Hey! I found your blog the other day because I was salty and looking through fandom opinions to make myself even saltier. You said something about Ahsoka that made me stop dead. I had to read it several times just to be sure and even then I couldn’t believe it. I thought I was alone in not liking Ahsoka - this entire fandom is set on making her out to be this ✨Super Awesome Special Best Girl Who Does Everything Right All The Time✨ and those are literally the only opinions you hear about her. But right from her introduction I didn’t like her. That’s a rant for another time, but I’m just going to leave it at how I’m so confused by her personality. She grew up in the Temple, right? So why is she so Rebellious™️? Why does she wear a crop top and mini skirt? Why’s she so sassy and rude to people? That’s not normal Padawan behaviour no matter what anyone says. They were just trying to find a marketable character for a children’s show and gave her the personality of every Nickelodeon American Teen Protagonist!

I think you hit the mark on focusing on making her ~relatable to the Youths~ in her intro more than making sense for her character/how a real teenager would act. (Sabine and Ezra felt much more natural to me in that aspect.) I also think part of the issue is something soooo many female characters are forced into - male-dominated fandoms like this tend to be hostile to women (see: Ahsoka's debut period, Rey, Rose, Cara Dune before those types realized the actress was One Of Them, the Kotor fans who are intensely against female Revan or sexualize Mission, etc) so the creator(s) go overboard in trying to make them appealing to that particular loud section of fandom. So Ahsoka wears age- and character-inappropriate clothes*, she's snarky and sassy and "one of the guys." And in this rare case, it worked. She was eventually assimilated. Notice how she's replaced Padme in 99% of official and fandom merch? Padme, a character who is reduced to "sadness" or "fashion icon" (neither as easy to box up and tie with a neat Girlboss bow despite her demonstrated political activism and combat prowess) aka has actual character traits and flaws, reacts to things in a not-always-appealing-to-fandom way but in a way that makes sense for her character, is written to be multifaceted and not just designed to appeal to the common majority? Huh.

(Leia's "she's not a princess anymore she's a general" thing also felt that same way to me and rubbed me the wrong way, but Leia largely escaped Girlbossification because she was already a fully realized character in her own right, and also being created before the internet-style fandom probably helped.)

*Apparently we can lay that at the feet of George "there is no underwear in space" Lucas though. Once Filoni took over Ahsoka started wearing MUCH better outfits. Credit where it's due. (Ripping off Gandalf for your shitty oc still sucks though, let's be clear. But contrast her Rebels and TCW S7 looks with her tube top or cocktail dress for example. And as someone who had boobs about Ahsoka's size at her age, a tube top wouldn't cut it for marching band let alone lightsaber combat. Her first look was AWFUL.)

I LOVE A HARD DAY'S NIGHT

the album is incredibly charming, it sounds like young love feels. it's all fun and exciting and full of expectations, which is what i feel like the beatles were feeling at the time, at the brink of blowing up but not quite there yet. that sequence of and i love her/tell me why/can't buy me love is my favorite part of the álbum, but i just love singing and dancing to it all, it's such a feel good record

and the movie!!! oh, the movie. it's a treasure that we get to see that period of beatlemania captured so perfectly in a film, that very scene of the movie of them being chased by fans while a hard day's night plays is just iconic, and it's the perfect introduction to the movie because it sums it up so well, it's just the beatles being put in situations and dealing with them all together because they're the only ones who know what it's like to be a beatle

and the acting is not all that bad? the dialogue is great, they got to keep their accents and all of their beatleisms, they're not that bad at acting, except for paul because he's too much of a try hard, bless him lmao

TSR new reader thoughts: chapter 21-26

Chapter 21: Into the Heart

Moiraine POV finally!! I love this POV because it does absolutely nothing to make her a more sympathetic or likeable character. featuring such bangers as "Egwene is getting harder to manipulate, this is really inconvenient" and "When Lan is with me it's annoying because he thinks I need protection, but when he's not with me it's annoying because he should be doing his job and protecting me" and "what the fuck Rand I'm so fucking angry what the FUCK - *outwardly just has the blankest most neutral expression*" truly she is the character of all time.

anyway. Rand is politicking and still doesn't think a woman could ever be a legitimate threat to anything. ok

Chapter 22: Out of the Stone

Aiel culture information, cool. Rand and Egwene reminiscing about the Two Rivers, cute and tragic. Moiraine is so funny in this chapter being upset that Rand is keeping secrets. girl have you met yourself?? also Lan taking Rand's side over Moiraine's - god this woman can't catch a break.

Chapter 23: Beyond the Stone

Moiraine was soooo angry at Rand for taking the risk with the stone. also Lan wtf withholding Aiel information from Moiraine. "You have never asked me about them" terrible excuse you've been together for twenty years and it's extremely relevant to the quest you're on RIGHT NOW. this doesn't feel like a Lan move tbh but maybe I just have my rose-colored MoLan glasses on. it really does seem like Lan is distancing himself from Moiraine which I'm upset about.

Aviendha can channel! we're meeting so many channelers from different areas and it's very cool. I think her denial of what the Wise Ones want her life path to be, and eventually caving in, parallels very nicely with our ta'veren protagonists.

Moiraine goes into a tent, drinks some wine, keeps talking over Egwene to get random information about the Aiel, goes on a rant about the Old Tongue that no one really cares about, and then runs out naked to go through a mystery ter'angreal. what an icon.

