1. How many works do you have on A03?

48 (60 on fanfic)

2. What's your total A03 word count?

I've no idea, i messed up on my calculator and dont have the pactience to go back over it

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Currently Stingray and Thunderbirds. and worst witch. its always worst witch

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Jabberjay-ded (128 vs 4 comments lol) Little Wizard, The Broken Hand mirror, Mildred's Monstrous Misadventures, (ah yeah witching kind!) and I saw Seven Idiots.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Fanfic.net dosnt let me reply any more??? but I do try to. even if its just a key smash and a thankyou. or if its an emoji spam i emoji spam back. I love those.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Hm. The closest ones I could think of are Death's acquaintance and In grief we bake. I don't tend to do agnsty endings. even the sad ish ones are kind hopeful.

EDIT: JABBERYJAYED! I forgot!? litreally a hunger games fic ends up in devistation?? fool.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I couldnt narrow it down so top 2: I saw 7 Dogs and Christmas Cards

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Onlya few times in the past. two of those times were Worst witch ship trolls and just deleted them. one was my fault, i got uppity with an 'UPDATE NOW' comment and user just went a few my other fics being rude. againn deleted.

9. Do you write smut?

write yes. post no. (not yet-!) :o

10. Do you write crossovers?

yes. Ive have a good half a dozen under my belt and a couple in the works.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

angain no not that i know of.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No but I would count @teapotteringabout @kiwi-collideoscope and Princess Sammi as , the amount i've bouced ideas about with them.

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

Mary Poppins and Bert. the OTP before i knew what the internet was.

15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Froot, SEASICK and Cherrytree Carol. plus a bunch of WW ones. I keep picking them up but i feel like they might be left on the shelf a little longer.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue and character voices. I also love mixing humour in too, even just a little sprinkle into sad bits and I think i do that quite well.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Plot bunnies. and not finishing current WIPS. Ive made a mountain of improvement on that frount but yeah posting chapters before before the fics even 50% done. To the point ive sequeals to fics that are only two lines of an epic.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Massivise kudos who can do that. not my forte. The closest I've come is writing the odd burst of ASL and BSL for Unshackled and Chest Compressions, and a pinch of welsh for Lucretia’s Baller but as yet Hypothetical Birthday Cake.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Corpse Bride (2005). a sad little fic for a le sad victor van dort.

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Ever? Probably have to Mildred's Montorus adventures. but Your mother and Mine's got a special place in my heartjust cos family and the catharisis .

Current favorite song: i'm a bit between tastes right now. I have a 30 hour playlist that i had to play all the way through so it wouldn't unfairly weight any of the songs to play later (that's how Anthony's Song (Movin' Out) became my top song of 2020 and I don't even like that song much). BUT i'm a little over obsessed with this 10 second video of Jeanna de Waal singing All Coming Back to Me Now.

Favorite fic: oh no brainer it's "A Clock With No Hands" by heathtrash! An exquisite piece of writing to say the least.

I was tagged by @gabolange, @pellucidthings, @twtd11 and @cliotheproclaimer to list my five favourite pieces of my own content, so here goes!

Her Heart was a Secret Garden and the Walls Were Very High (The Worst Witch, Hecate Hardbroom/Pippa Pentangle, rated M) The fic that took over my life, the longest thing I’ve ever written, and so far still an unfinished WiP. I affectionately refer to it as ‘The Monstrous Backstory’. It was never meant to be half the length it already is, and was basically an exercise in frustration with the plot of TWW s3 and the treatment of Hecate, and the hand-waving of everything that had been previously established about her. I started writing it to get my feelings out, and never stopped; it mostly serves to stitch up all those canon plotholes and inconsistencies with my (and sometimes fanon’s) own explanations. There are still several chapters to go. My ambition is to finish it this year. 

Free Your Mind and the Rest Will Follow (Stargate SG-1, Dan/Jan, rated T)

My favourite of the Daniel/Janet fics I wrote over the years, and the one that got the best reception on LJ (remember LJ?), it’s not every strictly speaking a ‘shippy’ fic, but rather a team-bonding trip from the halcyon days of s1 with some Dan/Jan flirting if you squint. Lots of Wizard of Oz references. Janet Fraiser was the best one, fight me.

Per Annum (Dollhouse, Dominic/DeWitt, rated T)

Also, remember Dollhouse? I have a special fondness for this little fic. It’s probably closest to the way I write now. Once again, it was written because I had Feelings about canon, and wanted to express them. DeWitt deserved better.

The Queen’s Legacy, (Stargate SG-1, Dan/Jan, rated T) 

I have no link to this one because it is lost forever to the dark depths of Yahoo Groups, but I remember it because it was my first ever fic, and you never forget your first. It was a four-chapter Dan/Jan spectacular featuring Goa’uld possession, and, er, some other stuff. It was also responsible for me making connections in a fandom for the first time ever, including with people I’m still in touch with today, and was where I met my best friend of now-20 years. It was probably terrible, but we’ll never know. 

