(Geats 20 spoilers)
speaking of being hilariously bad at predictions...
I was SO convinced that the twist was going to be that nobody was the Desistar, it was all just to psych the players out, that actually having it turn out to be, like, a real thing completely blindsided me. you got me again, children's show!

Who’s next???
VELMA!
Lesbian.
No literally I think that any adaptation where she’s dating a man it’s odd.
I just can’t see her with a man.
She and Shaggy have a best friend pact where if they can’t find a partner by the time they’re like 40 they’ll both get married.
She definitely had a crush on Daphne at some point (or still does in some versions). I’m versions where they don’t meet until they’re teens she misjudged Daphne and thought she was one of those spoilt and rude rich girls but once she gets to know her and becomes her friend she likes her and then develops feelings it’s a gradual thing. In versions where they met as kids the crush happens quicker because Velma knew her true side sooner.
Velma finds stereotypes absolutely ridiculous. She acts the way she likes.
She was definitely in a relationship with Marcie (Hot Dog Water) in Mystery Incorporated. Rivals to lovers stuff.
I think the whole gang are Queer tbh. Velma is a lesbian, Shaggy is gay, Daphne is Bisexual but maybe with a small preference towards men and Fred is Pansexual.
The first people she came out to was the gang. They were super supportive and I 100% believe that because Fred is a himbo he bought her a bunch of pride stuff. She thinks it’s sweet though because even if it’s a bit excessive it’s coming from a good place and it shows that he supports her.
She and Shaggy are mlm/wlm solidarity.

i hate the argument people make about adaptations where they're like oh they had to cut things out and change them those are the limitations of the medium! have we ever considered. perhaps. and just stay with me here. that sometimes the medium they were originally created in is the correct medium to tell that particular story. and it does not NEED retelling in some other format? can't books just be books and stage musicals just be stage musicals and animations just be animations

I'm absolutely LOVING how the animatronics looks exactly like they do in the game. I think that's so cool actually.

HBO max is the worst company to make television for these days. However if they want to give me funding for this little project I've got called Prey Animal,

“When you're lost in the darkness, look for the light.” - Fireflies slogan • I’m not ready for the #hbo #lastofus tv series to end next week 🥲 They have done this adaptation so amazingly - although personally I felt there was couple clicker scenes I would have loved to see! It least if allows those to pick up the game who haven’t yet to still, and I will be picking up the game again to relive this story! • I hadn’t played the second part, when it was released I was pregnant in the pandemic that didn’t seem wise for my mental health to pick it up at the time 😅 but looking forward to playing through it soon! • • #lastofus #leftbehind #videogame #adaptions #fanart #gritty #dark #light #fireflies #apocalypse #cordyceps #illustration #procreate #edit #artist #creative #whiteinks #darkgrounds #dark #darkart #darkaesthetic #aesthetics #aesthetic (at Wimbledon, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpkTCRuIj2I/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

so i just binged the sandman series on Netflix (i read most of the comics a long time ago) and while i haven't really sorted out my feelings about despair i have sorted out how i feel about the fact that she’s missing from all the promotional material while desire isn’t, spoiler alert i don't love it
also i kinda hate how she’s the only one of the endless that looks normal like
SPOILER WARNING FOR COMICS
when destruction shows up i really like how with his resentment of his realm. he’s the only of the endless that doesn’t look ethereal other than pre-delirium delight.  Like i think it makes sense that the two of the endless most in conflict with their domains look at odds with their ethereal nature, but in this adaptation despair is a regular non-skinny woman other than her actions, like even with death not being dramatic like Morpheus or desire, she still wears mostly black and rocker clothing and wears her ankh.  like while idk how i feel about original design i really don’t like that in the Netflix adaptation the only thing that speaks to her being despair is her weight.  In the comics at least she had long uncut and perhaps oily hair, and wore no clothing, in general i don't really like that a hallmark of despair is being fat but i really don't like that in the Netflix version it seems that that is the only indicator of her despair other than acting choices (also the actress did a great job! just give her some makeup, a wig or at least an interesting costume)

As a kid I was very anxious I remember specifically one time reading that Fireheart volunteered for a patrol that wasn’t assigned to him and I desperately wanted him not to go. I checked out from reading for a few minutes at my desk and sat there visualizing that he stayed in his den & nothing bad happened instead to any of the kittycats

Beloved Oz mutual I need to ask what’s your favorite Oz adaptation? You can tell a lot about a person based on their favorite Oz adaptation. I haven’t decided what yet but you can definitely tell SOMETHING
oooooh this is a good question...... i've always been mainly a fan of the baum books. the 1939 film is classic (definitely a comfort movie), i like The Wiz and Wicked, but my absolute favorites are probably Daisy Finch Maguire's Yellow Brick Ramble, the Shanower/Young graphic novelizations, and the Oz No Mahoutsukai 1986 anime :)

Modern Adaptation: An Xmas Carol
Charles Dickens wrote the thing at a time when the greed of the ruling class needed to be shown - point blank.
We keep remaking the classic in the same perspective and with the same "nuance" as if the book was written to be subtle.
But it was a punch in the face to every rich business owner of the time.
You ever get tired of the same retelling of an Xmas Carol?
Me too. Yawwwwn. Who cares about some bitter old dude from the 1800s? Scrooge had nothing. Dude slept in a cold ass home with no security.
Now, as a Billionaire, I sleep in a home fit for the King of business I am! I've worked my whole life for what I've got. Ground up and I can afford everything I want.
Whoever said money can't buy happiness - never bought their own theme park.