Chapter 24: Rhuidean

I really don't have a lot to say about this chapter, like, Mat being Mat, some more ter'angreal fuckshit, human skin leather on the creepy guy, okay moving on.

(actually though, WHAT is going on with these redstone doorways, insane. sometimes it's hard to tell with the ter'angreal what magic weirdness will be handwaved away and what will be explored/explained later. either way, though, it's fun to read.)

Chapter 25: The Road to the Spear AND Chapter 26: The Dedicated

holy shit. this is why I read epic fantasy. I'm combining these chapters because they're basically one long chapter of Rand going back through Aiel history. I don't even know what to say except that it was extremely cool, I loved how it traced the history back through one family line, and I was absolutely overwhelmed (in a good way) by the insane amount of lore. it was very smoothly done though. standout moments for me are learning the reason behind the Aiel veiling their faces before they kill, and also WHAT THE FUCK WE GOT THE AGE OF LEGENDS??? on page??? with like, male channelers and futuristic technology and ?????? I'm never recovering.

but yeah, TLDR that was an insane sequence that made me so, so excited for future lore reveals. I'm in it now baby, I'm not just invested in the characters but I'm also so invested in the world Robert Jordan built. there's so much history, so many cultures, and I want to learn about all of it.

Pubescent water Bender adventures with his friends

I'm excited and I'm going in with no clue. I read the first book once, six years ago when I was 11. I remember I enjoyed it, but I abandoned the series after seeing the horrid movie. Now coming back to it, I can see why I liked it so much. The action scenes are thrilling, and the plot twist in the first book is so easy to see now that I'm older. The descriptions are way different from when I remember them. I literally remember Grover being described as a red head but what eves. But I am currently on the third book.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

I read this right at the beginning of the year and I'm too lazy to get my copy from upstairs, so we'll see how this goes. I actually really enjoyed the beginning of the story. I liked all the introductions to the characters and the story. One thing that took me out of it was the writing. Not that it was bad, but it felt SOOOO Childish. That's to be expected since it's literally for 12-year-olds, but the number of times I was starting to get into the story and some childish ass line appeared I was immediately taken out. Maybe I'm stupid but some of the descriptions were confusing. Like I had to re-read whole pages to really understand where we were and what was happening. Like that whole love tunnel scene or whatever, I was straight up lost. Lastly, how I felt about the characters. Grover was adorable and Percy was a solid main character. But Annabeth... Annabeth. I don't remember her being this annoying when I was younger. I know the fandom loves her but something about her rubbed me the wrong way. Like Girl was straight up mean sometimes. The number of times I paused reading and audibly said, " Girl. what's your problem." I love bad-ass female characters but ugh. It's not giving what I wanted it to be giving. Like ugh. Actually, ngl Percy kind of annoyed me. Like I know he did nothing, but for some reason I was low key rooting for Ares to win the fight. 3/5

Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters

I honestly like this book better. It was funny and the new characters were much more enjoyable. It was giving Shrek 2. I felt so smart being able to connect the dots in this book. I patted myself on the back when I guessed the Sea of Monsters was in the Bermuda Triangle. Tyson was adorable. Annabeth was a bit more tolerable. But that whole siren song scene made me annoyed. Like I felt sorry for her, but like GIRL AREN'T YOU SUPPOSED TO BE THE SMART ONE. Grover in THAT WEDDING DRESS was Iconic. Now the real star of the show was my girl Clarisse. Every scene she was in was Iconic. Like am I supposed to like her this much????WHEN THEY BROUGHT OUT MY GIRL CIRCE I WAS HERE FOR IT. As a Madeline Miller connoisseur, anyone from A song of Achilles or Circe will automatically be my favorite. Listen. Listen. I did not expect the ending of a children's book to have me shook. I know 11-year-old me would have been shaking in her boots from that ending. THALIA is back. Period. 3.5/5

-i have nothing to say about this scene its simply perfect. Would be funny if tsubasa was just working a secretary job and shinobus like "wait you saved the world why are you working that job" and tsubasas like "i tried to be director for a day and i needed a year of therapy afterwards'

-i dont think its their bond that let them use synchrome first, i think they were just messing around with their beys. Most bladers dont seem to understand basic mechanics

-i think this episode just shows off the pacing issues soooo much. This episode had the gang meet the old bladers, had rens introduction, and is having the rebattle with the unabaras. These are three separate episodes!!!

-listen maru and zyro vs kite and eight wouldve been perfect. Sibs vs sibs. I do think he should synchrome with shinobu first but like, maru

-more property damage!!!!!

-why did they animate kites adams apple??? Why.

-summary: best episode, ren really makes this episode. Shes such a personable character and even in short bursts she can show off really well. I just wish the episode treated her with more respect, she shouldnt be brushed away like a side thought. This episode is a mess but an enjoyable one.