The World Unwraps Itself to You Again and Again  (The Worst Witch, Hecate Hardbroom/Pippa Pentangle, rated T)

I love TWW. I love Wicked. Pippa and Hecate are Glinda and Elphaba. The rest practically wrote itself. Probably the most fun I had writing a fic, because it was utter nonsense and I loved it.

Second, yiiiiiikes this got kinda forgotten in my asks because I told myself I needed to go compile a list and....here we are. 

Ok, answering actual ask: Um...so. This a rare phenomenon that I honestly have NEVER SEEN in any other fandom, but honestly...like...ALL the Hackle writers are so damn good???? It’s amazing that such a relatively small fandom has a pairing that brings in such quantity and QUALITY in writing (and art/prompts/headcanon posts....honestly, Ye Goode Shippe Hackle is FIYAH)

If you’ve read Hackle, you’re probably already aware of the big-hitters like @cassiopeiasara who has probably created the most content per-word for this pairing. She’s a behemoth in the writing sector of this fandom, with good reason. If you want cuteness overload, go for @rikubean. If you want to be emotionally WrEcKeD, go see @agapi42 and the once/twice storyline (I still re-read it pretty often. It’s killer and I LOVE IT)

Other greats include (but are certainly NOT limited to): @cosmic-llin, @daggers-in-the-smiles-of-men, @yetanotherramblingfangirl, @walkthegale, @meridelclarke (I KNOW I am missing so many people, I am so sorry--anyone else is free to post their faves in the comments as well!!)

I know there are a few new writers and I haven’t yet had a chance to read them, but I’m so excited to settle in and do so soon, once non-virtual life calms down a bit. 

Also, not Hackle, BUT: @heathtrash is writing a Hecate/Miss Honey crossover fic that is like...blowing my damn mind.

Care to share one of them?A:Too many to function as a productive member of society. I would say at least 20 but I’m not sure of a precise number. I would sure love to share one (I share ideas quite often on the discord tww chat. If you’re there, you probably already know that. If you’re not and would like to be added, message heathtrash). I have a variety of fics in the works. I’m working on a “Let it shine” AU teen hicsqueak fic,a mama Hecate fic for mother’s day in May, a fic where Dimity tricks HB to become the 2nd chaperone on a field trip to Greece (where are many interesting things as well as danger), a fic where Hecate and Algernon bond over their shared experience of entrapment, a fic where Julie takes HB on a date in the non magical world and…well, Hecate tries. You name it, I have it!14) Q:  What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across? A: This is a really good question I unfortunately have no real answer for. Perhaps the notion that you shouldn’t write if it’s not going well but that’s not advice, technically. We’ve all been there. None of the writers you admire was born like this. Everyone has probably written something of bad quality at least once in their lives. When you lose confidence, keep going. That’s how you get better.23) Q:  If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why? A: It’s interesting you’d ask me that because I’m fairly new in the TWW fandom writing club and thus have no old TWW fics I’d rewrite. Amelia Cackle has employed an artist to paint Constance’s portrait as a 40th birthday present. Constance is flattered until she meets the artist, Lynne Lamplighter, to whom she takes an instant dislike.

As she studied the angles of Miss Hardbroom’s face, Lynne felt as though there was a surface she had not yet managed to broach with her. Underneath were glimmers of something, like brush strokes you suddenly catch sight of in a painting; one is compelled to peer closer to see the beauty of them, where the artist’s hand and the subject’s soul were in brief union. That was what Lynne longed to find in all her portraits, and hoped she could capture that exact harmony in the final piece—if only Miss Hardbroom would let her.

Constance knew she resisted being understood at the best of times, even if part of her always hoped she would meet someone who would be willing to fight through her defences to uncover her very soul. Now her natural penchant for keeping everyone at arm’s length was to be her armour—it was vital that she maintained a façade for the sanctity of magic. Not even the softest brush stroke could tempt her to open up in any way. It would be an easy enough task with this gaudily-clad artist who offended every fibre of her being—but still, she would have to ensure Miss Lamplighter saw not a single glimmer of what she was concealing within, even as she sat under her scrutiny for the portrait.

LAMPBROOM??? In MY 2023? it's more likely than you think.

so i began this a few years ago, inspired loosely by Portrait of a Lady on Fire, and picked it up in the weeks before top surgery as a distraction. much of this was even written during my ongoing recovery!

I think I tend to go directly into action, using either a sentence that tosses you in or direct speech. Funnily enough, the first three I entered here all start with "Jenny" as the first word XD Of course, the one German example is a Fairy Tale AU and thus utilises the "once upon a time there was..." structure typical for fairy tales.

They're all written in third person past tense, which I suppose is the most commonly used way of writing. Most of them also talk about movement of some kind! (watching movement, running/walking, lazing and relaxing)

The ones jumping off an episode as an addition usually mention something from the episode itself (especially One Hundred Kisses), or sets the scene of where it starts off (demons run, souls linger).

This was really interesting to see! And I'd like to hear frommmmm... @jennyvastraflint, @casualscribbler and @heathtrash pleaseee! No pressure tho, just if you got time!
