Cassie did a talk. From the 9 minute mark, she gets asked about it, but obviously can't say it's Matthew outright, because spoilers. She said she'll either do ten short stories or four novellas. Tho we know that Jace, Clary, Simon and Izzy don't want to get married while the conflict with the people in Idris (the fact that they can't go to Idris anymore) it's still going on.

They want to wait till things are in a better place for the Shadowhunter world to celebrate without the conflict eclipsing their day and happiness.

So, most of the fandom thinks that Clace's wedding scene it's going to be at the end of the TWP (if they both survive the massacre of course 🥲), possibily in a double wedding with Sizzy! 💕

And even tho I want to throw things across the room because I feel like Jace and Clary have gone through enough for Cassie to still not let them get married even after like 13 books (TMI, TFTSA, TDA, GOTSM, TEC), think about how beautiful it would be that the couple that started it all, who's meeting scene was the first scene of the books... gets married at the very last scene of the Shadowhunter Chronicles ✨♥️

And lets not forget that in every TSC trilogy/saga there's at least one wedding. So, I think that there's a strong chance that their wedding it's going to be in TWP :) (or at least that's what I tell myself to keep my hopes up because if Jace and/or Clary dies in TWP I’m going to cry every day for the rest of my life 🫠)

i think you will be happy to know that cordelia finding out the reason the "nice" characters are treating alastair horribly doesn't impact their relationship. for once something about that crap felt authentic to me - cordelia knows alastair better than any of this people so obviously she isn't horrified to find out about what he did, and she does feel frustrated at his behavior but not more than she already did before. thank freaking god

my sibling and i have a very complicated relationship full of tension and all, but there's no freaking way i would give a damn if i found out he spread rumors about people's parents at school in the past, sorry, this is not realistic and not how siblings work

i'm truly enjoying reading about the carstairs family, my personal opinion is that they are by far the best thing in this series, and i love how we can see how much alastair care for cordelia without the writing trying to shove that down our throats. but that has a reason. alastair is one of Those Characters that you can freely like or dislike without being "wrong" - the book isn't really trying to manipulate you to do either

the downside: funny how it took MONTHS for cordelia to fully require to know why is alastair being so mistreated. it has just been happening since the end of the previous book because of fucking course the golden characters have all the right to treat someone like shit unprovoked for a past beef in the most cringeworthy "he was mean to us back then, now we can gang up to be mean to him back" energy

how all that stuff ended up playing into alastair's romance side plot requires a very long rant i can't type now. but i just know you would have opinions on all of this

Oh, that does make me happy. Somewhat. If Cordelia was written immediately changing her affections over some guys he doesn’t know that well, I would’ve probably just ended things there. I kept hoping for that authenticity, and I am glad that there’s even a tiny bit of that. I don’t think there is much my brother could do—and obviously I am not talking about extremes—that would in any way change our relationship. Clare’s characters loyalties are flimsy things, nonexistent sometimes if we consider Alec and Isabelle, when it comes to the Golden Characters and being on their side, so this does ease my mind a bit.

Alastair is reminiscent of Gabriel and Jessamine. Gabriel was written doing bad stuff and being antagonistic, while Matthew is reminiscent of the Good Guys being treated “poorly.” Like I’ve said previously, Gabriel either wasn’t surrounded by the manipulative elements in the narrative versus Will. I’ve read a bit of their (Alastair, Matthew, James) days in the Academy, and like you bring up in you other message that I haven’t answered yet lol, his character has that nuance unlike the main heroes. These are the sort of themes that are consistent from one series to another, because it is often characters like him that end up shining the most to me.

I actually had to stop reading GoTSM because I started to have too many thoughts and negative feelings about the whole thing, the whole ganging up on Alastair aspect of things, and I figured I should try and keep the blog somewhat consistent as to the progression, but I think I'm just going to read Chain of Iron next and embrace the absolute mess that this blog has become.

Thule Jace/Kit & Annabel/Livvy

Now that Cassie has confirmed Kit has parallels with Ash and Janus with Jem *moves on from what's known*

I want to point out other parallels

Such as Annabel and Livvy:

They're both Blackthorns with green-blue eyes with long brown hair

They were each others mirror image

More accurately Livvy looked just like the girl Annabel once was brave, beautiful, unbroken, untortured, perfect and loved much more than Annabel was by her family.

But Annabel killed her even though she didn't planned to do it, she lost control(being brought back from dead causes permenant demage) and killed that innocent girl

Now let's talk about Janus and Kit

They're both Herondales with golden hair and gorgeous looks with only eyes in different color

Considering they're (Jace and Kit) like seventh cousin even this much looking alike was weird for me

Kit is also Thule Jace's mirror image only a few years younger(just like Livvy) but better in the heart, better in the soul because Kit is loved *yes I have been waiting my whole life to type those three words*

Thule Jace promised himself to kill Kit without even knowing who he was, only a rumor about a descendant of someone called the first heir

In a way Janus and Annabel couldn't stand to see these perfectly fine counterparts of themselves living life's they should have.

Also Janus has the malicious motive and planning Annabel didn't...

I am pretty sure at the moment someone figures out who Kit is Janus will be the one to go to kill him (especially if Kieran learns about Ash's return which may result with Janus&Ash moving to mortal world because Janus wouldn't want to go against King of Unseelie before Ash is ready).

But to protect Ash in his twisted sense of care Janus would want to kill Kit without anyone else coming for him... Even though Kit has many powers they're not always there ready to serve so Janus could actually get the opportunity to kill Kit(being older, larger, trained for longer time)

I can totally see this as the point Ash steps in to stop his uncle to chose to do the right thing, this time not knowing if it serves to his goals(unlike the time he helped Emma with Thule Sebastian) because there is something about this boy he feels. Because Kit's the only person in the world who can understand him...