IM BORED. my top three farscape eps from each season::::::: looking at these i think season two has the best EPISODE concepts (it was hard choosing faves from that season bc i love so many) but season 4 is my favorite for just,,,,,,, the hecking Yearning + domestication in each episode but i dont particularly favor the episodes themselves

Season 1:

through the looking glass - i always saw this ep as being the first completely filler ep that really felt like farscape with the crew all working together and having a VERY CUTE little laugh about it at the end. i love the vagueness of it, it’s not annoying or cliche??? and i’m particularly fond of the yellow moya scenes like rygel’s like “shall i disrobe so it will be memorable” is one of my fave lines from him.

a human reaction - mY TRASH. MYYYY TRASH. just one of those farscape eps that are so Abstract in concept, they are just Default Faves for me like Always haha. so many good little j/a crumbs, the kiss in this ep is one of my BIG FAVES, i love everything about that scene and the ones leading up to it. LOVE THE RAIN SCENE. it’s probably the very first time john is like ‘maybe Earth bad’ and,,, ‘maybe space girl Good’ and i love that thruline of the show. this ep stands soooooo far apart from the majority of season 1 for me.

nerve: the hidden memory - “THE RADIANT AERYN SUN.” stark isn’t unbearable in his debut episodes woah! i like him as a sad boy who isnt a plot device! love gilina, love her death (rip), love seeing how far john and aeryn have come since they’d last seen her, love aeryn and crais’s interaction in this episode like YES GIRL SLAY, love whenever aeryn has to juggle with feeling WEAK and having to put her big girl pants on to save her himbo, love any interaction between d’argo and aeryn LOVE THAT.

Season 2:

crackers don't matter - the DIALOGUE in this episode is Insane and i LOVE IT i think there are so many line deliveries in this ep that are so memorable and Iconic they all just live in my mind rent FREE. i wish the commentary for this episode wasn’t about the more practical aspects of it because UUUHUUH i genuinely would love to just Absorb the mindset behind it. GOD TIER FILLER.

out of their minds - i am such a whore for body swap tropes it’s humiliating. another ep with a lot of iconic line deliveries! i love cb playing as john! love that for her! bb as rygel too is amazing i love all their stupid accent switching SO MUCH. love the skeksis love that they joke about them looking like skeksis because it’s jim henson and they can DO THAT.

won't get fooled again - any time i think about this ep im like man how Opened Third Eye was it to have john just immediately be like “haha ok this is fake lmao” like it’s so SUBVERSIVE in what it does pretty much right off the bat in introducing the moya crew as “normal” humans. eps like these are just ALWAYS my faves in tv series because of how crazy they can get and this one does and i love it so much for that.

Season 3:

scratch n' sniff - any time i get the moya crew on a pleasure planet or at a rave im like HELLO. :) I LOVE RAXIL she’s such a funky little freak. describing this ep is so weird its like Oh Yeah The Boob Juice Sucking One. JUST JOHN AND D’ARGO BEING BACHELORS, WHAT BLISS. i wish i got more john + d’argo shenanigans in this show ‘cause they are like such a fave together dynamically mwah mwah mwah. <3

into the lion's den: wolf in sheep's clothing - its a little crazy how much i Hate the first half of this two-parter which is super PANDERY AND BAD and then the last half is like so Insane and such a good close for the season. EVERYONE’S SO MISERABLE. the scorp shots with the imploding ship and the water UGHGUGHUGH <33333 love aeryn in this love her trying to save the Peacekeepers, love JOHN, love the little scientist nerd who works under Scorp i forget his name WHOOPS he has a nice design. THE CRAIS + TALYN DEATH IS SO GOOD;;;; LOVE THAT FOR THEM;;;;; <3333

dog with two bones - i think the fact that literally no other tv show has pulled THIS MESS off really speaks to the uniqueness of farscape and its ABILITY TO TELL ROMANCE??? theres so much in this that is just like WOWOWOWOW THIS EP IS SO GOOD. the part where they kill the rogue leviathan and rygel is celebrating on the comms and it transitions to aeryn Going Insane in her prowler over everything that’s happening. FIRE. the dog with two bones analogy UGHGUGHGUGH <333333 I LOVE THE AERYN > EARTH THRULINE WITH JOHN SO MUCH ITS JUST AT ITS PEAK HERE WHICH MAKES IT GREAT BY DEFAULT. the coin scene is SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD THE ENDING SCENE OF THIS EPISODE IS SOOOO GOOOOOD.

Season 4:

john quixote - MY FAVE EP OF THE SERIES LOL. love the COSTUMING love the POP CULTURE REFERENCES love that its SEASON 4 love that we GET A ZHAAN CRAIS JOOL AND STARK CAMEO. another conceptually abstract episode so of course i love it lol. love the scene in the end with john and zhaan where he’s kinda a sad boy!!!!! actually funny story about this ep the first time i watched this i was in elementary school still, i grew up on this show this is my Nostalgia Baby series, and did not know what the word “porn” was so like for a very concerning amount of time i always assumed “porn” was an Alien Word and not a real word. BECAUSE LIKE, in context you see chiana holding up a Gooey Boy and going “and this? porn!” and that was all i had to go by the end.

crichton kicks - I LOOOOVE SAD JOHN. I LOVE HIM. I love the character beats we get out of a john that CHOSE THE GIRL over his home and instead of GETTING HER he is punished for it, losing his chance at BOTH OUTCOMES like mentioned in “dog with two bones” despite him having chosen One of the options and not both. love the introduction to 1812 whenever john gets a named thing i am like Yes. :~) my boy, my little man. he’s a little crazy and a little sad.

terra firma - the YEARNING in this ep man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this ep waters my CROPS one of my Biggest Fave scenes is when Aeryn and Jack are in her prowler talking about john and he’s like Do You Wish You Were Human and she doesnt answer and im like LORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more of that John Not Vibing With Earth Anymore trope which I LOVE. literally all fics surrounding this episode i will SNORT LIKE CRACK.

