contrast with the rice and fish.
"This is delicious," he enthuses. Link eats another portion of the curry. The food reminds him of who he was, and wishes he could still be. But, those melancholy thoughts have no place now, sharing a repast with the most beautiful girl in Hyrule.

the great hyrule cookoff!
From this post
Link wheels his oven down the ramp and sets it toward the front of his stall. He loads the bottom with wood before taking stock of the rest of the competition area. Revali is puttering with his deep fryer. The sound of a door opening draws Link’s attention to the third wagon in the square. He meets the eyes of the final contestant and she gives him a glare and a frown so intense he wonders for a moment if they dated at some point. She turns on her heel and storms back into her wagon, slamming the door after her.
“What was that about?” Revali is suddenly at his side.
“I have no idea. Do you know her?”
The Rito shakes his head. “The board says her name is Moza. Never heard of her. Apparently her cuisine was Goron, though.”
Link’s eyebrows rise. The Gorons were noted for rock roast. And spice. Had she made a gravel curry?
“The final round will work like this. You will be given a mystery ingredient and you then have an hour to produce a finished dish. There will be an audience including the Princess of Hyrule. At the end of the hour, the princess will taste each of your dishes and choose a winner. It is that simple.
Your ingredient will be randomly chosen from the list you’ve been given. Are there any questions?”
“I have a question.” Of course Revali has a question. “It says monster parts on here. What does that mean?”
Link searched the list in his hands. He had only scanned the top. Monster parts?
Potential ingredients include: Durian, voltfruit, hearty truffle, spicy pepper, mighty banana, pumpkin and monster parts
He read it again.
“It means that if that ingredient is selected, the entrant will be given an assortment of entrails from a monster.”
“You can’t eat those.” Revali sputters.
The official is silent, with a face of stone. “They would not be a potential ingredient if they could not be made edible. Maybe you should hope for something easier. Does anyone else have a question?”

The Cooking Pot- Small zine-type publication in the Hateno Area slowly gaining popularity. Unfortunately, the author shared WAY to much information...
For large family gatherings back in Hateno Village, my mother used to break out our expensive, authentic Goron Spice and used it to make the most wonderful curry. Everyone used to go absolutely crazy for it, and we’d always have to make multiple servings just so we wouldn’t run out! This curry is also perfect for cold weather and sick days, because it packs a punch that will both warm your insides and clear out your nose! Below I’ve written down the recipe so that you can make this for yourself, in the same format that my great grandmother wrote it down in. Just remember that you have to always use the freshest ingredients, and...
...check your spice level constantly! We have had many the occasion where people partook and then had to drink a bucket of milk! Most of the skills I discuss here should be remembered from previous editions of The Cooking Pot, so double-check those copies if you get confused! For new readers, I have included the skills below! I remember when Grandpappy Ragoll taught me how to fish, and harvest the meet for parts!
It all started when Grandpappy and I woke up in the dark hours before dawn, the beautiful stars and constellations leading us to the edge of Hateno Village and into the Hateno Bay.
"Lurelin village may have made fishing their trade, but nothing beats catching your own, Jalphie. Nothing."
He changed my whole world that day as we...
Recipe for Seafood Curry-Hateno Style
1 Large armored porgy 1 cup of hylian rice 3 teaspoons of Goron Spice(AUTHENTIC!) 1 cup of diced tomatos 1/2 cup of Hateno Soft Cheese 1/3 cup of milk 2 cups of water 1 large crab 2 river snails 1 small fortified pumpkin 3 thinly sliced endura carrots 1 sunshroom, thinly sliced. To Taste: Hylian Herb, rock salt, blue nightshade, pepper, saffron(breed of your choice, we prefer electric), and Mighty Thistle. Step 1: To begin, prepare all the ingredients. Pro-tip: Have them set out so you don't have to stop! Step 2: place crab(uncooked), and the skeleton of the armored porgy in the pot with the chosen herbs, barring Hylian Herb- this works best an an aromatic, and water! Step 3: Cook this untill the water has evaporated some, and the liquid more closely resembles soup stock. Then remove crab and fishbones, and add vegtables, tomatos, mushrooms, and the goron spice. Step 4: While these cook, take the pumpkin and bake it for around an hour. Step 5: Clear out the pumpkin of the meat, and add to the soup pot. Stir and mix thoroughly. Step 6: Add crab meat(not shell!) into the curry pot to combine with the other supplies. Remove the river snail shells. Add cheese, and melt. Step 7: Move stew into pumpkin to serve, and enjoy!

So it is canon rezek can eat fish I was wondering due to it doesn’t really like the smell of meat
I can just seen totk ashen with tulin only for ashen (who is now at that age equivalent to eat foods warm/hot just have a mild lactose intolerant affect to it and spice) to eat some spicy made with extra spicy pepper goron mix curry which was actually tulin’s and tulin grabbing a jar of milk and bread for ashen as it flew around the steaming from the mouth due to the spice screaming: hothothothot! Then landing back at tulin who is screaming: quick drink and eat this! And gives ashen the bread and milk and him feeling bad as he accidentally took ashen’s curry which had cheese on it and really no spice, but his had cheese too so they got mixed up.
Ashen then suffered the dreaded from eating too spicy food hiccup burps for a hour but other wise was fine after drinking 3 more jars of milk and a other small loaf of bread.
Oh my god that's such an adorable prompt I love the Ashen/Tulin interactions y'all are sending me :)
But yes I guess it's "canon" that Rezek can eat fish. To it, it's different enough from the smell of meat since its ick towards meat revolves around more mammal-based meat

I went back to the school and Symin was giving a new lesson on economics. He was asking the children what he would get in mixing Goron spice with Hylian Rice and raw meat. They already knew that the rice and spice would be a curry, so adding meat would be meat curry. That was correct. Symin then asked what he would get with the spice, rice, and monster extract. The kids didn’t believe that anything with monster stuff would be edible, but Symin said that it would make monster curry. The kids still didn’t believe it so he thought that they wouldn’t believe him unless it was in front of them. He did have the ingredients but not Monster extract. It could be found in Tarrey Town in Akkala. Side Quests – Teach Me a Lesson II. I guess I’ll have to go to Tarrey Town to get some monster extract at some point.
