Some canon facts are just insane

Nijimura started basketball in his 1st year of middle school, by his 2nd year he was considered the best power forward in middle school, even better than Aomine who played basketball since forever, that's just insane

Of course Aomine abilities bloomed soon after that and he took his place, he practiced more, has more potential and more passion for the game, but it's still incredible how good Nijimura is/was

The Nijimura - Himuro - Haizaki trio isn't at Gom level, but they are above Uncrowned King's level and that's a little mind blowing to think about

1- Kise is capable of humility

2- We are in a shonen manga so of course the first opponent is the weakest among the GoM.

3- "I was the weakest of the group" This is the reason why Kise managed to reach their level, he never gave up, he never doubted that he would be able to do it one day.

This is the reason why he took Haizaki's place and why he was able to surpass him later on. Because Haizaki gave up on the idea that he could ever beat the Miracles as soon as he realized he couldn't steal their abilities. While Kise kept trying until he could copy them.

At this point in the story, Haizaki is still much stronger than Kise.

Technically Aomine is the only one who really picked on Kise from time to time (and it was never in a bullying kinda way). Midorima's natural standoffish way and Murasakibara's "i don't really care" attitude feels like picking on for someone like Kise who is used to people being extra nice to him. And Kuroko, Akashi and Nijimura (who were in charge of Kise, as his captains and supervisor) are all really blunt, they tell you clearly what you did wrong so you don't make the same mistake again. Once again it feels like getting picked on by Kise who isn't used to it (making mistakes or being corrected).

Our golden boy is really dramatic and has strong middle child energy.

Reference Sheets - Middle School and High School ages of the GoM

I made this for myself a while ago but I thought it could be useful or just interesting for someone else so why not post it.

Yes Akashi and Kuroko were 13 when they had their terrible confrontations with Aomine and Murasakibara on that fateful day…

The exact date of the Winter Cup is not explicitly stated, but it happens around the end of December, so Akashi's birthday may be a few days before, during, or after. So he is either 15 years old or barely 16 years old at the time. Kuroko is still 15.

The Interhigh takes place in August, so Aomine might still be 15 at that point.

Kise for ship tier? :)

I just realized I never talked about how much I love KiseKasa on here, how is that possible, it's one of my favorite ships. They are simply perfect for each other. I'll have to expand on this point at some, but other people have probably already expressed it in a better way than I can.

AkaKise is so good too, but i've already talked about it in my Akashi ship tier list.

I think most of the reason i ship Murasakibara and Kise is because I spend a lot of time thinking about the GoM during Teiko days, and Kise and Murasakibara used to be in the same class.

Think about that for a second, all the group projects they probably did together, all the times Murasakibara had to make sure Kise would get good enough grades to join summer camps and play during games. On the days the GoM didn't eat together the two of them would probably eat together, why wouldn't they they are in the same class and don't seems to have friends outside of the club anyway. Staying in the classroom after class because Murasakibara has to make sure Kise studies (because Akashi asked him to). The two of them cooking together during home economics classes.

Kise trying to stay super fit and avoid any sweets because of his job and Murasakibara helping him understand that it's okay to treat himself every once in a while, even if he's a model. Wow, I think I might ship these more than I thought.

For Midorima and Kise, i just have to take one look at canon, they just spend so much time together even after the whole GoM Breakup™. They have so many interactions, they always check on each other, even during their own matches they take a few seconds to exchange a few words. And their personalities match well, i think they would make a perfectly balanced and healthy couple.

I already talk about Kise and Momoi in her own tier, but basically i mostly see them as perfect besties.

For Aomine, Kise definitely had a crush on him at some point, but more in a 'awestuck' kind of way ? I don't believe any of the Teiko members dated anyone in middle school (besides Kise with anonymous girls), so Kise's crush on Aomine never led to anything. I think in another situation or in an Au they might work but in the KnB world I don't see that happening.

Kise and Haizaki as a ship is just so funny, which is a good enough reason for me. The way they called each other 'Shugo-kun' and 'Ryota-kun' ? 100/100, it's perfect. They are so similar, especially in the manga where Kise is a little different and meaner. Even their hair match in a way, grey and yellow are basically a less fancy version of gold and silver. That would definitely be an unhealthy relationship though.