Writing beginnings

I have my onboarding (basically first day) at work tomorrow and I am SO very nervous but I wanted to post today in order to prove to myself that I will be able to handle a full time job with writing and this account. Soooo I thought I would make a post on writing beginnings since it’s always something I struggle with on a first draft

Theory

If you search online HOW to write the beginning of a story it’s likely you’ll get a set of rules like “don’t start with description” “don’t do this” “do that” and frankly, it’s annoying.

Common writing theory will tell us that a story must begin with a fascinating first line that immediately pulls the reader in, that the main character must be introduced and by the end of the first chapter, their motive should be clear. These things are not set in stone, and unless we’re in the topic of dialogue, writing rules are meant to be broken. My rule of thumb is this: if I picked up this book at the store, what would I have read in order to keep reading?

The first line

There’s so much pressure to write a perfect first line but here I am to tell you it doesn’t matter. What’s the point of a great first sentence if everything that follows is trash? Focus on the beginning as a whole - what atmosphere do you want it to have? What characters will you introduce? How does the beginning (i.e first chapter) set the first step towards the rest of the story?

The first line can be the last thing you write. For me, my first line came after three rewrites of the book and five rewrites of the first book. Now, my first line is basically a segue to the conflict of the book - the end of the world - and introduces of my main character’s problems throughout the book - school.

Dialogue, action or description?

How should your book start? This depends on you as a reader. Many will find that a book that starts with description is a great way to get them hooked on the story and give them an insight into the world, but for others, a book starting with description is an automatic DNF.

Many will say that action is the best way, but this could be confusing if we don’t have a grasp on the world and characters yet.

A lot of Google sites will say that character introduction and I would agree, BUT not by telling us how they look and act. A beginning, be it first chapter or fourth, should give us an insight into the MC’s head by showing us who they are. Similar to Save The Cat’s advice about making a character do something human (like save a cat) to help us build sympathy.

Another route would be introducing the world in a way that presents your characters’ motivation. For example, Pride and Prejudice’s first line: “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”

This line (and the following beginning) immediately throws into the plot of the book by insinuating, that there is a single rich man looking for a wife and that the MC may become that.

Write what you love

Ahh my go to advice for anything writing related. Take your favorite books and read their beginnings: what about them makes you want to read it? What makes you feel giddy and excited? Obviously don’t copy their beginnings lol but analyze and learn from them! There’s no better way to learn how to write than by reading.

Xia was born in Pekin, China. At age 6, she moved to Argentina because her parents thought living there will help to resolve their marriage problems. During her years on Argentina, she learned basic spanish and went to a Chinese school while taking dance and taekwondo classes. Her parents divorced when she was 9 and she moved to Korea with her mother and brother for a fresh start. She lost contact with her father and never showed interest on contact him because she remembers that he was very violent with them. Her first years in Korea were quite difficult because she did not know how to speak Korean and had no idea about Korean culture, but thanks to the support of her friends, she studied hard and is improving every day. Her mother pushed her to be an idol when she saw how talented she was at dancing and rapping. Xia auditioned to JYP just to see if her mother words where right and became a trainee after rapping a Drake song. Xia was meant to debut as a solo artist and she didn't participe on the survival show. Althought Bang Chan proposed her to be part of SKZ during 2017, her official debut was with "District 9" during I AM NOT era.

What is the “Identity V” mobile game?

Identity V is a survival horror multiplayer game designed for children 12 +. The story revolves around a detective who is solving a mystery behind a sinister game held within an abandoned manor. The game setup revolves around matches between 4 survivors and 1 hunter or 8 survivors and 2 hunters (depending on the mode). Basically to win, the hunter must kill 3 or 6 survivors or at least 3 or 6 survivors must escape before the game ends. The player can level up his/her characters by playing and winning matches. The rewards earned from the games can be used to upgrade the skill of the characters, receive items, obtain costumes, and many more.

Why I advice TPN fans to play this game and participate in the event?

If you are an avid TPN fan, I advice you to start playing this game before the “The Promised Neverland” crossover event takes place sometime in February or early Spring of 2021 but the exact date is yet to be announced. I just estimated those dates based on the deadline of the pre-registration. In my opinion, to fully enjoy this event, you’ve got to be familiar with the controls, mechanics, and intensity of the game before the awaited event so that it wouldn’t surprise you. 😉 Let me tell you, the game is intense especially for gamers who aren’t used to this genre. It’s an adrenaline pumping game that involves a lot of running around, hide and seek, and prompt decision making that will get new users addicted to it. All I can say is, a good battle strategy comes in handy in these games. Sounds familiar? Yeah! Just like in TPN, your practically playing tag with your enemy. Your strategy as a killer or a survivor matters a lot if you want to win and reap the rewards of your victory. For me, this game reminds me a lot of the Goldy Pond Battle Arc but unlike in the Manga, the number of players (hunters and survivors) are greater in TPN. Emma and the other survivor’s task is different compared to the game because they have to stay alive within the alloted killing time instead of just deciphering machines and activating exits to escape the game area. In Emma‘s case though, they are literally trapped and living in Goldy Pond, the bloody arena! They can’t escape! I’m excited to see how this plays out in the event because NetEase Inc. might alter the basic mechanics of the game to follow the main story of TPN so it’s something to look forward to. Another thing to look forward to are the costumes, items, and other rewards that are based on the TPN characters that you all love and cherish!!! 🥳 HOW COOL IS THAT! 🤩 Fans may get a chance to earn Grace Field costumes or maybe an Emma sleeve. 😭 I’m looking forward on seeing an Emma-looking survivor doll running away from a Leuvis-looking hunter doll or maybe a Norman-looking survivor doll rescuing an Emma-looking survivor doll. 😍 Heck, I think it’s the other way around but it’s still soooo CUTE. 🥲

It’s easy, just bind your game ID number in the pre-registration page. It’s totally free too!

