𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧?

A widow, still wearing her mourning dress, a black veil covering her face. She wanders slowly amongst the dust and cobwebs of the large manor, leaving footprints behind in the thick layers of dust. The halls are quiet. Candles have long since burned out.

Her husband died of mysterious causes. He left only the manor to her name. He left the expansive jewels, and furs to his mistress. As well as the fortune.

Weeks after the reading of the will, the mistress too, dies under mysterious circumstances.

The widow continues down the hall, and if you listen closely, you can still hear the widow's footsteps. If one looks with a watchful eye, footsteps can be followed. And should one look with a discerning eye, you may catch a glimpse of diamond jewels glimmering against the darkness.

What do you do if you find an injured bat on the ground? Don't touch it! Their cuteness doesn't exclude them from transferable diseases. It may be stunned from hitting a window so wait a little to see if it moves, and if you think it's really injured, it's time to call some professionals!

There's so many bat rehabilitation and refuges around. You can find one local to you on a map compiled by @batworldsanctuary.

October's Patreon Patterns 🩸🎃👻

I wanted to capture the duality of the Halloween season - the cute little pumpkins & ghosties, and the bloody, scary & horny horror.

I first read Clive Barker's The Thief of Always & Abarat books as a kid, so picking up Coldheart Canyon as a teen was extra shocking. Barker is an expert in grounding fanatical horror to the real world, which imo makes it much scarier. I picked up his Books of Blood for the first time this year, and the minute I read the opening I knew I had to stitch it!

On the other hand, adorable seasonal sugar cookies! I have a lot of food allergies, so it's rare that I can actually have a premade cookie dough. These are one of the only ones I can have, which makes them extra special to me. I'm so heartbroken that they're sold out literally everywhere, but at least I could "make" some myself. They should also fit on the round wooden cross stitch blanks to use as ornaments too!