How do I obtain a game ID number?

The game ID can be obtained if your already an Identity V player. The game ID number is shown underneath your user name in the settings menu. If your not a player, you need to download the mobile game first and start the game. Don’t worry, your not going to be thrown in the killing arena right off the bat.

What is the Manor IQ Test?

The Manor IQ Test is a teaser game for fans to enjoy while waiting for the crossover event. It’s a super hard, time pressured IQ Test that enables fans to experience the difficulty level of the test the premium cattle kids have to take every morning. I advice switching on the sound effects because it adds up to the creepy factor and the pressure of getting a perfect score. 😰

How to get a perfect score in the Manor IQ Test to avoid getting shipped out?

If your a fan of the series, you know the importance of getting a perfect score in every test. Perfect score = another day to live (in their case, it’s 3 months to live until the time when they turn 12 and their hard earn scores are deemed useless). 🤬

Yes! That’s the hard truth the TPN characters faced. The scores didn’t matter! At the end of the day, their still meat, a merchandise that must be consumed. The demons and caretakers gave them false hope that there is a way out, a chance to have a future but holding on to that illusion and fake happiness will lead the kids to their doom. It’s such a cruel world! I hope that they will be able to capture that sad reality of deception in the upcoming event and I know they will. The other dilemma that’s been perfectly portrayed in this game is “Work together vs Betray your comrades to ensure your safety”. Have you ever wondered why it’s not required for all 4 survivors to escape the game? Well, it’s just practical and realistic that way, right? But it also mean that the three players can offer up their last teammate as sacrifice to distract the hunter while they escape. (Just like what Ray thought during the Jail break Arc, he was willing to be the bait to distract Mama while the others escape.)

I’m looking forward in seeing you in the game as my teammate or AS MY VICTIM!!! Don’t worry, I’m still learning the game so I’m usually a dumb hunter or an airhead teammate. 😓 (Sorry but I’m working on it!)

OKAY i only watched it once through so here are my jumble of thoughts:

-the op song is ok, not the worst but not the best, but i rly like the direction of it, i though the 3d animation looked rly cool and i liked the pairings they went with for the split screens, particularly momiji and kureno sharing a split screen

-i thought tohru’s facial expressions and her deteriorating ability to respond to kureno were rly well expressed

-oh my god akito attacking ren was soooo bad like. SO bad. the way akito plows ren through the room and out the door.....i cant. why would akito be able to do that and then not be able to break out of hatori’s grip right after.....

-maaya sakamoto tho. icon so so good especially when akito breaks down crying, it was a rly good callback to the end of 2x25 when child akito is pleading with kureno and i like they the body language was repeated too

-we love girlies <3 i hate the writing tho i wish uo had maybe just been like hey tohru he’s literally just some guy. because tohru’s distress over it really does not match reality and i think uo should’ve noticed that her reaction is way overblown. i mean curse and akito reveal aside, clearly there’s something deeper going on w tohru and her obsession w getting uo and kureno together and i think it wouldve been a better writing choice for uo to have realized that seeing as theyre telling her that she should try and prioritize her own feelings

-kureno and akito be fuckin

-ummmm what else happens? kyoru? that was cute

-but what was cuter was yuki seeing how happy kyo makes tohru and smiling <3

-takaya’s illustrations for the ed were so pretty and beautiful and gorgeous i love them all so much

that was a good ep!!! not the most interesting but it rly just functions as introductions to the central conflicts of act iii (the culmination of tohru’s arc, akito’s backstory and spiral mostly) i’m sure i’ll have more to say later, particularly about tohru, and i’m gonna start doing my fav 4 caps again!!!

thoughts on what you want to see in Shadow and Bone season 2!

Ah shadow and bone !!! My absolute fave !!! This question is very exciting and I've had many thoughts of things I'd love to see sooo I apologise if this gets long oops

- firstly, of course there is sooo many characters that now come into the story that I would love to see buuut I think the characters I really want to see appear is Tolya and Tamar ! I loved their characters throughout the series and I would love to see them included in the show !

- another character I want to see in season two is Wylan buuuut I do personally think it is too early for the events of six of crows to be shown in the show (I won't be mad if they do choose to include them though because I'm crazy excited to see how it'll be done) soooo I would love to see an introduction to Wylan where we see the scene where Kaz sends Jesper to recruit Wylan for a job !

- plot wise, I would truly love to see Kaz and Inej's first meeting and Kaz bringing her back to the slat and all that ! I think it would be so amazing to see that scene played out and see if there was an initial connection between them and how Kaz initialled felt about her after that first brief meeting !

- I am praying we get the first interaction between the crows and Nina and see her become one of the crows !!! I am starved for some Nina and Inej interactions so I would love to see that ! I would also love to see a scene where Nina asks Kaz for help in getting Matthias out of hellgate and just see them both interact because I love their dynamic in the books !

- I would also love to see (even though it would break my heart) Kaz's backstory and see little Kaz and Jordie ! I think it would be so great to see that whole story on screen and see the point where Kaz becomes who he is now !

- I would also die for another Kaz v The Darkling stand off just because it was truly iconic !

- a Matthias in hellgate scene ! Imagine seeing into one of his dreams about Nina, him locked up in his cell constantly thinking about how she betrayed him etc ! I just think it would be so great to see what hellgate is like for him as we only see such a tiny bit of it in the books!

- okay lastly, I would love to see Mal and Alina have some sort of contact with the crows ... maybe something like when they meet sturmhond and they bring up these criminals from Ketterdam and he knows exactly who they're talking about !

There's sooooo much more I'd love to see but these are the main things ! Thank you for allowing me ramble about my ideas !!

March 30th 2020 JYP Ent released “SOLAR volume 2” Inter-Stellar's 4th mini album. The mini album came in 3 versions : ot6 or either sub-units. The girls promoted PICKY PICKY as their title track and U DON'T KNOW ME as their special stage . The group also had special stages for the sub-unit songs. The 'INTER' sub-unit consisted of Nova, Kelsi and Mimi who performed LIAR. Whilst the 'STELLAR' sub-unit consisted of Haeun, Cleo and Taeji who's song was CARPOOL. The comeback was highly anticipated as the group received Rookie of The Year 4 times during awards season and their previous comeback was hugely successful. Fans loved the introduction of sub-units and how each sub-unit had their own styling and sound. The girls each played a huge part in production of their sub-unit projects.

I need to ramble about OG SKAM and remakes, and it's gonna be a long-ass post !

Before I begin, just to be clear : I haven’t watched all of SKAM NL, and I didn’t really like SKAM Austin. Well, I watched the first episode of SKAM Austin a while back, but I didn’t really wanna watch the rest of it, so...yeah.

So far, I watched the whole of SKAM Italia, and OG SKAM of course. I watched parts of season 1 & 2, and then from season 3 of SKAM France until current season 6; season 2 of SKAM España; the first episodes of SKAM NL; part of season 1, then complete season 3 Druck; and some of the season 1, the complete season 3 of WTFock, as well as WTFockdown, though.

Anyway, I was talking with my wonderful beta-reader, @unfinishedbusinessss a couple weeks ago,and thought, wow, I can’t even begin to rank Even & Isak’s versions in every remake, each couple has chemistry, and I can’t even pick a favorite among the remakes !

This got me thinking, I kinda wanted to do a humongous post about the whole SKAMverse though, not just the Evak versions.

Obviously, OG SKAM will always be first, and Even & Isak are just...OTP, forever. I fell in love with their story so much, but I feel like every remake managed to get me to fall in love with every Even & Isak’s version, and I wasn’t prepared fo that, tbh. Vilde is so irritating. Noora is the best character in the whole SKAMverse, and William is an ass. I loved Sana’s season so much it hurts, and Yousef is a sweetheart. Cried during the whole Jonas’ speech at the end, and during the Vilde-Chris scene as well, even though I don’t like Vilde ! That’s saying something. Isak is one of my favorite characters, but Even comes close. Eskild is my precious child.

Top 5 characters from OG SKAM :

1. Noora Amalie Sætre (wow, what an icon ! I mean, I kinda wish they would’ve dropped her whole storyline with William, because I definitely do not care for him, and I like Noora’s opinions in season 1 & the beginning of season 2. I love that she’s a feminist, so much more mature than the rest of the girls’ squad, and her introduction in the show, when she meets Eva, is jus perfect. I loved her from the first second ! Red lipstick looks incredibly good on her too, just saying.)

2. Isak Valtersen (I can’t tell you how much I like and relate to Isak, me, a 31-year old woman. (lol) He’s very much a teenage version of myself back in the days ! I like his inner battles, his friendship with Jonas is everything. His internalized homophobia is portrayed very realistically, I might add. I liked his character from quite early on, but his season just did it for me. Tarjei Sandvik Moe is a very good actor, we got so lucky with his casting in this role ! I love his character development from season 1 to season 4. He’s grown so much in such a short period of time !)

3. Even Bech Næsheim (okay, let me start with the obvious : Henrik Holm’s smile, eyes and laugh had me gone from the start. He’s gorgeous and I can definitely see why Isak fell for him ! His character is soooo well written, Henrik portrays Even so beautifully and with so many nuances, I loved every on-screen minute Even gets in season 3 and season 4. He’s got so much layers ! I also liked that we were all lost because of his atttitude when we watched season 3 of OG, because what the hell’s happening right now, Even ?! That’s really a proof of how amazing Henrik was in this role. And their chemistry was off the charts from their very first scene together, which doesn’t hurt either !)

4. Jonas Noah Vasquez (amazing best friend to Isak when he needs it !)

5. Sana Bakkoush (queen ! I love her so much, she’s definitely an iconic character ! I think all of the Sanas in the remakes don’t even come close to her, but Imane in SKAM France is amazing, Amira in SKAM España is fantastic, Yasmina in WTfock is sooooo good (can’t wait for her season !!), and Amira in Druck is freakin’ amazing as well. But like I said, Sana in OG SKAM is definitely the most fantastic one !)

SKAM France

When I heard they were making remakes, I honestly thought, “okay, so they’re gonna make seven different copies in seven different countries ?” It didn’t make any sense at the time.

So when SKAM France aired, I watched from afar, terrified that they would mess this up in the only way the French knows how (I’m French myself), and I didn’t really fell in love with the first two seasons. I didn’t even like Lucas, to be honest. He was a minor character in the background, and I didn’t expect to fall in love with Lucas and Eliott’s story as much as I did. I also didn’t expect their love scenes to be this tasteful and beautiful, so I was kinda blown away by that, and by their chemistry. The piano scene and the paint scene will forever be on my mind whenever I think about season 3 of SKAM France. I also fell in love with Imane, to be honest. She’s gorgeous, and her season with Sofiane was amazing. I didn’t expect to like “Le gang” as much as I did either. Mahdi and Magnus in OG SKAM are not really among my favorite characters, but boy did I liked Arthur and Basile. Both the actors are amazing, which tremendously helps ! I didn’t find Daphné as irritating as Vilde in OG SKAM though, don’t know why. She might actually be in my top 5, whereas Vilde is one of my least favorite characters in OG SKAM, with Emma of course. Oh, and I love the fact that Alexia is bisexual in this version ! That’s such a good addition !

I loved season 5. I was kinda dreading it at first, but when I learnt that it was gonna be based on Arthur, I was kinda relieved. I think Robin Migné is a terrific actor, and his performance during this whole season is just stellar !

So far, I quite like season 6. Maya will definitely enter my top 5 sometime very soon, honestly, and Lola’s not far behind her. Basile has redeemed himself so much since season 3 when I thought he was annoying as fuck !

Top 5 characters from SKAM France :

1. Lucas Lallemant (that guy. We’ve been blessed, you guys : Axel Auriant is a freakin’ incredible actor, which makes the character all the more realistic and likeable. I’ll be forever impressed by episode 7 of season 3, especially the beginning with the scene on the couch with Mika and Manon, where Lucas is crying because of Yann’s stupid reaction to Lucas coming out. What a shitty friend, honestly...)

2. Imane Bakhellal (she’s so fierce and I almost like her even better than I did Sana in OG SKAM. She’s beautiful and witty AF, I loved her season !)

3. Alexia Martineau (bi queen with colored hair, I love her so much !!)

4. Arthur Broussard (he grew on me sooo much in season 5, but I liked him from the start, tbh)

5. Manon Demissy (although I didn’t get around to watch her own season yet, but I hate Charles’ character with a passion, so I can’t bring myself to watch it yet...)

SKAM Italia (SKAM Italy)

Oh boy, does this remake has a particular place in my heart. I’m in love with the Italian language, have been for YEARS literally, and I think the whole cast is just gorgeous ! Eva might be my favorite Eva version to date. Season 4 was just SO GOOD, OMG, and I don’t even like Italian Sana that much, but wow, this was amazing !

Top 5 characters from SKAM Italia :

1. Martino Rametta (what a surprise ! It’s not a secret : Martino means the world to me. I was drawn to him very fast, very deeply. Maybe it’s because Federico Cesari is one hell of a an actor, maybe that’s because of his boyish cute freckly smiley charm, whatever; but he’s my number one favorite character from the whole SKAMverse. I can’t explain, really. He’s got something about him that just...makes me squeal every time I see him on screen. His season was SO GOOD YOU GUYS. I loved that we got to see his relationship with his mom. I loved the way Fede portrays his emotions, his inner battles, his fears. The way he acts with his eyes. And boy, season 4 was fireworks. Fede was always good, but season 4 was AMAZING. That scene with Sana is all kinds of incredible. Martino has never looked this good. He never looked so open, raw, vulnerable. His storyline with Niccolò kinda broke my heart, to be honest, but we got so much Martino screen time, I’m not complaining. He’s a gem. I’ll never not like Martino, he’s my person. I just connect with him so much, I can’t even explain it clearly !)

2. Giovanni Garau (”con la u finale, perché è sardo” ! Giovanni, aka the best Jonas in the entire SKAMverse. I loved OG Jonas, as well as German Jonas, don’t get me wrong, but Giovanni is ALWAYS there for Martino, and their friendship definitely fall into the brOTP category ! I love how supportive he is all through season 2, fights for Martino’s right to be happy and in love in public in season 3, and just never leaves his side in season 4. We’ve been blessed with this character you guys ! The male characters in SKAM Italia are so strong and likeable, it’s not even funny !)

3. Filippo Sava (one of the most amazing versions of Eskild to ever exist. I don’t have enough words to describe how much I LOVE this character ! Pietro Turano did an amazing job, wow. If Milan in WtFOCK wasn’t so fantastic, I’d definitely put Filippo in first place in the Eskild versions ranking !)

4. Niccolò Fares (I think Rocco Fasano did a fantastic job portraying Niccolò ! He’s definitely an underrated actor. Loved Niccolò quite late in season 2 though, but from the moment their first kiss happened, I fell in love with their story. And season 4 was just SO GOOD. We definitely get a side of Niccolò we didn’t even get with Even in OG SKAM, and his clip in episode 10 is amazing. Kudos Rocco, you definitely deserve recognition for your portrayal of Niccolò !)

5. Eva Brighi (one of the best Evas in the whole SKAMverse, IMO !)

SKAM España (SKAM Spain)

I’m not gonna ramble too much on this remake, especially because it might be the one I connected the less with, and I’ve only seen season 2 so far. Might be an unpopular opinion, but Cris gets on my nerves sometimes, that’s why she’s not in my top 5 characters from this particular remake.

Top 5 characters from SKAM España :

1. Lucas Rubio Fernández (the spanish Eskild, I think he’s cute AF, and incredibly brave. I really loved all of his interactions with Cris in season 2, he’s bringing her some wisdom she didn’t even knew she needed !)

2. Joana Bianchi Acosta (queen. I quickly was drawn to her character, I think from the moment we see her in her first scene with Cris. Tamara Ronchese is fantastic !)

3. Amira Naybet (OMG, her reaction to Cris coming out is everything !! Can’t wait to see her season !)

4. Nora Grace (she reminds me so much of OG Noora sometimes, it’s uncanny ! She has such a graceful presence !)

5. Dani Soto Peña (Cris’ older brother. I quite liked that we got to see Cris’ family in this version, her mother and brother. Dani was soooo annoying at first, but he was sooo sweet to Cris from the moment he drove her to the hospital to see Joana, and that scene when they smoke together on the terrace is everything. Such an accurate sibling scene !)

Druck (SKAM Germany)

Hooooooly wow, this remake is FREAKIN’ FANTASTIC. I finally watched season 3 during lockdown, so it’s very recent, but GOD it gave me so many feelings ! That version of Isak and Even is everything.

Top 5 characters from Druck :

1. David Schreibner (KING. Holy wow, Lukas Alexander/von Horbatschewsky is GOLD. He got me crying more than once. David’s story actually changes a lot from OG SKAM, but thank youuu Druck for shining a light on transgender’s representation in TV shows. David is a sooo well written character, he struggles a lot, but he’s relatable in so many ways. Wow, he’s just such a layered and complex character, I was blown away, really. And again, THANK YOU Druck for showing a sex scene with a transgender character, and him having an open conversation with Matteo about his struggle and how he sees himself is soo so important. It is so important to feel represented in movies and TV shows, I’m truly so thankful for this version of SKAM. Thank you Lukas !)

2. Matteo Florenzi (Matteo is an actual teenager, his portrayal is on point, and I felt his pain from the start. Michelangelo Fortuzzi did an amazing job, wow. Matteo grew on me so much in just one episode, it’s actually scary ! By the end of the first episode I wanted him to be happy, dump Sara, and just kiss David already.)

3. Jonas Augustin (Matteo has such an amazing best friend, with such a good singing voice ! Episode 10 of season 3 had me shook ! Iconic episode !)

4. Amira Mahmood (just a word for you : QUEEN ! Amira’s iconic ! I can’t wait to watch her season !)

5. Sam M’Pele (LOVE Chris’ version in Druck ! She’s awesome and so stylish ! I’m in love with her hair !)

WTfock (SKAM Belgium)

Yet again, I actually caught up on WTfock during lockdown, since Druck and WTfock were the only remakes I never watched at this point. And yet again, I was BLOWN AWAY. WTfock got me feeling so many things, and I only watched season 3 and WTfockdown. Wow. hOLY WOW. Might be one of my favorite remake, it’s SO GOOD.

Top 5 characters from WTfock :

1. Milan Hendrickx (the flemish Eskild, one of my fave characters in all of the SKAMverse ! FUCK, Lars Brinkman knocks it out of the park, he truly does ! Milan is by far my favorite Eskild character. He’s sooo supportive, he’s a true friend, he’s funny AF - OMG, that scene where he tries to flirt with Moyo got me howling with laughter !! And he’s loyal. I love that he’s almost a father figure to Robbe, who definitely needs it ! That scene in episode 6 when Robbe tells him about the homophobic assholes...His reaction...I think I cried for like a good five minutes when I watched this, I couldn’t catch my breath. Milan’s precious, and we must protect him at all costs. A favorite. I’m in love with him, his supportiveness, his loyalty to Robbe, his smile, his affection for both Zoë and Robbe. They matter so much to him. He’s a sweetheart !)

2. Robbe IJzermans (FUCK I didn’t expect to feel so much things when watching season 3. Robbe is the Isak version that goes through the hardest stuff. His own internalized homophobia is sooo painful to witness... Jens is supportive when he comes out, but then Moyo and Aaron act like the biggest jerks on the planet, they just have this RIDICULOUS reaction when Robbe tries to tell them thay he's into Sander...And the end of episode 5 is awful. I just can't. He's gone through so much that season,it's insane. And yet by the end of episode 10, my heart felt so full for him and Sander finally happy...Gosh. What a rollercoaster...Willem Herbots is insanely cute and wow how well did he conveys Robbe's emotions. I'm speechless !)

3. Sander Driesen (holy wow this character is sooo good ! I was wondering at the beginning of episode 3 when we'll get to see him, and the minute he appeared on screem, him and Robbe instantly had that insane chemistry. Which peaked in the first kiss, in the pool in episode 4. That scene, that sing, that intensity...Yeah, Robbe and Sander bewitched me !)

4. Zoë Loockx (such a good character as well !)

5. Yasmina Ait Omar (can't waiiiit for her season !)

SKAM NL (Skam Netherlands)

This is gonna short and sweet, since I’ve only seen a couple episodes, but I already like quite a few characters so far !

Top 5 characters from SKAM NL :

1. Liv Reijners (what a badass character ! She’s beautiful and fierce, what a great Noora version ! I love her so much and I haven’t even watched her season yet !)

2. Isa Keijser (very relatable version of Eva, I must say. She’s cute AF and I love her friendship with Liv !)

3. Janna Mertens (one of the best Chris’ versions I’ve ever witnessed so far ! She has a unique look, and I think she’s an awesome female character !)

4. Lucas van der Heijden (a sneaky little shit I just love ! I’m sad we won’t get his season though...He’s very attractive, and I would have loved to see him meet his Even...)

5. Imaan Elami (once again, a version of Sana I quite like ! She’s beautiful, and kind of a queen, to be honest ! I really like her a lot. Yet again, so sad we won’t get her season, nor her friendship with Lucas...)
